eddie feelings realization scene where he just breaks down and it looks bad and - oh fuck -
but it turns out he‘s actually breaking down because he finally figured it out. he finally realized what had always felt a bit off, what was always missing from not only his love life, but his view of himself as a person. he finally feels a bit more whole. he gets it, gets himself a bit more now.
and what if chris is there, and he thinks eddie‘s having a bad, bad breakdown again, and he calls buck. and of course, buck comes over as fast as he can - and to his surprise, when he gently touches eddie‘s shoulder to get his attention as to not scare him with his sudden presence, and eddie looks up at him, he doesn‘t look like he‘s devastated. sure, he looks quite rattled, but - the main thing buck can read on his face is relief. relief, hopefulness, and a bit of something else?

Buck: “I wanted to tell you that I’m going to be a father, but it won’t change anything, I’ll still see you all the time.”
Chris: “Ok”
Buck: “Ok? Like you don’t have any questions?”
Chris: “No, I knew.”
Buck: “How..how did you know?”
Chris: “I heard dad call you daddy when you came round the other night.”

christopher is old enough for regular sleepovers and late nights hanging out with his friends but he’s still happy to hang out with buck and that just. chris is past the age of making buck hand drawn cards calling them bffs but that’s still his buck. buck is the only other adult in christopher’s life who chooses him. he’s not eddie’s son to buck. he’s christopher. buck jumped into a tsunami trying to go after him. chris ran to buck when he was upset about eddie dating ana. they held each other when eddie got shot. they go to the zoo together. they bake together. they have nights just the two of them. there’s no way chris didn’t have someone’s house he could go to, but eddie said he was gonna take him to buck’s and christopher didn’t suggest an alternative because he loves him. it’s so special. he’s out of the arts n crafts phase, maybe, but pizza and movies and buck getting tagged on christopher’s insta story next to string of emojis buck doesn’t know how to decipher but that ends in two hearts, well. that’s pretty good, too.

What if instead of the tsunami, we have just fun day with the family. Nothing bad happens.
Did I just binge this show in three months and become obsessed, yes. Did I get a sudden urge to sketch these idiots and their son, also yes.

The moment that will haunt me forever is Eddie standing in the back of Buck's hospital room, exhausted and overwhelmed to the point that he physically cannot answer Christopher's questions. That moment when Christopher asks about the tubes and he just shakes his head in frustration because he just can't. He can barely stand to look at Buck, he certainly can't bring himself to explain all of the machines that are Buck's only lifeline because he can hardly bring himself to face that reality at all.
This poor man is so drained—from staying close at the hospital, from arguing with a stubborn kid who's not supposed to be there, but who deserves to be, from trying to take care of the rest of the team, from trying to pretend he's not falling apart.
This man. This beautiful, loving man—who would do anything at all for his son, who is exceptional at communicating when it comes to Christopher—he couldn't bring himself to do more than shake his head in frustration when his son asked this question.
The amount of pain and fear that implies in Eddie is utterly heartbreaking.

very funny to me personally that the only sign of life oliver has given since the finale aired is to like a five second video of buck running his thumb over eddie’s shoulder in comfort
