watching Manly's playthrough of Poppy Chapter 3 rn.
Current thoughts:
I like the intro sequence where Catnap is dragging the player and drops them in a trash compactor, nice to see that the team is going for starting the chapters different from one another
the environments are jam-packed with a lot of gameplay already, a little overwhelming but not bad
don't trust Ollie, kid's kinda suspicious :/

I just came to say that I loved the fight scene in the hunt route, the desesperation I felt when MC was having a headache in the middle of it *chef kiss*.
In another note, whoever is the one singing to save MC must be aphonic by now and more because iirc MC seemed used to the headaches, poor little meow meow

Watched a playthrough of Poppy Playtime chapter 3, and I have thoughts:
First, who the fuck is Ollie??? We never see him. I don't trust him. I honestly have a theory that Ollie is either The Prototype and for some reason the Prototype wants us to reach him (he obviously has no issue killing the other toys, given he murders Catnap), or one of the other big monsters (like the box one from the multiplayer game).
Next, I refuse to believe that Huggie is dead no matter what Poppy says. Not only is Huggie a major mascot and thus, business wise, it'd make a LOT of sense to keep him around for one final obstacle between you and the prototype, but he's the only antagonist who's corpse we do not see. That added to the fact that in Chapter 2 there was a bloody trail and some blue fur leading to a vent and yeah, I don't think Huggie is gone.
And our character... I know it says we are supposed to be a former employee, but by the Gods are we short. XD we are one short motherfucker. Which leads me to theorize something... What if we're not the former employee, but their child? And we look so similar to that person that none of the toys can tell we aren't? It's been a long time, supposedly, so you'd think there'd be no way they could seriously know this is the same person just by looking at them.
Miss Delightful was honestly one of the scariest creatures so far. XD the rest were terrifying, but there's just something uniquely scary about what is supposed to be a teacher, a person dedicated to protecting and teaching children, talking about killing all the children if she knew where they were and choosing to kill us. Tho it is fascinating she gave us the chance to turn around and leave when we first enter the school. It IS also fascinating that seemingly, she didn't take part in the Hour of Joy. She was locked inside the school with the rest of the teachers, which from what I could tell was either during or just after the Hour of Joy (she didn't know where the kids were, which tells me that if she DID take part, it was solely inside the school and for some reason the kids were not there), and became what she is now apparently because of Catnap. Which reveals something uniquely sadistic about the Prototype and his "direct disciples." They literally turned to preying on the other toys as soon as the humans were out of the way. Which makes it clear "the hour of joy" was not just some act of rebellion, they were, as Poppy put it, just killing to kill.
As for what attacked Kissy Missy at the end... I honestly don't think it was the prototype. I think it's gonna be Huggie. Huggie is still unaccounted for and the only antagonist who's corpse we do not see. And I have no doubt he could defeat Kissy, especially if he caught her off-guard (which she would have been at the time).

Before I fall asleep, since I am on a Poppy Playtime binge, I'm gonna point out a few things that I haven't seen anyone mention that are bugging me.
How the heck did Dogday know who we (the player) are? Who told him? Did Catnap casually mention that Poppy had an angel wandering around? Was it one of the smaller critters? Was it Ollie (if so, how was Ollie communicating with him?)
Why did Ollie not know how many Smiling Critters there are? The line says "There were...8 of them I think." Ollie didn't appear to know for sure. This is like the biggest reason I don't think he's the Prototype (although I'm probably wrong because I suck at theories but...). The Prototype would darn well know how many Smiling Critters there are. And, as a note, so would any Orphan from the Playcare. So who tf is Ollie...
The Red Smoke is flammable. I am SO surprised I haven't seen anyone mention this (although I might just not be looking in the right places). In Catnap's defeat scene, he's electrocuted and starts breathing Red Smoke at us and ONLY THEN does he light on fire. THIS I am betting is gonna be MEGA important. I actually think that Poppy and her allies are shooting to destroy the factory entirely--we "diverted" the Red Smoke and my bet is that wherever we diverted it to is capable of flattening the entire place, which would make sense. Ending it all in one fell swoop.
What in the heck does the Prototype actually WANT? Because everything we know about him from the tapes would indicate that above all he wants freedom, and is capable of taking it with minor assistance from, say, other Bigger Bodies creatures. So why. Is he still. In the factory? We as the Player functionally walked in with no issue, and yeah to access some places we needed special hands but you're telling me in TEN YEARS the Prototype (who can assemble a laser pointer out of his alarm clock) couldn't figure out how to open a few doors? WHY IS HE STILL HERE? And what did he do with the kids?

He seems very connected to the computer systems in the lower levels.
He seems to have access to delivery chutes no one else would.
He seems to be operating through security cameras.
If boogie bot was a bigger bodies project then I'd imagine his purpose would be tech support or somewhere thereabouts.

kromer and ncorp: racist, ableist or something else entirely?
tw: you play limbus company, you should know the tw… also it’s in the title really
now I’ve been wondering about some discourse on Twitter (I know, real healthy) but for a while Kromer has been generalized as racist. however, there has been a rise of people clarifying that her behavior is not based off of racism but ableism. but is either side wrong? and would speciesism be a better approach to kromer overall?
chapter 3 is stock example of transhumanism, which doesn’t specifically lend to either opinion. (i.e the belief or theory that the human race can evolve beyond its current physical and mental limitations, especially by means of science and technology.)
ableism as defined by Oxford is “discrimination in favor of able-bodied people”. so now the issue is defining what it means to be disabled or able-bodied in the project moon universe. but specifically in ch3, the robotic additions were to seemingly well-off able-bodied individuals as a quality of life addition. now I don’t doubt Kromer would be equally vile to those who added prosthetics because of disability, but the mass that we’ve seen her kill is regardless of if they were disabled prior. I also personally have issue with the association that prosthetics automatically indicates disability. however, thematically to the chapter, ableism could absolutely apply. ncorp inquisitors torture the cyborg civilians by mocking their body functions and declaring the cyborgs could never be as “human”.
then how about racism? well, I’d argue race as it currently is defined is the biological differences within a species. adding robotic parts. the general public seems to believe race can not be modified, and race is something that has many cultural implications and differences. no one quite classifies “cyberhuman” or “robots” as a human race yet…? however, shamefully among history is mass genocide of race because of race, which is reminiscent of ch3—it’s bigotry and genocide of people of a specific group. but if it is based on race? turns out the Kromer commentary (and extending to Ncorp) towards those who use robotic additions is almost a Venn diagram between things said in race and/or disability discrimination within human history.
speciesism applies much better than racism but follows a similar principle. it emphasizes on human superiority over other species such as animals… or in recent topic, ai and robots. it’s bias against robots and ai because it’s not human? yeah, especially if Kromer and her ncorp goons do not believe the cyborgs as humans. however, this specific subset of speciesism doesn’t really hold any importance except for like… ai use for businesses or the weird ai morality question. discussion on this also focuses on an artificial mind and the cyborg individuals in ch3 probably did not become artificial ai (if our good Sinclair’s family is any indicator).
is it possible that Kromer is actually a blindly bigoted person who doesn’t have an ideology that can fit any specific modern concept we have because she’s irrational? well, yeah that’s always been the thing anyway lol. in the end, it’s difficult to define what Kromer is specifically because it’s not as if she’s following the exact logic of being ableist or racist…that’s pretty human in a sad way. they’re not human to her because they’ve modified their bodies in some way… I mean, genuinely, social Darwinism might be the one.
there is always the religious aspect that is clearly there, I mean, there’s a tw on the list called “religious torture and violence” and “enforced ideology and/or actions”. the resemblance of this subset of ncorp being cult-like certainly adds more to it. perhaps I’d save that for a part 2, religious discourse is truly difficult to discuss and knowing Hermann Hesse (and having not read Demian), I would have more insight post-reading Demian on this subject
the ending statement is this; I myself am not disabled and I don’t think I’ve experienced enough racism in my lifetime to say the text in ch3 is reminiscent of my experiences. If you have, I’d love to hear opinions on this. If you haven’t, I’d like to hear from you as well. I also really don’t have time to read Demian right now or do more research, this is just to unload some thoughts on the matter. there might seriously be an exact concept out there that captures Kromer in her entirety already idk

Ocean of Memories Ch. 3
Well, I finally finished chapter 3 of my RWBY x Titanic AU, but with AO3 having issues I don't want to add more stress to the IT folks working to fix the website. So, for those who actually enjoy this fic, here's a small teaser for what's coming.
“I think I can trust you to lend me your ear," she replied quietly. A playful glint sparkled in her eyes. "As long as you’re not the kind of woman to disappear in the morning and gossip about my embarrassing near-drowning escapade. My reputation might never recover."
Yang pretended to zip her lips shut and threw the metaphorical key over the railing.
Blake slowly turned around on the rail to face the blonde and let out a shaky breath that she didn’t even know she had been holding. Amber eyes met lilac once more and she felt a foreign warmth spread from her chest to the tips of her fingers. Her eyes flickered to their clasped hands, and a spark of electricity bolted through her arm.
For the first time in a long time, she felt at ease.
Yang smiled warmly. Her hand was still intertwined with Blake's. “Pardon my forwardness, Miss.” She gently wrapped her free arm around Blake's waist, providing a comforting anchor. "But now that we're properly able to introduce ourselves," she said with a playful lilt in her voice as she shook their hands. "I'm Yang, Yang Xiao Long."
A soft smile graced Blake's lips as she sniffed against the cold, wiping away the drying tears on her cheeks with her free hand. "Blake Belladonna.”
Yang blinked in disbelief before sighing dramatically. “You’ve gotta be kidding me! Not only are you absolutely gorgeous, but even your name means ‘beautiful woman’? Next, you’re going to tell me that you’re some sort of femme fatale assassin, aren’t you?"
Blake couldn’t help the small bark of laughter that escaped her lips. “I’m sorry to disappoint you, but this horrible dime-store novella ends with the mysterious woman from first-class just being a Faunus.”
“Well, then we’ll just have to up the quality a bit to make it a best-seller,” Yang said jokingly. “Now, come on. Let’s get you over here.”
“Please.” Blake carefully stepped up to the next rung on the railing and felt her dress catch underneath her shoe. A wave of panic surged through her as her foot slipped from the precarious position. A blood-curdling scream escaped her as she plummeted downwards, desperately clinging to Yang’s hand as she dangled over the churning, icy waters below.

Ok! I think I found out from who is Jack twisted from!
There is this big mystery among the twst fandom, revolving around Jack. The question was always:
From who/what is Jack twisted from?
Now hear me out... I looked over other theories and pieces of fanart and found something similar: Jack was always associated with characters from the lion king story... (or I some cases the wolf from the red riding hood, but we aren't counting them, cuz that not Disney movie)
Which hit wierd with me... like... a wolf man is based off rafiki?(idk if I spelled it wrong, also no hate towards others who associate Jack with them, it's completely valid)
And then I re-watched the twst ep/books 2 and 3...
I noticed that Jack was actually more present and more active in ep/book 3 rather than 2... And it hit me wierd again, cuz why? Literally why?!
So I decided to grab my Little mermaid storybook(with photos ofc)
And that's when I saw this mf:

And I thought: "Wait, he looks almost like Jack's wolf form..."
And that's when it clicked
Jack might be twisted from Max, Eric's dog!
And here are some motives as to why:
Max is often referred as Eric's best friend. I mean... Man legit risked his life to save Max... Jack is considered our friend in ep/book 3
Jack is very loyal to his friends and his values, which makes him sometimes back off from using dirty tricks(as seen in ep/book 2-3) just like a dog...
Max also showed in the movie to not be pleased by the statue on the ship, which was kind of a far-fetched gift for Eric, who most likely didn't want it, making Max to express to a degree Eric'sreal opinion... Jack is aware of our opinion in ep/book 2 and agreed that yes, it was exaggerated from savanaclaw... Aldo in ep/book 3, Jack was mostly talking on our behalf too, showing that he shared a similar mindset when it came to the contracts...
Max helped Eric to notice Ariel on the shore and more often than not, Max was against Vanessa/Ursula, showing that he considered her an enemy against Eric. Max even contributed at busting the Eric-Vanessa wedding... Jack also showed to be protective of us throughout ep/book 3 and also he contributed at busting Azul...
Side note: in the movie, Sebastian and Scully actually ripped off Ursula's necklace, which I found funny cuz Leona and Ruggie destroyed the contracts...
Wolfs also are from the dog family :3 And Jack is often called by the others pup, doggie, etc...
Max was easy excited by things, much like Jack gets excited in ep/book 3 by Octavinelle being underwater...
In ep/book 3, we/yuu/mc represent (by most theories and assumptions) either Ariel or Eric... I would say that Adeuce and Grim Represent Ariel(as they failed to fulfill the contract like Ariel in the story) and we/yuu/mc represent Eric... (bc Eric was the one who defeated Ursula in the end) hence Jack as our companion makes sense.
We/yuu/mc came from 'the land'(another dorm/world/mindset) and so did Jack(same motives -the world part) which makes us 2 the only ones with a 'different background' (motives, dorms and mindsets)
Also Max is super mega fluffy and so is Jack in his wolf form, but that's my opinion
With these motives, I hold my lil argument... I might be wrong, I might be right... who knows... This is my lil shitty theory...
