For my dad's birthday, we binge-watched the Fallout series. We were going to just watch the first ep and see if we wanted to see the entire thing annnnnd apparently we did, lol!
I have a lot of feelings but to sum it up, I think they did a fantastic job making everything understandable to somebody who wasn't familiar with the game. Also, I think they tackled a lot of serious real world issues in fictional ways that were very thought-provoking.
Also, I do own Fallout 4 from a Steam sale a while back, so this has made me want to bump it up in the line to play. I believe you can have the pupper as a companion? 😎👍
If you watched, what did you think? Who were your favs? If you know me, then you know I've just shown you 3 of them here in these 2 GIFs, lol.
I thought Lucy got a fantastic arc, I loved that she started off naive but not done stupidly so. Her circumstances simply meant there was a lot that she didn't know but she was quick to adapt while still trying to keep her core values, her core self, intact.
The Ghoul is a cruel character that was unveiled beautifully, IMO, so that by the end you can see how he got that way, how he lost almost all of his humanity and not just in the obvious ways, but how you also could see the tiny shreds that still remained. If you didn't already think that Walton Goggins is an amazing actor and if this doesn't convince you, then nothing will.
CX404, sweet pupper! And shout-out to unexpected!Michael Emerson who I didn't realize was going to be in this show and so was a really great treat to see (for the most part, if you've seen the show, then you know 😉).
Anyway, I really enjoyed it and am so glad to hear they're getting a second season! 💖💖💖

You asked me to teach you chess, and I've done that. It's a useful mental exercise. Through the years, many thinkers have been fascinated by it. But I don't enjoy playing. Do you know why not?
Because it was a game that was born during a brutal age when life counted for little and everyone believed that some people were worth more than others. Kings and pawns.
I don't think that anyone is worth more than anyone else. I don't envy you the decisions you're going to have to make. And one day I'll be gone, and you'll have no one to talk to. But if you remember nothing else, please remember this:
Chess is just a game. Real people aren't pieces. You can't assign more value to some of them than to others. Not to me. Not to anyone. People are not a thing that you can sacrifice.
The lesson is: Anyone who looks on the world as if it were a game of chess deserves to lose.
