Band of Brothers as Florence + The Machine songs
Tumblr media
because i've done them as hozier songs (part 1 // part 2) and Florence is the love of my life
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Richard Winters - Dog Days Are Over
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father / Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers / Leave all your love and your longing behind / You can't carry it with you if you want to survive
Lewis Nixon - No Choir
But I must confess / I did it all for myself / I gathered you here to hide from some vast unnameable fear / But the loneliness never left me / I always took it with me / But I can put it down in the pleasure of your company
Ronald Speirs - Daffodil
I'm not bad, I'm not good / I drank every sky that I could / Made myself mythical, tried to be real / Saw the future in the face of a / Daffodil
Carwood Lipton - Free
Is this how it is? / Is this how it's always been? / To exist in the face of suffering and death / And somehow still keep singing? / Oh, like Christ up on a cross / Who died for us, who died for what? / Oh, don't you wanna call it off?
Eugene Roe - Wish That You Were Here
And I never minded being on my own / Then something broke in me and I wanted to go home / To be where you are / But even closer to you, you seem so very far
Harry Welsh - Patricia
I drink too much coffee and think of you often / In a city where reality has long been forgotten / And are you afraid? 'Cause I'm terrified / But you remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love
Buck Compton - Third Eye
You don't have to be a ghost / Here amongst the living / You are flesh and blood / And you deserve to be loved / And you deserve what you are given / And oh, how much? / 'Cause there's a hole where your heart lies / And I can see it with my third eye

hello ! i didn’t know that you were taking requests omg i would have spam you sooner. i don’t know if you have seen enzo’s last ig story in snow but ommmg if you could write a fluffy request based on that story
like reader wakes up and she doesn’t find him, she just found a little note that he went walking into the forest so she goes back to sleep and when she wakes up after, she opens her insta and found his ig story. immediately she tells him to come back in their apartment bc she’s terribly afraid he might get lost in the snow or catch a big cold
he’s like no never im strong and i survived lsdln lmfao but when he comes back even though he doesn’t want to admit it, he’s completely frozen and he starts to sneeze and he’s starting to be really sick so reader has to pamper him 🥺🥺 warm a hot bath for him, prepare a soup or a tea, put him in bed.
like i just imagine them being in bed after he supplied her to stay in bed and reader telling him next time stop playing enzo the snow king bc look at you right now baby you have fever and you’re hiding inside my sweater 😭 and him still doesn’t want to admit that he took a big risk for his health, being like « who told u i’m not faking being sick just to sleep under you pullover next to your/my 🍒 » 🤭🤭
okay my imagination might be too big lol
Tumblr media
Lucia’s Notes: I love this request dear nonnie, because I feel like he’d be like a little boy when sick. I hope you enjoy this little drabble.
Content Warning: I don’t think there are any warnings, this is just fluff.

"Winter's warmth"| Enzo Vogrincic
You wake up when the lack of Enzo’s warm body against yours hits you like a ton of bricks and turn around looking for him curling more into the blankets to shield yourself from the cold of the outside world. As you look around you find a little note on his bedside table and grab it to read it “Morning honey, woke up early and decided to take a stroll around the woods, love you xo. En” You look out the window and see the clouded snowy picture burying yourself back into your blankets and going back to sleep.
An hour or so later, you finally open your eyes and grab your phone to start roaming all the social media and messages you might have missed. When you finally fall onto Instagram Enzo’s story is the first one up there, you click on it to see what your fugitive boyfriend’s been up to while you slept in. One look at his snow-covered hair is enough to make you shoot up on the bed sitting up hastily calling this crazy man you call yours. As soon as you hear the click on the line of the call being picked up you say “Enzo Vogrincic Roldan, what the fuck are you doing out there with this snowstorm!? You’re gonna get sick, you could get lost even!” the tone of your voice rising in alarm at the thought of your boyfriend wandering too far from the apartment you rented for your holiday and not being able to find his way back safely.
You hear his low melodious lazy laugh on the other end of the call “Good morning to you too chiquita, don’t worry about it, I’m not far and I’ve figured out how to get back, and as to getting sick, I would never, I survived filming La sociedad, remember? I’m immune to cold” You roll your eyes at his stupid bravado “Don’t roll your eyes baby, I’m fine, I’ll be there soon with some pastries for breakfast, you get some coffee started, will you?” you sigh getting up “just come back love”. As you hang up you get up putting on one of his sweaters that are just lying around the room before heading to the kitchen smiling at the fireplace in the living room. Just as you’re pouring the mugs of hot coffee Enzo walks into the apartment ruffling the snow off his long raven-colored locks and trying to muffle a sneeze so you won’t hear it. You shoot around as he’s failed to conceal it from you. “I’m just fine babe, don’t look at me like that” Enzo retorts to your arched brow.
Tumblr media
Later on that day you can see him shivering and sneezing more frequently and look at him “Ok, that’s it, you’re coming down with a cold love, I’ll draw you a warm bath and make you some tea with honey for when you get out” And he knows by the look on your face to better not argue it and nods softly “thank you love”.
Once he’s out of the bath and you’re both cuddled in bed with your tea mugs as you play with his unruly locks absentmindedly you whisper “Now, could you stop playing Enzo king in the north and not go out in the snow next time? look how you’re feeling now, you have a fever, you’re even hiding in my sweater like a little kitten” you kiss his forehead to check if the paracetamol you gave him has started working yet. He shoots his face up to look at you, glossy eyes trying to look offended by what you said, “But I’m not sick baby, I just enjoy cuddling my girlfriend and snuggling away on my…sorry, your boobs”. You laugh at his silly statement and nod softly “I’m sure that’s it baby”. You keep playing with his hair seeing him slowly drift off to sleep as you admire his peaceful features tracing his nose lightly with your finger and smiling to yourself wondering how you ever got so lucky to get to share your life with a man such as this.
Tumblr media
P.S: This was just adorable to write, I had the silliest smile on the whole time. I really hope you enjoyed it.

Day 6: Doctor turned patient
Ryo/Alex drabble for @medwhumpmay. Ryo’s a veterinarian, but that’s a doctor right? Also this is a two parter, with the second part tomorrow!
Ryo’s graduation is one of the most significant days of his life. He’s been in veterinary school for what feels like insanely long. His relationship has survived two US and one global tour where Alex was hundreds, even thousands of miles away while he studied and stayed right in place in New York. And yet the years have gone faster than Ryo expected, even if some days felt like they would never end.
Everybody who’s important to him is there: Alex, of course. Ryo’s parents and Shu, who are all proud for good reason because this would’ve been impossible at times without them. Elliot and Cliff sit behind them, their new baby fastened to Cliff’s chest in a cloth carrier. And then all of his closest friends are here too, graduating alongside him. It’s a really happy day. At least, it should be. Except Ryo woke up in the middle of the night with a 103 fever and his teeth chattering so hard that it woke Alex up.
It’s definitely the flu, and Ryo realizes then that he forgot to get his flu shot that past winter. It’s ridiculous and maybe a little ironic: the day he finally becomes a doctor and he’s sick as a dog. Still, he’s not missing this ceremony for the world and Alex knows better than to try and persuade him otherwise. This only happens once, it’s Ryo’s crown achievement in his life thus far, and he is not going to let a little flu keep him from enjoying it.
By the end of the first hour of maudlin speeches and a painfully dull keynote speaker, Ryo’s wondering if he should’ve stayed home. Damien, his best friend, keeps nudging him to remember to sit up. It’s getting increasingly difficult to heed this advice. His head is killing him, he’s freezing even in a vinyl black gown in June, and he’s starting to see little black dots in his vision.
He’s totally, absolutely going to pass out. How he’s going to walk across that stage in front of this huge crowd is anyone’s guess. When they call his name, Damien literally shoves him out of his chair to stand up. Just one more push. He’s done this for eight long, incredible, difficult years and this is the last push.
Somehow, with blurry vision and a forced, dizzy smile, Ryo stumbles up to the stage. He shakes people’s hands, is handed his diploma, and takes a staged picture with the president of his school. And then when he walks off stage, instead of returning to his seat like he’s supposed to, he makes a beeline for the bathrooms where he knows he can finally stop pretending that he’s okay.
“Sir, you can’t go this way,” someone says.
Ryo doesn’t even look at them and just mumbles, “I’m literally gonna puke,” and pushes past them. It seems like a better excuse than ‘I need to pass out.’
He makes it down one hall inside the building, stumbles into a wall, and then things go dark.

there's something sooooooo heartbreaking about quests as a narrative piece. you set out on this journey to rescue someone or defeat a great evil and along the way you face hardship and horror and you grieve and fight and love and lose and then when it's all over you come home. everything is the same as when you left, but you're so irrevocably different that you no longer fit in the one place you used to be truly at peace. you're tired from your journey but you find no rest or recovery, only ghosts. and you almost wish for another quest, another dangerous mission, because at least then you know your purpose.

It's that time of year again where it gets a little warmer and I remember that Amphibia is a show I very much enjoy thinking about. Have some Anne outfits, as a treat <3
If you would like to see what aspect of headcanon/ au worldbuilding had consumed my consciousness like a pestering maggot, feel free to continue below.
Hello! Welcome to I focus on researching one very specific detail until I burn out!
My entire day has been consumed by figuring out how Amphibia's farming works. Like... amphibians are carnivores why do they have farms?
Well, I'll tell you why! The Plantars grow animal feed for predominantly crickets but also others such as silkworms, spiders, snails, etc. They grow produce like cabbage, mushrooms, parsnips, potatoes, dandelions, and turnips as well as heartfruit, a fruit not found on Earth.
In the past, the original amphibian hunter/gatherer societies found that mealworms were attracted to fallen heartfruit, among others. They began to use this knowledge to make traps and eventually began both containing the worms as well as growing the fruit.
Despite mealworms historical prominence in the farming and feeding of Amphibia, crickets are more popular nowadays due to their higher levels of protein. They also began growing a larger variety of produce to further increase efficiency.
Heartfruit is a kind of tree grown fruit with the color of a raspberry, size of a kumquat, and shape of a peach (hence the name). The Plantar's orchard is the only producer of this fruit as its traditionally significant but not necessary for frog kind. They are Anne's personal favorite of the Plantar's produce, being chalk full of nutrients and somehow feels nostalgic to her.
Speaking of Anne, she survives mostly on the Plantar's produce along with cricket meat (knowing that she can at least eat crickets).
After discovering that the amphibians hibernate, she begins to plant pole beans, blueberries, elderberries, and other produce and herbs in her greenhouse to cultivate while she forages and stockpiles for winter. She preps and stores wild rice, pecans, and sunflower seeds (discovered through trial and error). She keeps spare root veggies and other product in the basement. The Plantars help her do this, once they understand the situation, drying heartfruit and salting and smoking fish as well as making jerky out of bugs that they know she can have.
Anne's gonna learn to survive, even if the first winter is especially hard.

this is albusthefakepitbull it won’t let me ask from that blog but anyway 😂 i am toying with the idea of vt as a move and wanted to know how the dog stuff is, i just wanna be able to take my dog to bite people without being hate crimed and try some low key sports nothing wild. i know that’s not really your jam but all my local to there friends are horse people. thanks !
I'm not super well versed in other sports beyond the mushing community here I'm going to be honest with you. I'd assume though if you moved here that you'd likely need to travel out of state for bite sports or a majority of organized sports for that matter. Everything in Vermont is small and our "population centers" do not compare to other states (second lowest population in the country bby) so we have less stuff in general. If you did southern Vermont you could travel into MA and if you did eastern Vermont you could travel into NH no problem, but then it becomes well...living in Vermont is usually a lot more expensive than those places.
My most important piece of advise is please visit before you decide. And not just Burlington or Stowe or any of the tourist traps. and not just in summer or autumn.

Mad that the only way you can appreciate Fallout 4 is when you have the option to Fast Travel removed.
And I mean like, physically disabled. The game will not allow you to fast travel (except for using the Vertibird grenades).
I was so sad by the distress call from Fallon's (even though I allowed it to loop for 30 minutes as I tried to get a Perfectly Preserved Pie). Listening to the crying of the woman trapped in the Jewelry Department safe.
Her final words were about how thirsty she was.
I left her skeleton a can of purified water and closed the door.

On garden and winter food
I've decided to go and take inventory of all of my canned good, to figure out what kind of stash do I have for this winter, and to know how quickly am I allowed to go thru it. Half an hour of counting and sorting in my basement informed me I had 37 jars of salty-sour types of preserves, and 32 jars of sweet preserves. This is more sweet stuff than I've had in the past, but not nearly enough of salty-sour. 'What was I thinking?' I said to myself, and then I remembered, no, it's not for a lack of planning, I was sick the whole summer, I've done all canning I possibly could. The lesson was just not to get covid in the summer.
Still, I was worried it wouldn't be enough to get me thru the winter, and, since I've been so sick and neglecting my garden, it wasn't going to start producing a lot of new food anytime soon. Not going to the garden for so long really affected its production.
I later remembered, that I forgot to count all of the non-canned stash. I've put extra effort in dried food this year, I have over 10 jars of dried goods (tomatoes, zuchinni, mushrooms, roots, fruit), and there are many meals that can be made out of that. I also have plenty of potatoes, my two big bags of walnuts, many squashes, lots of garlic, and, the ability to still forage for apples and wild edibles.
Usually at this time I would be getting lots of carrots and broccoli from the garden, and some kale, but since it wasn't all planted in time, I have none of that. What I do have is black radish (or turnip, I'm not sure if it's black radish or black turnip. It's white on the inside, and big), celery, parsley, chives, cabbage savoy (not very big), swiss chard, green onions. Which is not a whole lot, but it's a valuable source of fresh produce. I also could possibly locate the jerusalem artichoke planted somewhere in the field, I love eating them during the winter.
I've had to face my own food issues, and that is that I'm incredibly stubborn not to buy anything that I can make myself, and also lazy to make it myself after I don't buy it. For instance, I could make a meal from pasta and a sauce made with sun-dried tomatoes, but I refuse to buy pasta, and I'm never starting the food making process until I'm hungry. So I end up never making it. The entire ordeal can be avoided if I reserved one day, to make a big batch of homemade pasta, have it dry, and then I could make tons of meals from dried good and pasta! Like pasta with mushroom sauce, pasta with zuchinni sauce, cabbage and pasta, pasta salad, those are things I would definitely eat!
In this spirit, I did gather my enegry and made a big thing of pasta, occupying the entire kitchen while it was drying for the whole day. Then I stuffed it all into a large jar, and now I have a big decorative jar with pasta sticking out, and it looks so pretty, now I just never want to eat it. Nobody has yet figured out that it's pasta in the jar, everyone thinks it's some decorative plants in there. It's understandable, since I'm known to put plants in jars for decoration.
I also have some new exciting preserves that I made for the first time this year! My first innovation was related to the pears; we have a pear tree close to the building, but it produces extremely tough and difficult to eat types of pears, everyone just ignores it. Except me, I scurry around it and scramble to collect all of the pears and then I cook them into a compot, feeling like an evil mastermind for figuring out how to eat them. Eventually, I got tired of the compot, and then I figured I could try making a pear-sauce, like an applesauce, but with pears. I wasn't sure if it was gonna go well, because they were so tough and not very sweet, but the result was absolutely fantastic; it's smooth and delicious and sweet. I love this more than I love applesauce. Pleased with my pear-related success.
I also made a spicy jam, made out of blackberries, grapes and plums, and then I added a few hot peppers in. I did this because every single winter I am longing for sweet-spicy mix, and I felt that I would want to eat it. And I was right, when my sinuses started to act up, I was grateful to have a spicy preserve that could make them clear up. I actually think it could be spicier next year.
I'll find out this winter, if I prefer eating the preserves or using the dry goods for recipes, drying is definitely easier and takes less effort, but it should be eaten before February, when the bugs eggs will start to activate inside, making it way less appealing. So that's where the canned goods come into play, they are completely protected from being eaten or spoiled. Hopefully next summer, I'll be healthy and better at getting more canning done.
