Five of Wands: Covention Duel!
Upright: Conflict, competition, rivalry, disagreements, tension, arguments, difference of opinion, clashing ideals
Reversed: Avoiding conflict, mutual understanding, peace, cooperation, truces, healthy competition, release of tension
The Five of Wands is the card of conflict, clashes, and competition. It could signify a literal physical fight (like the duels between Lilith and Eda or Luz and Amity), or more internal conflicts like differing worldviews or clashing priorities. In Lilith and Eda's case, their conflict derives from their opposing lifestyles and beliefs about magic and social systems; Eda practices wild magic and refuses to conform and join a single coven, while Lilith upholds and enforces the coven system and strives to get Eda to join her side by any means necessary. Their rivalry also stems from disparities of raw magical talent between them. Luz and Amity also show clashing priorities in this episode: Amity's diligence improving her Abomination magic to maintain superiority versus Luz learning magic from scratch to protect her loved ones.
When reversed, the Five of Wands symbolizes an end to a conflict, often through clear communication and trying to understand differing opinions. After their botched duel, Luz and Amity communicate their motivations and admit their failings in behavior towards the other. They both recognize a bit of themselves in each other, and are able to come to a mutual understanding and make a tentative peace—the first brick in the foundation of their relationship.

“Watching and Dreaming” (Spoilers)
Hey everyone,
So I think this is going to be my last The Owl House post. I’m tagging this with spoilers just in case I go into any, but I somehow don’t think I will.
I’m not gonna lie, like most of you probably do, I wish The Owl House got much longer on the air. It is an amazing show and it feels a shame that Dana and the crew were forced to fit the ending into such a short span of episodes. There are areas that didn’t get explored further such as the consequences to Odalia Blight for her actions in helping the Emperor and also Kikimora. I would have liked to have seen a bit more exploration of Alador and Darius’ history even if it turns out they merely used to be friends and not in a relationship as I have predicted. Last episode we seemed to get just below the surface of why Boscha is the way she is. It would have been nice if these were all explored more but I appreciate constraints were put on the show where these things couldn’t be explored.
In the end though, I started this chapter of my blog with one theory in mind. Summer 2020 during the height of covid, I sat down to watch this show after it had been recommended to me and by episode 5, “Covention” I knew in that moment there was something between Luz and Amity and sure enough by Season 2 that was canon.
Lumity was the ship and at the time, the theory I set out to follow and that became canon. It is kinda why I begun to drop off a bit after it became canon, I continued to watch and enjoy the show but I was mostly out of ideas when it came to theories. And by the end Luz and Amity are still together and it seems they would have been together for 2-3 years by that point.
I really have enjoyed The Owl House. It ended way too soon and honestly, I wish a show like this had existed when I was a kid. I’m just so glad that LGBT+ youths growing up now or in the future will get to see themselves represented and in such an amazing show with such strong characters and story.
And who knows, maybe in the future Disney will see fit to return to the Boiling Isles but for now I think this is a good point to bring this chapter of my blog to a close. It’s been fun and thank you to all of you who continue to enjoy reading my sometimes incoherent ramblings 😂

Touch Starved!Amity Blight x Reader (HEADCANNONS.)
WARNING: ANGST WITH A FLUFFY ENDING, INSECURE AMITY BLIGHT, SUPER SEXY READER, OD*LIA BLIGHT BRIEFLY MENTIONED.
SUMMARY: POV of Amity being touched starved and not even knowing.
[HURT/COMFORT ALERT! HAVE TO FEED MY TRAUMATIZED WITCHLETS!]
-Amity’s parents were distant, to say the least, her father was constantly in his workshop and her mother only showed up when she wanted something.
-Despite the occasional unwanted hair ruffle from her siblings she was relatively affection less throughout her childhood.
-She wanted it but didn’t know how to ask or prove she’s deserves it
-But then she met you.
-During the initial stages of your relationship Amity might act cold, she seemed to only talk to you when she was showing off her achievements or subtly bragging about the new spell she’d learnt.
-Of course you’d praise her which made her absolutely weak, but what killed her every time was the gentle touches you’d gift her.
-A gentle but grounding hand on her shoulder, brushing some loose strands off her face, the rare forehead kisses you’d give before rushing off to class.
-Despite your intentions, it reinforces the idea in her head that she wasn’t going to receive your warmth unless she succeeds, unless she impresses you. she wasn’t worth anything if she doesn't win.
.
-The human girl, Luz Noceda, had challenged her to a witches duel.
-Amity would have almost found it laughable if it wasn’t so irritating.
-She was giving witches-in-training a bad name, giving Amity a bad name, but despite this she was glad that it happened.
-Many opportunities had sprouted from this event, the Emperors Coven would witness how powerful she could be, the young witchlets watching will see what a real witch can do, she can impress you and finally receive the love and affection she knows she hasn’t truly earned yet, but has she ever felt she’s earned anything?
-Confidently strolling onto the stage, with her mentors cold hand on her back pushing her into the spotlight, she immediately scans the crowd looking for the face thats burned into her memory.
-Seeing your smile eases the small knot that formed in her stomach, perhaps its a sliver of guilt for challenging a fragile magic-less human.
-She takes a deep breath, Blights always win, no matter what. She repeats the verse over and over as she steps onto the bumpy floor of the arena, No matter the cost.
.
-The gasps of the arena is drowned out by her heart racing in her ears.
-The owl lady proudly holds up a power glyph and she feels her knees go weak,
-She isn’t bothered by the eyes of the crowd, the cold stare of her mentor, the humans shocked but pitying expression, all her mind can think of is you, more precisely the disappointed look she’s conjured in her head.
-Feeling a surge of strength in her limp legs she takes off.
-Her thoughts go haywire as she blindly bolts through the crowd, They’re so disappointed in me, how will I redeem myself? Will I be punished? Do they still love me? will they keep touching me?
-She crumples to the floor in a dark empty spot.
-Hugging her knees to her chest she desperately tries to push back the familiar sting in her eyes.
-Hiding her eyes in her crossed arms, she allows the tears to fall, just this once.
.
-The sound of footsteps against the cold marble ground fills her ears.
-She startles slightly and coils up defensively, reading to scream at whoever is trying to approach her in a vulnerable state, especially if its that human…
-The words die on her tongue as your face, pinched in concern, fills her vision.
-You let out a relieved gasp at the sight of her, curled up tighter in shame as you swiftly approach.
-Diverting her eyes from yours, she braces herself for chastising, arms crossed and disappointed stares send her way, perhaps even yelling, she did also diminish your reputation by association.
-Your warm embrace thrown at her wasn’t expected, the confused feeling doing nothing to lessen the pleasant heat in her chest at your close proximity.
-You start rambling slightly as the anxious feeling in your stomach finally releases its weight, “Why did you run off [N/N]? I’ve been worried sick!”.
-Your intoxicating voice calms her nerves, quieting the stream of negative self talk and allowing her a deep breath.
-She doesn’t answer right away, holding you tightly to her, relishing in the feeling before it gets stripped away for her failure.
-She feels your fingers carding gently through her green hair, scratching her scalp gently and massaging softly.
-Taking a deep breathe she finally speaks up, “I’m sorry [Y/N].”
-You pull back slightly and she already misses the contact How can I survive without this? to look her in the eye.
-“For what?” You ask with a confused expression, hopefully she hadn’t mistaken your worry about her whereabouts for anger.
-“For cheating, for failing.” She hangs her head in shame, gripping the fabric of her pants in a white knuckle grip.
-You place a hand under her chin and tilt it upwards, despite being clenched shut a few tears slip through and fall down her pale cheeks.
-Placing your hands on the side of her head and using your thumb to softly wipe at the tears you coax her eyes opened and towards yours.
-Your eyes are fierce despite still remaining gentle, “Amity, don’t for a second think I care whether you win or lose, fail or succeed, I love you no matter what and always will.”.
-You place a firm kiss on her lips, hearing her sobs, you start peppering kisses all over her face and tears.
-She clutches onto you tightly, crying freely and as loudly as she needs.
-You rub soothing circles on her back as she lets out years of pent up emotions, stress of expectations, and the loneliness of parents like hers.
-You sit through it all, holding her tightly and whispering sweet comforts in her ear, rocking you both side to side faintly, and you do it because you love Amity Blight, perfect or not.
.
Phew! That was a some feels, and I may have teared up a little (Its the cheeto dust, I swear!) but I really enjoyed writing this! I am begging for some prompts or requests with whatever character, please don’t hesitate to send as many as you want in I adore it.
Goodbye little Witchlets, Blessed Be!
-THE SALEM WITCH
