Heyo hi-o everyone, just a quick bit of warnings for this cause it’s not my usual bit of fanart. First off, major spoilers for OMORI and this is a pretty far off scene in @tsukithewolf‘s fanfic so be sure to read that. Along with that, since it’s a nightmare, there’s blood, gore, and other unsettling things in this comic so view at your own discretion.

hi ( sorry I finally found the ask lol) I love your work and I have a few questions for the giant siren au.
1.what are the giant sirens opinions on humans. Do they lure humans to eat them or like steal their stuff. Maybe that’s how they got the things they wear like chains head bands and tops.
2.what were each one of the families first experience with humans
3.are they’re ages the same as humans or do they live a lot longer in order to develope such growth.
4.what are the sirens biggest rivals? Still humans?
Not a question but I’d like to see or read more about the encanto sea community and other sirens

WHAT'S UO AND WELCOME❓❗ Glad you could find it. Anyway of course I have answers. Ya girls been into world building lately, lucky for you.
Sirens, at least with the Encanto Island community, do not like humans. It is a well-known and stated fact among the people that humans are dangerous creatures and are out for them.
Guppies are told to never go near ships, it's hammered into their heads. Of course, if a swarm of guppies gets ahold of the ship, the humans should probably stay away from them. They are very smart, and very cunning, and will feign innocence. As for grown sirens, yes, they will lure humans, but nine times out of ten, it's away from the islands. Despite it being covered in thick fog, they still don't let anyone through. And yeah, the chains, flags, anchors, even glass are used by the sirens. They will take them, especially since it's such a rare thing to find.
Alma is very against humans. Her first 'real' experience interacting with them was when Pedro was killed. So.
The triplets were sheltered from humans as guppies, and didn't even really see them until they got older. They had gotten to help scavenge a shipwreck, and a survivor kimda sorta tried to attack them, not even out of malice, it was out of fear. Felíx, when he was first out of his shell, accidentally capsized a boat, and did his best to fix it. Keywords, 'did his best'. Agustin was on the land of the island, and he tried to talk to them, but due to his size ended up scaring them off. Isabela and Dolores ties in with Luisa, they were with a school and they were kind of on like. A field trip with the caretakers of the Grotto and ended up getting to see a fishing ship. Isabela and Dolores didn't like the humans. Luisa didn't see how they were dangerous. Camilo and Mirabel's ties in as well. This was the first guppy incident that implemented the rule of guppy schools not being able to out ratio the caretakers (the ratio is 1 caretaker for every 15 guppies. This was latter changed after the second incident.). They, and the other guppies within the school, raided a ship for all the food they had. This also implemented the feeding schedule for them lmao. Antonio's encounter was similar to Camilo and Mirabel's, just not nearly as severe.
So. They age about the same as humans until they grow out their shells. So like, maybe between 5-9.
They don't stop aging, just age slower. Alma is probably older than you might think. Same with other elders. It's not entirely known how they age, but they stop aging like humans after they leave the shell. They develop similarly I wanna say, especially as guppies considering they're most human-like. Grown sirens biology is like humans, but there are differences.
Yes. It's still humans. It will likely stay humans too.
To humans, giant sirens are considered sea beasts. They think they're meant to be hunted and out down. Hence why sirens live on giant inhabited islands in pods/communities. Their biggest ally are jellyfish. Giant sirens and jellyfish go way back. So poisonous and defensive jellyfish will defend against humans, by instinct. Most the guppy grotto and most shells have some kind of jellyfish near them, typically box jellyfish and moon jellyfish, both for different purposes of course.

Some drawings RAHHHHH 🦅🦅 First one is the caretakers and their shifts lmao <33 Ignacio and Maria were specifically set to night shift because. They can glow in the dark/provide self sustaining light.
Second is basically what the island would look like. It's far bigger than pictured, and the community itself stretches far beneath the ocean and across the ocean floor. Part of it goes to a trench below the island, for deep sea sirens like Ignacio.
This one is really just a joke but. It guppies are not fed they will eat inanimate objects. Things that aren't meant to be eaten. Whoever's watchin them gotta pull it out of their mouths, because they won't listen if you ask them to spit it out.
Second one is. Just sleeping, because growing out of their shells is surprisingly very tiring, and takes a few weeks.

Oh I’m so glad you and plant anon agree with me on my vn red flags/icks! Like I said a lot of the red flags and icks I tend to have are really subjective so I get that some people will love what I kinda hate but it’s nice to see I’m not alone on stuff :)
Also, is it bad that I kinda wanna hear more about Heir to Love and Lie? I’ve never played any Fictif games but this sounds like some hot gossip I want in on, tell me more about how bad of a game it is lol. From an outsider perspective I think it’s kinda funny how it’s like “Yes the Fictif app has a bunch of great and fun stories with a ton of good content- NO DONT LOOK AT THAT STORY ITS HIDEOUS-” I know the stories are probably made by different teams so it makes sense that there’s differences in quality but still
Last Legacy and now Roadkill have peaked my interest since I’ve seen you talk about it here (I had never heard of Fictif at all before) but I’ve been a little hesitant to give the games a try because they’re mobile games and frankly I’m not the biggest fan of playing vn style games on mobile, I used to all the time but the grinding for stuff like story keys just to get content that may or may not be good kinda grated on me so I stopped and haven’t looked back. But idk maybe I’ll decide to give Fictif a chance when I have the time, your love for the games are definitely convincing me to give it a shot :)

Ok so i’ll start by saying that you should def play roadkil, last legacy and monster manor on the fictif app, WITH A CRACKED VERSION! If you have an Android play with a mod app and you won’t have to pay for the special choice ( you still have to wait for keys tho but it’s manageable) I personally use Modyolo. With the mod there is no grind, you just wait for your keys to regenerate to play the chapters.
Why you should play last legacy ? Last legacy is a really well written fantasy romance made by queers, for queers with good queers characters. The narrative is limited but realize that fans of this game haven’t had update in 2 years and we all still love this, that how good the game is for us. What I really appreciate is the approach of the romance, the well-written worldbuilding, and the interesting plot and evolution of the li throughout the story + bonus points the art is really pretty + the music is awesome
This is an otome where you feel the passion of the dev because of all the details and care they put into the characters. It sad that we’ll never get an ending but just because it’s my second favorite otome after Our life i really recomand.
Now another wonderful story on the app is Monster manor. It’s a reviseted tale of beauty and the beast where mc is a reparator that come helps the resident of the manor to fix the place and also fix their issue. Again it’s very well written and although you can get subtile subtext on romance this one is very axed on exploring the character's mental health and their story of self-improvement. ALSO IT HAS A CANON TRANS DRAGON CREATURE WHO’S THE SWEETEST I LOVE HIM HE’S SO WHOLESOME-
Bonus the music is so good i even added it on my spotify- and good art
Monster Manor is one of those stories that leave a very specific feeling in you. I don't know how to describe it but it just has a lot of wholesomeness and character going troughs sad but relatable problems that you see get better and makes you happy that they're healing.

THE BROMANCE OF THIS GAME IS SO GOOD I swear
Objectively: This game feels like a wild mess of fan fiction with random scenario after scenario and cliché horror moments, but oh man the ambiance. The best trio of Li, they are close friends, and in the 3 routes the group is just such an amazing friend group. The characters are lovely and it's like reading a bad yet good wattpad fanfic : well written ? no ? But the ideas ? good !
Like i said, this game is based on cliché of horror movies but also on american culture ( which I learned trought this game lol ). It has longer chapters than the other two games (except Tess but Tess got hit by the sexism of a greedy company that wants shirtless men in dating sim to attract gurls ) BUT they all shine.
Poe's route had me ugly crying in the end, Howie's ending is AWFULL but I had a great time, Tess is actually a superbe F Li even whith the dev having to cut her short and ruin her ending, she shine very britgh in the other routes and her own ( for ex she's the one with a shotgun and the one that won you and howie a teddy bear )
I really need more people to play roadkill because it's an underated banger in my opinion and it has many great scenes in the mess of scenarios ( the intro is really good for ecxemple )
Like, when I say not all game needs to be well written? That's what I'm talking about, this one is a hot delightful mess

omg so I read this manga this morning called Sesame Salt and Pudding and it’s ab this 22 y/o girl who gets drunk and accidentally marries a stranger, who happens to be 42. it’s the cutest lil slice of life just a really healthy relationship and all i could think was this would be the funniest meet cute for Erwin.

This one I admittedly dont have much for, mainly because i keep going back and forth on a lot and idk if I wanna do a oneshot or basically rewrite the entire Baby Saga lol.
So similar to another fic of mine, this will be a partial retelling of episode 25 "Baby's Arrival" where Baby attacks Goten. But instead of Valese being there, its MarTen after theyre already engaged? or married?
Most of it plays out like normal but he resists the body control like Trunks did "get out of my body!!1" type thing, and not gonna lie thats all I got. That one is def low priority considering how much I have to work out.
As for Home, this one is another one thats like 80% done lol.
In that, its basically a ittle slice of life moment where Goten comes home from work and the twins + his wifey are waiting for him. Grandpa Goku kept the twins occupied all day cause their mommy had a much needed day off. And the twins are the definition of :D when they see their dad. Plus grandpa taught em a little trick and they wanna show him.
Its more of the usual wholesome stuff from me lol

who would be the one to randomly adopt a puppy without consultation? payton, and she probably did it for a good reason, too. probably found, like, an ad that said if someone doesn’t adopt the dog, it will be sent to a shelter so she went and took it in, so he can’t even be mad at her for long. later that day, they go to the store to buy some stuff for the doggo. decide on a name together. it’s very wholesome.
who would force the other to take aesthetic pictures of them? payton, but she wouldn’t really be forcing him. sometimes he doesn’t need any convincing. he’ll just look at her in that certain light, think ‘what the fuck, she’s beautiful’ and take a photo. sometimes even when she isn’t looking.
who would do stuff they think is stupid just to make the other one happy? adam. please use this as a reference. also, chances are he automatically stops finding something stupid if she’s the one asking for it.
who picks out the horror movies to watch just so the other will cling to them? payton picks it, adam’s like “are you sure? it’s scary and last time we watched something scary you couldn’t sleep for two days”, she’s like “i can handle it!” but then she’s spooked the whole time so he has to cuddle her under the blankie for moral support.
who is constantly studying and who is constantly trying to distract them? adam’s trying to do some bar paperwork stuff like a good manager but she keeps throwing stuff at him and hugging him from behind and trying to straddle him until he picks her up and pins her down. <3
who initiates the facetime calls whenever they’re separated? payton, because adam hates facetime. she is, however, one of the few people he’ll actually do it with and not complain. she used to always ask him beforehand is she can call him on video chat because she knows he’s usually not all for it, but after some time he told her she can do it whenever, doesn’t need permission. he’s always pleased to see her face, tbh.
who is more likely to storm out after a fight and who is more likely to cry when they do? depends. sometimes it’s payton but instead of crying, adam gets really fucking mad and breaks something. sometimes it’s adam. he’ll slams the door, too. but if he as much as hears her cry, he’ll be back there in under a minute to hug it out.
who stays up way too late binge-watching their favorite shows? adam, the king of never fucking sleeping. they’ll start watching something in bed together, payton ends up drifting off, and he stays up for at least four more hours, finishing the season. will either put in headphones and try to be very careful not to wake her up or move to the living room like a considerate man.
who bites the other’s ear when they’re feeling frisky? adam, cause it makes her squirm and he fucking loves it. will start with the ear, then slowly make his way down her neck, probably feeling her up in the meantime.
who sprays the other with water when they’re washing the car? payton and adam’s like “haha wow aren’t you the funniest 🙄🙄” but sprays her back when she’s not looking.
who has more fun decorating the house during holidays? payton and she looks so damn happy doing it he literally can’t help but have fun as well, even when she puts that tacky santa hat on his head. oh, he also definitely lifts her up so she can put the star on top of the tree.
who is more likely to give the silent treatment when they’re mad at the other? adam, but that’s mostly bc he barely ever speaks.
who plays with the others’ hair more? they both do. both of them have amazing hair, so they take advantage of it. little spa days where he lets payton braid his hair and then tries to do the same with hers. aside from that, he likes to pull it a lot.
who is more likely to climb all over the other one when they’re bored? payton. will climb on him like she’s a kitten and he’s a fuckin’ curtain. sometimes starts giving him tiny little kisses, nuzzles his neck, occasionally rests her head in his lap… the whole time, he’s just there like 🥺
who tries to kiss the other as often as they can? ugh, i feel like they both do? perks of not being able to keep their hands off of each other, ig. payton maybe does it more often, but while adam acts all against pda and whatnot, he can be quite a clingy boyfriend. they’ll be at the bar, she’s in his lap, wants to get up to go somewhere with her friend but he won’t let her go until she gives him a kiss.
who pouts when the other one tells them to shut the fuck up? payton, and you best believe when i say it’s the cutest little pout.
who initiates the sex and who walks away when the other is riled up? they both initiate sex. again, not being able to stay away from each other 🙄 but adam is def the dickhead who walks away after getting her excited. wants her all wet and desperate and begging before he wrecks her. <3
who always forgets the umbrella and who holds it when they actually have one? adam thinks he’s too macho for the rain so he probably doesn’t even own one. payton is the one who brings it along, even tries to hold it, gets on her toes to reach above his head before he takes it from her and holds it himself. makes more sense that way, since he’s much taller.
who demands showering first in the mornings? no one really demands anything. payton usually showers first simply because she’s up before him, but sometimes he’ll join her in the bathroom later on and they’ll have a chat while she’s washing her hair and he’s brushing his teeth.
who sneaks into the shower with the other one in the mornings? they both do because they never lock the doors when showering. always an opportunity for the other to sneak right in, and they take it whenever they can. guess we could say they’re not big on wasting water, yeah?
who prefers riding the roller coasters and who prefers playing the games? payton wants to ride the roller coaster even though she’s scared. adam goes with her so she can squeeze the life out of his hand at all the crazy turns. meanwhile, he likes to sometimes play the games and win stuff for her because she’s always so happy and grateful for every silly toy he brings back.
who will text the other one thirty times in a row until they respond? payton, she’s just got a lot to say. can’t fit it all into one message. adam probably does it sometimes when drunk because autocorrect just isn’t his friend.
who always forgets to charge their phone overnight? neither? i feel like adam has thought it’s charging that one time, but he didn’t plug it properly. payton noticed and fixed it so he wouldn’t have a hard time in the morning. heroic behavior.
who comes up behind the other and slide their hands into their back pockets? payton. she’ll rest her head against his back, they’ll stand there like that for a moment, but then he turns around and wraps his arms around her.
who tries to get hugs from the other as often as they can? both, but i lowkey wanna say adam... he’ll often do stuff like randomly pull her into a hug. thinks she smells amazing, likes to keep her close. also, when he cares about you, he’s quite good at giving hugs, so this is definitely fun for both sides.
who is louder and who constantly has the tell the other to be quiet? again, adam barely makes noises, so probably payton. adam would be louder in an argument, though. and we all know payton’s louder in bed, but he never tells her to be quiet. scream for him, please.

soooo...one-shots/long-shots:
kenobi series speculation fic -- currently about 11k words so far, hopefully to be posted on friday or so. (basically. obi-wan. vader.)
all that glitters is gold -- something that was the result of an ask game, post-tpm anakin and obi-wan softness.
post-mortis angst -- idk. obi-wan drops a plate because his hands are shaking. anakin and ahsoka are both wary of each other. just. trio trying to be okay after whatever the heck was the mortis experience.
the rest was confetti -- an anon request about post-rotj anakin and obi-wan.
obi-wan’s-a-little-high-on-pain-meds-and-accidentally-reveals-things -- exactly what it says. anakin and ahsoka are kinda horrified, but obi-wan’s just like ‘lol yeah that was fun. haha. glad i got out of that one alive amirite’. (kinda starting off fluffy, def. going into h/c).
blueberry muffins -- another result of an ask game. ahsoka bakes muffins for like...a family day. she just gives muffins to everyone and they all figure it out and. it’s just wholesome family stuff.
i loved you like the sun -- another result of an ask game! (asdfsdf there was this one day that everyone sent in fake titles, and i came up with a fic to correspond to them.) this is. anakin and obi-wan angst. probably post-rots, pre-rots. angst.
sad post season 5/ahsoka runs into injured anakin and obi-wan and of course helps them -- just like what it says on this scribbled note in my spreadsheet. i’ve been listening to congratulations by blue october on repeat while writing this fic.
we’re in the same boat but make it tcw -- uh, so i listened to in the same boat from the lightning thief musical, and i just. i pictured ahsoka, anakin, and obi-wan just all tired and grouchy and cranky because they’ve been flying the same ship for like. a week. and they’re all kinda antsy, and uh. mayhaps anakin and ahsoka are bickering and obi-wan’s trying to keep them all together but of course, things go bonkers. kinda crack, kinda adventure-y.
tickle fic -- an anon recently asked for a fic in which ahsoka accidentally calls obi-wan and anakin her brothers, anakin. obviously. tries to get her to say it again. hence tickling. obi-wan records it. very wholesome.
anakin pls sleep -- idk there’s an episode where obi-wan’s like “anakin. when was the last time you slept?” and. i’m running with it. (probably post-rookies/post-malevolence episodes.) h/c, as expected.
how anakin actually got his scar -- so, george lucas said that anakin probably got his scar slipping in the bathroom or something, so. guess what i’m doing. obi-wan freaks out like the good bestie he is. (kinda funny, kinda h/c, etc.)
diners and obi-wan and ahsoka -- post season 5. obi-wan and ahsoka find each other. they sit in a diner at 2 am. sad.
foster care au? -- also recently got an anon asking about an au in which obi-wan, ahsoka, and anakin are all foster care siblings, and...you know. as someone who is really passionate about the foster care system/really wants to help reform it, i think. it would be interesting. but i’m kinda 50/50 on actually writing this rn.
longform planning/outlining/currently writing (but not yet posted)
getting lost in a big galaxy -- i literally never shut up about this fic, but. obi-wan and ahsoka roadtrip fic. trying to find anakin skywalker, who, for some reason, has vanished off the face of the galaxy. takes place after season 5, so imagine the awkwardness of having a road trip with a daughter who had just cut ties with you.
red, underlined -- uh. so. i started writing the first chapter, and i just finished the outline, and uh. how to get away with murder but make it tcw fam. (everyone’s a stressed law school student, and maybe anakin accidentally murdered professor palpatine, and what the heck are we gonna do now there’s a dead body we need to get rid of the dead body)
still writing pages -- a pitched multichapter fic covering obi-wan and satine’s relationship after the deception arc. letters are involved. it’s a lot. i’ve already created a playlist for it. (although it’s private.)
folklore series -- yeah. tcw x folklore. i’ve got a whole ton of fics planned, but i don’t feel like putting them all under the one-shot section because they’re all kinda secret right now/still in the planning process. (I’ve started/got concrete ideas for about...4 of them so far though!)
so uhh...hoping to get some of these out before the year ends, perhaps december/january. 2021 is gonna be. a lot of stuff.

i had a hard time focusing in lots of the class video calls due to anxiety, so i doodled some portraits of my teachers!! i needed the practice anyway,, i haven't drawn in a while! i sent them teach the finished sketches and they both gushed with compliments!! it really cheered me up, i'm glad i was able to make people happy with my little doodles! 💖 (4/8)
speaking of drawings, i woke up to more artwork made of me! it's so so flattering, truly!! it shocks me how some of these artists do such amazing drawings for free, they're all so talented!!! ooh, and this reminded me, i should probably tell you all that all of the art, picrews, etc that's made for me and morg is saved in a special little photo album on my phone,, i call it "things people have made for me 💕" (5/8)
i like to go through them on bad days to lift my mood, so when i always say that your efforts mean a lot to me, i'm not lying 💓 but don't fret darling, even though we do deal with a lot of trouble in our daily lives, there'll be a time in the future when we'll get away from our bothersome struggles, no? and i do look forward to that incredibly so,, (6/8)

Natsume yuujinchou (a teenage orphan who sees spirits/monsters sets out to free the spirits who were bound in magical contract by his grandmother after he inherits a powerful book, aided primarily by a spirit who appears as an exasperated fat cat (who is just as fun as he sounds). Titular character is like my Fave boy in the whole world, he’s so kind and soft despite all the hardships he’s faced, the series has very gentle pacing/character development, and each episode is a carefully crafted lil story that have often moved me to tears, chuckles, or outright chinhands of fondness as u watch natsume slowly find a home in the world and amongst the humans &spirits around him. big focus on friendships, there’s like no romance with any of the main characters, lots of cool different creatures (most of whom arent all that scary once u get to know them), its just literally everything i could ever dream for in a show and it exists! <3)
Leverage (team of modern day robin hoods ruin rich peoples’ lives via delightfully crafted spy cons to give back to the regular folks the rich people hurt. Extremely good, strong found family vibes, and v cathartic)
Brooklyn 99 (follows diverse cast of character who make up a NY precinct. Hilarious, immensely wholesome & groundbreaking, & probs the most lighthearted crime show besides like psych tbh)
Blackspot/Zone Blanche (spoopy french/belgium crime series set in a small village way out in the mountains surrounded by misty, mysterious and murdery woods. eerie and atmospheric, but also like one of my fave characters (everyone calls him teddy bear) keeps a pet guinea pig at work, so it’s not entirely grim and bleak)
Longmire (a modern western crime drama centering around the titular sheriff and others in their small town wyoming county, well written and lot of chracter development revealed alongside some really good case mysteries bc i love trying to figure out whodunits apparently based on a book series well adored by dads btw)
who is your favorite character in 2? (leverage) ahhh,,, this is hard... Eliot maybe? like Hardison is baby ofc, but i relate to elliot a ton (i think if i was on a team i would want to be the hitter tbh?) and love the subversion of so many action hero tropes that he is, also endlessly amused by how very put upon he is despite all his rad/random skills
who is your least favorite character in 1? (natsume yuujinchou) oh seiji matoba for sure, he can go eat a mouldy tree stump. absolutely evil nasty dude
what is your favorite episode of 4? (blackspot) the end of the road. great opening, didnt end up too devastating unlike a lot of the cases, Hermann was gr8, cool twist i hadnt super expected in the plot which was neat.
what is your favorite season of 5? (longmire) probs 1, walter reeally started to piss me off being Such A Man in later seasons, also me being extremely anxious about Henry and his life choices later, that creepy stalker storyline starting up with Someone and when Someone else in the main cast got died really suddenly and upsettingly later on as well, also when a weird relationship started between some of the characters that i really aint feeling so. before all that happened was nice (also sorry if this is super vague, im trying to avoid spoilers)
who is your favorite couple in 3? (B99) Besides Jake/Amy and Holt/Kevin (bc oviously theyre gr8) uh.. i know it was a long time ago and didnt last very long, but i thought rosa and marcus were really sweet? it brought another layer out to her character, even when they broke up that helped rosa starting to show emotional vulnerability and all, even tho it ended it was still just, idk, i liked them.
who is your favorite couple in 2? (leverage) Does trio count, cos Parker/Eliot/Harding 4 life yo
what is your favorite episode of 1? (natsume yujinchou) i have sooo many faves ahhh!!! i dont think i could pick just one on pain of death, every episode is acrefully cosntructed gem all on its own and i have too many that i love and adore to pick jsut one :((
what is your favorite episode of 5? (longmire) Dog soldier!! ive rewatched that one a ton, so so many good bits, really satisfying resolution of the case despite the shitty system that was revealed, and i rmr getting chills by the end the first time i saw it.
what is your favorite season of 2? (leverage) i guess season 1? just, idk, everything being set up and watching all these grumpies/less grumpies who have no plans to stay together start working together as a baby team, and just the joy of seeing their first heist together with the first plot twist, just.. such a delight, but all seasons that ive seen so far were all excellent, it’s a stellar show
how long have you watched 1? (natsume yujinchou) oh idk exactly, like years and years man... defs the longest out of all on this list
how did you become interested in 3? (b99) i think it was just on netflix way back in season 1 and i started watching it, loved it and never stopped? i think that might have even been before it got rlly popular lol
who is your favorite actor in 4? (blackspot) i dont rlly know any of these french peeps? but teddybear’s one of my fave characters, so hopefully the person who plays him is also cool, in which case hubert delattre (if not, Suliane Brahim does a v good job as the lead)
which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5? (natsume yujinchou, leverage or longmire) um... real torn between natsume and leverage here, they’re both such lovely gems that do found family so, so well.. leverage is a team of modern robin hood-esque spies with brilliant writing and exciting heists and multiple delightful plot twists every episode and great character building and so much catharticism in ruining evil rich peoples lives.
but natsume’s title character is one of my very favorite characters ever, hes been through so much but he becomes the most kindest and thoughtful boy ever, and its so, so soft and gentle in its development of characters and their slow build of getting to know each other and becoming friends, and the interactions with the paranormal world are very rarely entirely malicious/scary, and there’s pretty well no romance, at least like no romance for plot/with the main characters anyways, and there’s lots of female characters who have important roles but arent sexualized/killed off for man feels/exist for romo (which sadly cannot be said about a lot of media, especially manga/anime tbh, even leverage does not win entirely on that front).. its defintiely my favorite anime ever (i dont watch loads, but literally no other one can ever come close to topping its perfection),
i guess tho, leverage is over, and natsume is still technically ongoing, so i guess for that then i have to go with natsume?
which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3? (natsume yuujinchou or b99) Natsume for sure, they’re so short its easy to power thru like half a season in an afternoon
if you could be anyone from 4, who would you be? (blackspot) i would probably want to be someone who didnt live in villefranche actually haha uh, it’s a pretty spoopity place.. even some of the characters i do like make some Bad decisions that are v bothersome. Dr. Leila barami seems to have a good head on her shoulders tho, so if i Must be a character here then let’s go with her
would a crossover between 3 and 4 work? (b99 or blackspot) oh god... the cheery upbeat department at the 99 meet up with a grim, misty tiny mountain forest village with bleak day to day life, solving crimes amidst small town paranoia and weird maybe cult-related conspiracies and honestbhly something/s paranormal and menacing going on in the woods?? i just... cant see any of the characters even interacting lol, im just picturing jake’s confused befuddled face when he hears something weird but like x 10000
pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple? (natsume yujinchou) hm... i mean, one of the things i love about Natsume is that there arent really any romo relationships tbh? at least not with any of the main characters in the main storyline (so far), just like the odd one-off of minor characters (and takashi’s adopted parents ofc, but that’s different). so, yeah, i cant really think of one (although i think the big fandom fave ship of takashi and his worst enemy is rlly.. nope, and i dont know what’s going on there? takashi and tanama however, that would make sense, tho it is not unlikely so i cant answer this question with them)
overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5? (b99 or longmire) b99! cos ya know my annoyances with some of the stuff happening later on in longmire lol, b99 just got better n better as it went along, and it’s still going :’)
which has the better theme music, 2 or 4? (leverage or blackspot) blackspot has a real good eerie atmospheric theme which is gr8 and i love it <3 (leverage’s tune is like, elevator music/cheesy jazzy spy tune, which does suit it tho lol)

The clock finally struck 4:00 PM and I was out of the door. I didn't bother to stay for the staff lunch or even acknowledge it was going on. There was somewhere special I wanted to go, and I've been waiting long enough! After pulling out of the parking lot, I tuned into my favorite radio station. My phone started to ring with one of my coworker's name on the screen.
"Nope." I mumble and put my phone on airplane mode.
Two hours later, the smell of BBQ seeped through my vents as I neared the parking lot. As I neared closer, it looked full. Crap. There were even vehicles parked in lines down the road. I came to a sudden halt when a round, curly redhead waved her short arms. My eyes lit up with a face splitting smile. It was Maggie!
"Hey, Candace! Pull in over here, darlin! Take that curve down until you reach the back of the bar."
I nod and drove through the opened gate. Once I parked, a red four wheeler roared down the road and stopped behind my truck. Maggie was holding on to a tall, thin man with a bushy grey mustache. She hopped off and immediately pulled me into a big hug. I hugged her with the same strength, as we said how much we've missed each other.
"It took long enough, hot stuff!" She perched her hands on her hips.
"I know! We don't have spring breaks, so I had to wait all the way until the summer."
"Well, I'm so glad you came. And uh," she looks back at the bar, "he still doesn't know." She winks.
I started to get excited all over again. "Oh, good! I can't wait to see him."
"I can't wait either! I've been anxious all day for this moment." She turns to the driver, "Chuck, this is Candace. My little friend I told you about."
Chuck hops off the four wheeler, grabbing my extended hand. "Nice to meet you, beautiful." He kisses my hand. "How was the drive?"
"Thank you, it was peaceful." I smile warmly.
"Sounds alright," he nods. "Well, you're just in time for some good BBQ."
"Oh, yes! Get out of those business clothes and get comfortable. Put your things behind the bar, then meet us on the patio." She kisses my cheek before heading off with Chuck up the road.
I grab my bag from the backseat and hurry into the bar. I change in the bathroom: jean shorts, converse, tank top, and a plaid button down that I left open. I graze through the thick crowd until I make it to the bar, where I place my bag in a cabinet. As I near the patio, I see him holding a beer to his lips before laughing at something. To his left was another familiar face, his friend, Charlie. Without guessing, I'm sure he was responsible for that laugh. Charlie looked in my direction with surprise as I stepped on to the patio.
"Shhh." I put my finger up and catch him nod with a smirk.
Once I was close enough with the smell of seasoned meat swooning my nostrils, I spoke. "Please tell me you haven't run out of those steak burgers yet?"
"Just laid down another round—," he turned around, "oh shit!"
I bat my eyelashes all bashful. "Hey, Joe."
He put the spatula down and hauled me into a big bear hug. I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck, breathing in the scent of smoke and body wash. A juicy kiss was planted on his cheek, as he returned one on my forehead.
"Don't tell anyone, but I've missed you." He says low against my forehead.
I giggle, finally allowing myself to let him go. "Likewise."
"Well, well. Hello again, gorgeous. Thought his ugly face scared you off." Charlie gives me a hug and peck on the cheek. "Happens to me all the time."
"Yet you still keep coming back around." Joe flicks his middle finger up.
Charlie shrugs, "the cost of not having any other friends, mate." He takes a swig of beer.
"Sounds like a bromance to me." I raise a brow at Joe.
Joe wrinkles his face, "Dreadful."
"Oh sure now that Candace's back, you don't find me desirable." He playfully sighs, "I get it. Guess I'll be on my way. All by my lonesome."
"Much appreciated," Joe nods his beer bottle as Charlie laughs and walks off.
I shake my head at the playful banter. "You too are adorable."
"Not as adorable as you are right now." He wraps an arm around my shoulder, kissing my forehead again. "This was a great surprise by the way. Now I see why Maggie was extra excited about today."
I place my hand on his wrist. "I know. I was worried she would get too excited and spill the beans by now."
He splashes marinade on the patties. "Nah, she's been keeping her cool this whole time. Straight poker face. But today I don't think she could control it any longer." He grins.
"May I?" My hand reaches for a juicy, steak patty in a tin pan.
"Wanna make sure they taste the same?"
"Absolutely!" I take a bite, instantly moaning.
"I take it they do." He laughs, looking down at my chewing mouth.
I just nod, taking another bite.
As the afternoon rolled into the evening, the guests were full of delicious BBQ and drunkenly singing karaoke. I've never laughed so hard in my life! So many deaf tone, off key singers and off beat rappers. But they were happy. Simply enjoying themselves at Joe's place. This added to my own happiness. As I casually glance back at the bar, where I last sat heartbroken and tipsy, two young women were being approached by two young guys. Their blushing was infectious, as the guys charmed them with their best game. Young love was being created right before my eyes.
"Alright, everybody! This song is going out to all of the lovers! Both single and taken!"
Everyone laughs at the small joke, as Maggie grabs the mic. “Jolene” by Dolly Parton starts playing and instantly the women were all revved up. One tipsy patron yelled out to Maggie to “SING THAT SHIT”, while others swayed their drinks in the air.
Joe’s arms draped over my shoulders, followed by a cheek kiss. “I’m going to take a wild guess and say my dear Maggie is really tipsy.”
“You know, it could be the only reason why she’d dedicate this song to all of the lovers.” I laugh.
We joined in with crowd, swaying and singing to the song. Every time Maggie sang the chorus, it sent Joe and me into hysterics. She would sing it with such passion and determination. Even though she’s been the only contestant so far who could actually sing, it didn’t stop us from laughing. The crowd gave a wild applause as Maggie ended the song and took a bow.
“Whew! That one does it to me every time!” Maggie spoke, “Is everybody having a good time?”
The crowd answers in ‘woohoos’, ‘Hell yeahs’, whistles and claps.
“I’m so glad to hear that.” She takes a napkin and wipes her face. “You know, we wanted to give you guys a special ‘Thank You’ for constantly keeping this bar afloat. To know that there’re so many people that come here from all different walks of life and leave in good spirits, it means so much to us.
“With that being said, I would like to give all of my love and appreciation right now to my young, handsome boss.” Maggie grabs a cup from someone in front of the stage. “Thanks, darlin.” She takes a sip, “Joe! Here’s to our four years and many, many more! I love you like my own son and you’ve been nothing but good to me. Cheers to Joe!”
The crowd send their drinks in the air, as they all look back at Joe with gratitude. I grab onto his arms, looking up at him with the same gratitude. He modestly put his hand up, smiling in appreciation. Then he blew a kiss at Maggie, in which she caught and placed over her heart. It was such a beautiful moment that I was honored to be apart of.
Maggie, Charlie, Chuck, and I began throwing away trash as the patrons were filing out. Joe was at the door bidding everyone a goodnight and thanking them for coming. When he was done, he joined us as we crowded the bar.
“Okay, guys. We can call it a night!” Joe claps his hands. “I appreciate y’all for cleaning up. Frank and his people will be in tomorrow morning to finish up with the floors and such.”
“Alright, mate. Get some rest. You did one helluva party!” Charlie and Joe slapped hands and hugged. “You too, gorgeous. Nice to see you again.” He kissed my cheek and hugged me as well.
A few seconds of us all bidding our farewells, we hauled out of the bar. Joe set the alarm and securely locked up. With my bag in one hand, he tossed his free arm over my shoulder.
“Ready?” He looks down at me.
“Yes sir.” I grin.
He drove us to his house in a comfortable silence, as the radio played Soft Rock. We turned down the road that led to his Bed & Breakfast. A smile crossed my lips. What a night we had there. We finally made it to his home that was behind the Inn.
“Welcome to your home away from home, Candace.” He looked over at me with a smile.
“Why, Joe. How thoughtful of you!”
He shrugs, “Well, ya know. What can I say?”
“Silly.” I shake my head on a smirk.
He unlocks the front door, letting me walk in first. It was just how I imagined: manly and tidy. It was almost too sophisticated to be a bachelor pad.
“It’s hard to believe that only a man stays here.”
Joe snorts, “I get that a lot. A man simply can’t have a clean, wholesome home?”
“It’s possible, but HIGHLY unlikely.” I retort. “It’s a beautiful home though. I’m a big fan of wooden interior, so that alone wins me over.”
“Thank you, Candace.” He wraps his arms around me from behind. “I’ve really, really missed you.” He spoke into my ear.
I closed my eyes on an inhale from those words. My head was glued to his chest and I felt his calm heart beat.
“I’ve missed you, too. Like crazy.” I began, “I thought I was being dramatic because it was only one night. But you made me feel so special and I haven’t felt that way in a long time.”
“No, you weren’t being dramatic. You made me feel the same way. It felt so natural with us that night.”
My eyes open at a thought. “Why didn’t you ask me for my number before I left?”
He sighs, “Honestly? I felt that I wouldn’t see you again. Yeah, we said that we’d see each other again but I didn’t believe it. You’re from the city. I figured there’s nothing here I have to offer you that’ll make you want to come back.”
I turned to face him. “That must’ve happened before?”
“Yep, a few times.”
“Well, as you see, I stand before you once again. I know it’s been a few months and I apologize for that. On top of not being able to take off from work like I wanted, I was still dealing with my breakups. I told myself that there wasn’t any way I would come back here with that baggage. I wanted you to see a happier me, not someone who was pitifully, broken-hearted. Not to mention, I also felt that you didn’t mean it when you said you wanted me to come back.”
“I understand wholeheartedly. You had to experience an unfortunate situation that would’ve gave anybody the blues. So don’t apologize for that.” His fingers twirl ends of my hair. “Plus, you’re a busy woman. I just figured that if it’s meant for us to see each other again, somehow, it’ll happen. But mark my words, Candace, I meant what I said. I wish now that I would’ve gotten your number. The sound of your voice would’ve given me less sleepless nights until I saw you again.”
I couldn’t resist it anymore. I planted a kiss on his lips, finally feeling restless from staring at them as the moved. Joe responded by engulfing me in his arms tighter, vigorously kissing back. My hands clasped his neck, pulling him more towards me. I dreamt of this moment since the day I left. I wanted to do this when he held me as we laid in front of the fireplace that night. My senses heightened for him, causing me to moan as we continued kissing. I pulled back to catch some air, while reigning in surprise at my actions.
“I’m so sorry!” I look up at him. “That wasn’t sup—oh!”
Joe effortlessly picked me up and pressed me against the wall. My neck was scorched in heated kisses.
“Joe,” I breathed.
After a few more kisses, he connected his forehead with mines. His chest was rising with every breath, eyes closed.
“Don’t you dare apologize.” He slowly peeled me from the wall and made sure my feet planted on the floor.
There was a moment. We just stood there facing each other not knowing what to say. The thick air was starting to settle around us. Our breathing was becoming steady. I still can’t believe I just did that. Was it the liquor from the BBQ that made me this bold? I didn’t think I drank that much. Or was it simply me making up for lost time? I don’t know where it came from, but I’m stuck between liking it and being totally horrified.
Joe cleared his throat, apparently trying to snap out of it as well. “Um, if you go down this way you’ll see my room on the left at the end. My bathroom is in there as well. So you can get settled in and shower if you want. I’ll go put on some coffee.”
“Sounds good. Um, thanks.” I nervously pick up my bag and head to his room.
After a quick hair wash and cleaning, I linger in the shower for a minute. The water felt amazing cascading down my skin. It just occurred to me that I’d been on the go since eight o’ clock this morning. I’m pretty sure it’smidnight by now. I turned the knobs off and climb out of the tub. The aroma of coffee beans filled the air. I could definitely use a cup right about now.
I let the coffee scent guide me into the kitchen. Joe was standing by the island going through his phone. He was now dressed in a white wife beater with loose burgundy pajama pants. His hair fell in damp tendrils and I could smell that body wash from earlier. He looked up from his scrolling with a grin.
“Everything good? I went ahead and used the guest bathroom for a shower as well.”
“Of course. It’d be much better once I get some of that coffee.” I grab a seat at the island.
“Coming right up.” He winked.
He poured two mugs of hot, black coffee. We added our own portions of cream and sugar.
I blew over the mug. “That was such a beautiful speech by Maggie tonight. I was almost in tears.”
Joe blushed, “Completely caught me off guard. She’s the greatest, I tell ya.” He takes a slow sip.
“She really is. If it wasn’t for her contacting my receptionist, I wouldn’t have known about the BBQ. You should’ve seen my face when I heard her voice!” I chuckle, “It was like an answered prayer. I truly couldn’t remember how to get back here. After all, I just drove last time and magically ended up at the bar.
I smile at the remembrance of our phone chat. “I missed her as well. She said she searched the internet nonstop for me until she finally came across the accounting firm.”
“I’m gonna have to give Maggie a raise for all of her hard work. She truly made my day, today.” Joe genuinely smiles. “By far the best surprise I’ve gotten.”
“Cheers to Maggie.” I lift my mug.
Joe clinks his with mines. “Here, here.”
I take a smooth sip of my coffee. “So how do you end your night after a busy day of running a bar?”
He bashfully answers and reaches his hand to me. “Come on, I’ll show you.
We approach glass doors that stood behind the kitchen table. He unlocked and slid one open, then led us onto a gigantic porch. He guided me to a reclined, patio chair. He grabbed my mug and placed it on the small night stand next to the chair. After he seated himself, he guided me down until I sat back comfortably on him.
“Look up at the sky.” Joe instructed.
I did so and was so astonished. “Oh my, look at those stars!” I gasped. “They’re so many.”
I’ve never seen the sky this beautiful in my life, ever! I could actually see the moon in all its full glory, just lightening up the several shades of black and blues in the sky. The stars were spread out like decorative ornaments. Their shimmers were undeniable.
“It’s a sight to see, isn’t it?” Joe chimed. “Sometimes I’m even left speechless. Looking up at these skies have gotten me through many tough times. All I have to do is stare up and breathe away everything that’s bothering me.”
“That’s exactly how I’m feeling right now.” I shake my head. “I’ve never seen the sky like this in the city. I’m almost jealous.”
“Don’t be, Candace. Just look at it this way: you now have a place to come and see it in this form whenever you’d like.”
I almost feel teary eyed. Joe was filling my heart up in ways I couldn’t imagine. Back home, an ideal date or romantic getaway would be an expensive thing. They weren’t ever this simple; a cup of coffee and gazing up at the stars. This was the most romantic thing I’ve ever experienced and I didn’t want it to end.
I gasp, “Is that a shooting star?!” My eyes spread wide at the white stripe zip through the sky.
Joe confirms with a cool grin. “That sure is. Hurry and make a wish.”
I wanted to shut my eyes like an excited child would to make a wish. But I was too amazed! When it was finally gone, I turned to face Joe.
“I’ve never seen a shooting star before!” I whispered, “That was so cool!”
He nods, “They appear all the time out here. I’ve been seeing them since I was a kid.” His hand glides vertically up my arm. “Did you make your wish?”
“Ugh, no. I was too excited to see it that I couldn’t close my eyes.” I pout.
“Well, you know you don’t have to close your eyes to make a wish with a shooting star.”
“Now you tell me!” I playfully slap his leg. “I take it you made your wish.”
“I surely did.”
“I want to tell you my wish.” I turn to face him, now sitting on his lap.
He sits up at attention and sets his hands on my thighs. “I’m all ears.”
I take a breath. “I thought back to when you said that you had nothing to offer a city girl. And I want to tell you how wrong you are. You’ve given me so much to appreciate and this is my second time seeing you. I’ve never had a man cook for me, actually listen to me, comfort me, and make me feel this way from simple things. Like drinking caffeine while star gazing. If this is what a country boy can offer me, then I’ll take all of it and more.”
I feel myself getting nervous, so I start to twist my fingers in my lap. Joe soon notices my nervousness and he rubs my thighs, coaxing me to take my time and relax.
“I say all of that to say I’d love to spend my summer with you, Joe.” I sigh victoriously, “That was my uh, wish.”
Joe stared at me for a moment, completely surprised at my statement. I almost regretted my declaration until my mouth was seized by his. They were so soft, kind, and sincere. When he grabbed my face, pulling back from my lips, his smile couldn’t have been more established.
