Coby McQuaid Introduction
Finally Veruca's one and only brother, the source of her stress and frustration, Coby McQuaid, gets an introduction here!
The Jacob of my version for Hogwarts Mystery. The Jacob that actually has some sense and isn't a damn idiot to fall for Peregrine's stupid plan 🙄

Coby McQuaid is a pure blood Irish wizard. He is the eldest son of Elroy and Wilhelmina and Veruca’s brother. Coby was born on the 26th of November 1962. While he cares for his sister, the two have a very competitive relationship. Their competitive natures also caused them to engage in childish disputes that continued on into adulthood. Coby may be the oldest, but he can definitely be the most immature between the two, something Veruca often points out, causing Coby to whine about it. They can never play any game together as their competitiveness gets out of hand and someone ends up tackling the other to the ground.
Coby McQuaid, is a confident, energetic, outgoing, brash, and informal young man, who revels in his freedom from order and responsibility. He is charismatic and well liked by those around him. He often does whatever he likes on whim with a macho and confident attitude.
He enters both duels and flying races with unabashed confidence, often thinking that every event is one big and crazy party. His most gifted trait is his ability to live life as it comes, never worrying what others think of him and treasuring his own personal values. While others may see him as a simple rebel, he does have some code of personal ethics and will stand for those who can't defend themselves. He feels that duels should be fought fairly and doesn't condone picking on the weak. He also admires bravery and often feels compelled to stick up for the underdogs.
Proud of his heritage and gung-ho for flying and dueling, he has a tendency to get lost in the thrill and forget his limits. Therefore, he often relied on the wisdom and responsibility of his friends, Olivia Green and Duncan Ashe, to keep him focused and on track. He is grateful for any helping hand and strives to repay his debts in kind. Carson's overall assessment of him implies that his unpredictability is not merely based on a whim, but out of consideration for his family. In Hogwarts, he joined the Dueling Club in favor of Quidditch, but often held flying races in the Pitch.
After seeing the way Diego interacts with Veruca, Coby has been extremely wary of the younger male. Although knowing his sister is no longer a child, it's his brotherly instincts that often kick in whenever Veruca either mentions or hangs out with Diego. To see if he was a good match for his sister, Coby dueled Diego and admitted he wasn't taking it easy on him. He eventually started respecting Diego for his skills and had warmed up to the younger male when he started showing he was serious about Veruca. While it took time for him to approve the relationship, it is still taking a long time getting used to his baby sister being in one.
After R had been fully taken care of, Coby moved back to Kinsale, Ireland. He lives a relaxing life in a cabin on a private beach. He doesn't marry or have any kids, but owns two Chesapeake Bay Retrievers named Rosie and Eugene. He also works as a bartender in one of the nearby bars and usually handles the drinks during family gatherings and parties. Coby also got a small tattoo of a butterfly on the left side of his neck a symbol of his great grandmother Avis.
Coby has a coffee addiction. He used to drink tea because of his Nana, but switched to coffee after he needed something to keep him up whenever he pulled all-nighters. He never went back to tea after that. When Veruca was still drinking out of a sippy cup, there was no more of her favorite juice so Coby filled her cup with some coffee. Ever since then, Veruca started craving for coffee and would throw her cup away if she was given juice. Elroy found out was upset his little girl was getting caffeine high at an extremely young age.

Penny 🤝 Carewyn

Carewyn Cromwell was, by and large, not much of a party person. She had always been much happier just spending quality time with her closest friends, rather than being surrounded by a bunch of exciting strangers. Even when she attended parties, she almost always tended to stick close to her friends, especially those friends who found parties even less comfortable than she did, like shy wallflower Liz or solitary smart-mouth Talbott.
Penny Haywood, however, was the definition of a party person -- and she always tried to yank Carewyn along with her to them, whenever possible.
“Come on, Carewyn, it’ll be fun!” she’d say. “Everyone’ll be there! There’ll be lots of food and dancing and games...I even heard Gwenog Jones herself might make an appearance!”
Carewyn very gently declined off most of these such invitations so as not to hurt Penny’s feelings, but every now and again, Penny was able to convince Carewyn to go to a few of them. Sometimes it was because of who’d be there, such as the house party Penny helped Charlie organize at the Burrow -- not only was Carewyn happy to spend time with Charlie, but she also thought that such a party would need at least one adult present. And sure enough, Carewyn ended up being the one to pull in the reins and make sure Charlie wouldn’t get in any trouble for hosting a party while his parents were out. Another time Penny had asked Carewyn to help her with and attend a Christmas party she was throwing to celebrate the professors and all of their hard work over that school year -- the event ended up being a rather modest, classy affair, which Carewyn was secretly very grateful for.
This time, however, Carewyn was coaxed in by her one true love: music. Penny had caught wind of a huge get-together at the Three Broomsticks, being put together by several members of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team, where they planned to smuggle in a modified Muggle jukebox and dance the night away. Since Carewyn so rarely could play any of her favorite non-magical songs anywhere but at home, it seemed like listening to a lot of Muggle oldies would be a lot of fun. So Carewyn put on one of her favorite dresses and went to the event, ready to spend an evening drinking a butterbeer by the jukebox and singing along with any songs she recognized.
Penny, of course, wasn’t willing to settle for that. Upon finding her friend sitting by the jukebox, she immediately flounced over, her own bright yellow dress sweeping behind her.
“Come on, Carewyn!” she said brightly, taking both of her hands. “Let’s go dance!”
But Carewyn stayed seated. “It’s okay, Penny -- I’m fine right here.”
“Oh, I know,” said Penny earnestly, “but this song is really good...and we can’t let Diego have all the fun!”
She indicated their mutual friend, Diego Caplan, cutting a rug a short way away.
“The last thing I’d want to do is get in the way of a master at work,” Carewyn said with a ruby red smile.
“You wouldn’t be in the way, Carewyn,” Penny said brightly. “I’m sure you’ll be brilliant! You’ve always been so attuned to music...”
She gave Carewyn’s hands a very light tug.
“Come on...I’ll dance with you! It’ll be fun!”
Carewyn was pretty unaffected by peer pressure, but Penny’s earnestness was wearing at her resolve. She knew if she said no flat-out, she might hurt her friend’s feelings -- so she tried to find a way to soften it.
“It’s not that I don’t want to go out there with you, Penny,” she said bracingly. “It’s just that...dancing isn’t really my particular skill set -- ”
“That’s okay!” insisted Penny. “You don’t have to be great at dancing -- this is all just for fun, anyway...”
“I know,” Carewyn cut her off a bit more crisply than she meant. She immediately tried to soften her tone again. “But...well, I like watching all of you dancing. I like sitting back here and watching you and the others having fun. That is fun, for me.”
Penny blinked, slightly confused. “But...wouldn’t it be more fun to go out there and do it yourself?”
“For some people, maybe,” said Carewyn. “But me...I like just watching. Sometimes it’s fun to go out and do things, but other times...well, it’s nice to just take a moment, sit back and just...enjoy everything. See everyone interact, and talk, and live their lives. Even if it’s not something you’re that good at or even like yourself, it’s...nice to just see other people being excited about something.”
The memory of her brother Jacob going off on a long, animated tangent about the ingredient break-down of Skele-Gro rippled over her mind. Carewyn barely even remembered everything he’d said about the potion and its composition anymore...but it’d still made her smile so fully, listening to how happy all of it made her older brother.
Penny considered Carewyn’s words, before her lips curled up in a slight smile.
“...I guess I know what you mean,” she granted. “I don’t fully understand you and Badeea sometimes, when you’re talking about art -- or you and Rowan, when you’re talking about History of Magic. And Charlie -- wow! Dragons are cool, sure, but the way he talks about them with you...I wonder if he’ll ever love any one person more than he does dragons...”
Carewyn giggled behind her hand. “Likely not.”
Penny settled herself at the table next to the Slytherin Prefect.
“It’s something I’ve always admired about you, Carewyn,” the blond Hufflepuff said softly, “how in-tune you are with people. It just kind of makes me sad that everyone doesn’t know how good at it you are.”
She sighed, but it didn’t dampen her smile.
“I guess it’s the same reason Talbott doesn’t seem to care that no one knows how loyal of a friend he is, once you get to know him.”
Carewyn smiled. “Well, sure. Not everything that’s valuable is meant to be shared. Sometimes you have to earn it.”
“Now you sound like Orion Amari!” Penny said with a laugh. She gained a slightly more longing glint to her smile. “Oh, I do miss when you were on the Slytherin team...it was so much fun, to watch you, Skye, and Orion fly together...”
A twinge of discomfort and guilt panged through Carewyn remembering her time with the Slytherin team and the fall-out between her and Skye that had resulted in her departure. Fortunately, at that very moment, the jukebox changed songs, playing a light, upbeat tune that caught both Penny and Carewyn’s ears right away.
“Here comes the sun -- doo doo doo doo...”
“Ooooh, I love this one!” Penny said eagerly.
Carewyn grinned too as she immediately sang along.
“Here comes the sun, and I say...”
“It’s all right!” Penny jumped in to finish the line brightly.
Hufflepuff’s resident gossip queen leaned over to turn the knob on the jukebox to increase the volume as Carewyn sang along a little louder.
“Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter...
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here...”
Penny kicked her legs back and forth leisurely as her bright, slightly sharp voice joined Carewyn’s much more trained tone again for the chorus.
“Here comes the sun -- doo doo doo doo...
Here comes the sun, and I say...it’s all right!”
A few of the people dancing on the floor took notice of popular Penny Haywood and “Cursebreaker Cromwell” singing along to the jukebox on the sidelines together. Most of the others, though, were too preoccupied doing their own thing...and Carewyn liked that quite well.

She'd met Jae in detention in the beginning of the year 5 and he'd been interested in her since the day he laid eyes on her, but he'd always respected her relationship with Barnaby and it wasn't until they broke up that Jae invested in her. They started dating at the beginning of their sixth year at Hogwarts.

asdfASDF have i not mentioned it??? in their fifth year, Ben almost dies and Luther becomes a werewolf
needless to say... it’s a very eventful year for everyone
I figured a good way to mirror the show and Luther’s issues slash ape body would be to make him a werewolf
It definitely brings the siblings closer together in a way because here’s what they know about the wizarding world and werewolves: a) the wizarding world is like, super awful to werewolves and have a bajillion laws regarding them, b) an old DADA teacher was lowkey fired for being outed as a werewolf even though he was on wolfsbane potion and taking care of himself, and c) the only werewolf who attended hogwarts (according to Fred) was said professor who kept it a secret due to worrying he would be kicked out of Hogwarts
the family have no proof that Luther wouldn’t be kicked out of Hogwarts for his werewolf-ness so obviously they have to keep it a secret
on the bright side, they have access to a secret basement thanks to Five poking around that has been mainly cleared of booby traps and other unsafe things, that is also impossible for Luther to escape from considering his wolf form can’t exactly speak parseltongue
(because portrait!Dolores probably teaches the squad how to at the very least say “open” and “close” in parseltongue considering i’m pretty sure canon hp has non parseltongues being able to vaguely mimic enough to get in)
further bright side - Ben and Five are very good at potions and are capable of very very difficult potions, such as the Wolfsbane potion
(downside: Five is a very experimental potions maker and likes to try and improve upon current formulas. Ben complains but is secretly the same. The other siblings don’t think they should be experimenting with Luther’s anti-werewolf potion guys, come on what the fuck)
“This would be so much easier if you didn’t have a reputation for being such a goody two-shoes.” Five informs Luther crossly, because getting a mannequin to transfigure into a sleeping ‘Luther’ was harder than it should have been smh, if Luther had cultivated a reputation for never being where he should be like Five everything would be fine but no, Luther’s dorm mates would be suspicious if he was gone on every full moon night
(Diego, as the team resident bonus Gryffindor, gets to stay behind and make sure no one ‘wakes up’ Luther in the morning before everyone can smuggle the real Luther back into bed)
Ben blames himself honestly, because it’s theoretically his fault that they were in the Forbidden Forest on the full moon that night
(Ben has excelled in potions and herbology, he gets along with Neville like a house on fire, and he spends lots of time in the greenhouse. He wanted to gather some various plants and potions ingredients that you can only get on the full moon and - well - let’s just say the trip didn’t go as planned)
Five ends up doing a lot of the... I guess caretaking work?? He’s the one best equipped to go down into the Chamber of Secrets when Luther is wolfed out since he can just teleport if Luther tried to bite him or something (which he doesn’t because he’s docile on the wolfsbane potion
“I dropped care of magical creatures, this shouldn’t even be my responsibility.” Five complains, loudly
“Well Luther has the best grade in that class out of any of us.” Klaus points out, gesturing between him and Diego, who looks sour at the reminder that Luther does better at him in any class at all (though that rivalry died down a lot when Diego made the quidditch team tbh)
“Luther can’t take care of himself.” Allison says crossly.
“Hey.” Luther protests, “I mean, I know, but hey.”
“Well Fred says that the marauders - that’s the dudes who hung out with Lupin when he was a baby werewolf - became animagi so they could hang out with him on full moons and stuff.” Klaus interjects excitedly, “There’s this potion which should be totally easy for Five and Ben and - ”
“Absolutely not.” Ben cuts Klaus off, “We need to be focusing on getting ingredients for the Wolfsbane potion, and they’re not easy to come by. Plus the ones we can’t get are expensive.”
“We’re orphans, it’s not like we have our own money.” Diego points out grumpily, ignoring the weird look on Luther’s face that pops up every time Reginald is even vaguely referenced.
“The money isn’t a problem.” Five says dismissively, because he’s been squirreling money away in weird places for years and has a solid ring of tutoring, essay writing, and homework providing in place to get them at least some funds, “The issue is disguising our orders so that people won’t look at our lovely list of ingredients and be like ‘who the fuck is making this quantity of wolfsbane at hogwarts, where there aren’t supposed to be any werewolves’.”
“We could buy other potions ingredients as well and hide the wolfsbane ones among them?” Luther suggests tentatively.
Ben grimaces, “The expense...”
“I already told you it’s not an issue.” Five snaps, “Besides, I can always just steal some of the super expensive ones from the potions cupboards.”
“Why do you always jump to stealing.” An aggrieved Vanya complains, even though all of them know it’s because Five’s ability to ‘apparate’ within Hogwarts grounds makes him the best person they have for moving unseen around Hogwarts
“Ha, jump.”
“It’s not like we have the resources though.” Allison muses, because she’s a slytherin and resourcefulness is important to her, “I mean, what are they going to do if they find out? Throw us in Azkaban?”
Diego shrugs, “This is Hogwarts, probably the worst that will happen is detention.”
“We can handle detentions.” Ben says firmly, “We do what we have to do, to keep Luther safe.”
“Thanks guys,” Luther may actually sound a little choked up at the loyalty shown by his siblings.
Luther gets,,, very good at watching the moon ;3c
you could say... it’s very important to him in this au ;3c ;3c
“Wait guys. Guys.” Klaus slams his hands on the table during a study session, “We can finally figure out the answers to one of the age old questions!!”
“What?” Allison sounds more exhausted than Five feels.
“What happens if you put a werewolf on the moon.”
“I don’t think Luther will be able to be an astronaut.” Ben points out delicately, “You need like, really good science grades and stuff and... I mean, potions is sort of a science but not exactly one you can put on your muggle applications.”
“One more dream crushed.” Vanya mutters.
“Hear hear.”

Preferences ~ How they flirt with you
This is a request by @starfishfaerie. Hope you like this as much as the last one!
Luther (Number 1)
- Flirting is not a very common occurrence with Luther.
- When he does flirt, it's at the worst and most inappropriate times. This man has no sense of when and when not to do something.
- For example, the time he called you a liar; sparking a huge argument.
- "I'm not a liar Luther! That's not in my genes"
"What do you have in those jeans..."
"..."
"Am I not flirting right? Diego told me to use that one"
- Luckily, his terrible decision-making ended up being the reason you stopped fighting (with him apologizing too, of course).
- When he flirts, it's honestly very awkward. He doesn't know what to do.
- Asks his brothers for help. They always gave him horrible advice and pickup lines to use.
- You find it hilarious honestly.
Diego (Number 2)
- If you think this man would not jump at every opportunity to flirt, you are mistaken.
- He flirts literally whenever he sees an opening. Usually using very dirty pickup lines.
- "Diego, do you think it'll rain? Should I take an umbrella?"
"I'm not a weatherman, but if you're wearing that outfit, expect a
few inches tonight ;)"
- In addition to pickup lines, physical contact is very common with him. He'll stand behind you, wrap his arms around your waist and whisper in your ear.
- He's the smoothest flirt ever, and you find it incredibly hot.
Allison (Number 3)
- Allison loves to flirt, and she's adorable when she does.
- Uses the cheesiest pickup lines on you.
- "Hi Alli, you good?"
"Not really. The doctor says I'm lacking Vitamin... U"
- It took you a moment to get it, but you both dissolved into giggles when you finally realized.
- You groan, and pretend to find it a terrible pickup line, but Allison sees right through you and can tell that you love it.
- Physical contact consists of her holding your hand and making eye contact as she delivers the pickup line.
- You adore this cutie and her flirting.
Klaus (Number 4)
- An incredibly playful flirt, who always makes you laugh.
- Like Diego, he'll flirt whenever he feels like it. Like Luther, sometimes it'll be at very inappropriate moments
- "Girl, you're making my groin rise from the dead"
"Klaus! We're at a funeral!"
- Cue you and Klaus earning dirty looks from all the other funeral goers as you burst into laughter.
- Not much physical contact while flirting, but he's definitely the type to wink, and casually lean against a wall and fail miserably at it.
- You love it when Klaus flirts. It's hilarious and cute at the same time, and never fails to make your day.
Five (Number 5)
- Five definitely wants to flirt with you, but he doesn't know how. So he improvises on other people's ideas.
- "Hey Y/N, did you fall from heaven? Because I would murder all my
siblings to spend eternity with you in the ninth circle of hell"
" ... I know that's not how it goes, but I strangely love that."
- You do appreciate the originality.
- Will make eye contact with you, and tightly grip your hand while delivering the pickup line. He intends for it to be romantic, but honestly, it's really creepy.
- Eventually has to suck up his pride and asks Ben or Vanya for help, because he knows those are his only siblings who won't mislead him.
- You think it's admirable how much effort five puts in to please you.
Ben (Number 6)
- Ben is the most nerdy flirt ever. Be prepared for a load of dorky and cute pickup lines if you enter into a relationship with him.
- "You must play quidditch, Y/N, I know a keeper when I see one"
"You just used a Harry Potter pickup line on me.... and I love it"
- Physical contact is a MUST. He'll come up to you and hug you, then whisper in your ear, or he'll hold your hand as he speaks, or he'll full on cuddle you. Whatever it is, he has to be touching you in some way.
- This boy has won your heart, and you find his flirting adorable... and occassionally hot:
- "Come back to my room and I'll show you the big bang isn't just a
theory.
"You've been hanging out with Diego and Klaus too much... I'm in"
Vanya (Number 7)
- Vanya is a shy flirt. But she IS a flirt.
- Her pickup lines are cheesy when she does use them, but most of the time, it's just this:
- "You're so stunning you made me forget the pickup line I was going to use"
"Awwww"
- She does compliment you very often though, even though that's not necessarily flirting. She'll tell you how beautiful she finds you, and how smart and sweet you are.
- Physical contact while flirting will mostly be hand holding.

hphm and the enneagram
hello beautiful people! very recently, i became VERY obsessed with the enneagram personality typing system. and since i’m also very obsessed with hphm, i had to connect the two!!!!! disclaimer: i am a total beginner, not an expert in any way shape or form, and it’s pretty hard to type anyone besides yourself with the enneagram, because the system revolves around motivations, and u really can’t know anyone’s secret and true desires and fears. also, i’m aware that i don’t explain like the paths of stress/growth and the triads very well at all. i’m still so new to this that i recommend going to a real website to learn more ab that if ur interested!!!! that being said, this is my take of
the enneagram explained through hphm!!!!:
type 1 - the perfectionist - andre egwu
ones are known as the perfectionists for a reason, they have a set right and wrong way to do everything, and implement their standards on themselves and everyone else. They are organized, have a very clear moral compass, and are very rooted in their opinions. they are typically the “mom friends” and their deepest fear is of being a bad person, or seen as imperfect in any way. Their core motivation is to be good and find the “best” way to do everything. Of all the types, ones are quite often the hardest on themselves when they mess up. i see andre as a type one for a few reasons- first, he takes his role as “style wizard” very seriously, and makes sure all the outfits he designs are flawless in every way. second, he’s got high standards, and isn’t exactly delicate with mc when they disregard his advice, he’s judgemental. he also demands perfection of himself when on the quidditch pitch, making him very competitive. he has a strong sense of justice, as seen from the poor sport sq. he has a vision for his life, and plan to reach it.
other type 1s imo: talbott winger
type 2 - the helper - rowan khanna
twos are the people who always go the extra mile for everyone, and they hope for the same treatment on return. a two’s biggest fear is of feeling unloved, so they pour out all their love on their friends and offer help on everything, even if said help is unasked for. twos are caring, team players, and will often sacrifice their own wants and needs for the sake of others. they desire to be validated and loved by others more than anything else. I see rowan as a two because they are eager to help the mc in every way that they can. rowan sometimes attributes their self-worth in terms of how helpful they can be to the mc, and as seen in years 5 and 6, rowan admits how much they hate feeling like the mc doesn’t need them anymore. in the enneagram path of stress, twos move down to negative traits of type 8, the challenger and become more assertive and obviously angry. this is demonstrated in the way rowan aggressively lashes out at ben sometimes. likewise, when twos move along the path of growth, they display more positive traits of type 4, the individualist, and rowan is often at their best when comfortable in how unique they can be.
other type 2s imo: penny haywood
type 3 - the achiever - diego caplan
type threes are ambitious, goal-oriented, and always trying move up in the world. their greatest desire is attention and recognition, while their deepest fear is being perceived as worthless. their schedules are often booked to the max and they are very image conscious. they are incredibly productive and (along with twos and fours) are part of the heart triad and tend to make decisions based on their feelings. threes are also very charismatic and charming. i think that diego is a type 3 because of his ambition and his charisma, but also because of the insecurity we see in the dueling dancing and diego sq, we can see that diego hates the idea of anyone seeing him fail and lose the dancing contest. in general, it’s no secret that diego likes to win.
other type 3s imo - jae kim
type 4 - the individualist - tulip karasu
what type fours want the most is to be able to express themselves and proclaim their uniqueness to the world. what they fear the most is that they are fundamentally broken and unable to reach the same happiness as everyone else. fours are among the most creative people you will ever meet and, honestly, they are probably the quirkiest type (and they REALLY want you to know it!!!) fours are in a lot of inner conflict because they often long to be loved and validated, while simultaneously they want to be left alone and unbothered. they want to be as authentic as possible, and can be the most melancholy of the types at times. i think tulip is a four because of her obvious uniqueness, and complete pride over it. she also fears that something is actually wrong deep within herself, and that it prevents her from establishing connections with friends and family that everyone else seems to be making. tulip is also seen multiple times getting some creative self expression out, even if she admits she’s not very good at artistic things like drawing and writing. the important thing is that she’s doing something creative and trying those things anyway.
other type 4s imo - badeea ali, ismelda murk, beatrice haywood
type 5 - the investigator - liz tuttle
type fives are your classic intellectual minimalist type. they’re your “spend hours researching before making a statement type” and they get overwhelmed by their needs and their loved ones’ needs, and often need to take some moments to prepare before presenting anything. they are very independent, and the most thoughtful of all the types. they desire to understand the world around them as fully as possible. they are typically introverted, and gain their energy and drive by learning more about the things that impassion them. they are a part of the head triad (with sixes and sevens as well) and so they make most of their decisions based on what they think rather than feel. i see liz as a 5 because she’s very withdrawn from the outside world, preferring to learn more about creatures and only really talking to a handful of people she trusts. she’s often overwhelmed by the needs of people and likes to take some time with her creatures and learning to remove that stress.
other type 5s imo - murphy mcnully
type 6 - the loyalist - ben copper
enneagram sizes are motivated by their desire for safety and security. They have a tendency to be overly anxious and overthink things, but they are incredibly loyal and supportive to the people they trust. They are often prepared for every worst case scenario, and are organized planners who pay close attention to details. Their greatest fear is being unprepared for danger. sixes value trust more then anything else, they don’t break promises or spill secrets. i find ben to be very 6-like because of his early anxiety and proneness to exaggerate danger and overthink simple things. even though ben develops and changes more than any other character in the series, one thing that remains constant about him is his loyalty to mc. sixes can fluctuate between being phobic, where they are open and expressive about their vulnerabilities as ben is in the early years, and counter-phobic, or putting on a tough exterior to hide their vulnerabilities as ben does in later years. sixes sometimes struggle with being pessimistic and suspicious, just like ben.
other type 6s imo - levi kidd, bill weasley
type 7 - the enthusiast - alanza alves
sevens fear missing out, boredom, and being stuck in a set routine forever. They crave fun, excitement and new experiences. sevens are known for being bubbly and energetic, and almost childlike at times. they are very optimistic, and can get frustrated when the people around them will simply refuse to look on the bright side. sevens are popular and well-liked, often struggle with commitment, and become scatter-brained at times. alanza is a textbook seven- she joined an exchange program to shake things up and try new things, she enjoys lifting mc up and distracting them with fun and stress relieving activities, amd she very talented at many things, while having no set one hobby or interest she fixates on.
other type 7s imo - fred & george weasley, duncan ashe, tonks
type 8 - the challenger - merula snyde
enneagram 8s are loud and proud, when they have something on their mind they let you know it. their biggest fear is of being controlled, so they become as assertive and aggressive as they possibly can be to counter that fear. eights are independent, confident, and strong-willed. they care intensely about people and things they are passionate about, and will protect those things. eights have a particularly strong sense of self and are natural leaders. i see merula as an eight not only because of her assertiveness and hatred of being told what to do, but also because of her decision making process. eights are in the gut triad (with type nines and type ones), and so they tend to make their decisions based on their instinct. merula has been known to make rash decisions, and they are sometimes catastrophic, but also sometimes very helpful.
other type 8s imo - skye parkin, erika rath
type 9 - the peacemaker - barnaby lee
enneagram 9s are known for being easygoing, agreeable, and indecisive. type nines fear loss and separation, and their greatest desire is to have peace of mind and inner stability. nines will go to extreme lengths to avoid conflict, frequently throwing their own wants out the window in order to keep the peace. 9s are natural mediators, and have a great ability to see multiple perspectives. due to constantly going along with what others want, nines can often become out of tune with their own emotions and desires, and very unsure of what they themselves actually want. nines long to feel like their presence matters, and will often space out and daydream. i think barnaby is a nine because of his hatred of conflict seen in the library scene, and his desperation to deescalate the situation and keep the peace. barnaby is also very agreeable, and very submissive under merula’s leadership. despite this, nines may think that they want to be told what to do, but when this actually happens, others might find them stubborn and passive aggressive, just as it’s clear barnaby really does not want to be controlled by anyone. barnaby will also sacrifice his needs for others’, taking multiple spells for people throughout the game.
other type 9s imo - charlie weasley, chiara lobosca, orion amari

What subjects are some of the other students good at? like Ben is great at Charms. Penny is the same for potions. You mentioned how Ismelda likes History and you had a post about Jae Kim including how great he is at DADA.
There is a pretty big group of students who are good at Care of Magical Creatures: Barnaby Lee, Charlie Weasley, and Liz Tuttle, although they all have a little different approach to this subject. Charlie is obviously focused mostly on dragons, Liz is very concerned about everything involving the creature’s rights, and Barnaby… well, Barnaby simply likes pretty much all the creatures, and so it makes it easier for him to study CoMC.
There are two more students who are said to be good with creatures and therefore good at CoMC, and that’s Chiara Lobosca and Talbott Winger. However, it’s not really their main focus. Chiara is interested in Healing Magic which doesn’t quite correspond to one specific subject, but she really likes Divination, too. Talbott, on the other hand, is another student very good at Charms. Flitwick claimed that Talbott is one of his best students on a couple of occasions. Now, in Talbott’s second side quest, “Flying Solo”, Penny also said that Transfiguration is his favourite, but I’m not sure what to think about it, to be honest. I mean, it’d make sense since he’s an Animagus and he likes McGonagall a lot, but he’s also rarely connected with Transfiguration as a subject. So, I don’t know…He just makes me think more of Charms than Transfiguration, for some reason.
Andre Egwu is very good at Flying, as he’s a Quidditch player, and he often demonstrates various manoeuvres during classes. Badeea Ali is mostly interested in her painting and creativity, but it’s also implied that she’s good at Charms since she actually invents her own spells. Diego Caplan is great at duelling, which includes some elements of Charms and DADA, though I don’t think Diego was ever said to be particularly good in these subjects per se – it’s always about duelling in specific. Tonks and Tulip Karasu are mostly about being mischievous, although Tonks is good at duelling as well, and Tulip seems to have a generally curious mind as a typical Ravenclaw (she appeared pretty gutted when Jae said once that he doesn’t like to study).
Also, I just want to add to Jae that I believe that he’s the type of student who could be good at pretty much any subject, as long as he has the right teacher. When we saw him excel at DADA, it was the year of Rakepick, and she expressed interest in his potential back then. But Jae is pretty damn intelligent in general. For example, there’s a part in History of Magic classes where we’re goofing around and Penny brews a potion at the end of the classroom. Jae sometimes has a line then: “Try another pinch of that. What? I study sometimes”. And I’m sorry, but I don’t think that “studying sometimes” is enough to advise or correct Penny “Potions expert” Haywood from all people. I assume that Jae has to have a very good memory which allows him to remember a lot without studying much. The reason why he’s not good at Potions though is probably because Snape can’t motivate him properly.
Overall, I quite like how Jam City diversified our friends when it comes to their specialisations, though I think it could’ve been done better. And a pretty big part of this problem is that no one’s expertise is really fully unique – except for Penny who has a total monopoly for Potions making. Ben is good at Charms, but when it comes to duelling, we can go to Tonks, Diego, or even Bill Weasley. In other aspects, we can go to Badeea, for example. When it comes to the creatures, we have the whole range of choices (but it’s still Penny who appears in the creatures side quests, smh) etc. Even Ismelda with her History of Magic is not fully unique because this subject is actually primarily Rowan’s thing.
To be fair, pretty much all characters have something unique – it’s simply not always connected to school. But I’m just bothered by Penny’s situation in particular because I believe is partially a reason why she became such an overexposed character. I wish we had someone to take her role sometimes. In fact, this person could be very good at Herbology – because interestingly, we have no real expert here. Like, there’s no hardcore plant guy. And while Penny is focused on the process of Potions making itself, and she’s always eager to try more advanced recipes, the Plant Guy could be into it because of the fascinating properties of plants.
Sorry I digressed a bit by the end, but it’s something I was thinking about in the past, and I was reminded of it now.

Trouble in January
“Pssst.”
(Y/N) whipped her head around to see Penny, jumping back away from the corner they had been peaking around.
Dora, who had also been surprised by her fellow hufflepuff, was a couple steps away from the corner now as well.
“Fiddlesticks, Penny,” she said, shaking herself out, “you could scare a witch into a heart attack like that.”
“Chiara and Diego told me you were sneaking around outside the teacher’s lounge. I wanted to know what you guys were up to?”
A door clicked open and shut in the corridor adjacent to them and they all stayed quiet for a long moment before the steps clicked away down the hall.
Penny raised an eyebrow when they didn’t immediately answer her question.
“Alright, if you must know, we’re waiting for Professor McGonagall.”
“Why?”
“None of your business,” Dora replied matter-of-factly to her.
Penny raised another eyebrow, but Dora folded her arms, giving the hufflepuff prefect a stubborn look. Penny proceeded to fold her arms in reply.
“Okay,” she said, her voice stern, “but don’t lose hufflepuff any points, Dora.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know,” Dora waved her hand, turning back to peek down the corridor to the teacher’s lounge as the door clicked open again. “I’m the biggest ‘loser’ of hufflepuff.” She didn’t seem at all concerned with the idea.
Penny sighed, but didn’t walk away, apparently concerned with the idea of leaving them to their shenanigans more than being afraid of losing hufflepuff more points by being there herself.
That’s what (Y/N) thought at least until she saw the spark in Penny’s eye as she crouched down beside them.
“Okay,” she said, her voice alive, “I’m in.”
Dora grinned, “Here’s the plan—”
Passing notes in hallways and classrooms had already been something of a staple activity at Hogwarts, but became even more common as the next week waxed on. (Y/N) exchanged more than a few knowing looks with some of her classmates, including Jae Kim, Tulip Karasu, Fred and George Weasley. She was talking with Charlie late into one evening, a sofa in the Hufflepuff common room claimed by her and Charlie when she woke up suddenly, aware that almost the entire common room had emptied, including their various cohorts from other houses.
The Hufflepuff students, who had seen a range of students from all houses enter their common room after supper, hadn’t said a word or cast an unwelcoming look, some of them even joining them in their collaboration with giddy expressions.
(Y/N) blinked weary eyes, the few students in the common room who were still there working on homework in the corners of the lobby.
(Y/N) blinked awake, sitting up just enough so that she rustled Charlie who had fallen asleep on the couch beside her. He blinked his eyes open, his thunderbird eyes wide.
“What time is it?”
“Past time to be going to bed.”
He shook his head as if to shake the sleep off of him.
“Our plan…” she said, hesitating, “do you think it’s going to work?”
“How can it not?” He brushed his hair out of his eyes, including the strands that had come out of his ponytail in his sleep. “You got me to get Fred and George involved. It’s gotta work.”
(Y/N) smiled slightly, nodding.
“Alright,” she said, shoving him onto his feet, “we gotta get to bed.”
Her last class of the day had ended early, Professor Sprout preferring to let them go early as the last class before the weekend.
(Y/N) breathed a breath of fresh air exiting the greenhouses before she walked back into the castle, making her way up flights of stairs before landing on one of the landings right before Gryffindor tower.
She needed to talk to the Weasley twins.
But in her surprise, as she turned a corner into a corridor, she almost ran straight into Professor Dumbledore.
Though maybe she shouldn’t have been so surprised as it was the corridor that led to the massive golden griffin, behind which was the office she had visited on many occasions, usually for reprimand.
She made an effort not to look suspicious so that fact wouldn’t repeat itself.
Someone else was with Professor Dumbledore, and (Y/N) made a double effort not to look suspicious as she spied Professor McGonagall beside him.
“(Y/N) (Y/LN),” the headmaster said, bowing his head ever so slightly, his white beard shiny from the light of the afternoon sun coming through the windows.
“Headmaster. Professor,” (Y/N) nodded her head to each of them, endeavoring to look the prime of innocence.
That was probably what tipped Professor McGonagall off.
“What are you doing in the West towers this Friday afternoon, Miss (Y/LN)?” her transfiguration professor asked, a raised sharp eyebrow.
“Just off to the library for some studying,” (Y/N) said, trying to move past them nonchalantly.
Professor McGonagall crossed her arms as she turned to face (Y/N), following her with her piercing eyes, a light of realization entered beneath her hat, “didn’t you just come from the greenhouses?” she peered closer at (Y/N), “you would have passed right near the library on your way up here.”
“I—”
“Oh, let her go, Minerva,” Professor Dumbledore patted the woman’s arm, “I myself enjoy taking many circuitous routes around the castle when I’m on a venture. In fact, the other day, I discovered a balcony from which you could look at the black lake from this side of the castle. I would never have found it had I not taken the scenic route, as it were.” He turned to (Y/N), “good day, Miss (Y/LN).”
She could have sworn he winked.
“Good day, Professor,” she said, taking her leave before Professor McGonagall could object.
Professor McGonagall was on her way out of the teacher’s lounge Friday evening, the last of the professors to leave for the night, she left at her normal time. The Gryffindor quidditch team were practicing tomorrow and she liked to be there for one of the practices before each of their games.
It was always good to know what bet she wanted to make with Professor Snape on the outcomes before it came around to the day for a match.
That’s when she heard the explosion.
Professor McGonagall had been teaching long enough at Hogwarts to know the banned sound of students using magic when they weren’t supposed to.
Her ears followed the sound like a blood hound on a scent. It lead her down several sets of staircases and to the very edge of the castle.
Light exploded in front of her when she opened the doors to the Great Hall with a flick of her wand.
And then came the cacophony, a dinge of the loudest sounds Minerva had ever heard raged up before her, along with the brightest lights, and array of colors blazing in the rafters. And then there was the people, what appeared to be the whole of Hogwarts grinning at her and…clapping.
Albus, standing on the dais at the end of the room, spread his arms wide as Minerva entered the hall. The students around her began to gesture her forward, making a slope of an aisle from the front to the end of the hall. She reached the end with all the composure she could muster.
When she reached the dais, Albus motioned for her to stand beside him.
His hands padded down and the hall quieted enough for everyone to hear him.
“As many of you may know, Professor Kettleburn is retiring this year.” The Care of Magical Creatures Professor in question nodded from where he sat at the head table. “I’m sure we will all miss the professor very much…But, as many of you might have noticed, that means that there is a position open in the school.” Dumbledore passed his twinkling eyes around the full Great Hall. “The position of Deputy Head.” Dumbledore winked down into a collection of students below the dais. “A position which I offered to Professor McGonagall and which she has accepted!”
Minerva felt her eyes misting and batted away the thought with an inward flick of her wrist.
“I’m sure you can all join me in wishing the Professor good luck!”
The crowd roared.
And, almost as a side note, Dumbledore said, “and we would like to all thank Hufflepuff House for planning this surprise. Thank you Hufflepuff.” Dumbledore’s twinkling eyes passed down to the collection of yellow and black bedecked students, their faces bright and smiling, and the group standing at their head, a mix of houses represented in and of themselves. “Happy New Year Everyone!”

Headcanons for MC and the Circle Of Khanna after the events of HM
So these are the headcanons for my MC and the Circle Of Khanna post-Hogwarts Mystery....also I will be retconning Fred & Tonks’ deaths cause fuck JK
MC becomes a Curse Breaker after graduating from Hogwarts
MC marries Merula Snyde
The Circle Of Khanna would agree to be active after MC’s graduation. Beatrice, Fred & George and Cedric would still be active and would act as reconnaissance, their last work as the circle is to prevent the return of Voldemort or at the very least help Harry Potter
Penny would be a professional Potioneer. She keeps in touch with Beatrice and is proud that Bea is excelling in Hogwarts and could overcome her trauma. Penny was MC’s best witch at his and Merula’s wedding, while also holding a portrait of Rowan, so Rowan can be there for his best friend’s wedding as the best man! Even in death, Rowan will always be there for MC
Ben and Merula would be Curse Breakers with MC
As soon as the Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes opens up, Tulip drops what she’s doing and joins her old friends. Tonks would be there from time to time. But Tulip is proud of Fred & George. “I taught you two well.”
Tonks and Tulip are married. Remus donates sperm so Tonks and Tulip can have children. Tonks and Tulip raise Teddy together!
Barnaby, Alanza and Liz would become Magizoologists
Andre would become a Quidditch Keeper for the Pride of Portree
Charlie of course works in Romania as a Dragonologist
Jae is still a smuggler in Knockturn Alley
Badeea is a very talented artist, it’s because of her that Rowan’s spirit could be kept in a portrait

Ismelda is a magical historian and she is wondering when Dumbledore will ask her to take over for Binns. After the war, McGonagall asks Ismelda to take the position of History Of Magic Professor!
Skye, McNully, Orion and Rath became professional Quidditch players and commentators
Jacob took over R and used it for good. Under Jacob’s new leadership and reformation, R has been given a new goal. To prevent the return of the dark lord at all cost and should he return, destroy him and the Death Eaters.
The Circle of Khanna were Charlie's friends who helped smuggle Norbert out of Hogwarts
After the death of Cedric, The Circle reunites. Cedric's death is what brings the Circle out of the shadows. Every time they take out a Death Eater. They all whisper "For Cedric"
After witnessing Snape’s worst memory. Snape tells Harry “I cannot teach you Occlumency, but I know someone who can, an old student.” cue MC returning to Hogwarts to take over for Snape
Fred & George would invite the Circle Of Khanna to Dumbledore’s Army meeting, they would help teach everyone spells.

Thanks for the ask, Kate! 💛 I’m going to choose my new girl Saff today, because I’ve not answered any asks for her before!
💄 APPEARANCE
Artemis - Artemis has never put much effort into her appearance, to the point that she didn’t regularly brush her hair from the age of 8 until the age of 12. Even then, until she was about 15, it was pretty much only Penny that brushed it. As an adult, she is much better at taking care of herself, but she still manages to look scruffy in pretty much all situations.
Ethel - Ethel likes to have her hair back off her face so that it’s out of her way. Unfortunately, she is forever losing hair ribbons, so she has to keep a supply of them on her at all times.
Ophelia - Ophelia put on a LOT of weight in her first year at Hogwarts, it being the first time in her life she had ever been able to eat proper meals that tasted good and filled her up, as multiplying food magically decreases the nutritional value and taste. She got a bit teased for her gluttony, after which point she started to rein it in.
Saffron - Saffron was very blonde as a child, to the point of being almost white-haired, but as she got older it darkened to a more honey blonde colour. As an adult, it is almost mousey brown in the winter, but goes blonde in the summer.
🔥 DISLIKES
Artemis - can we just point out the irony of the flame being a symbol for dislikes for Artemis? Anyway, I digress. Artemis dislikes Diego Caplan. She can’t deal with people being overly flirtatious, and he is. He really is.
Ethel - Ethel is a big supporter of her local Quidditch team, the Chudley Cannons. She doesn’t like the fact that they just keep slipping further and further down the league each season. Honestly, someone needs to have a word with their manager. She’d do it, but she’s too busy sparring with Lysander.
Ophelia - Ophelia hates it when the girls in her dormitory talk about how tough their lives are. Like, she is so sorry that your new coin purse isn’t pretty enough to hold all your gold, Caro. Ugh.
Saffron - Saffy doesn’t like it when people laugh at her. She shrugs it off, and she’s not going to change for anyone, but even so. It’s unkind. People shouldn’t be unkind to others, because every single person in this world is a miracle.
⛄️ SEASONAL
Artemis - one Christmas when she was five and he was fifteen, Artemis’ older brother Jacob challenged her to see who could eat the most cauliflower cheese. Artemis won the contest, but was violently sick afterwards. She still cannot eat cauliflower cheese.
Ethel - Ethel LOVES the Christmas season. She is a terrible impulse buyer, however, and will spend far too much money on extravagant (and sometimes bizarre) gifts for her loved ones. As an adult, she sees Christmas as an excuse for parties and get-togethers, and her social calendar is rammed at this time of the year.
Ophelia - Ophelia never went home for Christmas whilst she was at Hogwarts, because she didn’t want her mother to have to struggle unduly. Because of the effect multiplying food has on the taste, Ophelia’s mother refused to do it at Christmas, and Ophelia didn’t want to either be another mouth for her to feed, or the reason that her siblings can’t have as much food as they’d like. She never told her mother this, of course. Instead, she would write home to say what a wonderful time she was having with her girlfriends.
Saffron - Saffron sees herself as being incredibly lucky to have two very different Christmasses each year. Her mother, Anthea, doesn’t celebrate Christmas itself, instead she celebrates the winter solstice. There are no presents involved, but the two of them (along with whatever guests Anthea has invited) adorn themselves with wreaths of holly and ivy and make an altar with items that bring them joy. They light candles and burn incense and stay up overnight to watch the candles burn. At daybreak they dab citrus oil on their acupoints and dance outside as the sun rises. Saff loves the solstice, but does miss the presents and the gingerbread. Thankfully, her beloved dad is there to ensure that she gets a traditional Christmas too, complete with vegan roast dinner, Love Actually, and lots of presents - even for the bunnies.

Veruca Carlyn McQuaid is an Irish witch born into a pureblood family, and is the second child to Elroy and Wilhelmina McQuaid. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1984-1991 and was sorted into the Slytherin House. She excelled in Defence Against the Dark Arts and Flying classes at school. After graduation, she becomes an Auror. Veruca later marries Diego Caplan. They have two daughters, Marisol and Carina, and a younger son, Ruairí. She continued to work as an Auror some time after the war before resigning and later became a ballet instructor.

〕Background〔
Veruca was born late August in 1973 to Elroy and Wilhelmina McQuaid. She is a pure-blood witch and a member of the noble House of Mac Uáid. Veruca and her older brother Coby grew up in the Mac Uáid Manor in Kinsale, Ireland.
As a child, Veruca was a shy girl who always hid behind her parents or brother. Coby had taken Veruca to the nearby park where they met some of the neighborhood kids. Two of the kids that she spent time with were Carson Ivey and Merula Snyde. Veruca and Carson were quick to become close friends, while Merula took some time due to her attitude.
Since Veruca was an emotional child, she's had sudden outburst with accidental magic and was taught at home by family members such as Obsidian, Miksa, and Selma to prevent any mishaps within a muggle school. She eventually learned how to control her magic, and some basic level of reading and writing that she no longer needed private tutoring. Though her mother wanted to keep homeschooling her, Elroy's insistence that it will be good for Veruca to be around other kids especially since Carson would be with her, Wilhelmina eventually gave in and Veruca later went to public school.
Veruca showed a keen interest in quidditch from a young age. During one of the family reunions, her father Elroy took part in the quidditch competition. Veruca was on the sidelines watching her father play and nearly fell over the railing because she wanted to be with her dad. Elroy eventually taught Veruca how to fly a broom and play quidditch. Veruca enjoyed playing as a beater and learning how to do a bunch of tricks on the broom, most of which nearly gave her parents a heart attack.
During a camping trip, Veruca found a baby bat out of its nest with a broken wing. Wanting to help the small animal, Veruca brought the bat to her father and they both took care of it. At the time, since she was very young herself, Veruca had been calling the bat "Gambyt." The name eventually became "Gambat" with Elroy helping his daughter with her pronounciation. When Gambat was finally healed, Veruca tried to get him to go back to his nest but every time Veruca put him down Gambat would fly back into her hands and cling onto her. Seeing how Veruca and Gambat have formed a bond, Wilhelmina and Elroy let their daughter keep the bat.
When Coby went missing, Elroy and Wilhelmina tried not to let Veruca outside of the manor to avoid any publicity. Veruca was never really left alone, always accompanied by either her parents or one of the manor staff. Since she was still a kid, Elroy let her continue playing just in the yard. He even allowed Carson and Merula to come over so Veruca wouldn't be lonely. Carson was a good distraction for Veruca, both were making the best of the situation as best as kids can. However, with Merula, and how her parents were sent to Azkaban, had been very antagonistic towards the two. The two were confused that Merula would treat them horribly, insulting their families and even go as far to say Coby was dead.
Angered by Merula, Veruca pushed her to the ground and they started fighting. Wilhelmina and one of the maids came out to stop the girls from fighting, scolding them while checking them for any bruises. Merula ignored the maid tending to her, calling everyone there crazy before storming off, thus ending their friendship. Wilhelmina questioned the other two on what happened, Carson didn't know what to say. Veruca on the other hand was upset, and asked her mother if Coby really was dead before breaking down. Wilhelmina did her best to console her daughter.
After the fall out with Merula, Veruca had become more closed off and cautious towards people outside of her family. She's now more protective of the people she cares about and more observant towards those who try to get close to her. Carson continues to be by her side, being her closest friend and confidant. Veruca isn't too eager to make new friends, letting Carson be the more sociable one of the duo.

〕Appearance〔
Veruca has fair skin tone, green eyes, dark brown hair and stands at an average height of 5 feet and 3 inches or 160 centimeters.
Years 1 - 3
Years 4 - first half of Year 6
The first attire is her casual outfit. Second is her Valentine's Ball, and the third is her outfit for Festival Fun. She replaces the vest for the school sweater in her uniform.
Year 6 - Year 7
Veruca’s attire now consists of a black loose sweater over a black corset styled top and pants. In Year 7, she switches the top and sweater for a long sleeved top with a netted and meshed collar. Her hair is now cut asymmetrically short.
Post Hogwarts
Veruca has grown her hair out and tied in a loose and messy bun. She wore a purple top and a black and purple floral dress.
After her marriage with Diego, Veruca wears an off the shoulder maroon top with a light grey skirt. Her hair is swept over to the side and she wears a necklace with the letter D for Diego. On dates, Veruca wears a light blue strapless dress with a matching button up blouse over it.
When working as an Auror, Veruca puts on a black attire. She wears something reminiscent of her Year 7 attire, a long coat and gloves. Her hair is tied up in a messy bun.

〕Personality〔
Veruca exhibits a cool and relaxed personality, usually sporting a neutral expression on her face. Her demeanor compliments this, being informal towards professors, prefects and fellow classmates. She occasionally can be quite irritable, moaning in annoyance or sighing in displeasure when it comes to anyone, or anything she dislikes. Her Irish accent comes out sometimes whenever she's irritated, it also comes out whenever she gets embarrassed.
Veruca can be mischievous and playful at times. When Rowan came up with the idea of having a pillow fight using the Depulso spell they learned in Charms, Veruca claimed it to be a stupid idea but later engaged in the activity the same night with her friend.
She apparently also loves cute things, as when she first saw the swarm of Puffskeins during Care of Magical Creatures and she was enamored by them, hugging a handful of them. She gets easily embarrassed if someone were to catch her in this state.
In spite of her outward calm, she is prone to react rather passionately about threats to those she deeply cares about. Veruca describes herself as someone who was always blaming herself, for all the harm that she's caused to those dear to her. Several examples are when Rowan was struck with ice from the Ice Vault, and when Ben casted Langlock on Charlie. She even places her friends over her own pride, going as far as to shed tears openly in the Great Hall for Rowan's memorial after witnessing her death at the hands of Rakepick.

〕Relations〔
Coby McQuaid
Veruca and Coby have sort of a “complicated” relationship. The two clearly care for each other, but with how both were raised differently due to Coby's disappearance, they have a bit of a competitive relationship that also caused them to engage in childish disputes that continued on into adulthood. Coby may be the oldest, but he can definitely be the most immature between the two, something Veruca often points out, causing Coby to whine about it. They can never play any game together as their competitiveness gets out of hand and someone ends up tackling the other to the ground.
Carson Ivey
Veruca's most trusted companion, and childhood friend. The two have known each other since they were 5.They both know almost everything about each other, including their deepest secrets. They have done everything together since childhood. The two also have their own special handshake they made up when they were kids, they still do it even into their adulthood. With Carson's intellect and Veruca's cunning the two make a formidable duo and can cause chaos if they so please. They both know when the other is feeling down about something and are quick to bring it up before the other tries to play it off as something else.
Rowan Khanna
Veruca’s closest friend, whom she confides in when she cannot tell Carson something. Veruca trusts Rowan so much, she was the only one who knew about Veruca’s crush on Diego. During the period that they attended Hogwarts, Rowan is revealed to be an exceptionally good roommate. Veruca mentions that Rowan has sweet little quirks, such as folding back the pages in text books of subjects she thinks Veruca would struggle on. She also leaves messages on the mirror when Veruca takes a shower and lets Veruca climb into her bed when she’s had a bad dream. Veruca grows very concerned when Rowan gets hurt during their ventures to the Vaults after she was struck with ice, and cries at her memorial in the Great Hall.
Chiara Lobosca
Chiara is another of Veruca’s closest friends. Veruca turns to Chiara when she needs more of a compassionate mindset over logical ones. Veruca cares about Chiara’s wellbeing and always makes sure to ask if she’s doing okay, she even takes the liberty to drag Chiara along with her, not wanting her to be alone. Veruca's fiercely protective over her, and wouldn't hesitate to get into a fight if someone tried to mess with Chiara. After the events that happened in Sixth Year, Chiara was the only one Veruca was able to go to for comfort when she was in such a vulnerable state, and in turn, Veruca would get enraged whenever something or someone tries to hurt Chiara.
Diego Caplan
Despite having classes together, Veruca and Diego only started hanging out after the former went to seek Diego out for extra dueling tips. Diego hits on Veruca, but much to the surprise of Rowan, knowing Veruca has always scared these kinds of people away, Diego receives positive results. Veruca even admits to liking when Diego calls her “Ruca.” After Diego helps her with her dueling skills, Veruca hints a liking or attraction to Diego to the point of admitting to Rowan that she had a crush on the Hufflepuff. Veruca’s attraction towards Diego is further evidenced when he starts hanging out with Carson and Jae. Elroy even notices how Veruca interacts with Diego during the summer and teased the two for how much they reminded him of his and Wilhelmina's relationship when they were young. Few years after Hogwarts, the two get married and have three children, and Veruca appears to be even more open about her feelings with Diego.
Jae Kim
Jae is Veruca’s detention buddy and fellow troublemaker. Both he and Veruca tend to roast each other in greeting. When Veruca is in a tight pinch with certain items and objects, Jae’s always there with the right stuff, usually offering them to her at a ‘small,’ discount. Jae is also the only one Veruca can act all smug and casual around as they both have a handful of similarities.
Skye Parkin
Veruca and Skye have a sort of competitive friendship. Having a brother herself, Veruca knows what it’s like being pressured by family to be the best they can be. They often get into minor disagreements when it comes to the way they study. Veruca even claims that Skye ripping out pages from a book is ‘a crime.’ When it comes to quidditch, the two work extra hard to win for their house, sometimes using that as a means to show off their skills. Despite playing different positions, Skye being a chaser and Veruca being a beater, they make a good team.
Tulip Karasu
Like with Jae, Veruca and Tulip roast each other in greeting. Veruca likes Tulip’s style of pranking, as it reminds her of Carson’s. Although they don’t hang out as much as Carson does with Tulip, the two can be good friends and work well together. Veruca can relate to Tulip in regards to “rules are made to be broken” as Veruca always often gets herself into trouble whether it’s intentional or not.
Merula Snyde
Once upon a time, the two were close childhood friends alongside Carson. However, after Merula’s parents were sent to Azkaban and Coby went missing, Merula went back against Veruca and severed ties with her. Veruca was heartbroken at the betrayal and eventually grew resentful of Merula. In Hogwarts, the two are always at odds against each other with Merula trying to ruin Veruca’s reputation even more. Near the end of their years at Hogwarts, Merula attempts at getting Veruca’s help yet the latter always sends her off on a goose chase.
Gambat
Like his owner, Gambat likes to coax mischief making. He’s been with Veruca since she was a child and the two can talk to each other as if they understand what the other is saying. He’s a very cheeky and smug bat, he also likes to insult or roast Veruca, especially when it comes to her questioning her feelings or actions towards something.
Elroy & Wilhelmina McQuaid
Veruca cares greatly for her parents. And while her mother was more on the strict side, Veruca knew her mother cared just as much for her. The fear of something happening to their daughter after Coby went missing was enough to cause Wil overbearing, Elroy was the one who usually had to calm and reassure her. On the other hand, Elroy adored Veruca. He always babied her when she was little, given in to her demands and wants. Elroy was the one who taught her how to fly a broom and introduced her to Quidditch. He was ecstatic when Veruca came home with her own Quidditch plaque.
Donagh & Nevaeh McQuaid
Veruca adores her grandparents, Nevaeh always spoiled her with so much affection. Donagh, despite his stoic mannerism, has shown such gentle care whenever it came to Veruca. He treated her the same way he treated his daughter. When Donagh passed, Veruca held herself in her room until Nevaeh came in to comfort her. Nevaeh always insisted that her grandchildren go out and do things without needing her approval. Her reason is "because she's old, what would an old woman's approval matter anyway!" Nevaeh also would sneak some candy to Veruca whenever her mother wasn't looking.
Naoise McQuaid
Grand Uncle Naoise was always a quiet and kind man. Like his brother Donagh, Naoise took gentle care over Veruca. Likewise with Veruca treating her uncle with care. The two have their own little tradition the same way Veruca has with every other family member. And that is storytelling. Whether it's Naoise recounting his past for Veruca, or Veruca telling her adventures with the vaults. Usually, Naoise is the one telling stories of his childhood since Veruca always wanted to know what her grandparents were like when they were young.
Áine Lavery
Aunt Áine and Veruca's relationship can best be described as awkward niece and rich wine aunt. Since Áine has no children, she has taken to spoil her brother's children. When Áine found Veruca's little collection of brooches and pins, Áine would always buy one from whatever country she's visiting and give it to her niece. Áine usually ignores the articles in the Daily Prophet, until she finds a few articles with her niece being shown in a horrible light. Outraged, she took a chimera drawn carriage to Hogwarts, demanding her niece to clean up her act as she is a lady and not a ruffian. Veruca spent the entire time her aunt was at Hogwarts trying to be a perfect lady while also stopping her aunt from fighting Skeeter.

〕Etymology〔
The name Veruca is derived from the Slavic name veruscha/verushka (meaning true, honest, faith) and means vivacious and strong willed.
The original Gaelic form of McQuaid was Mac Uaid, which means son of Wat. The surname McQuaid was first found in County Monaghan (Irish: Muineachán) located in the Northern part of the Republic of Ireland in the province of Ulster.
The Irish name Carlyn claims descent from the O’Connors in Donegal where “Carlan” (from the Irish “carla” meaning a “wool-comb” and “an” meaning “one who” which roughly translates as “one who combs wool”) was in Irish O’Carlain or O’Caireallain.

LMAO, I kind of hate myself for saying this, considering how super popular he is with the fandom...but Talbott. 😂
I'm sorry, I’ve considered other endgame ships in the past for Carewyn like Chiara/Carewyn and Diego/Carewyn, and they are both friggin’ adorable...but whenever I write Carewyn and Talbott interacting, they always have such fun platonic chemistry, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see them being not so platonic. The stuff I wrote for them in the second half of my Lone Wolves roleplay series really accents this --
Carewyn: “(curiously) So…what are you?”
Talbott: “Hn?”
Carewyn: “Your Animagus form.”
Talbott: “(smirks) What do you think?”
[Carewyn raised her eyebrows. Talbott’s smirk broadened, to reveal teeth.]

Carewyn: “But judging by that reaction, I reckon that’s way off. Your mother was a swan, so you could be a bird of some kind…but considering you’re so opposed to Quidditch and flying, I have a bit of a hard time seeing that…”
Talbott: “(coolly) I said I’m not interested in Quidditch friendlies. I never said I didn’t like flying.”
Carewyn: “(amusedly) Aha! A bird it is, then. Thanks for the hint. Care to give me any more?”
Talbott: “(very dryly) Nope. One’s enough.”
Carewyn: “(smirks) Hn! If you’re a swan yourself, I guess you’d have to be a mute one.”
[Talbott once again snorted loudly. This time, though, he was having a lot of trouble keeping the smirk off his face, which likewise made Carewyn smile.]
I ultimately think Talbott and Carewyn would probably be way too serious of a pair-up (I mean, seriously, get these two some sunshine stat!!)...but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t see them being a pretty good couple, if they got together. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not taking down the Carion shipper flag anytime soon, because ultimate sunshine man Orion really helps Carewyn find some peace and contentment and pursue better psychological health, which she severely needs -- but after giving it some thought, I’ve decided that, of all of Carewyn’s friends, Talbott is probably the one who’d be the best choice for “alternate love interest.” He’s one of the few who can make Carewyn laugh a lot with his equally dry, witty sense of humor, but he’s also blunt enough to call her out on her crap, intellectual enough to engage her interest, and encouraging enough that he wouldn’t subconsciously push her perfectionism any harder the way that people like Andre do. And on the flip side, Carewyn is able to tap into Talbott’s feelings very deeply with both her strong Legilimency potential and highly developed empathy, making it so she can easily understand and articulate Talbott’s feelings when he has trouble saying the right words, and she shares his strong desire to make the world better and prevent other innocent people from being hurt the way she and Talbott were. Plus they honestly are the types who’d prefer a quiet existence rather than anything flashy or loud. There would admittedly be a bit of a conflict of interest in the working world if these two were a couple, since I see Talbott as an Auror and Carewyn as a lawyer who work together rather frequently -- but yeah, their career paths would still match up really well too. I’m kind of reminded of how Barbara Gordon in Batman Beyond ended up becoming a police chief who was married to Gotham City District Attorney Sam Young. 😆 I also personally headcanon Talbott on the “A” side of the LGBT+ community, just like Carewyn and Orion are (though I headcanon Talbott as demi, Carey as ace/pan, and Orion as gray-A), so that matches up too! 💜🤍🖤

TUA Hogwarts AU because why not
so i know this has been done a lot but i saw some fanart where the handler was the headmistress and it inspired me so uh yeah
i kinda wrote this as one long ramble as i thought of new ideas so its not very well organised oops
vanya and five are still siblings but none of the others are
vanya is two years older than five and he hates it
vanya is a 4th year five is a 2nd year
theyre both slytherins but vanya would rather be in hufflepuff and five would rather be in ravenclaw
allison is also a 4th year slytherin and is vanya’s best friend
and shes got a crush on luther (ok i dont ship them but it is canon to some extent so im keeping it)
luther is a 4th year gryffindor who follows the rules
diego is a 3rd year gryffindor who does not follow the rules
they hate each other
then there’s klaus and ben who are both 3rd year hufflepuffs and keep getting in trouble
luther hates them because they always seem to be involved with whatever shit diego’s fucked up this time
luther is part giant
he can and will carry misbehaving 1st/2nd/3rd years straight to the headmistress’s office
he’s good at defence against the dark arts, care of magical creatures, astronomy and not much else

Hufflepuff Five is so good! Are the Hargreeves lives as students as adventurous like the main crew from HP? What about the Ministry of Magic? Would they get involved if someone caught wind of the sibling’s powers that weren’t just magic?
Their lives are SO wack honestly like, they just vibe. They just are going through their magical youth being absolute feral children who don’t trust adults as far as they can throw them while trying to hide their weird funky powers and also ravenously going through magical feats like they’re going out of style
Luther is every sibling’s go-to practice partner because apparently durability extends to being like? Slightly magic resistant? Basically if you hit Luther with a spell it will only be like, maybe half power? So the siblings use him as a magical shield half the time and an experiment the other half and Luther just Suffers Through This until it all goes wrong and he ends up as a werewolf, oops
(But at least Ben is alive! Honestly the only reason Luther wasn’t straight up mauled to death was a combo of his durability, Ben’s proficiency in healing magic, and Ben managing to befriend the acromantulas)
(Luther eventually gets a sense of humor about this after long years of working on accepting himself and constantly threatens to bite his siblings or makes comments about them looking extra tasty when they irritate him)
Allison is a quidditch star, super popular and athletic as all hell. She probably ends up being the Slytherin team captain, honestly. Allison is all glamor and charisma and in her later years of hogwarts has an absolute blast. Allison is very much functional passing so she’s usually the front man to get the professors off their backs, but she also is the front man for a lot of the shit that the family sell for extra spending money. Five and Ben might make potions, but Allison rules the underground black market in slytherin with an iron fist (which gets them into shenanigans involving other kids who Owe Debts)
Diego is on the gryffindor quidditch team and so him and Allison are constantly at each other’s throats on the pitch (Allison sometimes rumors him during matches when she gets within earshot which makes all of the siblings yell at him but she maintains that he gets to use his stupid powers to score points so she should get to as well). Diego gets roped into everything because he’s super soft. He starts a lot of fights because he has vigilante genes so he serves a lot of detentions. His house tolerates him losing them points because the man is a wizard with a quaffle
(Diego and Allison actually practice a lot together, which their respective teams are like HMMMM over but they’re siblings and slytherin knows that Allison would never hesitate to knock Diego off his broom and wave cheerily as he falls to his death, and gryffindor is aware that Diego can, should, and must throw a ball directly at Allison’s dumb face if she gets too close to him because of the Cain Instinct)
(Honestly Allison and Diego do a LOT for interhouse unity, showing that you can still be ride or die for each other while also wanting greatly to kill each other uwu)
Ben is too independent for his own good, which is what gets him into trouble. He likes gardening, and he likes herbs, and sometimes he’s just GOTTA go into the forbidden forest on a full moon to gather these very specific ingredients, c’mon. He also just. Likes spending time in the forbidden forest. He’s Hagrid’s favorite student because he doesn’t bat an eye at all the weird magical creatures, bc homeboy got an eldritch horror in his navel. Ben makes friends with the acromantulas (who have a healthy respect for him after the Horror ate a few of them), patiently avoids the centaurs, and bribes the pixies into giving him their shed wings through liberal application of jam stolen from the Hogwarts kitchens.
You know what Allison is functional passing and Ben is distinguished passing, all their teachers assume that Ben is the most put together of them but they’re WRONG. They haven’t seen Ben at two in the morning yanking Vanya out of ben because if they don’t break into greenhouse four and help those poor fucking plants the first years are tending to they’re all going to DIE and that’s not fair??? ben is single handedly going to save all those poor plants (and all those first year’s grades)
Vanya is just VIBING, he ends up coming out as trans in fourth year and gets to be roommates with Ben which is pretty sweet. If only Ben didn’t drag him into shenanigans?? All the teachers are like “ah yes Vanya, such a quiet boy not like his siblings at all” but Vanya can will should and must climb onto the roof of the astronomy tower to play his violin because He Just Likes To Be Tall. Vanya once punched a snobby ravenclaw kid in the nose and then stared them down saying “the teachers will never believe you.”
Vanya steals Luther to practice his powers with in unused classrooms the most?? he’s durable. he’ll be fine if Vanya blasts him into a wall with his powers lol
Vanya’s solution to all their problems is “do you want me to blow it up with my powers?” or “do you want me to kill them for you?”
(All of the siblings now refuse to duel with Vanya except for Luther bc Vanya is RUTHLESS. He WILL murder his siblings (almost) given the chance. They’re all so lucky that Ben is so good at healing and carries extra vials of healing potions on his person otherwise Madame Pomfrey would be VERY CONCERNED)
Five and Klaus probably get into the most shenanigans? Klaus gets less and less afraid of ghosts the more he runs into nice ones like Fred Weasley. Fred also lovingly nurtures Klaus’s absolutely terrible sense of humor and encourages him to prank the whole school. Klaus knows ALL the secret passageways thanks to Fred, a previous owner of the Maurauder’s map, so he’s just like. Constantly in the walls. He once dropped out of the ceiling to get to transfiguration in time and nobody even commented on it because Klaus is just Like That.
(A few people see Klaus’s boney elbows and knobbley knees and thinks he’s a good target for bullying just because he’s a slytherin and interhouse awfulness absolutely it at an all time high so recently after the war. YEAH his siblings step in and put the fear of god into any bullies, but Klaus fights like a cornered raccoon.)
Five is just way too smart and curious for his own good. He likes to poke around, figure things out, and also make money. Five does people’s homework, charges them for potions or rune work, tutors, dismantles shit in the chamber of secrets, ALSO explores the secret passageways (and finds some that weren’t on the map), is lovingly bullied into Friendship Activities with his housemates, breaks into the other houses’s common rooms for funsies, and keeps getting fed by the house elves who found out he can ‘apparate’ like them (without a wand) and have apparently adopted him against his will
Five is the sibling who has his fingers in like. ALL the pies. and just constantly pops up and drags them into things. Five will be helping Klaus with potions homework then glance up and tell Diego he’s cashing in the favor he’s owed for carving runes into Diego’s knives and that Diego now gets to break into Douglas Eddington’s room to steal back Lana Delwich’s diary so that Five can trade it to Lana for her rare Solomon Babik chocolate frog card which Five can give to Barnaby Beeson in exchange for a Large Distraction of Five’s Choice and a sketchy book on ward breaking which Five needs so he can break into the headmaster’s office to get a confiscated dark magic book that has some information Five needs to alter a potion that he’s probably going to make Luther drink later
Five is the sibling who is like “Ugh, I thought I was trading for some nundu ingredients but now i have a Whole Baby Nundu in the basement :/”
Which, of course, Klaus wants to keep despite the poison breath.
“This is literally one of the most dangerous magical creatures, we are not keeping it.” Luther says, unimpressed. However, he definitely has it cradled in his arms and makes kissy faces at it when he thinks no one is looking. (Apparently baby toxic nundu breath only makes Luther sneeze, so there’s that?)
“If you guys are arrested for smuggling I am not bailing you out.” Is Allison’s only decree about the matter.
Honestly I wouldn’t be shocked if someone DID eventually find out about one of the siblings’ powers - however, they would come to entirely the wrong conclusion about them?? Because this is a world of MAGIC and so everything magical has to have a magical explanation, right???
Luther is durable as all fuck???? Uhhhhh maybe he has some like. Troll blood or giant blood something back in his family line, obviously not something he would ever want the world to know about bc of species-ism

Primarily the kids started off paranoid because they believed that their abilities indicated that they weren’t the same type of magic, and they didn’t want to be returned to their father, and then it progressed into “these abilities might make people scared of us (looking at you allison, with your imperius-ass abilites)” or “we can’t afford that kind of scrutiny or curiosity about our powers (they might find out luther is a werewolf or something idk)” and “if we are ‘desirable’ children with ‘rare abilities’ the government might try to split us up and adopt us into weird pureblood families or something OR might try to lock us up (like where would they even put Ben??)”

Eyes: Her eyes are light blue with tiny brown specks.

Height: She's a short baby - I'm bad with heights but I'd say 1,66m (5'4"ft).
• Her most prominent characteristic is her Piebaldism - that she got while her mother was pregnant and was hit by a miscast curse. She knows he had a crush on her cousin and pushed him to ask her out.
Linda Hoàng (OC): Her best girlfriend, tiny and chubby, the cutest and quirkiest Slytherin anyone could meet. The first Slytherin female seeker in many years. A hands-on creatures lover - the one getting her hands dirty, literally. Half Vietnamese and muggle-born - yeah, nobody knows what she's doing in Slytherin.
Andre: Just as sassy as Aspen and the one to give her fashion advice. He basically takes the young Slytherin as his "apprentice" - partially afraid she would become like a mini Merula/Ismelda. He teaches her dangerous spells the teachers don't.
Ismelda: For many years they don't get along, Ismelda's humor is too dark and cruel for her taste, and she's overall very shady. That until water starts to get shaky on her and her cousins' side and they need her help. She's forced to get to know her better when she finds out Phoenix has a crush on her, and through that, she discovers they're not that different after all.
Murphy: She has a crush on him for a while, but even when that dies down, she sticks around because she loves hearing him talk about strategy and thinks he's one of the smartest people she has met in Hogwarts. They play intense chess matches.
Jae: They share the same chaotic energy so it's just natural. He's her loyal detention companion and they enjoy having walks around Hogwarts talking about nothing in particular.
