Reading BlueCatWriter's Dracula along with Dracula Daily

Ok so I've been meaning to read all of @bluecatwriter 's wonderful Dracula hc fics in order for a long time but I never have time to get with it so I decided to read it along with Dracula Daily this year.

If anyone else wants to do the same, here are the dates (or aproximante dates*) for each fic. (idk if someone has done this already but oh well) (BlueCat if you read this feel free to correct me if i got any date wrong)

*(Since there's 2 pre-canon fics and 2 days of may before dd, i'm setting those fics on those dates. Dates of undated fics are also adjusted to not overlap with date of other fics)

*(The order during the varna stay is a bit wacky since the book gets pretty vague for 2 weeks there but I tried to adjust it as well as possible.)

I’m calling this meta The Big Politics Meta, for the Big Politics Month of October, 2022. Initially, I’d like to talk a little about how I feel about the quietness of Gg’s birthday, but one topic linked to another, one topic couldn’t be explained without another, and it expanded to this thing I’m posting today.

This meta covers politics — specifically, the politics surrounding Gg and Dd, how it’s connected to some of the less happy events we’ve known about; the politics that, for understandable reasons, is often omitted in the flow of information from c-fandom but is nonetheless, I believe, important for fans to know. Not because it’s gossip material — much of the material in this meta comes from sources outside entertainment — but precisely because it’s connected to issues that are greater, more consequential than fandom itself.

(Below the cut — content notes and warnings)

This meta will use the term “Gg fans” a lot, and the term will mean all Gg fans, regardless of whether they’re solos or CPFs. This meta will also dive, head-on, into 2/27, especially in Part 2. Again, the focus isn’t what happened within fandom during the incident — that is all in the past now — but how the incident has been read in the wider political context, and how the incident’s political legacy may be continuing today, explaining what we are seeing today.

And the reason I’m piecing together and sharing this info is because I think, as fans, there may be things we can do about it.

As such, the content of this meta is a bit heavy, and may not be the easiest to read. It isn’t sad—at least, I don’t think it’s sad—it’s just ... devoid of fantasy, and reality in China is often heavy, often hard.

I wish everyone a happy New Year and happy holidays!

Unfortunately, like last year, I didn't have the exact template with my drawings this year either, so I'll post through this. Unlike 2021, during 2022 I improved my drawing methods a bit, and also opened a new blog where I mostly post my drawings and you can see them here: https://www.tumblr.com/ducktoonsfanart

Yes, I mostly drew related to Donald Duck and the Duckverse, but especially in November I also drew other franchises, mostly from Looney Tunes and Tiny Toons. Yes, this year I managed in all 12 months to draw at least one drawing in one month. Yes, there were ups and downs for me, but overall, the results were solid. Yes, although I mostly draw Quack Pack, I've certainly drawn related to Donald Duck comics, Darkwing Duck and the Three Caballeros. I hope to focus more on not only the Donald Duck franchise this year, but the others as well. I'm hoping to get over 100 followers on my side blog and hit 500 followers on this one.
