8k words in the new ME fic so far. I am having THOUGHTS and FEELINGS and they are morphing themselves into a STORY.
And yes, I am gonna post. I’ll keep it separate from the first series just in case BW runs over it with a canon truck and this will just be a fun little AU I wrote while staring pointedly at ME4 waiting to see what it’s gonna do to me.
But yeah. Coming soon to an archive near you. More Pen and Garrus. More Kahrin and June. I’m doing The Thing.

WIP Wednesday - A Silly Ramble
In the spirit of @hellcheeranniversaryweek and WIP Wednesday, I'm sharing a little bit about my process on the new fic I'll be posting... sometime next week as part of the celebration.
So, like, I had the Jason problem, right? He and Chrissy are together, they're both sixteen, it's summer break, and he's off at camp. The way I originally wrote it, he cheats on her there, so she feels justified cheating with Eddie at home. But it wasn't super working for me, and I was having a hard time getting Chrissy past anger and into horny, which is the ~vibe this fic is going for. Just... again, bop her on the nose and send her to horny jail, etc. etc.
I was going around and around on the notion, and then I was like... what if I DIDN'T write Jason as the worst person who ever lived like he is in Soul? What if he was just sort of a sixteen-year-old dingleberry, like so many boys of that age?
Doing so flipped the script from "Jason is a cheater" to "Jason wants a summer of freedom and pulls a Ross Gellar break and Chrissy's like 'ok bet' when Eddie enters the picture." It opened up the story in a different way, allowed Chrissy more agency, AND gave me the opportunity to insert some conflict.
Granted, I've only written the first chapter, but like... in theory, that's what I'm going for.
But yeah, it involved a total rewrite of the Chrissy portion of that chapter, and honestly, sometimes it just be like that.
