Let's talk about flying to pick up a puppy by yourself

And some ways to make it easier on you.

Your prep starts honestly, about a week before baby actually comes home. Maybe 2 weeks.

For my pre-flight prep, I first picked out a flight carrier. I went with the one my breeder recommended.

It has expandable sides, and a little storage pocket. And it's resistant to chewing. I'm really glad I didn't buy a cheaper one, and I can't stress enough that it's cheaper to buy a quality one the first time than have a zipper break or a tear in the middle of your trip. My trip in total was 4 flights and 4 hours in the car, with him being with me for half of it and having the longest layover of my day. I could only really let him out a couple times, so this next part was incredibly helpful.

I mailed the carrier to my breeder,

at her behest. This was *huge* because the siblings got their scent on it and he was acclimated to being in it before I got to him. It acted as a secure place for him to ride in the car and for his first few nights here, he slept in there through the night.

And now that he's in his crate, the removable pad with scents on it has been instrumental in establishing the crate as a safe place for him.

Please consider what you're wearing that day.

Wear clothes you don't need to fuss with *at all* that's normal airport protocol- but I can't stress this enough, you're carrying the puppy in your arms through the TSA checkpoint and other people will be fussing over him. Make sure your appearance and personal bag is no fuss.

In my personal travel bag I kept:

Pee pads, his food from the breeder, a change of clothes in case of incidents, a portable battery to charge my phone, collapsible food and water bowls, collar and leash incase one wasn't provided, and SEVERAL toys in there.

The toys were great for waiting in the terminal. I'd expand the sides of the crate and introduce a new toy to him to help him run a bit of energy out before we had to board.

Peepads: Even though airports have animal relief areas, chances are they're either kind of gross or your dog may be a little too young for it to be safe. I was traveling through one of the busiest airports in the world, and nobody was checking jack shit so I opted for potty breaks to occur in bathrooms with pee pads. He didn't end up going but it's better to be prepared.

I flew Delta and used Skymiles accumulated from our credit card with them that we pay off monthly, so the only thing I paid for out of pocket was 95.00 to bring Argos on board. My flight only costed 20k miles total, and that was only a small portion of what we'd accumulated over the 6 months we've been using the card. I think it's worth considering if you're planning to fly to a breeder. It enabled me to go anywhere in the country that Delta flies and not worry about costs.

Day of hack: double check your flights on the airlines app and switch your seat if possible. I swapped one of my return flight seats to an empty row for 15.00, which meant I could have my carryon and him with me at the same time and that was very nice for readjusting where my stuff was and taking a damn nap. Because at this point, I'd been up for about 18 hours and still had 7 hours of traveling before I'd get home.

I think my last thing is that if you're like me and you do have an invisible disability- ask if you can preboard. Dont be afraid to say "hey, i have this problem and standing in the heat while carrying a bunch of stuff is potentially going to cause an episode. " The employees were extremely nice, and willing to work with me. Ultimately, I went through all of this because he's a service dog prospect and will hopefully help.

Small things for me specifically prior: ate in the morning and right before I picked him up, he was able to chill in his carrier while I ate dinner at a restaurant in the airport- didn't make any sounds. He slept the whole time. I don't think I couldve eaten in the food court, too much to carry between him and my main bag.

I think that's it. I may add to this if I remember anything I forgot.

Edited to add: for my besties with miscellaneous illnesses-

A baggie with your medicines is IMPORTANT. Do not forget some dramamine, advil, Tylenol, whatever, pack it if there's a small chance you'll need it!

I ended up getting migraine symptoms like 5 hours into travel, and that was not a day I could afford to have blurred vision. <3 remember to take care of YOU on the journey.

steven would be wary at first because he worries the dog might make an even bigger mess of his stuff on the floor.

he'd be forced to clean up, might grumble a little in the beginning but will eventually enjoy the clean up process.

he finds it therapeutic in a way.

steven will 100% spoil the pupper. treats? yes. toys? he's bought it. clothes? he'll learn how to sew just so he can dress the dog up.

spoiler alert: he sometimes makes dog clothes similar to his printed button downs and goes out on walks with the matching clothes.

steven gives the dog the name, something like jackie or didi depending on the gender.

steven buys them a bed but will always let the dog sleep on his bed every single night.

steven will totally exhaust himself playing with their new pet. sometimes you'll come home and find him passed out on the floor with the dog snoozing on top of him or snuggled to his side.

steven will fill up his phone memory just to take pictures of the dog. silly, candid ones or where he lets their furry companion model his handmade clothes.

steven doesn't like bathing them though, he'll whine when he gets himself wet plus his flat doesn't have a tub to keep the water from (mostly) getting on him.

ᴍᴀʀᴄ ꜱᴘᴇᴄᴛᴏʀ

marc loves the dog. internally. you'll rarely catch him showing the pupper affection though he'll grow into the dog soon enough.

marc is the only one who trains the dog like sit, heel, shake and all that stuff.

marc who finds comfort in the dog whenever you're not around. if you're out working or are unable to come home, he'll turn to the dog and give them love. he'll make it up to you when you're back.

marc who grumbles and frowns whenever his headmates tease him about hiding his affections.

marc who buys proper pet supplies like a leash, bowls and a pet drinking fountain.

marc takes the dog out for early morning runs.

marc who hates cleaning up after dog fur when they start shedding, mutters under his breath as he vacuums the couch, the carpet and even the bed because steven trained the dog to sleep on their bed instead of the dog bed.

marc who, funny enough, is the only one who doesn't complain when bathing the dog. probably out of military experience?

marc who only ever uses the colored towels to dry the dog and never the white ones.

marc who scolds steven for overfeeding the pup to which the latter would defend himself saying he's been trying to control himself from giving them too many treats.

ᴊᴀᴋᴇ ʟᴏᴄᴋʟᴇʏ

jake who absolutely adores the dog.

jake brings them with him whenever he works.

jake who bought a pet seat in his cab and some portable cleaning supplies in case the dog shits while they're on the road.

jake is the little shit who secretly gives the pupper extra treats without the other two knowing, not even you.

jake who dotes on the puppy, sings to them and plays fetch in parks when it's a slow day working as a cabbie.

jake, although loves the furball to bits, doesn't like it when they sleep next to him though. he overheats with the additional warmth and sticking a leg out doesn't help anymore.

jake who loves, loves, loves bringing the dog with him to pubs or any establishments (pet friendly ones). if he was single he definitely picks up ladies this way.

marc snitched on him about that thought and it resulted in you ignoring him which led to you not coming home for two days until he apologized and said he meant nothing when he thought that.

jake who teaches the dog more silly tricks like play dead, stand and talk.

jake who holds the doggo like a baby which you take notice of and comment on how he'll look good holding an actual baby like that too.

Something she hadn’t expected to happen, is happening. Joey is not in any mood to be bothered by this but, given she is in a public place and it totally being within the realm of her luck, she would probably run into someone she knew that she otherwise would not have wanted to run into.

Mercury must be in retrograde, or whatever someone at the crystal shop might say.

To run into an ex is one thing. To run into a ex that ended things because she'd committed an act of infidelity is another. On a few accounts, too. Something she holds close to her chest as in that moment of discovery she didn't want to make it worse.

Somehow, she finds herself still bitter to some degree, like Scott could've given her another chance to make it right and do right by him. Joey knows it is highly unreasonable to expect that, but love is unreasonable at points. Isn't it?

"I'm not sure if you want to sit here." She first addresses Scott without so much as a side glance. Under the canopy set up with tables underneath, it is a good place to cool down. She's there with Bella and Bowie and a portable dog bowl of water who are both relaxing after an exciting day.

"You're a long way from Los Angeles." Or has he been here all along and she's been so fortunate as to not discover it until now? "I wouldn't think a small beach town Summer Bash would bring you two hours down I-5."

Part Eight: Your kiss rips through the shadows

reminder, this is Eddie Munson A/U

I tell Eddie to meet me in the park around the corner from my house the next morning. I end up getting up at 7 am feeling a little blurry around the edges.

I drink a large glass of lemon and rosemary water and feed Chance, before doing another protective shower. My butterflies are in overdrive as I pad to my bedroom. I select thick tights, a black mini skirt and an Adventure Time t-shirt. I layer on a cardigan and leather jacket along with some pink socks peeking over my black Docs.

Chance leaps about as I begin to ready what she recognises as her usual walking bits: poo bags, portable water bowl and bottle and finally her large black harness.

"Calm down little lamb," I giggle as I pet her with one hand and slide the harness over her head with the other. Once she's all snapped in I hook her lead and we leave the flat.

Elphaba spots us and walks with us for the first street and followed us for half a street before trotting off to go back to whatever shenanigans she was up to. Chance can sense my anxiety, stopping to look at me every few feet.

As I approach the gates of the park I spot Eddie right away. He's looking in the opposite direction, standing leaning against a brick pillar, dressed in skinny jeans, combat boots, a denim jacket and a Misfits t-shirt. A cigarette is dangling from his pouty mouth, eyes covered in dark wayfarers, and curly hair in an effortless shaggy cut, seemingly grown quite a bit overnight.

A breeze rushes past me towards Eddie and I see his nostrils flare and head snaps around to me. The grin that spreads across his face as he sees me, just like I'm his favourite person, literally makes me stop in my tracks. He saunters towards me, smile beaming, cupholder with two drinks balanced in one hand.

Chance is instantly interested in the man walking towards me, I watch as Eddie puts the coffee down, drops to his knees and puts his hand out as an offer to the dog. She sniffs him a few times before knocking his hand, her gesture to let him know she wants pets. He seems to know this and begins scratching her around the ears immediately.

"Do I get a hello like that?" I say after a minute.

He looks up at me with his goofy grin, both hands rapidly scratching the rolls around her neck.

"Wait your turn," he winks at me and I wish he wasn't playing around.

He stands up and brushes the knees of his jeans, picking up the drinks before leaning over and placing a kiss on my left cheek. Intense heat and electricity happen when his lips touch my skin. I see him jump back.

"Was that..." he pauses. "An electric shock?"

"No." I manage to gasp out, the feeling spreading through my body and I feel my face flush hard.

"Does that happen... often?"

"It's never happened to me before." My voice is embarrassingly squeaky.

"Interesting." I see Eddie mull over what is being said.

Chance pulls me towards the park, no time for romantic nonsense. I let her do so and we both fall into a nice place around the path. He hands me an iced latte from a coffee shop around the corner, I thank him and he takes his own espresso cup. I notice he waits until we walk past a recycling bin before discarding the cupholder. I must have been caught smirking because he nudges me with his elbow.

"Looking after the planet is punk rock." he nods at me.

"I obviously agree, nature is where my magic comes from."

We come to the clearing and I let Chance off her lead. She starts to zoom around us as I take a big drink of my coffee.

"So, you don't sparkle then?"

He snorts with laughter, and to my surprise, he leans over and takes my hand in his. The sparks happen, fireflies under skin, but neither of us pulls away.

"Is this ok?" he asks and gives my hand a little squeeze.

There is, what feels like, a steady stream of energy running between us.

"Yes," I say, so decisively I am taken aback by myself.

We stroll around the park for a while in silence, our hands swinging between us. I feel so... fresh and charged, being in nature and also being with Eddie. I feel like a silly teenager, absolutely thrilled to be holding hands and walking around.

"And no, I don't sparkle. The sun makes me tired and weak and hurts my eyes, but no burning or sparkling."

"I want to tell you about the incident your friend told you about." I sigh.

"Lily, you don't have to do that, you don't need to explain anything." he shakes his head at me, curls tumbling around his handsome face.

"We're being honest with each other, aren't we?"

"We are."

"So a few years back, witches were going missing, being found drained of blood. The worst spate of deaths for..."

"I remember, there were talks amongst our kind too," he says softly.

"It wasn't done subtly, I know amongst vampires, like witches, it's safer for us to keep hidden."

Our walk has slowed, Chance is keeping close now, sensing the change in tone.

"I found out who it was, tracked them down to the lair and we fought. Your friend's maker told him I nearly killed him - but the truth is we nearly killed each other. I don't even truly understand what happened. He came at me, super strength and speed and I saw him wielding my friend's powers and I saw red, literal red. The haze descended over me and this pulse of power leaves me."

I don't realise I've stopped, but Eddie pulls me gently to sit down on a bench and Chance lies down by my feet.

"And we were both knocked off our feet, I got up, and he didn't. I was so weak, I literally crawled outside, I was so sure I was going to die - I managed to call someone to come and get me, and then I called the only vampire I knew and he said he'd come and get him and then I passed out.

"I woke up in a coven house a week later, my hair went white from the power drain and the colour never came back. My magick took a long time to come back, we were concerned that it wasn't going to come back. It took months for me to recover, but eventually, everything

was restored, except for my red hair."

I keep my eyes fixed on the floor, hands wringing each other as my heart is racing. I haven't thought about that night for some time and even just relaying it I feel beads of sweat at the back of my neck and my breathing comes fast.

Eddie's hands suddenly grasp mine and I look at him, his dark eyes are so full of emotion. My eyes drop again and he gives my hands a squeeze. I feel a rush of energy and emotion run between us and my heart slows.

"Look at me," Eddie's voice is soft, crooning. I lift my eyes to his. "You're safe now."

His face is so close to mine, I am swimming in the pools of midnight that are his eyes. I take in his handsome face, the stubble on his chin, I can smell him, vanilla, leather and tobacco and something else... I can taste his breath on my lips... fuck.

He pulls back, still keeping his large hands around mine.

"I use blood banks to feed." Eddie begins and it's his turn to look away as he speaks. "I swap three bags of mine for a bag of whatever they have in surplus."

I am surprised at this, but I do suppose it makes sense. Vampire blood has a lot of different properties when infused into someone it heals, and makes your bones and muscles stronger. I also know that vampire blood, when drunk from the source, and when there's nothing to heal, the blood circulates in your body and leaves you feeling, from what I hear, pure euphoria.

"To make a vampire you have to drain a human's blood almost all the way, before getting them to drink vampire blood, or a human has to lose almost all their own blood and can be transfused and the change would start."

"I didn't know about the transfusion thing, for turning I mean." I cringe at my dumb response.

"Nor did the nurse who tried to save me."

I feel my eyes widen in response, eyebrows shooting up into my fringe.

"I was overdosing, in the back of someone's van in the eighties, and they crashed, and I Went through the window and lost a lot of blood. I needed a transfusion and the nurse had a deal with a vamp going on, but he never warned her about someone who had lost so much..."

"Eddie," I say quietly, and he finally looks at me. "Did you have to deal with everything on your own?"

"No, almost. But the nurse realised what was happening to me and got in contact with her vampire contact and he came and helped me. He had an inadvertent vampire child, but I was lucky, he was a good guy."

"Was?"

Eddie lets go of my hand, stands up and stretches his legs. He holds his hand out for me and I take it, allowing myself to be pulled up.

"Come on, I'll walk you home."

I sense the subject is not being blocked, but rather shelved for now. I put Chance back on her lead and we begin to head to the exit.

"You can't walk me home," I tell him as we approach the gates, still, hand in hand.

"Oh, ok, no I get it." he stops, rubbing his free hand through his curls.

"It's not like I don't want you to, it's that I genuinely don't think you'd make it through all the protections I have up."

He finds this absolutely hilarious.

"I love that, best excuse ever." he chuckles, shaking his head.

"I'll work on taking them down-" I begin.

"Nuhuh, keep them up. You take Chance home, and I'll send a cab when you're ready. We can go for some brunch."

"Yes sir," I giggle, fake saluting at him.

My words make his dark eyes grow darker and the look on his face makes my insides twist.

"You can't play with me like that," he grins devilishly as he leans in and places a lingering kiss on my cheek.

I close my eyes and savour the feeling of his lips on my skin.

"I'll see you soon," he murmurs against my cheek before turning on his heel and walking off in the opposite direction.

We went to the shops. I got coffee.

We got a few things all for Josh! He needed some things that went on sale. I am going actual shopping with my bestie tomorrow 😄

We had lunch at Eat Grk. I had a chicken wrap. Yum.

Had an iced latte

I did my annual wardrobe clean out. Not too much this year but very committed to the “if I didn’t wear it this year it’s gone” rule.

Bowl of watermelon

Made a protein smoothie with my new portable blender I got for kk 😍

We walked the dogs

Came home and had a grazing dinner (leftover from Christmas Eve heh)

Started a new series

Life is good 🥰🥰🥰 back to the gym in the am and keen for it

My submission for #Flufftober2023 ! (@flufftober)

On a beautiful and clear spring day the BTS members were filming for what you heard was going to be a collaboration resulting in two episodes of “Run BTS!” and one episode of “The Game Caterers,” hosted by Na Young-seok. The shoot location was a large house tucked away in the South Korean mountains, surrounded by bare trees and a single road that passes nearby.

Part one of the series of games inside the house had just wrapped and the members were in the backyard of the house. The setup was very inviting and cozy, with a table set up that had a portable stove for cooking the food items that were won in the previous game. Tracing the perimeter of the yard were several seating arrangements for the filming staff and the stars. A short distance from the table there was a wooden porch swing with a vine containing orange and yellow leaves wrapping around the frame and the chains supporting the swing that could easily be occupied by three people.

The cooking table was setup for them to cook kimchi bokkeumbap and everybody seemed eager to eat after a long morning of guessing photos of celebrities and sacrificing food items. At this point, SUGA had already started frying the rice with the kimchi and the other members were scattered around the yard.

You went to every episode shoot and were well aware of the schedule. You always stood behind the cameras admiring proudly during the shoot and the director allowed breaks at designated times when the cameras were not recording. That’s when you were able to interact with the guys.

The pleasant aroma of the kimchi fried rice was wafting over and you swear your stomach growling was audible by the staff around you.

The director called for a break in filming and you wandered toward the cooking table where SUGA had portioned seven bowls of rice, one for each member.

“Ah, Yoongi. Another culinary masterpiece,” you say as you pat his right shoulder.

SUGA chuckles and replies, “it’s just fried rice.”

“Yes! But it’s cooked by THE Chef Min Yoongi!”

He smiled and handed you a bowl.

“Give this to—”

“I know.”

You accept the bowl, grab a spoon from the tabletop and walk away. Behind the cooking station was the porch swing with Jin sat on it. He was sitting with his back to one side and legs stretched out in front of him. His head was leaning against the back chain and his eyes were closed.

“Hey, handsome. How are you feeling?”

He slowly opened his eyes and blinked multiple times to adjust to the sunlight.

“No. I am not handsome today,” Jin replied as he swung his legs down and planted his feet on the ground.

“I disagree. You’re handsome every day,” you say as you sit down to the right of him. “Even if you are hungover.”

Jin playfully bumped his shoulder into yours and looked down at your hands that were holding the bowl of rice on your lap.

“Did you come over to feed me?”

“You know I did.”

Jin straightened his posture and opened his mouth wide, signaling to you that he was ready to receive the spoonful of rice. You shake your head and scoop some rice for him. Jin is staring at the spoon with wide anticipatory eyes and you can’t help but giggle at the sight of him. You slowly raise the spoon to his mouth and he eats the rice.

“Mmmm, delicious! Try some.”

“Are you feeding me now?”

“Hey! I’m the one not feeling well here!” Jin whined.

“I’m just kidding. Here, I’ll feed myself,” you say and take a small spoonful of rice.

Jin is staring at you while you’re chewing, and you nod your head at him in agreement at how good the fried rice tastes. Jin leans his back into the swing and opens his mouth again.

“Do you want me to scrounge around the house for some alcohol?” you ask as you feed Jin another mouthful. He looked aghast.

“Why would I drink MORE? Are you crazy?”

“You never heard of the ‘hair of the dog’ remedy?”

“Why would I drink dog hair? There’s not even a dog on set!” Jin almost shouted incredulously. You burst out laughing and Jin smiles at you. He loves making you laugh with his angry pouting tone.

“Yoongi-ah! I need haejangguk!” he shouts back to SUGA. No response.

Jin huffs in disappointment and puts his arm around you and rests his head on yours.

“Actually, you might just be my cure for this hangover. Your laughing makes me happy.”

You nuzzle your head into his and smile. Naturally you push back with your legs and gently swing the swing back and forth. It swings back two times, then you lock your legs to stop it abruptly.

“Oh! Sorry. That probably doesn’t help, me making the swing go. Your head is probably already spinning.”

“Yes. You made me dizzy a long time ago.”

He shifts to bury his nose into the side of your head and kisses you. You pull away to turn your head to face him and stare into his eyes. He smiles slightly and you have this overwhelming urge to plant your lips onto his soft, plump lips.

“Let’s go again!” the director announces as you begin to tilt your chin up and lean into his face.

Reality sets in and you groan. Jin laughs and puts his hand to the back of your head and leans into your face so close that you can feel his breath.

“We need to continue this later,” he says and kisses the tip of your nose.

Bought my dog one of those portable water bottles that doubles as a bowl. Car broke down so we had to walk home. I dropped it in the intersection. It got run over in the middle of the street. She didn’t even get a sip.

If anyone is in need of a good treat bag, this is my personal favorite and is on sale on Amazon for $8

I love the phone pocket in the front. I keep a minimalist wallet in the back zippered pocket. I actually use the belt clip on the back of the bag to hold a pack of unscented wipes (I recommend avoiding antibacterial or scented wipes if you feed treats from your hand) The poop bag holder in the front is great and there’s even a spot above for a small Velcro patch.

As you can see in the picture above, I like to carry one of these “mats” with us everywhere we go. It’s absorbent & thin enough to use as a towel if you need to clean up your dog or if they make a mess (such as splashing water on the floor when they drink during public access 😅) but it also has a grippy bottom so it won’t slide much when you use it as a place mat on a slick floor.

For safety, I keep a mini air horn & a mini stun gun in the other pocket (they both fit in one pocket!)

I prefer to use flexible silicone measuring cups for separating treats or you can get one that you can close which is great for stinky treats but it will also stay open for quick access (also can be used as a water bowl)

The strap has little elastic loops, which is perfect for a clicker:

Our system is very warm blooded. We tend to overheat in 80° F weather - our autism makes being hot sensory hell! Here’s some stuff you can do to keep cool; it’s been really hot lately and it’ll probably continue to be that way for the next couple months!

Stay hydrated! This one is a no-brainer and the most important thing! We have a water bottle we keep in our fridge so it’s always cold, and we always keep it topped off. We also use it to refill our pets’ water bowls, so they can have cold water in the afternoon when it gets really hot

Keep frozen treats around! A popsicle or ice cream sandwich can work wonders when coming inside from a really warm day. Be sure to eat it slowly so you don’t get a brain freeze! Our syskids like to eat frozen peas and frozen grapes - you can have all sorts of frozen treats if you get creative!

Take a cool bath or shower! This can help lower your body temperature and keep you feeling cooler longer.

If you have long hair, keep it tied up or maybe get a haircut! We have short hair, but back when we had longer hair, it always kept the back of our neck hot and sweaty 😖 Having shorter hair or keeping it tied back and away from your skin absolutely can help keep you cooler in the summer months!

Eat cold foods and things you can make without an oven/stove. Having the oven or stove on can heat up your living space, even if your air conditioner is running! Now is definitely the time for sandwiches, cereal, salads, and other cool meals that you don’t need to heat up.

Never underestimate the power of a cool wet rag on the back of your neck or your other warm bits!

Keep your blinds and curtains closed! The sun streaming through a window can really increase the temperature inside. If you’re able to, maybe hang blankets over your windows to keep the light (and heat!) from getting in

Wear light, breathable fabrics like linen or cotton, and avoid layering outfits! If you bind, please remember to take lots of breaks (even just a quick moment to breathe in the bathroom would help) - binding in the heat can be much worse than binding in cooler weather!

Plan indoor activities. If you want to go out, go to an aquarium, the mall, or a museum (please remember to mask up!). Visiting somewhere indoors can be a great way to get out of the house without overheating!

Use fans! Place a bowl of ice between yourself and a fan at home, and it’ll help keep you cooler. You could also get a fan to plug into your phone that can help keep you cool while you’re out and about!

Stick to the shade (and off of the pavement!). When going out, choose routes that have more shade access and less pavement (especially if you have dogs - hot pavement can hurt a dog’s paw pads!). Maybe bring an umbrella with you to help shade yourself from the sun!

Create a designated cool room. If your home doesn’t have air conditioning, creating a designated cool room will really help, especially during the hottest time of day! In this room, make sure you’ve covered the windows with dark material to keep out as much light as possible. If you can, place a portable cooling unit or some sort of fan inside. This way, you can trap the cool air inside the room - it’s easier to cool down one room than a whole home! Sleep on top of some blankets on the ground with only a thin sheet for cover - heat rises, so you’re more likely to feel cool if you lie close to the floor!

Play in the water! We bought a little plastic pool for like $8 from Target for our littles and our dogs to play in. Dance in the sprinklers, splash around in a little pool, or have a water fight! See if your community has a pool, lake, creek, or splash pad that you can cool off in. Remember to wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water if you’re going to be outside!

Create a cross breeze at night. If your house has been getting warmer throughout the day, at night open two windows on different sides of your home. By one window, place a fan that points inward towards the rest of the house. In the other window, place a second fan that points outside. This will help pull in cool air while pushing stale warm air out of your home. If you have a home exhaust fan, it pretty much does this same thing!

There’s definitely more things you can do to help stay cool, but we just wanted to share a few tips! Remember to Stay Hydrated and take care of yourselves and each other! Try not to push yourself to hard and remember to take breaks - autumn will be here before you know it!
