I swear Voltron would be so much better if they sacrificed the lions instead of Allura! It would make way more sense, then the lions wouldn't have had to fly away randomly like that.

I personally hated Allura, I'm a Keith fan and I didn't appreciate the way she treated him after his trials. But even I can agree Allura didn't deserve to die, she lost so much in her life. She was deceived by Lotor, and then haunted by him in season 8, that episode gave me nightmares. She was such a great character, she could've ended up as the queen of Altea, and Lance could have gotten a happy ending instead of living on a farm left to forever long after his lost love.

I don't even understand why she dies it doesn't make any sense!

You've managed to sum up a lot of people's post-S2 complaints. I feel that the problem with Allura's death is that it feels like it was done for reasons of "I want a character to die because that's what epic series do" instead of "this death is the culmination of a character's arc and their actions."

In fact, a lot of the darker aspects of later VLD seasons seem to be done out of a desire to be "the next Evangelion" or something similar, rather than an interest in seeing how these events would affect the characters and their world.

Allura choosing to live for the future and her people would be a proper end to her arc and the culmination of her character (namely her dedication to winning the war above all else), and I feel like VLD not really delivering on that hints at the drama that went on behind the scenes.

Another funny thing about mshenko fics is they're always stressing how Kaidan is a field medic and it's like. Miles is a sentinel and Ezra is an engineer. They're also field medics. Kaidan's not special.

I do love a good "healer/tank" relationship don't get me wrong, and I'd like for that to be Miles and Kaidan's relationship, and I've warmed up to Miles being more of a Bastion/Barrier/Biotics specialist than a medic anyway, and especially in aus I envision Miles as more of a tank first now.

But also I can't quite let go of Miles also being a medic/healer.

Gameplay-wise sentinel shep meshes extremely well with Kaidan in me3 (Warp/Reave combos for days) but sometimes I'm like. Maybe making Miles and Kaidan the same class with the same skillset wasn't the best choice...

#but it's too late now #I've tried to play Miles as a vanguard #it's fitting for him for one but not 2 and 3 #who is Miles without his gaudy gold armor and tech armor?#oc: Miles Shepard #adept isn't a bad fit but that's very inspired by how I view Noah as an adept #and it kind of makes me want to keep adept for Noah. If that makes any sense #even though Noah is like kind of a hybrid adept/vanguard rather than a classic adept #idk Miles *could* be a more biotics focused character and it would fit for him #being able to make biotic barriers and such would fit him very well #but I also kind of like him not being able to do these things (that maybe Kaidan can more easily)

it just occurred to me to wonder... how much of how shitty i've felt this past week and a half is being compounded by having to fuck with my adderall dosing to tide me until i can see my doctor and get a refill.

i've been staggering taking a leftover xr one day, skipping a day, then taking a higher dose of the ir, and so on. it's enough that i'm not crashing but... my dopamine is probably all over the place right now. and i gotta say. talking shit to myself feels almost rewarding.

#i'm just so mad at myself for not somehow... doing more? as if i wasn't doing my fucking best???#as if i literally didn't start packing before i even got a place??#last week i felt so prepared and like i really had most of it done #but now that we're in the last 48hrs before the movers come i'm just.... it feels like nothing is even remotely ready #i look around and there's just so much that needs to get thrown in a box #if i push through and don't take any breaks or get any rest i can probably do it but.... i just dont want saturday to be frantic #and i'm really struggling with prioritizing how to use this little time i have left #bc i really wanna get over to the new place and give everything a wipe down/vacuum run before my stuff comes #it's probably gonna have to be early saturday... provided i can get everything done after work tomorrow #i kinda wish i had taken tomorrow off #but it's too late now #okay i'm going to force myself to eat now even though my brain is screaming at me for it #less so now that i wrote this (bc realizing it might be my meds and not *me* made me feel a teeny bit better)#and just... i think i really need to make peace with that what's gonna happen will happen #i'll do my best like i've been doing since i started packing #my best is fuvking garbage but it's all i've got to give #and it's gonna be as done as it can possibly get come 10am saturday #*sigh*#personal

it’s a multi-vortex tornado. i dont remember the tribe it originates from (i think it was cherokee), but there’s a native american legend…? saying? that goes “if you see a man in a tornado, you are about to die.”

the most infamous shot of a dead man walking tornado hit jarrell, texas in 1997

it did so much damage to the town it caused the scale that tornados are measured by, the fijita scale, undergo revisions, and it made anchoring buildings in the tornado alley region pretty much mandatory. (it took the entire town off the map. only those who had taken shelter outside of the town or in underground bunkers survived.)

two more examples of dead man walking tornadoes looking like a person are a tornado from 2011 that hit cullman, alabama

and a tornado from 1975 that hit xenia, ohio

edit: it has been brought to my attention that the native american “legend” part of this post was a rumor spread by a documentary.

an ex-zionist jewish man recently went a bit viral on tiktok for sharing exactly how he sees zionism tie israel to the jewish identity and his personal experience with breaking away from it - I think it’s a really great watch.

He also made a follow up talking specifically about how he learned to humanise Palestinians, and a really integral part of it was his school, which would often bring in Palestinian speakers who’d share their perspective (here’s a link to it).

#tiktok against all odds inspires a lot of hope in me bc of how prevalent palestinian support is over there #so much of the younger generation is so media literate and articulate about standing up to oppression #and getting perspectives like this I think is really beneficial when it comes to understanding where Zionist talking points come from #I don’t particularly think right now our priority should be reaching out to zionists or anything #it should always be Palestinians at the forefront of activism our activism #but this is educational.
