The way our fandom terrorises this man simply because he’s Taylor’s ex is reprehensible. He’s the one who actually has a moral backbone and is brave enough to take a stance on Palestine (all while being sent death threats from Swifties).

It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.

If you're a Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez fan...please don't interact with my blog because I'm going to assume you support and encourage white feminism and you will be blocked.
Both celebrities have the ability to encourage their fans to boycott brands listed on the BDS list, both celebrities have the ability to encourage their fans to call and email their reps, both celebrities have the ability to encourage their fans to educate themselves about Palestine and post about the war on Gaza - but they won't because they don't actually care about human life, they care about being "politically correct" and not doing anything that will cost them money.
Selena who has always stood for kindness has shown her lack of it with regards to Palestine. Taylor who has always stood for activism has shown her hypocrisy by not only polluting this world with her private jet but also by refusing to even address the on-going genocide.
Liking their music does not inherently mean you are a bad person but defending their actions and endorsing them will make me question your moral stance.
Don't say you support Palestine when you support celebrities like them. And don't clain that they are kind souls when they have done nothing to spread awareness about Palestine. They chose ignorance, they chose silence and they chose to stand with the oppressor.

I was today years old when I realized that when Taylor Swift says "your Midas touch on the Chevy door" she means that everything "he" touches turns into gold (referencing King Midas who, according to greek mythology, changed whatever he might touch into gold and in the end that power became a curse).
Incorporated in the song it can have a good meaning - reminiscing the first dates or times he'd open the door for her and how everything he touched turned into something valuable and how he himself added more meaning to the most mundane things or it can have an equally bad meaning since the power itself in the mythological story turns out to be a curse when the king realizes that he can't even hug his own daughter without her turning into a solid gold statue - everything "he" touches turns into solid gold, marks it as a simple vain cold thing to who he transfers his materialistic traditonal desires to that would please no one but himself (the narrator of the song not being able to say yes when asked to marry and having a bunch of seemingly trivial problems to hometown skeptics) also correlating to the title of the track: Champagne problems which is a type of problem or issue that might be seen as trivial or superficial in the grand scheme of things!!!
Or maybe I'm overthinking it like everything else in my life or maybe this was obvious and I was too slow. But damn to go from that line to "November flush and your flannel cure"??? I'm in love with her songwriting on this record
