Let me tell you a story about my first Christian Hip Hop and solo project that I did. It was around 2004, and we were stationed in Germany. I wrote down the idea and mock up of what the title would be, “Double Edge Sword” based off the scripture Hebrews 4:12, with my pic holding two medieval style swords. I loved the idea of having a photo with two swords for the cover, but how in the world will I get swords? My budget was around $0 and all I had to work with was faith, hope and belief! I had a cheap digital camera and could use that so I started telling people about needing some pictures for the album, my ideas for it and if they could help me with pictures. As I spoke it, the word spread and I ran into a lady from the church we attended in Germany. She was a photographer and volunteered to take my pictures… for free!! I was amazed at hearing those words. Now all I need are the swords. So I began speaking to people about it telling my co-workers of the idea, how it would look and the sound of the project. A guy in my platoon had a friend who owned a store that carried swords….and not just fake toy swords, these were real swords with a ‘double edged blade” they each had weight to them, at least 3-4 pounds and were legit! That gave the artwork exactly what was needed to make it standout. The morale of the story is have faith in God, write the vision then speak it often and it will manifest!!
