Ooo good question. Honestly I believe he's been hooking up with men since Season 8 when he was really, deeply repressed and was able to be gay with genuinely thinking it wasn't gay at all.

i.e. I believe 100% the gag in Charlie and Dee Find Love was that Trevor was fucking Mac, but Mac actually, genuinely believe that was considered wrestling. (The Maniac showed him that move...which begs a question...)

And to support my claim, Mac openly just -going for it- with Dennis in Recycles their Trash kinda proves he's not even registering what he's doing is gay/inappropriate/out of place, like yeah this is a thing that feels good that I'm gonna do.

To me, Season 8 establishes that he was clearly just kind of falling into gay situations that he didn't see as gay because there was some 'manlier' aspect behind them (wrestling and, uh, celebrating with your buddies, I suppose?). I like the idea that, you know, if he shuts up he's pretty cute, he's dumb, and he's very into complimenting men, so it's not far off to assume that when he wasn't with the Gang and doing his own thing, he was -falling into guy's laps- so to say, just by way of his existence... Things like Mac Day expose him where he's just greasing up guys on the side...very manly, nothing gay, he's popping boners but it's not gay because it's muscles and competition and that's too manly to be gay. And if any of those guys every noticed his boner and decided they needed a massage a little lower, or maybe needed to test his strength pumping, or his jaw.. well, that's just all part of making sure they're in top shape, and they're giving him some fitness tips in return, that's so nice

I think Season 10 threw him back into the actual seeking these things out life when he wasn't so repressed he was blind to what's gay (S8), he was having genuine gay experiences just off the street, in his various male-dominated situations (S9) but he's still too homophobic to admit what he wants. Misses the Boat pushed him over the line, probably... He used to be a party boy, but he gave that up for Dennis... He doesn't go out to clubs or bars anymore because that's harder not to see as explicitly gay until he does. He has to pretend to like being with a woman and now, it's impossible. It's impossible to ignore he's not into it, and he's opened a door to a lifestyle where Dennis has told him they won't ask any questions. (Not to mention he's now living in Dee's living room, with Dennis, Dennis who keeps rejecting his advances, almost on top of him. He's got no space to himself, but clubs and bars.. well that's a really easy place to meet someone that's willing to take you back to their place, since you don't have your own...)

In summary: I imagine Leprechaun wasn't his first gay bar experience, or his first experience at the Rainbow, but I think 11 was probably the Season (maybe end of 10, probably right before) that he started going out fully, intentionally. But for years before that he was just so clearly gay, yet repressed, that he was constantly getting himself into gay situations organically, at first unknowingly gay to him, then it slowly wore into his thick skull that he's gay and this is all gay and it, well, feels too good to stop...so keep on leaning in...

Corpses don’t stay for very long, in Scar’s experience.

When someone dies, provided they weren’t on their last life, their body only stays for about a minute, before dissolving into ashes with no fire, quickly scattering to an unfelt wind. Etho had once theorized that it was so the matter can be recycled into their new bodies; Bdubs had put forwards that it was the only kindness the server would ever offer, that there was a built in clean up duty so that there wouldn’t be three or more times the corpses lying everywhere. Seeing your own dead body is bad for business, he had joked.

Grian had said that it was for efficiency. So that they wouldn’t have to waste time constantly digging graves rather than putting each other in them.

Scar thinks thats the most optimistic out of all of them, that even without the convenient cremation, that every body would eventually get a grave.

(He doesn’t think about Bdubs, floating in the water face down as Grian screams traitor at him, how Scar had left him there floating to make their final journey home. He doesn’t think about how he hasn’t killed Bdubs since.)

The body in front of him isn’t a corpse, Grian is just…. sleeping, he supposes. When he walked up to the bread bridge in the sky and saw Grian slumped over on a llama, he looked peaceful, eyes closed and serene. Suddenly, Scar yearned for hotter weather, sand between his toes.

All Jimmy would say is that Grian had “gone away,” with an uncharacteristically hard look in his eye whenever someone tried to press. Even as he proclaimed that Grian would be back and that in the meantime he was under the protection of the bad boys, he avoided looking directly at the figure for long, keeping it in his peripheral as he fluttered about from place to place. Joel didn’t quite seem to understand but pushed the party line, snarling anytime Scar even came close to the shell that Grian apparently wasn’t using at the moment.

He really did look like he was sleeping like this, arranged so that his arms were around the llama’s neck for stability, leaning against it. From far away, it could even look like he was breathing, as the movement of the animal’s own lungs gave him the illusion of false life.

Even still the sight unnerved him, enraged him partly from the unnatural aura surrounding the body and partly from the memories it was invoking. He pushed cart after cart full of TNT in the midst of his yellow frenzy, and if that shell was destroyed, out of his sight in the process, well, no one could tell on him, right?

But here, underground, Grian’s body betrays no signs of living. Sat in his little cove, eyelids set open by Martyn with a razor sharp smirk, the complement to Jimmy’s hard eyes as he said, “Don’t worry about his eyes getting dry. He would prefer it this way, after all, so he can watch.”

Scar thinks this is the closest he’s ever come to seeing Grian’s corpse. There’s no blood, no characteristic wounds that usually grace the bodies that come from this server. He’s simply still, eyes slightly glassy, like a doll. His chest is now visibly still, but face no paler than usual. It seems whatever happened left Grian’s body in some kind of stasis, nothing changing, nothing moving. He doesn’t like it, Scar decides, whispering his confession (I’m sorry for killing you, he says; I’m sorry I couldn’t wake you up, he doesn’t) and he takes his leave.

Scar’s always died before Grian, so there was no chance he would stumble upon his body in the last throes of the game. He wonders if anybody ever dug him a grave before. Nobody ever really talks about it, afterwards, when the world restarts. The winners don’t usually get a chance, they’ve said, that by the time the adrenaline has gone down and they’ve processed the bloody medal they’ve been given, they’re whisked away. Scar wonders if somewhere there’s a world where his bones are being bleached by a harsh sun, or if they’ve been covered in sand, the only grave they could ever hope to get.

(What he doesn’t know, is that his bones made that rule. That as soon as the light left his eyes, the man who killed him, still panting and covered with their blood, took out a shovel and started to dig. He ignored the roaring in his ears, the pounding at his temples demanding for him to move on, to get on with the show. But he had stayed, digging six feet deep, surrounded by an altar of catci, an organic tomb. Only when the last shovel full of sand had been placed on top, had the man stumbled backwards, spread his arms, and fell.)

One thing I’ve noticed is that streaming as a community is very interesting in the fact that whenever women make it big, men will almost instantly find some excuse as to why or will throw a pity party. And this happens in the vtuber community a LOT! And when I say a lot, I mean a lot.

It’s the same recycled, misogynistic arguments that men used towards successful, non-vtuber streamers. Tell me if this sounds familiar to y’all:

“You can only make it if you have huge tits” “You can only make it if you sell out for sex” “It’s easier to get followers when you’re an NSFW creator” “Men have to work harder against the lewdtubers in order to get noticed” “Women have it soooo easy”

Yeah- they’re the same arguments people used against non-vtuber streamers to downplay their success. They instantly go to the “if you’re this successful it must have to do with your appearances” argument. Not their hard work, networking, and endless grinding for those followers. All they see is a model happens to have visible cleavage and they lose it. And they (men) CONSTANTLY victimize themselves when women call out the blatant sexism in streaming circles. And then women don’t feel like we can talk about ANYTHING without getting dogpiled and locking replies.

Literally just a month or so ago a post was made talking about how male streamers have a tendency to abuse their power and fame to get nudes and whatnot from other smaller creators, and that they’re more likely to be creeps the bigger they get. Instead of people nodding and understanding that the criticism and frustration didn’t apply to them SPECIFICALLY, the quotes were flooded with “not all men” and various insults regarding how the person was a woman and how women have it “so easy” in vtubing. Then a bunch of “male vtuber support” threads popped up. Instantly catering to the fact some men had hurt feelings over something that was not targeting them specifically rather than comforting the women who had insults hurled at them for addressing the gross attitude of men in the community.

And I know I’ll probably get some “well not all men 🤓” in my mentions but here’s what I have to say to like- everyone who uses that: if the post specifically does not apply to you, then simply listen. Furthermore, maybe reflect on why you feel the need to dismiss women’s concerns about a pattern they have recognized in order to make other men feel good about themselves. If you’re not the creeps the post is referring to, then maybe just shut up and raise awareness about creepy behavior in your community?? It can be annoying to see a generalization, but some of y’all need to step back and think about maybe why that generalization is being made.

For example. If I am swiping through my Short Form Video App™️ and I see a video that has a podcast of 2 guys sitting on a couch and 2 girls sitting on a couch- I almost always know it’s going to be some weird rage bait. You may be sitting there going “well- not every podcast is like that! Why scroll past every one like that?” Well yeah- but 9/10 it’s rage bait and I’m not going to waste my time seeing if it MIGHT not be rage bait or just a shitty opinion.

TLDR; It’s really saddening to see that when women call out toxic behavior that men tend to exhibit in a women-dominated field, people will almost always side with the hurt feelings of men rather than the fear and trauma that women have.

College au. it's a college town and so a lot of houses are rented to students. The guys have a gig at a house party and after the set, a lot of the partygoers decided to play a neighborhood-wide game of hide and seek. So you have a rowdy group of drunk people running all over the place. (i don't know much about the traditional college experience but I feel like this could happen lol)

In one round, Reggie is one of seeker's and found Alex pretty quickly. but they've been wandering around for awhile and haven't seen anybody new and Luke isn't back with the group gathered in front of the party house. Seeing one of the houses has a camera doorbell, they decide to knock and see if the residents might be able to help them out.

Julie had been at the library studying when her phone started going insane with alerts about movement outside her house. then she gets the alert that someone is at the door so she moves to the stairwell to look at the live feed at the door. Seeing two guys around her age looking around, she turns the mic on just as they begin to walk away. They explain whats going on and ask if she can review the video footage and look for a guy in a cutoff shirt. They were polite so she chooses to help out. she reviews the footage from the timestamps of the original movement alerts. sure enough, she sees a guy in a cutoff and jeans running around the house and climbing into the recycle bin. Laughing, she lets the guys know and decides to sit and watch to see how this pans out, already formulating her story for Flynn later.

When she sees them open the lid, their friend is no longer running and he looks kind of grumpy as he stumbles out of the bin. but he's also kind of cute and now she feels kind of bad. as they walk past the front door again and she hears them telling him how they found him, and he walks up to the camera all "Not cool!" and now she has a real good view of him and before she can think it through she offers to make it up to him by buying him a milkshake or something.

He pauses before he accepts the offer because he recognizes her voice from a class he shares with her. a class that he constantly gets distracted in because of her.

Same situation, but Reggie is the one hiding and Luke is the seeker. and he gets a bit distracted just hearing her speaking voice through the speaker and tries to hold a conversation instead of look for Reggie, but Alex keeps him on track. And in this one, he offers her a milkshake as thanks for helping out.

HS au where the guys play at a party that gets the cops called on it. everyone SCATTERS and Luke gets separated from Alex and Reggie. Julie wasn't really doing the party scene ever since her mom died and was home alone, and when the cops come knocking, she doesn't feel like dealing with it directly so she talks to them through the doorbell.

but when they ask to see if she could see where one of the kids went, she looks and recognizes Luke. Not being a snitch, knowing he probably was just there as another opportunity for his band and not because of the underage drinking or drugs, she tells the cops she didn't see where he went. but now she is very alert and paranoid because she just lied to freaking cops! she keeps watching the live doorbell feed as the cops slowly move on.

eventually she notices Luke's friends and she wants to tell them but she is also rooted to her bed. (what if the cops come back and realize she was home the whole time?) so she "pssst" into the mic trying to get the boy's attention without being so loud it attracts the cops back, and it takes a few tries but eventually they cautiously walk up to the door. and Julie kind of knows them from school and does the unthinkable and gives her phone number and says "text me. it's about luke". Alex immediately is on his phone and texts her and she's like "he's in my recycling bin. get him out and lay low in the garage. it's unlocked"

and then she grabs one of Carlos' bats and moves through the dark house to sneak out the back to confront them and make sure she shouldn't actually call the cops. they scream at being approached with a weapon which causes her to scream and then they are all shushing each other because COPS, and then the rest is history?

It’s always been a thing on LITG that your LI keeps asking you if you’re still interested in them. And this has always annoyed me but it at least made sense in the context of there’s a recoupling today so they’re trying to see where your head was at. But Suresh constantly trying to figure out where our head was at even after we were exclusive was mind boggling to me. Like why was he asking if MC saw a future outside the villa on three separate occasions. You have to think this is in the span of TWO days and this man won’t stop asking you this or telling you how incredibly lucky he is. Which sure, he was trying to get with you all summer and it finally happened so he’s gushing okay I love it… but to repeat the same exact thing over and over was just too much. Which I hate to do it, but I have to attribute that to just poor writing 😫😫😫 OMG and when we were on a date…Instead of asking constantly if there is a future, why not actually talk about that future. Can’t wait until you move in… can’t wait until we do the first food shop together… can’t wait for you to come to my parents literally ANYTHING!!
