Can someone explain to me why should Dyana care about her rapist’s children ??

TG care more Aegon being “ruined” than a rape victim. Disgusting freaks. They hate that Dyana will have screen time but it’s primarily because it might divert people’s attention from B&C and reminds them what Aegon and Alicent did to her.

Dyana is only 16 years old. The scene between her and Alicent is one of the most chilling, sickening, cruel, hard to watch scenes in the entire show. Not only she was raped, she has to sit on the floor with her head lowered and beg for forgiveness. She was UTTERLY traumatized and broken (to the point I thought she probably killed herself), and then, Alicent subtly scared her into silence. TG won’t admit that Dyana was raped precisely because Alicent hides Aegon’s crimes, refuses to punish him & it enables him to continue.

I do hope that Maddie Evans (who is still a minor!) will stay away from social media if her character ends up being involved in B&C. Some psychos won’t resist harassing and telling her repugnant things like that one person did to Lynne Smith until she blocked them.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that we should not care if someone doesn't care about children's safety, since those kids are innocent of their father's cruelty. But I'd place blame on Aegon if Dyana were to be a part of it. Through his, Daemon's, Alicent/Otto's actions, this day will come for those kids no matter what.

At the same time and more importantly, you are right about what I think you are saying, which is that we shouldn't totally ignore what Dyana went through. Just for the sake of a fucking rapist man! Why should we burden the rape victim with doing a moral good or restrict her from trying to get back a semblance of control before we hold Aegon accountable for the rape--is not rape one of the most egregious evils a person can do?! When Alicent also refused to give the girl proper justice, thus making her even more helpless & (likely) desperate, thus giving context as to why she would participate?

Someone reminded us that moontea, also, was extremely dangerous, both from Lysa Tully and from episode 4 when the maester gives Rhaenyra the tea & explains its properties. Dyana then, also, was in danger of losing her life! We don't know if Alicent had the tea "properly" brewed.

Remember what happened to Joffrey Baratheon's actor, how he was basically bullied off of acting even though he was stunning?! Ugh!

Comments on House of The Dragon s01e06

Alicent Hightower

I saw a tweet saying that Alicent is like those girls that have a kid right after high school so she had to marry the father of their kid so their youth, and grew resentful because their high school friends go on to college and live their best lives. Basically "you got to live everything I wanted to but Couldn't, so now I hate u" kinda of stuff and now I can't thing otherwise

Otto started te job and Alicent continue, If it wasn't for her and her resent towards Rhaenyra everything would be different. A lot of people wouldn't died.

And what's worst is that until this point or until they start to take a son for a son, Rhaenyra didn't hate Alicent or her kids, all by contrary.

In fact, I believe all this episode was about the construction of Alicent as the villain of the show for now. But she ain't the only villain...

I already hate her hypocrite and resentful ass.

Rhaenyra and Laenor

I like their relationship after all. Rhaenyra continue to be the hero of the story and Emma did such a amazing job portraying Rhaenyra feelings only with her gaze. She didn't needed much to show the power and dominance of the princess, something that we could see in the council scene where Rhaenyra dominates.

Something that was good to see after her humiliating scene where she had to drag herself so Alicent could judge the baby.

Poor Laenor, we saw he still resentful towards Criston in one lil scene in the beginning of the episode, rightfully so, and by the promo of next episode I think he will fight against Criston after all and maybe Criston will be the one to murder or severally injury him. I would be surprised if the show goes nuts again the Criston murder the king with consequences for his actions

Laena and Daemon

I like how they give Daemon the same choice they gave Viserys in the first episode. And it seems that different than Viserys, Daemon didn't choose the child over his wife or he simple refused to choose.

I really enjoy Vhagar and Laena little moment before the final Dracarys. It was like Vhagar wanted to know for sure that that's was what Laena really wanted and than did what her master command.

But I don't know, it feels of Laena died like that, It didn't seems to be some "you die or your die" situation, or she dying asking to go out in flames instead of go out in a bed. Like Bjorn did in Vikings.

The Strongs

Lyonel Strong was such a honorable man. He really is like Ned Stark but smarter.

I still don't get Larys, like plotting against his whole family? He is the reason why the Strong House no longer exists after the Dance. He really shows to be just a egoistic man who doesn't care about his own family and House legacy

I will watch Sor Harwin beating the shit outta Criston everytime I feel sad. Also, he would make a far better fight instructor than Criston

Criston Cole

What a cunt! What a asshole! Piece of shit excuse of a man. It's been 10 fucking years. Get over your incel freak. Can wait to see you die, and I hope the show give us this cathartic moment soon enough

The Kids

No much to say here other than Aegon II being a asshole and will become evil because of his mother. The same goes to Aemond.

The kids didn't hate each other, Alicent made them hate each other

Final Critic

I thought they were doing things fast because this all we've saw until episode 5 was really just a prequel to the dance but now that we already change actresses and all, yet they are still running.

Nothing big or something, is just that even tho the actors did a amazing job portraying a 10year story in 10 minutes, I really would like to see more of Rhaenyra and Harwin or Laena and Daemon, or even Laena with Rhaenyra

2. How did you find out about or discover it?

i'd seen the movie before and when the trailer came out i thought it looked really good so it was on my radar before it came out. but the reason i actually started watching was that i was disappointed in house of the dragon bc daemon and rhaenyra weren't a toxic enough couple when they actually got together and i wanted to watch some toxic romance. lol

ok long version of the story! (sorry if you don't care about hotd lol)

i was really excited about hotd after the trailers started coming out and like the freak i am, i was especially excited to see the insane uncle/niece incest grooming go from gross to fun when they eventually marry and fight a war and everything goes wrong and they're both crazy and toxic and evil. that's my idea of a good time. this shot from the trailer in particular had me excited for this dynamic:

and the beginning was so promising, their scenes when she's still a teenager played by the younger actress milly alcock are very intriguing! creepy but intriguing.

but then episode 7 happens. i knew ahead of time that the plot of the episode was that daemon's wife has just died and at her funeral he fucks his niece, as you do, and then suddenly rhaenyra's husband also dies and they get married for succession war reasons without permission from her father the king who would fucking hate this. insane sequence of events! and i'd heard that the marriage ceremony was going to be valyrian rites with blood and stuff. for the uninitiated, valyrian refers to the (mostly) lost civilization of blond people who ride dragons and do incest and they're rumored to have done blood magic and stuff. so i had high hopes for this whole valyrian marriage rites scene. a blood sacrifice? some animal or...? an altar with LOTS of blood! their dragons take to the air! they should fuck on the bloody altar while their dragons fuck in the air! either way the visuals will be insane and amazing!

yeah, so the episode airs. and i'm BORED. they made this shit boring somehow. the dialogue is bad and so is the directing. they have a bland conversation about their respective marriages and then have some tepid sex. it just doesn't look like they're that into it even. was that intentional? i cant tell. other more interesting stuff happens and then close to the end of the ep shes like uncle i need you so i can win the eventual war that everyone knows is going to be break out so we should get married. hes like hmm ok. but shes already married so they fake her husband's death so he can sail into the sunset with his boyfriend. toxicity and evilness toned down as much as possible. then they marry and the valyrian ritual is just like. fine. no dragons. they cut their palms so there is blood. if i saw it without prior expectations i'd probably think it was kinda cool but i had built it up in my head to be way cooler so.

in the next episode they kinda just act like a normal couple. despite the whole incest age gap uncle niece grooming shit. i wanted them to be screaming. i am sad about it.

im on tumblr and i see a post with a jacob anderson quote saying iwtv is basically a show about a married couple slamming doors on each other. i'd seen some gifs and ofc i'd seen the trailer months ago but this makes me go !!!!! THIS could be the toxic marriage i was looking for! i go watch it immediately. two episodes have aired so far but it only took me one to fall in love! new obsession unlocked! louis de pointe du lac is my truest love!

at that point im barely able to give half a shit about hotd anymore, i dont even watch the last two eps until days or weeks later. (in the last episode daemon and rhaenyra do get more interesting as they have some tension over him acting like he's in charge even though she's the queen and he's just her consort. he also strangles her a bit when he gets upset, which is very unsurprising from a misogynistic violent man who murdered his first wife (of 3) but some people were shocked. insert iwtv comparison here.) (i've also rewatched hotd with new eyes recently and enjoyed those episodes a lot more when i didnt have my own expectations clouding everything. i WOULD recommend the show for anyone who thinks family drama leading to a literal war feat. dragons sounds like a fun time. it is good and hopefully will be continue to be! also that quote from the showrunner saying daemon wanted to marry his brother and his niece was the closest he could get to was fucking life changing. ryan condal said gay targcest rights. also rhaenicent<3)

anyway iwtv becomes my #1 obsession from episode one and has stayed that way ever since!

finally finished hotd season 1 and I have so many thoughts!!! not going to bother pointing out the characterization issues and opt for positive notes instead!!

- loved Alicent, you can see she's actively engaging in violence now when she instructs Larys to get rid of Mysaria. i love the devotion that Criston has towards her, it's the epitome of Arthurian courtly love™

- loved Rhaenys, not a fan of her stomping on all the innocent commoners though... im impressed by how devoted she is to Corlys considering all the crap he put her through

- loved Rhaenyra. I've always considered myself to be critical of her and still do, but you gotta give credit where credit is due. She literally had to go through the trauma of losing her father, miscarrying and personally wrapping up her baby and then start planning for the war. I was never a fan of her relationship with Daemon because as far as I'm concerned she's a victim of grooming, so it pleases me that she finally sees him for what he is. I hate that he's still going to put her through worse :(

- am not a Rhaenicent shipper but not gonna lie, they're looking like the best option besides Corlys and Rhaenys. the two women are giving HBIC energy and im here for it

- so freaking excited to see the Starks come in!!!! let's gooooo

- poor baby Luke :( honestly thought he was a lil shit but obviously that doesn't mean he deserves to die. Children are still children :(

- AEMOND YOU DUMB SHIT :(( im gonna have to love you from a distance now that you're a war criminal. i mean i knew you'd be one but it still hurts

- can't wait for total chaos to break next season

- PSA: Dragons are the nuclear war version of cats. My cat is barely 7lbs and she's such a bitch when she's in a mood. Never provoke or assume you have full control!!

I just want to remind everybody, that it was Otto Hightower who recommended to Viserys to name Rhaenyra his heir( only to be able to say later that people will never accept a woman as the ruler; and did his moves previously to compromise Daemon to do that) ...and then he sends his own daughter to seduce the king, arranges their marriage, so she could produce a male successor (so he can tell his daughter that Rhaenyra will kill her children, so Alicent have no other option only to prepare for a fight)

So it was his plan all along and all that bullsh*t that he truly cares about the kingdom and wants what is the best....

Well, duh! for himself!

But, it doesn't change the fact that Alicent choose to bring him back when she could be free of him

Or that she's not the best mother, especially to her firstborn whom she raised in hate and pressure

She so hard tries to hold on to the illusion that Viserys names Aegon before his death and totally ignores even her own knowledge of her son's character and ways. Is she really convinced that her oldest is better choice for poor unfortunate people of Seven Kingdoms?

And you can say that she surrounded by a lot of awful people, but it is She who choose to leave them by her side:

Larys, lover of burning houses to the ground with people inside with help of his tongueless team, and she's involved in his fetish stuff after all of her righteousness hypocrite bullsh*t

and Criston Cole who seems getting last stage of Tourette's syndrome every time there's a talk about Rhaenyra for the last 20 years (get tf over it, dude!) and pours out his hate on children (really knightly). And he's now focusing his affection on Alicent, but if you analyze his behaviour from the start he has a psychology of a stalker really with his fixations

And also, isn't anybody bothered by the fact that it's his second (as far as we've seen) public murder of high lord commited with no excusable reason that remains unpunished but rather rewarded

Props to her for not wanting to kill Rhaenyra on the council, but other than that she did a lot of sh*t... So I still see her as a Cersei but more stupid and self-righteous with a little more conscience (yet)...maybe she's not quite there yet, but she goes that derection

They try to make her likable, but if you see what crimes she's allowed to happen by someone else's hands when it benefits her and be over judgy towards Rhaenyra out of jealousy and envy for so long. Which is what leads to the tragical domino falls. And her tries to make some peace with Rhaenyra at the last moment is also a form of self-deception. She f***ed up her relationship with Rhaenyra, she f***ed up her own children, she f***ed up herself by surrounding herself with murders, freaks and scums. She's pity, but I have no mercy for her, she's already gone too far and after finale she clearly will have to go further

“Mushroom!” Daemon screamed angrily, as pushed the dwarf away from them.

The little man simply laughed as he let go of his aunt’s leg at once and and clapped his hands happily. But Dameon was not amused.

“If I ever catch you spying on us again, you will become Caraxes’ next meal! Got that?” He threatened. “And my father will hear about this as well.”

“My apologies, prince. But I am drawn to your aunt as a bee to a flower!” He yelled happily as he shook his hat. “Now let me say hello to the beautiful princess.”

Mushroom’s deformed face looked intently at Rhaenyra’s as he studied her up and down. He had a malicious smile on his face.

“I welcome you back to King’s Landing, my princess.” Mushroom said.

Rhaenyra smiled at the dwarf, but her smile did not reach her eyes.

“Should I see you spying on my nephew and I again, Mushroom, and you will no longer have any reason to smile about. Now go before I throw you out the window.” Rhaenyra said.

Daemon looked at both his aunt and the fool. A small part of him felt almost bad for the dwarf. That was until he remembered that he had once stolen his small clothes.

i have hated each and every piece of commentary they did so far post show. it’s like they are commenting on an entirely different episode from the one that just aired. matt and emma have always been adamant on the fact that there’s real love between daemon and rhaenyra and tbh i trust them (and ryan) more given that miguel is leaving anyway. i can see that daemon’s initial plan was to cause wreck and havoc as usual but matt clearly played it as if daemon realizes midway how much he cares actually for rhaenyra and freaks out and goes away. that’s the beauty of a morally grey character.

Yeah I definitely agree with this interpretation, I think there is genuine love and connection there and it being reduced to simply “he’s trying to control her” just…..doesn’t really vibe with what I saw on the screen. I haven’t watched any of the other “inside the episode” things just because I’m pretty used to the show runners of these series saying stupid shit, but I happened to see some quotes from this episode’s, and I wasn’t a fan of what was said.

I try really hard to just ignore things like this, I really do. Then I end up seeing something so bad it makes me upset.

I mean the sheer audacity, the entitlement to believe a gay ship should be turned het and it’s alright. No, it’s not, it will never ever be. Shut the hell up and be tired in ofc/character, si, reader crap. Stop trying to turn gay ships into your gross het agenda.

Then bring in all sorts of crappy reasoning, atrocious lies to justify your bull takes. It’s astounding the amount of nonsense that can come out of homophobic writers when they are called out for their crap.

the homophobic/self insert awful genderbent writers are saying its self insert in their notes, they want to get done in by the dominant male, have his babies or whatever nauseating crap is they want and you have weird freaks defending them.

Who the hell is femharry? who is that? While we are it, how come these lies, bull takes vanish in FF, FM stories?

Where are Male wednesday/male enid stories, or one of them male other female. Where are male rhaenyra’s, female daemon’s, ff, fm stories? where the hell are male rey’s and femkyle ron stories? male know it all and her malfoy brat stories, female darkling and male alina, both fem, both males? nah, this special distinction, need only ever exists for MM ships. even writing this makes me uncomfortable.
