Why Stormy?
SPOILERS FOR A MAJOR PLOT POINT IN SEASON 3
The first of a few posts explaining some of my fave/most iconic moments in the series so far, some of you may wonder, why was it Stormy that died? Especially since some may believe Darcy might’ve been the ‘better’ option.
First off I will admit, I did pull a red herring with Darcy with a few conversations she has in s3 about maybe leaving and in general her always having been the ‘lesser evil’ of the Trix.
This wasn’t a straight up red herring but I did want to set up Darcy as the most regretful of the three, the one who’s willing to keep going as long as the witches stay together. Once Stormy dies, the three are no longer together and Darcy finally refuses to keep going, seeing that the path Icy is on will only end in Darcy being on her own.
Now, as for why it was Stormy, I knew the ends of each Trix when I was like, a fourth into season 2. I knew one would die, one would be driven mad and the last one would return to Light Rock, utterly defeated and alone.
I debated with myself on whether it should be Stormy or Darcy to die, but in the end, I chose Stormy due to the thought of escalation and liking the idea of Stormy’s rage being her undoing.
Stormy is the one without a proper ‘origin story’, she was loved, she grew up privileged and had the opportunity to chose whatever she wanted to do with her life. However, from a young age, Stormy has an inexplicable rage in her very soul.
I love my morally gray villains/antiheroes, but I also love when villains are just… evil, no real explanation. That’s Stormy, she just craved power and chaos, her mom saw that and, from very early on, tried to help Stormy, get her into therapy, keep her away from anything that might trigger that deep-rooted rage that she didn’t know how to keep at bay.
Stormy’s doom is that rage and impulsivity, she goes too far, starts a curse that she can’t truly control and the curse starts turning against her, which leads to Musa having to bring the building down, killing them both in the process, but only one of them comes back.
I thought of this as, almost a bit of a self-fullfiling prophecy, even if the term doesn’t fully apply here technically speaking. Because Stormy has every chance to not be this, to turn back, to stop. She has resources and help from a young age, she shows that she’s willing to let Darcy go, but she herself cannot let go of that hunger, even knowing that it’s not very reasonable.
In the end, there as no real reason for Stormy to die, she knew how dangerous the curse she attempted was, she wasn’t supposed to even be there. And, even being there, she wasn’t supposed to initiate a curse, only take it. But no, she makes bad choice after bad choice and it leads to her death.
It felt appropriate for her. And, I won’t lie, I did consider having Stormy’s rage wind up causing Darcy’s death but the story would have been VERY different that way and it just didn’t fit for the story narrative (it would’ve been a beautiful, tragic narrative for the Trix, but they’re not the main characters so they weren’t the ones I wanted to explore in such a deeply traumatic way)
So, I chose Stormy to be the one to kick the bucket as a way of showing a self-fullfiling prophecy ala Haunting of Hill House, all along, she would be the cause of her own death and she had no idea.

Saw this. Thought it seemed fun to share the opinions I have that none of you asked for. I'd credit the original creator of it, but I found like 5 people claiming it's theirs 🤷🏻‍♀️
Favourite character: Musa
I feel like this one needs little explaining.
She's been my favourite since I was 9/10 (which, yes, was in 2004 when the show first came out). I'm pretty sure Musa had a major influence on my current taste in women (that is, dark haired tomboys)
Least favourite character: Faragonda
I've got issues with this shady bitch. She acts like she's all for helping her students and then turns around and keeps major secrets from them. Not to mention she sends teenagers on death missions (Saladin gets a pass on this cause that's literally what his students are at Red Fountain to do and Griffin doesn't do it cause she's a queen).
All in all, fuck this woman and her fake-ass grandma attitude.
Favourite villain: Darcy
Yes, specifically Darcy. Stormy is close behind, but I just don't like Icy enough for the trix as a whole to be my favourite.
Darcy not only has, by far, the coolest powers on this show but she's also the most interesting villain. Whereas all the other villains are obviously in it for power or for fun (looking at you, Stormy), it seems like Darcy isn't quite as set on power. She's putting in the effort, but I feel like, if it weren't for Icy (mostly) and Stormy, she would never have seeked out that power.
But also her character design is beautiful. I mean, the 70s aesthetic… amazing.
Least favourite villain: Tritannus
I just really don’t like looking at him.
Also I feel like his story is weak af. Just give him some land (water?) to be duke of or something.
Also also that Tritannus/Icy thing 🤢
Most overrated: Flora
BEFORE YOU SEND ME ANGRY MESSAGES: I do not HATE Flora.
I just don’t understand why people love her so much. I just don't think she’s interesting enough. Canon Flora is boring. She has no spice. All of her flavour comes from what the fans have made of her.
Fanon Flora, love her dearly. Canon Flora, equivalent to flour (heh, get it? Flour, Flower).
Most underrated: Timmy
A king.
This man does not get the love and appreciation he deserves. Not only is he brilliant, he is also adorably nerdy, he is kind, he is loyal, he is patient, he is a god-tier boyfriend, he is a lovable and honest friend.
TLDR: He is too good and pure for this world.
If you dislike this man, kindly remove yourself from my page. That shit will not be tolerated. This is a no Timmy slander area.
Favourite season: Season 2
This season holds both some of my least favourite episodes as well as my most favourites. We’ve got an interesting relationship, me and season 2.
That being said, it holds a special place in my heart. Mainly because of the Musa/Riven development, but also the addition of Aisha.
Least Favourite season: Season 5
I only picked season 5 because i don’t think ive ever seen season 6 or 7 fully. I’ve seen parts of season 6 (the ones that pertained to Musa and Riven), but I don’t think that’s enough for me to judge it properly.
Season 5 is just bad all around: mediocre villain, juvenile, probably some bad Bloom/Sky drama that I blocked from memory, that infuriating episode where they forced Tecna and Timmy to go on a irl date, that stupid ass plot where Musa thought Riven was cheating on her, the fucking ridiculous Helia/Flora/Krystal drama.
Favourite fairy form: Enchantix
Beautiful. Classic. Ethereal.
Least favourite fairy form: Sirenix
The Sirenix song, an absolute bop. Sirenix itself, hard no. It’s just… 🤮🤮
Now, again, I am not considering season 6 and 7 as I haven’t seen them properly. Butterflix is a strong contender for least favourite, though.
Favourite episode: Season 2 Episode 15 – The Show Must Go On (Magic in My Heart in 4kids)
Musa performing for the first time in the show. Musa and her dad starting to work on their relationship. Riven putting himself out of his comfort zone for Musa. It’s beautiful 🥲🥲🥲
Least favourite episode: Season2 Episode 9 – Professor Avalon’s Secret (The Angel of Doom in 4kids)
The one where Tecna trades in her base fairy form's hat for a tinfoil hat.
This episode gives me so much secondhand embarrassment.
Favourite couple: Musa and Riven
I mean…. Yeah, obviously.
Least favourite couple: Aisha and Roy
Nabu should never have died
But he did and I have begrudgingly accepted that
BUT FFS LET AISHA MOURN. You made Nabu her soulmate, made them literally perfect together, killed him, made her rage for A SINGLE episode, be sorta sad for the rest of season 4 and the BOOM! Season 5 happens and she’s basically forgotten Nabu ever existed
NO! NON! JE REFUSE! C’EST D’LA CRISS DE MARDE. NON. NON. NON. NON. NON.
Also Roy’s hair looks like a highlighter. Like, y’all make fun of onion boy's hair (as do I because seriously why the fuck is with Riven's hair design), but this man looks like an office supply that has a single use. Onions are not only good to cook with in almost every single recipe in existence (barring desserts) (I am a very bad cook, so do not question me on this) (I am a great baker though, so I know for a fact that onions and dessert is a no no). but they’re also great for throwing at people!
Favourite sidekicks: The Specialists
Look me in the eyes and tell me you believe these idiots are anything more than sidekicks to their girlfriends.
If you said yes, ask yourself if you can remember them going on a single mission without it being to assist the winx since season 1? No. That’s right. You can’t.
These pretty boys exist solely to assist their girlfriends on missions and be eye candy. That’s it. That’s their purpose in life and they are excelling at it.
Least favourite sidekick: The pets
I hate the pixies, but they had their funny moments. These things on the other hand are abso-fucking-lutely useless.

What similarities do the Trix share with the ancestral witches (both in appearance and personality)? Do the Trix look like their ancestors when they were younger? Also are you going to write about Sapphire in your upcoming story and if you do, does she share any similarities with her ancestor?
I'm not sure for the canon series of events, so I'm only going to answer as far as "my" version of canon.
Under cut because this is loooong.
Belladonna-Icy:
As far as similarities go, Icy could be a dead ringer for Belladonna (as the saying goes). When alive, Belladonna was considered a terrifying sort of beautiful, with ice-white hair and piercing blue eyes.
Icy definitely has the hair and the eyes. Unlike Belladonna though, her face shape is more like her mother's side of the family, and her height is more from her mother's side as well. (Belladonna was a dangerous but petite woman.)
As far as clothing style goes, Icy dresses a bit more 'provocative' than what Belladonna did. (Considering Belladonna is from a time when women typically wore long dresses and robes and many, many layers.) However Icy does have Belladonna's love for capes/crowned back cloaks.
They also share their core magic as Ice Magic. Icy hasn't quite reached the level Belladonna reached yet, but she's still young.
Personality wise, they are extremely similar. Belladonna was an ambitious witch who wanted to rule over all, and as we've seen, Icy is the same way. Ambitious, a natural leader.
She's also cruel and cunning like Belladonna was, willing to cut down anyone in her path.
However, she's a bit more emotional than Belladonna was. Yes, Belladonna had her moments of 'avalanche causing/blizzard bringing/hail storm' temper tantrums, but they were far and few between. (She tended to be more quiet in her anger, but no less dangerous. The tantrums only happened with major setbacks... Like Griffin escaping them alive and when they realized they may not survive the fight on Domino.)
Icy, on the other hand, has a tendency to lose her cool and get overwhelmed with her anger, flash freezing everyone nearby.
Icy also is more likely to allow herself moments of joy and enjoyment, whereas Belladonna was definitely not much for 'resting and relaxing'. (Such frivolous activities wouldn't help their cause at all.)
And unlike Belladonna, Icy has allowed herself to have genuine feelings for others outside of her 'sisters'. Its only happened a time or two, but Icy has felt her little heart flutter once in a while. (Darko was a great guy... But there was too much going on around them.)
She and Belladonna are both selfish and have great egos/inflated senses of grandeur.
Belladonna was willing to steal both forms of the Dragon Fire and all powerful magic in the realms for herself and her sisters so they could rule the Magical Dimension by ushering in a "New Era of Darkness", thinking it was her calling to create more for her life. Of course her methods weren't 'friendly' and it started a whole war. (And centuries of building up a Cult disguised as a Coven.)
As for the selfish part of her plans, she tended to hoard more of the magic for herself, as she was 'the eldest'. She also tended to pick the strongest members for her personal Inner Circle.
Icy is much the same way, willing to toss her sisters under the bus if it means she gets the prize at the end. And she sees herself as becoming the next Grand Mistress of the new generation of Coven members, the one to usher in the New Era.
Lysslis-Darcy:
(I'm using the version of Lysslis' name that was present when I first started WINX, I have no idea when they changed it or if it was just an error in translation.)
Physically speaking, Darcy and Lysslis do look alike. Same golden eyes, same dark hair kept nice and long. About the same body shape (when Lysslis was alive and young that is). However Darcy's face shape is more like her mother's side of the family.
Like Lysslis, Darcy is also considered the more alluring of the trio, often using her sexuality and her looks to get what's needed. (Along with a dose of hypnosis/mind control magic for those who are a little more difficult.)
Clothing style wise, Darcy does share some fashion traits with Lysslis; wearing clothing that would be considered easy to move in and airy while also 'inviting'. (Though the most Darcy ever looked like her ancestor was when she wore that disguise against Jared.)
Darcy is admittedly taller than her ancestor, but not by much.
Magically, Darcy is incredibly similar to Lysslis, however she doesn't quite use her full potential like she should.
Lysslis was known for her grand illusions, her mind manipulations, her control over the very shadows within souls. And once her powers grew, she could even bring in spirits and ghosts to do her bidding, as well as psychically and psychologically torture her opponents.
Darcy could, in theory, do all of this. In fact, she has done it before. Often. But she's not into capturing and tormenting her opponents or creating 'sleeper agents' like her ancestor. Nor is she interested in twisting someone's mind so badly they kill themselves.
Basically, she's just not into it. She doesn't mind fucking with people's minds or using her powers to get what she wants (free stuff, people not to question why she's somewhere she shouldn't be, etc.), and she's all for defending herself however she has too. But to actively seek out people to psychologically traumatize isn't her thing. Honestly, it's too much work and not enough reward if it's not personal enough.
She also doesn't summon creatures as much as Lysslis did for her dirty work. It's a lot of power to summon things and she just doesn't want to waste power she may need for a direct fight than summon creatures she may not need.)
Personality wise; Darcy is bit lazier than Lysslis is. The goal for her isn't 'realm wide domination', though she's okay with helping her sister reach that goal. She's just in it for the fun and chaos it brings.
Ruling, to her is fun, in theory, but it's not a deep-rooted need. But in reality, she'd rather be the one planning or plotting. Studying. Researching. (Even if she gets called a nerd in the process.) But hey, what are sisters for if not helping each other rule the entire Magical Dimension?
She's actually a little bit like Lysslis that way. Researching and studying on magic and it's effects were something Lysslis took great pride in. (Though her experiments tended to be more... Extreme than Darcy's.)
Like Lysslis, Darcy is drawn to animals and manages to create strong bonds with the creatures she meets. However, unlike Lysslis, Darcy actually has some feeling toward the animals she brings in, whereas they were a means to an end for Lysslis.
Also like Lysslis, Darcy has a bit of a romantic sense about her. She enjoys the idea of dating and sex and being close to people. Granted, she also likes to toy with them, but there's still some genuine feeling there... Some... (Riven.)
But she's loyal to her sisters and their cause and she refuses to let herself become too sidetracked when it comes to their mission. (Lysslis was loyal to her sisters too, but she was also prone to have her part of the Coven members go do missions for her and her alone that tended to... Blow up. Darcy seldom ever does such things.)
Where Lysslis wouldn't hesitate to call Tharma and Belladonna, Darcy tends to follow her sisters' lead until it goes poorly. (Though she will make an effort to point out flaws or ways things could go wrong. It's why Icy comes to her for planning purposes.)
Like Lysslis, Darcy is one who will search out those who have wronged her and exact her revenge. (Unlike Lysslis, her success rate isn't the best considering her main targets are the Winx and they're still happily prancing about.)
Tharma-Stormy
Like Tharma, Stormy has the curled/kind of frizzy storm cloud hair. She's also got Tharma's face shape. Her eye color, however, is the same as her father's side.
She's smaller than Tharma is, actually. Her body shape is more like her father's side as well. (She has freckles like Tharma though! And is great at doing the same wild smile she does.)
Clothing wise, Stormy is a bit more provocative than Tharma was in her youth. Tharma was more into robes and anything loose and flowy, but modest in her wear.
Stormy prefers clothes she can move in and look great in. So... Major differences. (Of course, that's also because of differences from the times they're from.)
Power wise, Stormy is definitely Tharma's descendant. Tharma could create massive thunderstorms, devastating tornadoes, ravaging tsunamis, blinding blizzards, and horrific lightning storms. Stormy is much the same way.
And just like Tharma, the more damage she does, the more excited she becomes. She loves wrecking havoc and causing mayhem. Loves the pain she can cause by localizing her powers.
(Unlike Tharma, she's not quite as refined with her skills yet. But give her time.)
Personality wise, she's even more like Tharma. In fact, out of the Trix sisters and their Ancestors, Tharma and Stormy are the most alike.
She's sadistic, cruel, temperamental, and quick to fight. Tharma was just like that. Sadistic in her torture, cruel in her actions, and quick to fight whenever she felt slighted, even with her own sisters.
Like Tharma, she's also quick to get into physical fights. (And is pretty decent at physical fights as well, considering she enjoys using her magic any chance she gets.)
Tharma wasn't much for romance in her day, though she did enjoy 'having fun' from time to time. (Though how long any of her 'partners' lived varied...) Stormy... Much like that.
Stormy doesn't care for romance. She sees it as an unnecessary headache and just boring. As for sex, she's not really into it either. Can it be fun? Sure. Is it necessary? No.
Unlike Tharma, Stormy can find ways of enjoying herself that don't necessarily regard harming people or killing them. Like dancing or gaming, or even silly little makeover nights with her sisters.
Stormy tends to be a bit more hostile than Tharma was, as she's more willing to reject outsiders into her and her sisters' bubbles, whereas Tharma was fine with having new people to... "Teach".
The Case For Sapphire:
She's going to make an appearance, but it's not going to be too major. It's going to be a moment though.
Sapphire has no idea that Icy is her biological sister, nor do their parents remember having Icy. (My tie-ins thing on AO3 will tell you why. But basically, Lysslis had a vision of them losing the war and had their three youngest and most magically in-sync descendants would be found and raised to be their new puppets. So Darcy, Icy, and Stormy were essentially baby-napped and raised by hidden/underground Coven members to be 'triplet sisters' and fly under the radar. Which is why Griffin didn't think anything too odd of them despite recognizing their heritage.)
But she does have some distant similarities with Belladonna, though thanks to her raising, she's not quite like Icy.
Sapphire has the icy white hair and pale blue eyes that her sister and ancestor do. She also has powers over ice and snow. However, unlike Icy, she's not a witch... She's a fairy. Which has honestly blown the minds of her people. Though she's not completely surprised. Her mother's family tree does have light magic in there.
As the daughter of the Governor of Dyamond, she is polite and well-behaved around others. She's also quiet, a bit reserved.
But don't let that fool you; she does have a slight temper, one that could rival her sister's. It just takes a lot to get her there as she's normally quite a jolly young woman.
(I hope this answers your questions! Sorry it took so long, I had to plan this out.)

I really love the moments in Season 2 where Stormy acts on her own. And I like to think that Stormy is a lesbian and is in love with Musa. But she finds it difficult to open up, especially in the toxic environment of Icy and Darcy. And she is afraid whether her friends will accept her.
But she doesn’t know how to approach Musa, so she pursues her quite aggressively.
Stormy hasn't shown much interest in guys throughout the entire series. And she showed less interest in Valtor than others.
Stormy's straight hairstyle is amazing. Normal hair length and looks stylish. She is so beautiful, with a normal approach Musa would not have resisted
I like both pairings: Musa/Layla and Stormy/Musa

1, 8, 12 and 16 for the ask game (winx, but of course in the end you can choose the fandom 🙈)
~ leni
Don't think I forgot about you its not the case! Let's dive into this...
1 the character everyone gets wrong
Tumblr media
There are so many characters this fandom gets wrong... But let's be honest Riven is still receiving trash for his season 1 character while he grew so much in seasons 2 and 4. He is seen as "an arrogant and toxic jerk who doesn't deserve Musa". And he is not. He's a guy suffering a terrible inferiority complex that he tries to hide behind a false superiority complex. He's a guy who grew alone, was abandoned by his mother, saw rich people get better than him easier because they could afford everything that he couldn't and he is an arrogant jerk in first half of season 1 because it's his protection. We see in the terrible episode where he is mind-tortured by Darcy (and actually I sometimes wonder if she did that to make him suffer or to make him grow) that he acknowledges his mistakes and wants to become a better person. and what people seem to get wrong is that HE DID change and became a better person. When people say he is the toxic one in season 4 it annoys me because they were both toxic for each other and when he realised it, what did he do? He tried to repare his mistakes. Riven deserves more love.
8 common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Tumblr media
"Valtor is the best Winx Club villain". Sorry not sorry, I really am not a huge fan of him. Probably because his french voice makes him look like an arrogant jerk. Which he is. But I just don't get what he has that is more interesting than the Trix, Darkar (honestly he IS the best villain) or Wizards of the Black Circle (they are my favourites I'm biased) and is nowhere near the level of the Ancestral Witches. Do people love him because they find him beautiful? I really don't know because he's so overrated to me when he lost in such a shitty way (but it's because the end of the season was rushed). He is a really good villain I won't deny it. But is he superior to all the other villains we've been introduced to? If we only talk about the four first seasons I don't think so.
12 the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them
Tumblr media
Krystal wins this post easily. People hate her for the whole drama in season 5 when it's clear that she's a sixteen years-old girl who acts without thinking bad and who tries her best to help. Yes she's being very close to Helia and wants his approval and attention but she is introduced as a childhood friend and we know that even with the reboot, Helia is older than the rest of the group and older than Krystal which always made evident to me that she saw him as this big brother she had to impress. To me she never showed a romantic interest in him and had more romantic tension when she apologizes to Flora than in any other scene. Yes, she's put in scenes for plot sake like when she heals Sky or Helia but it's not her fault and she acts out of pure goodness and good heart. She deserves more than being insulted all the time by a part of this fandom. She's an adorable fairy, she would make an awesome couple with Galatea and she deserves to be recognized, finally, as the adorable girl she is.
16 you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay it's a though one to be honest because there are many options and I don't know where to start. But to be honest I'm gonna have to go with Mirta because I already explained everything here. Also I would say I don't get why so many people love Valtor/Icy. They could be a powerful couple but I don't feel like he had a different relationship with her than with Darcy and Stormy.

Were Darcy and Stella set up to be narrative foils?
A lot of people showed an interest in my “hot take” (although it really isnt a hot take lol) post about Darcy and Stella being supposed narrative foils and asked me to elaborate. And in full disclosure..,, The more I think about this take the more stupid it sounds but then again, the dumber the theory, the more I like it. And I think this one is pretty cool, even if it might be my imagination and my tendency to overanalyze details that weren’t actually meant to mean anything all. But first things first. I’ve received two questions about what narrative foils are, so here’s a short description that I copied from wikipedia; a foil is a character who contrasts with another character [...] in order to better highlight or differentiate certain qualities [of each other]. And this is exactly what I think Stella and Darcy were meant to do; to contrast each other while also highlighting that witches and fairies really aren’t all that different.
Tumblr media
Now, why do I think they were meant to be narrative foils? Well, to begin with, the writers of Winx really seem to enjoy making their heroes and villains foils. Bloom is a narrative foil to both Icy and Valtor, and one could argue that Faragonda and Griffin are as well. With Stella and Darcy, the first thing to look at is what might be the most obvious part of this relationship; the powers. The relationship between their respective powers parallels the relationship between Blooms and Icy’s fire/ice powers. Light and dark, clarity and deceit. Their powers are two sides of the same coin. Light powers have commonly been associated in almost all cultures with truth, enlightenment and protection, while dark powers are connected with chaos, mental disarray and manipulation, and yet one can not exist without the other. Just take a look at some traditional symbols in many cultures, yin and yang, the celebration of midsummer and the equinox as the times where light and dark are equal. They always contrast each other, it’s their one inherent quality.
Further, Stella and Darcy have personalities that share strong similarities while simultaneously being complete opposites - once again highlighting the yin/yang kind of relationship, where there’s always bound to be a similarity between light and dark. Stella is impulsive and cheerful, loud and expressive. Darcy is all about control, and she’s very emotionally restrictive. But they share some interesting similarities. They both operate as second in command in their respective groups. They’re the respective “hot girl”-stereotype as well, but they live this out in very different ways. Both of them are obviously very pretty and know that their looks can gain them attention and get their will through. Stella expresses at several points that she often feels that people struggle to see past her appearance and that she often feels people only see her as pretty. Darcy also uses her beauty to have people do her bidding, the most obvious example is the Riven ordeal in season one. They’re also both the most fashion-conscious within their respective groups.
Now, let’s talk about character design. Darcy and Stella have the same eye color. And it’s an uncommon eye color, which has led many people in the fandom to speculate if Darcy might be Solarian. Straffi actually put a lot of love and effort into character designs, enough effort to hire actual high fashion designers to help draw the outfits of the show. And so, I’d like to think that not much was left to just pure coincidence. Additionally, it’s an interesting detail to note that Darcy’s secondary color is gold, and Stella is often presented with some purple in her transformations. Here, have these shitty side by side comparisons I made to show my point (and thanks to @bitchatcloudtower for helping me notice this!);
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think that the creators of the show were trying to make a point to highlight these narrative similarities in season one, but then gave up and settled with having Bloom/Icy as the main narrative foil relationship. The Stella/Darcy one is only shown a few times in later seasons but is a bit more prominent early on in the show. In the episode “Date with disaster.” Darcy disguises herself as Stella in order to steal her ring. They chose to specifically send Darcy to steal the ring, despite the trix being fully capable of using illusion powers to send anyone (we see them turn Knut into a human, and Stormy can change her appearance in season two). Arguably, Icy would have been a better actress and had more success at finding the ring, sending her would have made more sense. I think that sending Darcy was a deliberate choice made by the creators to highlight that they were setting Stella and Darcy up as narrative foils, similarly to how they were setting Bloom and Icy up. But like many early subplots in winx, it was buried and forgotten about, or in this case just never explored that much more. Intentional or not, I think it’s an interesting thought.

Darcy
Darcy is a sucker for romance
She’s a bit shy and awkward, despite her semi-scary looking demeanor
(She’s 6’0 and has resting bitch face)
Darcy isn’t going to be super obvious or up-front about her feelings at first though
It will be the cliche “we’ve been friends for 10 years and everyone knows we like each other except us”
Darcy will always have a hand on you. She wants to feel your presence
subtle touches, little “pinky holding” or her playing with strands of your hair
Her poking any freckles you have when she first discovers them
You’re one of the few people she let’s mess with her hair. Which is a telling sign
“Your hair looks nice Darce” “thanks, (Y/N) did it” “oh worm? 👀”
She loves having you run your hands through her hair, it soothes her
Sometimes, if you can’t make it to the cave— bad weather, car trouble, etc.— shell come over and you guys watch a movie together
Darcy’s got an extensive tape collection of rom-coms, so she’ll pop one into the tv and snuggle under covers with you
She’s probably going to ask to borrow your clothes if she’s “really cold” since she exclusively wears sports bras and her leather jacket
Also she likes that your sweaters and sweatshirts smell like you
But you’ll definitely have to have been friends for awhile before she even CONSIDERS telling you how she feels
“I live forever. I have to be sure about my feelings and what if I get rejected?” “Anyone who rejects you is stupid. Almost stupid as Michelle—“ “HEY!”
But overtime she’ll try to make things more obvious— to the point where Pauline and Marcella are teasing you both and then she kind of HAS to come clean
But you find it sweet!
And a bit shocking, someone as powerful and strong and amazing and gorgeous as her, has feelings for YOU??? damn okay babe
Dominique
Dom is going to be a bit cold at first
It’s not necessarily intentional, but she just has this aura of mystery around her
Those icy blue eyes that peer into your soul
And anyway she wants to get to know what you like and if you like her
If not, she can’t exactly force you
Cough cough Michelle cough cough
Anyway, Dominique will try to learn about the things you like so you have something to talk about
Even if they aren’t her cup of tea. She’s a good listener and likes seeing your face light up and you so passionate about a subject/hobby
Dom is going to steal buy you things she thinks you’d like
“You said you liked cherry chapstick. I got you some.” “I got you some chips and your favorite soda in case you’re hungry” “Here. I saw this giant care bear and thought of you.”
It’s sweet, but you feel a bit flustered and embarrassed, not giving her anything in return
“Seeing you smile is enough, Kitten”
Speaking of! Pet names!
Dominique finds using your full/actual name too personal
So if you have a nickname she’ll use it. If not she’s given you pet names— most notable are Kitten and Pumpkin
She’s not big on physical touch but sometimes she’ll put the idea of it into your mind so you want it
She won’t manipulate you, but she wants you to come to her. She’s had too many bad experiences where she confessed first, and she doesn’t want another one
So when you do finally confess to her she’s all smug and knowing
“I um… I really like you… and uh well—“ “I know.” “Oh…” “I like you too.”  “Oh!”
 Marcella
She’s going to be playful and flirty with you but quick to deny anything the other girls accuse her of
“No I don’t have feelings for (Y/N)! Shut up!” “Haha you so do!”
She’s rowdy and high energy but also more quiet than Pauline
So she’s not going to just blurt it out or recite sonnets for you
Instead she’ll give you a patch she was going to put on her jacket. Or make you a cool little pin
She’ll constantly hype you up if you’re wanting to try new fashion styles or wear something out of your comfort zone
“You look amazing! Better than any girl out on the boardwalk” “You really think so?” “I would never lie to you. Honest.”
She’ll let you braid her hair and stick all kinds of colorful little clips and barrettes in her curls
(I know they weren’t popular until the 90s but imagining covering her hair in hundreds of little butterfly clips!)
Honestly she’ll be like those movie scenes where “do you like it?” *it’s hideous* “if not you don’t have to wear it!” “No. I’m never taking it off.”
She asks you to help care for her pigeons so you guys can bond together more
“Does Pauline or Sebastian usually help you feed them?” “No. No one does. I don’t let them.” “Oh…”
If someone upsets you she's ready to go and have them as her meal for the night
Sometimes you have to stop her
“Look! Cathy from my work is a total bitch but you can’t kill her! I won’t have anyone to cover my shift tomorrow”
“Fine… You're lucky I love you”
“What?”
“What?”
She’d probably accidentally tell you and then act like she has no idea what you could be talking about
“Well I like you too. But I dunno… Dom’s pretty cute too—“
“Oh that’s it!” She’s definitely smothering you in little kisses and tickling you, getting you say you’re sorry and say you think she’s the cutest
 Pauline
She’s just going to blurt it out point blank.
Why wait? If Pauline likes someone, she likes someone! She may be immortal but she’s also immortally impatient
She tells you she likes you so much you start to think she’s kidding
But she’s not!
She’ll bring you baked goods edibles and take you out to concerts and maybe steal your shoelace to wear on her wrist
Sometimes you’ll have little “sleepovers” and you’ll hangout at the cave. Usually this means sharing a joint and watching her play songs on her guitar
She’s definitely not exclusively playing romantic songs for you
One night she’ll get high and just pour her heart out to you
“And I think you’re one of the coolest people I’ve ever met, and I’ve met a lot of people, babe… And sure, I’m definitely a bit ditzy but I’m not completely stupid! I know you don’t believe me, but I really really like you! I think about you a lot and I hate when you have to leave right before the sun rises. And on nights you can’t hangout with us it’s so boring! We do the same things every night, but you always make them special. I really like you babe… I really really like you…”
She’ll wanna take you out on a little date to one of the small bands playing on the boardwalk and you’ll both dance together and she’ll be real giddy and excited and probably kiss you but it’s really messy and quick because she was just so wrapped up in the music!
 Michelle
She’s really obvious
Like, staring at you with heart eyes when she first sees you out on the boardwalk
She’ll try to not-so-subtly follow you around. She’s not being creepy, but she just wants to admire your beauty
She thinks she’ll never see you again
Imagine her surprise when she sees you again!
“Told you! She probably lives around town” “Shut up Sam!”
You’ll eventually confront her and ask what her deal is
“Oh! Uh, um, well, I just— I... like... your outfit?...”
She’s bad at coming up with an alibi
“thanks. I get most of my clothes at the thrift store away from the boardwalk. Wanna join sometime?” “Uh yeah! Sounds good!”
She’s going to do some dumb things to impress you— racing on her bike, getting more piercings, dressing in lots of leather, offering to buy you food— but you think it’s cute
She’ll follow you around like a lost puppy at times, partially cause she’s new in town
Sam likes you though!
When you and Michelle hangout, you’ve usally got the braincell and you don’t tease Sam for liking comics so much
“No Samantha, I’m not taking you to the comic shop” “Aww Sammy I will!” “Thanks (Y/N)! You’re the best”
Honestly you knew the whole time she liked you! You had moments of doubt but she’s always so obvious about it. Once you even swore she drooled over you
A bit gross, but you were also eating ice cream so…
Visiting her at work! She’s a lifeguard down at the beach! She’s definitely trying to get you visit her ;) and go swim and sunbathe ;) maybe have her “perform cpr” on you ;)
But you’d still have to make the first move if you wanted it to go any further
 Sebastian
He’s got this aura of mystery around him
But he’ll steal glances if he spots you in the crowd, thinking you’re cute
The lost girls will want him to bring you back to the cave
He will, but not for awhile
It will be small one on one hangouts and dancing together on the boardwalk
Walking in and out of shops, saying you’ll buy things but you never will
Sebastian will offer to pierce your ears and paint your nails
Night swimming together!
Sebastian definitely has really floral swim trunks, almost like tacky dad Hawaiian shirt print
He’ll do the thing where he’s under water for a long time and then jump up and scare you
Once you meet the girls you’re all playing games together like sharks and minnows, chicken
Sebastian always wants to team up with you though. Even if teams aren’t a part of the game
He likes to read. He’ll spend a good amount of time at the bookstore on the boardwalk, staying there for hours reading books, and leaving with a whole stack
If YOU have a book he wants to read/borrow he will definitely maybe leave a little sticky note in it as a thank you
“thank you! ur sweet :D <3”
Laura will love you!!
She’s very close to Sebastian and everyone thinks they’re siblings, and they most definitely have the dynamic
So if Laura likes you, Sebastian will definitely like you. I mean, he already does, Laura just kind of seals the deal, ya know?
Dominique and Pauline will be the most blunt about Sebastian’s feelings for you
“He’s like Darcy. Not necessarily the most obvious but you can tell”
“It’s so obvious. He like, talks about you all the time when you aren’t around and he’s got this real love sick look in his eyes”
Dominique is going to interrogate you to see if you’re “worthy” or not of Sebastian.
“Sebastian is my— our friend— like a brother almost. Hurt him and I will kill you :) that is a promise”
Once she deems you good enough she’s going to push Seb into asking you out. “You guys already go on enough ‘dates’ just make it official” “no” “-_-“ “hhh fine”
Sebastian is going to be really simple with it but also kind of coy and shy. He’s nervous. He’s much rather you asked him out or confessed your feelings but he’s willing to go first. He finds himself trying to compete and keep up with the girls. He’s the only boy, and while it may not matter he doesn’t want to seem weak and pathetic while they’re big strong vampires
Anyway once he tells you how he feels he’s all red in the face and nervous!! Poor boy
He’ll constantly ask to kiss you all the time, worried maybe you don’t want him to but you’re always reassuring “yes, Seb. you can have a kiss” “thank you”

❛  let  him  go ,  it’s  not  worth  it .  ❜ > late but :))) Beatrice ❤️
@wonderloste
Tumblr media
The succubus’ voice sounds beautiful to those who hear it, but the charm has never been an ability to capture the ever-cold heart of winter ‘till it came from the place of a warm heart. Valentin was the only one who was able to warm her heart, to welcome the spring without the drowning of the Morana’s doll, there was no sharpness and no harshness to his touch. Her beloved was a King in both title and in his heart, she heard from others how he changed over the course of centuries; she doesn’t believe her change will ever come for she did not harbor hatred nor love for this land. What is the opposite emotion of love? It wasn’t hatred; it was indifference. Her heart only cried for the loss of her heart and her sunshine, warmth would no longer exist within her. Her home from her world is gone from reach, her home here will never wake up; there is no way to go, there is only stagnation. She no longer has a place to return and to belong to. It was the nightmare she never wished to encounter, the moment of despair and the moment of loss.
If only Beatrice didn’t say anything, her end might’ve been less cruel. As if.
Does she even need to spare any time for this woman? Less than dirt under her boots, Zarina remains silent as she places one last kiss on Valentin’s forehead. A silent farewell.
The silence doesn’t last long.
The sound flesh being pierced with a sharp object is heard from behind, the blood splatter taints her silver hair. Zarina is silent as she knows exactly what is going on. She doesn’t need to turn around to know that one of the ice spears created behind Beatrice has pierced her shoulder in less than a blink of an eye. Does she wish to start a monologue? How pitiful. Sokolova lets the ice embrace everything, with a sigh out the ground beneath her was covered in frost and ice, she can hear the demon jumping away, dragging the icy spear out, but forgetting that it continues to spread the frost into her very bones and bloodstream. It’s already too late as the natural disaster could care less about what anyone tries to put in front of it. A disaster is called one for a reason.
The maiden of winter and death stands up after making sure the body of Romanov is carefully stored inside an ice coffin. It makes her think of the Snow White tale, but this sleeping beauty will never open his eyes ever again. His sunshine smile will not grace this land and bring spring, and then summer, into wonderland anymore. So why should anyone who allowed this to happen remain here? All of these people only relied on Valentin to save them, but now that he isn’t here? Ah, she can hear the soldiers whisper ‘Alice’ all around her. They have never seen anyone aside from ‘Alice.’ Only Valentin and Darcy have called her by her name, only they have seen her as who she is and they would have remained the only two saved if such were to come when Valentin was alive.
These Wonderlanders… As if they were worth more than a speck of dust from up the shelves, they are a sore to her eyes and she wants it to be quiet. Deathly quiet. They think she will become their savior who will protect them from Beatrice, it must be nice to have hope that someone will save them from this tyranny. They are weak, meaningless, faceless to her now. They’d look better as statues. Statues made of ice. But they continue to cheer, not understanding that they should’ve run for their lives as well. She can sense every single one of them, the frost covering the ground tells her exact numbers and she will be able to silence them all: with spikes, with needles, with frostbites.
Alice!
Alice!
Alice!
They are so noisy.
With a wave of her hand, Zarina silences them as well. The screams echo and it becomes even more troublesome; the looks of shock and surprise and betrayal are now present on everyone’s face, but it’s too late. Similarly to Vlad the Impaler, she brings his name up in the way how the white snowy ground is now colored in red, red, red. It happens too quickly, such is her mercy on them. The snow starts to fall from the skies, it gives her a wider range to understand how others move. Every snowflake is a weapon in the hands of an Ice Elemental of Natural Disaster, it could turn into anything in a blink of an eye.
They do, turning countless figures upon landing on the ground. She can hear Beatrice’s scream and her clawing at her arm that has turned into ice and continues to her shoulder. She almost looks beautiful like that, looking in shock, but Sokolova doesn’t pay attention to her as much as she places her hand on the head of one of the created ‘nightmares.’ Its eyes shine white, it hits the ground with its heavy tail, the empress of ice and snow will let them loose on those who is still alive. Immortals or not, they will be turned to ice and remain here, evermore.
“ Don’t let anyone escape, ” Zarina says in the midst of the screams as she sends the creatures of nightmares after those who are running away from the battlefield. Monsters, monsters, monsters… Humans. Everything is only limited to the imagination of the one who creates the warriors of ice. From animals to human figures to mythical creatures she got to see in books and in Wonderland. They feel nothing, they feel no pain and they only have one mission: to annihilate. The moment Wonderland lost King of Hearts, they’ve lost all hope. The moment the only chain holding back the beast was broken, all Hell broke loose. The frost will cover the Kingdom of Hearts, coloring it into white and red, drowning its frigid ground in scarlet liquid and tears of those who tried to go against their evident fate to be killed by the hands of the frigid apocalypse.
As the creatures of her ‘mercy’ would go off, Zarina finally brings her attention back to the one who started it all. Instead of letting her escape, she makes sure the ground has her frozen in place. The icy hands that appear from the snow tug at her hair and at her limbs, digging their nails into the flesh. As if magic will work here now. Sokolova can feel the ice climb to her own neck now (ready to suffocate the last remains of humanity), she breathes out steam and her eyes glow dangerously as she looks at Beatrice.
Who is the monster now?
Tumblr media
“ Let your life go, it’s not worth it. ” She says to her, tilting her head to the side. Apathetic, she is wholly and fully apathetic in her delivery. Monotone can rival that one of Jabberwocky, certainly. Zarina knows she must remain vigilant, but as the blood spills behind and in front and around, she is aware of everything that is happening all too well. How is the Queen of Hearts rendered to this in such a short period of time? No, it’s not short― for she is able to get out, but it’s all meaningless. She underestimated the current ‘Alice’ and Zarina isn’t one to let her prey escape, especially when it came to revenge. Their battle may become legendary, but there is no one to witness this legend.
Someone growls. Someone attacks. Someone avoids. Someone repels. Someone falls. Someone gets up. Someone, someone, someone.
There is no soul to tell the tale of how ‘Alice’ and Queen of Hearts fought. There is only blood, blood, and more blood.
… … …
The land of Hearts is silent aside from the gut-wrenching screams coming from one who had once ruled this land unfairly. The Queen of Hearts’s body is mangled, broken, but still alive. The tools made of ice float around her, covered in scarlet as Zarina sit on her self-created chair, putting her elbow on the armrest and watching the work done with surgical precision. Each cut, each sting, each hit. Is Beatrice missing teeth? Is she missing fingers and are those fingers missing nails? Are her limbs still attached? Is her eye present? Is she blind? Countless questions can be asked about the current state of the ‘Queen’ who has taken away the only important person in the elemental’s life.
Zarina can feel the ice taking away her humanity, it lingers at its last strings, but she cannot let herself yet give in to the mutation. There is still some things to be done, she cannot break down. But she notices, she’s been torturing Beatrice for hours on end without stopping, finding each and every way to let her live yet be unable to attack, to do anything but hopelessly cry and scream, but it will not bring back Valentin. It will not. But it continues. Beatrice’s screams continue, but nothing reaches Sokolova Zarina’s ears, she is absent-minded in receiving this: torture has never been something she enjoyed doing. This is nothing but retribution. For taking away what was hers.
Was she doing this for Valentin? She doesn’t know anymore.
It was her own selfish desire, her own selfish wish to see this woman suffer as much as she could make her. When Beatrice begged, Zarina would give her a glimpse of hope before dropping yet another couple of drops of her own blood on the woman’s skin or into her wounds, bringing even more hellish screams out of her. After all, now Sokolova’s blood was at its strongest and most dangerous. Akin to liquid nitrogen, but so much stronger now. It must’ve been scary to watch this, the ashen haired maiden seemed bored with this showcase yet she continued with the same determination and attention to detail as always. Cruel, merciless, unforgiving, judging, bored. The boredom found its way into her heart, shutting away her emotions before she got up. She should find a way to kill this immortal but for now she’ll be continuously tortured for days and days, there will be days where she’ll catch a break to get some hope only for it be taken away: again, and again, and again. There will be no rest for the wicked.
As she gets up from her throne, it dissipates into snowflakes and then into nothingness. The Kingdom of Hearts cannot be recognized anymore. There are countless statues frozen in time, once soldiers and once allies/friends who Valentin brought to fight the one who was begging to be killed. Sokolova isn’t merciful and kind enough to let her get what she wants as she passes by, but the tools continue their work even without Zarina’s presence. Everything created from ice belongs to her and is controlled by her, never-ending and it will never stop. They are semi-sentient, they’ll remain doing what they were ordered until they are broken or let go. Such is the disastrous power of an Elemental, the ability to end the life of a planet. However, Sokolova has one last thing she wishes to do as she waves her hand again and lets the coffin with the body of her beloved float next to her as she walks down the roads towards the Castle of Hearts.
She doesn’t care for the furniture, for the design, for anything that is already dead.
Zarina passes the gates. The gardens. The halls. She enters the room with the throne that belongs to Valentin Romanov - the King of Heart. And then, the one who was called ‘Alice’ by everyone but two people opens the coffin and picks up the one who made everything before worth it, but no more. Carrying him bridal style, Zarina finally feels her iron will start to crack as each step forward and towards the throne makes her sob louder and her shoulders shake as she cannot feel any warmth within herself or in her hands. Her body up to her neck is ice and frost, almost transparent to eyes. But it doesn’t matter, what matters is that with each step her mind returns to the memories created with her heart, her soul, her king.
His smile. His laugh. His strength. His flaws. His strengths. His everything.
From the moment they met to the point where they are right now. It all breaks the dam of her cold control, making her sob and weep for the one who had departed without even saying goodbye. Step after step, memory after memory that shatters into nothingness, and then when she is right in front of the throne that remained untouched, does Zarina apologize to Valentin once more before placing him on the throne, settling him down as he was supposed to be here. Instead of simply leaving, she reaches her hand up to his cheek, the skin slowly started to transform into ice itself as it did with all those statues outside. He will remain here, eternally, frozen in time but only his shell.
Tumblr media
“ Прости меня, Валентин… Прости меня, ” Zarina’s voice breaks as she falls to her knees, covering her face and crying loudly. In this silent kingdom and in this empty room, only her sobs are heard and will be heard for the next hour.
Only until they become quiet and the woman feels her body become heavier. Only then she glances one last time at the frozen statue of the King of Hearts before walking out of the room, shutting the door behind and leaving her beloved’s face behind. Her steps echo in the empty halls, in the frozen gardens, in the abandoned halls. There is no rot anymore, only ice and snow.
And when she exists through the gates, the White Rabbit is there. As always. Ever present. Zarina meets his gaze and he will see the heartbreak, the pain, the despair. She who has never shown anything but confidence and strength now succumbed to the grief of loss, stumbling forward and almost falling down before him. She no longer looks like a human, not with the exposed skin looking ice, reflecting the light of the cold Sun. With her eyes glowing in golden and white, pupil changing into something else, not with fangs peaking out when she opens her mouth to say something but nothing comes but and she shuts her lips tight before passing by.
Wonderland will remain silent, frozen in time, but she could give less of a fuck about this land and its people. Her reason to live here disappeared, she will never bring it back and she will never find it again.
Only with time later does Zarina finally stop, she knows Darcy White follows every footstep without speaking out until it’s allowed. With a heavy heart does the woman sit down under another frozen tree, leaning against it with her back. Her golden eyes find the White Rabbit and she can feel the ice slowly start to leave her neck, but it’s too late. She knows sooner or later, the metamorphosis will find her, but she hopes it’ll kill her. She hopes this is the end, but for now, she’ll be here, watch the white and the silent.
“ I don’t feel anything. ” Zarina says, closing her eyes. “ Only void. ” No anger, no grief, no happiness; nothing. “ Only cold. ” Her lips tremble as she thinks of Romanov once again, it makes her heart ache despite the void and cold. He’s not here to fill the abyss and to warm the winter. He’s not here. He’s not going to be back. “ I hope they all died, every single last one of them. ”
So there will be no more Wonderland.

Chapter 31 Sneak Peek
In his arms, Darcy was laughing.
She lay back against his chest, her head slotting perfectly under his chin, and she laughed. It was sunlight to his soul, bright and pure and warm and kind and it softened every jagged edge inside of him. Steve pressed a lingering kiss into her hair and tightened his arms around her middle, making her giggle even more—a happy sound that he could have listened to for the rest of his life.
Below, Bucky sprawled across both of their laps, using their thighs as his personal pillows. Darcy’s fingers were carding through his long hair, nails scraping gently across his scalp until the man was all but putty in her hands. His dark head swiveled up, love-drunk eyes openly watching her before crinkling around the edges, squinting like two happy half-moons. That gray gaze then slid upwards and met Steve’s soft look.
It was like staring into a marbled sky moments before the sun broke through.
“Love you,” Bucky mouthed to him and Steve’s heart swelled and swelled and swelled until it threatened to burst.
In this place there were no shadows, no war, no death. In this place Darcy’s skin was not littered in scars and Bucky’s arm was warm and whole.
In this place Steve did not burn.
He would have been content to spend eternity here, if it weren’t for the tug on his shoulder, soft but insistent.
Steve jolted and inhaled on instinct, lungs gasping for air as he surged back into consciousness. It was not a peaceful float to the surface; it was sudden and jarring, like the leg of a once trusted chair snapping beneath him. Pain was the first thing to register, a raw kind of agony, as if someone or something had pried him open and scrambled all of his insides. Blood trickled down his shredded throat and he swallowed with a grimace.
Another tug and a voice, quietly murmuring—urging.
“Wake up.”
Blue eyes fluttered open; everything was a blur. Icy rain stung his skin like a thousand needles, cold mud seeped into his suit, and thunder cracked through the air, so loud and so deep it rolled over his skin and shook the ground beneath him. A second later, the sky splintered in a dazzling flash of light as white-hot electricity threaded the earth to the clouds.
And hovering over him, silhouetted against that bright flash of light, was a strange face. Strange because they were familiar; strange because they were dead.
Or at least they were supposed to be.
And then it struck him—
The stone.
Steve’s heart lurched in his chest. The world spun and tipped itself out before righting once more. He blinked and blinked again in disbelief, in fear, in hope, in a painful, terrified mixture of all three.
“T…” he started with a sandpaper rasp. “T’Challa?”
The Wakandan king’s mouth curved and brown eyes softened in relief. His dark brows rose and he dipped his chin, nodding once. “On your feet, Captain.”
Stunned, Steve could not move.
“Am I dreaming?”
“This is no dream,” T’Challa assured him softly. He lifted his head and spun on his haunches, looking at something Steve could not see. A light filled the king’s eyes, both kind and fierce. He glanced down at Steve where he lay, beaten and broken, and T’Challa’s words pierced right through his weary heart. “Hope has not deceived you.”
The words sank beneath his skin, cutting into the meat of his heart, and Steve’s eyes misted. There were things he wanted to say, to ask, but the words couldn’t make it through his tightened throat. For a long moment, he could not even breathe. It felt surreal, liminal.
Hope has not deceived you.
It was strange, almost, how hope felt more dangerous, more treacherous, than the very war surrounding him. A fight could destroy his body, but hope? Hope, or rather hope lost, could ruin his soul. It had been a long time since he allowed himself to truly hope and so when it bloomed in the center of his chest now, like a warm pool of sunlight cascading down his limbs and filling him to the brim, he shook under its raw power.
“Are there,” Steve swallowed heavily, his voice thick, “Are there others? How many?”
T’Challa watched him closely and the corners of his eyes fanned out in a warm smile. The Wakandan king shifted on the balls of his feet and held out his hand. “Rise and see for yourself.”
Steve opened his mouth to respond when an animalistic roar ripped through the air like a serrated knife. The blond stiffened, recognizing the Hulk’s bellow of rage instantly. His heart pounded painfully in his chest and before he could stop it, that dangerous, treacherous hope inside of him grew wings and took flight.
It rose up the length of his throat and surged out of his mouth in a single, wet, hysterical sob of a laugh. He clapped his hand over his mouth and his eyes screwed shut.
All around him, the rain continued to fall.
Finally, Steve sniffed and wiped his face. With a grunt, he slapped his hand into the king’s waiting palm and it was the strength of the Black Panther, not his own, that pulled him to his feet. Instantly, his back erupted in a blinding pain and he staggered, groaning, shoulders hunching as his muscles trembled and stretched. Steve shook and panted through chapped lips, trying to push past the all-consuming agony. His vision blurred, static around the edges, and then finally, he lifted his gaze to the battlefield—
And froze.
Over the last few months, Steve had grown accustomed to the feeling of shock. He knew what it tasted like, how it jolted through his veins, paralyzing him, but this shock was not one born out of terror or dread.
The shock that rolled through him now was one of awe.
The battle still raged; the rain had sunk the fires back into the earth and a white-gray smoke clouded the blood-soaked ground. Explosions flung mud in the air, coating the chaos of fighting armies in filth until it was near impossible to tell who was who. But beyond all of that, beyond the looming warships and the waves of Chitauri and the wolf-like monsters of Thanos, was something else entirely.
Amid the debris and the bombed-out craters and the piles of bodies littering the ground vast beyond number and recognition was an army—and not just any army.
It was the Avengers.
His team, his friends, his family; the world’s last hope. All of them, every last one he had watched dissolve into ash just months ago.
They were scattered but they fought like creatures that exhaustion, despair, and even death itself could not subdue. And even beyond that, a great host of Wakandan warriors were charging into the fray with what was left of the Asgardians and the Skrulls.
And for the first time since any of this began, they were pushing Thanos’ army back to the tree line; theywere overwhelming their enemy.
Wonder overtook him, and indescribable joy; it was beautiful—stunning, robbing him of all thought and word, and for a moment, Steve wished he could paint this.
The only thing that was missing—
Steve’s stomach dropped.
His mind splintered into a million pieces upon the realization and fear prickled along his skin like the legs of a thousand spiders. Panicked, Steve spun around wildly, searching the chaos for two familiar shapes.
“What is it? What is wrong?”
Snapping his head up, a wild kind of insanity tugged at the edges of his mind as he held T’Challa’s worried gaze. Because if the stone had knocked himout cold, he could only imagine what it had done to Bucky, let alone Darcy. In fact, he knew all too well what that stone did to her every time she touched it and the memories that flooded his mind had him in a blind terror.
“There’s a woman,” Steve gasped out, choking on the words, his eyes still roving over the vast, simmering field. Raindrops slid down his face, dripped from his nose, his jaw, his chin. “Darcy. I need to find her. I have to find her—she was hurt pretty bad and… She’s—and Bucky—”
A blood-curling scream.
Steve whipped around, heart in his throat. Somewhere to his right there was a high-pitched female scream—a wail, really—and Steve had never heard Darcy make a noise like that before, but he knew instantly that it was her.
His heart told him so.
Steve couldn’t see her, couldn’t see much of anything beyond the flurry of war and the blasts from the enemy’s weapons. He paled and his vision spun as a new and torrential kind of fear seared through every vein in his body.
“Go,” T’Challa urged at his side and Steve snapped his head around, panting and trembling all over. The king clasped his shoulder, tilting his head toward him. “Do what you must. We will meet when this is over, my friend.”
Unable to do anything but nod, Steve mustered up the very last of his strength (all he had left) and turned and ran into the heart of the battle. Even as the abyss of terror threatened to pull him under, Steve felt something inside of him shift, something endless and ancient, and suddenly his spine was carved out of steel. He was going to find her, both her and Bucky, and he was going to get them out of this place—even if it broke his back and heart and left nothing but his bones behind.
He was going to find them both and he was going to bring them home.

Aight, time for Icy's headcanons!
- She's the eldest Trix and she absolutely uses this as an excuse to order Darcy and Stormy around.
- Her real name is Azurine. Her classmates choose the nickname 'Icy' for her after seeing her do magic for the first time and she just went along with it.
- She was born on the Ice Kingdom, but her family moved to Whisperia when she was 7. Her father was an ambassador for the Ice Kingdom, but after seeing Whisperia for the first time during one of his travels, he fell in love with its beauty and decided to go live there with his family.
- She used to be a fairy, but decided to become a witch at the age of 15. Losing her wings left two scars between her shoulder blades.
- The reason behind this choice is the fact that she didn't feel comfortable as a fairy anymore and that, after meeting Darcy, she'd been fascinated by dark magic and witches.
- Even if she would never admit it, she became a witch mostly because she didn't want to get separated from Darcy after middle school.
- Her family wasn't happy with her choice and always blamed it on Darcy. This is why Icy hasn't talked with them since leaving Whisperia for Magix.
- Darcy was her first real friend. There are no secrets between the two of them and they'd both risk their lives to save the other.
- She's 180 cm/5'9" and wears heels to reach Darcy's height. Darcy does the same thing to keep on being taller than her.
- She's ticklish.
- She and Stormy pull pranks on one another at least once a week. It's a war that started in their first year together at CT and none of them is planning on giving up anytime soon.
- She smokes when she's nervous. When she feels especially anxious, she steals from Darcy's weed stash.
- Differently from other witches, she can heal with her magic too. It's the only thing that still ties her to her old fairy powers.
- She can do water magic too (she did so in s1e26) and, although it's easier to control, she feels more comfortable with using ice instead.
- She's insomniac and relies on Darcy's help to fall asleep. They talk for hours, until Icy eventually falls asleep against Darcy's side.
- She had a dragon phase when she was 10. Sometimes she still wishes she had her own pet dragon.
- She's bisexual.
- She does both Darcy's and Stormy's make up.
- She and Darcy used to fight over the Valedictorian title a lot back in CT.
- She can forge notes in anyone's handwriting.
- She loves reading. She possesses a never-ending collection of books from many different planets, Earth included.
- She often quotes her favourite writers.
- Even after the Trix lost the Battle of Magix, the Dragon Flame didn't leave her. Bloom can still sense it in her, and the Flame bounds them in a way that neither of them fully understands.
- The Dragon Flame increased her body temperature and power level. It also gave her a limited control over fire magic.
- After Bloom was kidnapped by fake Avalon, Icy spent a lot of time keeping her company and talking about the most disparate things.
- In that time she also discovered that they share some common interests. Sometimes she misses talking with Bloom about them.
- She found Frostbite in an abandoned box when he was still as small as a common lizard. The plan was to take care of him until he grew big and strong enough to take care of himself, but by that time she'd become too fond of him to let him go.
- She doesn't listen to music often, but when she does it's usually vaporwave, hard rock or heavy metal.
- When she sleeps next to someone, she always hogs the blanket.
- She's a decent cook.
- She's a great ice skater and won a ton of trophies and medals. She keeps them all exposed in a display cabinet in her room.
- She can speak 7 different languages.

Winx Club - Live action rewrite/discussion
I was obsessed with Winx Club when I was little but even though I still enjoy it I get annoyed at the immaturity and the many original ideas that weren't executed worthily. The Netflix... Well... "adaptation", I'd pretend it doesn't exist. I say let's together rewrite Winx so it fits an older audience.
- First the main fairy characters are the same. Same backstory (maybe a few added siblings and diversity, I would change Aisha to be just a princess and not a Crown one) and same personalities but they act their age instead of being 10 year olds in the body of teenagers.
- We expand the good plotlines and maybe delete the more/not-as-original-good-ones. For example keep the Domino/Ancient witches drama but cut out season 7's plotline and I would prefer to cut out s4's too but that is to be discussed.
- Work on the villains backstories and arc's. I'd say make the Trix and Valtor the main villains and make them more of a threat instead of switching antagonists every season like a pair of underwear.
- Lower a little bit the boyfriend factor or take more time to work out the love stories in the show...Focus on friendship, self-love, growing up, responsibilities and basically themes that young adults could relate to.
- Make the restoration of Domino the end game. Let it take time... Instead of fixing a whole genocide within the blink of an eye. Don't bring back Marion and Oritel because besides the 2nd 3D film they had not much of a role or impact in the franchise and their sacrifice used to be a big deal but when they brought them back to life it took away the weight from it all. Make it painful and sad. Make Bloom and Daphne cope with the loss of their parents, heritage and kingdom.
-While on the Daphne note... I PERSONALLY adore the character of Daphne and would love to expand her storyline and personality more. I would take off the witches' curse much earlier in the show and make her a big part of the restoration of Domino and the defeat of the great evil. I wouldn't marry her off at all. And would have her deal with PTSD and she would need rehabilitation and to relearn how to walk.
(I could make a whole post about Daphne AU headcanons, tell me if you would be interested)
- Expand and explain the laws and rules of the Winx Magical Universe. Creation, how does magic work, how do politics work. I'm not a big fan of spending too much time on Earth and restoring magic there. What about you?
- No white-washing. Aisha is part of the Negroid race and so is Stormy. Musa is part of the Mongoloid. Flora is a latina, Darcy too. Icy is Caucasian but has albinism. Side note Bloom has lots of freckles.
- Maybe lower the number of episodes but increase their duration. (40-50 min)
- Keep some of the theme songs and have an opening. It could be a compilation of the girls trying to be normal teenagers in the mids of the war and chaos.
- Still have transformation but make them short and not full of musical numbers. Maybe have like a instrumental theme for them.
-Have fewer transformations and fix their designs. I'd take inspiration for the last transformation from the Bloomix design. It seemed the most practical and beautiful to me.
- How about having Bloom earn her Enchantix by saving Daphne through sacrifice from the curse and not just sending her off to some desert to meditate and ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom She's the strongest fairy once again because... Will power?! 🤨 Will power is important for situations like Aisha refusing the arranged mariage, Stella learning to think before she speaks, Flora becoming bolder, Daphne coping with trauma but breaking the very founding laws of your world? I'm gonna tell you this kids your "will" power will never break the Laws of Physics.
- Keep the colours of the original but match them better. Don't forget your colour theory cinematographers!
- KEEP THE HUMOUR AND JOY OF THE ORIGINAL (looking angrily at you Netflix 👀) HAVE SOME RIDICULOUSNESS IN IT, IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FUN.
- Make it mature but maybe 12+ stuff and not 16+. You can have dirty jokes but make it sly and not as blunt and obvious as in a certain Netflix adaption.
- Keep the serious themes like adoption, sacrifice, divorce, arranged engagement, breaking the old patriarchal traditions, the importance of up-bringing and parent-child bond.
-Have them struggle with their own version of high-school. It's hell for us so I'm not letting them go easy. Make them refuse parties and going out because they have to study for some shitty finals. Like seriously they had so much time on their hands.
- I imagined a scene, maybe at the end of the first season where Musa would play a melody she created on her sinthesizer that would resemble the melody of the s1 theme song and the girls would start giggling, dancing carelessly, they would mess around playfully and sloppily and would make up these cheesy lyrics about their Club (which would resemble the original lyrics) At the end one will say... "Well that was too sappy, even for us"
"It sounded like the theme song of some pre-school cartoon tv show."
- It would have many inside jokes relating to the original and how corny it was (I know that it was intended for younger audiences, I loved it and still do)
- To sum it all up. Make it nostalgic and good. Learn from both the good and bad. See what the audience wants. Put time and effort and some artistic touch. Create it for the love of cinematography and not just to have another over-advertised golden goose.

Snowfall
Snow is finally on the ground in my neck of the woods, so please have this!
Not sure if this counts exactly for CFWC Winter Season, but I was inspired by Prompt 1 (even though it’s not exactly Prompt 1).
Synopsis: Darcy fights a losing battle against her feelings as she and Bryce enjoy Bryce’s first snowfall. (MC x Bryce) (Fluffy, like snow, but Darcy is self-sabotaging as per usual.)
Rating: PG-ish for innuendo, but nothing explicit.
Warnings: None!

~
Darcy stifled a groan as the automatic doors opened and a chill whipped her face. She stepped out of the way of the sensors, not willing to face the outside of the hospital quite yet. Snow covered the sidewalk and continued its onslaught, flurries of white dropping from a gray sky. Welcome back, winter, she thought. You have not been missed.
“Oh, hey, it snowed,” remarked Bryce, his whole face lighting up as he buttoned his coat beside her.
He’d broken out the winter gear once it dropped below forty degrees, which Darcy had been teasing him about to no end for the last few weeks.
Well, almost no end. There was the time he’d retorted with, “Don’t be jealous of the coat, Darcy---you already know my preferred method for staying warm,” which might have led to a demonstration if Jackie hadn’t walked into the locker room at the right moment. And thank God for that. The last thing Darcy needed was to have her mind clouded with more thoughts of Bryce Lahela---his lips on hers, his hands everywhere, his---
"Have you ever seen snow before?” she asked, desperate to stop the flurry of feelings gathering in her stomach.
"Just on TV," he answered, tearing his eyes away from the scene outside for just a moment to throw her a grin. "Be gentle. It's my first."
She rolled her eyes but grinned back. "I promise, I'll play nice. No unprovoked acts of icy aggression." Finally, she stepped into the range of the sensors, and the doors opened for them both. "Let's see if it lives up to your expectations."
They crunched a ways out from the entrance, Bryce lagging a little behind as his boots sank deep into the unshoveled snow. In the distance, the scrape of snow plows on the streets and shovels against the sidewalk promised better accessibility in no time.
Darcy stopped to wait for him, turning to watch as he somehow managed to pull off a confident waddle in her direction. He was a beautiful sight in the sunlight, as if it was a spotlight designed to highlight his brilliant smile and the golden flecks in his eyes, but there was something just as captivating about watching him in the snow. The contrast, maybe. She almost expected it all to melt away on the tips of his gloves, from the warm energy he exuded, but it didn't. It settled on his shoulders and hair and even his eyelashes, softening the sharp features of his face.
Something about that softness made her heart thud fast in her chest, dangerously similar to the time he'd cleaned up after the housewarming party. (Which was when she, caught so off-guard by the previously unknown layers to him, had insisted on pulling each one away, so that she could inspect him thoroughly.)
She'd forgotten what it was like to really stop and watch the snow fall. She’d spent her entire life in the east, most of it in upstate New York, covered in snow. It was inconvenient, it made driving a nightmare, she hated having to layer up so thoroughly just to go outside, and when it all started to melt, what was left was dirt and mud and ugliness.
But, as she gazed at Bryce and fought the overwhelming urge to brush the snow off of his hair and pull her hat over his ears (did she really need it herself, when one look at him made warmth spread through her entire body?), she had to admit that it was beautiful, too, at least at first. Breathtaking at the right angle. Magical, falling with the sweetest and softest of lies---that maybe this time, it wouldn’t melt away.
“Enjoying the view?” asked Bryce, breaking through the flurry of thoughts in her head.
She looked away quickly, pretending to admire the snow piling on the pine trees.
“What’s the verdict?” she asked, gesturing around.
“Gorgeous,” he concluded as he stepped beside her.
When she looked to him to elaborate, she found he was not looking at the snow at all.
And in a final act of self-preservation, she broke the tension: “Aren’t your ears cold?”
"My ears?”
“You don’t have a hat?”
He grinned at her. “What I don’t have is hat hair,” he said, flipping his hair back dramatically, shaking the snow away.
Darcy laughed, and he laughed too, and for a moment, there was nothing between them but friendship---light teasing---the platonically shared joy of gently falling snow---
---which soon piled atop Bryce’s head again, forcing Darcy to fight the overwhelming urge to run her fingers through his hair, press her gloves over his cold ears, and tug him towards her for a kiss to warm the pair of them up.
(That was the other thing about snow: There was no stopping it.)

I never watched Winx as a kid, so I really hope I don't sound like an idiot for asking this. What exactly does the Netflix Winx series do wrong besides giving it the "dark and gritty" makeover?
So like. There are a lot of problems here and I’ll try to tackle them. I haven’t finished the reboot because I have difficulty getting through things I like, much less things I hate watch. But anyway, this gets long and is separated into parts.
Let’s start with it’s issues on it’s own and not as an adaptation:
It’s still pretty garbage. Not ‘the worst thing ever’. Interesting enough. But it does have problems. Some racist and homophobic and fatphobic writing. The characters range from ‘kind of a jerk’ to ‘straight up assholes who will cause physical harm for petty reasons’. The nicest one so far is Terra, but even she kinda snaps and strangles a guy with her plant powers.
Now on to things it fails on as an adaptation!
First, the whitewashing!
Of the six main characters, 3/6 were poc-coded in the original cartoon(I say ‘coded’ because they’re not Humans from Earth but still). Aisha is black, Flora is Latina, and Musa is Chinese.
Aisha is the only one who remains black. I’ve heard varying testimonies on Musa’s actor, but the ‘best’ I’ve heard is that she’s 1/4 Singaporean and white passing. I don’t have the authority to say if that’s in the clear or not so I’m leaving that to other fans.
Flora gets the worst though. They cast a white woman to play her. Then backtracked and said ‘oh, this isn’t Flora. We replaced her with her white cousin Terra’. Yeah you can see the problem there.
Characters they got rid of entirely! I’ll only discuss characters that showed up in the first two seasons of the original show since Fate only has one season. (I’d say just the first, but they included Aisha who is from Season 2).
Let’s see. They got rid of Tecna, one of the main six girls. It’s likely because they’re going for a more ‘bootleg Hogwarts’ vibe, and Tecna’s magic being heavily technology based ruins that. So she’s just tossed altogether.
The boys! Oh my god my boys! Sky and Riven are the only ones who were kept in, while Brandon, Timmy and Helia got scrapped and replaced as well. The other boys like Dane and Sam? Totally could’ve just given them those names and been done with it.
Then there’s Icy, Darcy and Stormy! I’m counting them together because that’s exactly what Fate did! The three Witches are villains in the series, and instead of keeping a trio, they combined her into a single character. Beatrix.
I think Silva was also an amalgamation of the remaining Headmaster/Headmistresses and a few other staff members but considering they condensed it to just one school it kind of makes sense.
Sometimes there’s just a name change like the Headmistress of Alfea was changed to Farah Dowling instead of Faragonda which is so pointless.
Overall there’s other minor characters that don’t show up, like the rest of the school staff, Mirta and Lucy, so on and so forth. But I’m less upset about that. Still upset though because I love them.
Personality changes! And romance drama!
Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy oh boy.
I already mentioned how they made everyone an asshole in this reboot. In the original show, the only protagonist that was consistently a jerk was Riven, but he was more of the ‘grumpy but still a good guy’ type of asshole.
Let’s compare just one character and her relationships to others!
Stella in the Original Cartoon: Preppy and sometimes a little vain, could be blunt to the point of insulting, but never malicious. Very sweet and loves her friends. She and Bloom are best friends, Stella having been the one to bring Bloom into the world of Magix and will do everything she can to make sure she’s safe. Stella’s love interest is Brandon, who is bffs with Bloom’s love interest Sky. Stella and Brandon are very cheesy and cute together. They aren’t usually jealous, and can even make a competition out of ‘how many phone numbers can I get?’.
Stella in Fate: Total bitch to all her roommates. She’s getting the common ‘my mom’s a bitch who puts pressure on me so I’m going to be a bitch’ thing that’s become popular now. Since Brandon was deleted, they put her in a love triangle with Bloom and Sky, Sky being Stella’s ex bf. And despite breaking up with him, Stella sees him just talking to Bloom and decides ‘Hm. Let’s prey on her insecurities that she doesn’t belong here, and manipulate her into leaving!’ Which includes walking through a forest where there was recently a man attacked and viscously killed by some kind of monster, so I’m putting it up to attempted murder.
Yeah. Everyone’s kind of like that. It’s awful.
Bloom’s backstory and parents!
Okay, this can kind of fall under both ‘personality changes’ and ‘plot changes’ but it deserves it’s own section.
In the Original Cartoon, Bloom’s home kingdom was attacked and destroyed by villains searching for something called the Dragon Flame. Bloom was a baby with said power, so her older sister sent her to Earth, a world without Magic, where she would be safe and hidden. Mike and Vanessa find her and adopt her, loving her and raising her very well. They are good parents. Bloom learns she has powers when she meets Stella, and instinctively uses Magic to protect her.
In Fate, the only thing really the same is that Bloom was sent to Earth. I’m a little unclear on why, but instead of giving her loving adoptive parents, they made her a Changeling with emotionally abusive parents! Let me elaborate a little: Instead of adopting Bloom of their own free will, Mike and Vanessa’s real child died in the hospital and was secretly replaced with Bloom. Her parents are also, as mentioned, emotionally abusive. So much so that Fate!Bloom’s powers first manifested by setting them on fire in the middle of the night.
Fun. Ain’t it?
Now onto plot points!
Again, pretty much the only thing the same is ‘Bloom discovers she has Magic, goes to another Dimension to learn at a school called Alfea. Gets into adventures with her Roomates while trying to figure out where she’s really from’.
The whole ‘Burned ones’ were.... not a thing at all. There wasn’t any kind of ‘barrier’ to keep out ‘dangerous creatures’ or anything.
I’m not going to go over every single subplot but that was just. No. They were easily allowed to go outside the school.
The whole vibe
This is a big thing to talk about. While the reboot went for ‘dark and gritty’ over the bright colors and sparkles, it also went for ‘bootleg Hogwarts’ instead of anything interesting.
In the reboot, the merging of Magic and Technloogy is mostly like. ‘Yeah we go to school in this old ass castle and we don’t use guns in weaponry class, but we have smartphones and social media and Harry Potter!”.
In the Original??? The whole world was very Magitech. It was a combination of Magic and Scifi! Kinda Steven Universe style actually.
The transformations!!!
Look. LOOK. Winx Club is a Magical Girl show! They have those beautiful transformation sequences that last a solid minute or so of screen time. And they also have like. At least one new Transformation a Season, which comes with an ungodly amount of different cool outfits.
The reboot? One transformation sequence. And while the effects are nice, Bloom doesn’t even get a new outfit. Just a few flames coming off her that look vaguely like wings.
SPEAKING OF! They are Faeries!!!! But they don’t have wings????? What????
Look idgaf about your effects budget you could’ve made the cheesiest shit like the live action Sailor Moon stuff and fans would’ve loved it!
Bonus: The fact that they didn’t have to change anything to make it ‘Dark’!
So like. Netflix decided to take all the color out of it, and make it ‘dark’ by having the characters smoke and drink and have sex and say swears.
But they.... really didn’t have to! The original cartoon was plenty dark, despite it’s colorful aesthetic! If you wanted to do a more serious reboot, you could have easily done it by focusing more on those aspects.
Hell, there are many fans who have done it. I’m one. I know a couple others as well.
anyway it’s 2:30 am and this is long af so I’ll leave it at that.

Winx Club Season 5 Thoughts Part 1
It’s been so hard for me to make myself start this season because I know it only goes downhill from here but here I am at last. I don’t remember anything from this season and am prepared to hate the transformations (Harmonix because it’s impractical and Sirenix because it’s ugly) so let’s do this.
- I already hate the hair and I haven’t made it past the intro yet. This is promising.
- This is off to a great start. I got the wrong episode. Not by my mistake, however. Now that I found the actual first one, let’s actually do this.
5x01:
- It’s weird to see magic so publicly on Earth. At least they’re having fun. Though, I have to say that I am not a fan of the idea of them having a band. And they have unfair advantage over every other Earth band because they can do their own advertizing without having to pay a cent and it will still be better than any other band can afford since it’s magic. They should have just dropped the band.
- I am gagging over the fact that they have Roxy praise Bloom for the help but not the other Winx girls. They were all there for her and fought to protect her and tried to teach her magic. And at one point she even said she wanted to be like Stella. But now she says that only Bloom is like a big sister. Obviously a plot device to bring in Daphne since she will be resurrected this season and they have to set it up. Especially after season 4 forgot all about her. I am still gagging, though.
- You know, I could have loved the whole ecological message but I am pretty sure they are going to fuck it up anyway. Or just not take it anywhere.
- Ugh, Helia’s hair is so ugly. But at least Sky’s is as well. But what is that box Sky has? Not another engagement ring, please, for the love of everything sacred!
- Ahh, pendant. Yeah, their relationship is going so well that they will need magic to keep it in tact. Though, good luck for both of them will be to just split up and find someone that is actually good for them. Also, why doesn’t Brandon know about that? He is literally the squire and best friend of the prince.
- Poor Layla. She must be missing Nabu like crazy. Please, let her have a season to mourn and don’t shove a new love interest in her face right away. It took her a season and a half to get the first one and he was killed. She needs some fucking time!
- Love that everyone agrees that Sky’s hair is terrible. Even Bloom’s “It looks... great” sounds like a lie.
- Why is Sky going back to Red Fountain? Didn’t he finish that? God, just let them move on already. Also, he is not A Crown Prince now. He was the Crown Prince ever since he was born. He was crowned as the king of Eraklyon. Man, are they retconning everything?
- If Bloom cared so much about what he had to say, she could have asked Musa to give them a sec. I like the little Flora and Sky interaction, though. If only it could have been on a topic different than Bloom. I wish the Specialists would interact with Winx other than their girlfriends more. It would sell the friend group vibe better.
- Aww, I wish Layla wouldn’t hide her pain over Nabu. She probably doesn’t want to affect the others with it and doesn’t want them fretting over her either but this is just so sad.
- Love how Bloom doesn’t even remember Tressa. For a moment there I thought that it was her getting crowned which would have been cooler but yeah. Also, Nereus and Tritannus are almost identical. What the hell makes Nereus hot and Tritannus not? I am so annoyed I started rhyming.
- I love the idea of underwater tech!
- Lmao, gotta love how the king has already picked a favorite. And it doesn’t seem to be a recent choice either. Idk about Tritannus yet, but I don’t like this guy. I am all for him being attacked. He even reacted like an absolute asshole. He reminds me of Erendor.
- Ah, of course. Trident. We couldn’t possibly have another weapon when it comes to merfolk.
- Tbh Tressa would be the best ruler. She seems to have learned her lesson and become braver. And if she’s protecting her brother and doing all the work anyway, why not just crown her?
- Didn’t Flora tell him to wait until he is alone with Bloom? Why did he think a good moment to give her the pendant would be when Layla is visibly worried about what is going on and everyone is there with them? I wish he’d drop it and it would break.
- How the fuck can Flora tell that there is oil spilling into the ocean? The ocean is Layla’s domain and Flora has never been shown to be able to communicate with marine plant life.
- I hate how they had to show that Timmy is obviously physically weaker than Sky. It would’ve made sense for him to had built some muscle at the very least after 4-5 years in Red Fountain.
- How the hell did Tecna delete the oil? You can’t just erase matter out of existence. There should be a rule against that.
- Yeah, I was just going to say that closing the pipes is not going to work if they don’t stop the flow of oil. The pipes might explode but it will keep spilling. Seriously, this is basic logic. Nice move. Now it will be harder to stop because the spill moved underwater.
- What happened to Layla’s wings? Is the oil sticking to them and hindering their movements? You’d think she could prevent that with magic.
- This is what happens when you carelessly put something so important in your pocket. You don’t even need to be running a rescue mission. There’s a high chance that you’re gonna lose it anyway. Also, love how Bloom just left the other guy to drown and no one else went after him either.
- Layla’s awesome. She even managed to pull that guy out even though she was struggling a lot with it. I hate the fact that they forgot she taught the others a spell to breathe underwater in season 3, though. They could have used it. But of course, that would have probably rendered Harmonix unnecessary.
- Wow, they renovated the whole platform to make it eco? Why don’t they just do that with all of the oil platforms on Earth then? It’s not like it took much effort. I want to add to this that if they’d just done that (which probably would have taken a couple of days), they could have easily defeated Tritannus later because his only source of pollution in the first half of the season has been Earth. Because there is ocean pollution only on Earth, you know. They could have used that to incorporate an ecological message, except that would have taken work on their part. And also, most of the toxic substances Tritannus consumed were spilled on purpose by the Trix. So there goes a great wasted opportunity for a thematic message.
5x02:
- Here are my bad bitches. What the hell are they doing underwater, though? It’s kinda cruel to put them in a prison that forces them to use magic if they want to survive it. What happens if they tire out? They could die,
- Aaaand for some reason Bloom is the vocalist of the band even though Musa is literally the fairy of music and the only one that was initially having a contract signed.
- I hope nobody is expecting any commentary from me on the musical performances because I am telling you from now that I will be skipping absolutely all of them.
- The selkies look ridiculous. I could appreciate the idea of having small beings being powerful guardians but they will certainly not serve any greater purpose than the pixies did so this is going to be annoying at best. Also, the selkie of Earth was still there even when the fairies weren’t, right? This somehow implies that magical beings couldn’t stop the disasters that mankind causes to Earth even though the previous season said that it was the disappearance of fairies that threw the Earth into chaos.
- Aww, look at Stella and Brandon! So good when there’s no stupid drama.
- People really went cleaning the beach not just willingly but enthusiastically? That sounds a little unbelievable. I mean, they were supposed to be at a concert and that was an abrupt change.
- Correction, I wish Sky hadn’t lost the pendant so that he could have given it to her and this would have been over. Now he is going to sulk about it for ages and he is probably going to fuck up in a self-fulfilled prophecy kinda manner and I am so not here for it. Just shut up about Bloom and Sky and focus on the action, please.
- Well, Icy is now canonically a monster fucker. Even though she thought Valtor was ugly as hell in season 3 when he turned into a demon. He was uglier than Tritanus in all fairness but still. This seems inconsistent. And I hate her voice. Not to mention that she is already acting OOC when she’s not thinking about getting out even but about fucking him. Come on!
- Is the whole turning into a monster thing some sort of reverse Beauty and the Beast? That could have been interesting... but, of course, this is Winx.
- Yep, the selkies are absolutely useless.
- If the Trix don’t have powers, then how are they breathing underwater? Also, how does toxic waste restore ice and storm powers (there is some connection to darkness at least)? And if they went that route, they could have made their powers have an element of toxicity to them to make it more interesting instead of just having a guy boost their powers yet again. Honestly, the only good thing that came out of this is that Darcy and Stormy seem to be thinking more independently now which would be necessary in order for the DramaTM between the Trix later (that is just about the only thing I remember from this season).
- I wish Darcy would have used her hypnotic powers more in the previous seasons. They are so cool and would be pretty hard to deal with once you’re hit. It could have made for more interesting fights.
- If Tritannus was good, he could actually help cleanse the oceans by sucking out all toxic waste. He likes being a monster anyway.
- Okay, but the Trix know Bloom is from Earth. They should have known it was Winx from the second they felt the fairy magic in the air. That took them long enough btw.
- Of course, the monsters can also go on land even though they are mer-creatures. Makes perfect sense.
- Love how Musa and Flora are using new spells yet they look and act exactly the same way like the old ones so it is just same shit, different story. The writers are so unoriginal.
- Layla is strong! And Winx seem to be a little too strong against the Trix. Although, Believix is supposed to be really powerful anyway.
- This could have been the perfect setup for an Icy x Bloom romance. Sky lost the pendant so his relationship with Bloom is doomed and he later lost his memory so why not just break them up. Diaspro can have him if she still wants him (I don’t know why she would but anyway) and Bloom can get with Icy after Icy realizes Tritannus is not the right one for her. Everyone wins, especially, us, the audience. And it could have been a good way to show that Diaspro has reformed and she and Sky could actually be an okay couple. Or better yet, she dumps him and gets together with Bloom and Icy.
- Layla just kicked Tritanus in the face. Boy, I stan! And the underwater battle with weapons instead of magic is super cool, I love it! Wish there’d been more of that but, of course, only Layla can pull that off and we can’t spend more than a minute focusing on anyone else other than Bloom. Why didn’t Tritannus recognize Layla, though? Or did he just not care?
- Icy crying out for help? By a man? So not here for this. It is ridiculously out of character. How is he so powerful? Once again the villain is so strong it is a wonder they ever got to live long enough to get to the finale let alone defeat him.
5x03:
- Well, Winx sure are at the top of the popularity wave again despite the last time we saw them at Alfea being very different. Also, why is it the beginning of another school year yet again? Honestly, I am so sick of all of this.
- Sky is seriously annoying me with that stupid pendant and he is also the one that is fucking up their relationship with his stupid behavior. He should just focus on being a good boyfriend and do the best he can. I get it that in a world of magic superstitions probably have more merit, but he still has control over his own life and the choices he makes. He can “save” their relationship despite the omen of doom.
- Ugh, don’t tell me there will be Helia and Flora drama in this season to compensate for the lack of such in the last? Why did he only introduce Flora as his friend and not as his girlfriend? And how is he so close with the princess of Linphea? Is he from Linphea as well?
- I agree with Stella. Just when we all thought they were done, they started making even more transformations.
- I don’t think we’ve seen Daphne be anything but calm but it’s understandable when she is talking about the thing that made her a disembodied spirit. Still it feels weird to see her not believe that Bloom can handle whatever comes her way. Especially after the defeat of the Ancestral Witches. I guess that is what bugs me in this scene.
- Wow, Darcy admitted that Winx are stronger than them and neither Icy, nor Stormy protested? It’s good that they’re self-aware. It just seems a little OOC. And another power up in two consecutive episodes? Seriously? Will they ever get anything done on their own again?
- At least Sky is asking for advice. I am surprised that they are letting him interact with Flora yet again but I actually kinda like it.
- Why are they all gasping in surprise. They have been to the archive already when Bloom stole the Codex in season 2. It is the same room; they have seen it. Get over it already.
(- *sigh* I just lost my thoughts on half the episode. This season is not agreeing with me.)
- Flora was acting weird while Crystal was helping Helia. It was kind of like she was mad it was Crystal who could save him and not her and that is weird for Flora. I think she would have just been grateful he was saved.
- I suffer when the books suffer... and they did suffer a lot in this episode. Also, how come Stormy is creating life again? This still doesn’t make sense to me but compared to other things, it is more minor.
- I love Darcy’s hypnotic powers and the fact that she was using them on Stella. I think I might be starting to seriously consider this ship (as opposed to just entertaining the possibility of a cool dynamic between them). I mean, Stella looked like she’s seen the hottest new fashion collection and I know it was the magic but still. I kinda want a Darcy who is on her own (without her sisters) and manipulating/spelling Stella into being with her so that she could make place for herself in the Solarian court. And then she falls in love, of course.
- Just please tell me Sky won’t be without his memories for the rest of the season because that will just be too annoying. If they are going for drama, it would be good to at least make it relevant instead of shoving it in there by the ton for the sake of it.
5x04:
- Since when is the whole school so invested in Bloom? They weren’t when she was actually there and even though Winx are kind of legends now, you can bet your ass that there were still fairies that don’t like them. Not to mention that they shouldn’t all know what the hell happened when no one was there to witness it. Why would they let the whole school know if Erendor doesn’t even know yet?
- You are seriously telling me that Stella hadn’t considered being a fashion designer before? Really????? She literally spent her summer after season 1 as an intern for a fashion magazine and has been designing clothes since about the same time. This is just too dumb for words.
- Love how adorably awkward Timmy is. And I love that Tecna doesn’t mind at all. They are just too cute together!
- Ooh, tension between the Trix. That is interesting. Or at least would have been if it were focused more on the power balance in their own dynamic rather than on hate vs love for Tritannus. Why does everything have to be about guys?
- At least Flora seems to like Crystal now which is cool. But I cannot express how annoyed I am by the fact that the whole thing with the pendant is preventing him from getting his memories back. And the stupid thing is that this actually has potential. Losing the pendant could be the peak of Sky’s guilt towards Bloom for all the pain he’s caused her (about Diaspro and not only) and that could be very interesting to explore but this show will never go that deep. It’ll just remain as wasted potential. Just like everything else is.
- Okay, why does no one ever start with amnesia patients by asking them how they would like to go about things, how they feel? Stuff like that.
- Tecna really turned into a robot. Again, no fucking magical system to explain how you can turn a human into a robot. Plus, this could be interesting as well and also really deep but, again, this is Winx. It is not going to be deep. Even though they could have done so much with that premise and given Tecna a really cool arc.
- Ah, yes, I forgot to mention this while I was on the previous episode. I am done with Neptune being so dismissive and even aggressive against his other son. Like, maybe if you had tried some parenting, none of this would have come to pass. Just a thought. I am not saying that parents can prevent any bad choices their kids make but I am saying that he doesn’t look like he tried too hard to be a good dad. Nereus only turned out okay because they are twins and one of them has to be good while the other is evil. I am glad at least someone is trying to reach Tritannus even if he is beyond saving.
- Oh, off, Tritanus is not messing around. You know what? I actually like that. It was about time they made the villains as ruthless as they are trying to make them out to be. Even if I feel bad for his family because they just wanted to help him.
- Why do the selkies talk in the third person? They just went from useless to majorly annoying.
- Why don’t they just go get Faragonda? She may at least know what they are dealing with and possibly clue them in on how to unspell Tecna. They don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just find someone who knows how it was made.
- Great, they just set fire to the archive and nobody bothered to put it out. And they also released the elements in there. The question remains - will the archive survive their search for the Sirenix book? (What the hell were those other books, though? I would like to know where they came from.)
- Okay, but wasn’t the book Tecna opened cursed? What happened to that? And why did the spell on her phone only activate after she opened the book? This doesn’t make sense.
5x05:
- I am very confused about the order of episodes. “The Lilo” should be before “The Power of Harmonix” because they are still using their Believix powers but it makes more sense for the Harmonix episode to be after “The Book of Sirenix”. Anyway, I am watching “The Lilo” because Wikipedia says it’s the fifth episode even though it looks more like filler that wasn’t even meant to be in the season.
- At least we get to see Flora do something this time. She is the most neglected and it’s good to see her use magic for something else other than growing ivy. Seriously, Flo, chill with the ivy.
- “When I think of you, Helia, I believe in myself.” Because she can’t believe in herself if she doesn’t have a boyfriend. The intro is so totally right! What a way to show girl power!
- Why is the animation overly flowy? Is it because it is closer to 3D in order to tie better with the actual 3D later on? It kinda pokes out your eyes sometimes. Or at least mine.
- Someone remembered that the Whisperian Crystals were a thing. I love how they just made them sort of like GPS for magical objects even though they were only supposed to track the Dragon Fire. Proof of that is the fact that they never used them to track the Ring of Solaria even though they wanted it as well. So this is just a cop out to give them a chance to find the Lilo.
- Of course, the Lilo is in the possession of Mitzi’s little sister. Why wouldn’t it be?
- Gotta love how even the writers realized that it was too convenient for everything to be in Gardenia so they started making up excuses for it.
- Wait, how does Mitzi know who the Trix are? Have they... They haven’t met, right? What the hell? Also, Icy was literally standing in front of Macy but she couldn’t just grab the plant herself and had to order Darcy and Stormy to do it? Lazy much?
- Darcy’s powers are going back to their peak this season and I am so here for it.
- Flora legit just hit Icy with her shield. That was a good move and a little more aggressive than I would have expected from Flora but I’m not complaining.
- Great way to almost hit Macy, Stella.
- There was zero point to this episode. I guess they just had to do something to get them to a total of 26 episodes. And putting it right before the episode in which they get Harmonix is just ridiculous because they just powered up their Believix... right before they’ll stop using it.
5x06:
- They can’t even open the Book of Sirenix? Huh, that’s... kinda interesting actually.
- Oh, come on! Just when Bloom was making progress, Crystal brings in Diaspro. You have to love how the writers are implying that Crystal is no good by having her being friends with Diaspro. I thought we were over the Crystal drama but it looks like there will be more. And why is Bloom not losing her mind? Diaspro literally mind controlled Sky! Goddammit, it’s in situations like this I wish I could trust Erendor to do the best for his son! If Bloom could trust he wouldn’t side with Diaspro, she could have called him to let him make sure Diaspro stays away from Sky.
- Oh, they can lose their powers if they fail the quest? I like that! Extra stakes besides the Tritannus situation. This feels more intense now and I am here for it.
- I like the implication that there are other great fairies in the Magic Dimension and it’s not just Winx. Less so fond of the fact that the other fairies seem to be underhanded but I’ll take what I can get.
- Awwwww! That scene with Stella, Tecna and Musa was so precious! I love Stella’s joking and the fact that Tecna is so upset about what happened but she still believes their reassurances! And Musa saying she might start talking about her mother... *sob* This is so precious! They are opening up to each other even more than they have already! And about the tough topics. Ah, my heart!
- Okay, I kinda like the solidarity between Bloom and Layla. Also, the fact that Flora finally figured out what they are doing. Though, that’s kinda weird to me. Flora has been more wary of the reckless plans but I don’t think she would put her powers above her friends and possibly Layla’s whole realm if not the whole universe.
- Really wish it would have been someone else that had saved the horse and not Bloom.
- “Shadow hand”? Man, I was right. Darcy’s powers are peaking! Also, whatever spell Icy used on Winx to make it harder for them to move was super cool as well. I like it.
- They have to complete the Quest in one lunar cycle? That’s 28 days... On Earth. Maybe they should have specified which moon. Since Solaria has 2 suns there are probably millions of moons out there. Okay, that isn’t working out and I wish they had been more specific with it. This episode had some cool stuff about the Magic Dimension already and they could have done more. Anyway, one lunar cycle sounds like a short time but since it’s Winx, it is probably a long time.
- Oh, they just all got Harmonix without doing anything in order to earn it. Greaaaaat. And I have to say that the Harmonix design is so impractical. Why so many veils? They’re just gonna boggle them down. Of course, nothing ever gets wet on shows but seriously? If you’re fighting with someone, they can grab you by the veils or the veils can tangle around you and become the reason for your demise. This is stupid.
- Okay, so Tecna was being really insecure but they left her behind in the search of the Gem of Self-confidence? Like, you just threw away a golden opportunity. I am into the idea that they are going in the Magical Reality Chamber to still be at the place of the action so to speak and be able to help the rest better, though.
- Love the idea of the boat that can go to any water body. I would like one. Less so enthused about the contradiction in this very episode. Stella was complaining about wearing heels when she could have just changed with magic. The proof is right there since she changed hers, Bloom’s and Layla’s whole outfits just about 10 minutes later. This is ridiculous.
- Not @ the way the writers already threw Roy in despite the fact that it has been just five episodes since the beginning of the season. Also not @ the way he seems to be the stereotypical “girls need my protection” guy. Wish Layla would just keep not liking him. But they are probably trying to emulate what happened with Nabu at first. Ugh, I hate this so much I can’t even tell you.
- Oh, come on! They’ll be bonding with the selkies now? Let me guess, that was only written so that the selkies can get their powers back through the bonds, So Tritannus will enter the Infinite Ocean with the stolen selkie powers and Winx will enter it with help from their bonded selkies. This is so transparent, I can’t even. Also, totally needed their selkies to be matching the color of their Harmonix. I mean, how else are you gonna tell that they’re their bonded selkies? Not like they have personalities or are relevant in any way. Also, can another fairy bond with a selkie that has been “taken”? Like, there is a pixie for every fairy but the selkies are much less so... what the hell? This doesn’t make any sense.
- I hate what they did with the challenge for self-confidence. They could have done so much better. But first, Bloom’s test is all about Sky (which is dumb as fuck because it literally tells you their relationship is the biggest source of insecurity in her life) and Stella’s is about her not having confidence in her fashion taste? Really? Layla’s was most cutting as always but they didn’t even try to make it hard. It was so obvious that Nabu was an illusion because he was being cruel to her and the real Nabu would never. They should have gone for something else that would have really made her struggle with figuring out it is not real. Plus, by figuring out it is not real, she didn’t exactly confront her issue with confidence. And Bloom and Stella couldn’t even break out of it on their own and needed her help. How is that successfully passing the test?!?!?!?! And I was just starting to think that this could be getting better. It was I who should have known better.
5x07:
- Aww, I love how dedicated Stella is to knowing stuff about Solaria. She is going to be a precious queen. Also, her guardian of Sirenix is so beautiful.
- Ugh, the Trix are pulled apart again. I hate it. Darcy and Stormy do have a point. I just wish Icy would keep her head in the game. Also, do they sleep out in the open? In a swamp or whatever the hell that is?
- Wow, Sky that has no memory treats Bloom better than Sky that has memory of her. Interesting. Like, if he can calm her worries about Diaspro so easily when he doesn’t even remember how much he loves her, why didn’t he do that in the previous seasons? Honestly.
- Roy is annoying me just by cheering for Winx. This is not going well.
- Oh, damn, Flora got turned into stone. What did Tritannus do to that jellyfish? Turn it into Medusa (lmao, fun fact - jellyfish is called medusa [more like meduza but still] in Bulgarian)? Seriously. And why is Flora the one saving the selkies when she is the only one that isn’t bonded to any?
- Since the Trix also didn’t put any work into earning their powers, it is only fair that Winx get a free upgrade as well. I am just glad that at least the Harmonix spells look differently even though they function in the same generic way.
- Hey, Sky is actually starting to remember? Good. I was prepared to suffer through this amnesia arc up until 5x13 at least but now I have timid hope that it will not last that long. I guess the writers haven’t heard of muscle memory, however.
- How did the Gem of Confidence turn Flora back into herself when the jellyfish that turned her into stone had nothing to do with it? It was Tritannus’ doing and not even intentional. It shouldn’t have had petrifying powers in the first place. None of this makes any sense. Not to mention that the Gem somehow multiplied to six gems. I mean, really? Would’ve been much better if they could only choose to complete one box aka everyone else would lose their powers but then through their shared goal (aka Faragonda telling them that they have to be of one mind and heart) they could have all gotten the Sirenix. Just no other powers. That would have been way more interesting (obviously Layla would be the one whose box they’d complete and I don’t believe the Dragon Fire can be extinguished anyway so Bloom could even have a loophole out of that). And besides, they don’t use the old transformations anyway.
5x08:
- Stella is rocking that outfit. But why streaks? Stella, no!
- Tecna and Timmy are absolutely adorable with their mega nerdiness. I love it.
- Jeez, really? Sky is a better dancer with amnesia than Brandon is? I mean, this could have been plausible if they hadn’t established already in the previous episode that his muscle memory has fucked off into oblivion as well. Otherwise, yes. As royalty, he is probably better at dancing. Even though battle requires a lot of coordination as well. But nice of Kiko to try to help.
- Come on, Stella, you’re being insensitive. You would be “moping” too if Brandon had died. Please, don’t try to set Layla up with guys. Just give her some time to grieve!
- I don’t know what Stella expected. Of course, Layla is going to get offended by that. She doesn’t want company, she wants Nabu back.
- Oh, come on! Musa really got mad at Riven just because he liked the music another girl was playing? What, is he supposed to only listen to her music now? She isn’t even the vocalist of their band.
- They only have 10 days left to complete the missions? When did they manage to waste so much time? Like, they legit got the first thing done in one day. Where did the other go?
- Tressa has had so much growth since season 3. I love her. Really wish they’d let her be queen. But wtf, why can the king know what all of his subjects are doing? That is so invasive. Also, Layla should not be in the range of his powers. Man, the writers are really pulling some bullshit here.
- You’d think the selkies will learn that they can’t stop Tritanus and will try to not get in his way so that he wouldn’t get to steal their powers. But nope, they are both useless and stupid.
- Okay, Stella did mess up and she should have known why what she did was a bad idea but Layla giving her the silent treatment is not going to help either. I hope that the fact that Musa is dealing with the loss of her mother can help the two of them patch things up as well. Maybe there will be a lesson in this for both of them.
- Now it makes sense why Musa turned into an ocean type of monster. And this is a good opportunity for Stella and Layla to find their balance again and help save Musa.
- Stella’s attacks are still hurting Musa. And wouldn’t it make more sense for Layla to use her powers to stop her? She could make a net with morphix that will be both more reliable and less harmful for Musa. Seriously, why do they always make the dumbest choices possible?
- You know what would have been more interesting? If the healing of the bond could only work one way and the selkie didn’t get her powers back. They could have brought in Galatea to also bond with her in order to restore her powers later on so that they could enter the Infinite Ocean. That would have been more creative. But nah.
- Stella’s sudden understanding of Layla really came out of nowhere. And it felt like Layla only forgave her because she didn’t want to fight with her anymore, not because she was truly okay with what Stella did. This could have been done so much better.
- These Sirenix quests are so convenient. They all have to do with places the girls know and clues they have history with. It would have been much harder if they had to go to planets they don’t know how to navigate and a better way to do more worldbuilding.
- Bloom really can’t take 10 days away from the Sky mess? They can literally lose their powers forever which could mean handing Tritannus victory but she is more concerned with Sky’s memory that can possibly only get better in the next ten days while she focuses on the mission? Oh, come on!
- They are really trying to push hard the idea that Bloom and Sky are destined to be together. Also, now that they found the shell, can Sky’s memory block disappear? It would make sense. Please, just end this already.
5x09:
- Really? Bloom is sensing that something is wrong with Daphne but Marion isn’t? This could have been a cool moment to bring in the fact that their parents are back. Especially since Bloom isn’t going to do shit about it. I mean, how dense is she that she didn’t recognize the clouds of pollution hanging around Daphne in her dream? Could have at least tried to contact Daphne to make sure she was okay. Especially since she knows that Daphne talks to her through her dreams and that has been A Thing since season 1. I just... cannot.
- I... don’t even know what to say about Stella here. On the one hand I understand her frustration as she feels like no one supports her passion for fashion but on the other hand... Stella, no! Brandon was right that she needs to consider other people’s feelings sometimes, though, I’d say none of Winx exhibited particularly high levels of empathy here except maybe Flora.
- Oh, Tecna. On the one hand I want to say that there shouldn’t be a reason to feel nervous face to face with Timmy when they get along so well, but on the other, we have all experienced what she’s talking about. Texting can be so much easier sometimes even if it can also be dangerous because it lacks the context of body language.
- Seriously? We’re gonna make it through all the girls’ planets. I said it before and I’ll say it again, but this Sirenix Quest sure is damn convenient. At least it is kinda ironic that the Gem of Empathy is on Zenith since they seem to rely on technology more.... Man, that could have been an awesome opportunity to make Zenith more three dimensional by explaining that they develop so much technology so that they could make the lives of everyone easier when they have digital assist aka their focus on technology is driven by empathy. But again, that is just too deep for this show.
- Oh, come on! Stella really turned into a three-year-old? Why the hell would there be an age-changer spell in the pin? This doesn’t make sense. And again, a fucking wasted opportunity. Stella was running low on empathy here so including her in the search for the Gem of Empathy would have provided way more character development than this shit right here. I would have sent Stella, Tecna and Musa to get the Gem and Bloom, Flora and Layla to go look for Daphne. Or better yet, Stella and Tecna for the Gem, Musa and Layla after Tritannus and Bloom and Flora to check on Daphne.
- Is Layla ever going to use her Harmonix powers? Seriously, she has transformed how many times now and I can’t remember her using any of her new magic.
- Why is Layla now smiling at Roy even though she never transitioned from “annoyed” to “friendly teasing”? I hate this so much.
- It must be weird for Brandon to see his girlfriend as a three-year-old while he is still twenty. Like, that will make for a fun conversation once the spell wears off.
- It is so goddamn obvious that Tritannus has been there! Like, did the clouds of pollution not tip you off?????? Honestly, why don’t any of them have normal rationalizing abilities? It is a simple deduction! You don’t need the selkies to tell you! Besides, didn’t they already say that he crossed over to Zenith? This is like looking between a needle and a single straw of hay and having to point out which is the needle and they are failing!
- Shoot, I thought “where the one looks over the many” was supposed to be something of a mathematical riddle or something that would have to make Tecna focus on the whole rather than the details. The throne thing? Just... meh.
- I would have preferred it if their test of empathy involved something that was already inside them and came from themselves rather than them being placed under a spell by the Gem. It could have brought out their most unempathetic thoughts but I still think there was a better way to do this, and a more emotional one.
- Seriously?????? I mean, FOR REAL?!?!?!?!?! THAT is what they had to do to get the gem???????????????????????????????????????????????????? They didn’t even resolve their issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did they prove they were worthy of having it. God, I hate this.
- How did the age-changer spell had any bearing on the plot or the characters? It literally didn’t do anything for Stella or Flora, Musa and Brandon for that matter. They had so many amazing opportunities in this episode and they were all wasted. I just... *frustrated sigh*
5x10:
- Is it just me or is the idea to put the Christmas filler episode right a couple of days before the deadline for the Sirenix Quest the worst idea ever? Well, not the worst because this show is just full of bad ideas but still somewhere up there with the big guys.
- I was gonna get incredibly angry if they’d made Christmas be a thing in the Magic Dimension but they got at least that right. And that way it’s cute that Bloom gets to introduce her friends to a new holiday. They all got so excited about the presents! Adorable! The only thing that would have made this better was if she’d invited Marion and Oritel to Mike and Vanessa’s as well to celebrate together.
- I was ready to hate this episode but it has actually caught my attention. Love how the Trix decided the magic of Christmas is literal magic and they want to steal it from Bloom. This is actually exactly what a funny filler episode should be like.
- Aww, a surprise Musa and Riven moment. That was adorable.
- Am I the only one who is getting Yu Gi Oh vibes from this monster? Okay, four monsters (Why four? That is so random. Three would have made more sense.). They just remind me too much of Blue Eyes White Dragon.
- You know what would be really cool? If Stella made a cage with mirrors at key places to reflect the light beam she shoots at the creatures so that it would keep running through the cage to stop them from reforming.
- Oh, wow. Faragonda showed up. I never thought that would happen. Not that she’s been much use. Like, you fought the Ancestral Witches! Surely, there has to be something you can do! Not to mention that how the hell did the Trix get magic of the darkest order? That’s just bullshit.
- You know what? I would be more worried about the fact that they may not be able to break the spell before they run out of water and food and other essentials. Like, the Christmas thing is upsetting but not a priority right now,
- Okay, the Trix are inside the ice dome but the ice dragons aren’t? That seems like a hole in their plan.
- The others got the spirit but they a little confused. Bloom doesn’t just miss Christmas but spending it with her family and they can’t give her that. Though, none of them didn’t even try to teleport. Depending on the way you do it, maybe they could have gotten out.
- This episode is kinda all over the place but at least it has that cool vibe from season 1 when they got to actually just chill around the school and do some fun stuff. Actually put time in just being friends. Oh, and the friendship charm bracelets are really cute! I love them.
- You know they don’t have what to put in an episode when they give the full transformations twice. Nice job, there.
- Making a hole in the dome does not sound like the best course of action because Winx could have just gotten out of there and forced the Trix to chase them. But no one thought of that.
- I feel second hand embarrassment on Icy’s behalf. If she ever gets to learn that she misunderstood about the magic of Christmas, that is. The way things are going, Bloom is gonna blast them out of the dimension without ever revealing that this was all for nothing.
- Well, Bloom could have just used her Dragon Fire to destroy the ice dragons the moment they appeared and none of that would have happened but why the hell would she do that? I have to say that I would have preferred it if Winx and the Specialists had gone to Gardenia instead of having Gardenia go to Alfea. Like, I get it that they wanted to make Christmas touch the Magic Dimension as well but Alfea has never celebrated a Zenithian-specific holiday for example or a Solarian one. It just makes the whole Winx universe a little too focused on Bloom again.
5x11:
- Omg, I am feeling so bad for Daphne. Hasn’t she suffered enough? Though, I have to say that I am at least glad Icy came up with a decent plan for counteraction this time even if it is cruel. At least it makes sense!
- Why the hell is the wind-rider competition held in Alfea? It should have been in Red Fountain but I guess the animators couldn’t be bothered to pull out their old animation of it and remember how to draw it.
- Bloom giving Sky a pep talk was kinda cute. I get why he would be nervous and it was cool that she did her best to help him. And that moment with throwing some harmless magic his way to show him his own reflexes was actually smart and hella cute as well. I just wish they wouldn’t have gone for the “he is the best Specialist ever to live” thing again but I’ll take it as his friends telling a white lie to soothe his anxiety.
- So the Trix are just being bullies for no reason at all. Also, they already used that invisibility spell when they messed with Tecna’s phone. Or at least it looked the same.
- Poor Kiko. Getting accused for something he didn’t do and then also being attacked by clones. But was it that only he could see them? Because otherwise, it should have tipped Bloom off that something’s wrong.
- They don’t need to remind us every time that there is no time to waste for the Sirenix Quest. We get it. And even if I had the episodes spaced out by weeks, I doubt I would forget that they have a time limit considering that this is not plot heavy and they have mentioned it, like, a million times already.
- Oh, they’re going to Linphea next. Look, even Tecna noticed that all the parts of the Quest have been on their home planets.
- Wow, Flora, you think the flower might be on your planet? Damn, girl, you’re such a genius. No one would have ever guessed. They have an ocean of flowers and she is still not sure? W.O.W.
- Love how it took Faragonda and Saladin a solid minute to interfere. Not like they were in a war or anything and should be 100% prepped to deal with crises. Why would you think that? And Griselda (and the other Alfea teachers) didn’t even get to do anything. Not to mention that Mirta has been studying at Alfea for a forth year now and she didn’t even try to fire at the beasts... You know, what could be considered an instinctive reaction.
- “Only one more keeper...”? Yeah, because there are only six-seven planets in the whole universe! (Didn’t he already get the powers of the selkie of Earth as well as from everyone’s home planets except for Bloom’s? Who’s gonna restore the Earth selkie’s powers... Wait, is it going to be Roxy? And does that mean we’re finally going to Domino this season?)
- I was gonna ask whatever Roy was gonna do without Layla being there but he isn’t there either. So why was he there the other times if not to drive the boat? They gave him one job to justify his presence and then they took that away as well.
- Funny how it is always the selkies of the girls that have gone on the Quest that appear and not any of the others. One of them (I am not even gonna bother to learn their names) said she could sense the presence of her fairy but still. Though, with their powers restored, I guess they could do that.
- Do I remember wrong or are Flora and her selkie the only ones that actually hugged? Cause that was kinda cute.
- Okay, Sky’s plan was good but did Bloom really need him to pull her out of the way? I am pretty sure she could have done that on her own since it was obvious what the plan was.
- If I were Stella, I’d be worried that a plant might eat me too. Having courage doesn’t mean that you can’t be afraid. It means that you find it in yourself to go on despite the fear. So I’d say Stella is courageous enough.
- Okay, but this plant looks like it was touched by Tritannus’ pollution and so did all the rest of the places from the Quest (except for Melody). So that means that what is happening wouldn’t have happened if not for him aka they aren’t actually completing the Quest because they are fighting Tritannus’ influence on the environment, not performing the tasks from the Quest.
- Good! Tecna and Layla are actually being strategical about this even though all Bloom wants is to hang out with the boyfriend. I wouldn’t mind if she didn’t just get targeted. But why the hell would she care about her safety - or Sky’s for that matter - when they can go on a romantic walk instead?
- Really? They need a translator? Flora has communicated with plants numerous times before. She should be able to understand what the Flower of the Depths is saying to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear god, the writers are really trying to be as stupid as possible.
- Why didn’t Bloom try to transform before jumping against the Trix? Or at least shoot some magic at them? Once again, how are they still alive?
- Darcy’s powers are awesome and she’s using them well. I love how she pushed Musa in her own trap. But damn, it was harsh of Musa to try to cause the rocks to crush Darcy. I thought the Trix were supposed to be the cruel ones.
- Wow, I thought Icy would have at least a couple broken bones after Layla smashed her in the rock like that but nope. She’s fine.
- Okay, I actually think that Sky and Bloom are cute in this episode, what the hell? I like the fact that they decided to stop trying to get the past back to him. That may even actually help him remember when he’s not stressing and straining to do it. I thought that Bloom meant one of the memories she wants to keep was that of the shell they found, though. Wasn’t that soulmate special or something?
5x12:
- Icy is really not paying attention, huh? I mean, Tritannus saying that he would give her one more chance somehow didn’t sound too reassuring to me. He gave the Trix their powers so he could probably take them away any time he wants and then destroy them. Which sounded exactly like what he was planning to do before Icy convinced him to give her one more chance.
- Well, they noticed the pattern of the Quest running through all their home planets. They could have tried looking for the yellow reef on Domino before asking the guardian of the Sirenix box. Just to do something on their own, you know.
- Who let Bloom go in that dress? Didn’t Tecna say Stella was there as well? How could she let Bloom even put that thing on, let alone wear it to the Domino renewal celebration. Also, why the hell is that happening only now? It has been a season and a half since Domino was restored. I thought this would be the discussion of Tritannus.
- Love how they didn’t even redo the footage from SotLK and just slapped the different art style right in the middle of the one from season 5. Lazy as lazy gets.
- Um, wasn’t the plan to capture Bloom? And if they changed it to getting Marion and Oritel, why didn’t they try to do that when Bloom wasn’t there? They couldn’t get her but they will somehow get her parents who literally defeated the Ancestral Witches while Bloom and two or three of her friends plus Sky are also there? How does that make sense?
- Oh, come on! The dresses looked much better without the flowers. Also, you’re telling me that Stella made them fit the same theme as Bloom’s but she didn’t have anything to do with Bloom’s dress? This is just... ridiculous. Also, how do flowers relate to Domino? Sparks or even gems would have made better sense. A fire pattern even.
- Marion and Oritel are giving very different vibes from the ones in Magical Adventure and even SotLK (even though they had like five lines each in that one).
- Did Bloom suddenly forget that Sky does not remember how he saved the Sword? And she left him alone even though he doesn’t have his memories? Also, why do none of their parents know about that? And up until this point, there were always three of them going on the Quest. But now that Bloom is actually needed somewhere else she is going even though she could have left it to Stella, Layla and Flora? Come on!
- Didn’t the pendant sink in the ocean on Earth? Where are the selkies now? And how come Flora’s selkie decided that she will know who the pendant belongs to? You know, out of the infinite number of people in the whole universe. The fact that she just so happens to actually know is yet another too convenient convenience but still.
- The mimicry fish are adorable and I love them.
- Wait, can any selkie open any portal? I thought they could only open the portals that they were guarding. But then Winx shouldn’t have been able to pass from Domino back to wherever Tritannus attacked - Andros maybe?
- Love how Marion instantly jumped away when the Trix attacked despite how much her outfit must weigh. And you’re telling me that Oritel is the fighter between the two of them? Yeah, right. Just please, let her use her magic to stop the Trix. We know she has it! Don’t make her look helpless because she is far from it.
- Well, of course, even the oceans of Domino are the best and have the rarest fish even though it is the planet of the Dragon Fire and Andros is the center of all oceans. Makes perfect sense.
- Okay, Marion and Oritel are definitely giving waaaay different vibes from the ones in the movies but I have to say that I kinda like how fierce they are. Not @ Oritel’s “Still have it in you?” because duh, she obviously does and even more so than you do, Oritel, but other than that I love how smoothly they just switch from celebration to a fight that is potentially for their lives. Also, I like that Sky gets to fight with them... Or at least he was supposed to.
- Yes, the one time Bloom is there, the others are completely useless. Also, that thing is not a coral. Wasn’t the Gem supposed to be in the jaws of the coral, not whatever the hell this fish is. And how is it in its mouth? How does it not ingest it when it eats? This doesn’t make sense.
- Love whatever Marion did there with shooting magic out of her sword. However, I don’t like the fact that the writers have forgotten she has magic and is not defenseless without a sword. And how did that trick even work? She could have just turned around and seen that it wasn’t the real Oritel. Not to mention that if Oritel knows the Trix are descendants of the Ancestral Witches, Marion does too aka she should have known that one of them has illusion powers. Given the fact that they fought a whole war against Lysslis, I am pretty sure she has faced similar tricks before and should have known better.
- Please, tell me the creature was supposed to vanish and it wasn’t Bloom that vaporized it from inside. Also, I so totally knew the last gem would be green. It made perfect sense.
- At least they remembered that Oritel’s sword is supposed to be special because it has Dragon Fire in it.
- Bloom and Sky saving her parents “together” makes no sense because Sky doesn’t have magic. So it wasn’t him that helped her save them but the sword.
- Their declarations of love were kinda undermined by him remembering and in such stupid way. Like, all the progress he made in restoring their relationship and even remembering a little wouldn’t have mattered if he hadn’t gotten the pendant back. Aka his blockage wasn’t actually going away. It was still there which means that his emotions were not getting worked out.
- I know Marion and Oritel will not go help save Daphne even though that would be the only logical thing and I am so fucking mad about it, you don’t even know.
5x13:
- Oh, god! They changed even the intro and the 3D animation is as ugly as I remember it to be. Love how they also spoil the fact that the girls will get Sirenix in this episode. Not that the title of the episode doesn’t.
- I have beef with this recap. That fish that had the Gem of Courage was so totally not a shark. It just wasn’t. I’m no shark expert but that was definitely not a shark. It looks like some fish you can find in the depths (I don’t remember their name) but it sure as hell ain’t a fucking shark.
- What training? They need to go get Daphne! Also, they handled Believix just fine. If Alfea had given them proper education, they should be able to control any transformation. Like, those should operate according to some goddamn logic.
- If Daphne hadn’t already told him, then why did she do it now? Man, he should have just made her talk before he told the Trix to leave Domino. Now that they were no longer there, Daphne didn’t have any reason to talk. She must have known that Bloom would find their parents so Tritannus lost his leverage. This is so nonsensical.
- What the hell does it mean that they have to look inside themselves? How is that gonna lead them to lake Roccaluche? The only one connected to it is Bloom because Daphne is her sister. This is ridiculous.
- How big is that lake and why does it look exactly the same way that the sea does? There is a difference between sweet water bodies and salt water bodies and the life inside them, you know, writers.
- Why would there be a protection system to guard the source of a whole ass goddamn transformation? It makes much more sense that anyone could just walk in and destroy it in 0.3 seconds.
- They just had to say that they will keep exhibiting the three virtues the Gems represented in order to get the location of the source of Sirenix? Man, really? Ugh, that is just so... ridiculously frustrating.
- For people who can lose their magic the same day, they sure don’t seem to be worried. Lounging and all.
- They know Tritannus was there. Obviously that is the explanation as to why the selkies did not find them.
- Yes, they totally look like they’ve “got this”.
- I actually liked the fact that Bloom had to give up finding out where Daphne is in order to save the lake. Seeing all the panicked animals rush around really drives home what is going on because they will all die if the lake dries completely.
- Oh, I am totally going to cry over Daphne’s anguish here. This looks so brutal. But here’s a thought for you. The whole power of Sirenix was put under a curse, right? Then why didn’t the Trix get affected by it? And if the Sirenix power is removed from Daphne, shouldn’t the curse disappear as well?
- Love how they forgot about the part where Sirenix was cursed even before Tritannus messed with the source.
- I hate the Sirenix transformation. It is the ugliest one to me and why did they have to go and give them streaks? The 3D look was bad enough already. Only the Trix’ Sirenix design is worse than this. (No, actually whatever the hell is happening to the Trix in the end of season 7 is the worst design idea they have ever had but I haven’t watched that.)
- So they didn’t need the selkies to enter the Infinite Ocean? Then how come that is what Tritannus needed? What the hell is wrong with the logistics of this whole thing?
- Where did all these minions come from? Did whatever he did to the... stone? thingy poison the nearby water and turn all creatures into his minions? Didn’t that work only on merfolk? If so, the Infinite Ocean seems overpopulated.
- They totally could have had Marion and Oritel in this but once Tritannus took Daphne into the Infinite Ocean, they would have needed to let Winx handle the rescue mission because the two of them wouldn’t be able to enter the Infinite Ocean. And boom, problem solved. They don’t have to drag Oritel and Marion through every episode while they still could have shown that they cared. Idk what was so complicated about that.

Icy Is The Avatar Of High School; The Essay
Tumblr media
I would like to begin this essay with a song. While reading this essay keep in mind that Icy has the exact same energy as this song which (imo) embodies prep & jock with a touch of nerd. No goth tho, press f in the chat.
Wow I put way too much into this. I hope y’all love it.
Okay so lets get into this! We will begin with the obvious one, goth:
*Gestures to all of the snow*
Edit: that was supposed to say show but snow works too.
Next we will talk about Jock.
So think of your typical jock. A stereotypical jock has a few qualities; reckless bravery and determination, large ego, usually at least kind of an asshole, doesn’t know when to quit, craves them gainz, and makes impulse decisions.
Icy is definitely a very brazen person. It takes balls (and a large ego) to get banned from your campus and then very boldly strut back onto said campus in the middle of dinner while the whole school is assembled. She looked at Lord Darkar, shadow phoenix of the underworld and was straight up like, “yeah, whatever dude.”  Dude is such a jock word.
So onto determination! Okay look, we have like 7 whole seasons of her trying to take over the world. She was arrested, what? 5 times? She literally doesn’t know when to stop. Give up??? Who’s that???
I feel like the large ego thing also speaks for itself she is constantly talking about how she deserves to be Darkar & Valtor’s main witch. She is well aware that her plans are usually fantastic. She just exudes an I’m better than you energy. It’s in her posture, her gestures, her tone of voice. Icy is absolutely certain that she is the shit and in the 4kids version one of her demands to the professors was to stand before the student body and say, “Icy rules, Icy’s the greatest.” *Spoiler alert* she is. I promise that she is not holding me hostage.
Which brings me to the next point, getting dem gainz! Your average jock is at the gym, drinking protine shakes, and building muscle! While Icy is not in a gym trying to get 6 pack abs, she 100% chases them magical gainz! The dragon fire is just a really hot protine shake.
In the 4kids version, upon overrunning Cloud Tower, she addressed the student body by welcoming them to her pep assembly. Ya know who else likes pep assemblies? Football jocks.
Also that whole scene in episode nine (Spelled) where she rallies up the witches and they all chase Musa. That’s like the goth equivalent of getting the entire football team to chase after the nerd (or a member of the rivaling team).
And let’s not forget the ‘nerd run’ from season two where she rode this dinosaur thing and chased Timmy, the stereotypical nerd type. (It’s funny because she doesn’t know that she’s a nerd too).
Okay so now that we dug deep into jock, it is time to discuss Prep!
I tend to use prep & always wears pink, blonde, mean girl interchangeably. But wiki says; Characteristics of preps in the past include a particular subcultural speech, vocabulary, dress, mannerisms and etiquette, reflective of an upper-class upbringing. Both definitions hold up in my book.
So we’ll start with wiki’s. Icy (depending on whether or not we’re going with the season 8 retcon) is from an upper-class upbringing. Tbh she’s like Stella but a witch.  Icy is Stella’s goth phase and that’s why Stella fears Icy because she knows that that’s what she could be. I feel like Icy also has the most preppy dress style of her sisters.  Also pretty sure preps are known for being over-achieving perfectionists. Icy was actually pretty good with her academics.
As for the Regina Gorge type prep; Icy is totally your classic mean girl bully, but make it witchy. I really think that this speaks for itself. It sings for itself too in 4kids OST. One of the lyrics in the Mean Girls song is that they will steal your boyfriend and trash your makeup. If that doesn’t scream prep, Idk what does.
She reads them magazines. I don’t remember which one but I do remember her mentioning that there was a question posed in said magazine about ‘what would you do if you took over the world’ and apparently she wrote, ‘you’ll find out soon enough, loser’ and sent it in.
Loser, pixies, nerds, dweebs. Icy has a whole list of mean and petty insults to put in her burn book. Like bye girl.
Literally all of the Miss Magix contest. That is peak mean girl shit. The Trix literally went to a beauty pageant for the sole sake of making everyone look stupid and to trash on everyone’s fashion and makeup. On top of all of that she did that just because Lucy agreed to do their homework for ???? amount of time. Let’s be real, it was a life sentence.
Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for! Nerd!
Literally every time she calls anyone a nerd or a loser I wheeze because, girl, check yourself! Prior to getting kicked out (for being a dumb jock), it is heavily implied that Icy, Darcy, and Stormy were at the top of their classes. Like these three were Griffin’s best students. And I am inclined to believe that Icy was thee top student. This woman was an overachiever whether she wants to admit it or not.
Icy is the plan person. She’s the one who keeps the Trix on task. Though Darcy exudes ‘group mom’ energy, Icy is usually the one to snap at them to stay focused. She’s the organized one  and the one who seems to do most of the scheming. That takes some deep thinking and brain power. She knows how to summon monitors, banish trolls into oblivion, astral project into virtual reality using voodoo dolls, summon nightmare monsters, and summon an army of rot. Like how does she know all of this?  Studying. I almost said that I have no proof except in the Winx comics (this one) she is seen venturing to the library to research dark magic and spells. 90% she has done some extensive research and reading into all of these things because I highly doubt that Cloud Tower teaches things like summoning the army of decay. That was all down time research because this nerd enjoys learning about dark magic. Ya know who else enjoys reading and learning? Nerds. I know, I’m a nerd who loves reading and learning. Just because she likes learning about ~cool~ thinks like dark armies, doesn’t mean it’s not a nerdy quest to know everything about the subject she knows.
Speaking of which (lol get it, witch), Icy also knows about history. She was the one who told Bloom all about what happened to Sparks and all about the coven. Why? Because that knowledge is floating around in her brain and she chose to retain it. I have a feeling her knowledge of history goes beyond the coven and Sparks too because she also knew that the Ring Of Solaria had fragments of the dragon fire.  She knows too much about this shit.
I think that her nerdiest moment though, had to be when she solved that riddle at Red Fountain to get the codex. Like you have to have brain power to solve a riddle with the added pressure of being surrounded by your foes on enemy territory. In general her nerdiness just bled through in that season because she was snatching those codexes left and right.
Also lets get into the fact that she (especially in the comics) has a tendency to humiliate herself, whoops. She managed to get her own (and Darcy & Stormy’s) memories erased, she got them trapped in an avalanche (and then dated a fellow nerd for two seconds and pretended like she didn’t hate it), and she is constantly pulling ‘we’ll be back’ speeches every time she gets defeated. Like seriously this is the evil equivalent of ‘lol I meant to do that’ or ‘haha, that didn’t happen, you didn’t see anything.’ And then she will make her next attempt as if she had never gotten defeated at all. Because losing is for losers and Icy ‘totally isn’t’ a loser.
And honestly what’s more nerdy then prattling off your entire evil plan? Like this is her trying to flex her intelligence.
Let’s not forget how she had her nerdy fangirl moment. She simped for Darko for like two or three whole comics. Like full on simping over here. If she could have bought a T-shirt with Darko’s face on it, she would have. Bonus, he was her childhood crush.
And finally, I am also very  inclined to believe that Icy is the fake it until you make is sort. With her it’s all about presentation. The only thing that saves her from being an obvious nerd is confidence. I touched on this with the whole ‘you didn’t see anything’ bit. But legit, pretty much everything she does would be kinda nerdy if she didn’t make it look good.
Please feel free to add if you think that you have more examples of Icy being a nerd.

oh cool! gonna be under the cut since it's a little long!
Winx would be so much better if it had consistent characterization throughout all the seasons and the character's personalities weren't reset all the time. It would also be really nice if they could come up with other relationship drama that we haven't seen a million times.
After decades, Pepe was finally found with his new found duck family. He's very happy, he's chilling (hahah), and he's getting therapy for the treatment that icy put him through. He also has weekly talks with Knut 😌
The annual Miss Magix Pageant was canceled because they found out what the Trix did that one time and considered it too dangerous to go on. It also promoted unrealistic beauty standards and they didn't want young girls to feel horrible about themselves anymore.
Bloom made an artwork of Sky but then got sad. Idk man I'm thinking of what she typically draws and Sky always makes her sad 😔
Stella finally made a new shade of pink by working together with Tecna to figure out how to manipulate light beams in order for people to see it.
Flora’s experiments almost KILLED TECNA?????
Musa was spotted sulking at the emo balcony because she does that daily at this point it'd be easier to answer why she isn't sulking at the emo balcony.
Aisha found her favourite dance routine which involved a mix of ballet and pop dancing. The best of both worlds one may say.
Five students left Alfea after Tecna expressed slight disappointment in their work and student ethic. I would cry 😔
Sky and Brandon would switch identities again later on because they had to get into someplace and the guard didn't believe them when they said Sky was the prince 🤭
Riven went to the Omega Dimension alone because he wanted to see what all the hubbub was about aldjhglajdh no but actually he probably had to like. retrieve something that tecna left or maybe make it angsty and his mom is there or something
After a fit of rage, Icy made an ice sculpture of herself(?) for stress relief. idk i just think it would be funny. maybe of all three of them :)
Darcy has imaginary conversations with her duplicates about the most immoral kind of magic (darcy1: obviously it's necromancy; darcy 2: nonono it's clearly enchantment?????; darcy 3: girls girls please, are you forgetting about blood magic?)
Stormy is often seen crying to herself in the rain because feel the rain on your skin. no one else can feel it for you. only you can let it in. no one else, no one else can speak the words on your lips.
Faragonda and Griffin sometimes meet at the cafe to talk about their marriage, obviously.
