I'm gonna be real honest with you, when I started Sumeru, I did not really expect to find myself writing and being deeply invested in the Wanderer+Kaveh friendship.

Kaveh: He's pretty okay as long as you ignore literally every single thing that comes out of his mouth.

Wanderer: I'm going to hunt you for sport.

Kaveh: Exactly! Anyway, I bought you more seeds! For your finches!

Wanderer: They are not mine. They are pests. Feathered rats. Worthless--

Girl, what in the world do you think you're doing? You think these men are going to let you go that easily? They love you too much for that.

Pretends he doesn't hear it. I'm sorry, you said something? You repeat yourself, louder this time, and he just gives you a blank stare. If you ask him for a reply, he doesn't say anything. Maybe blinks, mostly just goes back to whatever it was he was doing. If you demand an answer, he will plainly reply with that you're not breaking up, because that has to be mutual. And he doesn't agree.

Oh, you're going to leave? That isn't going to happen. He just needs to show you that this is the best way. You're smart, you'll learn quickly.

Cyno, Alhaitham, Albedo, Zhongli

Simply does not comprehend. Will stare at you blankly as well, but not because he's ignoring you, but because he doesn't understand. Breaking up? You don't want to see him anymore? That doesn't make sense. You must be sick. Sit down, let him take care of you, he'll get you a blanket or something. You're obviously not right in the head, this is why you need him. Stop talking about it, discussion is closed until you feel better and see reason.

Xiao, Razor, Chongyun

He does not take the news well. You were expecting that, which is why you're in public and he has to keep some kind of face/persona up. If you're lucky, he'll be smart enough to keep that up, but you bet he won't be letting you walk away. But the moment you try to get up and say that it's not working out, his hand has your wrist in a vice hard enough to leave bruises. A quiet "we'll talk about this at home" is hissed at you, and he jerks you back into your seat. You better finish your meal without fuss and hope beyond hope that when he gets you back home that he pretends it was all just a joke. After all, you'd never really leave him, would you?

Childe, Diluc, Ayato, Xingqiu

If you're dumb enough to try this at home where no one else is there, he's just going to think it's a joke. If you're smart, you'll play along and laugh when he does. Because the moment that he realizes that you're serious, the smile slides off his face. It takes exactly two seconds for you to realize you've made a mistake. Hopefully, he lets you off easy, but you are definitely in for some rough fucking.

Kaeya, Childe, Wanderer / Scaramouche,

Actually gets really hurt over it. How could you think about leaving him? You're in for a huge guilt trip. If you can make it through that, he'll let you get to the door before he decides to stop you. Just give him another chance. He'll be perfect for you, if you'd let him. Here, relax, sit back, he'll make you something to eat. Don't worry about what's in it, just think about him spoiling you.
