I'm fairly new when it comes to city builders/village generator so when Ages of Cataria popped into my radar, I wasn't super interested.

This Wednesday's weed is catnip, Nepeta cataria. You're probably familiar with it whether you have cats or not, because it's culturally a very important plant due it its use as a "recreational substance" for cats. Of course, not all cats get the "catnip high", which is genetically mediated. The irioids in the plant are repellant to some insects, which could give cats that enjoy it a slight evolutionary advantage against pests. Unfortunately, it's not native to North America or western Europe and like many mints, can be annoyingly prolific.

The designing process for this was just me going “don’t make them a self-insert, don’t just straight up make them me, don’t- oops. That’s me” and honestly good for me. Anyway toh witchsona yippee

Would like a game that’s kind of like The Sims meets Spore (I think; I’ve never actually played Spore), or like a colony/settlement game, where the player always starts with a relatively modern human species but over time a combination of random factors and player interventions changes the species until they are more and more alien and then at a certain level of development you can go out and meet other human descended aliens and idk, fuck them for hybrid babies? Have fashion shows? Idk I just think it would be fun iunno
