Elections at gunpoint
Tumblr media
How the propaganda show "russian presidential elections" took place in the occupied territories
As reported by the National Resistance Center, for three days, russians stopped Ukrainians at checkpoints and demanded they "vote", all under the watchful eye of armed guards who indicated where to mark the ballot.
Occupiers also conducted raids on homes, trying to obtain information about local residents who ignored the "elections". russians attempted to enter houses multiple times if the doors were not opened to them.
The patrol groups consisted of two civilians and a military member. They primarily targeted those who had voted in the pseudo-referendum and "local elections".
Collaborators from the "election commissions" recorded who exactly voted and compiled a separate list of "disloyal residents" who avoided "voting".
This is an inaccurate translation; it cannot convey all the despair and anger in the words of a person who is under occupation. It's just an inaccurate conversation context:
Womаn:"Quietly, please...
Man:"What do you want ?"
Collaborators:"Hello"
Man:"Who even allowed you kurva to come here? What the fuckin voting?Who allowed you to come into the yard?"
Collaborators:"We saw in your car your"...
Man:"What? Your?Our?.Crimea is ours,damn it!Why did you come here?WHY DiD you come here?What?"
Collaborators:"Put a signature"(on the vote for the dictator putin)
Man:"What a fuckin signature?...You came to me with a fuckin ballot, damn it... If I don't want to vote, I won't go vote."
Collaborators:"Do you have a problem with it?(the dictator and the voting)
Man:"Im against that shit.I didn't invite you here. This is my yard, my home. And I absolutely don't need you here, you fuckin sluts.Do you understand?"
Collaborators:"The Signature"
Man:"Go fuck yourself. You with your fags"
Tumblr media
"I must remind you that many people disappeared without a trace due to their resistance to the occupiers, many people were tortured. Many Ukrainians were shot."
Abroad, russians eagerly went to vote for the dictator putin. This is exactly how one can love russia - from far away abroad.

Old Kyiv
"Château de Fleurs"
In 1863, a French entrepreneur opened the entertainment venue "Château de Fleurs" (Castle of Flowers) on the site of the modern-day Dynamo Stadium. The cafe-chantant, as it was called in French style, housed a restaurant, concert halls for performances, a dance hall, a summer theater, and a beer bar. It also featured the city's only park with a paid entrance fee of 40 kopecks on the busiest days. Dining at "Château de Fleurs" was also available only by subscription, costing from 9 to 15 rubles per month, depending on the number of meals one could have per day.
Tumblr media
The name of the park fully reflected its concept. The park was adorned with flower beds featuring a wide variety of flowers.
Tumblr media
Every season at the Château was marked by the emergence of a new pop star, a new spectacle, or attraction.
Tumblr media
Ivan Nechui-Levytsky( Ukrainian writer, one of the founders of Ukrainian realism. His works are known for their depth and humanism)described the Château in his novella "Clouds":
..."At the Château, there was a grand celebration. The posters announced that that evening there would be Tyrolean songs sung in the garden, then fireworks would be set off, and at the end, Bengal lights and a fireworks display. A large crowd gathered! The entire Château in the valley was filled with masses of people."

Château de Fleurs closed in 1894 due to financial difficulties and changes in management. Later, Dynamo Stadium was built on its site.

"We used to plant flowers together, but now I dig their graves," Volodymyr, the head of the local utility company, shows me the graves they have been digging for four days now, "you see, there are branches with red ropes in seven graves, which means that seven people from one family will be buried. Everyone here is buried in families. Everyone here who is digging graves has lost either an acquaintance, friend, or relative. Some of them lost them all at once".

Today, Tetiana's funeral is taking place. She was 53 years old. She was killed by a missile attack in the village of Groza immediately after the reburial of her fellow villagers. His son's wife died with her. According to the locals, half of the people present that day were women, mostly elderly. Two children also died at the site.

"This is only the fourth burial, and I understand that I can't do it anymore. No one prepared me for the fact that I would have to bury a quarter of my village," says Anatoliy, 73, who also joined the grave digging, "I survived by a miracle because I was supposed to be at that farewell dinner. And when the rocket attack happened, I was just five minutes’ walk... And now what... This is the fourteenth grave we've been digging together".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For now, there are still seriously wounded survivors of the rocket attack in a Kharkiv hospital. Some bodies are being searched for DNA, some bodies have been burnt to ash and people are still missing. The death toll remains unchanged at 52 people.

Yesterday Ukraine celebrated Independence Day
Tumblr media
On August 24, 1991, Ukraine declared its independence. It can't be said that this independence came easily to us. For centuries, we fought for independence. And now, we are also fighting for freedom. Our people are strong and determined not to give up. I believe that we will prevail in this struggle.

A mother is burying her 14-year-old twin daughters, Anna and Yuliia, who were killed in a recent Russia’s terrorist attack on Kramatorsk.
Girls were visiting their mother, a surgeon at the Kramatorsk hospital. Before returning to their village of Dobropillia, they decided to go for a pizza. The twins were killed by a Russian missile attack on the cafe in the Kramatorsk city centre.
Russia inflicts unspeakable pain on Ukrainians by murdering our people every day. Russia must be brought to justice for its atrocities.
