Radical ideas, but:
Pay people appropriately and enough to live comfortably
Health insurance shouldn't be tied to your job, universal healthcare
Tax the rich
Billionaires shouldn't exist
TRICKLE DOWN DOESN’T WORK; THE ULTRA WEALTHY JUST HOARD IT AND CRUSH EVERYONE ELSE
Getting really tired of capitalism; it doesn't work and is literally destroying the world

Sooooo Watcher is currently imploding and I have a lot of thoughts about it, especially on my anxiety of what this might mean if their streaming service actually works.
Spoilers on today’s announcement video: Watcher is moving all of their content to their own streaming platform for a fee of $5.99 /month, and they are also archiving all their old content so we cannot watch it for free anymore. This is supposed to all happen by May 31st.
I fit within the majority of feeling disappointed and betrayed. I can’t afford that, and even if I could, why would I support that when other options have not been tried yet? A patreon? Exclusive content? More merch? It’s frustrating seeing creators we trusted to understand and empathize with their audience slap us across the face like this.
I keep thinking of other channels, other companies, that have been on YouTube for longer and have not done something like this to us. Game Theory, Try Guys, Smosh, Drawfee, the list goes on and on. I understand their content might be less work/ money to make, but I feel like most fans would be fine if the quality had to go down a little for us to keep everything free. We don’t need a whole complex set design for them to teach us history or weird mysteries and love it.
And lastly the reason why it gives me so much anxiety is if this actually does marginally well, we might see more YouTubers alienate their content like this for money. Not only would we have major streaming services to worry about, but now all these minor ones too for YouTube content creators that have 1/100th of the available media. I’m exhausted.

Is there a word to describe "having been traumatized by Capitalism"? Such as, if I'm being"unproductive" I feel like a failure? Or if I walk out of a store without having bought anything, I feel like security assumes I've stolen something so I'm scared and anxious?

random rant about this scene because I'm sick and tired of this society and I was rewatching the movie.
(this is my own interpretation of what he meant so I might be wrong)
Y'know at first I didn't really clock what he meant because it was a joke and I didn't understand half of his jokes but honestly? Honestly?
Capitalism sucks the life out of you. I'm not even twenty and I'm already so tired, scared of how I'm going to survive on my own when Canada is in a housing crisis, everything is getting smaller and more expensive before my eyes and working any sort of modern day job just seems like a nightmare so I don't really have any dreams.
even looking back to the beginning of capitalism, it was a disaster. I'm sort of studying it in my institutionalization/disabilities course and it was fucked up from the start, set on exploiting the masses until there was nothing else they could give and disregarding those who couldn't contribute in the same way (the disabled, the poor, the elderly, etc)
Back to my point, that thing is like a black hole in the middle of Mumbattern, slowly destroying and sucking the life out a beautiful place.
Capitilism sucks away your creativity and the many things that make you special as an individual.
So yeah. Hobie's throw away line was actually pretty fucking acurate to the reality we live in these days.
On the topic of Canada, Capitalism, and Hobie I feel like it is also prudent to mention that Canadian news and the fact that you have to scour the internet for any shred of news about what's happening in your own damn country reminds me of that one line where Hobie goes "I ain't got a Scooby doo, mate. But that's what they want."
Cause yeah. I don't have a fucking clue what's going on my own country, stop hiding behind america and it's faults while acting like you're perfect, Canada

whats the buddy sistem and free therapy for if cucurucho is a horrible boss who only tells people what to do and does no work himself??
if paying their workers with pictures of himself wasn't enough he is now sending ONE worker to retrive the islanders ALL BY THEMSELVES in a fucking WOODEN boat
like at this point they are better off as cellbit dinner, at least they would be prepared with care and love since he is probably feeding his husband with the meat too

I am angry.
I watched someone I love literally die yesterday and I have to go to work tomorrow because there is no guarantee that me watching a member of my family die is a "qualifying event" for three paltry days of bereavement leave.
I watched them remove the ventilation tube. I counted the spaces between his last, gasping breaths. I called the doctor in when I realized he wasn't breathing anymore. I watched someone who I love, someone who has spent the last two weeks in the hospital alongside him, someone who has lost at least 10 pounds over this nightmare ordeal, shatter when she lost her person in the world. I watched her hold his body and cry while he grew cold, even after the doctor called the official time of death. I watched her fall on the floor when they took his body to the morgue.
I left her in the care of another family member, but damn it all. I should still be there. I should be able to drop everything and take care of my family.
Instead, I am going to work tomorrow just so I know I can go to the funeral when it is arranged.
Anybody who still believes America is the greatest country in the world is delusional. The greatest country in the world wouldn't be built on a system that demands we abandon our family during the worst time in their life to make rent.
I am so angry.

late fees are so dumb your payment is probably late bc you don’t have the money for it when it’s due so the company’s solution is to charge you more which makes it more difficult to pay 🤔
