Halloween 2020
I did a suggestion box on IG for what to draw Chris as for halloween this year and almost everyone said some variation of firefighter. Thing is I can’t convince myself that a 12 year old would want to dress up like his dads but a 7/8 year old absolutely would-especially Chris! So here’s Eddie taking a candid photo of Buck and Chris Halloween 2020(?)

I know that there are a lot of people who think there’s gonna be a “Survivors” parallel where after Buck gets hit, Christopher is going to comfort Eddie the same way he comforted Buck and I can definitely see it.
But then I started thinking back to when Chris told Buck about how he felt that everyone leaves him alone and Buck ends up telling him that he wasn’t going anywhere. And then it hit me:
What if it’s the opposite?
What if Chris finds out about Buck’s condition and he immediately thinks back to that conversation and proceeds to just freak out and damn near have a panic attack at the sheer idea of losing Buck? And let’s not forget: we also don’t know the extent of Eddie’s injuries or if he even gets injured at all. So just imagine Chris not only having to go through another scare with Eddie’s life being in danger, but also having to go through the newfound fear of his best friend being in a coma and probably not waking up, therefore breaking his promise to him?
Can the universe PLEASE just give this kid a break?!

need eddie to be the one that kisses buck because eddie deserves to be the one going after what HE wants for the first time and buck deserves to be the one that’s pined after and is loved without being injured or something. eddie’s whole life was thrown together against his will. getting shannon pregnant, getting married, going to the army, raising christopher on his own. being in a nearly loveless marriage and relationship for ages because it’s what he thought he was supposed to do but he finds out that he can love for himself and he finds that in buck but it takes him time before he can act on it cause he’s ashamed.
on the other hand bucks spent his whole life chasing people and finding someone to love him just to be left. and left. and left. so he’s finally learning to let the right person come to him first. he’s not going to chase anymore. and so here comes eddie when he’s finally ready to express his emotions. and eddie kisses him first and it’s like the final puzzle piece clicking into place for both of them.
and it’s just so fitting on bucks end too to him cause eddie is the only person that has fully and truly accepted him as he is. never tried to change him. has always told him to feel how he wants to feel and just /gotten/ him. so when eddie kisses him he’s just like: “How did I not see this before?”

So I'm pretty positive that Chris is going to be the one to bring Buck back to reality. It just makes so much sense with his arc this season. But here's how I want it to play out:
Eddie brings Chris in to see Buck (It only makes sense Eddie would be with him. There's no way he'd let Chris go in there alone). Chris holds his hand and starts to talk to him as if he's fully awake because it's easier than accepting the truth. Eddie stands near the back of the room, tearful and stifling sobs.
Chris continues to talk to Buck, telling him about his day, and then he ventures on to say "I want to tell you about tomorrow too. And the day after that...but that means you have to wake up. You have to come back, Buck. You can't leave. You can't go anywhere. You promised me you wouldn't. I don't want to miss anyone else."
Eddie can't listen. He just can't. It's way too much for him. He turns to leave and just as he reaches the door, Chris saying "come back" for the fifth time, all the monitors begin beeping rapidly as Buck struggles against his intubation tube. He desperately tries to rip it out, panicking at the painful sensation and his unfamiliar surroundings. Eddie moves Chris aside as he rushes to Buck, simultaneously not wanting Chris to see him like that and also wanting to be as close to Buck as physically possible.
The nurses arrive soon after, ushering Eddie away so that they can help him. Eddie and Chris stand in the doorway of the room and watch with tear-filled eyes as Buck's intubation tube is removed and the nurses make sure he's stable. It feels like hours despite being only a minute or so.
The moment the nurses step aside, Chris is the first to move forward. He grabs Buck's hand and squeezes it hard. He manages to pull himself onto the bed with all his strength and wrap his arms around Buck, who is still dazed and confused. Even with his eyes closed, Buck knows exactly who it is and weakly wraps one arm around Chris.
Buck's eyes flutter open after a few seconds, and eventually land on Eddie, who has slowly been inching into the room. With his free hand, Buck reaches for him with a silent plea. Eddie hesitates to talk it, but when he does, his body nearly launches itself forward and surrounds Buck and Chris into a loving embrace. Buck manages to get an arm around both of them, feeling them tremble with relief and pent up anxiety.
All at once, they take a collective sigh of relief. They're together again. They're together and they're okay. It's the most normal feeling in the world. Eddie opens his eyes and catches of glimpse of Buck resting his head on Chris', a faint smile crossing his face. His boys. He's got his boys back. No one is saying goodbye today.

The parallels between Buck and Chris falling asleep on the couch but the ocean hidden bisexual pride flag being hung right over Bucks head and not even being in Christopher’s shot even thought it’s still on the wall, just something
