My absolute favorite ALOTO scene, Although I know there are a lot more profound scenes such as the club scene or Jo’s home run but I absolutely love the shift in dynamic and camaraderie here.

We started off with Esti wishing for a friend in Lupe and being all but rejected and left in the dust to them gaining an understanding a friendship, one that gives them the opportunity to not only show solidarity but use something they both have in common to win.

Cancel Your Gays

Excellent piece from @danapiccoli on TV's readiness to kill great queer women-led shows, and the fans fighting to keep them alive.

Knowing how hard it is to get a queer led show not just developed but onscreen, I can't imagine how gutting it must be for everyone involved in making these shows to be so unceremoniously (and often inexplicably) canned.

Self producing a big queer audio drama has been TOUGH at times, but at least the only people who can pull the plug on the series is us.

It’s not even about sapphics can’t have nice things, we literally can’t have ANYTHING. [sigh]

Once again we (the world/the western media) moved from Bury Your Gays to Cancel Your Sapphics.

I’ve seen people use more of the “Cancel Your Gays” tagline than the other one, but I will keep using the “Cancel Your Sapphics” because it looks perfectly clear to me that only shows with queer women as leads are getting canceled left and right lately.

The only ones left (the ones I care about) so far are: Maya and Carina from Station 19, Kate and Lucy from NCIS: Hawaii, and we also have Ellie and Dina from The Last of Us we can still look forward to…

Can I just say that I never thought I'd be reblogging so much Bubbline content in 2023. Like Obsidian back in 2020 was already a nice little treat. But to think that five years after the finale we'd have not just a revisit but a resurgence of love for Adventure Time. From a fandom that wasn't exactly dead, but was definitely dormant. I mean Bubbline shippers really fucking won. We went from a hypothetical backstory, to a confirmed history, to a slow burn handled with the utmost care. Concluding with confirmation to the audience that they were officially back together. And then they decided to show us their lives post finale and that was already shocking considering how the media treats sapphic relationships. Especially in animation. But then they gave us a spinoff show with the genderbent versions of this amazing ship and that's cool, I love Marshall and Gary. But they didn't just leave us with that, oh no. They ALSO gave us our girls, both in canon and as an au (which was phenomenal). And basically confirmed that they truly are soulmates no matter the universe. Even when they don't fall in love, their destinies are entwined. Like...that's unheard of. We're just barely getting storylines like that in live action. And they gave us that in a cartoon! And they weren't even a background ship. They were THE ship. I just... I've never been so happy. And the creativity that artists have now that we have more design choices and more outfits. It makes me cry every time I see it across ALL of my socials.
