4 – Linnea
Some confusing cropping tanks what looks like a solid shot. Sure, it does look somewhat like Linnea just felt asleep. But she looked incredible when she was asleep. The parts of her body that we do see are incredible, the way she has laid on the chair has given her a beauty curve in her back, and the positioning of the legs feels natural. She looks a bit short right now, but again I think that can be blamed on how the shot has been cropped, rather than anything else. Not really sure what Linnea could’ve done better herself, this was all down to the photographer.

Aleyna kinda looks like Jessica Kobeissi (a YouTuber who reacts to ANTM shoots/panels) in her fire runway photo.
I can definitely see that comparison now you've pointed it out. Definitely worst people to be compared to. I've always thought about watching her ANTM videos, I've watched a few of the runway ones as I always love to see people react to the hot messes that are ANTM runways, but is it worth watching the others?

You forgot about Adam from c21 in your asian ranking.
Oh, woops. Knew the list was probably not completely accurate. I'd probably put Adam fairly low, maybe between Justine and Claire. I don't think his look was ever that suitable for male modelling, given his height, and he had the entire season to produce photos and managed to give a handful of good shots. I think most of the models above him managed to do better with a fraction of the number of photoshoots.

5 – Aleyna
It was clear by this point Aleyna was going to sail to the end, but I think it would’ve been nice to add a bottom 2 bump to her road here. I just feel a bit puzzled about the direction of the shot. It has an almost dancer-like quality, that I just don’t think works for swimwear; the daintily pointed toe, the extended arm, the almost pirouette pose. Her body looks good in the swimwear, I just think the pose distracts from it rather than enhances it. I do like the coy way she is fiddling with the hat, bringing it down over her face. It was a very natural way to nail the faceless aspect. It’s definitely not a bad shot, but it is still Aleyna’s first, and probably only, trek outside my top 4.

6 – Belinda
Belinda’s elimination was probably a week overdue, but at least she went with a solid photograph. After a poor shoot last week, I was a huge fan of the end results of this one. Belinda’s shot is definitely the clumsiest execution of the brief, the only one where the face feels awkwardly hid, but I still think Belinda’s body looks great. That curve in the side really helps sell the swimwear. The arms are a bit awkward, I get what she was going, but her left arm feels like it is hovering at an awkward angle. Drop that down parallel to the shot, and I think it feels more natural, and helps the shot’s dramatic flair.

1 – Linnea
My apathy towards this shoot has been made clear by now, but I do think Linnea’s shot is actually a good photograph. It isn’t perfect, and still in the grand scheme of this cycle isn’t amazing, but it is the only one to come close to feeling complete. The body language is superb, she is surrounded by flames but there is such a calm. The outfit looks killer on her, and it feels like a proper high fashion shot, unlike the rest that all had a certain cheap vibe to them. Surprisingly for the second week in a row, it is Linnea’s face that is the weakest point. The expression here is good, that haughty “you wish you were me” vibe done perfectly, especially with the slight leaned back posture and tilted up head. What kills me is how round her face has photographed, and those open wide lips, that almost look swollen. It stops the shot from being perfect. Still, leagues ahead of the best, both in terms of modelling and the actual execution of the shot (like seriously, why does the fire look so much better done in this shot than any of the others).

2 – Vitoria
Vitoria was easily the most robbed girl of the cycle for me. Like with Aleyna, this is probably her weakest shot so far though, but it was a poor week all around. Vitoria does have my favourite beauty shot of the week, it is that under-rated fire in those smouldering eyes that I really feel worked better this week, and those cheek bones are to die for. The body on the otherhand is fine, basic, but not fully done right. There is a lot of strain in that arm, and her hand has been covered by the bow. It isn’t a flawless shot, but still an absolute robbery to the highest margin for me.

3 – Aleyna
Aleyna gets this high by virtue of others underperforming, it is the weakest she has looked. The simplicity of the body is nice, she looks long, and the stance is simple but powerful. She has made the clothes shine. There is just a lot of tension around the neck and shoulders, that makes the photo feel strained. Her head has been tilted down too far, and with the glare of the eyes the shot borders of feeling over-done. I think it would’ve been better if she raised her head slightly, and gave a more almost over-it look, similar to what the clear winner of this week has done. Still, her face has photographed beautifully again though, even if the expression feels off to me.

Can you rank the top 10 best and worst photoshoots in ANTM?
I did do a top 10 list of the best photoshoots from Cycles 1 to 10 on my old blog, so that goes into more details about why I love some of these. But off the top of my head, my current top10ish would be:
10 - Cycle 11′s Simplistic vs. Dramatic Shoot - Having two separate shoots that showed the different styles of modelling was brilliant, really showed who could adapt to either situation, versus who was a bit more niche and relying on the same things. Gorgeous shots from both sides too, all time greats.
9 - Cycle 2′s Nude Shoot - This is probably the most artistic shoot ANTM has ever done in my opinion, and definitely the strongest nude shoot, though Cycle 14′s Custo Barcelona shoot gave it a run for its money. I get chills when looking at both the shots, and really just wish we had more to come out of this shoot. Cycle 2 really upped the game with the shoots, the sunglasses shoot just missed out on the list, and a few others would rank fairly highly if I did a full ranking of all shoots.
8 - Cycle 9′s Great Wall Shoot - One of the best international destination shoots in terms of incorporation the country, loved the scenery, and all the shots felt like pieces of art that I’d hang on my walls. Also, again really liked having two separate parts. The more shoots the better, which will be a recurring theme on this list.also, Cycle 9 really managed to recover a bit after Cycle 8′s general messiness, and both the rock climbing and gargoyle shoots deserve an honourable mention, and I really think it is up there with Cycle 16 for the most consistently brilliant concepts.
7 - Cycle 13′s Fabric Beauty Shoot - Cycle 13 had a lot of great shoots, as did Tyra during her time on the show, but I think this was one of her best. Love the variety of the set-ups, all besides maybe one felt poised to get flawless photos. One of the best beauty shots of the show, and I tried to avoid putting too many beauty shots on this list, as I do find myself tending to prefer them.
6 - Cycle 8′s Swimwear Shoot - Love the dual aspect just like with the Cycle 11 shoot, some all time great photos. Felt like it was actually teaching the models something about modelling, and felt realistic. Cycle 8 was a pretty mediocre season in terms of the shoots, but this was a real high point.
5 - Cycle 1′s Snakes Shoot - 23 cycles later and this still holds up, simple idea executed flawlessly. Half of the shots remain absolutely knock-outs, and even those that weren’t as good were still solid shoots. Only shoot from that cycle that really holds up now.
4 - Cycle 15′s Rodeo Drive Spread - Love that this shoot had different components and was really early, felt like it gave them a full idea of a photoshoot, rather than just one aspect. One of the few shoots this cycle that didn’t have a cheesy edge to it as well, which for the high fashion cycle was annoying. Produced some incredible shots.
3 - Cycle 16's Camel Shoot - The Marrakech lovers shoot could be another contender for this list to be honest. Morocco was one of the best international destinations in terms of the aesthetics of the shoots, and the Camels was the peak of that.
2 - Cycle 21's MGM Bags Shoot/Cycle 19's Nine West Shoot- Another tie, I feel both feel like perfect campaigns. So many incredible shots from each shoot, the styling was gorgeous, the settings were incredible. Both feel like just different aesthetics, but with all the same successes. Two of the best late-ANTM shoots, which stand out especially as ANTM really delved into caricature territory at this point in a lot of their shoots. They were breaths of fresh air.
1 - Cycle 3's Nivea Campaign/Cycle 23's Comp Cards - I've put these joint top as I feel like despite being 20 Cycles apart, I love these for the same reason. They are entirely simple and basic, and put all the potential for the shot on the model. I think every cycle should have a similarly minimalistic shoot early on to allow the model to just show them what they've got. Even better if they take inspiration from AsNTM and allow the contestants the choose their own shots, to prevent any riggory from occurring.
As for the worst shoots, I will say I noticed that the worst ones came from the oldest cycles (1-8) and then the later ones too (17-24), with none of the middle group making the list. My bottom 10 right now (ignoring the blackface ones because screw those ones) are:
10 - Cycle 1′s Stuff Magazine Shoot - I can forgive a lot of Cycle 1′s shoots since it was the first, but this was so cheap. And the fact the shots they used on the show weren’t the ones they used for the magazine was just ridiculous. Shameful shoot even now.
9 - Cycle 24′s Paper Magazine Mock Covers - Just really hated the styling choices here, and I was generally never a fan of Cycle 24′s photography style. The shots received like no editing, and just seemed bare. The only shoot that came close to feeling complete was the parachute one, and that only had one good shot.
8 - Cycle 3′s T-Mobile Campaign - Such a cheap use of Japan, gorgeous culture that felt done in such a basic way. Same goes for the other two shoots over there, but this was the worst for me.
7 - Cycle 20′s Alternative Wedding shoot - Too much variety, some set-ups felt like it was impossible to do well, others were set-up to succeed. Also, the whole moving photo part of that cycle’s shoots was ridiculous. And a dishonourable mention to their commercial, I chose not to include commercials as ANTM has a horrible track record for them, but Cycle 20′s was the worst.
6 - Cycle 18′s Toddler Shoot - The styling was almost okay, but then the whole toddler thing was weird, and the Jenners and Kris being featured...like no, it was a mess.
5 - Cycle 17′s All-Star Personality Shoot and Hot Dog Shoot - Both were bad and the worst Cycle 17 had to offer. One felt cheap and was imbalanced in the briefs, the other threw gorgeous dressed with hot dogs and made them pose according to terms like “free” and “unexpected”.
4 - Cycle 7′s Indoor Skydiving Shoot - Just a horrible idea for a shoot in general, and then add on terrible editing to the shots, and a robbery of a model who I was rather fond of. Not a good combination.
3 - Cycle 23′s Celebrity Impersonation - This just represents all celebrity impersonation shots generally, all suck, the only one I would maybe say was good was Elvis/Marilyn, as everyone was given one brief and it felt like it could be a realistic spread. Every other time it has just been cheap.
2 - Cycle 8′s ANTM Moments Shoot - The photo booth style shoot is probably the more expected choice for worst shoot from Cycle 8, but I do think there is something to the simplistic nature of interpreting emotions, but it was done horrible and sucked. The ANTM Moments shoot though I think goes underrated as an awful shoot, it was cheap and cheesy, self-aggrandizing and also somehow really forgettable. Has no redeeming features.
1 - Cycle 5′s Treadmill Shoot - Cycle 5 really sucked for photoshoots. The superhero shoot and the Wild Boyz shoot made my shortlist too, but the treadmill one has to be the easy winner. The styling was horrendous, the concept was stupid, Miss Jay was camp but ridiculous, and it managed to produce a contender for the worst shot ever in ANTM history.

4 – Daisy
This is definitely Daisy’s strongest shot so far, but she was so past overdue now that this is not enough for me not to still cut her this week. Losing Christy and, especially, Vitoria over her was criminal. Daisy’s body looks absolutely incredible, tall with that curved back. I would have cheated it towards the camera slightly, as the full profile is probably not ideal, but it is still killer. The way the arms are raised is interesting too, but again I found myself drawn to the simple shots this week, feels slightly too much. It is when I get to the face that I find myself frustrated again, as her mouth is stopping this from being brilliant. It isn’t as severe as the other times, but the snarl is still there. If the mouth wasn’t an issue, this expression would be great, and it would be a really strong all-around shot. Still absolutely hate the hair styling though, but can’t fault Daisy for that.

5 – Sabine
This photo is almost there, but Sabine’s greatest asset is letting her down. The pose is refreshing, simple but striking, and showcases the dress and its features (it has pockets!) well, but this is a really bad angle for her face. The expression actually has potential, that over-it contrast that I liked in Christy’s shot is present here too, but her features are round, almost swollen looking. Add in the slack jaw and open mouth, and it distracts from the shot. Sabine needed to tighten that jaw, and tilt her head slightly more to profile to allow us to see her gorgeous jawline a bit more.

6 – Christy
The body language here is alright, pretty simple, but she has managed to remain relaxed surrounded by the fire. I tended to be a fan of those contrasting shots, with the manic surroundings and calm, almost tool cool, poses. It was a nice contrast. The face is really week though, with the dark make-up Christy looks far older than she is and quite sickly. The angle also has made her face overly round. The expression is intense, but with the other factors that doesn’t work here. Not a great beauty shot. Christy had been on such a steady decline after her stunning week one shot, and I get eliminating her now. Still don’t think I’d have cut her, but it is hardly the biggest robbery.

Would you have eliminated Belinda if her mountain photo was in the same level of (flukey) fierceness as Dajana's mirror photo from c8?
Hm, good question. Maybe not, especially considering Daisy was still around with a horrible portfolio and Christy with a declining one. Add in Kassidy with her weaker shot, and if Belinda had a Credle Mountain shot at the same level of Kassidy's, then suddenly those two would have fairly similar portfolios for me. Belinda hadn't reached full cockroach mode until after she survived this week for me, so if she had 2 great shots, my choices probably would've been Daisy and Kassidy, or Christy, this week and not her.

Belinda's situation was pretty shitty but nobody will ever out-unfair Eboni from cycle 2. Belinda missed a shoot but Eboni missed a whole fucking week and received a nice pass to the next week, while everybody else throughout that week was in jeopardy of going home. Madness.
Definitely, Eboni dropping out and then being brought back was frustrating. I understand it must suck from Eboni's perspective, but the show should've done what others do and just offer them a chance to come back for the next Cycle. Much fairer to the other girls. And then I seem to remember Eboni getting treated softly for the rest of the cycle, so judged differently from the rest. I remember being really frustrated at the end of that cycle, and then Simone being robbed before the finale didn't help. Thought I'd at least have my favourite making the end. Really want to see if I can get good quality photos from that cycle, would have a lot to say if I did.

Can you rank the Asian models in ANTM?
Okay, so my ranking of the Asian ANTM models would be:
13th - Julie Titus - Honestly, all of the Asian models on ANTM have had some positives for me so I'm surprised to be ranking Julie last, but her look probs had the least potential.
12th - Justine Biticon - More obvious potential, still sad she was first out, done a bit nasty on Cycle 23 to be honest, like most Asian contestant it seems.
11th - Claire Unabia - Strong look, but her portfolio was generally quite mediocre for me. Always looked a bit older than she was.
10th - Sara Racey-Tabrizi - Big jump up, had some solid photographs, but never fully wowed me.
9th - Jenascia Chakos - Close with Sara, but honestly Jenascia has more memorable shots for me, so giving her one spot up. Very close though.
8th - Gina Choe - One of the strongest looks for an Asian model which is what gets her this high, but so little confidence and her best shots seemed to be lucked into. Still love her Swarovski shot though.
7th - Sheena Sakai - If this was a personality ranking, obvious number 1. Sheena was still a really solid model on the show though, but her portfolio was again quite middling a lot of the time. Never felt she fully lived up to her potential.
6th - Anchal Joseph - My favourite look ever on this show, if she had more confidence I'd have her higher, but that held her back. So many stunning photographs, and deserved so much better on her cycle. A running theme with Asian contestants.
5th - Justin Kim - Another person robbed right before the trip section of the show, Justin is a contender for the best male model we saw on the show. Love his look, he should've easily made top 4.
4th - Jennifer An - Jennifer probably the only person in the top 6 who got mostly her fair dues on the show. She got rightful praise for several great shots (her underwater remains one of my all time favourites), for pushing the boundaries, and while I think there is a case for her to be the runner-up of Cycle 13, I think final 4 was still fair.
3rd - Shei Phan - This girl was paid dust on Cycle 21, criminally underrated, and relegated to being the catwalk model, which she did absolutely demolish. Stunning photographs, great body and face, just all around brilliant model. Easy top 2 in her cycle with Lenox.
2nd - Jeana Turner - ANTM should've finished with Jeana becoming the first Asian to win, such a brilliant model. Her look was fascinating, and her portfolio the most diverse of the season. The show villainizing her instead was disgusting.
1st - April Wilkner - No doubt, Cycle 2 had the first Asian contestants, but they hit a home run with April. Stunning girl, incredible portfolio, everything you could've asked for. Deserved to be the first Asian winner of ANTM.
So the big thing to conclude from this ranking is that the show did Asian models completely dirty both in terms of their treatment of them and their casting of them. Can't believe there was only 13 across 24 cycles, including a stretch from 14-20 where none were cast. Ridiculous.

7 – Belinda
Now would’ve been the time for Belinda to fairly go. Every week up until this point I could understand keeping her, but her surviving the double was questionable. It feels lackluster, and it is another photo where Belinda does the bare minimum yet survives. Hand on hip, no effort, half-hearted expression. It was a running theme for her. If she had learned how to give her all to shoots, this could have been elevated so much. Her features have photographed really well here, so with that little bit more oomph, it could have been a shot that justified her staying.
