Midge The Tree's Supernatural Garden Edits - Planting Overhaul Edition

While working on Planting Overhaul Mod, @lamare-sims and I tested a whole bunch of custom plants, and I noticed that some of them could use a tiny bit of help to make them even better.
So here's the edit of the iconic Supernatural Garden plants by @midgethetree.
Please note that this edit doesn't change how plants work and doesn't modify other functions, it's purely cosmetic. You no longer need plots from Midge's archive if you use Planting Overhaul Mod.
Most fixes concern fixing thumbnails on fruit, editing shine, smoothing out the meshes and translating the mod to russian.
But the biggest edit concerns the growable cowplant by wintermutea1 and the plasma fruit.
Cowplant plant and fruit were cleaned up and fixed with the help from @lamare-sims, it now has new growing states using meshes I converted and edited from Sims 4 (considerate drop of polycount). When the plant is ready to harvest, a bell appears on Cowplant's "neck", like this:
Plasma fruit was already very cool looking glowing in the dark, I added a tiny zest to it thanks to @platinumaspiration who showed me this trick and was patiently testing one edit after another with me correcting all of my mistakes. Look at it now:
Both fruit on the plant and harvested fruit are "animated" like this now.

The archive only contains the files that were edited, if you need additional mods that came in Midge's post, be sure to download the original mod first. Only the cowplant mod part was renamed.

🌷 4t2 pastel recolors of the CL fridge 🌼
okay, i knew right away these pastel recolors by midnights0ciety were too freakin’ cute to pass up! there’s 4 in total: purple, pink, yellow, and blue. they are on delonariel’s conversion of the cottage living fridge. however, i did edit their mesh ever so slightly by making it less shiny. it is, of course, included along with the files being compressed. as always, please lmk if you run into any issues. enjoy!~ ＊*♡( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ ）

Happy (almost belated) Valentine’s Day!
I received a request from @daydreamingdrawerette for a few objects from Sims 4 Discovery University converted to Sims 2, so here they are in all their glory.
The “Barrister Bookcase" and “The Teacher’s Desk” are cloned from a bookcase and desk respectively by @delonariel. Many thanks to them. There is clipping with the bookcase depending on which shelf the sim chooses to use, but I’m pretty sure that’s inevitable. The Barrister Bookcase can be found in Hobbies > Knowledge. The Teacher’s Desk can be found in Surfaces > Desks.
The Oh-So-Fine China Hutch is decorative and can be found in Surfaces > Miscellaneous.
The “If It Ain’ Broke End Table” has five deco slots. It can be found in Surfaces > End Tables.
And the “Beacon of Wisdom by Seymore Lighting” is functional and can be found in Lighting > Ceiling Lights.
All recolors for each are included.
Files are compressorized.

I know this was from so many years ago, (I did scroll all the way down to find it multiple times) and I have never done a wcif before... but the oils of the country painting has this weird issue where my sims can't move or do anything until I delete it, the error says stack overflow. I wouldn't be asking if this wasn't my favorite piece of cc ever, but is there any other version of it that might not have this issue?
Yes! Delonariel has a great version that also has repo add-ons for each of the separate paintings! I tested it in my game just now to be sure before posting. I'm fixing the old post with this information and if you still want this recolor for Delonariel's mesh, you can get it HERE!

Genie Lamp Default Replacement
A full replacement for genie lamp, now it looks really old and dusty.
For this replacement I used genie lamp extracted from The Sims 3 and shared by @delonariel here. I just resized and rotated it a bit to better fit the original lamp.
Genie animations work without problems with the new mesh.

Hi Esotheria, as suggested by Goat, I wonder if you can help me finding antique knickknack deco to put on bookshelves of my Elder Sims? :)
Hello, friend of Goat! ^^ You opened quite the Pandora box with this ask, lemme tell you! xD There’s just SO MUCH good clutter to be found all across the web; listing each individual piece would take me months! So in that name, I’ll be mostly listing general sites and blogs where I download my clutter from, with only the occasional recommendation for specific pieces of cc. I trust that you’ll do the ‘hard’ but enjoyable job of browsing through those recommended sites. ;)
- First and foremost: Garden of Shadows. Obvious one, I know, but I can’t stress enough just how many terabytes of cc gems the forum contains! From the Antiques and Oddities section to Monthly themes, events, and gift exchanges, GoS is the go-to resource if you want weird and wonderful cc, clutter included. Even if you think you’ve browsed it all and know everything the forum has to offer, revisiting some classics (e.g. Advent 2012) with fresh eyes might put you in the way of awesome clutter that you missed the first time around!
- Another obvious one: The PlumbBob Keep. Like GoS, it’s a HUGE forum with tons of hidden treasures, so definitely worth taking a look at. These fine porcelain plates, for example, look like something an elderly sim with a refined taste would display on their shelf! The forum also has a Conversions sections that’s worth checking out, because...
- ...conversions from other games like Bioshock, Skyrim, TSM, Dragon Age, etc. are a great way to get your hands on unique clutter! Some of my go-to object converters include Yolartut, Delonariel, Veranka, Hafiseazale, Amovitam, Mistyfluff, and Kativip. The last is an individual creator, but also the name of a whole forum that shares super-cool conversions, among many other things. I understand that most of the preview pics on Kativip’s site are sadly busted these days, but don’t let it discourage you! The site is absolutely worth digging through, even blindly.
- If you want clutter that’s shabby chic, old-timey but still contemporary in essence, SimPearls is a good place to look. The forum requires registration to be able to download from, but a number of resident SimPearls creators (e.g. Kim, Amythestfenix, Deatherella, Betsy4arts) also have personal blogs that you can check out!
- An oldie but goldie, Parsimonious features tons of great stuff that holds up incredibly well despite its age. Their creations are sorted in sets by room rather than by type of object, but there’s clean previews for each included piece, so browsing around should be a breeze!
- A more recent(ish) creator, MrsReval has many, many droolworthy object conversions. How about this cool pipe for your elders’ shelves, or these fancy figurines?
- Pocci/Gardenbreeze is a somewhat forgotten creator with a limited, if nice selection of quality cc. Their Roses Mini Set is a personal fave I can’t seem to play without, and then there’s also these sunflowers in a vase and these dainty deco birds that I’m submitting for your consideration.
- Speaking of forgotten creators: make sure to not miss out on HolySimoly, Adele, Om/Avalon, and Ogulama: all dead sites that have been archived courtesy of Liquid Sims. (*Protip: if you ever run across a creator who has disappeared and/or deleted their stuff, @sims2packrat likely has backups!)
- Riekus13‘s Tumblr is an absolute must for top-tier cc recolors! I don’t think there’s a cc object in existence that Riekus hasn’t recolored at some point, so their download archive doubles as a cc catalogue in its own right!
- Moxxa is a retired creator who shared many gorgeous converted object sets back in the day. Note that her cc style is mostly modern/contemporary, but maybe you can still find something nice for your elders’ shelves. How about this decorative model plane, for example?
- Someone else you might wanna check out is Beautifulnerdkitty. Like Moxxa, their cc is predominantly modern, but it’s so gorgeous and well done that it’d be a shame not to mention them!
- Pixelry is another member of the ‘gorgeous hq cc that’s not strictly antique but absolutely worth the effort‘ gang. Their original Tumblr got deleted and the link I’ve given only contains a small fraction of all the stuff they’ve shard over the years, so make sure to also check out their Old CC archive and SFS backup folder. (*Note: The Archive is on SimPearls so might require registration).
- Finally, a useful tip: sometimes, the best way to find good clutter is to rip it straight outta the games of other people via lot downloads! ;) I can’t even begin to tell you just how many unique pieces I’ve gotten just by plucking JodelieJodelie’s furnished lots; and you can do the same with any creator whose style you like!
I feel like there’s a ton of creators I’m forgetting to mention, but I believe there’s enough material here to keep you busy for a while. ;) Have fun downloading! ^^

Getting Back to Normal
Good evening, friends. I believe that my hiatus will be over, and I will return to creating remodels for The Sims 2. I did play a little tonight, but more so to get my CC folder in order. So many creations and so little texture resources. I have come to the conclusion that I will have to keep my favorite parts of every set I have downloaded and there are many. I have so many favorite content creators and right now it's mostly object downloads. Hair and clothing will be next, but once I get this all together, I will definitely create a backup because going on downloading sprees does take up a lot of time and space LOL. Every time I see something I like I will download it and try it out in my game. Then I will make sure that all the files are in lower case except for mods. Anyway, I thought I would share some screen shots of one of my favorite lots. It's the Smelly Deli by @plumbtales. Since I will be working on remodels and adding CC to my CC free lots (these will not be uploaded at this time), I probably will put my Sims Stories on hold. It's still pretty early in the game I might start over again with the same setup I have after adding CC. Not sure yet. But for now, I will have fun, with makeovers and share photos of my CC free lots with CC 👻. For now here is the Smelly Deli with some CC additions and a few changes. okay so i've seen some masterposts for medieval games but never for a regency game, and there's A LOT of regency cc out there, we always get asked on the historical sims discord (that you should join us here!) where to get started when building your folder from scratch. and it'll also be helpful for when i decide to do a rebuild of my downloads folder since my game is crashing already lol. if you're interested on this type of lists, let me know and i'll do more detailed ones :)
the plumbbob keep aka medievalsims.com: the home of sun & moon and all historical cc related. there's a bunch of things in here, i recommend making an account and just take a look at each topic and forum you possibly can, also the search option is quite handy for when you're looking for an specific era, like the regency.
simbury / cupcakeyy: the queen of the sims regency, for real. she has made sooo many cc for this era that you can find on her tumblr, livejournal, gos, even on pbk! she also has a cc finds tumblr that's a great place to start.
maya40: another queen. she often collaborates with cupcakeyy, they have an awesome bonnet collab that's an absolute must have for any regency game.
sun & moon: i know i've mentioned them already, but they deserve their own section. maaany amazing mods they made, i have literally all of them, except for anything too medieval or fantastic (and even then i've made some exceptions). there are things like laundry, butter churning, better farming, livestock, candle crafting, TEA. everything is functional and very detailed. you can't really play a historical game without their stuff.
dicreasy: her stuff is a bit late for this time period, but due to the lack of many cc creators that focus on the regency, we have to get creative and include victorian stuff. thankfully, di has a lot of gorgeous stuff that works very nice for any 19th century english inspired game. if you love food defaults, or defaults in general like me, you should check out hers.
hat-plays-sims: speaking of defaults, we cannot forget the almighty hat. she has defaulted like every single thing your sims will use for something textured more rustic or medieval-like. also, HER HAIR DUMPS! if you are a fan of pookleted hairs, that also fit a historical game, hat is your go-to.
ladyaqua's regency era pinterest board: pinterest boards are your best friends when you're building an historical folder, watch out for dead links tho. but still, veryyyy helpful.
yandereplumsims: another amazing clothing creator, she has so many good stuff that i also have like all of her stuff.
heget's 18th century clothing dump: this is quite early for us, but we're still using it. specially the men attire that we lack in every era. the lower classes wouldn't be up to date with the fashion and would still wear clothes from the past century. the dresses are a bit of a stretch though, and they still look a bit too fancy even for lower class to wear. luckily, the other creators i've mentioned have lower class women covered :)
changeling / feydecay-blog: another great 19th century cc creator, has recently released some painting defaults that are *chefs kiss*
delonariel: more maxis-match, but has some historical deco clutter, conversions, even some lovely rustic defaults.

Delonariel’s 4t2 Cottage Living Old King Cool Fridge Unbundled
I really love this S4 fridge that Delonariel converted! It’s wonderful, but it only came as part of a bundled package that included another fridge, a stove, and a stove hood, along with all the recolors for those 4 meshes.
I love all of those meshes, BUT
Because I try to limit my games to those meshes and recolors I’m going to actually use in the game, bundled files do not work for me. Delonariel has a great open policy, so I stripped this mesh out of the bundle.
I thought there might be others who also might like to have this mesh separated. I have re-named, quarter-tiled, edited the TXMT to be less shiny and made the recolors as separate files. Oh, and children can get bottles for toddlers!

WCIF/Does Anybody Have...
So inevitably trying to put my game back together on a new machine has been...trying. Who woulda thought, right? Ugh.
There’s some things that I’m missing, and I’ve been keeping a running list of them as they become apparent. I figure if I post that list here, someone might be able to help. I haven’t got pics for everything, but those that I do have, I’ve added.
Buggybooz’ original PlummyPlum and Stone Sandwich KitchenBasic counter recolors, potentially one or two more. Whatever wasn’t included with their up-to-date files from Buggy’s Retreat. Found on Shasta’s Tumblr.

Someone (???) once upon a time made a modded growable marijuana crop complete with custom garden plot and accessories for use. I can’t be any less vague, sorry. I had thought that iCad answered an ask regarding said thing a while ago but I looked through her entire blog and couldn’t find it. I’ve also tried SimsCave and the Booty, but I can’t remember who made it so I’m not having any luck.
Found! They’re by PandoraSims. The more complete version is maryjane2.zip, about 2/3 of the way down the page. Many thanks to @pixeldolly for prodding me to revisit the Booty when I’m not mostly asleep.

The Scriptorium .txt files for Spaik’s Erica modular stairs, specifically the black and the white, as those are the only ones I use. Neither the T$R download or the files at the Booty come with them, and the installation instructions at T$R that had the text that one could copy and paste into their own files no longer exists. Boo. I made them myself following AlmightyHat’s Instructions. They are half-assed but functional (Not Hat’s fault BTW,) so if anyone wants them - here.
***UPDATE 02.24.23*** The data from my laptop has been recovered, so I now have the originals again. I replaced my not-very-well-done files with the correctly written ones that I originally had, and have also replaced the RAR at the link above.

The following stuff that I think/swear is by Shasta but I’ll be damned if I can find any trace of these things online anywhere:
Recolors of the Seasons shower curtain in three colors (red, turquoise, and either a grey or maybe a lime) with white polka dots. 99.9% sure these were not by DeeDee. Found on Sims2Artists.
Recolors of the Base Game nursery stuff (maybe just the crib bedding?) using fabric patterns from Blend (RIP.) Part or all of the set was circus-themed. Shasta kindly pointed me to them on GoS.
Recolors of a Maxis rug - either Isotopia from Freetime or the rectangular Oriental rug from Nightlife - that are like, several two-toned monochrome recolors of an art deco design, the same but with a stylized rose design, and maybe one more design? Not actually by Shasta, actually by delonariel/tethys. With the help of some lovely folks in the comments, I was able to find them here at GoS.

The (original?) recolors for Pocci’s Kitchen Deco:
Each piece has two recolors that coordinate with the others, i.e. the kettle also has a red and a green recolor, plus all three have I think a pink and an orange recolor in the same leaf pattern. I have the meshes, and I thought the recolors came with them - at least, that’s how I got them on my laptop - but that was years ago on BPS so not now I guess? If the creator of the recolors wasn’t Pocci, I can’t remember who it was and Google Isn’t helping. As it turns out, the recolors I was thinking of were by SpaceDoll, and amethystfenix had these, too.

Some recolors of Echo’s Real Rug by someone who I cannot remember. They were designs by actual designers like Bluebell Gray, and I’m afraid I can’t be more specific. I can’t find them with Google, I can’t find them on anyone’s Pinterest, I can’t find any reblogs of them. They were from quite a few years ago.

Still have no idea who made these, but whoever you are, I want you to know that they are some of my absolute favorites and I hope you don’t mind me reuploading them for the community here. I included (my lightly edited versions of) Echo’s meshes for convenience, RealRug2x3 is the repositoried file.

Some recolors of Veranka’s 3t2 Back to Retro Refrigerator done in modern, mostly geometric graphics, also some fruit. Again, I can’t really be more helpful than that. Here at GoS.

Nabila’s recolors (maybe just one recolor? I think there were more than that though) of Adele’s Persianesque Jars. Well, it’s just one jar since the other is repositoried.
***UPDATE 02.24.23*** Guess what else I found. Turns out there are five recolors, I don’t know if they’re all by Nabila but I think so, and I’ve reuploaded them here. The edited meshes are included, PersianesqueUrn02 is the repositoried one. I did not include Adele’s original recolors, hence why the file names start at Recolor03. If you download these, you should probably rename them to fit with your other files.

Some icicle-type string lights - the kind that are multiple vertical strands of lights hanging from a main horizontal wire - that were definitely not by Honeywell or ATS. There are two different sets I’m looking for: the first one is alternating short and long zigzag strands on straight horizontal wire. The wire came in green and black, pretty sure the lights just came in white/clear, although that might just be the only color I kept. The second set was more delicate-looking, smaller lights on thinner wire, the horizontal wire part is curved/concave on these. Not sure if they came with any recolors.
***UPDATE 02.24.23*** The first set on the straight wire is by someone who labels their creations “tig,” which led me to poke around MTS a bit but to no avail. The second set is by DOT from T$R and can be found in their section in the Booty as icelighting.zip, but I’ve included both sets in the same RAR here. They are edited just like everything else I’ve reuploaded.

At one point someone made a set of concrete walls and floor in two patterns - “streaky” and “mottled” - with...ten to twelve eight shades of grey each. This one is frustrating bc I’ve been rather specific with Google and it feels like it knows exactly the thing I’m talking about but won’t show them to me on purpose.

I found it all, and then some. Many thanks to the wonderful community members who helped me put my game back together, I am forever grateful. Thanks also to The Computer Store (yes, really) in Columbus, Ohio, for not just recovering my data but actually bringing the whole machine back to life.
