CHiCO: first song of my solo career is "an encouraging song that pushes people who want to take a new step forward". it's both a song of encouragement for everyone and a song that inspires me myself as I take a new step forward. I know this post is kinda late, but I figured someone seriously needs to point this out.

This scene of Ken smiling at Karen and Arisa is just so freakin’ significant to me, especially bc I just recently cried while reading Karen’s request to Ken (and the build-up prior to that which is eerily similar to Arisa’s narrative in the rooftop scene of Heart no Shucho that made me cry as well) a day before the mv’s release. Seeing the mv acknowledge Karen and Ken’s interaction just makes this reconciliation even more emotional especially when the feelings of the chapter were still very fresh to me.

Like, Ken isn’t just smiling at Arisa bc he knew she dreamt of this moment. He’s also smiling at Karen because he witnessed first-hand how important this moment is to her as well! He saw the same longing Arisa had for her in Karen’s eyes when she confronted him and requested to tell Arisa that she’ll see her when she’ll finally learns to love herself. He was glad because he knew that Karen finally learned to love herself and is now fulfilling her promise to the woman he loved.

Prior to the girls’ reconciliation and with the exemption of the audience itself, Ken was the only one who knew the feelings of both sides towards one another. He knew very well that Karen and Arisa love each other, but they weren’t able to sort things out. He witnessed it through both of them. Now, he’s there smiling because the day when they could finally tell each other what they’ve held back for years finally came.

For just a few seconds in its opening, this mv was already perfect. I could say that I’m so blessed to just finished reading the emotional chapter that was majorly addressed in this music video before it was released. The experience is just so much more special actually. (If you want to cry, give yourself a favor and read that chapter then watch the mv lol.)

Perhaps I’m overstating things, but I just loved that chapter, and I’m really happy to be reminded of it through Ken so much!

To our fans who have always supported us, we apologise for surprising you with this unexpected announcement.

CHiCO with HoneyWorks will take a break after the tour in April.

In 2014, I won the grand prize at the 'Utakatsu!' competition and auditioned. It's been eight and a half years since we debuted as CHiCO with HoneyWorks.

I still remember the scenes of my first recordings and solo live performances. I'll never forget the joy and nervousness that made my heart burst when my song was first played on TV and in cinemas. I will never forget it and I still feel the same way. I was an inexperienced person at the time who didn't know what was right and what wasn't, but now I can sing my song with pride thanks to

Thanks to everyone at HoneyWorks and the band members who supported me in a kind and sometimes tough way.

My fans have seen my miserable parts and the parts where I have grown through my activities… Thank you so much for supporting me lovingly all these years.

For these eight and a half years of activity, in order to continue singing the songs I love so much

I want to face more music and take on more challenges. In order to improve my skills as a CHiCO vocalist

I am starting a solo project where I always wanted to challenge myself.

I think there will be many times in the future when I will face new obstacles and stumble in my challenges.

I am still the type of person who learns by falling, as I have since my debut, so I will keep gaining more experience and I will keep working hard so people can see my increased strength!

When CHiCO with HoneyWorks comes back, I hope we can once again deliver the music of CHiCO with HoneyWorks with all our strength!

I know some of you haven't caught up with our feelings yet. We hope that you will witness more CHiCO challenges in the future.

First of all, we are going to start the Zepp tour 2023 in February 「ⅰは自由で、縛れない。We'll give it our all, so look forward to it!
