[And Monster Girl Summer is officially a Go! Part of my goal with Monster Girl Summer is to reflect on the games I’ve run in the past. And to sort of mentally catalog how many of the PCs started out monstrous, or became monstrous over the course of play. Like Dalya here. Dalya was originally a human, but ended up reincarnated as a gnoll. And was in the half of the party that survived their fight with Karzoug, as opposed to being wiped out in round 1. Time stop + reverse gravity + prismatic sphere, don’tcha know.

I ran Rise of the Runelords in 3.5. Dalya was originally built using the battle dancer class from Dragon Compendium. So making her a brawler was a easy choice for the conversion.]

Dalya CR 18 CG Humanoid (gnoll) This tall, lean hyena headed woman has her hair done up in a dyed fringe, and tattoos are visible beneath her fur. She wears leather armor and carries a buckler and spear.

Born to an exiled Shoanti father and a Varisian merchant mother, Dalya was used to living on the road. But she didn’t expect it to turn out the way it did. Visiting the Swallowtail Festival in Sandpoint, she was caught up in a goblin raid, which rapidly turned into investigating the growing power of the Sihedron cult and, eventually, opposing the forces of Karzoug. Underneath Thistletop, Dalya was slain by the barghest Malfeshnekor, but her allies were able to fight the beast back long enough to recover her body. Possibly as a side effect of being slain by one of Lamashtu’s chosen, Dalya was returned to life as a gnoll when brought back through a reincarnate spell. And Dalya couldn’t have been happier with her new body.

Dalya’s adventures continued from there, and she proudly brags that she’s never lost a fist fight with a giant. She was instrumental to killing Karzoug and preventing Varisia from being overrun by an army of lamiae and other monsters. But Dalya is not one to rest on her laurels, and she is in no way retired. Her current mission is to help a few packs of non-evil gnolls to settle in the Storval Plateau without causing too much conflict with the Shoanti quahs living there already. Her allies in this mission include a quartet of advanced crocuttals and Krojun Eats-What-He-Kills, a powerful warrior of the Sun Clan, himself reincarnated into a monstrous form (a bugbear) following a fatality in combat.

In addition, she can attempt a Perform (dance) check instead of a Bluff check to feint in combat, and her unarmed strikes are considered to have the performance weapon special quality. Dancing Dodge (Ex) When an opponent attempts a melee attack against Dalya, she can expend one use of an attack of opportunity as an immediate action to move 5 feet, granting the battle dancer a +3 dodge bonus to AC against the triggering attack. The attack is still resolved normally, even if the battle dancer’s movement takes her out of the triggering attack’s reach. This movement is not a 5-foot step and provokes attacks of opportunity from creatures other than the one that triggered this ability, though the battle dancer can attempt an Acrobatics check to avoid provoking the attacks. Dalya can use this ability nine times per day. She can use this ability only while wearing light armor or no armor, and while carrying no heavier than a light load. Hopeful (Ex) Packmaster gnolls gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against fear effects and emotion effects such as despair, grief or boredom. They do not gain this bonus against rage effects, or other types of emotion effects, such as an unnatural lust or overwhelming presence spell (GM’s discretion). Legendary Dalya’s statistics are built using 25 point buy, and she has the gear of an 18th level PC. This increases her CR by +1. Reincarnated (Ex) Dalya was born human, but transformed into a gnoll due to a reincarnate spell. She has the bonus feat of a human, and bonus skill ranks for levels 1-4. She does not have the racial Hit Dice, or mental ability bonuses, of a gnoll. Rolling Flurry (Ex) When a battle dancer uses her brawler’s flurry, she must move 5 feet before each melee attack or combat maneuver. If she is unable to move 5 feet, she can’t attempt any further attacks or combat maneuvers. She can’t exceed her maximum speed. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity if the brawler would be able to take a 5-foot step normally; if she would be unable to (for instance, if she were in difficult terrain), the movement provokes attacks of opportunity as normal unless she succeeds at the appropriate Acrobatics checks. While using this ability, she can still take her normal 5-foot step before or after making her attacks. Sparring Partners (Ex) When Dalya gains a flanking bonus on an attack while using her rolling flurry ability, the ally providing the flank gains a flanking bonus on its next attack against that opponent, even if the battle dancer moves out of a flanking position. If either the opponent or the ally moves more than 5 feet before the ally’s attack, the flanking bonus is lost. This ability works only if the ally is on the opposite side of an opponent during the battle dancer’s attack, not if a flanking bonus is gained in some other way, such as through Gang Up. Dalya can use this ability three times per day.

Mimameid, who is a primal beast connected to Yggdrasil and only awoke recently and is wandering aimlessly trying to find a purpose again. They eventually find themself at Raphael's farm and is taken in and now helps him there.

They're usually quiet and withdrawn, but slowly start to liven up after they start living with Raphael and experiencing the current world

they also get passed around like a hot potato between all the primarchs and mima is now their new little uwu

Dalya, who is an Erune who has been living for an immensely long time due to a sentient parasitic plant using their body as a host. Though it intended to take over, Dalya's will proved to be too much and it is now the buried consciousness while Dalya remained in control. They no longer age or heal like a mortal anymore. Instead the plant has overtaken the body's organs and they now gain their energy from the sun, while when injured they do not bleed and the plant will seal off any openings and will begin regrowing whatever was injured or lost. While they are regrowing, it will look like plants and flowers are growing on them until they eventually peel back and reveal a newly grown part to replace the old one

They're now chaotic and self serving as all hell, rarely ever acting on behalf of others unless they can benefit from it as well, and they aren't shy about putting themself and others in danger of it can get them a desired result.

also they can unfortunately vibe with lobelia, which worries everyone, and they've caught seofons attention bc they essentially can't die and have shown that they can use their parasitic partner's powers to their advantage in a way that could end up putting many in danger depending on how they use it

Kadehi bırakmak istiyorum elimden ama kayıp düşüyor beton zemine. Un ufak oluyor kadeh, kıpkırmızı oluyor bir anda bütün avlu. Üzerinde masmavi bir elbise var. O kadar zıt ama bir o kadar da güzel duruyor ki o kıpkırmızı avluda. 

Bir anda buluveriyoruz kendimizi toprakta. Ektiğimiz her çiçek başka bir çiçeği fışkırtıyor topraktan. Rüya bu ya; aşk diye fışkırıyor güller, sevda diye haykırıyor laleler.

Using my pain for good changed everything.

Give Keisha Castle-Hughes all the awards! She as absolutely incredible in this standout episode for Hana. The mention of Jess brought tears to my eyes. This will be an episode that people remember for a long time. 

Thinking about my GBF SI's motive for traveling across the islands and I decided on their current one

It's because one time they slipped off the edge of a cliff and instead of just falling and hitting the ground below, they swore they felt a gentle breeze that left them feeling completely at peace and blacked out. They woke up on a soft patch of grass on the ground without any injuries, and they're sure it was from the breeze and feeling they had, so they've been searching for the source of it ever since

They also write down stories of people they meet and like as their own way of keeping history alive as time passes

Someday, someday, I’ll find the perfect faceclaim for Dink. 

No one I can find is quite the way I picture her. She’s just got this really specific look in my head that no real life pictures seem to have. The heart shaped face, big cheek smile, the cleft chin, the wavy auburn hair, 4′1″ in 1″ heels, and looks like she is in charge. Just, no one matches right for me.

Having said that, I feel like I have found a new closest to what I’m looking for.

... I think it is her smile. Especially here in this last bottom shot, that’s close to the smile I envison. And she’s got several shots of looking in charge.

And that real power pose in the middle with the cocked eyebrow, I can see her giving the Knights that look a LOT once they’re actual friends and not just in a business relationship. Like, you really expect me to just go along with this; I see. I expect that look haunts James in his dreams. I’d say whenever he messes up but he is a mess up so it’s probably every night. 

The thing that upsets me most about Dink is that she really isn’t much in the start of Knights of Day. I shoehorned her into The Hidden and the Maiden because she is SO important later on that not having her in the first book felt wrong. Unfortunately it is going to be the same thing in book 2 :/ She’s just peripheral until she gets sucked into the shenanigans and sees things “man was not meant to know.” 

She’s the same problem as if you were writing a political thriller set in Chicago in 1993, you know President Obama is there but he isn’t a politician yet, so do you include him, knowing that a later book is set in 2009. 

I hope I never ever forget the 12 year old boy who didn't shed a tear when he picked up a pile flesh from the floor on Motaz's story. And how Motaz had to see it first.

There is no justification for any of this and I will never ever forget that.

There is nothing on earth that will ever justify anything that is happening to them or that we have to see it or how we have to teach our kids about another grown up failure and nothing will justify standing on its sidelines. Nothing justifies it now.
