I know Astarion/Gale is popular and I don't hate it. It's fun to imagine Astarion teasing and flustering Gale, bringing his high-mindedness a little closer to earth, and also for Astarion to have a conquest that will not immediately trip at his feet, feed into his worst instincts, or fall for his manipulation.
But I definitely prefer Astarion/Wyll. It's the monster/monster hunter thing, sure, but they're also similarly damaged, achingly romantic, and have rather sweet interactions throughout the game. It's just that Wyll is only 24, inexperienced, and painfully sincere. While Astarion is living with 200yrs of the worst experiences and buried any sincerity he had under a million layers of affectation.

Shadowzel?
Starting off strong with my first ever ship in BG3! I LOVE THEM.
What I like about it: TOXIC YURI TO SUPPORTIVE WIVES. Or you can also keep in incredibly toxic with them pledging themselves to their goddesses anew and ruining each other along the way. Absolute top tier stuff here for me.
What doesn't work for me: Honestly very little, I really love this ship. But I do feel sometimes Shadowheart can get a bit "lost" in it, if you know what I mean? Lae's journey can sometimes dominate.
For dialogue:
"I do not want to hurt you. I do not want you to keep your heart in shadow from me. I want you to be the source of my bruises, and the source of my joy."
"I do not know how to be that. I don't remember."
"Then do not remember. Begin anew. With me."

My Tav OC
People seem to like young Tav so I thought I would introduce my little Tav. In my actual DND Game they are around 16 and I just aged them up for BG3 so they would fit more.
She is a changeling but I use an elf for a base, idk if there is a race mod that will allow changelings like Orin, but also my laptop will probably burn up worse than Karlach if add anymore Mods.
Also all of this is my Headcanon, I just think it's cute having a no brain cell baby save the world
Heres a screen shot -
Tumblr media
Name: Sunny
Age: 16
Gender: doesn't care, they can be anyone *Watch the movie Nimona*
Race: Changeling
Class: Archer *a little multiclass in Bard*
Like family: Wyll, Karlach and Jaheira
Best friends: Minsc, Boo , Scratch, and Fluffy (Owlbear cub)
Friends: Halsin, and Shadowheart
Awkward: Gale and Lae,zel
Stats:
STR: 12
DEX: 17
CON: 13
INT: 7
WIS: 15
CHA: 11
About Sunny:
“Who has their brain cell?” is a sentence you would hear if it were modern times, and truth be told his little twin sister has both of their brain cells.
Had always dreamed of leaving the Feywild, but had no idea she'd leave with a parasite in her head
Lae'zel did not take finding a changeling on the notaloid well AT ALL, scared the poor baby into taking the form of a dead adult human they saw. *she panicked a bit before pushing the body off the ship, first time they touched a dead body*
Had never left their sister's side, when they woke up on the beach all alone their sobs and yells for her woke up Shadowheart
Is itching to change their skin and do so at night when everyone's sleeping
That's how Asterion figured out their secret. He was feeding one night and watched Sunny sneaking off, following them he saw her change back into her normal skin. “Well, it seems camp has two monsters hiding in it.”
They cry at being called a monster, but they understand why Astarion said so when he admitted to being a vampire
I'd imagine Sunny's blood would taste like printer ink and it makes Astarion try and scrub his tongue clean. Astarion does not bite them again
Meeting Wyll was like one of those fairy tale knight stories she had been told. Looks up to him. Approached him in the Grove like a shy fan asking for an autograph
She and Wyll are “Blade Buddies” She does not have a blade she has arrows, and no brain cells
Even after finding out the swamp was a trick He still ate the apples because “who poisons apples?” they had a bad tummy ache, and Wyll kept scolding her while the others laughed
Is not allowed within twenty feet of the fire because one day their potions and other liquid items were frozen and she thought it would be smart to warm them up in front of the fire…. She forgot to pull out the Alchemist's Flame flasks and damn near nuked the camp.
Wyll's dance scene is the tiefling party. She tells him she's never danced but loved to watch the higher courts dance. He happily shows her how to dance laughing when he spins them because of their happy squeals
Sunny and Alfira serenade the camp till the last dancer falls
They aint smart but dont get in their sight, they are a marksman at heart.
Would be a Gunslinger class, but hes never seen a gun in his life. Mey Rin from Black Buttler vibes if he was given a glock
Wyll, Karlach, and Jaheira find out she is a changeling mid-fight. She gets knocked out of her human form and they attack her due to their not knowing it's their leader, thinking shes one of Orins goons who took their Sunny
Wyll stops them, shielding Sunny with himself, when he realizes that the crying Changeling is Sunny. “Stop! Stop….” “Sunny?”  “Hey, it's OK, it's ok… Blade Buddies right?”
Wyll is having a massive life-shattering moment back at camp both his best friends are things he swore to kill, but they aren't, they are his family. He feels so much guilt about how he let himself be lied to
Hold up Wyll though higher courts meant kings and queens, finding out Sunny is from THE Feywild just has him more confused
Talking about the Feywild with them Wyll and Karlach are the first to find out Sunny is only 16. Wyll looks like -
Tumblr media
Karlach is just laughing at him and reminds him she was 15 when she became a hell soldier. Wyll needs a drink
#got fucked before 18 trio
Lae'zel does ask Sunny if they know Orin, and no Lae'zel not all changelings know each other
God's help Gale… He always hung out at camp due to being a walking bomb and always eatting Sunny's shiny things. So when he mistakes their begrudgingly kind acts…. it…. It didn't go well for him
It's like a fucking benny hill chase scene. Gale running for his life, Ablaze Karlach, Lighting shooting Wyll, Scratch and Fluffy *Owlbear Cub* just thinks they are running around playing.
Wyll slapping tadpoles out of Sunny's hand like a parent trying to keep a child from eating sand and rocks
Sunny will fall asleep on Jaheira, Wyll, and Halsin. She forgot and passed out into Karach one night, that was fun
Minsc and Sunny get into so much trouble they, don't mean to, Boo told them it was a good idea
When Mizora tried to make it impossible to save Wyll's father. Sunny did try shooting a arrow right between her pretty eyes
Honestly had no idea Orin was in the camp, they thought Gortash was just scaring them
You bet your sweet ass Sunny and Wyll are following Karlach to the hells
One day fighting the hell swarms a portal opens a similar-looking hand just out and motions them to come in. Thinking it's withers throwing another rager they run through.
It's the Feywild, it's Sunny's younger twin sister Sage. She had been searching like a hound dog for her sister.
Of course Sage helps Karlach with her heart, she helped keep her twin safe after all.
They live happily ever after yay!
Thank you for reading my silly little Headcannon, it was fun to put Sunny out in the world

"Unsavory Purposes" (Uni AU P. 4)
No, I didn't write a filler part. How dare you ask me that? I would never write fluffy filler bc I want all my little guys to be happy. Anyways, Gale intro finally!!!! Also we get to see the only other ship I have planned for this fic series...
@justporo
You, Shadow and Lae get breakfast after shooting the shit for a couple hours. The smell of eggs and potatoes fills the air as the three of you reach the bottom floor of the dorm. It's bustling with people, all trying to get somewhere. It's Sunday, and classes start tomorrow, so people are scrambling to get their textbooks before they go on backorder. The three of you part ways to put together a plate, and eventually come back together at a booth next to a window.
"Ugh, I was enjoying having a break. Back to the grind for me I suppose."
Shadowheart sighs, moving cheesy eggs around on her plate.
"You love it, don't act like you're not a workaholic."
Before they can start arguing again, a stressed man comes over to talk to Shadowheart.
"Is it true? Did Astarion really tell your entire floor to come to me if they have an issue?"
"Oh Gale, it's sweet that you're even asking. Of course he did."
Gale puts his head in his hands.
"I'm going to kill him. Mind if I sit Shadow?"
"Not at all. Tav, this is Gale, artist extraordinaire, TA for Ms. Mystra."
"Yes, it is indeed I. Thank you for the wondrous introduction Shadow."
Finally, someone's major here has piqued your interest.
"Oh, what do you study?"
"All kinds of things, but my thesis is going to be a series of paintings."
Lae'zel rolls her eyes.
"The arts. So silly, what a waste."
She stabs her eggs with her fork.
"Why, are you thinking of majoring in some kind of art?"
You shrug.
"Honestly, I don't really know yet."
Shadowheart almost spits out her water.
"You... you don't know your major? This place is going to eat you alive."
She and Gale laugh to themselves, but it doesn't bother you. She's not wrong after all, it's odd that you haven't picked a major at this point. There are just too many good options.
"Well, you could be like Lae'zel and study something boring like history."
Shadow playfully nudges her arm, to which she grumbles.
"I didn't come here for a degree idiot, I came here to run."
It's silent for a moment, before Gale solemnly speaks up.
"How is it by the way? Your leg?"
She almost seems sad, but quickly shifts her expression.
"It's fine."
And that's the end of that conversation. Gale doesn't pry any further, but it clearly has him concerned. You realize you actually don't know what's wrong with her leg, other than that it's stiff when she walks. Before you can ask what happened, Shadowheart interrupts.
"Holy shit. Who is that Gale?!"
You turn inconspicuously to where she's looking, and you see the skater from last night, Karlach.
"Oh, she just transferred. Karlach. Apparently the best wrestler we've had in years."
"She looks like she could carry me to safety..."
You smirk.
"Shadow, you're staring at her."
She quickly averts her gaze, blushing.
"Right. My bad."
It's too late though, because the wrestler is now walking towards your table.
"Hey there! Sup Gale?"
"Nothing much Karlach. The dorm treating you well?"
"Oh hell yeah. I just thought I'd come over because your friend was staring at me, didn't know if she needed something."
The woman's voice is a little playful, almost as if she knows Shadow was staring for... unsavory purposes.
"No- I... I'm sorry. You're fine, I don't need anything. I mean, I need some things, like food and water and-"
Gale turns to her, mouthing something along the lines of 'shut up.'
"Well, alright. Good to see you Gale! Off to get some breakfast."
Karlach then winks at Shadowheart, before sauntering off. You're in shock from the massive flirting that just happened in front of you, and Gale is as well. Lae'zel is ignoring it all, still stabbing away at her eggs.
"Shadow... how did you even manage to pull that off."
"I have no idea because I certainly panicked! But dear Goddess do I NEED her to crush me."
You and Gale laugh.
"What! I'm serious, she could destroy me with those thighs and I would thank her."
"You're going to scare off your new friend Shadowheart. Tav, I apologize on her behalf. She doesn't know how to act around buff women."
"It's alright! I think it's sweet. You two would be cute."
"We would be, wouldn't we..."

I'm at the end of act 2 in BG3 and I'm suffering because I want to rp but I don't want to spoiler myself everything that happens next, do you see my pain??? I'm using the mod so the entire party is with me and I have all the convos and ugh
me losing it over shadowheart and astarion below
there is so much FUN that can be explored in rp like. honestly after the nightsong Lex and Shadowheart's friendship is ruined, which is so painful because she'd actually likes her more now but also she'll never fully trust Shadowheart again? because she had to basically bow her head and tell her 'I'm not okay with you killing the Nightsong but I can't lose you so I'll let you' and THEN Shadowheart made the right choice but it still meant Lex had to accept something like that to avoid having to kill her? (because I need a cleric), because she didn't trust her to make that decision from the beginning without interfering and initially it made Shadow more determined to kill the Nightsong? but how could Lex not intervene in the hope that Shadow wouldn't sacrifice someone held prisoner for her goddess if the ENTIRE TIME Shadow was saying that she'd do whatever Shar wanted even if she had to fight Lex? DAMN IT.
especially because like I said before Shadow lost ALL of her trust when Lex woke up at night to find out she put a knife on Lae'zel's throat while Lae slept and told her she'd claim she had started changing into a Mindflyer, like they are both obsessed with their beliefs but that moment alone told me Shadow would do anything to complete her mission. and now even if she feels lost shadow is starting to think more for herself instead of doing what her god, who took her memories of why she's doing things, demands her to do, and Lex LIKES that person but it's too late gkjlsgdjfgd
hell Lae'zell took not going after the creche better. but also ASTARION WHAT THE HELL kind of relationship did I end up writing. Lex threatened her ONCE because she knew Lae would like it and she was RIGHT.
but also ASTARION WHAT THE HELL kind of relationship did I end up writing, I'd love to ship them in rp even more than in the game tbh because there are more dialogue choices when we are free (let aside that my 'canon' ship is Wyll because it happened naturally since their interests align) but the 'we banter and bicker all the time but I'd do you' is one of my faves especially with the bonus 'if anyone tries to force him into anything I'll go feral', and Astarion is always so touched that Lex will give him a choice about pretty much anything despite shooting down his 'let's be evil' ideas and not letting anywhere near her neck lol
Gale is breaking my heart, HE BETTER NOT DIE. Karlach is my bro but also needs the damn hug but the guy who could have helped died at the last light inn so uhm

Follow-up question about Byron, your dashing sailor! How does he feel about his new traveling companions? How do they fit into his grand new adventure?
You're awesome, thank you for facilitating my nerd-out session.
Byron is going to be traveling with Shadowheart, Lae'zel, and Astarion for his adventure (I like to keep one consistent group, Gale, Wyll, and Karlach are going to be my squad for playthrough 2 though!).
After growing up with infernal heritage and spending years with various crews and shipmates, I think Byron has a soft spot for outcasts and misfits.
He respects Lae'zel for guiding them through the Nautiloid and can see past her brusque demeanor (he worked with /sailors/ after all, not always polite company). He knows people have a lot more to them than what meets the eye, but also woman who swing sword good is always a valuable asset to a team. That being said, while there are some things he can overlook, he won't take all of her shit talk. I'm hoping they'll reach a mutual respect and friendship over the course of their journey!
After saving Shadowheart on the ship, the two already have a decent foundation of respect. You watch out for me, I'll watch out for you. He minds her privacy and values her input. The Shar reveal was a bit of a shock, but fuck it, they've come this far together and Byron has seen stranger things. Her faith is her own and they're working towards a common goal, welcome aboard. While he doesn't get the Shar allegiance thing, he's open to understanding Shadowheart and perhaps eventually show her she has other options, people who care for her besides a Goddess who wants to plunge the world into darkness. Basically, he'll be there for her when things fall apart as a shoulder to lean on. She's crew, and loyalty is everything.
Astarion's the wild card here, of all people. I think Byron can't quite get a beat on him like Shadow or Lae and that intrigues him. He's also a man who values freedom and independence, so when Astarion reveals his *tragic past* Byron empathizes strongly and that's what seals the deal. Astarion's part of his team and he owes it to him to see Cazador brought down. The two butt heads at times about personal philosophy. Byron isn't a fan of using the tadpole but understands why Astarion wants to, just as he understands why Astarion sees the acquisition of power as a virtue (though he vehemently disagrees). He also keeps his vampire spawn friend's most chaotic impulses in check, unless the situation calls for a less measured approach. I like to think they understand each other even if they don't always agree, and Byron genuinely thinks Astarion is very funny so that helps. The casual flirting doesn't hurt his ego either . . . And Astarion isn't exactly a bad looking man by any stretch. Why turn down a "night of fun", really? Where that night goes is yet to be seen.
Basically, I want to take this ragtag group of weirdos and show them the world and its people can be good and decent. I do worry about Byron's bend toward heroism alienating them in the beginning, but I think I can do party politics well enough to keep everyone on board. I love these three because I'm so excited to see their plotlines develop them for the better and I think they make such an entertaining group together.

i've been taking a break from playing bg3 so i don't get burnt out between filling my time with solely that and schoolwork, but because of brainworms i'm still thinking about it so here's victri's first impressions of the origin companions! (in order of when she met them)
Lae'zel: She's literally the first person Victri SEES after getting abducted by the mind flayers. When she bumps into her later, she's so happy to see someone else who can help her fight her way out of this place. She also thinks Lae is cool as hells because she kicks major ass. In her mind, they have strong bonds formed by the nature of them being in the same predicament so she's lowkey offended when she finds out Lae'zel doesn't think of them as besties?? Ma'am we fought together, we could have died together, and we're just allies? The fuck?
Shadowheart: (This is very funny because I failed the roll to free her from the pod and I didn't know I could just.. switch to Lae and try again so I left her behind by accident sdlkfhskhld) So Victri does her best to free Shadow on the ship but can't figure it out, so she promises to come back for her - and she means it! But then shit goes down and our silly little bard is waking up on a beach wondering why she isn't like beyond dead. When she starts to wander down the road and finds Shadow on the beach, she's genuinely so elated - you didn't die!! And of course Shadow is like "oh it's the bitch who left me behind :) i mean, at least you tried i guess". Victri starts sweating bullets and is like "haha let's travel together my fellow half-elf!" and Shadow hits her with the "we are not kin" and Victri gets ready to eat sand and die right there. Vic really wants to make things up to Shadow because she feels so guilty about not being able to free her (even though things turned out okay in the end). Vic is also very nosy so she's like "let's get to know each other!" and is thrown when Shadow is just like "let's not!".
When Shadowheart and Lae'zel start fighting or bickering, Victri almost always thinks they're trying to sway her out of concern for her. Like "aww my bestie wants me to make the right choice :)". No girl, they just want you to side with them. They don't like you (yet).
Gale: A strange magic man just came out of the portal in that rock, of course she's intrigued by him!! She also thinks he's really cute (this will cause problems for us later!) and is so genuinely relieved to encounter a person who is just?? polite?? He didn't try to kill her, he's been nice and seems normal, this is a man we can trust. When he asks for a tasty snack of some magical items, she has many questions but is basically just like "okay :) I love my good friend Gale" and hands him a fancy sword she found on a corpse while her other companions are begging her to give him something shittier. She also might have accidentally led him on without realizing? (This was a result of me planning to romance Gale but then finding out that Astarion is actually charming and they didn't lie to me on Twitter. Gale I am so sorry I still love you I am just bad at planning-)
Astarion: Since Vic and Astarion become an Item later I could write a whole essay on them. Basically she clocks him as someone who is capable of handling himself in battle, but is still clueless enough to turn her back on him. She's wary of him for about ten seconds and then hits him with the ol' "Wanna join my crew party?" With Astarion's admission later in the romance that he doesn't like Tav at first, I imagine that he meets her and is taken aback with how... gullible and naïve she seems (putting it nicely). Victri is like "oh cool, this guy who is skilled with knives is teaming up with us :) a great asset for our cause" and Astarion is like "it's gonna be so easy to manipulate this moron". She's a bard and likes to flirt but it usually doesn't go farther than that for her. When Astarion comes onto her, she definitely takes it at face value and is super earnest about starting to have feelings for him as they come. By the time he admits his feelings for her, she's already fully in love with him. His whole "aha so this was basically me manipulating you but I caught feelings oops" catches her by surprise because she's SO BAD at romance but she strongly believes on judging people in the present so she's more happy he's being honest now than upset about him lying before.
Wyll: THE Blade of Frontiers?? Victri is a bard so yes, she's heard the stories. She's stricken with how down-to-earth and genuine he seems. He's a little subdued compared to her other companions, but he has a strong sense of justice which she really resonates with. She thinks he's just the coolest, I like to imagine that he's kind of her rock throughout the adventure in a platonic way. He's always ready to lend an ear or a hand, based on the situation, and she'd do the same for him in an instant. Most of his values line up with hers and she feels like he's such an asset to the team. Does not even flinch when he gets devil-ified because she lowkey thinks the horns look good on him. She tries not to say anything though because she wants to be respectful of his feelings! The only thing holding her back from trying to kill Mizora is the knowledge that Wyll would die as a result. She would do anything for him, honestly, he's like a brother to her.
Karlach: Love. I could literally just leave it there. When she first runs into Karlach with Wyll, she senses something's up before the tadpole fuckery starts. Just looks her up and down and is internally like "this... is not the person Wyll described at all". She's all too happy to go fuck up the fake paladins for her newest bestest friend! Vic and Karlach have a lot of similar feelings about their friends ("we love them") and their issues ("that's so fucked") so they get along well. From the jump, Victri is like "I'll do whatever I can to help you [with the engine]" and when Karlach mentions needing an infernal mechanic she gets a literal exclamation point above her head and runs in circles because "I KNOW ONE OF THOSE!!" (Unfortunately for Karlach and Victri, I had already finished the Grove questline and Dammon had left for Baldur's Gate! So we had to wait until Act II with all this infernal iron burning a hole in her backpack teehee).
