Update on the garlean themed stl files:

So I have been working overtime, and had to prioritise commissioned 3D prints and their modelling. I am trying to catch up to myself. (I work at a company, and as a side gig modelling and printing custom stuff. (Mostly small things for appliances that are not sold seperately anywhere or custom made toys))

Unfortunately I am working on getting a driver's licence too, and trying to get into uni, which leaves me no time for many passion projects. Sorry.

Going to try to have some progress by next month!!

had another wild ffxiv dream this time featuring the scions getting brunch at an ihop except they brought zenos with them (no one seemed happy about this) and he was wearing his full armor from stb and poor thancred and urianger were crammed into the booth on either side of him being poked by it and thancred wasn't allowed to stab him because ryne told him not at the breakfast table. y'shtola was sitting in, like, some impossible dimension that can only exist in dreams where she had tons of space to herself. anyway the waiter shows up to take orders and zenos of course goes off on a monologue i thankfully don't remember but all the scions are sitting there cringing and alisaie has her face buried in her hands and y'shtola i think somehow soundproofed her interdimensional seat (and also already had pancakes???) and the poor waiter finally leaves except zenos never actually managed to order anything so when everyone gets their food he's just sitting there, perplexed, watching everyone else eat and then he tried to take some of alisaie's toast but she stabbed him with a fork the end

I recently found out Zato 1 exists and like how could I not make this Zenos doodle. My hand was forced.

Alternatively, these test prints are neat decoration on flat stuff.

(of course once I fixed all issues and started doing the models which the designs goes on I'm putting them up as free stls! As well this sigil by itself.)

Update 3: I have repaired my 3d printer and thus began test prints of how small is too small for details to remain intact.

It looks to be fine when all of it is about 5,5 cm long. It will be good for brooches, pins and jewelry for sure (when I attach it to the correct bodies that are useable for such). When printed bigger for some reason it has holes (which I have no idea how they got there for the topology wouldn't allow such). I'll look into fixing it by remodelling the whole thing in autodesk for bigger designs, like the mentioned box, and jewelry tree.

The level of definition is even fine on a 1 centimetres long model, despite it being so tiny. This could make an interesting pattern.

Any more ideas on what this model could go on for 3d printing?

Earring/jewelry stand (garlean symbol)

Earrings of various symbols/armour pieces (mainly 2d dangles)

A small box with working hinges as per printed with said symbol slapped on it and various details on sides (takes the longest to make)

I noticed there aren't many models up on the web that I could use not just display, so you know... I wanna do my thing. Create.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the Ancients choosing to live solely for the sake of the star, except their over-emphasis on their duty leads to Hermes's crisis and through him their downfall. On the flipside there's nothing inherently wrong (putting aside all the atrocities for one second) with Zenos choosing to live solely for his own pleasure except that it's shown to be a lonely and empty existence.

I hate criticisms of Hermes that blame him for being too sensitive or too depressed, but if there's any fault that he committed it's that when he had his whole existential crisis, he chose to make Meteion to find answers for him rather than find them for himself, and then accepts her answers without arguments when she returns. Shit, even Zenos understands that the meaning of life, of each individual's life, has to be decided by them:

Endwalker shows you a variety of potential answers to the question of meaning, but you don't get to choose from them. To explain, when Venat asks you how your journey has been you get interrupted before you can answer. When Zenos asks you whether you thought life was a gift or a burden, you are also unable to answer. It would be impossible for the game system to account for all the potential answers one could choose to either question, and forcing you to choose from a small list would essentially railroading you into understanding the story a certain way. I think what Zenos says here is a large part of Endwalker's existential thesis: That you have to decide for yourself.

(wait, does that make me a hypocrite then for trying to explain the meaning of a story who's meaning is to find meaning for yourself? AGH)

Regarding your post about 3d prints: how about clothing buttons or brooches? I love the idea though!!
