Mabostiff is never alone, there will always be someone there with him.
After The Accident, Mabostiff would sleep basically all day long. He’s not as bad as he is in canon toh, because now Arven has actual help. Clavell and Jacq worked hard to make Mabostiff feel better and they somehow stabilized him. He’s slowly getting better everyday but he’s still hurt in a way both scientists can’t understand… Maybe, Arven thought one day, the answer is inside that book mom always talked about…
Still, he’s never really left alone.
Every morning, Houndoom brings him their toys, maybe this time he’s gonna finally get up and play with him…
Arven comes home every afternoon and tells Mabostiff about his day. He talks about school, about some new recipe he learned and wants to try and what he did with his (very few) friends.
Clavell sometimes needs to drag both Arven and Houndoom away or they would stay with Mabostiff the whole day and night (especially the first few weeks after the accident) But once the other two are asleep, he often go and sit with the sick Pokemon for a few hours at night. He checks on him and helps if he’s feeling bad or if he’s hungry and thirsty and, like Arven, he talks to him. He promises him he’s going to help him and that he’ll stay by Arven’s side now that the Pokemon is unable to. He doesn’t want Arven to know but he feels guilty as well for what happened. He wasn’t there to help his kids.
And if the next morning, when this cycle restarts again, Arven and Houndoom find him asleep near Mabostiff, neither of them say anything because it just means Mabostiff wasn’t alone that night

Remember the anon who wanted a movie night? I have a few ideas:
ALL of the Barbie movies
MPA: Two Heroes
Monsters vs Aliens
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train
Human Orthoworm
The last one is vetoed. The rest of them would be fun, however!
...Er, was Monsters vs Aliens fun? Honestly, I barely remember anything about that film.
By the way, I hope you know most of these suggestions have won the Penny vote. A crucial voting bloc in the circle of "please just tell Director Clavell if these are good or not".

I have decided to document my journey so far. So, I shall hereby start the Travel Journal! Gotta catch up a bit to get to where I am now, so: bullet points!!
- I found Arven and Lizard on my first day at Naranja. Lizard was kind of weirdly powered up, Nemona took a picture then. I saved Lizard from two houndour, gave them a sandwich, and then they saved ME from a Houndoom. Nice start for a friendship. Lizard never managed to change forme again after, and is kind of slumpy and in mediocre health. She forgot how to run, swim, climb, etc.
- first day at Naranja, help out this honestly lit girl named Penny who got kind of hassled by Team Star. They're kind of a gang, but also, they bring their own music and I respect them for that.
- had the realization that Terastal energy fucks up my hearing aids. It makes them stop working for AT LEAST a minute, and be on the fritz for a good hour after. I don't like to terastalize my mons despite having a Tera orb. No thanks.
- treasure hunt start, I got low key recruited by Arven to help him find Herba Mystica, promised Nemona to spend some time with her, and someone who called themself Cassiopeia to help attack and disband Team Star. Sounds like a busy treasure hunt.
- catch Ratchet and Scraplet, and ask at Cortondo gym for accommodations. Katy gladly gives them, Ratchet rages at the poor bug types. I won that gym badge. And got cupcakes.
Tumblr media
- next up, the biggest Klawf to ever grace the earth. That fucker was huge, scuttled up the wall, and nearly messed Purrlet up. El Woowoo finished it off and promptly evolved.
Here his last moments as a wooper
Tumblr media
- Arven is a kickass cook, actually, his sandwiches FUCK. Can endorse. Turns out, Klawf got that big because of sweet herba mystica. I got a picture of that too, but arven is in there and didn't give me permission to share.
- back to the academy, it's late. I forget to charge my hearing aids. This will come back, trust me.
- next day, up to go and battle the next Titan. Halfway up the fucking mountain where the biggest bombirdier ever lives, my hearing aids beep. I got half an hour charge left. Ohfuck.jpg
- it's fine, absolutely fine. Up the mountain we hurry. Lizard beloved doesn't care about boulders being dropped by the biggest bird alive.
- bird squares up with Scraplet. Scraplet wins, bird goes off to recuperate, I swap Ratchet in just in case. Bird comes back. So comes Arven. He has a Nacli. Ratchet evolves in a display of sheer avian rage and gets taken out by the Bombirdier. Nacli breaks the Bombirdier's wing. Its pissed. And attacks ARVEN.
- OHFUCK.JPG
- I push him out of the way and nearly get skewered. Scraplet frees herself, and Arven gets her to fuck that bird up.
- sandwich time. Turns out, Arven's dog is sick. Herba Mystica can apparently heal everything if you eat all five. Lizard has stolen my first sandwich. Fey can have the rest. I want to keep being deaf. I like being able to shut others up.
- still gonna help arven tho. His Mabosstiff needs the help.
- arven's mom calls, and yikes, the woman is a piece of work. She's the professor. She only cares about the fact Lizard remembered how to swim. Not her fucking kid. Yikes.
- down the mountain to the Pokémon Center. My aids can charge a bit there. A Star Base is near. I decide to go there.
- Director Clavell in the shittiest disguise ever shows up. He wants to join. Why the fuck not.
- love the whole idea of bringing your own battle music. Team Star knows what's up.
- Star Barrages are wild. You, three mons, and a time limit, all against 30 others.
- time to face the boss. Giacomo.
- Have your Gay Awakening and almost lose the fight because you can't stop staring while sacrificing your last hearing aid batteries to catch the sick music
- SOMEHOW get his number (fucking SCORE)
Tumblr media
- batteries die, gotta text Penny on the way home
- time to face Brassius, I need another badge to be able to catch a Revavroom.
- dude is chronically ill but refuses to accommodate for my hearing aid-terastal problem. Time to be deaf on purpose and teach sign attacks to my mons.
- kick his ass via Ratchet. Why is this bird so angry?
- get an apology fuck yeah
- pass all the way through Levincia, pick up gloves so my fingers won't freeze off when I ride on Lizard
- find the biggest Orthworm in the ground. That's Sir Lampton. He low key kicks my ass. Temporarily acquire a Hariyama to kick ass. Hariyama is released afterwards, it liked the small diversion.
- Dog manages a small bark. Hell yeah, you go Mabosstiff
- Sada still doesn't care about her son. Why. Ma'am I want to throttle you.
-Star base? Star Base. They're fire type.
- Mela has kickass boots. She also kicks my ass and if not for Sir Lampton we would have had to retreat.
- walk off with a new TM, ask for number to add to group chat. Somehow get it? Nice. My contact list grows. Is this how you make friends? I think it is.
That's it for now. I got two options on what to do next, because I don't want to do the gyms. I'll make a small poll on that later.

The Blazing Silver Light of Paldea
Chapter 32: Estrella
Silver and Blaze have a double battle against Cassiopeia!
little side arc about silver's fire-related trauma as well
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Silver and Blaze walked to the base of the stairs leading to Uva Academy. Blaze looked at all the stairs and sighed.
"We're expected to climb up all these stairs?" She asked. She suddenly got lifted into the air by Silver's psychokinesis. He floated the two of them up the stairs and winked.
"Nope. Now let's battle Cassiopeia." Silver smiled. "Hellhound's probably itching to battle!"
Blaze looked at the Pokéball of a Pokémon she caught in the North Province and smiled.
The teens made their way to the front of the school, but were stopped by Clive.
"How do you do, fellow kids? Actually, just like how Cassiopeia is secretly the boss of Team Star, I, too, have a secret." He said.
"You're actually Director Clavell?" Silver said.
"I'm actually Director Clavell!" Clive shouted. He threw off his wig and posed like Leon from Galar.
"Sorry for not being in uniform, sir!" Silver exclaimed. He frantically put on an Uva Academy jacket over his Eeveelution shirt, then gave Blaze an extra jacket. "Wear this."
"Not a problem, Silver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat. But you must know another secret. I'm actually Cassiopeia!"
"Sure you are. You keep the mouse on screen when showing us YouTube videos. But I've been waiting to battle you for a while, so bring it on!" Silver grinned.
The battle was in Silver's favor. He won and shook Clavell's hand.
"Mister Director!" A woman shouted angrily.
Silver and Blaze turned around and saw a vulture woman who looked somewhat like Ryme.
"That's my math teacher, Tyme." The hedgehog told Blaze.
"You cannot be battling students on school grounds!" She exclaimed.
"But, Ms. Tyme–"
"Don't 'Ms. Tyme' me, director! You're the one that violated school rules!"
"I-it's fine." Silver stammered.
Tyme dragged Clavell into the building, then the teens went inside.
Silver introduced the staff to Blaze, and they smiled politely and waved.
"This is the school nurse. She's really sweet." Silver turned to a lavender dachshund woman and smiled. "Hello, Nurse Miriam. This is my girlfriend Blaze. She's a Pyrokinetic."
Miriam gasped, then grinned in excitement. "This is a huge step in dealing with your trauma! How do you feel?"
"Incredible." Silver sent out Charlie, who was still exhausted from battle, and gave him a Sitrus berry. "Eat this, Charlie."
"You're training a Fire-Type!" Miriam squealed.
"Blaze is the one who encouraged me to train Charlie. He's so helpful. He can carry me and get my inhaler and all sorts of stuff!" Silver beamed. They hugged the Fire Warrior Pokémon.
"Don't we have to battle Cassiopeia?" Blaze asked.
"Oh, right! Gotta go. It was nice talking to you."
"It was nice to see you too, Silver. Goodbye."
Silver healed his Pokémon, then led Blaze to the schoolyard. To their surprise, Penny was standing in the battle court.
"Penny?!" Blaze exclaimed. She thought back on all the signs.
"So how did you and Cass meet?" "Ahem... um... I haven't eaten yet. Bye!" ... "I can't show my face, but Penny can come by to check on Silver." "Uhh, okay." ... "How is it that you're right by the Ruchbah Squad?" "There's, um, so many Vaporeons and Espeons here?"
"It was so obvious." Blaze mumbled.
"Yes. I am the one who created Team Star, but I saw how it ended up. But... I want to keep Team Star alive. I just have one request. Can we have a Double Battle? You can only use three Pokémon each. I just think it'd be more fun."
"Of course!" Silver smiled.
Blaze nodded, and the two of them got their teams ready.
Clive walked up to see the battle, and Penny asked him to record the video to show to Team Star.
"Go, Hellhound!" Blaze shouted. She sent out a Houndoom, and Silver cheered. He sent out Charlie with a huge grin.
"Umbrie, Vapori, I choose you!" Penny exclaimed a bit shyly, but determinedly.
Umbrie used Helping Hand on Vapori, then the Fire-Types both used Lava Plume. Hellhound was faster, so her Lava Plume activated Charlie's Flash Fire.
Charlie activated Hellhound's Flash Fire and did nearly twice as much damage as Hellhound. Vapori retaliated with a pretty strong Surf that defeated all three of the other Pokémon, including Umbrie.
"Crap." Silver muttered. He sent out Catnip, Blaze sent out Scorch, and Penny sent out Joltie.
Joltie hit a Thunderbolt that Scorch shrugged off, Catnip defeated Vapori with a Flower Trick, and Scorch hit a Flame Charge and sped up.
Penny sent out Flari next. Thanks to a paralysis onto Scorch from Joltie, Flari was able to stay up after a Foul Play from Catnip and defeat him with a single Fire Fang. Scorch tried to retaliate, but the paralysis kicked in.
Silver sent out Evergreen, much to Penny's shock.
"You have a Celebi?!" She shouted.
"I'm from the future. I'm a Psychokinetic. Celebi is a time-traveling Psychic-Type." Silver chuckled. "Use Heal Bell!"
After tanking a Thunderbolt from Joltie, Evergreen healed Scorch's paralysis, and she defeated Flari with a Shadow Claw.
"Leafy, I choose you!"
Penny smiled. She had Joltie use Discharge, and Scorch and Evergreen both got paralyzed. Leafy did, too, but she had a Cheri berry. She used Dig, Scorch missed a Bitter Blade, and Evergreen got fully paralyzed.
Joltie almost defeated Evergreen and Scorch, then Leafy defeated Scorch with Dig while Evergreen used Heal Bell again.
"Go, Star!" Blaze shouted.
"You have a VICTINI?!" Penny cried out.
"I have no idea how, either." Blaze chuckled. "Use Focus Blast!"
Star hit Joltie with a Focus Blast for a clean defeat, then Evergreen hit Leafy with a Shadow Ball for a defeat.
"Crap... Sylvie, I choose you!"
Penny sent out her Sylveon and Terastallized her. An Energy Ball and Flame Charge weren't enough to defeat Sylvie, but a Tera-boosted Dazzling Gleam wasn't enough to defeat the Mythical duo. Another Flame Charge defeated Sylvie, and Penny sighed.
"That was amazing, Penny! Even with Evergreen and Star, I wasn't sure we'd win!" Silver cheered. "You're really good at battling."
Penny blushed. "Thank y–"
"That was an awesome battle!" A familiar voice spoke.
Penny turned around and gasped. "G-Giacomo?!"
"So your name is Penny, huh? I like it." He told her.
"We saw the whole thing. You were on fire!" Mela grinned.
"Thy skills would put Geeta to shame." Atticus joked.
"That Sylveon of yours is pretty strong!" Ortega smiled.
"No wonder you're the big boss." Eri said. "You threatened their Mythical Pokémon!"
"Y-you all saw my loss? I'm so sorry... I... I failed Team Star. And now... now you'll get expelled..."
"No they won't." Clive said. "You six really care about each other. But you broke school rules and need to be punished." He took off his disguise and did a Leon pose again. "I, Director Clavell, declare that Team Star may stay on one condition. You must do some community service."
Penny looked at the director with a puzzled expression and asked why he wore a disguise.
"Teachers can be hard to talk to. By disguising myself as a student, I was able to talk to you on equal terms. I am so sorry about your bullying situation, and I hope you can forgive me for assuming you were the bullies."
Penny turned to Blaze and Silver, then asked for a group hug. The two obliged, then Penny smiled. "Thank you so much, you two. Here is something you can teach to Pepper, Silver."
She gave them a Draco Meteor TM and blushed, then ran back to the rest of Team Star. They welcomed her as Penny and grinned excitedly.
The teens decided to battle Arven next, but it was getting late, so they stopped by Silver's house to spend the night. They fell asleep and dreamed of stars and friends.

Director Clavell then revealed that he was Cassiopeia. He wasn’t very convincing though he tripped over his words as he explained that it was a pre-recorded voice using “high-tech gizmos” while talking to me...but Cassiopeia always responded to questions in real time. It wouldn’t work with a voice recording. But anyway, he wanted to battle me in a final show down. He wasn’t all that hard though I did struggle with one. But I won in the end.

How Hannah Gordon is leading the 49ers’ diversity efforts
Tumblr media
Hannah Gordon, the 49ers’ Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel, has been with the team since 2011.
SB Nation’s Q&A series that highlights some of the NFL’s most powerful women continues with Gordon, who’s been working with the 49ers since 2011.
Over the summer of 2019, SB Nation interviewed several women who currently hold or have previously held leadership positions within the NFL to find out more about them and the work they do. This Q&A series highlights the powerful women who have dared to shake up one of sport’s biggest boys clubs. First up in the series was ex-Raiders CEO Amy Trask, followed by the Dallas Cowboys’ executive VP and chief brand officer Charlotte Jones Anderson.
Hannah Gordon is currently the Chief Administrative Officer for the San Francisco 49ers. She began her work with the 49ers back in 2011, when she was hired as the team’s director of legal affairs. She then became the vice president of legal and government affairs in 2015, then general counsel from 2016-17 before getting moved to her current role. Some of her responsibilities include overseeing community and fan engagement projects — like Women of the Niners and 49ers PRIDE for LGBTQ+ fans — as well as legal and strategic communications.
Author’s note: This interview has been lightly edited for clarity and length.
SB Nation: Your career path is pretty unique, in that you actually started your career in journalism and PR before attending Stanford Law School. Tell me a bit more about that.
Hannah Gordon: For me, [my career] really started in college at UCLA. I was really homesick and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, and watching Hannah Storm host the halftime show during the Lakers’ run for the championship that year — I love smart, funny people and conversations, and I enjoyed the repartee that she was facilitating and I thought, “That seems like such a cool job, how do you do something like that someday?” And I started looking into journalism.
While I was in college I interned for the Raiders, NPR, and as a production intern at Fox Sports West. After college, I went to the NFL Players Association for the 2003 season, and then from there went into the PR world and did media relations at Cal for football, track and swimming from 2004-05.
At that point, I had gotten accepted to law school at Stanford and I wanted to get experience at an agency as well, so I did a six-month stint at Octagon, doing the PR for their football class of clients. In law school, I went back to the Raiders as a law clerk, then went back to a firm after school.
SB: You also worked as an attorney for the NFL during the 2011 lockout, which sounds super interesting!
HG: I was with the management council working on player contracts, salary caps, and CBA. It was the best possible time to be there as a young lawyer because it was the last uncapped year. And then trying to get a new agreement, the CBA expiring, getting to learn from really amazing senior attorneys in terms of outside council, and getting to track the bid ask of every CBA negotiation.
In the midst of the lockout I was called by [president of 49ers Enterprises and executive vice president of football operations] Paraag Marathe to come [to San Francisco].
SB: In your current role with the 49ers, you oversee quite a bit, including legal, public affairs and strategic communications, and community relations. Describe what all your job entails.
HG: It’s pushing forward every business initiative that we have through the function of legal. Because anything you’re doing as a business, whether it’s season ticket agreements or suite agreements or sponsorships, all of that is a relationship between two parties and in business it always involves an agreement.
The second part would be serving every 49ers fan in our larger community, whether or not they are customers. And for me that’s sort of what connects all of our other functions. So whether its our public affairs department, our foundation that educates and empowers Bay Area youth, our community relations department which hosts the themes that you probably see in games in terms of bringing out cancer survivors in October.
That part of my job is about how do we serve everybody who is a constituent of ours. They may or may not be a business partner of ours, but we still want to have a connection to them.
SB: You also oversee fan groups, like Women of the Niners (WON) and 49ers PRIDE for LGBTQ+ fans. How did inclusiveness become such an important part of your job?
HG: I was fortunate enough that fan engagement was one of the departments that I was tasked with about two and a half years ago. And as we looked at “how are we serving underserved demographics of fans?” whether that’s kids — we have a strong kids club — or women fans or LGTBQ+ fans. I wanted to make sure that we created unique experiences for all those different people and that they felt like they were a part of the 49ers family and that they know that they’re valued by us.
For one, we really just looked at it in terms of what we were doing now, how could we continue to scale that, and upgrade that, and make it something that they feel a sense of ownership in. And it really is respectful of the fact that these are some of our most avid fans.
In terms of PRIDE, that just for us felt really natural. We’re the San Francisco 49ers, we should be leaders in terms of progress within the NFL and making sure that everybody does feel included. That’s just part of our brand and our culture.
SB: What’s a typical day of work like for you?
HG: It usually starts at 6 a.m. I try to hop out bed, come into the facility, get a workout in because we actually have a gym and classes that we do for employees. So I do that at 6:30, go home, shower, come back. Then it’s meetings most of the day. I think probably all of us that’s how our lives work, and then at 5 you realize you have like 200 unread emails, so you spend two hours getting through those. And then you actually need to start getting real work done and knocking out agreements and stuff like that.
SB: What are some of the more challenging parts about your job?
HG: Anytime you have a tough season, it really does wear on everybody in different ways. Obviously, it doesn’t wear on folks on the business side the same that it does a player or coach. But you’re deeply invested, and I think that that can be challenging.
SB: As an NFL front office employee, you’re asked a lot about how it feels to be a woman in a male-dominated industry. Is that question something you’re tired of being asked or do you embrace it?
HG: I think that that’s always been a hard question for me because I always worry about being put in a box of “Oh you’re the female,” and I think there’s always a risk that once you are pigeon-holed that way you are not able to continue to grow into future, larger leadership roles. So it’s always a question that, to be honest, makes me a little uncomfortable.
But at the same time, like most experiences in life, it can be both really great and at times, fine. Oftentimes I forget in part because I’ve spent my whole career pretty much in this business, so I don’t really have any reference points for what it would be like not to be in a male-dominated industry. For me, this is just life, right?
And I think for a lot of people that’s actually the case because when you think about other industries — whether it’s finance, law, construction, or politics — once you get to that upper echelon, it’s probably male-dominated. That’s the world that we continue to live in, so I don’t know that my experience would necessarily be tremendously different from other people.
SB: There are a lot more women in the league than there was back in the day. How inspiring is it to see that?
HG: I do think one of the things that’s exciting to see over the last 20 years is I see so many other young women supporting other young women. It’s not that it didn’t exist before, but I love seeing our scout Salli Clavelle, and our coach Katie Sowers, and our trainer Laura McCabe all getting together and supporting each other.
A couple weeks ago, we took all the training interns out, and I’m seeing so many more young women in the field and they’re there to support each other. Not to be exclusionary of their male colleagues, but I think that there’s a real power in that because none of us want to be that only woman who’s in a certain room. That’s not the goal — the goal isn’t “Oh, look I made it and you didn’t.” The goal is everybody who has a voice who has something intelligent to contribute to the conversation, we want everybody at the table.

New from Al and Linda Lerner on Movies and Shakers: The Truth
Mother/Daughter relationships can often be strenuous, at best. But when you have Catherine Deneuve sparring with Juliette Binoche about the truth of their relationship over the years, special chemistry happens.
Hirokazu Kore-eda, is very good at perceiving and projecting sensitive family situations, seriously and with humor, as he did in his remarkable film, Shoplifters. This is no different, except this is the first film he’s written and directed not in his native language. The film is part French and English, but still very easy to comprehend. The nuances in the expressions of his perfectly cast actors take the story even further.
Deneuve is elegant and magnificent as the aging megastar so very set in her ways. And because Fabienne is such a well-known movie star who won a Caesar, France’s Oscar. She is revered and acts so entitled, that she mistreats her staff, her manager Luc Garbois (Alain Libolt), and even her present boyfriend Jacques (Christian Crahay). Chain-smoking Fabienne takes herself very seriously. She holds herself in high esteem, but Kore-eda shows subtle cracks in her surface, major insecurities come to light, as the story unfolds.
Fabienne has written a biography and her screenwriter daughter Lumir, has come with her husband Hank (Ethan Hawke) and their daughter, Charlotte, (Clémentine Grenier) Granddaughter, Charlotte is excellent for a young actress in her first film. She is cheerful, bright and loving with all of the family members.
They’ve come from New York to help celebrate the release of Fabienne’s memoir. The problem? Lumir thinks her mother has rewritten history, especially when it comes to the truth about her abilities as a mother and her competition with another talented actress who was her best friend and rival. It’s revealed that Sarah was also like a second mother to Lumir growing up.
Catherine Deneuve is sensational as Fabienne. We welcomed seeing Kore-eda create such a meaty role for an older actress and showcase her immense talent. Perhaps that’s indicative of the influence of the director’s Japanese culture which respects elders. Juliette Binoche is so restrained as her daughter, Lumir. She is trying to keep the resentment to her mother about the truth from the past in check. Deneuve and Binoche subtly sparring with each other and at the heart of this film. They each know how to pull each other’s chains. The underlying tension between them is palpable. You never know if they’re about to explode.
Lumir has rough edges. She’s bitter about the book not being the truth. She also knows that her mother doesn’t really approve of her work as a screenwriter and isn’t impressed with her husband, Hank either. He’s a struggling TV soap actor which Fabienne doesn’t respect. Hawke is Mr. devil-may-care. He’s a seemingly happy guy, worried about the ever-present tension between his wife and her mother, but he just tries to go with the flow. He’s also a recovering alcoholic, which might have something to do with his own insecurities. The scene at the house around dinner starts out joyous but quickly turns uneasy. It’s not good when Fabienne pushes Hank purposely to drink too much wine on an alcoholic. Lumir, sensing trouble, makes a quick exit.
Fabienne is in the midst shooting a science fiction film where there is also a mother/daughter relationship. The brilliantly conceived dual story lines dovetail nicely. Manon (Manon Clavel) plays a woman who was sent into space. She comes back to earth appearing to be a generation younger than her daughter, played by Deneuve. They have their own reconciliation regarding absence and attitudes to contend with. Manon is a young star and everything that Fabienne envies and resents. She is the catalyst who brings out emotions shooting their scenes that help bridge those between Lumir and herself. Kore-Eda makes Fabienne take a good look at herself and her own relationship with her own daughter, Lumir.
Kore-eda once again shows his immeasurable skill with very little action. His power is subtle but very effective, keeping you riveted, to this family and their journey toward reconciliation or destruction. Seeing Deneuve and Binoche play off each other is scintillating and compelling. Kore-eda uses his skills to inject heart and humor in this absorbing film about family relationships. And that’s The Truth.

The Blazing Silver Light of Paldea
Chapter 8: Música
Silver and Blaze meet Clive the Owl, and he and Cassiopeia help them defeat Giacomo the Raccoon, boss of the Team Star Segin Squad, then the teens camp there for the night.
Lmao Giacomo knows exactly what song would fit Silver and plays it.

"So, Team Star, huh?" Blaze asked. "We just defeated the Titan, are you sure we have time to take the first base out?"
"Yeah, it's only..." Silver checked the time on his Rotom phone. "5:26 PM. And if it gets dark, we can both create light with our powers."
"Touché." The Pyrokinetic giggled, and the two of them walked to the gate of the Team Star Base. Shortly after, Silver got a call from Cassiopeia.
"Hey, Silver, who's that?" She asked before taking a sip of lemonade she was drinking.
"Blaze?" Cassiopeia asked.
Blaze gasped in shock and choked for a few seconds before evaporating the lemonade. "H-how do you know my name?"
"My colleague Penny told me that Silver might have a friend, so I shouldn't be suspicious of another voice talking." Cassiopeia explained. They explained Team Star and how defeating a Squad Leader would force them out of their position. As they spoke, a white owl man with a huge blond pompadour, a school uniform, and glasses, walked up to them.
"Room for one more?" He asked.
Silver looked at the man, who was obviously Director Clavell, and burst into laughter.
"Dir– Wheeze! ...Director Clavell, what is that outf– haHA!" His face was red from laughing so hard.
"Um... Silver... you okay?" Cassiopeia asked.
"One... second..." He wheezed. Another round of laughter overtook the Psychokinetic and he fell to the ground.
"Gah! Silver!" Blaze exclaimed as she picked them up. "Do you need your inhaler?"
"Not... sure..." Silver managed to say while cackling to himself. He started coughing and gasping desparately, so Blaze took that as a yes.
After he used his inhaler, Silver still hadn't gotten the funnies out, so he laughed for a few more seconds, but eventually managed to calm down. "Whew– Cough! ...that... was funny. So–" He held back his laughter. "Why are... you here, Director?" He felt another wave of laughter build up and tried to suppress it, which led to him sputtering like a car engine.
"My name is Clive. I am a student just like you, Silver the Hedgehog. Speaking of, why aren't you in uniform?"
Silver burst into wheezing laughter again and Blaze facepalmed. "It's not that funny, Silv..."
The hedgehog coughed and cleared their throat to get the funnies out of their system, then answered Clive's question. "Whew... sorry, sir. To answer your question... I'm not in school right now."
"Silver the Hedgehog, that is not an excuse." Clive spoke.
"You're a 'student', too, 'Clive'!" Silver argued.
Clive couldn't argue with that and keep his disguise up. He cleared his throat and spoke again. "Cassiopeia, was it? May I join Operation Starfall?"
Cassiopeia spoke up. "Okay, 'Clive'. You can join, but you're on thin ice. You're in charge of healing Silver and Blaze's Pokémon."
"Who's Blaze?" Clive asked.
"Friend of Silver's." Blaze answered, barely holding in her laughter.
"It's up to you three to defeat the Segin Squad's leader, Giacomo!" Cassiopeia said before they hung up.
Silver rang the bell of the squad gate, and a voice blared from the loudspeaker. "Silver the Hedgehog and friend. Our leader may bless you with his presence if you defeat 60 of our Pokémon in 5 minutes. Tick tock. Clock's ticking."
The teens walked in and had their Pokémon fight the various Pokémon in the camp. Catnip and Carolina overtook a group of Sandile, Scorch and Charlie burned through a pack of Sneasel, and Coal and Pepper tore through a murder of Murkrow. They won with a few minutes to spare and healed their Pokémon, then heard a car engine in a tent and went to it.
A huge car drove from the tent. Sitting on top was a dark blue raccoon boy in a DJ outfit. He honked the car horn and grinned.
"So you two managed to beat the challenge? Hehe, you must be strong. I'm Giacomo, also known as DJ Vice. Which one of you wants to battle me?"
Silver gave a determined grin and got his Pokémon ready.
"Okay, Rook! Go!" Giacomo yelled as he threw a Timer Ball. It contained a Pawniard, which Charlie roasted with a single Fire Spin.
"Did I win?" Silver asked.
Giacomo shook his head and smiled. "Starmobile! Go!"
To Silver's surprise, the car Giacomo was on was a Pokémon. It revved its engine and blasted some smoke out of the exhaust pipes. Charlie shook from fear and had his Attack dropped.
"Starmobile! Metal Sound!"
The Starmobile let out a horrible screech that harshly lowered Charlie's Special Defense.
"Charlie, Clear Smog!"
Charlie created some smoke from his head that dealt damage and removed the stat changes that Giacomo's Starmobile inflicted onto him.
Silver coughed and wheezed from the smog and immediately regretted his choice of move. Charlie turned around and made a worried noise.
"Cough! -Yeah... I'm fine." The psychic hedgie reassured.
"Cadet..." Charlie whined. He ran to check on his Trainer, and they put a hand on his head.
"I'm okay Char– Wheeze!" Silver tried to assure him.
"Take a break and catch your breath. I'll be waiting to crush you after." Giacomo told the hedgehog.
Silver nodded, then got his inhaler out and used it. "Thanks, Giacomo. I'm ready to bring the Segin Squad out of business!"
"Char!" Charlie yelled determinedly. He ran back to the battlefield with a confident stare.
"Wicked Torque!" Giacomo yelled.
The Starmobile spun and hit Charlie, then the Fire-Type fell asleep. Silver knew he had to switch, but didn't want to risk another Pokémon being put to sleep. He sprayed an Awakening onto Charlie, who woke up and raised his fists. The Starmobile hit a Snarl that lowered Charlie's Special Attack.
The Starmobile hit another Wicked Torque, which didn't make Charlie fall asleep, so he used Fire Spin, which missed. A Swift defeated Charlie, so Silver sent out Catnip.
"Use Seed Bomb!"
Catnip hit the Starmobile, which was starting to look a bit damaged, with a seed that exploded on contact. The Starmobile hit a Wicked Torque, but Catnip didn't fall asleep, and he was in Overgrow range. Another Seed Bomb trashed the Starmobile.
Giacomo jumped down from his busted car and smiled. "Nice job, kid. You've got skills. Team Star rules say I have to give up my badge." He chuckled and gave Silver the Dark Star Badge, which fit his Badge jacket perfectly. "I remixed a cool song I found that I think you'd like. Wanna listen?"
Silver smiled and nodded, and an upbeat, yet sad remix of a familiar-sounding song that he couldn't put his finger on started to play.
"I like it, it's really–" Silver gasped when he heard the lyrics and lit up with a smile.
He poured his heart and soul into the lyrics the best he could, and Blaze joined in. A group of Team Star members gathered to see their performance, and they and their Pokémon cheered. The song was so powerful it restored Rook and Charlie's strength.
Clive faintly heard the music and decided to see what was going on. He found Silver and Blaze, floating and dancing under the stars.
"Cause every night I will save your life," Silver sang.
"And every night I will be with you." Blaze continued.
"And every night I still lay awake in my dream,"
"Of an absolution." They sang in unison.
When the song ended, the Segin Squad was in a good mood. It was dark, and motels were all done checking in guests, so Giacomo let them stay at the Segin Squad for the night. As thanks, Silver and Blaze decided to make dinner.
While the teens prepared to make dinner, Clive talked to Giacomo and told him about how he was risking expulsion. Giacomo was adamant about staying with Team Star, his greatest treasure.
The teens made a huge pot of Galar-style curry for dinner and shared it with Clive and Team Star, who were impressed. It was pretty good, but not quite great. They gave it an average rating of three stars, which translated to Milcery Class in Galarian food jargon.
After dinner, Silver smiled, then turned to Blaze. "That was really fun, and you made it so much better."
Blaze blushed and smiled back. "Th-thank you. It was pretty fun. I have to ask you something, Silver. Do you see what you dream?"
The hedgehog laughed and smiled to his friend. "I think so."
As they drifted to sleep, they both made little purring noises. In the morning, they woke up happy, thanked Giacomo, and left the Star Base. They went to Cascarrafa for breakfast and made a plan.
During breakfast, Cassiopeia called Silver's phone. "Silver, I've been trying to call you for hours!"
"Um, Cass, we're eating right now." He said.
Cassiopeia paused, then asked about the Segin Raid. "How did it go? Is the Segin Squad down?"
"It went well, but Team Star doesn't seem like they're hurting anyone. In fact, Giacomo let us camp at the Segin Base. Why are we dismantling them?" Blaze asked.
Cassiopeia sighed, then spoke again. "He... was a friend, but I had to cut ties after the whole Team Star business."
"Oh, gee. That sounds rough." Blaze told them.
"Yeah... Anyway, I've got a reward for you two. I'll just send the League Points to your phone, and... done!"
Silver's phone dinged.
"Where are you? I'll send my supply rep, Penny, to give you some TM materials."
"Cascarrafa, by the Pokémon Center." Silver answered.
After a few minutes, a familiar light blue cat walked into the building and gave Blaze some TM materials, then pondered the menu. "Maybe I'll get breakfast here."
"Hi, Penny! You should've seen what happened last night! Giacomo played my favorite song without knowing!" Silver excitedly yelled.
"You're pretty happy. Um, yeah." Penny said. She nervously twitched her tail and smiled, then noticed Silver's pin jacket with his five Badges. "Oh, you've beaten Brassius? Next I'd recommend Iono from Levincia. I read online that she's the best third Gym Leader. Um, mind if I sit down?"
"Not at all!" Blaze said. "So, how did you and Cassiopeia meet?"
Penny coughed and avoided the question. "I'm pretty hungry. I haven't had breakfast yet."
"Oh, go ahead and get some food. We can talk later." Silver told her. She waved and went to the front to get food.
"Bye!" Silver and Blaze said as they waved back. They waited a few minutes for Penny to come back, but she had already left.
Blaze and Silver had already finished their breakfast and paid, so they left and got a Flying Taxi to Artazon, which made Blaze nervous, but Silver helped to comfort them.
Once they went to Artazon, they headed to the East Province. Unfortunately, the easiest way to Levincia was blocked by another Team Star crew, but luckily, Miraidon could swim.
"Okay, Blaze. Ready to ride on the river?" Silver asked.
"Um... uh... okay..." They shuddered.
Silver and Blaze held their breath, then Miraidon fell into the river and floated up after a second.
"Are you okay, like, mentally?" Silver asked.
"It... it's not so bad..." Blaze said in surprise. They didn't expect the river to be so calming.
Silver smiled, then Miraidon rode down to a beach and the teens saw a huge city. They decided to take a break so Silver could dry his clothes. Having a Pyrokinetic as a friend made it a whole lot easier, so it only took two minutes, then the teens continued their adventure.
