Me explaining in terms of strictly how I read canon I think Nahida not severely punishing the Sages is just meant to convey that Nahida, even when wronged, is not a very vengeful or harsh person and makes the choice to be kind instead, but in my mind I have this idea of a Nahida interpretation which elaborates on that where her self punishing tendencies extend to her being someone who internally downplays her own experiences constantly, and as a result has a hard time feeling she’s allowed or justified in placing a lot of blame on the Sages for what they did to her So while she is following her own philosophies regarding teaching lessons/wisdom/etc in how to handle the Sages and genuinely doesn’t want to be really angry or punishing because of who she is as a person, her decision is also influenced by the fact she’s basically blocked herself out of grappling with how to handle people who hurt her by blaming herself for said hurt instead as a coping mechanism. And like this is all just me being insane about Nahida Trauma and not something explicitly implied in canon but also I really do think this isn’t a far stretch from her canon characterization especially when my vision isn’t to conclude that Nahida needs to be angry and vengeful but she should extend the kindness she shows others to herself and also every day I get tormented thinking about she was the mental equivalent of an average human child when the Sages found her and how they basically specifically discarded her for being a child and the idea of how Nahida would pick up on + internalize that and eventually need time to unlearn it
Tumblr media
#nahida#genshin#fern.txt#fandomferns#fictional child abuse cw#anyways is anyone else here normal#see I think a sentiment most ppl get from nahdia’s character is correctly that she is kind despite being treated so poorly#but I want to explore her grappling with Why she does that bc she is genuinely kind#and I don’t think she’s struggling with moving on from things#but based off things she says word for word I feel it’s established nahida is very distressed by not being able to rationalize or#understand things that upset her#this is clear in both her SQs & her voicelines even down to her not liking seafood bc the unknown of the ocean#intimidates her. so I’d imagine she’s someone who responds to being mistreated by concluding#there must be a reason for it. and I actually have dialogue that backs me up here#bc when we first learn the sages have imprisoned nahida nahida herself basically says it’s fine bc her existence has#little meaning and she’s not good enough to be an archon. even as paimon is remarking how awful#the sages are for it and prompting nahida on if she’s upset w them#it’s not that Nahida isn’t insightful enough to acknowledge something as mistreatment#but rather she finds more comfort and a sense of control in having explanations for things#heck the reason she gives up her gnosis to Dottore is states in her char stories to be bc#she doesn’t want the lack of control that comes from a lack of information#nahida leaning on knowledge for a sense of control makes me esp sad when I think abt how#she does not have autonomy or agency for a majority of her life bc of her imprisonment n had fo rely on her#mind n ability to learn n gain knowledge#anyways to reiterate ks anyone else normal

Every single volume of this godforsaken manga keeps emphasizing more and more how Vash is only keeping himself from kicking the bucket because he needs to confront Knives and protect Rem’s memory and if he didn’t have that goal there would be literally nothing to keep him afloat over wanting to die and feeling like he deserves to be tormented and killed and I have never wanted to wrap a fictional character up in a cozy blanket and make a cup of hot chocolate more than I have with him

Alloaro culture is wanting a similar word to qpr for a committed partner you have sex with sometimes that is not romantic: qpr isn’t right because it has the word platonic in it.
hi! in a very gentle way, i am vibrating to let you know this is incorrect :)
from the POV of someone who's been around the aro community since ~2013-2014 on tumblr, the only time i've seen folks start to say that qprs couldn't include sexual components has been when
they've learned an incorrect definition of QPRs, or
in one particularly notable case, the individual proposing it turned out to be quite sex negative and upset at the mere thought that people could think that qprs could include sexual activity. this individual suggested an alternative term for individuals desiring sex in QPRs in a rather explicitly alloarophobic measure. when gently called out from what had seemed to be a genuine attempt at coining a new term, the above came to light. smaller cases of this pop up every once in a while, but this one got some notoriety.
queerplatonic was always meant to mean "queering the idea of a platonic relationship", "queering the idea of what a relationship means", and by explicit definition, has always been broadly and radically inclusive. any relationship, so long as the partners involved agree it is a queerplatonic one, is queerplatonic. no exceptions. this can mean it involves romance, sex, traditionally platonic elements, and anything and everything those involved desire out of it.
tldr; the word platonic is in queerplatonic to say it is counter to the idea of a restricted "platonic" relationship.

Part 1
It's late. Past 1 AM. Coni returns to the Old Penelope Bunker expecting Sunglo to be asleep in his bed, where she could crawl up next to him, easing any tension caused by her unanswered text. She planned on having him feeling so euphoric, he wouldn't even think to ask about Cecilia. But he's not in bed. She finds him in the sickly dim light of the kitchen waiting for her. He sits silently, no gadgets or bots to fidget with. Coni has never seen him appear so vacant. Sunglo: I haven't heard from you all night.
Tumblr media
Coni rushes through a flimsy excuse about his aunts being "really chatty," but Sunglo quickly redirects, immediately questioning Cecilia's whereabouts. Coni's eyes widen, realizing just how long she's left Erwin alone. Coni: Oh mod, Erwin! [Takes off down the hall]
Tumblr media
The screech of the chair against the stone floor echoes through the spacious halls of the bunker as Sunglo scrambles to his feet trying to get to her.
Sunglo: Coni, wait!
By the time he exits the kitchen, she's already beelining around the corner, her hurried footsteps quickly fading into the distance as he struggles to follow.
Tumblr media
Coni reaches Erwin's door first, and of course it's locked, giving Sunglo time to catch up with her. He grabs her arm, firmly but gently, careful not to hurt her. He demands an explanation. Coni: I... I borrowed Erwin's flannel. I promised him I'd return it tonight.
Sunglo: Okay, well he's asleep right now. I'm sure he'll be fine if you get it back to him in the morning. Will you just relax?
Coni: You saw him come home? Sunglo: Yes, right after work.
Tumblr media
Coni breathes a sigh of relief upon learning he's still safe.
Sunglo: [Still holding her wrist firmly] What's gotten into you? Where's Cecilia?
Coni jerks away and rubs her forehead.
Coni: It's a long story, okay? I need to shower. Sunglo eyes her, puzzled, and she retreats back down the hall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A momentary tussle ensues over the bathroom door. However, Sunglo, not wanting to hurt or frighten Coni, ultimately relents. He takes a step back, allowing Coni to slam the door shut.
Sunglo: [Voice strained and defeated] Concept, please tell me what's going on... Baby?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Coni locks the door behind her and lets the water wash over her, tears merging with the stream as she braces herself for the next phase of this ordeal.

Okay my girlfriend and I were discussing a very... *ahem* efficient practice from my childhood. I'll concede their point that it might be unhygienic, but the 2 seconds of effort a day saved might be worth it. Surely. Right? So I seek a tumblr second opinion-
*ie, drawer where all members of a household pool their toothbrushes and people use the first brush they grab without discriminating.

Irondad fic ideas #140
FRIDAY has news alerts set up for Spider-Man. This doesn't change during the blip, even though the kid is gone
One day, there's breaking news that Spider-Man is standing on the roof of some extremely tall building. This is during the blip, and no one has seen him in years.
No one has seen Iron Man either, which is why it's so crazy that he's suddenly shooting through the sky
When Tony arrives, he discovers that in fact his kid has NOT spontaneously un-dusted. It's actually just a civilian dressed as Spider-Man. It becomes clear the person was planning to commit suicide. The costume was for courage.
Even with his heart breaking from the false alarm, Tony talks the person down. He says that Spider-Man, too, lost almost his entire family. That he was still the best person Tony knew. At some point, when the person mentions losing a child in the blip, Tony says he understands how they feel.
Once the person has agreed not to jump and calmed down, they realize how unusual the situation is, remembering suddenly that Tony Stark hasn't been seen in public since the snap. They ask Tony, mostly just wondering out loud: why now?
Tony's eyes go to the suit for just long enough for the person to realize. They recall what he'd said about losing a child, and they realize with horror the emotional hell they just unleashed on Iron Man
When they start to stumble out an apology, though, Tony waves them off. He says that Spider-Man would love the idea that he was still helping people, even without being there. And he would love that in some way he'd gotten Tony back out there and helping people too.
Before they part ways, Tony asks the person to consider the suit a symbol of the courage to keep going, not to give up
The person responds, "you too."

my first existential crisis was probably when I was maybe nine or ten and i came to the hysterical realization that i had no way of knowing that what i saw in the world around me was anything like what my friend saw. not in a metaphorical sense but a literal one. like, how do I know that my perception of what a given, individual jellyfish looks like is the same as somebody else's? i don't! i can't! language is the best means i have of trying to figure it out and language is fallible and subjective too
picture me, vibrating at summer camp, contemplating how the truth of a shared reality is unknowable and maybe there's no such thing as reality at all
