WIP Whenever

I was tagged by @alyssalenko. Thanks, friend! Here's a new snippet from my Under The Red Hood AU called Bad Seeds.

The orderly doesn’t check them at the security gate. No one checks Batman for weapons. Even if they took his utility belt, nothing would stop him from getting what he wanted. Worse men have tried. Far worse men. Tim–Robin–looks around wide-eyed, jumping at the slightest clang in the plumbing. For a moment, Batman doesn’t smell it–he only smells the odor of fresh bleach. It’s almost refreshing as it stings his nostrils. But then they pass through the first hallway. There it is—that dank smell that lingers in Batman’s sinuses long after he leaves. Maybe that’s why no one in Arkham truly ever gets better. It’s the goddamn mold.

Just as Bruce Wayne starts to run the numbers of what completely tearing down and rebuilding this hellhole will cost, the orderly stops. Batman blinks, realizing he failed to notice them descending multiple floors. The low ceilings loom over their heads. The basement. Where Arkham keeps its small number of metahumans. Most have been moved to more specialized facilities by now. But a handful linger behind. And just beyond the glass sits the very man (man?) Batman wants to speak to.

Dr. Jason Woodrue looks more tree than man these days. Like an ent in one of those novels Jason–Jason–used to read cover to cover. But The Flouronic Man still has eyes, a nose, and mouth. Enough to tell if he’s lying.

1. fandom art as pfp/banner = okay with credit, but asking is appreciated. (sona stuff can't be used though ;; it's too personal.)

2. repost/reuploading of any kind = not okay, sorry! nobody likes reposting without permission. reblogs tho are of course totally fine, those rock.

3. i prefer you don't use my art as pfp if you're a strictly nsfw account :P

4. dunno if this counts, but if you're a "MAP" (twitter(?) term for pedo, not multi-animator project ;;) or a general creep i obviously don't want you anywhere near me or my art. common sense stuff.

if maniacs wasn't maniacs I know some of yall would love scarlet.

isolated small town girl with an overbearing father and a mother who grooms her into being overly sexual at a young age so that she can grow up to work at her brothel. her only love is an older brother figure. she pretty much only serves to be killed off to start the plot but she haunts the narrative for the rest of eternity.

#maniacs is so fucking stupid and ridiculous but its underlying plot is actually insane.#scarlet exists just to die so her family is cursed to spend an eternity avenging her death.#the really sucky part is shes ONLY in the comic (and field of screams but......yeesh)#captain's log #2001 maniacs
