the orange-throated sunangel is a member of the hummingbird family found solely in venezuela and colombia. known for their bright orange throat (which is more reddish-brown in females), this sunangel is a sedentary species often found in tropical or subtropical forest. like other hummingbirds, they primarily feed on nectar, but they will also feed on small insects and arthropods.

Happy pollinator week to a type of dinosaur that has a sword strapped to its face: the hummingbird.

Ace pride hummingbird! I had a lot of fun with this one. I was primarily inspired by the violet sabrewing and marvelous spatuletail, both of which are very real and very cool birds native to Central America and Peru, respectively. Look them up if you haven’t heard of them, you won’t be disappointed. :)
