Record Experimental Data
How to Record Sensor Data without expensive Hardware and Software
In this short article, we will go over a very cheap and easy way to record your micro-controller (Raspberry PI or Arduino) sensor data. By cheap, we mean 100% Free thanks to Farrel or upgrdman on YouTube. You will, of course, have to acquire the hardware needed.

i dont really consider myself to be punk or grunge or goth or whatever. just a vague alternative soup. but ive never felt myself more comfortable or fitting into subculture than when i started realizing i did not have to spend a ton of money to 'look the part.'
a good 85% of my wardrobe is shit i got at thrift stores. i've started making my own jewelry. the base of my battle jacket (a sturdy, oversized denim jacket) i got for free cuz it was (accidentally) stolen. the only time i really shell out any decent money is for good shoes and handmade patches/jewelry from people on etsy.
diy can take time and resources but i guarantee the stuff you make will look far more "punk" than any pre-patched $200 jacket you buy on torrid. also its fun.

Some recycled bottle cap pins I made :)
The string ones were from some old thrifted curtains
[Image ID: 8 homemade pins. Five of them are bottle cap pins. One is a large green pin woh a white spiral, one is a large darker green pin with a sunflower, one is a smaller anarchy symbol, one is a red one with they/them pronouns written on it, and the fifth one is a skull with eyes. The last three pins are string tassels attached to safety pins. End ID]

See, I always advocate for people to do body modification safely and with a professional, but I have to admit, there's something so freeing about doing body mods (safely) on yourself. It's such a grounding experience that deserves recognition and harm reduction. It's not inherently bad, but you deserve to know all that goes into it, you know?

i know im perhaps somewhat oversensitive about this personally but its just frustrating to see people act like the two options when it comes to discussing medical transition are either fearmongering or pretending it’s totally nbd at all. it is a big deal lol it’s not wrong or cruel to acknowledge this. in fact i think it’s wrong snd cruel to propagate the idea that medical intervention is less of a big deal than it actually is which is how you end up with so many young people not really having a good grasp on what hormones/surgery involve. like thr whole thing of wanting to be able to pick and choose which effects you get from hrt which is impossible. or not realising which effects are/arent reversible. not understanding the potentially permanent potentially life-altering side-effects. not to even start on how many many young people going on hormones under “informed consent” are not only ill informed but in states of extrmely heightened emotion/distress when giving said “consent”. like “i need this or i will harm myself” does not indicate someone actually needs that particular intervention it indicates that person needs serious support before they can make a proper decision. it’s just grim sorry. and it is especially frustrating when youve come out the other side of this and see so many people not taking it even slightly seriously

Sorry to everyone who follows me for silly drawings! I haven't been posting much as ive been working on making a customisable person crochet pattern for the last few months, here are prototypes 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3! 0.3 is my first attempt at a vault suit
No pattern yet but details \/
I was very sad by the lack of fallout 4 crochet patterns that were not vaultboy and was like oh wait I can attempt to do it myself!!
Once I've got the basic pattern locked down, then I'm going to work on making it customisable so you can make different shaped people, and then I'm going to make various clothes and things! It will mostly be fallout at first as that's why I started this. Once ive gotten the pattern complete im going to make various characters from fallout 4!
I also hope to make the pattern customisable, shapes such as muscular, skinny, fat, tall, short, other customisations such as different hairstyles, noses and ears, and other humanoid creatures such as supermutants, elves, dwarves, tieflings, dragonborn, khajit ect.
will be posting the pattern once I've gotten it to a point that I'm happy with it!
0.1
My first attempt at making a complex crochet project without a pattern. Lots and lots of undoing. It's not very good yet and not symmetrical, a great learning experience though like that what I have been using as a single crochet is actually half double crochet, so these patterns will be completely in HDC. The hands and feet are good and have been carried through so far and will likely remain unchanged for the final pattern. Hair is crocheted separately and sewn on, also not great.
0.2
Fixed a lot of the really obvious issues in 0.1 such as adding a chin, elbows, and slightly better proportions. Had to completely change the shoulders as the neck was a big cone lol. The legs are now the same length. I made a mistake in my counting and the legs are different sizes at the hips. Made a nose and ears. Long hair is just the edges as there would have been too much bulk if I had filled the whole scalp.
0.3
Improvements and new mistakes here. Switched to a smaller hook size (3mm) for density. vault suit is ok, need to work on neater colour changes, The first attempt at incorporating hair into the head resulted in receding hairline. Focusing on colours and proportions resulted in torso and legs having too much twist to them. Increased leg length, torso is too small compared to body I think. I do like the beard and moustache.
Planned improvements for 0.4
Fix torso and leg twisting, increase forearm length, larger torso in proportion to the rest of the body, slightly rounder head, focus on getting shape right before designing outfits.
It might be ambitious but fallout brainrot will keep motivating me haha

I've seen some discussions pop up about gender dysphoria and how it's treated and pathologized, and in my opinion, gender dysphoria is a real feeling in that many trans people are dysphoric, but that medical professionals (notably cis ones) only hear what they want to hear. When it comes to gender dysphoria, I don't think it is inherent to being trans, but there is correlation between being trans and having gender dysphoria. I also think that dysphoria is exasperated when gender roles are so tied to sex and personhood - in my opinion, I think a lot of people's dysphoria may be eased in environments where perceived gender deviance is not seen as horrific or undesirable.
Basically:
1. Gender dysphoria is real and certain aspects of one's culture or environment can make those feelings more persistent. Gender dysphoria can look different between people, and that doesn't mean that one person's dysphoria is worse than another person's, or that one person's dysphoria is "right" while somebody else's is "wrong".
2. Gender dysphoria is tied to transness in a way that I think only pathologizes transness, and gender dysphoria shouldn't need to be proven in order to transition (socially, medically, any way)
3. Gender dysphoria can be a dynamic issue for anybody who has it, and a person's needs may change as their dysphoria changes or becomes lesser
4. Gender dysphoria is something a ton of people deal with - trans or no. Associating dysphoria with only trans people doesn't help the dysphoric people who aren't trans. Again, associating dysphoria only with trans people pathologizes transness itself because people will conflate the two.
5. For trans people with gender dysphoria, transition is a viable (and often necessary) form of treatment. It is not "enabling", it is helping trans people meet their needs. Transition is an option that is often successful, hence why forms of conversion therapy do not work. Transness is simply a natural variation of human identity.
I've been diagnosed with gender dysphoria/GID many times by many professionals, and I find that more often than not, these professionals are not equipped to deal with cases of gender dysphoria - especially when the person is also trans. This can be harmful because you essentially are meant to deal with those feelings alone.
