I desperately want oblivious!Buddie to play out for just a LITTLE longer so we get some “off-screen” gems. As in, absolutely bonkers events and quirks that we don’t currently know, but slowly find out before the boys figure THEM out. Such as Buddie grocery shopping together, Buck knowing Chris’ (AND Eddie’s) SSN, Chris having Buck’s phone number memorized because he didn’t have a phone when they first met and would call him on the house phone like for the Hildy prank, Chris has called Buck his dad to one of the firefam or Carla, Buck and Abuela have weekly phone calls now that she lives in Texas, Eddie is Buck’s POA (and vice versa), Eddie has a second pair of keys to Buck’s Jeep (Buck doesn’t for Eddie’s truck ONLY because Eddie is a passenger princess and if he’s not the one driving his truck then he just hands his keys off to Buck anyway), as early as late season 3 Christopher was drawing Buck into his family portraits (bonus points if it’s before the well happened), Buck has Christopher’s drawings on his loft fridge, Buck uses the family calendar on Eddie’s fridge too, Eddie specifically doesn’t buy certain foods because Buck has a food restriction that the Diazes do NOT also have (canon vegan Buck anyone?), Buck picks Christopher up from school enough to be known to both the teachers AND administration, they have a shared google calendar that Eddie hates (technophobe) but Buck updates regularly, there hasn’t been a week where Buck hasn’t stayed the night at least once at the Diazes since the lawsuit (yes, even through the divorce arc idc, let me live).

The whole “didn’t know they were dating” thing is becoming more and more appealing to me for Buddie with every passing minute, and I just think it would be funny if we got Hen or Maddie or even Christopher to call them out on little things like this that they do that they didn’t really think hard enough about to realize it was partner shit, not best friend shit. Plus, I know a lot of people want Buddie NOW because of Buck being canonically bi, but I’m still happy to wait a little longer if it means giving both characters the patience and care their stories deserve. ABC making them canon the very first season after the network switch WOULD be iconic, but given that I’ve been both ecstatic and nervous about Buddie after last Thursday’s episode, I think they should pace it. Give them both full realizations about their sexualities, a lil crisis about it for each too, maybe a different man or two before each other, the jealousy they’re BOTH now famous for, just a pinch more therapy about the shock of it all, and then somebody or something to knock their heads together and make them realize that their partner has been right there all along.

Honestly, I won’t lie and say that some of these aren’t based off of fics I’ve read, but they’re also so basic to Buddie that I couldn’t tell you specific fics, and I also definitely tried to come up with some that aren’t from fics in my memory, but claim them if you want lol, I don’t mind

some thoughts on 7x05 brought to you by my mother, who’s watch 911 since mid s2:

and i just want to say is, yes mother. especially the last two.

i have two fears:

1. eddie dying

2. chris yelling at buck “you’re not my dad”

I very much doubt that Buck and Natalia are going to be the endgame. Remember KR promoted Lucy as Buck's new great love interest and that went nowhere. Natalia could be a good character and help Buck deal with his trauma of dying. It is something he is struggling and dealing with and he can't really talk about it with Eddie, Bobby, Maddie or the rest without making them relive their own trauma that he died that for 3 minutes and 17 seconds they lived in a world without him in it. So yes Natalia is someone he can talk to without feeling guilty.

But Natalia is clearly interested in Buck's death and his relationship with death. That is what is drawing her to him.

Buck wants to move on from his death to truly live. He wants to embrace life because he isn't guaranteed another miracle. Someone who loves death and someone who embraces life isn't going to last.

Yes Natalia sees the Buck who met death and survived but she doesn't see the Buck who wants to make the most of his life. Of this new chance.

No that is Eddie. Eddie who lived in a world without Buck after having him in his life for so long.

Buck has been searching for his perfect couch, the place that he belongs. His home. But before he can realize and accept that his home is with Eddie and Christopher he needs to deal with his death.

While Eddie is coming to terms that he is finally ready to move on from Shannon that now he is ready to find someone to share his life with. To be a partner and co-parent to Christopher and come to see that he has that with Buck.

And yes that might mean dating other people to realize what they both have been seeking has been in their life all along.

Something I haven't seen discussed yet is not only did buck and Tommy kiss, but they JUST kissed. Tommy kissed him once, just communicating that "okay is this what you want us to do?" And then he set up a real romantic date where he's going to pick buck up at 8 and everything.

Buck who has a shit load of trauma from partners wanting him for nothing more than his body. From always having to be the person adding the romance into every relationship to convince people there's more to him then sex.

Baby boy just got asked on a wholesome date and got promised romantic helicopter flying lessons and he won't even have to drive and goddddvdhebusjabsjsjdnxns

I want Tommy to stick around. I want Buck to finally have a romantic partner who GETS him, who gets all the insane shit and the risks and the dangers of the job that Buck is crazy enough to love so much, because he has the same job, and he's just as crazy as Buck is about it. I want Tommy to be there through the shitstorm, through the chaos, and finally be a safe place for Buck to land in a romantic sense.

(Bear with me, I'm specifying romantic for a reason.)

I don't want bucktommy to be the "lead in" to Buddie. I don't want Tommy to be the stepping stone between them. I want Buck to have a happy, fulfilling relationship with Tommy for as long as it takes. And if/when it ends, I don't want it to have a single fucking thing to do with Eddie.

If/when Buck and Tommy split up, I want it to be amicable. I want it to be fair and decent and kind, and I want them to stay friends. I want them to still hang out. I want them to keep interacting.

Every single one of Buck's exes walked out of his life and never came back. Abby ghosted him. Ali dumped him right after he broke his leg. Taylor wrote a fucking BOOK about him/the 118. Natalia was such a non-event that we didn't even SEE their breakup.

I want Tommy to break the pattern in more than one way. I want him to stay. I want him to be the one at last to look at Evan Buckley and decide "he's not too much."

And then, later down the line, when Eddie has his awakening, I want to see Buck and Tommy BOTH supporting him through it. And when Eddie and Buck eventually realise their mutual feelings for each other, I want Tommy to be their biggest supporter.

Basically, 911 writers, I want Tommy to be more than a brief LI who vanishes into the ether once his "purpose" is finished, and I do not want buddie piggybacking off kinkley. Give them some fucking space to BREATHE. Give Buck more queer friends. Give Eddie a chance to awaken and get comfortable with himself. Otherwise buddie is going to crash and burn, and the last five seasons of groundwork will have been for nothing.

I believe in few things...

as much as i'm rooting for canon buddie and think about little else all day, what i want the most from s7 is queer eddie. i want an 'eddie begins again' episode where we get to see a young eddie already struggling with gender roles and expectations, this time from a blatantly queer angle. i want more eddie in therapy scenes. i want eddie to come out to his dad after another nuanced and cathartic conversation. i want eddie unapologetically choosing to allow himself to have the things he likes and to feel less guilt about it. i want the silly scenes too - pepa reacting to the news by simply trying to set him up with her friends' nephews, much to eddie's chagrin; eddie flirting with guys and being painfully awkward about it, but it still working for him somehow (because he's so handsome). i want eddie to have a boyfriend he smiles and blushes about and for the team to tease him about it, and for him to happily shrug it off because this kind of thing doesn't make him tense up or panic anymore. in my opinion his character is already perfectly set up for a 'coming out later in life' arc and i think if done with care it could be so beautiful. yeah give me 'eddie begins again' now please

just love that Tommy got a full week of watching Buck flail around in disaster!bi confusion while Eddie was being smooth as fuck with him, and Tommy went '...yeah I wanna fuck that disaster'
