honestly i guess it's a good thing larian "toned down" the more "disagreeable' parts of the companions personalities from EA (even though I really liked that aspect) bc some of yall are so brainpoisoned on things being Correct and Good all the time that if it's not fucking blues clues you lose your shit

the only "I think larian should" thing I genuinely agree with is they need to give karlach and wyll as much content as their pet twink & they especially need to rework wyll's arc and quests to actually be about him. fanfic can only fix so much and we are not letting them off the hook for treating their two poc origins as lowest priorities. <3

im almost certain that wyll's content was probably halved almost because of the fact that they ended up cutting the upper city as an area for us to explore but it's really stupid that they can't remix some of the dialogue or something to give him more content. surely they had some of it recorded already. and like why doesn't his dad have anything to say about your relationship with him??

i love wyll so much. i wish they'd figure out a way to put some of his content back that they cut.

Love the idea of astarion doing nice things for wyll. I think once the reality sets in that romance is encouraged and reciprocated and they can both get a little silly with it astarion is like. No please let me help you fasten your cloak before we leave. Is that puddle bothering you grand duke ravengard? I'll lay my coat over it so you don't have to get your shoes wet. And it's partially because he just wants to do right by him but partially because the theatrics are fun to play around with. I feel like they play around a lot. Wyll needs to get swept off his feet and have his own wellbeing be prioritized by the people in his life. And he'd love the pagaentry of it, how could he dare say no to gestures of kindness out of selflessness when objectively the idea of Astarion helping him take his armor off after a tough battle and slowly dabbing away at his wounds seems to be right out of a fairytale. It's so sweet wyll gets a toothache thinking about it. Yeah

Gale - Kate Bush (bc he loves her style and he loves women)

Astarion - Depeche Mode (duh)

Shadowheart - The Cure (mostly their darker stuff)

Lae’zel - Joy Division (bc all of their stuff is dark)

Karlach - Pet Shop Boys (hehe)

Wyll - Tears for Fears (he would love that their songs are dark jams)

Halsin - New Order (for the bops)

It may end up being an impossible feat for me because i tend to play in a neutral good sort of way, but I really hope that on my first playthrough of BG3 I'll be able to successfully befriend all of the Early Access companions and not have them leave me cause they hate my decisions. I'm attached to all of them.

I know Astarion/Gale is popular and I don't hate it. It's fun to imagine Astarion teasing and flustering Gale, bringing his high-mindedness a little closer to earth, and also for Astarion to have a conquest that will not immediately trip at his feet, feed into his worst instincts, or fall for his manipulation.

But I definitely prefer Astarion/Wyll. It's the monster/monster hunter thing, sure, but they're also similarly damaged, achingly romantic, and have rather sweet interactions throughout the game. It's just that Wyll is only 24, inexperienced, and painfully sincere. While Astarion is living with 200yrs of the worst experiences and buried any sincerity he had under a million layers of affectation.

i dont even consider myself a 'veteran' wyll fan considering i just played the game on release and not EA but so many fans of bg3 didn't even consider or look Wyll's way until Wyll fans got loud enough but like. the way he's acknowledged now (even as minimal as it is) vs the first few months post release really is jarring

gale is a masochist. he loves when tav takes charge and tells him what to do, and uses him for their own pleasure while talking down to him. he does like praise but he loves being told that he's barely worthy of their time let alone their pleasure.

wyll is not on either extreme of s&m. he likes being in charge and telling tav what to do, but in a gentle soft dom way. you can be sadistic to him, but he does not like leashes or being called pup/puppy.

lae'zel is sadistic. she loves getting off on the physical pain she can put tav through even if it's just rigorous sex. she won't go out of her way to do typical sadistic acts however.

shadowheart loves being put down and treated like a hole, but won't let tav know it until she trusts them. she will do sadistic acts and put on a front of being a dommy mommy, but once she's in a safe space for masochism, she will fold.

karlach is not into either. she doesn't want to hurt tav and she doesn't want to be hurt either.

astarion is more sadistic as he likes seeing tav suffer and be in pain. he himself does not prefer that as it brings up bad memories.

halsin had a phase where he was into masochism in his youth, but he has grown past that and respects those who are into it, but it is not for him.

minthara is sadistic. no notes lol. she loves humiliating tav and putting them in their place.

gortash is also very sadistic. if he gets in a mood, he can only get off knowing how degrading it must be for tav to let him do whatever he wants without any struggle.

ketheric is masochistic. he loves being told he's not worthy and take away his power in the bedroom, he'd melt like putty.

orin is the definition of sadism. she gets off on putting people on edge and using their fears and insecurities on themselves.
