Is it weird to mourn for a character we’ve only seen, at most less than an episode?
I’ve come to love Emperor Georgiou but it feels so tragic and cruel that we got to know Captain Georgiou and we lost her soon after.
She embodied so much of startfleet and then she was gone too soon.

When you say temporal shenanigans do mean something like Phillipa being rescued before her death being sent to to the far future so she can see that Saru and Michael are now fully-fledged Captains?
YES
But also before Philippa is rescued by PIC!Seven they are gonna have their first met in which VOY!Seven gets thrown back in time and aboard on Shenzhou
Philippa and Seven formed a bond (not like that Kathryn) and when Seven back to her own timeline she does some research and finds out Philippa's death...
Cut back to PIC!Seven travels back in time and saves a badly injured Georgiou from a Klingon ship right after Michael gets beamed up. Everyone assumes Georgiou is dead because there's no body. Seven somehow managed to bring Georgiou back to her own timeline to use the current medical techs to nurse Georgiou back to health. Of course Seven is gonna send Georgiou back to her timeline (aka back to Michael)
