So I was thinking about how langaues have changed over time, and I was wondering about if the OM characters did visit a country back in the 17th century and never visited again they would speak what they spoke back then
However, its mentioend that Lucifer, Satan and probably Mammon have visited England throughout many times they would have senw the empire and how it fell. They would have pickes up on the language and dialect
For example Lucifer having the queen accent which would have been around the 1990s
Satan having more of a modern British Oxford Accnet
But Mammon's accent would change throughout time, as he has been to (headcanon) that Mammon has been to the USA and his accent and dialect would have changed
So it would be intresting to see this and the country history through them, like their perspective, and understanding why demons seem like they are higher than the human race

I'm about as okay as I can be, I suppose. I've been better, but I've also been worse! I hope you're doing well!
Anyway, I think it's fascinating to consider what kind of accents the demons have. If we consider that they all spoke some native demon language (or angel language or both) before they ever learned any human world languages, then it stands to reason that they would speak any human world language with a demonic/angelic accent.
My experience with language learning is that although I am doomed to always have an American accent, I still try to use the accent of the language I'm learning to speak.
So I would think that if someone is learning English, they are going to try to emulate whichever English accent is around them. The one they hear the most. If they're not actually in an English speaking place (like they're learning in the Devildom first), they might end up with a mixture of some kind because they're using different learning sources. (I think it'd be pretty cute if they all picked up whatever accent MC has.)
Which means that they could absolutely pick up any of the accents you've suggested if they've spent any amount of time in a place where that accent is the one they encounter the most.
I think it would be kinda funny for Mammon to be the only one with an American accent. Now I'm just imagining him with a southern accent lol.
And it would indeed be interesting to hear what they've experienced of the human world and its various countries, especially the ones who seem to have been there often. Due to the whole witch situation, Mammon seems like he's the one who's been to the human world the most. However I do think that Satan would be the one who would be actually paying attention to human world history. I think he'd have a lot to say about historic events, especially if he happened to witness them first hand.
I think there's a lot of room for interesting headcanons about the way the demons have interacted with the human world.

Ok so I've randomly had this genius idea and was keeping it in my head for a month or so. And i for some reason had an urge to find someone to make this thing. These two are pretty much the same, but Algophobia one has more angst potential than just "Pain-sensitive"
This thing sounds just so hilarious in my head, imagine after MC does something bad Lucifer wants to punish them, but then he remembers that this human uses cooking gloves to drink coffee because "its way to hot" and ends up with existential crisis because all of his punishments will turn Pain-sensitive MC into dust😭
I saw a lot of ppl headcanoning that demons are like "well, humans are fragile and easily will die!" and starting to think that human is dying when they broke a bone. Thats funny, but imagine what would happen if it ACTUALLY were like that. Mammon wants to get MC to the casino, but then sees how they slip and fall to their knees and the crying because "FFFFF MY KNEEEEES HURT😭😭😭" And he is just like..."Damn, bro, how u live like this" and ends up way to afraid to bring them to the casino bc of "eeevil demons that would eat them!".
Also i imagine that Levi would do something similar, but, lets agree that him asking MC to go somewhere is an impossible scenario. I think he will do a good job tho.
Satan and MC hanging out in the garden with cats and this dude, who can easily broke the entire house if he gets angry, casually watching this piece of human struggling to pet a cat bc of their shaking hands. "Come on, just pet it, u got it, MC." "but cats have claws and claws are paaaainful!!!!"
Asmo is probably the only one who will have no problem with that, lol. This dude loves saying about being gentle. Yeah, not surprising that i simp for him. But dynamic between Devildom's biggest slut and a Human, who never kissed with anyone because "well, if i am kissing someone, I can't tell if the person is not gonna get a knife a d won't stub me! and stubbing ppl is painful!" sounds hilarious.
Beel is a big cinnabun, we all can agree. But yhis cinnabun is so big, that it can easily hurt MC accidentally! Even average people often cause ain-sensitive MC pain, and someone as big and strong babyboy like Beel? Damn, poor big man and MC, who waits for hot food to cool down for 15 minutes before eating it because "hot food is painful!"
Belphegor probably will do okay.. i mean, if we ignore 16 lesson.. he is pretty gentle boy so i guess he won't do anything bad. But, i can still imagine how this dude might hurt MC in his sleep and when wakes up and sees them, ouch-ing and rubbing their cheek, because "you were asleep and accidentally hit my cheek.." while this dude was just changing his sleeping pose.
So you can make something fluffy with brothers trying to not-hurt Pain-sensitive MC accidentally, you can do it in memes, you can do some angst with Algophobia. You can do whatever you want, i give the idea, you use it if you want!~

flynn for the ask game!! or if he's already been sent, then isabeau!!
favorite thing about them: While at first I found it a little jarring, going from a completely silent protagonist to one speaking, I'm really endeared to Flynn's gentleness and soft-spokenness. And actually it suits him really well, having once been a silent protagonist. Nor is it even out of left field -- NPCs in IV comment that Flynn is very reserved and quiet. So I'm really glad that IVA kept that even while giving (the real) Flynn a couple speaking lines. I also really, really like that he (the real one) stays humble and reserved in IVA despite his celebrity status. When I first played IVA, I had only done IV's chaos route, so I found everyone praising him to be really jarring. But now having done the neutral route, I can see why and it makes me appreciate Flynn's modesty all the more. Not to mention, it makes the distinction between him and Shesha Flynn's radical "personality shift" all the more apparent. That's good!!
least favorite thing about them: Having said all that… This is more an issue with IVA's writing and pacing, but I do wish that (the real) Flynn got more moments to express himself and really show his own character. Flynn suffers from the same problem that Toki does -- we don't get to see their actual character for the majority of the game and their potential and own development suffers for it. I'm very happy with Flynn's personality in IVA, but the rest of him only serves as a foil for the plot and especially in handing Nanashi the torch.
favorite line: My favorite line WOULD be his comment on Issachar's fishing hook in the bonds route, had I not permanently missed the fishing hook in my first playthrough 😭
However, I do really like his surprised, saddened reaction when he sees Jonathan's and Walter's spirits in YHVH's Universe. I was actually surprised that he even reacts to them in the massacre route even after becoming a semi-mindless puppet, especially when…he no longer has any attachment to the fishing hook in that route aaaauuughhhhh 😭😭
brOTP: EASILY Flynn and Issachar being the bros for life and eternity!!! And he's totes bros with the whole Samurai cast, for sure for sure!
OTP: I like a lot of Flynn ships (minus my NOtp), but Flynn x Isabeau are truly best for each other. I love that Isabeau cares for and is devoted to Flynn, but without sacrificing her own convictions. I do wish though that Flynn showed some attraction to her (again, an issue with IVA's writing).
nOTP: Yeah uh, I really hate seeing Flynn x Nanashi and I hate how popular it is in the Japanese fandom. Big reason why I don't engage a lot with the IVA fandom cause I'm just so tired of seeing that.
random headcanon: I too also lowkey fancy the headcanon of Flynn being a transwoman, based on dialogue demons can give in IV~ We support trans headcanons in this house!
unpopular opinion: Like aside from how certain sides of the fandom treats him with respect to other characters, and what I've already voiced about his writing in IVA, I don't really have an unpopular opinion on Flynn? Kinda hard to when he's mainly a player avatar. He's good that way.

opinion on gopher
Well no shade at any Gopher fans but not really positive so dont read further if you dont wanna be sad😂
To me Gopher kind of is one of the reasons for my controverial oppinion of the anime being better than the manga:
The most simple and least pretentious way of describing my thoughts and reasons is - I find him unfunny and obnoxious, while also feeling that he is a pointless charachter with wasted potential at the same time.
But to get more into detail...
When did he get introduced (if I remember correctly?): During that whole mini-arc about Maka wanting "to be an angel".
I have many problems with that part of the story, especially with how it turns Maka into some generic "tsundre kawaii girl who not so secretly likes the guy who she is bitchy too"
But I wont get too much into that, just the fact that I get the point - Gopher gets introduced as foil to her in that arc, to kinda give her a reality check of how unlikeable and childish she is acting.
But the point is, that even with the most charitable interpretation of the arc, Gopher IS just by his nature a charachter tailor-made (literally) to be obnoxious and annoying.
And unlike Excalibur, I find the way in which he is just groan-worthy and not charming and soothing (Yeah Excalibur is great, shout out to the OG)
But ok, maybe thats just bad impresions, does he improve later? Not really cause his whole gag stays this kinda creepy quasi incestious obssesion with Noah and idk, dont even wanna write about that part too much lol
But even if one just looks at it as a charachter trait with possible development, it leads nowhere, Gopher being static besides his final gag (which I admit is funny but also a bit ehh with the whole implication of what hes gonna do with 7 naked unconcious bodies...)
Still, one could say why am I'm expecting something out of a gag charachter? Just dont overthink it - maybe I wouldnt if Ohkubo didnt kinda setup a situation where it seemed there could be more to him, only to be just wasted panel time in the end:
What I mean is, the whole setup of him torturing and integoriating Kid - which seemed to be a perfect opportunity for charachter development for both of them - because they actually have some simmilarities:
Both are "created" and "reverant" to their Father-figure, both have unhealthy obssessions and both start throwing childish tantrums when things dont go their way. (also surface details like both seemingly being anime pretty boys appeiling to a specific demographic, with the dark hair and proper dress-code etc)
Yet all that didnt lead to anything - neither Gopher realised that his "master" is horrible compared to the other side, nor did it make Kid reflect about his own obssessions and how obnoxious and ridicolous he must look to others.
Neither was there anything about being sorta non human, "created" not born - but thats excusable cause that was revealed after the fact in Kids case.
Hell, still there could be even some strengthening of both sides negative traits, the tragedy of communication being impossible, but all lead just to an ok gag of Kids face being made unsymmetrical.
But also on a tangent, the whole "black wings" thing also just seems to be derivative - especially when the much stronger parallel of "angel vs demon" with black and white wings was between Maka and Crona, so yeah I think the whole obnoxious Maka and Gopher thing kinda deluded that meaning, but thats more of a pet peeve.
Still, to leave of not with just bitching, but an interesting thought, or atleast kinda funny in a stupid way (enough that I will prolly use it as filler in my iceberg videos):
So Gopher is a creation of Noah. But Noah is just one of seven other creations. Who are made by the Index, which is just a manifestation of a part of the Book of Eibon, which was written by the Wizard of the same name.
How many layers of being a tool is that?😂

So I watched Cursed by Light for the first time yesterday (even though I started watching sds circa 2017, I'm just late to the game🤪) and I have so many thoughts !! Might do more analysis later, but here's my initial thoughts
I NEED more Meliodas and Zeldris interactions like it is a NECESSITY
Elizabeth was so badass in this movie I love her and it made me want to see "Bloody Ellie" even more omg
On the topic of Elizabeth, I love her bc she's such a girls' girl. Like, find her a woman, and they will be besties. I mean Merlin, Diane, Elaine, Gelda, even Derieri - she's just such a girl lover !!
And it's pride month so legally, everyone has to agree with bi!Elizabeth... jk... kinda lol (honestly every single sin is queer in my head, im prohecting my queer onto all nnt char)
Cursed by Light DEFINITELY best movie like hands down
BUT I actually kinda wish that the Supreme deity plotline was part of the show rather than a one off movie
Like I want it as a season. I feel like her character had so much potential not only for cool plots and battles, not only for the resurrection of the goddess race and the problems that would cause, but also for Elizabeth's emotional and physical/power arc
Anyway I will be thinking of at least a half season to combat the SD, complete with flashback to and before the Holy War and Elizabeth defeating her mother with those famed goddess powers that the demon race was so afraid of
And of course, within this season would be lots of brother bonding, and a large amount of time set in the demon realm where we get to explore the society and world, along more with the demon bros' past as individuals and together
Meliodas atones for both his betrayal of his brother, and that of his people who he probably should have been protecting
Plus maybe some gowther (bc I love him) and original demon lore bc that would be cool

So I was listening to SMT V soundtrack again on Spotify and I was listening to Jouin High Theme and Tokyo Daybreak (song that plays when you are on map of "humanity's Tokyo") and it made me realize how pointless that elements of the game were. Like... Besides reporting to Bethel and talking with your classmates on rooftop or going to shrine (where you couldn't interact with almost anything anyways) you literally couldn't do anything there lol. Like sure, you unlocked Leiline Fount to Tokyo and you could techically go back there anytime you wanted even during main missions but it was pointless cause there wasn't anything to do there.
So yeah, while listening I got some ideas how this area and segment of the game could be improved and given its own flavor (and actually making us to use that Leiline Fount to Tokyo once in a while), without making it too much like a Persona:
[and before any hardcore SMT fans come at me with "so you just want another Persona game" a disclaimer that it was Atlus' idea at the first place to give us ability to come back home between acts and I'm just giving my ideas how could they improve this segment that is already in the game and again, it was already Atlus' idea to make it happen, not mine]
- I think this area of the game would improve greatly if we got some sort of a small shopping district in the humanity's Tokyo where you could buy HP/MP/battle items that you can't normally get in D'aat, and also we could have some sort of a demon that likes collecting human things like Collector Manikin was in Nocturne that could give us some quests to retrieve something from human's world for them in exhange for items and maybe we'd have to do actually something in human's world in order to retreive them (I can totally see the Trauma of Puzzle Boy: Electric Boogaloo happening lmaooo)
-In addition to point above: I can totally see a problem happening with: "okay SMT games are using Macca but in humanity's Tokyo they are probably still using Yen as money", so here's my idea of a solution of that problem: Either at that Collector Demon or Chironnupu, or in Gustave's Shop, you could have a "money exchanging service" feature where you could exchange Macca for Yen and the other way around, so you could buy the items in humanity's Tokyo as well
-okay that one is kind of a silly but: A demon rescue quests :P Like we could find and bring back to D'aat some not-so-bright demons or demonic kids that wandered to humanity's Tokyo and don't know how to come back. Example of a demon rescue quest: We would meet an adult Jack Frost in D'aat that is worried because his lil' Frostie hadn't returned home yet and he heard Frostie mentioning how he wants to see human's Tokyo before, so he would ask Nahobino to go look for him in human's world, and as a reward, he would agree to join his party etc. I think it could be a interesting use of this area as well.
-(This one is more my personal wish, not a gameplay idea I have) I wish we actually were able to explore Jouin Dorm fully, not just the rooftop. Imagine how much of a headcanon/fic potential we would have if we would be able to see V-kun's dorm room (like in the previous games we could see how Kazuya's room looked like in SMT I and also we saw some glimpse at Naoki's room in Nocturne's Freedom ending so I don't understand why we couldn't see V-kun's room as well) and/or other character's rooms - that way we could learn more about them just by being able to see what they keep in their rooms. Also I believe it would be a great opportunity for Atlus to hide some easter eggs to their previous games- like perhaps someone had some Phandom merch on their shelf, maybe V-kun had some drawings on his desk and one of them depicted Magatama from SMT III, maybe someone had manga with characters from Catherine on the cover etc etc. That is totally pointless idea gameplay wise but it would be cool for storytelling/worldbuilding or just headcanons/fics purposes in my opinion
Yeah, so that was just my ideas that in my opinion would improve "humanity's Tokyo" fragment of the game greatly, cause I think it was massive lost of a potential from Atlus's side. Hope you enjoyed my idea dump haha

Cause of Death Mark (idk how else to call this lmao): A red mark around her neck giving the appearance of a choker and where her blood flowed over her body left a long, red snake-like tattoo design that travels from the right side of her neck (where the knife cut her) to down her sternum, underneath her left breast and ending on her left side of her ribs.
Type of Demon: Sinner
Occupation: Self-established Yakuza Heiress/Drug Lord
Demon Appearance: Not much of a change from her normal appearance the only thing to change is the snake-like slit pupils in her eyes.
Enraged/Full Demon Form Appearance: VERY pale in comparison to her normal skin tone, her hair turns into snakes in a very Medusa-like way, she gains a forked tongue, and venomous snake fangs grow in her mouth.
Other Notes:
Her hair snakes can honestly manifest at any time, they’re incredibly sassy/snarky and will shit-talk anyone and everyone lol.
When Mukuro begins to get angry, what sounds like a lot of snakes hissing will begin to sound and it’s hard to tell if it’s her, her hair, or both (it’s always both lol)
When Mukuro woke up in Hell after the last thing she could remember was having her throat slit, she wasn’t too surprised at that. She honestly kind of expected to end up here when she died.
What Mukuro found the most upsetting was the fact that she had to essentially start at the bottom of the food chain again. Although she wouldn’t mope about it for long, because of how resourceful and determined she is, Mukuro quickly began to devise a plan on how to move up in ranks.
Because of her vast knowledge of venoms, Mukuro was able to quickly realize that the venom she produced could be turned into a rather addictive drug, opting to call the drug “ Love Bite “ with the pills being printed with a small snake taking the shape of a heart, embracing the snake-theme she woke up with.
Rather than making the drug as potent as can be right away, she’d make a sort of watered-down version to begin with to get demons hooked and wanting more. From there she’d sell them a slightly more potent version BUT if they wanted the full potency then she’d have a deal to offer them; either give her their power and make sure that no harm could come to her and she’d give them an endless supply of the full potent drug with the possibility of an even powerful drug should she make some, free of charge.
That is the type of deal that was typically offered to the rather powerful demons, or those who she thinks have quite the bit of potential, that would come seeking the fully potent drug.
Mukuro will also tweak the formula from time to time, experimenting with how potent she can make it, how addictive she could make it, or just enhance or add any other aspects of it. For the most part, the drug just gives a full body and mind high but there are times when it can be used as an aphrodisiac/general pleasure enhancement drug.
As she collected contracts, Mukuro would eventually build up her own “yakuza” like family, since it was a structure she knew rather well, running it wouldn’t pose much of a problem for her.
Those who know that Mukuro is the one that’s behind this new drug are those who’d be immediately below her chain of command after her/the more powerful demons she made deals/contracts with. Other than them, her true identity is unknown and most just assume she’s a runner for the demon(s) behind the drug.
The discreet way that Mukuro shows she’s the mastermind behind the drug is the little charm of the drug’s logo on the sternum chain of her body chain.

OC/Writing Art Asks (that I created lol)
Colored Pencil: if given the choice, would this character splurge on an expensive (but potentially worthwhile) branded product, or buy a low-budget alternative even if the quality suffers?
Low-budget by far. She's been under the poverty line almost her entire life, and is more used to having to skip meals because she can't afford them than even thinking about name-brand products. Even once she has a little more money to spare, it's still hard for her to give any thought to quality instead of just necessity.
Eraser: what's one way this character has changed over time? Either over the course of their story, or over the course of designing them as an author.
Oooooh now she's an interesting one for this question. Big ramble incoming...
When I first designed her back in 2021, Nikoletta was a very different character. She still met Abner back in Belle Reve, she still operated at the Queen of Belle Reve and had partially contact-based powers, and she still got her powers from STAR Labs at about the same time Abner did.
However, her powers were completely different, and they were much more lethal. Originally, she was given this sort of nightmare-illusion power, where anybody who looked her directly in the eyes or touched her skin-to-skin would experience a waking nightmare that inevitably ended in a brain bleed/aneurysm.
However, some people were mysteriously immune to her powers, with no apparent pattern to them. This would be a big mystery for a while, until it was finally revealed that her powers caused people to imagine unspeakable mental trauma until their brains overloaded, and the people who were immune were the ones who had already experienced extreme trauma in their lives and had learned to process it without being overwhelmed- like war vets, or some of the metahumans in Belle Reve with particularly tragic backstories.
Her appearance also changed quite a bit. Part of her abilities included a sort of demonic appearance to most people, and the ones who were immune to her powers were also immune to that illusion, and could see her for how she looked before she was sent to STAR Labs.
The one other detail I had that changed is that while in the final version of her story, Nikoletta escapes STAR Labs years before Abner burns it down and only realizes much later that their time there overlapped, the original version of the story had them interact much more while in STAR Labs and escape at the same time. The idea was that they were friends while they were there, would talk through the vents and try to comfort each other through the experimentation, but they never learned each others' names or met face-to-face.
Then it would be a reveal in Corto Maltese, they're in the jungle talking about STAR Labs, and Nikoletta pulls up her sleeve to reveal a burn scar on her arm in a perfect circle (where she was singed by one of the polka dots when Abner burned down the lab), which leads to them realizing they'd actually met years before and didn't know it.
In the end, I changed up her powers to "ground" her a little more. I wanted her powers to be more dangerous on reputation than on actual ability (i.e. how her shadows themselves don't actually hurt people at all, she just builds so much reputation around them while in Belle Reve that they seem dangerous), and I thought having her interact with Abner in STAR Labs just... didn't line up as well as I wanted it to, the more I thought about it. I think the original version of her character was cool, and still fit with the other metahumans in the DC universe, but her final version feels much more dynamic and human to me.
Palette: list four of your character's primary skills, then share at least two ways these skills might blend or overlap
She's great at keeping her emotions in check when assessing a problem, manipulating social situations, breaking down a problem into manageable facets, and generating mystique around herself.
All of these skills were built from her becoming the Queen of Belle Reve and generating her reputation there. Manipulating social situations and generating mystique was how she was able to take that mantle to begin with and turn her relatively harmless powers into something that could keep the whole prison in line. Keeping her emotions in check and breaking down problems are what helped her maintain that persona in the long-term, since it allowed her to keep that position of power and quell dissent in a way that kept most of the other prisoners in her favor.

Omg, do you think V1 collects the parts of other machines? Like he just yoinks V2's arms with no problem, so what if it spent time trying to modify the parts to potentially power itself up more? Or maybe they just collect them like a morbid rock collection 🤔
YES i have little headcanons about this that i've never really talked about, and first is the idea that v1 has some very unique code with regard to harvesting - because v1 has blood-absorbing plates unlike that of any other machine, it actually has specific programming to discourage harvesting as no parts it gathers would have this property and would be incompatible with it besides. however, in its current corrupted state, that piece of code couldn't adequately prevent it from noticing this behavior in other machines and replicating it for itself when it was met with v2, but only because it was able to recognize v2 as something like itself. there was plenty of confusion and frustration on its end when it realized v2's arm couldn't collect blood on contact, this anti-harvesting code causing it particular grief...but when the knuckleblaster turns out to be highly useful in its combat, it feels quite clever for the theft it managed to pull off. this doesn't translate into it attempting to steal more parts though - that harvesting-safeguard remains in place and means v1 continues to ignore other machines, only circumventing the code once more when it meets v2 for a second time and gains the whiplash out of it with a resulting similar cycle (annoyance that it doesn't absorb blood, satisfaction when it proves useful) it continues to observe how other machines modify themselves and it can recognize it has done so itself to a certain extent, but it can't make the connection to augmenting its own body to more extremes.
however, i do like the idea that v1 has a sort of. "homing instinct", code that would cause it to return to base when it completed missions or when it needed repairing...which with its degraded software in its own hell expedition causes it to establish an arbitrary "base". it's basically a little nest it has somewhere in hell that it goes back to occasionally to reset or to repair if it needs it, or even just to rest, and THIS is where it begins to start a little collection. some of it is more innocent, just things it found interesting to look at (that it cycles through, tossing them out of its base when it gets bored with them) but most of it is parts of husks, demons, and machines that it absolutely does treat like a morbid rock collection lol v1 is based entirely in violence and it wants to be surrounded by violence even as it rests, so it harvests random parts from its kills to bring back to its base. it takes anything, whatever pieces that strike it at the time, and sets them up around its "bed" in relatively neat collections. they're mostly for display and similar to everything else in its acquisition, it sometimes throws things out to be replaced by something more interesting (new enemies, particularly interesting kills, etc), but it likes to hold them sometimes and it would be PISSED if anything ever went missing.
it also eventually brings everything it has to the little apartment it starts sharing with gabriel in fraud lol

Oh there is so much potential for these guys to be responsible for all kinds of stuff from human history. I love the idea of Lucifer being like I’m bored and going to the human world, replacing the monarch of some country with himself, and just ruling it for a while.
I mean the boys have been demons for a while in the OG I really can’t believe that they haven’t spent some time messing with humanity. I’d be like okay come clean tell me how much chaos you’ve caused throughout human history, please.
I do see Beel feeling bad about starting a plague though. Like it was probably an accident. And MC is just scolding him like do you know how many humans died??
Personally, I think Asmo was probably involved in the Helen of Troy incident. And I like to think Satan was part of the French Revolution. And you know Mammon was there for the Boston Tea Party like they were protesting taxes lol. I kinda like the idea that they only need to be there for their sin to be felt and affect people. Maybe they didn’t start anything specific but things got more intense just because they were there.
But I could also see them deliberately causing problems for the human world. They are demons after all.

Honestly, Ive been meaning to write something about Helluva Boss for a while and uh. I'm in that Writing Mood. So here, have some quick rambles about my thought on HB and worldbuilding and stuff
They'll be under the cut just in case I write too much lol
The way HB fails [hard] with being what it wants to be
First things first: I am not a professional writer at all. I'm just some dog who can write for fun.
Ok. That's out of the way, cool!
So... Helluva Boss, amirite? I think the frustration a lot of detractors/critics have over it (and frankly, I'm amongst these) is how much *potential* it has. It exudes it, and like, if you read 5 different HB rewrites, they will all grab different stuff and run with it, because there's many, many things to tinker with that, in the hands of a well planning writer, could make the series just. Brilliant!
But, let's be real, the series doesn't do that. I'm not original in saying this but, from a plot perspective, HB sucks. It falls flatter than a metal sheet (is that a phrase?) And, hypocritically, it's obvious how Viv prides herself as writing it as revolutionary in ways that the story doesn't even (and forgive me for this) have the balls to be in.
It prides itself in having raw portrayals of queer folks, yet it only lets itself write the same overused "gay ppl + sex = funni" jokes over and over again, it goes and compares it's protagonist Blitz to Bojack Horseman, yet in Helluva Boss the plot bends itself backwards to lift any sort of responsibility that Blitz has for his actions (which is, y'know, NOT what BH does, at all), prides itself of being a female centered plot even though it's obvious how underdeveloped the female characters are compared to the male ones. I could go on and on.
And, in the most sincere, nice way I can conjure, this isn't just the creator being a hypocrite, this is straight-up a symptom of what I think dooms not only this series, but most of the works Vivziepop has done: The story of the thing doesn't know what the fuck it wants to be
Helluva boss is, at least in theory, supposed to be a dark comedy about demon hitmen. Simple concept, lots of stuff to tinker and play with! A lot of ways and directions to take it to, too. But then it tries to be a musical every few episodes. And then a family drama. Sometimes it's an episodic story and sometimes it tries very hard to fit into a season-long arc, depending on the mood. It gives characters some sort of growth just to take it away, and then give them another sort of growth. It defangs and villanizes it's antagonists in a way you just can't help but feel bad for them, because it takes away what made them interesting. The protagonists fuck up and the plot let's you know they fucked up, but then... The consequences of their actions never come!
Blitzo indirectly causes permanent scarring, disability , and trauma on his childhood friend and it causes such a rift that they don't talk in fifteen years, but it's fine! Look! Fizz forgives him in the span of a day after a little chat and now they're friends again :] don't think about it at all :] this is perfectly A-OK and totally not a way of making our poor little Blitzy a victim and Fizz the cunt for not forgiving him until now :]]]
Don't get me started on Barbiewire
Helluva Boss biggest sin is not it's lack of character growth, or it's dumb sex jokes (they ARE bad btw. I'm dying on that hill), or any of that sort. There's many good shows that can pull stuff like that and still be, y'know, good. Or at least mid. It's greatest mistake it's in the way that not only doesn't know what to do with itself, but also wants to do everything without understanding why and how to do it. To bite more that you can chew, if you know.
I have way too many thoughts and criticisms around this funky web series, and I'll probably do more rambles around this specific problem. But I think this is it for me and for now

Hi! (It's me again back to bother you with more spn questions) Are there any characters from spn that you didn't like that much or thought were overrated?
hello, beloved!! you aren't bothering me; i love your asks!
honestly, these days, i'm pretty chill regarding characters. i very rarely hate characters, i mostly just appreciate them for what they have to offer. i have favourites, of course, but i generally just accept characters as they are (and lament lost potential lol). so, i'm going to turn the question around and talk about how i think sam is massively overhated and underrated (only in the online fandom though; i'm pretty sure this isn't the case with the general audience). warning for an oncoming rant!
certain individuals' dislike of sam is at once incomprehensible to me and completely predictable. because i don’t understand how anyone could come to the logical conclusion that sam is boring, but i’m not at all surprised. i’m not saying they’re necessarily similar characters, but it’s kind of like people calling steve rogers from the mcu "bland" (my mcu knowledge is rusty forgive me if i say something stupid). like, no, you just hate optimists and nice people? you don’t have to like him, but don’t act like it’s not just a personal preference. funny thing is, sam and steve have something similar going on in their stories. both are good people who try to make the best of their circumstances: sam tries to use his demon blood “curse” for something good; steve tries to remain a force of good in a corrupt, grey world. and that’s interesting as hell!! unfortunately, both will always be overshadowed because they’re not smart-mouthed assholes (even though sam is sassy…) who default to treating people dickishly. and, worst of all, neither of them consider decapitation a good time and therefore cannot fulfil edgelord fantasies
ah yes, sam – no killing others (before resurrection in s2) even if it causes problems, monsters can be good and sexually attractive, veggie bacon but demon blood is acceptable on occasion, using evil powers for good, vessel of Satan who prays to God every day – winchester is uninteresting and boring, but a violent pessimist with daddy issues who kills monsters to unleash ✨️ the darkness inside ✨️ and a celestial being who doesn’t understand human customs or emotions or free will but comes to fight on the side of humanity are ground-breaking. i love dean and i like cas – i think they’re good, and i'm not saying this to throw hate at them – but acting like they’re amazing while sam sucks is just… really? people, regarding every form of media – music, films, books etc. etc. – conflate “shallow” with “not dark,” and i’m so tired of it
i have absolutely no issue with people preferring other characters for whatever reasons, or even for no real reason at all, but outright calling sam boring??! speaking on him with utterly tragically bad takes in an attempt to denigrate his name and proving only that you don't understand him at all?!? you are all tasteless imbeciles and should be ashamed of yourselves

Hey Cin, So... I kept debating as an introvert whether or not to come onto the Big T. But I am a long time enthusiast of your work (since your S2 contest and S2 story days.) and wanted to join Triple R. (The Raven Simone pic is a good look for the club Avatar LOL.)
I, as many of the rest of us were not expecting you to do a Stephen King and "Kill your little Darlings" well... not specifically El who I felt was a more complex character (literally) at least so far than Jayce (IMHO) because he like several of your characters had potential for redemption even when he took that dark turn. Yes, I know not every character has to be dark and twisty with continued problems.
But case in point: I noted how quick the anger blazed up toward Elliot but Darren is lauded for his turn around and growth even after he *also* put hands to Indya in the early days of their relationship... now granted he didn't put her lights out like Hope, but came close. Elliot was that ride or die friend (like Darren.) that Hope didn't even have with her girls (that I could tell.) and even helped to find her when she ran away. But with the good doctors help, breakthroughs regarding Sean, an absent mother and love could have possibly changed El like Darren to a grizzled happy middle aged healed OG with a family. But, it's unfortunately not to be.
I do also wonder with the way these events went down if Darren and Indya remember this side of himself? Even though that was past Darren and not Daddy of 3 and Uncle of 1 Darren?

We get into it...
First of all, those sims 2 model contests where the best thing to ever happen to me in the early 2gs okay? WHERE ARE THEY NOW? That's when I learned how to use hair brushes in photoshop AND "frankensim". But I digress....
Elliot's death was not something I took lightly. I was VERY attached to him. I made him from scratch in CAS as a child *specifically* for Hope. That was her bestie, first crush, first love, first kiss. He was *MADE* for her and I really do mean that literally. It took at least 2 weeks to even come to terms with the idea and up until the last screenshot of that fateful day on the pier was taken, I was still not convinced I would do it. It was a test as a writer: to do something so drastic to an OC that it torments you. It hurt.
The reason everyone jumped on Elliot was because of *how* he chose to do it (I was angry with my DAMN self, but it couldn't happen another way in my head). LIke you said, he "put her lights out". He squeezed her neck so hard, with the most powerful part of his arm, and caused so much internal damage, it kept her in the hospital for two weeks (there is symbolism to this that I won't disclose just yet).
He absolutely had the potential to grow and be redeemed just like Darren did and Darren had far more demons than simply a lost love (he had that too, though, with Sherrita). Darren lost whole family members. Elliot was without a mother. Darren was without a mother. This is where, I believe, the parallels end.
I truly believe that Darren and Indya remember the days when abuse was a regular occurence. Indya had the same bruises from being lifted up by the neck by Darren that Hope now has after being.... (wait for it...)

Lest we forget....
Key difference here: Darren was abusive. Elliot was not physically abusive (that we know of) until the argument with Hani that led him down a spiral that would ultimately take his life.
I'll end with this (because the Ratchet Readers™ may have some nuances I'm not seeing) While Darren and Indya might remember those days, they choose to live in the present where blessings are abundant, the soil is fertile and the growth is perrenial. I believe that *everyone* has that capacity which is why I always say that this story is ultimately about growth. The plot is growth. The arcs are growth. All of it. So I absolutely believe Elliot could have grown to the OG status that Darren now is. The reality is that, some just don't get there, even with the capacity to grow inherently a part of them.

InuKag has continued to hold a place, but late summer/fall Joshua Belaira/Kai Harn snuck in lol As far as I know it's a nonexistent ship that doesn't even have a fun name, but I think the appeal is similar to InuKag for me. Like, they're both idiots, and it's just fun to write.
10 - What fic made you feel the happiest to work on?
I want to say By the Book, once I figured out my problems with the setting. I really enjoyed writing Nailed It and it felt very easy to fall back into writing in that AU again.

Kagome looked up at him again, and he felt his mouth go dry. She still looked like she could do with another day’s rest, but damn she was still pretty to look at. “I really appreciate it sir; I’ll do my best to have my paper completed in time, of course.”
“Of course. I know you’ve got this,” he smiled. Under the desk his dick pulsed against his thigh, begging for attention. Kagome unknowingly had gotten something else, but he wasn’t about to let her know that. He was doing good to not let his leg bounce and shake the desk. “If you do find that you need help, you’re welcome to send me a message or meet me after class. I’ll do whatever I can to make sure you have what you need, Miss Higurashi.”
There was a tiny flush of red in her cheeks, and Inuyasha wasn’t sure that was a returning fever. ‘Oh? Does Kagome have dirty thoughts?’That was a fascinating discovery. He hadn’t meant for his offer to help her to come off sounding suggestive, but it appeared that she was letting her thoughts wander.
Before he could say anything and potentially embarrass himself further, Kagome stood from her seat. “Thank you again, Mr. Taisho. I really appreciate the time you’ve taken to help me today.”
“Anytime, Miss Higurashi.” Inuyasha slowly stood, hoping that he wasn’t sticking up where she could see. As a precaution, he pressed his hips against the edge of the desk as he leaned forward to shake her hand. ‘Fuck that hurts!’ The tip was currently being pinched between his hip bone and the desk edge, but at least it was hidden.
