YIPPEE ok so. My headcanons are honestly pretty basic and honestly are mostly just phone guy related in general, but I feel like some of y'all might enjoy even if I know some of them are probably things other people thought of already. I like to imagine that since phone guys lack actual facial features - and hence being incapable of making proper facial expression - that their rotary dials sort of act as their "face" instead; as in, the dial shifts or turns on its own depending on their thoughts/emotions. Like, for example, the dial could do a faint and brief twitch like an eye twitch when irritated, or spin faster the more intense an emotion (depending on said emotion and/or interpretation). I also imagine that, despite typically trying to act calm and stoic (as a manager "should be"), Steven (among some other phone guys) tends to do small little nervous stims without really realizing it; fixing and/or grabbing his tie, fixing his sleeves, twirling/fidgeting with his receiver's cord, foot tapping, checking the time a little too frequently, that sorta thing. I also have that same little headcanon as many that, yaknow, phone go ring when flustered or angry enough. I think it's cute :] This one's not QUITE a headcanon, but absolute shoutout to people who bedazzle his design a little by givin him like. Gold chains on his suit and stuff. 10/10 I love it. Let that man be fashionable he DESERVES it. To those of you who's designs of Steven include little details like the chains or stickers: mwa mwa ily you're awesome /p I also imagine that all phone guys have more "clean" scars than Jack or Dave since they were fixed up in the factory and all. Other than that.. d'ya think they can like. Overheat or bluescreen, considering that, despite being phones, they still have AI and such.. suggesting they're kinda like. atleast partially a computer of sorts as well. for lack of better words. If Steven or any other phone guy bluescreened, they'd probably just be stuck playing a dial tone faintly from their receivers until they reboot. Or overheat when angry/overwhelmed/flustered enough. I think it's a silly thought hehe.. On a sidenote: YEAHHHHHH FELLOW DAVE X STEVEN SHIPPER WOOOOOO!!! As a Dave I agree, though it's sad that I never really see that much of it. Like.. is there even a proper shipname for it because I've seen a few different takes on it but I've never really seen like... one name that's especially agreed upon. It makes it hard to find content of the ship without knowin' if there's a proper tag for it instead of multiple small ones grr grr /lh -🍆

Since I'm sure there will be a lot of new people from Twitter, I want to personally say welcome, but also please don't make the shipping wars any worse. Lol

You can do that by tagging correctly, blocking people you don't like, and muting tags that upset you. Tags are like folders. When people tag correctly, it's like opening a book with only the things you like on an endless school. Very handy.

Are you making a post about your favorite ship? Excellent! Tag it correctly. Do not tag a bunch of irrelevant tags as that's considered spamming. Your tags should look like:

By the way, this isn't twitter. Tags can have spaces in them. You can write a whole ass paragraph almost. It's enouraged to do so!

Also, this isn't TikTok. "Unalive" and other censored words for the "algorithm" are dumb and pointless. There is no algorithm. Use the right words so that people can filter what they don't want to see.

Are you writing a negative post about a ship you don't like? Well that's a waste of time but you do you, just tag it correctly. Your tag should like like:

#anti-ship #dont mention the ship in any other way! It could pop up in their tags when those shippers are trying to do their own thing

Don't cross post KNOWING your post can upset someone. Don't play coy. Don't play dumb. Don't start drama on purpose. If you're bored and want some action, why not get a real hobby instead of fighting on the internet?

You know Night is never a quiet type. Like never ever. So they probably caught Lizzie's eyes at least once. Maybe she found them annoying, maybe she went "???why so loud" maybe she liked the chaotic vibe, who knows? No one except Lizzie.

There is no way Night didnt go to her out of nowhere to comment on her play. Maybe told a joke about her obvious mistake on air (there wasnt one) maybe they complimented her (with edition on how they were could do it better than her) Dont worry, without even letting Lizzie get deffensive Night did offer her a "little friendly" race.

İ call it date. Night did call it date as well.

But Night is not a too flirty type. So, whichever step they take to Lizzie would be really to know her and be her friend first.

Thankfully Lizzie is no coward. Go get your guy, girl!

Tho im not sure, that makes me believe even if she gave up on them as a partner, she wouldnt as a friend.

That leaves Night with no other choice than making her believe, that this is indeed the one once she loved.

DeathBringer thoughts, opinions and criticisms

I want to like DeathBringer as a character. When he's not with glory he can be a very interesting character. Given that I'm taking Tui's word in good faith and he is indeed meant to be around Glory's age, this would imply he is a prodigy for his age, that he has done a lot of things most dragons his age have not done or are unable to do. That is a very cool idea to think about.

However, this NEVER gets brought up or utilized and it comes across more like Tui had TOO many plans for DB, but just fumbled hard to make any of them work to the point she had to shove them aside for a winglet instead of a main line book! This winglet does fix the age situation I think, that's what I heard I haven't read it BECAUSE IT IS NOT THAT READILY AVAILABLE WITHOUT PIRATING.

Hell, I don't even like the ship that much, the Glorybasket ship, and yes I'm one who prefers that name over any other shipname for them, GloryBringer sounds cool, but as an apparently rare enjoyer of the scavenger book, I liked the Murder basket name, it's funny and cute? And I bet he prays to the moons that no one finds out about the nickname. And honestly the book wasn't that bad, most people don't seem to like it because dragons took a back seat in the book and I think that's ok! We knew about the humans existing in the world of wings of fire and finally got an idea of how their society works and I actually think that's cool as a lore buff.

As for why I don't like the ship, it's not because of the weird age mistake that happened, or the fact that he was originally sent to kill Glory and his friends. It's actually because once he's with her, he is just a simp. There is no more personality, he's just a simp. And yeah he could have been secretly a dorky assassin all along but we don't get to see that prior to them getting together, do we? Nope, not really, he's more charismatic and sassy if anything. He does nothing that plot relevant afterwards, and it's just disappointing, given they could have been a power couple that put the SASS in asSASSin.

Honestly just wasted potential over all, giving all the build up only to throw him aside like that and downgrade him. Not to mention ignoring that he is one of many nightwings who killed and hurt other dragons only for it to be forgotten and ignored with Mastermind taking the fall as the Nightwings' scapegoat. Like he was a prodigy assassin who killed and maybe tortured who knows about many dragons prior to meeting glory and all the other nightwings get punished sorta (mostly mainly only Mastermind overall) but he gets a free pass cause he's the queen's boyfriend?

Also another reason I don't like the ship is that with how simpy he is, but also how Glory seems mostly disinterested, it feels very very one sided. I've seen people throw the "but glory hides her emotions!" argument at the wall, but like ... Not really? She's more blunt and straight forward about her emotions, if she likes something she'll let you know, and if she doesn't, you also most definitely know. And she had moments of being sweet and loving to her found-family, if she liked and truly liked Deathbringer back, even if she wasn't very interested in open/public displays of affection, we'd know and have her being generally sweeter and nicer to her supposed boyfriend.

Instead it comes across as not wanting the dumb love sick idiot basicly get himself killed for him, even though he's supposed to be a very capable assassin who could handle himself just fine and would be the number one dragon to guard her overall, especially compared to the rainwings who still aren't 100% sold on the idea of hurting another dragon even if that's the best case scenario. Literally we see this in the book that they aren't still fully ready to be proper guards for queen and she decided to bench her best option.

And at worst she seems kinda actually annoyed by her advances and hasn't gotten around to telling him off yet. I don't think it's a good look that THIS is how it comes across to at least readers. At least one scene where they aren't in the public eye and her returning the advances or being more openly affectionate with him would have been nice. The idea they SUPPOSEDLY have a dragonet together in the future (Firefly) isn't confirmation as that's only implied to be in a few timelines, not all and comes across as a nod to the fan ship at best.

Like the ship doesn't bode well to me and I think is written horridly. End of the story.

As for his appearance, I like it. He's a blue toned/hued whatever Nightwing. I personally think nightwings can be any cooler, but are normally dark, often near black hues of those colors, like how crows and ravens under the right light are actually very colorful and pretty to look at. Yes, blues, greens and purples may be the most common colors, but other colors CAN exists and do so, often with white freckles being the most common to exist marking.

For the record, I think the opposite exists for icewing, being they can also be almost any color but a pale, pastel near white shade of so.

But yeah I think only one other Nightwing that's blue like this vibrantly exists, and people like to assume she's a hybrid, which I hate to death given how proud nightwings are of being Nightwing historically, I feel like intertribe couples are rare and shouldn't be the first thing to consider when a dragon looks "weird" than what's status quo. Biodiversity exists, and so do genetic mutations that exist independently of a dragon being a hybrid. A dragon doesn't need to be a hybrid to look weird or different than what we've seen a tribe to look like.

Like for example a white Nightwing can just be albino, and a black icewing could just be melanistic.

(sorry if someone already asked you this) when did you get to know bombeep and started liking it? and what made you like it out of all the fnf ships?

ok this ended up waaay ramblier than intended sorry, hopefully stuff got somewhat answered anyways lol

well my very first post about fnf on here was about asking if it would be weird to ship the two of them together, and that was on march 12, so at least since then. didn't know if other people shipped it then or not (people did but I didn't look hard enough tbh), so a couple days later I just decided to not care and made up the shipname and just went with it lol. and the fact that other people started using bombeep to refer to the ship aswell still blows my mind honestly ha

as for why this ship specifically caught my attention, idk probably bc whitty was the first proper non-meme new character new songs and story mod I saw a letsplay of, and his aesthetic and voice and songs were so good so I just grew really fond of him really fast. and ofc bf is the main protagonist character who's always there singing with dope-ass blue hair so he was already my fav before that. and sometimes in the past I've had the dumb habit of pairing up my favs in whatever fandom even if it makes no sense, and I guess it kinda ended up happening here too. though with the story stuff and them actually talking it's not completely out of thin air in this case at least lol and speaking of story and stuff, whitty was one of the first non-evil people bf had a proper shown conversation with (as far as the order I watched stuff in goes at least lol), so idk that's pretty dope. even if bf was kinda being a bit of a dick on purpose causing poor whitty to kinda loose it, not the most ideal of meet-cutes but still lol

but yeah I only got around to watch them letsplays and stuff presumably on like march 11 or so, so I was kinda really late on the fnf train overall. though at the same time if I'd gotten on earlier, maybe this ship would not have ended up my thing. so honestly I'm glad I got on when I did, it's weird to even think about shipping things differently at this point. I mean can you even imagine me shipping bf with pico? nothing wrong with the ship ofc but given how much I personally do NOT like it it's such a weird thought geez. and whitty? probably shipped with hex or something. perfectly valid pretty cute ship but personally naaah idk shipping is so effin weird man lol

(Author's note: This is a gift for the @onlytheembersremain blog. They are super awesome and nice people and I have gotten quite a bit gift art and fanart from them already.

This piece is written because of an ask that I send. I absolutely adore their Chosen Undead OC Jestin, who has long, curly, thick reddish hair and I wanted to see Solaire brushing it. They provided a drawing that overshadowed my wildest dreams, which you can find here.

I loved it so much and because I wanted to give something back to these two awesome people, I decided to turn this drawing into a fic. “What are you looking at?”

Solaire, who had been in the middle of brushing his blond, straight hair, stopped, hair brush still in hand, looking expectantly at Jestin, who felt some heat creep into his face. He hadn't meant to stare that intensely...

“At you.”, Jestin replied. “Your hair... It's the first time I have seen you with your hair down and... it reminded me of the sunlight, with its vibrant gold...”

Could he have said something more sappy? Jestin looked down on his knees, now sure that his face was flushed red, only looking up when Solaire said.

“Thank you.”

Solaire flashed Jestin a smile and then continued to brush his hair, each strand getting brought to look proper by the hair brush. Sappy or not, Solaire's hair was beautiful. His own on the other hand...

Jestin looked at the strand of red, thick curls in his fingers. His hair never had brought him much joy. It had been a constant reason for him to be mocked or even demonized. Demon child they had called him. He had his reasons to have hidden his hair under that elite knight helmet of his for so long. He only had grown it out because for one person liking it despite all odds...

“Is your hair bothering you, my dear?”

Jestin startled as he felt Solaire's hand on his shoulder, having been so deep in thought that he hadn't even noticed that he had come closer. He had his hair tied back in a ponytail, but not put on his helmet yet, looking expectantly at Jestin with this clear blue eyes of his.

“No...”, Jestin said first and then backpedalled. “Well, yes... I... never liked my hair much. It always was the reason for mockery... Solaire, be glad that you have been born with the blond hair typical for Astorans.”

“Oh?”, Solaire said and kneeled down next to Jestin, running his fingers through Jestin's ponytail. “I don't see any reason for mockery. Your hair is beautiful.”

Jestin's face had flared up again, but when Solaire complimented his hair, he couldn't help but feel like it was a farce. Something that he said only to make him feel better. “No, it's not.”, he said. “Everybody hated it. They thought that I was the reason for their misfortunes.”

“For me, there has been nothing but joy since I have met you.”, Solaire smiled, getting up, hair brush in hand. “Though I have to admit, your hair isn't that beautiful yet. It could be even prettier with a proper brushing. Do you allow me?”

Jestin looked from the brush to Solaire's eyes, then at his ponytail and back to Solaire. He looked genuine. It wasn't just a farce, Solaire really cared about him. And his hair.

“If you wish...”, he said.

Solaire stepped behind him and took Jestin's ponytail into his hands, searching for the hairband that tied it together. Once it had been removed, thick auburn locks fell down on Jestin's shoulders. When had been the last time had felt that sensation?

“When has been the last time you brushed your hair?”, Solaire said, taking a strand of Jestin's hair in his hands.

“...It has been a while.”, Jestin said, propping up his face with one hand while he waited for Solaire to sink the hairbrush into his hair. Once Solaire had positioned the hairbrush on the base of his hair and then moved it down in a swift motion, Jestin felt a painful twinge as the hairbrush got tangled up in a hair knot.

“Ow.”, he hissed and Solaire removed the brush right away.

“My apologies, my dear.”, he said, taking a step back, taking a look at Jestin's mane. “I shall be more careful...”

“Like I said, I... haven't brushed it in ages...”, Jestin murmured. “It always was really difficult to untangle it...”

“One word of yours and I will stop right away.”, Solaire said, fingers running through Jestin's hair, taking another strand and starting to brush again, with firm, but gentle strokes. A few minutes later the knot was disentangled and Jestin could feel a soft strand of hair falling down on his shoulders. He couldn't even remember that his hair could be so soft.

Solaire continued this tactic to get Jestin's hair under control, running his fingers through Jestin's hair until he found a knot and then worked on it until it was undone. There were a few twinges, but by and large, Solaire was particular gentle with brushing his hair as he searched for all the knots.

It was a long and arduous process, with how long and how unkempt Jestin's hair was, but Solaire never complained, sometimes whispering about a particular reluctant knot and often cheering about his success. It was nothing short but adorable and Jestin felt himself relax under Solaire's care.

Right here, right now, at Fire Link Shrine, with Solaire brushing his hair, he felt like he hadn't a single care in the world, other than that how lucky he was to have met Solaire. He felt himself longing to look into Solaire's face and turned his head around and once he met Solaire's eyes, he gazed at them with a loving smile, his face flushed again, but he didn't care about that particular detail. Solaire stopped brushing his hair for a second and gave him an equally loving smile back.

That moment between them, it probably didn't last longer than one or two seconds, but for Jestin it felt like a small eternity had passed. Not a single word had been spoken between them, but Jestin just knew how much Solaire cared for him and how save he felt in his presence.

After Jestin had turned his head around again, so that Solaire could continue with his work, he felt that his face was still stuck in that smile of his. He didn't care. He simply leaned back a little and enjoyed how Solaire brushed his hair. (Author's note: I asked all kind of questions about Jestin before I wrote this, so I hope I got his character down accurate. Like stated above, he isn't my OC, but one that I very much adore and I am so thrilled to see more of him and his glorious fluffy hair. Also, did you know that the shipname for him and Solaire is Sunnyfluff?)

ok so i finally took the time to properly watch d3 and i made some notes throughout, so here they are:

- i love how in d2 mal tried her best to look like and be what audrey would be bc she thought that’s what ben would’ve wanted, and now audrey is changing and looking more like mal bc that’s what she thinks ben likes

- i like what they’re doing with audrey. she does have a point: even if she kinda behaved like a bitch, she was dating ben, and mal basically just drugged him and everybody disregarded how audrey felt. it was never addressed. ben didn’t even properly break up. with her, he just started declaring his love for mal. also if audrey is the one to finally make mal face the consequences of her actions and actually LEARN then i’m down

- why are all the adults looking at mal when asking what to do?? she ain’t even queen yet, and she’s the least qualified in the room to deal with these issues. they’re both teenagers, but ben has at least been trained and prepared to be king. why are the adults so irresponsible??

- “i dont want to take away your dream” why the fuck is she prioritizing ben’s wishes?? this isn’t about him, it’s about all the innocent kids stuck on the isle!!

- ben is a bit more likable now i guess? he hasn’t done anything overly stupid and annoying yet, so that’s an improvement.

- ok i think the fact that mal now starts prioritizing auradon over the vks is basically down to society’s pressuring her. all of the core 4 were transferred to a more privileged life, but the difference is that mal basically became a public figure, and in order to stop society from scrutinizing her she became what society wanted to see. she had this theme in her outfits and presentation of this rebel, bad girl, she wears a dragon themed dress as an homage to her heritage, but she’s not a rebel. she’s exactly what auradon wants her to be, just repackaged to look super cool and progressive. evie, the girl who likes glamour and fashion, and always wanted this luxurious life is a way better representation of a rebel, since she remembers what life was for her back at the isle and wants to help those who were less lucky. mal can’t ACTUALLY represent the vks properly.

- damn i love celia she’s adorable (and dizzy too)

- i LOVE the parallels between audrey’s upbringings and the vks. it kinda blurs the lines between auradon being “the place for the good guys” and the isle being “for the bad guys”, since evil can still be raised in auradon and the isle could be home to genuinely good people (dizzy, for example). and i like how when they find out that the crown was stolen they immediately assume it was uma, not even considering someone from auradon could’ve done it.

- “so long suckers” DAMN I LOVE HER

- they ride BIKES now what a glow up

- carlos just ditching jane’s birthday is a mood

- audrey ominously singing happy birthday is sponsoring my gayness

- i love celia. did i day that yet?

- i can’t help but want to make carlos’ hair into a mini-ponytail on like the top of his head, you know what i mean?

- what the fuck did they expect when they just parked the bikes without looking after them? of course harry fucking stole them you’re on the isle.

- this entire dungeon thing gives me a disneyland ride vibe, and i dig it.

- hades not actually having the dog would make sense, since why the hell would they give him the giant dog which could potentially cause a ruckus and destroy the place? i mean, they did take away magic, so it would make sense dangerous pets would also go.

- OH FOR FUCKS SAKE OF COURSE HES HER DAD.

- ok but it kinda recontextualizes her desire to close the barrier forever, since it could read as an attempt to cut off her parents, since hades could’ve also tried to take adcantage of her like maleficent.

- “try being married to your mamma” SO THEY WERE ACTUALLY MARRIED??? this shit is like disney’s own crack fan fiction what the fuck

- i love how celia just accidentally walked in on this family fighting session and is just in the background watching the entire thing

- hades has his nailes painted??? valid

- i REALLY hope they won’t make audrey into just a “crazy ex”, bc she has a point!

- ok ben starts getting on my nerves again. “who put a spell on you?” “just give the septor and i’ll forgive you”. he still doesn’t understand that it was his fault for never addressing mal drugging him into a relationship. nor him, nor mal apologized for dismissing audrey like that. bal have some cute moments but the fact that this relationship’s fundamentally based on toxicity is never addressed is bothering me too much to enjoy it.

- what was harry and gil’s shipname again?? i forgot, i’m just gonna call them garry bc that’s fun. anyway i love them.

- UMAAAAAAAAA SHES BACK I LOVE HER

- uma is the real vk activist we need!!

- i love how the pirate crew are all chaotic neutral.

- why did nobody take evie’s gum?? don’t be mean to evie!!

- i just love the pirates. they are my fucking saviors right now.

- there’s so much sexual tension between everyone in his movie and celia is just in the background forced to watch all of it

- tbh the songs aren’t that bad so far, i didn’t like vk day, but i like the energy night falls brings into the scene, and i like this entire scene overall.

- harry’s face when evie complemented his accent is adorable.

- “i love you” “i love you” GAY. the fucking look in evie’s eyes when she said that? GAY.

- gil suggesting to play the icebreaker just to complement jay had gay energy

- celia genuinely caring about the twins and dizzy is simultaneously adorable and also breaks my heart

- “well we haven’t actually used the l word yet” doug and evie are better off breaken up. and. by that i mean only evie, i don’t give a shit about doug.

- is she actually singing a song about doug? oh my fucking god.

- JUST FUCKING BREAK UP. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT ABOUT DOUG. EVIE DESERVES BETTER.

- does disney actually think anybody gives a shit about doug?

- HE FUCKING WOKE UP

- i was waiting for him to not wake up and evie thinking that he doesn’t love her and going on about how sad she is only to then realize she is the one who doesn’t love him. like, how cool would it be for disney to leave one of their female leads to be single at the end of a movie? instead of having her realize she’s in love with him and this is true love her going through a realization that she doesn’t love him and that it’s ok? her realizing she doesn’t have to constantly be trying to look for her true love and take things slow? but no, we have to make her first proper relationship her last.

- i’m still convinced janelos is mlm/wlw solidarity

- wh- why is harry flirting with jane? wha- is this a ship now? is harry/jane a ship? hane? jarry? what the fuck?

- celia and uma eating cake together is adorable

- both uma and celia are adorable

- just generally uma eating cake is adorable

- i’m at the point where mal is all alone now, and i’m glad the theories that the core 4 is gonna divide into two “teams” based on the trailers didn’t turn out to be true. mal is probably the only one who didn’t actually change her ways as a villain but just switched sides. she’s still selfish at the core, and i like that they’re singling her out to really challenge her.

-on that note it could actually be completely fucked over and not addressed again but oh well. i’ll have to wait and see.

- i like her taking responsibility. yes, mal had a hard childhood, but she had to now put in the work to be a better person. she has a supportive environment which are her friends, so now she just has to put in some effort.

- dizzy saying “same” like that saved my life

- mal!! finally!! apologizing!! to audrey!! yes!!

- mal!! admitting!! that her own idea!! was wrong!! yes!!

- yes i approve this plan let’s abolish borders too

I honestly don’t think this was a bad ending to the trilogy. I have mixed feelings about the core 4 going back to see their parents in the end, but it was overall an enjoyable experience, and probably my favorite of the 3. I’m gonna write some more coherent thoughts on it later, since this post is already too long djdjdsks

4,5 years of Gotham in my life♥

Wow my emotions these last days. I’m not much of a text poster on this site but when Gotham ended I really felt I wanted to write this!

Gotham has been a huge part of my life for so long now. 4 years and 7 months since the first episode aired, that’s some time gosh. And so much has happened during this journey! I just wanna mention some memorable things during these years. Like remember the pre-s02x09 excitement?? And other stuffs, ah here we go!

The first trailer made me SO EXCITE, I had wanted more batman villains content for years since I have always found the batman villains squad so interesting and good and unique characters, there is so much to explore here! And so the Gotham trailer came and I just OH MY GOD this is exactly what I want!! And so it started and it was amazing. My first love was Ed, it took him his first scene in ep1 to make me go totally THIS IS MY FAV! More eps went on and I required more Ed content. But then Oswald slowly grew on me kinda out of nowhere like I wasn’t expecting it. And when amazing ep7 aired it just hit down on me from the sky, like it does when I know I got a new obsession/fandom. Oswald’s amazing scenes in ep7 and I went ”Okay this is it, I’M DEEP INTO THIS NOW AND I LOVE IT!”. In exactly THIS↓ scene/moment I basically said those words out loud and realized this is my life now, ugh also one of my fav looks I miss the bangs:

Shortly after ep7 I started shipping Nygmobblepot, since we knew who these characters were and who they will end up being it made SO much sense in this show, they were like the two familiar main villains in kinda the same age and I also loved them both so I mean it was obvious for me. Man in the beginning we were so very few in the shipping Nygmob pond, in the OCEAN of Gobblepot. It was a bit of a struggle sometimes, ppl wrote hate on my Nygmob posts n stuff shrug. And I just didn’t get how not more ppl could see it? It would make more sense if this were new characters like they hadn’t even met but since we knew this is Riddler and Penguin it just was fate for them to cross paths soon enough! We needed Nygmob content! I started making tons of my own AU:s since if the show wouldn’t give us content I would do it.

BUT we had Robin & Cory with us! Reminder that Cory invented the shipname after 5 minutes and Robin & Cory’s amazing twitter activity during s1 especially I will always remember as a fav. Remember when they we’re so into roleplaying Nygmob and spoke how Ed & Os loved each other and all sorts of things. All about going to The Foxglove together and stuff. Ugh it was amazing, I miss their interactions.

In this very smol pond is when one day my shining star @conscience-killer (aka okimi79) approached me, with this ♥ ”Sometimes I feel we’re the only Nygmobblepot shippers in the world…well apart from Robin and Cory. We should have a secret handshake or something.”

And man did we get a secret handshake! Gosh MY DEAR OKIMI! That I up til this day since then has spoken with like everyday for 4,5 years, you are amazing ♥ And in that time of so few shippers it felt even more special, to have someone else out there as obsessed as me. I’m so grateful we found each other at exactly that time and we’ve been through so much on this journey ♥.

When Nygmob in spring finally had their first scene it was so amazing and I have no idea how many times I have watched that scene to this day, and also with that the ship grew a bit yas!!

Let’s jump forward a bit. NYC Comic Con 2015 in fall, one of my fav Robin & Cory cons/interview times! Because the legendary ep 2x9 was soon upon us and OMG remember how excite they were in those interviews!?! And THEN, that fkn night THE episode aired. I couldn’t believe it was real, it was EVERYTHING we had dreamed of!!! SO MUCH NYGMOB CONTENT and so in character and gosh. Man their season 2 relationship is just so beautiful and I love it til this day and 2x9 is forever my favorite episode because it meant EVERYTHING for us shippers and more people also started seeing the connection between Nygmob and so more ppl started to make content and join in!

A time after another shining star came into my life, @constant-sinner (aka (riddlelvr) ♥ This amazing person and artist! And together with her and okimi I am part of the best trash family of three and I can’t believe I’ve been a mom (yet i’m the youngest but i’m fashion fur coat mom okay) to these trash sinners for like 4 years. ♥

Okay but remember all INSANE SMAYLOR CONTENT BEFORE SEASON 3!!? Man that was also one of the best times I had during these years. God they were so excite for their relationship in s3 and WEREN’T WE ALL! And omg Comic Con. I had my fkn header for 3 years soon lol, man that moment I remember seeing the signing booth stream all casual and Robin & Cory goes “Smaaylor!! Nygmobblepot!!! ;))” And I’m just wait WHUT omg. Their press tours with Sean is something I’ll miss even more than the episodes, always such a joy seeing those three together!

And when season 3 started it was just insane. To be honest how their relationship grew in s3 that’s how I expected it to grow after their meeting in s1, it made sense already back then. Ed admiring Oswald and sneaking to his club and Oswald would be a huge part of Ed’s journey to become the Riddler but ah well, I did my best with my AU:s back then!

And then s3 came and Gotham EXPLODED and I had no idea where all million ppl suddenly came from lol. It became huge. But since it still feels kinda close to this day (2,5 yrs though man), my most nostalgic feels will always be over s1-2 so I’m not gonna write so much about the season 3-5 times in this text. My closest to heart milestones is during the first years and now that I’ve seen all episodes I still think season 1 is the best overall, except the lack of Nygmob content ofc ;)

I’ve not just felt love for the show ofc, the show isn’t perfect. There has been serious flaws and bad writing and plot drops. Tbh s4 I just felt so NOPE about? 22 eps of waste…Like Ed’s plot for example like he barley had his own plot what happened? And we also have the q*eerbait Nygmob issue obviously. I have also felt the show has been a bit childish being -helloo- GOTHAM city we’re talking about? I think it would have been much better off with a MA-rating tbh to properly tell certain stories. After s4 though I’m glad in s5 Nygmob finally got some proper screen time being together and in character!! Like that’s how their relationship should have been from beginning of season 4, or season 1 if u ask me lol but ya know!

BUT I LOVE THIS SHOW, the amazing actors and characters and scenery and costumes!! Ed, Oswald, Robin & Cory will ofc always have the most special place in my heart ♥ The Nygmob journey in the show has meant so much to me to follow it from day one and I never knew how much this show would mean to me when I started back in the day.

This show. And not just the show itself but my journey and life around it!!? So much has happened. For one example I had made a bit of gifs before but Gotham really got me into gif making, and it’s been a joy sharing content and my Nygmob AU will always be among my most fun things I’ve done, it was like if they ain’t gonna give us enough content I WILL. It’s a fun way of gif making to manip scenes to create something new! And today I still enjoy making gifs, as you probably know heh. Thanks so much for all nice comments and reblogs through all these years ya’ll!! It warms my heart and I love to read reblog tags!

I have been at con and got to meet Robin, enjoyed so many interviews and promos, chatted with wonderful people. Every Friday night I have been up in my Europe timezone at 2am to live watch the show, the workdays after has been a bit of a struggle of being tired with going to bed like 5am lol but man it’s been so nice to follow it when it airs!

Watching together with my dearest @conscience-killer and @constant-sinner . Two of the best that happened to me during these years. These two people that I’ve spoken with like everyday for 4 years! Through Gotham finding two of my dearest friends in my life. Watching the show together and screaming, crying, laughing during this journey, about not just the show but EVERYTHING in life. They also are amazing writers and artists ♥ And also helped me endless times with gif caption when my non-native brain trying to write gif captions at 3am after the episode lol. All my love to you both ♥

THANKS TO ALL AMAZING PEOPLE that impacted me over these years. The cast and nice fandom people! My dearest @conscience-killer and @constant-sinner. And I also wanna mention dear @millicentcordelia and @selene-volturo that are amazing ppl that have been here with me since the very beginning of season 1. And they have always been so down to earth even during the stormiest periods of this show’s existence ♥ I’m so glad we’ve shared this LONG journey!

And also hugs to my dear mutual fandom friends that I’ve shared hours of conversations with over the years. Some of us maybe don’t speak as much nowadays and some of us have gone separate ways with new interests but I hope you know who you all are, regardless if we spoke yesterday or 2015. You have made my fandom time a joy!

I’m actually okay with the show ending now you know. Ofc it’s a bit sad but as I said I felt s4 was kinda stomping around in the same spot and even s5 had some fillers like they didn’t have more to do to push the story forward? The last ep was a nice easter egg wrap up for this LONG journey. And I mean shows live on with fan content, and who knows maybe it will return somehow? But it feels good they told us it would end so I was prepared for this and to say ”goodbye”. But it’s not goodbye because content will continue on this site and I’ll continue re-enjoy this show!

This is 4,5 years. In 2 pages, I could prob write 20 but ah, but i felt I got to to summary the most important things for me over these years ♥. This show and stuff that came with it will always be such a big part of my life, ALL LOVE AND HUGS!

How Not to Wingman 101 by James Madison

Summary: Madison attempts to wingman for Jefferson, but Hamilton isn’t having it.

Pairings: hamilton / madison (is there even a shipname?) & jamilton (side)

Rating: Teens

Words: 1,748

Warnings: drinking, swearing, sex talk, making out in public-level of spiciness

Note: Absolutely no one asked for this. @cybermanolo mentioned liking this pairing to me a while back and it latched onto my brain for some reason, so. Here ya go.

Jefferson downed his entire pint of lager and slammed it onto the bar counter with vigor.

“I need to sleep with Hamilton.”

James, who had been smiling apologetically at the bartender, whipped his head around to look at his friend as if he’d just grown a second head. “Pardon?”

“I need to sleep with him.” Thomas’ speech was only slightly slurred, but surely he had to be wasted to be saying something like that. “I know he thinks I’m hot from the way he stares when I reach for something on a top shelf. If we screw out the tension, maybe he’ll mellow out and stop being such a prick.” The guy actually smiled, like this revelation was something to be self-satisfied over.

James closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. “Thomas, that’s a terrible idea, and as your friend I consider it my duty to save you from your own stupidity.”

“Nu uh.” Thomas shook his head pointedly, curls bouncing. “You’re gonna help me.”

James leaned back on his bar stool and crossed his arms. “How do you figure?”

“I got you a date with Dolley Payne. You owe me.”

“We played Scrabble, I lost and she never called me back.”

Thomas shrugged. “It’s not my fault you’ve got no game. Scrabble, specifically.” He snorted at his own bad joke.

James rolled his eyes and glanced at the booth in the corner, where Hamilton and Laurens were cooped up, attempting to shoot crumpled up receipts into an empty shot glass from the looks of it. Admittedly, if there ever was an opportune moment to go through with this moronic impulse, tonight was the night - it was fairly rare for Hamilton not to be surrounded by the whole idiot brigade. “So, what, you want me to wingman for you?” he asked.

“Yeah,” Thomas nodded eagerly. “I’ll distract Laurens and you tell him how great I am.”

Nevermind, this endeavor was doomed from the get go. “That only works when you’re hitting on strangers,” James hissed. “There is nothing I could possibly say that would make Hamilton change his opinion about you.”

Thomas clasped his hands around James’ elbow and actually resorted into giving him puppy eyes. “C’mon Jimmy James, my best pal in the whole world, please just do this one thing for me, you owe me!” When he realized this approach wasn’t working, Thomas raised a skeptical eyebrow. “Unless you want him for yourself, that is?”

James shot his friend a nasty look over the rim of the pint he was chugging. “That’s ludacris. Let’s go.”

Whatever. He’d get to tell him ‘I told you so’ afterwards.

“That seat is taken,” Laurens sneered as they slid into the booth. James and Thomas both ignored him.

“Having a fun night?” James asked, diplomatic.

“It started off great,” Laurens said.

Thomas snorted. “Right, really looked like you were having a party over here. Hate to interrupt.”

Hamilton, who had yet to say anything, was eyeing them quizzically. “Did you, like, want something?”

“We’re all adults here,” James pitched his voice up before Thomas could say something snarky and make his already impossible task even more difficult. “Surely we can enjoy a round of drinks after work without acting like petty children.” He shot a warning glance at Thomas at the end of that sentence, partly to placate Hamilton. It made sense Thomas wanted him to wingman for him; as much as James sucked at flirting with people himself, working as a mediator had always been his strong suit.

Laurens opened his mouth, probably to tell them to piss off, but Hamilton raised a hand to quiet him down. “You buying?”

James sighed. “Sure.”

A round of martinis and an only semi-hostile conversation about different brands of gin later, Thomas elbowed James’ side so hard he would probably have a bruise the next day. The tipsy asshole.

“Let’s go for a smoke,” Thomas exclaimed, and grabbed John’s arm.

“Actually I vape-”

“Of course you do, c’mon.”

“Wait, what are you-”

Before Laurens could put up a proper fight, Thomas had hauled him off his seat and dragged him to the exit. Before they disappeared outside, Thomas shot an urging look to James over his shoulder: make him want me.

Fantastic.

James closed his eyes and sighed. How the hell did he get dragged into these situations?

Hamilton seemed amused, tracing the rim of his glass idly with his forefinger. He looked different in this setting than he did in the office, his tie loosened, stripped to his shirt with the top buttons undone and his hair down rather than in a slicked-back ponytail. Despite of the ever-present dark circles under his eyes and the tension he carried in his shoulders, he looked more at ease. Younger.

For some reason it reminded James of that time before their careers diverged and took them on very different paths, back when they would stay at the office together long after hours and write together. Hamilton had been very different back then, more concerned about changing the world than climbing the career ladder.

Well, lots of things had been different back then.

“You’re staring.”

James blinked. Ah, that look had always been the same, as long as he had known Hamilton. That sparkle of self-satisfied, playful amusement.

He cleared his throat and nodded to Hamilton’s empty glass. “Would you like another one?” He didn’t believe in getting people wasted and hitting on them, but Hamilton didn’t seem particularly drunk, or even tipsy. His eyes were sharp and there was only a light dusting of pink on the tops of his cheeks.

Hamilton leaned on his palm and hummed. “Nah, I think I’m good. Thanks, though.” He kept looking at James in that peculiar way, like he was figuring out a puzzle.

“You know, Thomas actually does appreciate your ideas at work. He just gets so passionate about public policy that he’s bad at showing it,” James said.

“Sure he does,” Hamilton smiled. He nodded to James’ lap. “Is that seat taken?”

“I, wh-” James stammered and blushed and Hamilton chuckled, clearly amused. James glanced to the exit, but there was no sign of Laurens of Thomas.

Hamilton started to shuffle over, sliding up to James’ side.

“You know,” James said weakly and tried to inch away from Hamilton. “Thomas had the highest GPA of out year when we graduated.”

“Uh huh,” Hamilton hummed and propped his arm on the back of the seat, behind James’ head.

“Hamilton, I-”

“Remember when you used to call me Alexander? What happened to that?”

James kept his eyes carefully fixated on his glass, avoiding Hamilton’s gaze.

“Things… changed.”

He could tell Hamilton was chewing on his lower lip. A hand landed on his knee, light. James should leave. He should. Thomas-

“They did,” Hamilton admitted. “But we’re being adults over here, right? We could pretend for a while that they haven’t, yeah?”

“Alexander,” James said because using his first name might make him actually listen. “This isn’t why we came over.” He finally managed to look the man in the eye, somehow. He was so close James could feel the heat radiating off his body.

There was something cat-like about Alexander’s smile. “I find you fascinating, James, did you know that?” Alexander traced an unintelligible pattern on James’ kneecap with his forefinger as he spoke. “Jefferson talks and postures and talks some more, but behind the scenes it’s all you, isn’t it? They’re your ideas that he flaunts around, but you’re just happy to sit back and watch, because it’s not about the glory or even the credit for you, isn’t it?”

James’ heart hammered in his throat as he tried and failed to look away from Alexander’s dark brown eyes and the soft-looking curve of his mouth. He wasn’t used to attention in general, but Alexander’s attention specifically weighed on him like a heavy blanket, like ball and chain shackled around his ankle as he was tossed into the deep end.

Alexander leaned in even further, solicitous like he was about to tell James a secret. “Do you want me to go home with Jefferson tonight?”

James looked into his eyes, steady for once, and said nothing.

Alexander seemed satisfied - he grabbed the front of James’ shirt and clashed their mouths together. James gave up on trying to pretend this wasn’t what he wanted and sank his hand into his hair. Alex hummed and opened his mouth as an invitation, and James licked into it like he was trying to get the martini he’d paid for back. Alexander’s hand squeezed on his knee and and he sighed into James’ mouth, tilting his head to slot their lips together more easily. His hair was silky and slippery between James’ fingers and he tried tugging on it slightly, experimentally, and was rewarded with a quiet, guttural moan.

He wasn’t sure how long it lasted or who pulled back first, but eventually they separated, still sitting with Hamilton pressed flush against James’ side and both of them panting slightly.

“Not bad.” Hamilton chuckled and shook his head slightly. “Not bad at all, for a filthy turncoat republican, anyway.”

James licked his lips covertly, still tasting a hint Hamilton’s strawberry chapstick. His cheeks were on fire. “Why did you do that, Hamilton?”

Hamilton finally peeled himself off James’s side, reclined against the back of the seat and smirked. “It’s basic strategy. You undermine the power structure of a fuckboy-flock by going for the second in command.”

James followed Hamilton’s gaze to the front of the bar and cursed under his breath. There at the exit was Laurens, who looked like he was about to piss himself from laugher, and Thomas who spread his arms and mouthed three words at James: what the fuck?

James honestly had no answer to that.

He glared at Hamilton, with his slightly tousled hair and spit slick lips. “That was a dick move.”

Hamilton shrugged. “What, kinda like trying to help someone to sleep with their professional adversary so they can use it against them later?”

“That’s not-”

“Anyway, I don’t fuck republicans.” Alexander eyed James with something that looked disgustingly like regret. “Thanks for the makeout session, though.”

“Screw you,” James growled and left the booth. The worst part was that suddenly he was glad his pants were such a thick material that they disguised his earlier… excitement.

“Tell your buddy that he sure as hell won’t,” Hamilton callled after him. James flipped him off over his shoulder.

I have a lot of feelings regarding S7 of Voltron, which I will word vomit in this post, and then probably never speak of again.

I’ll put it under a read more, since my thoughts are probably going to be long.

First things first, I don’t ship Klance. I don’t ship Klance in the sense that I didn’t realize it was a ship until Tumblr informed me it was, so I watched the show again, and still found no indication that it was anything close to a romantic ship. Maybe that’s just me, maybe it’s just because Tumblr has gotten into the habit of shipping the idea of something, rather than the actual ship.

I find most depictions of the ship out of character, and reaching, but I am the first person to admit that the creators, and promoters of Voltron took this very hardcore part of their fanbase, and fed into them to create a hype.

By this, I don’t mean the voice actors who shared their personal opinions on the ship, or the show, because they have zero influence as to what happens to their characters. I mean the writers, and creators of the show who have distinctly pushed the idea that it could be a ship, while never developing them, or intending to develop them in the show. It is a gross marketing ploy, taking advantage of teens and young adults who desperately just want some positive representation in modern media.

So while I don’t ship Klance, and never saw any indication of the ship becoming canon, I do understand the anger and frustration most shippers much feel at this moment. They were targeted, and baited into an idea because it fed the hype. They were taken advantage of in the most deplorable way, and that is unforgivable.

Leading into that, Allurance, and whatever Keith and Acxa’s shipname is, are shoehorned, heteronormative tropes. Allurance is the tale of the tragic, rejected hero and the girl who only sees his potential after he’s given his life to save hers, and Keith and Acxa are two lone wolves going off together, despite having nothing in common, and no noticeable interactions, whatsoever.

Though I saw Allurance coming from a mile away, right about the time Lance started admitting his feelings for her to the mice, I feel like neither of these pairings do the people involved in them justice, which ultimately is just sad. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that if these pairings truly become canon ( which I don’t think is far off from happening ), it will severely deconstruct the characters we have gotten to know over the past six-and-then-some seasons.

And then there is Shadam. Or Adashi. Or perhaps, just Adam as a character.

Where to start, other than to express my absolute anger, and distaste for the way they have treated these boys. I won’t even go in to the pat on the back the creators have been trying to give themselves in regards to Adam’s “impact” on the season, and the forceful hype they created about Shiro’s coming out. There was no coming out, there was no hype.

All we got was a disgustingly ambiguous three minute flashback, and the next episode he appeared, Adam was dead. His death wasn’t impactful, or even well orchestrated. There was no emphasis on his character passing, no mention from Sam, or any of the other characters on how this would affect Shiro, he was just another character to add onto the wall of fallen soldiers. His death was done so slyly, even, that if I hadn’t been looking forward to the development of his character, I easily could have missed the fact that it was Shiro’s fiancé dying on the job.

Now here is what disgusts me the very most.

For weeks, ever since SDCC, we had been hyped up for proper representation. The way its creators spoke about representation, and the way it would be depicted, led us -- the fans -- believe that there was going to be decent development for these characters. That they were going to be treated with the dignity this community deserves.

Instead the show told us that it’s okay for us to die, as long as it ticks the check box for underrepresented communities, in the most ambiguous of ways. It told us that being gay is okay, but only quietly. Only when no one knows. Only when one of them survives, only to never mention, or be represented as a part of our community again.

Shadam is queerbaiting, because ultimately, there is no depiction of their relationship. Ultimately, there is no relationship. There is no emotional connection between these characters, because of how the show has decided to portray them. Shadam, is a Sham because of what it represents, because of what it tells its young, LGBTQ+ followers, and because of how both halves of the pair have been treated throughout the show.

Is there a way for Voltron redeem itself?

Possibly. Adam being alive due a miracle might be one of them, but I’m not keeping my hopes up.

I will probably watch season eight, because I want to know how it ends, but the emotional connection I felt, the excitement I had for Adam’s appearance, that flame’s gone out.

Ultimately, I am sad, disgusted, and disappointed.

Don’t tell us you will represent us, only to treat us in the dirtiest, undignified ways.

We are not your representation check box.

We are not your free promotion, and hype.

We are not your bait.

That’s it.

Yes and no. See, I originally didn’t intend to create Braig as a character at all. In fact, he was Rodi’s idea. Way back in the day, my main blog was over at @asiifisms. Rodi, at the time, had a bunch of muse for her Obi-Wan, @highgrcund. We had our boys chatting in a thread, and they got on well enough, and we got to talking. Rodi suggested an AU where K/H Braig was Obi-Wan’s padawan, and, well.

At first, he started as just an AU. But then we decided to make him younger to fit the AU, and that changed him a bit; then we got to talking about upbringing, and that changed him a bit. Then we talked about his education, and that changed him a bit. And then he started interacting with more people, and I got more into the SW lore and universe, understood more about the Order, and more and more people ended up falling in love with him and he just– Basically, a lot of things happened to change him from that AU. So I made him his own side-blog, and then his own full blog, and now, the only things that are the same are his name and I guess his scarf? And the scar he gets across his face.

I originally considered changing his name, once I finally realised that he was nothing like my King/do/m H/eart/s boy. His new name was going to be Bréan (Pronounced BREY-on), but I never went through with it. So many people already had custom tags with his name in it, and we had so many nicknames made (Braigimus, Braiggo, Braigos, Braiglet, etc), and shipnames (Braigsoka, mainly; We could’ve made Bréba, probably, but I’m not sure it looks quite as nice as Braiba) that wouldn’t have worked, and so many reasons I never went through with it. (Sidenote: I recently started listening to the broadway OST of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Claude Frollo has a brother named Jéan, pronounced almost the exact same as Bréan, and let me tell you, that threw me for a loop.) After I decided I didn’t want to change his name, I thought to myself that I still really liked how ‘Bréan’ sounded, especially if you paired it with Braig - Braig andBréan. For a time, I debated giving Braig a Force-Sensitive identical twin brother, with whom he got up to shenanigans with, before Bré left the Order, fell to the dark, became a Sith, and one inevitably had to kill the other, because I’m awful. After that, I decided that Bré would be a non-Force-Sensitive twin of Braig who still lived with either their father or their mother. Then I made him older, since I thought that would be a fun dynamic, then I made him look less like Braig, I kept him as Braig’s moral opposite but in different ways, threw him in the exact opposite living conditions (a slum in the Outer Rim vs. the Jedi Temple on Coruscant), renamed him to Karvan, and made him Braig’s half-brother by a different father. They don’t know each other exists, and don’t have any reason to think they’re related, when/if they ever meet.

So his name stayed the same. He loses his scarf when he’s about 16, but has it before that. His scar’s… Mostly the same, except he only has the one visible one, and his goes down past his jaw onto his neck, while KH Braig’s doesn’t, and the origins are from two very different events. But, I feel like I can’t possibly discredit the influence my trash son had on this sweet boy, and how - I’m not sure this counts - he was the inspiration for Braig in the early stages of his development. Sort of.

A lot of Braig’s ‘mannerisms’ have been inspired by Obi-Wan: His love of tea, his penchant for proper etiquette and manners, the way he tries to straighten his appearance out and avoid looking too scruffy, and the way he strokes his chin (an invisible beard) when he’s very deep in thought. A lot of this comes from how Rodi and I wrote him as being raised largely by Obi-Dad since day one; Papa had a lot of influence on his boy, in-canon and out, so it makes sense to me that he’d pick up on things dad did. Honestly, a lot of this wasn’t intentional, but rather something that happened over the course of our writing together, so I suppose that counts.

Braig’s hairstyle, as he gets older, was inspired by Qui-Gon, but you already know that. Rodi honest to god messaged me in the middle of a skype chat saying she’d been thinking about how Braig would look with a Qui-Bun and attached this sketch:

And I was SOLD. Absolutely, 100% sold.

(If you can’t tell by now, whenever I say Rodi has 50% custody over Braig, it’s not as much of a joke as you’d think. He wouldn’t be who he is without her. [Neither would I, but that’s beside the point.] Hell, he wouldn’t even exist. She’s the one who even got me watching TCW in the first place.)

(Rodi probably has just as much if not more influence on this boy’s appearance than the original K/H character did.)

I don’t remember if it was my or Rodi’s idea to make him a Force-Healer; I just know it came up in a chat we were having. And I know making him a doctor changed how I envisioned him, but making him a Force-Doctor even more so. Because he had to be someone who the Force would… Choose, for lack of a better word, to be a healer. Especially once I did more reading into healing - he had to be someone who could and would focus enough, who had the patience to do the necessary meditation, and so on and so forth. So I think that had something to do with it all, too.

He’s indigenous because some nice anon suggested it ages back, after asking me about his real-life race and me answering I hadn’t decided. (My K/H boy is latinx.) Heidi, wherever she ran off to, suggested Booboo Stewart as a faceclaim, and we all know how perfect he turned out to be. So that wasn’t really inspiration, either. It just happened.

He’s as cuddly as he is because adults showered him in affection when he was a baby and I guess nobody ever stopped. It started out just with Obi-Dad, of course, but has since spread to Shaak, Eeth, Yaddle, Mace, Depa, Quin, A’sh, and so many more. So nobody ever weaned him off the cuddle bug, so now he snuggles everyone he’s comfortable with.

I don’t know where his love of flowers came from; I guess that just happened. I do know that he got his journal, which is now his most precious belonging, from Obidad, in another skype chat with Rodi. I know he can heal without the Force, using either ‘standard’ or herbal/natural medicines, because Cad and Hora taught him. I know he can play holochess because of Obi-Dad and Mama Ti, and cards because of Xann and the folks at Aruk’s bar, and he’s learning how to cheat at cards from Quin, because of course he is. I don’t know why he likes stars so much, but I know Obi-Wan takes him stargazing, sometimes. He likes getting his hair brushed out because Obi-Dad and Boba and Cody do it for him and it’s relaxing. He knows Vapaad because Mace decided to teach him, Tusken from A’sharad, Chaulis because of Nihrik and Reyvahl, and Mando’a from Bes’laar and Wolffe and Cody and Boba and Satine. I don’t know why he likes reading so much or why he so desperately wants to be published in the Archives, but I know Jocasta has encouraged that greatly. He likes lullabies because of Shaak and Obi, hot chocolate especially because of Shaak and also Hora, and operates under the assumption that he can get away with murder because apparently it’s true.

To make one (1) soft boy, it takes a village, not a Batman.

Honestly, a lot of his growth and development has come from interacting with all my partners on this blog, and I couldn’t be more thankful. You’ve all helped bring him to life and develop this intricate canon and flesh him out and just, wow.

But enough of that.

The biggest inspiration for Braig? My dojo. I’ve been training in various martial arts for fifteen-plus years now, and we’ve always been harsh on our traditionalism. We actually had the oldest living student of Yagi Meitoku visit us not so very long ago who’d been training for sixty years (Not sixty years old, he has been training for sixty years), and he said, of all the schools he’s been to, ours had the most similar energy to Meitoku Daisensei’s, so that was really cool for us; Our grandmaster of kung fu (who’s also grandmaster of the Shaolin Fist in Asia) has said that our school has kept our forms closest to the patterns/ways he first taught it decades ago, which is also really cool for a few reasons. We’re HUGE on maintaining tradition, right down to the way we take our jackets off (that’s right, you can take your jacket off wrong). It’s pretty obvious that the Jedi are heavily, HEAVILY influenced by East-Asian ideals. So I thought it only make sense that I put dojo culture into this kid. The self-imposed perfectionism over his forms and kata, the dedication he has to his tasks, the way he tries to present himself to the general public, how he handles and treats weapons, how he rarely if EVER crosses his arms, how he fixes his posture, the playfighting he does with his close friends, hell, even how he stands when idle (a loose approximation of ‘parade rest’) all comes directly from my dojo. His philosophies are MASSIVELY dojo oriented. Even the fact that he just wants to keep people safe comes from something my Hanshi told us years and years ago at a Ni Nen Keiko that really stuck with me for some reason: “The strong must serve the weak, not the other way around.” That is a MAJOR influence for how Braig views the world and his role in it. So if you talk to him about philosophies, or ask him for an Aesop’s-Fables-esque story, he’s probably gonna say something I picked up over at the dojo.

I teach there, too, I teach tiny children and pre-teens. So a lot of baby Braig’s ways of expressing himself comes from them, they’re how I understand tiny children operate and thus are my references for writing a tiny child. That, and my brothers (also dojo rats like me).

Honestly, I think that’s why I never lose muse for Braig. I go to the dojo at least three times a week, every week (perhaps two on weeks when we’re closed for long weekends), and every time I’m there, if he’s been fading, this boy comes right back, because that’s him. This is going to sound majorly cliche, and it’s not really a character, but he’s been inspired by the dojo spirit, and it’s constantly being renewed, so, so is he.

So, tl;dr, he’s not really inspired by any specific characters, as far as his OOC creation goes. Or maybe he’s been inspired by a bunch of them. Depends on how you read it. But I’d say he was inspired more by lessons, and philosophies, and interactions with the many people who have come together to shape him and his life into what it is, now.

i wanna read other people’s meta about gotham but all i can find is ed and oswald and their horrible shipname i dont bother learning how to spell and honestly i have nothing against the ship and i actually find it really great that the writers made a decades-old a-list comic character gay in the show just like that. but i just. dont care about them. and it seems they’re all anyone in this site who watches this show cares about.

i wanna read about what people think of so much stuff on this show that i don’t have enough comic knowledge to talk about myself.

bruce’s writing is amazing (as is david’s acting) and he's undeniably close to become batman in that aspect but he's only 15 and hasn’t even had proper training yet. is the ra’s al ghul plot gonna result on him going to nanda parbat and get his training there like in the tdk trilogy? is he gonna travel the world beyond that? are they gonna show it? is there gonna be a time jump?

if bruce goes away are him and selina not gonna talk during this time period? are they gonna loose contact and later meet as batman and catwoman and fall for each other all over again? she doesn’t seem actively in the way to become a cat burglar now, her involvement with tabitha and now crazy!babs + her seek to “being respected” actually seems to put her in the path of more dangerous stuff. her connection to cats seems to have been forgotten, almost as much as her “Cat” nickname from the first season.

ivy is a fucking mess. the writers gotta have some deep hatred of her because i’ve never seen a character so popular be so constantly disrespected. they changed her name, killed her parents, dumbed her down, did that stupid aging-up plot so they could have her seducing men and are apparently already giving her her powers. i thought they were gonna have her adopting a new identity (pamela isley) after being aged up but that stupid plot wasn’t even useful enough to fix this other stupidity. her characterization doesn’t seem to line up with any ivy i’ve seen in other medias nor to be heading that way. her love for plants is only brought up when they feel like it. also there’s not a chance they’re planning on sending her to college. all i can do is hope that “ivy pepper” ends up not truly being poison ivy, despite the promo posters for s1, and pamela isley is out there somewhere in gotham.

barbara is another mess. her characterization was butchered even further than ivy’s (see: this post) and this pisses me off endlessly because, as stated on the post, she was one of my favorite characters. but the real question her destroyed characterization brings is: what does this means for barbara gordon? is she simply not gonna exist in this universe? is she not gonna be related to jim à la batman & robin? is she gonna be jim’s daughter with someone else and named barbara as an homage after a redemption arc? that would be kinda weird, specially if said someone else was lee. and neither jim nor babs seem to have any siblings to tragically die and leave their daughter to their brother/sister who would then die too and leave her to be adopted by her former fiancé. is a redemption arc possible at this point? i personally don’t think so, they threw that chance away when they gave her her real personality back after waking up from that coma, only to have her go back to stabby babs.

literally what the fuck happened to renee????? she literally disappeared when they decided barbara wasn’t gonna be gordon’s main love interest and didn’t need her for the drama anymore. is she really The renee montoya? isn’t she too old for that? could she be the aunt of the real renee, just like we had valerie vale on the show? i mean, james and barbara gordon literally named their kids james and barbara gordon, so it’s not like that’s impossible.

and most importantly: when is gordon growing his mustache
