Says a native of LA, “FIRST TIME ON THE MARKET, same family for a hundred years, a selection of photos telling you exactly WHO is haunting you. It's literally shocking to see a house this intact ANYWHERE but especially in LA and it breaks my heart to KNOW that some asshole is going to buy this and turn it into a modern disaster or some abomination 'homage' to the era instead of preserving it the way it deserves.” 1903, Los Angeles, California, 6bd. 3ba., $1.395M. Already has a pending offer.
Maybe 2 of your hosts?
Nice big porch, still intact.
Entrance hall detials - pocket doors, beautiful millwork on the stairs, original ceiling rosette.
Can you imagine this sucker starting to play in the middle of the night?
Beautiful room- love the rounded ceilings, too.
Details of the fireplace tile.
This is beautiful, looks like the dining room. I would definitely leave the mural, but the lower wallpaper is bubbled.
How gorgeous is this fireplace tile?
Okay, the kitchen is old, but it’s not original. Needs work. It does have cool drainboard sink, though.
Look at this vintage fridge. Too bad the enclosure is such a hack job.
Nice sun porch outside the kitchen looks like it was a later addition.
Large central landing on the 2nd fl. Notice that all the original lighting fixtures are still there.
The bds. are large, but they really need some freshening up.
This is an original sink in the main bd.
Nice sunroom in this bd.
One of the very vintage baths.
It looks like they may have built a surround to make claw foot tub look modern. I had an apt. once where they did that, so I’d have to see what’s under there.
The attic definitely has potential.
Half garage/half barn.
This is cool. Lots of potential.
Nice yard needs some landscaping.

@sky-eternal
TL;DR: It's from Latin, a prefixed form of the same root as convert, subvert, and so on.
English v. invert 'to turn something upside down, inside out, or oppositional; to divert, convert to another use', earlier as Early Modern English v. invert, inuert 'id.' (attested from ca. 1533), is a borrowing from Medieval Latin v. invertere 'id.', earlier as Late Latin v. invertere 'id.', even earlier as Classical Latin v. invertere 'id.', and earlier still as Old Latin v. invertere 'id.', a prefixation of Old Latin v. vertere 'to turn, flip; to change, alter' (also in English revert, convert, divert, etc.), giving Proto-Italic v. *wertesi 'id.' (whence also Oscan adj. ϝερσορει 'epithet of Jupiter'), from Proto-Indo-European v. *werteti 'id.', extension of Proto-Indo-European r. *wert- 'to turn, rotate' (whence, ultimately, English worth, vortex, weird, etc.).
