In todays thoughts with #Greybeard I dive into some of my thoughts on Cardiac Power intervals, or “Drive Days” as we like to call them. These are an excellent addition to an athlete’s general conditioning program for a few reasons, but before going all in with this method I’d highly recommend your athletes have a very well developed “base” so they not only can recover within the workout and between workouts but also have greater and longer implements in their outputs. Would love to hear how other coaches implement this method with their athletes and what parameters they follow for progressing it. #strengthandconditioning #strengthandconditioningcoach #sportsperformance #sportsperformancetraining #physicalpreparation #physicalpreparationcoach #energysystemdevelopment #conditioning #conditioningtraining #gpp https://www.instagram.com/p/CoseM-YPV7p/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
The development of personality series aka studying for my exam in style:
From the Behavioral perspective:
The most popular and relevant piece of information is the classical and operant conditioning. This technique is as real as it gets and honestly you can use it on anyone including yourself.
Classical conditioning was constructed by Pavlov, and his experimentation on dogs, and what you do is assimilating an involuntary response with a stimulus. For example: being startled by the lightning! Initially, the lightning is nothing to be scared of, especially when it is somewhere far away, but then right after comes the thunder that scares us, determining us to assimilate being in danger with the lightning. Therefore whenever you see a lightning you immediately get all defensive, without having to hear the thunder that initially scared you.
Operant conditioning was constructed by Skinner, when experiencing with rats, and it assimilates a voluntary behavior with a consequence of that behavior. For example: most animal training programs use operant conditioning. You teach a dog to sit by making him assimilate that behavior with a reward (a treat) or a punishment ( though I don’t agree with them, and there’s empirical proof that they’re not as efficient as rewards)
Today we practiced circle walking in pushing millstone posture with weights to make movements more conditioned, efficient, and from deeper in the body than the arms. (I also made flax seed brownies)
I’m surprised how good I felt after a few unplanned days off at the gym. I have to plan my workouts ahead these days so essential movements like this one stay on training schedule. If it’s one thing I know, hip mobility is key! . . . . . . . . #mobility #hipmobility #handstandpractice #training #bodyweighttraining #healthylifestyle #handstandpushups #inov8 #balance #handstanddrills #splits #conditioning #conditioningtraining #functionaltraining #functionalfitness #fit #fitfam #workoutmotivation #trainingday #armyfreshfitness #militaryfreshfitness #mobilityexercises #mobilityflow #fitnessjourney #calisthenicsworkout #hittworkout #crosstraining #conditioningtraining #muscularendurance #handstandseveryday #handstandseverywhere (at Tucker Gym) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8xPTrMnl19/?igshid=vge8t3qa0c1c
Welcome to my Mini Project, a collection of the projects that I set out towards in life. A friend of mine told me that life is full of different things to build towards. You should never be complacent. I want to document my growth throughout this year. Growth in health, ideas, and life. My goal is to inspire others to build towards their goals and projects in life “If you aren’t building towards something in life then what are you doing?”
