I only attended 1 (one) of my group's DnD sessions. My new favourite hobby is drawing their bbeg in maid outfits.
I do not dare show it to their dm.

Interrupting my semi hiatus to have a quick nerd happy dance day.
I got an owlbear plushie!!! And it's the cutest! My DND group beware!
(I'm melting over how adorable and soft it is!! Taking name suggestions because I'm bad at naming things XD)

Alfred and Matthew like to come up with DnD campaigns together and invite other nations to play with them. Matthew’s always stuck as the forever DM while Alfred is always playing some sort of fighter/barbarian/ranger character with little deviation. They only have a 50/50 chance of letting Arthur join because he can get annoying with constantly correcting certain mythical creatures and keeps bringing up Tolkien's works to which the two have to remind him that DnD isn't just British fantasy.

Actually violet raises a good point if she is a fighter I can do a pool stick that is a halberd and use the polearms master feat extra attack to stamp people with the chalk side of the cue. Devious smile.

Funniest bit of the dnd movie is Xenk clearly being an NPC the DM introduced for lore and plot purposes who’s a competent fighter because of course he is, his reputation and backstory require it. But whoopsies the DM made him too powerful, the whole party likes him, and now they want him to come with to fight the BBEG which will completely and utterly fuck up the encounter balance
So instead of there being any actual plot reason he can’t join Xenk just says “I can’t. This is something only you can do.” And then walks off, never to interact with the party again because the DM just knows those little shits will find a way to use their OP creation against them

Specifically D&D™️ things about that new movie that I enjoyed very much
The entire party having low intelligence/wisdom bc let’s be real who doesn’t have either one of those as their dump stat
Receiving a magic item from the DM -> forgetting about it -> a party member going WAIT DONT WE HAVE THAT -> everyone using the shit out of the magic item and completely wrecking the DM’s plans
Travelling between locations that are geographically days/weeks away takes <5 minutes because the DM doesn’t want to do random encounters + the party doesn’t have a ranger who needs to feel useful by tracking
No healer + no rogue/ranger = everyone is constantly exhausted and has no idea of the traps/monsters in their surroundings ever
Druid being the most OP member of the party
The DM’s friend/sibling coming over to play their high level paladin from another campaign for an afternoon and then just noping out
The DM planning an elaborate battle arena with multiple well thought out stages and the players immediately find a way to circumvent it

OOC: So DND night is supposed to be fun...
I killed my first PC as a DM tonight... And it's breaking my heart cause they aren't coming back. (Player decision).
Does Player characters getting killed get any easier... I mean I knew it would maybe happen and it was a very fun session but it hit hard.

The DM describes how there is a “No Changelings” sign on the door to an inn due to many people believing them to be evil due to past crime groups. The group goes into the inn, before uncovering that the innkeeper is in fact, three changelings shapeshifting to take the form of the real (deceased) innkeeper.
Ranger: Guys! We need to kill them! DM said they’re evil.
Warlock 1: Yeah, I’m with Ranger, they’re literally impersonating a dead man.
Warlock 2: I’m gonna set the whole inn on fire, and hear them all scream. For justice :)
Bard (who is secretly a changeling and sweating anxiously): ERM CAN WE CALM DOWN FOR A SECOND?
Warlock 2, disappointed: Aren’t you chaotic neutral?
Bard: For MISCHEIF, not MURDER
