first pass at designs for this evil brozone au which i’ve now taken to calling Brozone Bounty bc they end up becoming bounty hunters!
basically what if the perfect family harmony kinda functioned like a siren song and the bros managed to hit it but king peppy, seeing that the PFH was very powerful and evil, immediately banned them from performing it again and the bros all freak out about it because people were supposed to love them for that! not BAN THEM FROM DOING IT!! so they try to use it again to spite the village only to get banished from it altogether, so now they’re an evil bounty hunting boy band so WATCH OUT!

Did you know Branch was originally going to be the one Velvet and Veneer had kidnapped? That would be extremely traumatic for him in the mute au since he had just gotten to the point he felt comfortable even singing in front of other people and not running for cover whenever Bridget or Gristle comes by and suddenly MORE giants are kidnapping him and trying to use his talents specifically because he started singing again.
I like to think in that circumstance, Bridget and Gristle would postpone the wedding to support Poppy, but John Dory would somehow still crash some important even they were a part of, that Poppy would still insist on going with John to save Branch and probably be joined by more than a few guests, maybe even Bridget while Gristle stays back (someone has to watch the kingdom and while he may be bros with Branch, he also knows his first Troll friend is justifiably nervous around Bergans and probably gonna have a bad time if he sees him), and the group would not have as many jokes about Brozone still thinking Branch is a baby because A) he isn't there and B) his friends are and while they are all there for teasing their most introverted friend and learning about his past they cannot get over the fact Branch had been left alone for over 20 years with no family and suddenly they discover he had 4 older brothers who all presumably had jeut up and left
I did know about that and agree it would have gone much differently. Mr. Dinkles would have sent some critters to Mount Rageous to delay the performance for as long as possible.
Poppy would enlist the bounty hunters to help them track down the brothers. First, finding John Dory thanks to Delta's help. Him being horrified at the fact of his brother's kidnapping just as he was packing up to go see him and at the fact that he was also traumatized into losing his voice and turning gray and now this will just make it worse. Luckily he has clues that helps the group find the others.
Floyd would be performing in a small town when they find him. He immediately agrees to go with and feels guilty on what he's been informed about.
Bruce immediately jumps to save the baby of the family, which Brandy encourages and beats himself up for not thinking of going back for Branch after he found Vacay Island.
Clay can immediately tell what's going on after a few words and immediately packed a rescue bag, refusing to leave his brotherbehind again. Viva tries to keep them from leaving, but Poppy, who's already stressed with worry, shuts that down and tells her that sometimes you have to do scary things if it means protecting someone.
They make it to Mount Rageous, where the critters successfully delay the performance for another day, they find out where they live and sneak into the bedroom to find Branch. He's already lost a large amount of talent and can barely pull himself up. The brothers immediately hug the prison and express worry.
Crimp walks into the room and tries to tell Velvet and Veneer when the bounty hunters restrain her. They convince her to help them expose the two fakes of their crime. The brothers try harmonizing again, but it fails due to unresolved issues. Then Cooper asks if it really was necessary for them to be perfect?
He explains that it was something Branch always told Poppy and others trolls when they stressed out about it. He always says that perfection doesn't exist and that being yourself is enough. Velvet and Veneer walk in and immediately try to capture the trolls. The bounty hunters and critters distract them long enough for Poppy to start singing.
Everyone starts singing together and manages to break the prison, Branch landing in Floyd's arms, clearly exhausted and in bad shape but alive. Bridget bursts in the room with the authorities, Velvet tries to argue that they have no proof only for Crimp to reveal that she had livestreamed the entire thing. Veneer willingly gives himself up to the police while his sister fights the entire process.
They head back to Pop Village to get Branch checked out. Along the way, the brothers finally have a much needed talk with each other and agree that being separated for so long affected them in many ways and decided to work on their family relationship. With the help of licensed professionals.

I thought he was FANTASTIC in this movie (you gave me an excuse to draw him from it) !

I love his character and how he acts. The facials of him sassily kicking the breakfast table killed me in a watchparty I had with my friends
And yes, all three of us went “NOOOOO!” when he was engulfed by the explosions.
I will say, as much as I tried to avoid spoilers, his death was spoiled for me in my inbox once the leaks circled around last week. It wasn’t it being spoiled that made me groan - it was the fact they were typed as if the annoying orange grew fingers and wanted to be EXTRA quirky. I am embarassed for the anon because all it made me feel was the same way I feel when I stumble upon a millenial making videos with their dog where they speak in this pseudo-european accent all squeaky. If you ever wanna make me clench my toes in disgust, just send me clips of dogs with bad forced accents all chipmunked. that one audio that goes “IF MONDAYE WAS A VEGGIETABLE, IT WOULD BE A ZZUCHEYENEYE, BECAUSE ITS ZUCHS!” oughhh i will be white knuckling my phone like murderface on twitter when he shits bro
THEN, I saw people on instagram and one had Dick’s face as it was melting from Nathan’s trip. When I saw that image before the movie, I believed either A.) When MF got exorcised Salacia jumped into the closest body and because he wasn’t a demi-god, his body began to legit melt, OR B.) it tied into the fact Crozier hired Knubbler to get info on the band since S1E2. And he was revealing that he wasn’t actually as good-intentioned as the band thought.
The fact he continued to be a wholesome wine aunt and hippie stoner uncle hyrbid to the boys, AND THE FACT CROZIER HAD AN ARC (in my au I have him be like a grumpy grandpa to the boys, and a dad figure to MF so the fuel this film gave me for fan art? BOUNTIFUL) god it was truly a feast
I think I would be more sad if they decided to have the route be that Knubbler was terrified to die. If he was pounding on that shield in a panic, oh that would hurt! He looked so accepting of it, looking at the band with confidence that they’d indeed save the world, was a pretty damn awesome way to go. He went out like a true gear - he feared not his mortality.
I will say, his passing wont cause me to cease drawin’ him and William! I’ll draw him like he died but he got better so he’s ok.
have a lot of dickface stuff I want to include into my fan piece au, and he’ll still be a favorite to draw when it comes to it. Lmk if you want me to draw any knubbler angst with mf and whatnot, because I’ll probably continue with my favorite route with drawing him - the Cheese Route™️.

Kai and Lloyd probably spend a lot of time together (season 1-2) while waiting for the Ninja to return from their missions. Is Kai a good big brother to Lloyd ? Does this somehow affect Lloyd ?
I bet this front change anything about the fact that Kai will be the most worried when Lloyd is possessed by Morro. Maybe he worried even more because he doesn’t see Lloyd as his student that needs to become the green ninja, but as a kid he wants to look after.
Kai & Llody would become very close to each other.
Kai doesn't see Lloyd as some kid of student or anything, Lloyd is just a child.
A little bratty one, but still a child. He's without his parents, so it makes Kai think that Lloyd is a little lost.
It reminds him of his chidlhood with Nya, where he had to take care of everything and grow up.
It makes Kai feel compassion towards him and can't help himself but feel like he needs to do something about this.
So during season 1 Kai is often left alone with Lloyd to babysitts him.
The situation doesn't bother him and even though he'd like to do something more to help the ninjas, he decides not to waste time and use this time productively.
He spends a lot of time with Lloyd and tires to play with him and teach something.
Lloyd isn't pleased with this at first (because he's the son of fearfull Lord Garmadon and ect..)
But one time Kai caught Lloyd not being able to tie his shoes.
The young Garmadon obviously didn't want to admit that he couldn't do it and was ignoring it. He was also lightly scared that Kai would make fun of him.
Kai noticed that and decided to show him two ways to tie his shoes as an excuse, to teach him that. Lloyd would be a little confused and then Kai suggest going to bake cookies together for everyone, to which Lloyd agreeded.
After that Lloyd started actually like Kai, listen to him, enjoy the time with him and would be nicer to him.
They'd build a bound, to other ninjas confusion.
Especially Nya's at first she woudn't understand why her brother would be so nice and carring to a little brat that broke her hair straighteners as a prank.
Later Kai & Lloyd would be even closer. To the point where Kai'd treat him like a younger brother.
But there's more.. since Kai here is the Samurai X.
Lloyd & Kai: *watch as the ninjas having fun with their weapoons and powers*
Lloyd: Uh! It's so unfair!
Kai: What?
Lloyd: Why they have all the fun and we have to stay on the Bounty? It's not fair!
Kai: Yeah, world isn't fair little guy. *ruffling his hair*
Lloyd: Hey! Don't do this!
Kai: Hah, sorry little bud.
Lloyd: I just want to help.. Why can't we fight with them?
Kai thinks what to say: ....
Kai sights: Wanna hear a secret?
Lloyd excited: A secret?!

Restless was apart of an old SpaceRiders crew before they split, most going rouge after their captain Mysteriously disappeared. (*cough cough* Prototype *cough cough*)
She would most likely bump into the new crew a few times, acting as a sort of antagonist for awhile before they come to a mutual understanding of wanting to take down the Prototype. She helps them free planets while she isn’t out bounty hunting (Yes bounty hunter 😅). And possibly (?) Joins them for a while after having a good amount of adventures with them

I am begging for more explanation about the Rex-gets-his-balls-cut-off AU
oh MAN its a few years old and very heavy themes but the summary of that part is that in this au post 66 Rex fallen way off da wagon and goes from shitty job to shittier job until he's getting traded around doing slave labor and one of the slavers he ends up with castrates their workers and then he got p feeble and weaker until he was basically a rat in a box and- oh yeah this is an au where Fives doesn't DIE because we all have one of those,
so instead of being shot Fives is instead chased off world by some Corrie guards and his ship is shot down on a very remote planet/the reports labeled him then as deceased and Rex took that shit at face value (stupid) but it leaves a Fives stranded at the end of the war with that crucial information for the Republic that by the time he gets off world unfortunately is too late, we fast forward several years into Empire era where this AU begins, where Fives has made a (crappy) living off of bounty hunting and has a small task to put some feral critter out of it's misery and that feces covered mal fed creacher is REX and Fives actually hates him a lot at this point because he'd been mentally imagining Rex all these years as the visual epicenter of his blame for why all this Empire shit happened since he feels like he never listened to him back on Coruscant years ago.

but u know now that he has the easiest opportunity to kill him it's literally so fucking pathetic looking that he can't so he like takes Rex on his ship to start fixing him up and taking care of him but it's more like when ur neighbor forces some old dying sick dog on u and u don't even like dogs but u had no choice so u just glare at the thing every day as it lays in ur house pooping on ur carpet and throwing up it's dinner every night.
I only ever got crappy little doodles made of some sequences it's just a fun AU to poke around in but here's some when he initially brought Rex onboard and bro was just head to toe caked in dirt and scabs
ITS A REALLY metaphorical punching bag diary page like AU but it slowly deals with two WAY mentally fucked up people, who are approaching their issues at opposite ends of the stick, where Fives feels like he's been cheated out of a revenge kill, and Rex feels so pathetic and indebted to Fives that he's asking to be killed by Fives about every 35 minutes on his ship.
so yea doodles like these were made when he was like half a year into recovery, trying to gain some weight back, medically taking hormones to make up for his MISSING BALLS and just regrow some hairs, attempted recovery to atrophied muscles, and other bummer things like keeping radios on all the time so he can hear and keep track of surviving clones in the Empire for no significant advantage other then to know which ones are still alive and junk. IT DOES GET BETTER they do work to become close again but not without a lot of bumpy roads cause neither of them are healthy

I'll be honest I don't completely follow your bounty au but I know the basics, and I had the thought after your recent Brozone's Back picture about how Clay puts on that happy facade while performing when otherwise he's all angry and stuff. And I thought about Viva being the one to be able to get him to give a REAL smile for the first time in years, without his even realizing that it's happening right away, and that just completely shaking Clay because he didn't think anything could actually make him HAPPY anymore, this can't be real, SHE can't be real
YEAH!! a lot of the reason clay doesnt emote at all offstage is because he finds his stage persona very physically draining to put on, but he chooses to do it because the fans eat it up and he thinks the tradeoff is worth it (every bro has something like that going on really, spruce doesnt view love as valuable anymore and is just a game to be won, floyd doesnt have any motivation to care anymore, etc etc)
so like. he doesnt smile offstage because smiling and laughing is too much of a hassle. but when VIVA makes him smile? its effortless. its already on his face before he even REALIZES. he taps at it in disbelief- this emotion is supposed to be a performance, it tires him out, but this smile is so NATURAL, in fact it fills him with ENERGY, WHAT IS THIS??
and viva just snorts and goes "i told you my jokes were pretty good" and clay just cant stop looking at her and smiling. he likes the way this smile feels
