The exhaustion that had been bearable the previous night was nearly knocking her out this afternoon as she helped decorate Jin’s parents’ house.  They were having a few extended family members over for dinner, and as always, the house had to be in perfect Christmas condition.

“Do you need a nap?” Jin asked, resting his hands on her shoulders.

Even though she was at eye level with him, she felt small in that moment.  She was so tired, and she wanted nothing more than to collapse into his arms in that moment.  She stared at him for a few moments, considering her answer to that question.

Jin didn’t give her the opportunity to answer, though. “How about we go lay down for a few minutes?”

Once the two of them were laid in bed, Jin spooning Ashley, she realized that she was even more exhausted than she’d initially thought.

“Are you falling asleep already?” he chuckled.

“Hmm…how’d you know?”

“You’re getting heavier on my arm.  That always happens when you’re falling asleep.”

“Ah.”

She didn’t even know what to say to that.  He was too attentive for her to keep this secret for much longer.  She rested her arm on top of his over her abdomen.

“I’m tired,” she admitted.

“I assumed as much.” He was smiling against her shoulder. “Take a nap.  We can leave the decorating to Tae and Amber.”

That didn’t seem very fair to them, but she was too exhausted to argue with him at that moment in time. “Ok.”

“Still don’t know why you’re feeling bad?” he murmured as he nudged his nose against her ear.  He wiggled his hand out from under her arm and reached up to rest his hand against her cheek. “You don’t have a fever.”

She hummed, too tired to give him an actual response.

I still got a lot of thoughts about The Devils Playhouse much like everyone else but spoilers for the ending

So I just replayed season 2 and so quite obviously there's a hell and a lot of jokes about Sam and Max dying soon, even Satan is like "you two will be seeing a lot more of me soon". Soo...did max #1 actually go to hell after his death in 305? Or was this changed do to the fact that he ultimately sacrificed himself? Because hell is clearly easily accessible to them even when alive, I would think that would be the first place you'd check for your friend you know was going to hell when they died. I mean Satan kinda owed them one both for the amount of souls they send there and for the poppers incident.

So, clearly though Sam couldn't find where his soul went, or he didn't think to look ? The former implies his soul either didn't pass on (#hauntingseason), went to heaven (as much as I like him, UNLIKELY), or possibly his soul was lost in space. Which is a sentence I never thought I'd say but here we are.

Clearly some ghosts can be seen, right? Dr Bosco was the most prominent, but lest we forget the duo also have souls seen in Night of the Raving Dead (who are total snobs). Sooo where the fuck did it go? Well it's possible that we just can't see it. Dr Bosco was attempting to clone Max a new body by the end, and I assume she thought that's where his soul would relocate. That or somehow she was planning on crafting an entire new soul. But I doubt that, I figure maybe they would use the same process she used to get her body back. But it failed because his DNA is "too weird". So it's possible that Max #1 is haunting is friend for the rest of his life, how sweet I think?

Alternatively, he could have just gone to heaven, a place we have Not Seen in universe and therefore would not be immediately accessible. The only reason I'm thinking this isn't the case is simply because, uh well he was already going to hell for so many things, momentary selflessness doesn't carry that much weight. But let us consider it for a moment; Max does actually give a shit about people despite his jokes and quips about lack of morals and conscious. He just seems like he prefers not to show it (eww mushy feelings. I'd rather you stab me). And while having affection towards certain people (note I'm literally just referring to Sam, Geek, and Sybil. Perhaps a few others) doesn't absolve you of arson, murder, assault, robbery, etc. It does add something to the fact that he wasn't just fucking evil. And, taking into account that he sacrifices himself for Sybil and probably most of New York considering he probably would have killed just so many people when he died, I think It could perhaps balance it out. So his soul might be enjoying an eternity in heaven with an angel version of Sam, until Sam #1 dies and replaces them. How cute.

Or his soul could be lost in and/or shattered across space or a different plane of existence á la 304. Which um. Is just sad to think about. I don't know about you but having absolutely no afterlife would probably be worse than one in hell. Or maybe he's conscious in space drifting aimlessly and sadly. Wow this short stupid essay kinda got sad fast.

Anyway, I guess the conclusion could always be "he's in hell Sam just never thought to visit" but uh, that's stupid and i hate that. I'll probably be drawing some ghost max soon. Perhaps he is hanging out with Sam #2 watching over and waiting for their specific partner.

He left behind two parachutes and his clip on tie.

            The FBI launched a manhunt in the area where he jumped out of the plane but found no leads. Cooper had bought a ticket in the name of D. Cooper, either Dan Cooper or Dale Cooper. The male had brown eyes, well-spoken, and a bourbon drinker. The FBI believed he wouldn’t have survived the jump.

            In 1980, Brian Ingram, aged 8 and his family were having a picnic by Columbia River near Vancouver, Washington. As they were trying to clear a spot to build a campfire, Brian unearthed a packet of money in the sand in $20 notes which matched the numbers of the ransom money which were handed to Cooper. The FBI searched the site but found nothing else. They found a DNA sample on the tie but it didn’t match up with any suspects.

            In 2011, Marla Cooper, contacted the FBI and told them that her uncle, Lynn Doyle Cooper, who was a Vietnam veteran was D.B. Cooper. She said when she was aged 8 he came home injured in 1971 and claimed he was hurt in a car crash. He told the family that their ‘money troubles are over’. He died in 2011. The FBI couldn’t connect him to the hijacking.

So we all know how the ending goes. Max dies, they try to make him come back by creating a clone from his DNA, but the DNA can’t be older than a week. They use some of the monster Max DNA, but it doesn’t work, because its “too weird”. Sam then does the big sad sad :( and boom the time machine comes with alternate past Max. And they continue their lives like nothing happened. 

Important question: Is Max’s DNA too weird, because he turned into a monster or is his DNA normally weird???????

Because IF it’s because of the whole monster thing, couldn’t they just take the alternate Max’s DNA and make a clone???

AND THEN DO THE SAME THING WITH SAM? 

SO BOTH OF THEM COULD GET THEIR SAM/MAX BACK???
