ROTTMNT Character Fight Style Analysis - Part 3: Michelangelo
Tumblr media
This is a continuation of my first post about analyzing each of the Turtles' (+April's) fighting style, their strengths and weaknesses in a fight, and how Rise uses that to highlight different aspects of their character. I highly encourage you read that first before hopping into this one for full context. There is a bit of a TL;DR at the end.
[Part 1: Leo] [Part 2: Raph] [...] [Part 4: Donnie] [Part 5: April]
Next up is Dr. Delicate Touch himself:
Michelangelo: The Wild Card/Disabler
Fight Style:
Dexterous and Versatile
Mikey is a very fast and acrobatic fighter, allowing him to move around and attack in ways his brothers are unable to. His small frame means that he is naturally inclined to be faster than his bigger brothers, and when paired with his gymnastic skills, he becomes an exceptionally swift and nimble fighter. He excels when fighting offensively – in fact, he’s the most offensive fighter on the team - and while he can handle himself on the defensive, it isn’t his strong suit. Mikey’s primary form of defense is to dodge the enemy as he can maneuver himself around foes in a way that makes him hard to keep track of, and even harder to hit.
Tumblr media
Mikey also has the greatest versatility of the whole team. Like his brothers, he excels with non-traditional weapons, but Mikey seems to be particularly talented in this regard. Mikey also has a wide range of mystical abilities that he uses to extend the reach of his weapons by manipulating the chains of his nunchakus or kusari-fundo, improving his maneuverability, or even throwing comically large objects. This versatility in combination with his dexterity gives him the ability to attack enemies both nearby and at a distance with relative ease, while slightly improving his defensive skills.
Tumblr media
Strengths and Roles in a Fight:
The Wild Card:
Mikey is the resident wild card as his fighting style wide range of abilities and make him the most flexible fighter on the team (both literally and figuratively) and seem very chaotic in a fight. His job is to be the unpredictable element in battle – he rounds out the team by being able to the changing needs of a fight. This is most effective when Mikey is on the offensive as he is less restricted in his fighting method than his brothers are - if a certain type of attack is needed, odds are Mikey can deliver. He can deliver quick, successive hits with his wild movements and fast reflexes, or he can utilize his wide variety of mystic abilities to blindside the enemy with an unexpectedly powerful attack. He can also help in disorienting an enemy or catching them off guard with his acrobatics and impressive strength despite his unassuming size.
Tumblr media
Disabler:
When Mikey doesn’t need to fight offensively, he ends up primarily using his abilities to disable his enemies instead focusing as heavily on his attacks. He uses his surroundings to lead enemies into traps or he can manipulate the chains of his weapon(s) to wrap up a foe and inhibit their movement, creating the opportunity to perform a follow-up attack. Even when he throws things like a goddamn building at the enemy, this is usually only used to either crush or stall the enemy as opposed to straight-up defeating them.
Tumblr media
Utility:
Due to his smaller size and the nature of his fighting style, Mikey tends to struggle when fighting by himself. He is a much stronger offensive fighter than a defensive fighter, which makes sense when looking at his weapon and physical attributes, but that also means he is at greater risk of losing should he have to fight defensively. While is by no means incapable of fighting alone (we see as much in 'Hot Soup: The Game'), it is noticeably more difficult for him and doesn't work with his strengths as a character.
Mikey's fighting is at his best when he has other people to work off of. His role as the wild card means he is able to assist any of his allies in battle by adapting to their respective fighting style and helping them in a fight without interfering with their attacks. This makes him a particularly good choice as a 'tag team' partner as Mikey can build on others' attacks while they can help him defensively if need be.
Tumblr media
How it Plays into His Character:
Since Mikey's greatest weakness in battle (his inexperience) isn't necessarily a character flaw, but simply a product of his young age, his fight style does more to emphasize his personality. We see how Rise directly ties Mikey's fighting style to his character traits, ensuring that his fights still have the same depth as his brothers'.
The wild card role suits Mikey’s character as it complements his energetic and creative personality. Even outside of battle, Mikey moves in a very lively manner, quickly jumping around and rushing from place to place, which would naturally translate into how he fights. It also means that Mikey isn’t tied down to one particular method of attack which wouldn’t mesh well with his ADHD tendencies. His creativity also comes into play as his role as the wild card relies on him being clever and resourceful in battle. If he had a more rigid mindset, this would be difficult for him, but as someone who sees the world in an artistic light, Mikey is more inclined to be a bit more inventive in his attacks.
Tumblr media
If Raph is the most protective of his brothers, Mikey is the most supportive. Even though Mikey is the youngest brother, he doesn’t feel overshadowed by his older brothers, nor does he crave the spotlight the way Leo or Donnie does. He wants to prove himself, but he is more than happy to do so by supporting his family, rather than outshining them. The Disabler role fits this part of Mikey perfectly. By disabling the enemy, he supports his brothers by stopping his foe from hurting others or by helping his allies by giving them a better opportunity to strike. Mikey still demonstrates that he is a capable, strong fighter, while still allowing his brothers to take a more prominent role in the fight.
Tumblr media
In a Team Battle:
In a coordinated team attack, Mikey is actually capable of filling any position in the order of attack. His versatility gives him the ability to change his fighting method to fit whichever position he needs to, making his placement in the attacking order entirely situational.
When fighting in a strategic attack with the full team, Mikey is most effective going second, third, or second-to-last (depends on how many people are fighting) rather than first or last. Due to his fast movement and weapon’s versatility, Mikey can follow up on almost any type of attack, making him the best choice to go after more wild attacks that would normally throw off other characters. His role as a disabler also makes him a prime choice to set up a powerful final attack by halting the movement of an enemy and making them vulnerable to a finishing blow.
Tumblr media
Mikey is able to go first or last in an attack when needed as he is more than capable of going into a fight quickly and delivering a strong attack by pummeling or crushing the enemy. However, considering that Mikey works best when playing off of his teammates, these are probably Mikey’s weakest positions in a team fight. He is also limited to really only one type of finishing blow (throwing large objects at people), which goes against his role as the wild card.
I had a really fun time analyzing Mikey's fighting style and roles. While identifying how he fought was pretty simple, understanding just how versatile our boy is was super interesting. I definitely didn't realize until going through this just how varied Mikey is during a fight, and it totally fits his personality. No wonder he's so fun to watch during an action scene.
Tumblr media
~-~-~
[TL;DR: Mikey is a very speedy, dexterous, and versatile fighter. Due to his adaptability and wide range of mystic abilities has the greatest variety of attack methods out of all his brothers, making him the perfect Wild Card. His wild movements and fast (yet powerful) fighting style align well with his energetic personality, while his role as the Disabler fits in with his desire to support his brothers as opposed to outshining them.]
I really appreciate all the support I've been getting with these. It has been a blast making them and I am so glad people are enjoying reading them. Donnie is up next, but I'll have to push it off two days instead of tomorrow because of a test.

Percy has always unfairly villain-ized Nico.
Upon learning he was a son of Hades, he assumed Nico was vengeful and corrupt. In "The Battle of the Labyrinth" he assumed that Nico was out to kill him, when in fact he was going after Daedalus, who admitted himself that it was his time to go. Not to mention, Nico's bloodlust was because of Minos’ corruption, which never would have occurred in the first place had Percy stopped Nico from leaving, which should have been the obvious course of action.
You don’t let a 10-11 year old, a powerful 10-11 year old who would attract massive amounts of monsters and has just sustained serious amounts of pain, go off by themself for quite obvious reasons. Percy obviously doesn't get the memo because he lets Nico slink away twice, in the end of both "The Titan's Curse" and "The Battle of the Labyrinth." The second time he even reinforced Nico’s belief that he didn’t belong among other demigods. For lack of better words, that’s messed up.
Nico will then go on to do some arguably shady things, but never with malicious intentions (i.e. letting Hades trap Percy and not telling Percy who he is in "The Son of Neptune") and always redeems himself from such actions. Percy however, uses these decisions to discredit all of Nico's suffering.
For the entirety of the "Heroes of Olympus" series, he basically views Nico as a morally grey wild card. He even expresses contempt and aggression towards him, only reigning such emotions in out of pity for his condition after being captured by the twin giants. He often reflects upon Nico's actions in a way that leaves out context, painting him in a villainous light. I don't think he once acknowledges his broken promise to Nico regarding Bianca in the "Heroes of Olympus" series, nor does he ever acknowledge how hurtful it was to Nico when Bianca appeared to him and not her brother. Additionally, whenever remembering how Nico got him trapped, he never seems to recall that Nico didn’t intend to do so and that he couldn't have escaped without Nico. Furthermore, Nico had made his father promise not to hurt Percy, but Percy responded to the trickery with violence against Nico, not the actual guilty party (Hades).
Also, did I mention that Nico is 4 years younger than Percy? In the Titan's Curse, Percy is 14 and Nico is 10. That's a large maturity difference in the tween/teen years and will continue to be throught the series. This means that all of the things Percy holds against Nico were done by a desperate, child from the age of 10 to 12, who had no support system, no real home, and large amounts of inner turmoil and canonical PTSD.
I know I keep reiterating the whole Nico selling out Percy situation but I just think Percy’s reaction was incredibly awful. He made a point to never hurt demigods on Luke’s side, but when Nico “betrayed” him (not really) he immediately wanted to strangle/behead him. Despite the fact that Nico clearly wanted to help Percy and only wanted to detain him temporarily in exchange for deeply meaningful personal information, Percy doesn’t give him a chance for a single second.
Even when it’s made clear that Hades is emotionally abusive to him, he still later feels no remorse for choking this emotionally vulnerable 12 year old. And while it was still the right decision for Nico to negotiate his father joining the war effort, Percy mainly told him to do so to keep him at arm’s length, even though he was sending him into a place where he was clearly unwelcome and would likely be severely punished.
When most Olympian parents talk about how they regret burdening their children with their heritage, it usually doesn't mean much. Yes, they have to fight monsters but in exchange they become powerful. When the Greek deity Hades says this, however, it makes complete sense. The only 3 children he ever has end up experiencing horrific things, having to sacrifice themselves time and time again (or just the once, RIP Bianca di Angelo). On top of this, even the most congenial demigods become biased towards them whether they deserve it or not.
It's sad that there's a hierarchy within the camps and that its determined by parentage rather than character, at least until the demigods in question prove otherwise.

I think what's super interesting about this Adventuring Party is I totally agree with Aabria about the First Stoats, but at the same time I also understand the path of thinking that our Stupendous Stoats took which lead to what happened
I also think it's an interesting insight into how we, as humans, attempt to interpret the behaviour of animals, and how we both animalise ourselves and humanise them- idk, as an actor myself, I just find the thought processes behind portraying such things so fascinating
(This is a bit of a ramble, and likely not gonna be super coherent but whatever, im not trying to write an analysis piece LMAO)
I think it's so interesting to think about- because to the stoats, humans are cold, brutal, mechanical monsters who destroy everything in their path. So logically, it feels strange and insidious when you have the First Stoats attempt to imitate these monsters
But then, when finding out that humans are not the monsters they think they are, does that mean being closer to human wasn't a bad thing? Wasn't as monstrous as it seemed? Which means, then- were the First Stoats not as monstrous either?
So like- them putting together all the evidence we saw towards the First Stoats being antagonists? yea it makes sense for them to assume these guys could be bad!! they have creepy imagery, scary, intimidating presences
Did they also come in and act as if they knew best, and that their way was the only way, without fully knowing the nuance and context of the things they're taking action against? yup, absolutely!
I don't blame the players, and I don't blame Aabria- I think it's such a fascinating topic that I would happily listen to them discuss for hours and hours
I also enjoy that the intelligence the Stoats gained is explained by the radiation bc at the end of the day, the players will never be able to replicate exactly how a stoat will react to these situations- they do not have the tools to be able to understand how a wild animal's logic and brain works. the stoats are humanised whether they like it or not babey!!!
Anyways i dont think any of this made any real sense or had any substance, just some 3am ramblings
(there's also some interesting parallels to colonialism and culture, but i don't quite want to get into that bc I don't know how much that theme is intended to be interpreted in this family fun stoat story, and also its LATE)

Okay as promised - now we get to talk about Calanmai and the very bizarre issue that SJM has with consent.
So as my mutual pointed out, the "closest" Tamlin gets to the boundary pushing YA bad boy sexy scene in ACOTAR takes place during the Spring Equinox where he propostions and bites Feyre. This scene made a lot of people justifiably upset - I wasn't a huge fan either when I first read it - but believe it or not! This scene actually becomes so much worse when you put it in the context of ACOTAR as a whole!
So here is the context for Calanmai as a whole: It is the celebration of the Spring Equinox, where Tamlin, as part of his official duty as the High Lord of Spring, officially ends winter and imbues the land with magic that ensures that crops will grow - a ritual change of the seasons and literal demonstration of his authority and power as a High Lord. There's bonfires, faerie orgies - actually it sounds kinda like a great party and everyone is looking forward to it, but Tamlin hasn't mentioned anything to Feyre up until this point.
Lucien then explains that this isn't just like a fun sexy faerie party. As part of the Spring Court's celebration, faeries from the other Courts are invited into Spring to participate in the revelries. They don't have a lot of direct control over who crosses their borders given that Amarantha is currently in charge and her minions and spies are stated to be numerous and everywhere. Furthermore, Tamlin isn't just leading the celebration - he is going to invite some supernatural force of pure magic to possess his body in order to complete some magic coupling ritual, and when this magic enters him, he completely loses all sense of self until he won't even remember his own name.
Or in other words: Tamlin takes a magic roofie and is forced to have sex with a random ass stranger in front of many many other random ass strangers.
This is.... not good. To put it super super mildly. A lot of this is framed to make Tamlin seem sexually aggressive but it is, in fact, the only time he's actually sexually aggressive in any context. He and Feyre only sleep together once, after he confesses that he's fallen in love with her and she is the one who then invites him to bed, and initiates sex with him.
So the fact that Tamlin needs to take a roofie and have dubiously consensual sex (and again I am being super charitable in my analysis because I have seen many people outright condemn this as Tamlin being raped) to make this ritual is one thing.
The other thing is that Lucien confirms to Feyre that Tamlin is legitimately attracted to her, so the magic might "choose" her as his Maiden for the ritual despite her still being human. And because of the celebration's wildness and the ritual's dubious nature, neither of them want for that to happen. So Lucien and Tamlin both ask her to stay in her room, lock the doors, set up snares and traps and whatever she does, but don't answer the door if anything knocks and don't come out until morning.
So this already sketch ass ritual has now been clarified with a boundary.
Feyre leaves her room twice. The first time, we get Rhysands introduction. I'll get to this and the massive gaslighting that happens later but in any case - Lucien manages to find her and brings her back to the house and begs her to please, please stay in her room like they asked her to.
The second time she leaves the room, it's Tamlin she encounters, queue biting scene. Feyre smacks him across the face and basically tells him to fuck off, because she's a whole person with agency and he doesn't get to touch her without permission, ever.
And.... Tamlin does this. Granted, he lightly rags on her for not doing what he asked - and like, hello, Feyre? How hard was it to get earplugs and knock out for the evening rather than putting yourself through this ordeal which literally everyone warned you about ahead of time - but most importantly he also respects a boundary and does not sexually approach her again until she initiates at the end of the story.
One of my main issues with Rhysand as a character is that he continually, repeatedly, habitually disrespects and ignores boundaries if he believes that they aren't reasonable or don't suit him. We see this happen many times with his "illusion of choice" - we see this happen when he manipulates Tarquin to steal the Summer Court's treasure even though Feyre points out that Tarquin is the leader of a friendly Court and might just give them the Book of Breathing if they explain what it's for - we see this happen when he allows his homophobic abusive uncle access to his Saintly City despite his cousin begging him not to do this because she doesn't feel safe - etc etc etc.
The difference between Calanmai and the later scenes with Rhysand is consent. In the Calanmai scene with Tamlin, Feyre has character agency and strength. Has she made objectively stupid choices? Yes! But she's also allowed to do this in the narrative, and she's allowed to tell her love interest that he doesn't get to decide what's good for her because she'll handle herself. He doesn't get to put his hands on her until she asks him to.
Furthermore, Calanmai serves as Rhysands character intro and... Let me just find my ACOTAR copy real quick. Page 189 is where the chapter starts. Feyre says that Rhysand is the most physically beautiful person she's ever seen - but at this point, she finds all High Fae attractive and beautiful. Here, on 190: "Had I just traded three monsters for something far worse?"
She holds her ground, saying that "I was terrified of him, but I wasn't about to let him know," and lies about being at the bonfire with friends who will look for her if she's missing, frantically looks for ways to escape while Rhysand purrs and prowls and blocks off the path so she can't immediately run. She says at the bottom of Page 190, "I had never seen anyone so handsome - and never had so many warning bells pealed in my head because of it."
Rhysand, in Mist and Fury, tells Feyre that she wasn't ACTUALLY scared of him, which I'd be like, okay, fair enough for him to think that based on their introduction - except on page 191, Feyre says, "When I stopped shaking, I looked around at the gathered faeries."
Girl was so terrified of Rhysand that she started having a physical reaction to his presence. Rhysand later violates her sexual boundaries ("I braced myself to be drugged and disgraced again.") and has the unmitigated nerve to gaslight her in Mist and Fury by saying that he could tell she was attracted to him from the start, that she'd secretly enjoyed and appreciated her own sexual assault.
I literally do not have the words basically for how disgusting this. Like - SJM seems to realize that she wrote some legitimately Bad Shit with Calanmai. Like in ACOWAR it's revealed that Lucien volunteered to take Tamlin's place in the ritual - because he was upset over Feyre being kidnapped and didn't want to take a roofie and have sex with a random stranger - and "Some line was crossed," but even then, she seems to believe that a line was crossed because Evil Femme Fatale Ianthe got involved and not any inherent issue with the ritual itself. She also implied in Book One that all High Lord's preform a version of the same ritual Tamlin does - and then made one of those Lords an openly gay man. But instead of dealing with that story line - Tamlin doesn't seem to enjoy Calanmai, and its kind of obvious as to why - SJM just decided to reframe her narrative as "Uh Tamlin Bad and Aggressive, Rhysand Good because Choices" when the actual text of her story proves the opposite of this at every turn. Feyre has to loose sexual agency in her relationship with Rhysand in order to make it work - because she was established as a character who was in control of her sex life and Rhysand took that away from her. Rather than deal with that trauma, we make it so that Rhysand was her soul mate all along and Feyre actually liked being dressed up and made to do public lap dances under the influence tee hee how naughty amiright ladies?????
Anyhow fuck Mist and Fury especially.

can we see the agott/oru parallels pinboard material? your insight on characters is always so spot-on and entertaining to read! (if you haven't already posted about them ofc)
I have to admit it's so much vibes and headcanons that I can't really point at anything concrete (especially since Olruggio's past is kind of a mystery) BUT... there's something about their dynamic (which is notably abrasive compared to other relationships in the atelier - and it doesn't feel like it's been truly resolved in the same way Qifrey-Riché and Coco-Agathe has been) that I've got some nebulously-connected dots on so I'll try and lay that out.
So... we know a tiny bit about Olruggio's life outside of/before the atelier - mostly that he's from a snowy town in the north and that he's got a pretty long-standing reputation as a prodigy (presumably from even back in the north given Utowin specifically needles him about it) and a witch of the people (known by sight even by the region's monarchs?? fucking hell Oru). He is... literally actually famous. Which is absolutely wild to think about but there we go.
Agathe, conversely, is more... infamous. Bless her she's been through it - getting kicked out of her family for not being talented enough, rumours that it was due to plagiarism flying around (which it wasn't, I believe her on that one). She's known for her name rather than her magic - and she's desperately trying to change that.
But, and here's where the projection/headcanons come in, I always got caught on Olruggio's way of handling Agathe and her desire to be praised by others... It's particularly harsh at the river and she responds with stubborn anger, and he dismisses her in a similar way before her revelations re: her magic at the Silver Night Festival. He picks up that her magic is self-centred and accuses her of trying to show off rather than thinking of others - which in both contexts makes sense, since they're meant to be helping people immediately and long-term with their magic there - but... he never seems to reflect on her background in the same way that Qifrey seems to and speaks to her with the vibe of "you should be smart enough to internalise this without me repeating myself", rather than with empathy for her motivation.
(As an aside, his body language in this scene is so dismissive it makes me laugh in a sort of 'bro she is thirteen at least pretend like you're not fed up with her' way.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which strikes me as rather odd for Olruggio. Yes, Agathe does act like she's just being a stubborn little prodigy-brat - but we know, and so should both her professors, that she's trying to reach someone with that show-off attitude. Qifrey knows!! It doesn't excuse the hurtful ways she externalise it, but it's still important to consider. Given that she's essentially trying to prove her family wrong, a family that kicked her out as an even younger child than she is now, it seems honestly cruel of Olruggio with how snappy he gets - like he has almost no patience for this flaw of hers (which is also hurting her). We've seen him click with the other girls at various times, or its implied by how at ease they are around him, and it's not like he's unable to be kind to Agathe either - it's this particular thing that's a sticking point for him.
And so...... I propose based entirely off headcanon that he sees his past self's behaviour in that "selfish", show-off magic. Maybe it's even what lead to Whatever That Dream Was About - being too busy showing off for attention, praise, Prodigy Points, could he have been delayed in getting to people who sorely needed his magic and the worst happened? To me it seems implied that whatever occurred there is something he very deeply blames himself for and the only explanation text we get from it is basically linked to his current work ethic and saviour-complex... so it likely marked a turning point in his character, rather than simply a deepening of an existing sense of purpose. Utowin's jab at his moniker makes me believe that even more - like Olruggio might genuinely have seen "less talented" witches as beneath him at some point.
Then from that, wouldn't it make sense for an external behaviour he associates with people dying (and if I had to guess, also some embarrassment for how he used to be) to illicit such a snappy, harsh response from him? One that's not considerate for Agathe's context because the context doesn't matter really, because that's not gonna affect the outcome of that behaviour.
But... yeah that's the main thing!! It's interesting that we're also seeing Arkco and Orufrey parallels now too - with Agathe firmly in Olruggio's spot in the dynamic (and not just because of the dark hair thing lol). This is very much based on extrapolation from the little we have about him though soooo pinch of salt!! I find their dynamic super interesting though since there's this obvious friction that marks a lot of their one-on-one interactions, but she still seeks praise... gee I wonder if Agathe has a complex that leads her to seek praise from people who are unduly harsh with her-- and it's a kind of ugly side to Olruggio's character we don't see much so it's like... kinda wild, aNYway sorry for the essay
EDIT: Okay since Sean is a genius who remembers things, he pointed out Olruggio is actually the one who takes Agathe to the river - which really delights Agathe!
Tumblr media
But then... he says this in response to Qifrey’s worry
Tumblr media
Hm... now we know he’s not talking about drawing in front of Unknowings because 1) he doesn’t let her do that and 2) she’s meant to pass the second test before she does that regardless. So... it’s possible he’s literally talking about a witch using their magic for the sake of others, and proposing a practical lesson. Qifrey is pretty aware that she’s rushing ahead and isn’t lingering on the satisfaction of Olruggio bringing her along which is why he’s bothered. Olruggio seems to be testing her here - and notably without Qifrey around, who she’s already rebuffed the teaching of in this instance by literally slapping his hand away.
It’s not until she’s incredulous about what he asks her to do that he gets harsh with her - here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s doubling down Qifrey’s lesson but without Qifrey’s kindness, so they both clearly see the same flaw in her. But Olruggio has taken her to a scene where people are injured and in danger of drowning and she’s STILL thinking of getting to show of, and he’s angry. That she didn’t get the picture when it’s right in front of her. Man. She’s just like him forreal.

I love it when you tag Lewis as king Arthur 😘
<3<3 what's wild is that I had that idea in my head before I'd even gotten into f1blr bc of my F1 obsessed family members - they've been die hard Lewis fans literally since I can remember and they still talk about him as like a young phenom and changing the culture of F1 for the better. so the 'king' part was always there (esp when he did the Wakanda Forever thing) and then in my head it developed that he's ushered in a Camelot era to the sport (or trying to) and was like oh man this is gonna be my Lewis tag.
I mostly get all my knowledge from my history nerd friend or movies and wikipedia so obv this isn't extremely literal but:
I've got Lando tagged as 'heir apparent' sometimes bc Lewis adores him so much and I think sees a lot of himself. it cracks me up when ppl try to stir up drama about them when both of them will remember how much the press and fans loved taking Lewis' unfiltered early comments out of context for drama. BUT he is absolutely not Mordred from the later stories, he'd be the extremely early version who was a brave but complicated nephew of Arthur's and also Gawain/George's cousin (that fits so perfect). I don't want to use the name for his tag tho bc most of the associations are bad. so I use heir apparent as Lando becoming more like a reincarnation of King Arthur himself when Lewis leaves the future of Camelot to him.
I also love that there's literally a Lord Percival in Charles and I especially love that he's the character who was originally said to have found the sangreal for King Arthur after enduring many trials - which drives me absolutely insane since Ferrari means he always dresses in symbolic holy/royal blood red. even il Predestinato like ?? it all fits
I know they don't interact much at all yet but Oscar was already tagged by me as 'Galahad' for his bravery, chivalry and love for being a knight above all else - and the lore was changed to have him be the one to discover the grail which I could also easily see.
I've got a real thing for possibly naming Fernando as Lancelot bc he charms the royal court and I could also see him bedding someone he shouldn't and causing absolute chaos asjgfljas (that's coming up next!!) also him being Oscar/Galahad's father makes SO much sense narrative wise. the son has so much of the father's power but without the flaws/complexities.
I've got a wild idea that Nico is Guinevere and Fernando seduced him away from Lewis and that nearly caused the downfall of Camelot. Nico took himself to a convent/Sky Sports for redemption and healing asflgjasgfsla. I even love that I can pretend Lewis tried to summon Fernando back to Camelot after the whole affair but Fernando refused.
George's role keeps escaping me bc he's beautiful enough to be Lancelot but none of the rest of the narrative works as well as it does for Fernando. Gawain seems the most likely since he is Arthur's nephew and a powerful knight who also has a close friendship with Fernando/Lancelot and is cousin to Lando/Arthur's heir (2019 rookies brotherhood).
that's all I have so far!!

2, 7, 10, and 11 for Maeveryl?
@mystery-salad
Get to Know Your Character
2. How do they treat themselves when they're feeling sad?
First, they allow themselves to feel the sadness (no bottling up allowed), then try to make up for it. If Adamas or friends are not available to spend time with them, they'll dive deep into books, maybe after a good training session to let out the tension.
-
7. What emotions or situations do they try to avoid? Why?
(Bottled up) anger and situations that may cause it. Maybe weird for a berserker, but they have valid reasons.
[More bits of context and lots of rambling under read more at the bottom]
-
10. What are their emotional triggers?
Being harshly reminded of people they lost or being put in situations where they could lose people they care about, as it triggers more negative emotions than they might be ready to deal with at once. They can still manage to function for a long time and deal with it just fine, but it still affects them greatly and leads to them needing more time to recover.
Going berserk can also act as a trigger and leave them emotionally raw, as channeling rage can also carry other negative feelings and painful memories, especially if they do it too often or for too long.
They also do not like to have Balthazar's action be brought up in their presence. While they don't really have a connection to him (they did feel a bit of magical resonance around him or where he had used his powers, which became relevant in S3 and PoF) and they can rationalize the fact that Aurene absorbed Balthazar's magic, they still feel somewhat ashamed that they're the way they are because of something Balthazar once created. The negative experiences with a few people who brought it up in a more or less accusatory manner kind of sealed the instant-negativity of the topic.
-
11. How do they feel about love?
In their opinion, it's the essence of life, in all its forms. If you don't love and care about others and the beauty of this world, what are you even doing with your life?
While they never really look for love, they love without shame and are very sappy about it all, as it's what keeps them grounded. No one really has the heart to complain though, no matter how annoying it might be for them, given how genuine they are about it.
-
MORE CONTEXT FOR 7. [Oh boy this got rambly, but the cinnamon roll shroom deserves it.]
After undergoing the transformation granted by the Idol of Balthazar (during The Ghost Rite), Maeveryl actually did suffer from side effects tied to it. They didn't turn into, as Gixx had put it, "a ravaging, blood-crazed psychopath", but they became quite moody and started getting carried away during battle, which was weird for someone who used to be cheerfully calm, warm sunshine personified and not particularly interested in combat regardless of their talent for it.
Initially they thought it was just emotional dysregulation tied to mourning Sieran's death and the whole stress of helping with the creation of the Pact, but they felt a lot and felt it strongly, both in positive and especially in negative, and it seemed to increase the more time passed (and the more they dipped into that mental state). After they mentioned how they felt during the Battle of Fort Trinity (which was a wild emotional rollercoaster for them), some of their fellow scholars brought up the possibility of the idol's influence and the similarities with berserkers' abilities. It made sense, Maeveryl figured it wasn't that big of a deal since it had its valid uses in combat, so they kept allowing it to happen... until they nearly died due to the recklessness that came with it. It was their first sobering experience, and the now-mostly-faded scar on their face (left by the "secondhand" magical fire of the searing cauldron) serves as a perpetual reminder of the risks they had ignored up to that point.
For the rest of the Orr campaign, Maeveryl tried their hardest to avoid anything that could make them angry or particularly sad, which quickly proved to be nearly impossible given the Pact was fast approaching Arah. So they bottled it all up! After a fast recovery, they pushed to go with Trahearne and the others to the Source of Arah, and their new method backfired quite fast, as Adamas had to risk getting in their way to get them to snap out of it. Unable to join the final battle due to their recent wounds and sore in all the ways, they waited in the backline camps, trying to quickly get ready to face their emotions and keep themselves in check no matter what happened. While they didn't lose anyone they truly cared about, such a potent fear of loss and ending up as emotional support for others was another sobering experience, if not even "educational", for lack of a better term.
After Zhaitan's defeat, believing that those powers could still be useful if used correctly, they focused on studying their own situation and reaching a good level of control, all with support and help from Adamas and their friends to keep them in check and grounded whenever things got too stressful. It was something they were already fairly good at, but fast forward a few months, they had learned the proper ways to manage and channel any sort of emotion without letting it get to them, allowing them to enter berserk mode at will and develop their powers. It was far from perfect, but letting themselves go berserk during combat became sort of therapeutic to Maeveryl, as they could finally have an outlet to let out all of the negativity in a "productively destructive" manner. Still, they learned the hard way that it had to be done in relative moderation (or at least properly counterbalanced with rest and positive things) to avoid succumbing to it, so they still tried to avoid any personal emotionally intense situation they could (and specifically one particularly sore spot).
In the years that followed, Maeveryl didn't lose themselves no matter what happened, be it loss of dear friends or catastrophic events, and it all ended up being quite instrumental during HoT (where they resisted Mordremoth's call better than most, meekly accepted the abuse all sylvari suffered, and had the calm nerves to call themselves off the mission when they felt at their limit) and later in IBS. Other than that, their overall demeanor became even calmer than it used to be, they learned to be a great mediator, and they ended up becoming even more fiercely supportive of their loved ones (especially Adamas, of course).
Only one other time they lost themselves in the rage, years later in Bjora's Marches, but it was to save Adamas in an impossible situation, and they snapped back as soon as the threat was eliminated. It hurt enough that they didn't tap into it for months, though not for the reasons most could imagine. When it happened again for another similarly good reason, they thought they'd lose themselves again, but they kept full control for the very first time.

The Afterparty: Isabel
Tumblr media
This has to be the creepiest episode so far. We’ve finally gotten to learn more about Isabel and that woman has been through a LOT 😭 I can’t say more without spoiling it so I’ll post more under the read more tag.
I just realized I didn’t post last week’s clue because I was so eager to post. It was “Not the Spitter” ruling out Aniq. I know a lot of people suspected Aniq but it just wouldn’t make any sense for him to do that because he loves Zoë and wants her family to like him. This week’s clue is:
“Not Without Planning”
Ok so whoever killed Edgar had a plan in place which makes things tricky. It raises the question of when exactly the killer came up with the plan. People who could have planned ahead of time are Grace, Travis, Hannah, Sebastian, Feng, Isabel, and Vivian. Ulysses wasn't found until a little before the wedding and his interactions with Edgar seemed civil so I'm not counting him in that category. If we're going with the Devil's Trumpet as the murder weapon, Hannah and Ulysses would both have been able to plan with it since they're familiar with the plant. Isabel could have planned it with a readily available pill besides the adderall since by then she'd already started suspecting him of drugging her. Travis could have started planning from the moment he got the invite and started theorizing about the crypto scam. The wedding website mentions Hannah's garden so he could have already known there would be dangerous plants and researched some of them ahead of time.
Isabel’s Pills
Tumblr media
Isabel was clearly unraveling after the death of her husband and it’s really creepy to witness. Like she’s lost all touch with reality and her behavior at the wedding is starting to make sense. Whoever called it that Edgar was trying to force her into a conservatorship was right! I’d say Edgar should pay for this but it looks like he already has! 🍻 Omg at the reveal that she actually was trying to help Grace and that she was actually on adderall the whole time. This makes her wedding speech really sad now that we know the context of it. Is this enough of a motive to kill Edgar? Yes. Plus she’s rich enough to get away with it. But I see Isabel as a fighter and someone who would have kept trying to find proof rather than a quick “fix” like that.
Edgar’s Bathrobe
As pointed out several times on Reddit, Edgar’s initials on his robe don’t match his actual initials (Edgar Alexander Minnows). And when Edgar finds Isabel wide awake at 4:30 in the morning once again we see EDM. This could very well be a red herring and I’m not going to bother trying to do an anagram because I bet you that between now and next week someone will have uncovered something.
Travis Being Nosy
Tumblr media
As always Travis is in everybody’s business and I want to know WHY? Yes he lost his money in crypto and knew Edgar was a crook but he is too invested. I don’t think he murdered Edgar bc his death means he won’t get the answers he needs, but come on now. WAIT A MINUTE: Did we ever see Edgar and Travis interact the whole weekend? We saw Travis interact with Aniq, Hannah, Sebastian and Isabel but not Edgar. And he also did not mention socializing with Grace as well which is odd because wouldn’t you want to speak to your ex at some point at a wedding to give them well wishes if it ended on good terms? And have we even gotten confirmation from Grace that she was the one who invited him? Did he deliberately leave something out?
Two Ways to Win
Yet another Reddit theory confirmed! But just what does it mean? Who is it that has won twice?
Edgar Getting Drugged Multiple Times
Tumblr media
Ok so the Reddit theory that everybody drugged Edgar at some point came true which is wild 😭 We’ve got the wedding cake, the adderall whisky, and the devil’s trumpet. But someone on Reddit thinks the pool could have poisoned him too so who knows?
My Final Guess on Who the Killer Is?
Tumblr media
TRAVIS. He’s been playing dumb this whole time, had no reason to be at the wedding, and is inserting himself in as much of the investigation as he can. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out he lied and Edgar and Sebastian were the ones who scammed him out of Crypto.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see which of us are right next week when the finale airs! I'm really curious to see what the poll will look like by next Tuesday. If you haven't already, get your vote in! Until then, see you after the season finale.

Tag Game
Thanks so much for @those-damn-snippets for tagging me! That was very sweet of you!
+++
1. What motivates you to write?
Alright, this is going to sound super cheesy, but writing just makes me so damn happy. The joy and excitement that new ideas or future scenes bring me is something that drives me forward. I love writing. I feel right when I do it, like all those weird and strange parts of me that never really seem to fit in anywhere else are wanted and needed. So yeah, what motivates me is how much I love writing and how happy it makes me.
And I hope I get to share at least a small spark of that joy with people when they read my stories.
.
2. A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud of; if not, share a line of someone else's work that you love (just be sure to credit).
Oh wow, that’s a hard pick and I don’t know about most proud. I collected a couple of scenes I really liked that I wrote recently and I have to admit that I chose by playing eeny-meeny-miny-moe. I don’t know if that snippet (or any of the snippets really) makes much sense without context, but I really liked the way it turned out.
Warnings ahead for child death as well as vomiting. This one’s not nice folks and it belongs to the novel "Wild Magic" that I’m working on on the side, along with The Shape of a Soul:
Sophie’s hands trembled and then she was vomiting off to the side. The moment she could breathe again she curled up to press her head against Tina’s shoulder, weeping terribly as the summoned werewolf faded, collapsing into itself. She had been too late.
There was no healing death.
.
3. Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them and what are they like?
Alright, that’s a mean question. I like talking about pretty much all of my OCs if I’m given the chance. But I suppose one of the OCs that always makes me happy to write is Ziana from "Hearts of Magic".
She’s such a genuinely fun and loyal person who is down for all kinds of mischief and nonsense and will literally poison your abusive parent the second you let her. She’s warm and kind and supportive and protects the people she loves with all she has. She never takes herself too seriously and you can talk with her about anything and she’ll listen and either try to help or offers a hug. Or to go punch the person who upset you.
She is, weirdly enough, a main character who’s more written the way a side-character would be. Which is also part of the fun of getting to explore her personality and actions and how the story is told through her.
.
4. What process of writing do you enjoy the most?
Excited scribbling and mashing of keys when I let the story take over. I love it when it all just flows right out of me and onto the page and it actually sounds like I want it to. That’s the best thing and I literally don’t care if I’m writing an action or friendship or romance scene. Just that feeling of getting to upend a large bucket of water, but instead of water it’s just a rushing flow of words.
.
5. What part of writing do you think you're best at? (Stroke your own ego, it's okay.)
I think I’m pretty good at writing emotions or the emotional state of characters. That and giving characters neither much of a description or names and sometimes even both.
.
6. What is something in the writeblr community that is most enjoyable?
I’m usually bad with getting into communities or fandoms and all that and I don’t know if I am a part of the writelbr community, but I really love just how nice and encouraging everyone has been since I started posting stories. You guys are just too sweet and it’s a joy to come up with stories and share them with you.
.
7. A writing tool/device that help you with writing (i.e. text to speech, a program, etc.).
It’s going to sound super old-school, but it’s notes and notebooks. I have a special notebook for each of my novels I’m working on and I write everything down, from people to quotes to places to monsters or phrases in made-up languages.
.
8. A piece of world-building that you like in your own story (it could be the magic system, a particular place, a law, etc.).
Oh, that’s another hard one. I love world-building and I do it for every damn piece of writing. I’m going with the first thing that came to mind:
In my novel "Wild Magic" there are demons born out of negative or unwanted emotions when people die. Grief, abandonment, regret, fear, things like that. Those creatures can only be fought and killed by mages, but there is also never going to be an end to them either. There will always be someone who dies unhappy or filled with some fierce or bitter emotion. So part of the story is the characters muddling their way through that world and figuring out what to do.
.
9. What piece of advice would you give to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?
This may sound counterproductive to some people, but go away from your story. Take a walk, go to the toilet and sit down and play on your phone, go sit in the sun or lie on the floor and listen to nothing or to a song or white noise. Did you drink and eat enough today? Go get a glass of water or juice anyway, that’s always a good idea. And what about your medication? Or sleep?
Get some distance to your story if you can’t figure out what bothers you about it or why you are stuck. Clear your head and come back when you’re not filled with frustration or stress.
Aside from that, go back to the point in your writing where you still liked and enjoyed your writing. Try to figure out from there what happened that made it hard for you to continue.
Do you need to re-write a certain scene? Did you try to force characters to do or say something just to fit an idea in your mind? Do you find the current scene boring or tedious and do you need to shorten or skip it all together, summarizing it with a few words? Is the current emotional state of your characters hard for you to write and do you need to slow down and take it moment by moment?
.
10. Tag some people whose works you love/have been your biggest supporters.
I hope you guys don’t mind getting tagged! I really enjoy your writing a lot.

Do you think it's possible that the BBC took out anyone they thought would potentially come to Hangman's aid??? To like. Make it SEEM like no one cares about or loves him anymore??? I just cannot see Dark Order NOT coming out to help him 😭😭
Or maybe I'm just being delusional and Hangy really did fuck up one of the only good friendships he had 😔😔
no, i definitely think it was intentional that they did it. mox was NOT happy about the loss to hangman, which he proved in the promo after revolution. further proof is the promo he cut before one of the first 3 matches on a Road To, where he said part of the reason he always wins is because he doesn’t like to lose. i think that quote is important too in the context of the elite as a whole. you can’t forget that mox has lost to very few men in AEW, and four of them are Hangman, Kenny, Nick, and Matt.
then there’s also the fact that bryan communicated his love for his friends out loud, something the elite never does on television. sure, on BTE. but even on BTE you have them miscommunicating all to hell. it’s definitely a jab at how the elite can’t ever get on the same page, emotionally.
they hurt Stu, Mox killed Uno at one point, they hurt Alex and John, they (likely) injured the Bucks, and then they took out Hangman to get to Kenny.
Now, Hangman walks out here on his own when he says something akin to “there’s no professional wrestler left in that locker room—,” just like how mox at the end of november said “there’s nobody back there, nobody within 100 miles that has the balls to take me on.” naturally, hangman answered both these calls. because he’s a fucking idiot and i think they’ve figured him out completely. just like he told punk that he would protect the aew locker room from him, he’s constantly coming out when there are wild insults made at the expense of his locker room. he is constantly putting himself in danger without back up.
do y’all remember when brodie cut that promo on hangman? how he is constantly without back up? how he doesn’t ever realise that the odds are against him? you remember when brodie said the dark order would protect him? at a bar or in the ring? that they would never leave him alone?
the dark order has always done that. if they weren’t taken out beforehand. i wonder if they’ll ever call back to those words one day, because it was such a powerful promo at the time. and i haven’t forgotten about the bucks/dark order segment on BTE around All Out last year, where they all spoke and buried the hatchet. i’d like to see them come together for real to protect him.
but i am just worried about how many eggs are being juggled here that i’m worried they’ll drop the ball on a few of them. i hope it ends up making sense, because i THINK it Does, but there’s a few pieces missing still.
back to the question, though. I DO think that them targeting his situation with his friends is very telling of where this will go. if hangman has no friends, he’s fucked.

All the interpretations of the parable of the 10 Virgins are so interesting, but they all seemed to me to be missing something and I couldn’t quite figure out what it was.
Recently I heard one explanation which interpreted the oil as fruit. I wanted to test it against scripture because it really fits, so I wanted to share what I found! (I tried to condense as much as possible, sorry it’s so long!)
When we use the Bible itself to interpret the Bible, things begin to amazingly make so much more sense than ever, and things that never made sense before just light up! So I searched all the terms used in this parable to see what they meant in other passages of scripture and it was truly amazing to me.
You can read this entire parable in context in Matthew 25:1-13. I don’t want to make this any longer than it has to be by putting it here, and that way you can test it yourself as you go along (if you wanna!) So here goes….
“THEN THE kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom...”
Lamps are The Word of God:
(You can find other verses as well that support these terms so I have only used my favorites, but I suggest you search them all yourself because you will be so blessed!)
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105!)
“Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps…
‭‭
The wise virgins are the ones keeping God’s Word:
“Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on a rock.” Matt. 7:24
The foolish ones are those who didn’t keep God’s Word:
“Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house in the sand.” Matt. 7:26
Both the Lamp and the Light I found together in another passage, and having already found that the Lamp is The Word and here it shows me that the Light brings His Word to our understanding and shines out of us, making the fruit of the Word seen.
“For the commandment (the Word) is a LAMP ~ and the “teaching a LIGHT,” and reproofs of discipline are the way of life. Prov. 6:23 and “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭5:16‬
“but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps….
The Oil is The Holy Spirit producing the organically natural-growing fruit of the genuine-desire of the heart to be obedient:
Command the people of Israel to bring pure oil from beaten olives for the LAMP, that a LIGHT may be kept burning regularly. Lev. 24:2
It’s the times we are pressed with sorrows, trials, and persecution, (the beaten olive) that the light of the Word living through us shines out the brightest, as we stand through it as our faith is tested - making the fruit of His Word in our lives visible to the world.
In Romans 11:17 it says “But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree.” it shows us that we are the branches from the olive tree - the olives are our fruit from the tree, and when beaten produce oil.
Fruit is what comes naturally from the inside out.
It’s not manufactured like “works” - it’s organic.
Like an apple tree does not organically grow oranges, so it is that the heart shows the world without even having to work at it, what kind of tree it is.
This is why so many times Jesus explains that we are known by our fruit.
“But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept….And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps… and the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out… “
When God commands us to do things and we do not listen, His voice dims until we can no longer hear it….
As the Bridegroom was delayed, they became drowsy and did not keep the light of the Word continuously burning so they could be ready when He called.
They could not hear Him any longer and they fell asleep.
It’s critically important to keep our desire to keep His Word awake - putting it into the LAMP of His Word so that we don’t run out of the LIGHT which is shining out of us showing who we belong to - showing what kind of tree we are!!!
This is how it makes sense to me:
The 10 Virgins took The Word with them and went to wait for the Bridegroom. (Because Jesus said “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. John‬ ‭8:31‬‬)
If you do a search on the words “if you keep my word” you will find so many verses that will really set this in concrete.
Some versions use the word continue or abide.
Ok, so Five of them got tired and sidetracked and did not continue in His Word, but the other Five of them did continue in His Word while the waited.
The five who did not keep His Word had soon lost their desire to obey His commands and their love grew cold. (Jesus said “if you love me you will keep my commands” John 14:23) but when we do not continue in His Word our love grows cold and we become tired.
The wise ones were still able to be driven by their love and desire to obey His Word and keep His commands, so it kept them awake. When the Bridegroom was finally arriving there was a loud shout: “Here He comes! Come and meet Him!”
It seems to me that the loudness of the shout shook even the sleeping ones awake because they all arose, but the ones who forgot to keep the light of His Word burning asked the obedient ones to give them some of their “desire to keep His Word” because theirs had burnt out.
The obedient ones could not manufacture that desire to give to them because it’s a fruit of the Holy Spirit to be long suffering and that only comes from continuing in God’s Word.
It had to come from their own hearts naturally from keeping the light of His Word burning!
So they could only have enough for themselves.
They told the foolish ones that they would need to go and buy their own oil. (and this made me think of Revelation‬ ‭3:18: “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.”‬)
So the ones who were ready went in with the bridegroom to the marriage feast and the door was shut. When the other 5 virgins came back, they said “Lord, Lord, open to us” but He said “Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.” 😔
This brought to my mind the other passages where Jesus said “I never knew you.” And I remembered that in those passages He again mentions about being known them by fruit.
That is another search you can do of those words “I never knew you” which will confirm that is through our fruit - what is coming out of our lives.
Jesus said you will know them by their fruits.
The fruits of the spirit are love, joy, faith, long-suffering and self control. (Check out Galatians 5:19-25)
❗️But we cannot manufacture these fruits - it is by continuing in His Word that we are transformed because it washes the old us away.❗️
You can Google what the Bible says about being washed by the Word and it will bless your socks off.
Even Jesus said “you are clean by the words I have spoken to you.” (John 15:3)
❗️Jesus paid the price for us, and in His eyes we are perfect because, even though we will fail and fall - He knows whether our true desire in our heart is to be obedient to keep His Word, and He knows if we are continuing in His Word.❗️
❗️This can either be a great comfort - or a terrifying alarm to get on our knees and repent and pray for the desire to obey Him - to give Him our will so that He will “work in us to will and to act according to His good purpose!” (Phil 3:13) He said anyone who comes to Him, He will not turn away. (John 6:37)❗️
❗️Colossians 1:22 says that through Jesus’s death He presents you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight, ❗️but the next verse, 23, it says “IF indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel”❗️- this is accomplished by continuing in His Word and being continuously transformed by it “from glory to glory.”
When we exchange our will for His, and His spirit begins to live through us -it produces that genuine, organic, natural desire to keep His Word FOR us. This is not salvation by works - this is the “fruit” of our salvation proving we are His, and proving we love Him. That’s why He said “If you love me, keep my commands.”
This is us taking a step in faith to abide in His Word (where faith COMES from according to Romans 10:17) and the spirit of God Who lives in us creating this desire in response to our faith. ❤️‍🔥
This is what James 2:18 means by “But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith BY my works.”
This is also why we are not able to judge each other’s hearts. We can judge actions - whether they are right or wrong according to the light of His Word, but we can never know how far someone has come.
Only God knows.
❗️Clearly this parable is so that we can judge our own fruit coming out of our own heart and not to look at others because we will never know the progress in their heart - that naturally and organically produced “desire by the Holy Spirit to be obedient” to keep God’s Word.❗️
We have to always ask ourselves, “When He comes will He find us ready and waiting? Will He see His fruit growing in us? Will the light of His Word be written in our hearts and burning brightly into the world? Will He know us?”
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.John 14:23
And He will not give up no matter how many times He has to shout loudly to get your attention so you will come back and abide in His Word so that you will continue to grow and shine the light of His Word for all the world to see and glorify Him.
“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” John‬ ‭6:37-40‬

this is my response to @femmeliarity ‘s post and @bloodstarvedbutch ‘s response, since klarissa me blocked ig. the post can be found here
1) calling this SA, even online, is an absolutely wild thing to me given NONE of what is described meets any definition of sexual assault. i’m assuming OP meant sexual harassment, but i’m not sure it meets any definition of that either
2) the fact this post includes nary a screenshot, or link, or whatever, indicates two things to me:
a) this callout post is based on very little actual evidence
b) i should take it with a grain of salt
and it’s very very weird to me so many people are commenting on this issue/reblogging posts about it without any actual concrete way for the rest of us who were not involved to see what was actually said. this is apparently a discord with several people (i’m guessing? more than 10?) and not a single person has come up with screenshots. not of the supposed messages to other people, not of instances where people were uncomfortable, none of the actual incident/context, none of the mods messaging each other about the decision to remove this person.
that’s...weird right? to everyone else? in a world where many posters are said to engage in leftist activism in a way that, at least in a way where we can acknowledge prisons and cops are bad, why are we using retributive measures?
3) “The allegations against that person sending an NSFW video to the server is completely fabricated.”
then what happened? what exactly did this person do?
4) “I have not spoken to this person or their partner, including through sending anons, but I did message with someone who asked about the situation, and told me they would try to make sense of it with them. “
Who? what did they say?
5) “This person and their partner have both made several posts about their removal from the group, each of which they had included this falsified allegation, or the narrative that we had them removed from another group, which neither are true.”
which posts? what did they say? which parts of the narrative are false?
6) “ I did not want to make a post of my own as neither of them seemed to be willing to listen, take accountability, and take the time to heal”
did you approach them? what did you say? what did they say? why are we assuming instead of just posting screenshots of what was said? i don’t need anyone to have URLs posted, even.
7) “ This person’s partner called my femininity as conforming to “tradwife aesthetics.” “
what’s the context here? tradwife is accurately described in the paragraphs below, but i’m confused about the application of that definition in this instance. jewish women and women of color (and jewish women of color) can also contribute to white supremacy--one is not exempt from aiding an oppressor merely because they are an oppressed class.
8) “I am sure many other femmes of color will agree, but we have to work extra hard for our femininity to be “acceptable” to white people.”
I agree this is true, but I am not sure of the connection between this and what was said earlier.
9) “I would never wish ill upon anyone and I understand this individual is hurt, but I hope they can heal, make peace, and move on.”
what healing do they need to do? how can they move on if restorative practices are not taken? how do they make peace?
10) it also seems, to me, strange to say in one post “we can understand that sometimes it can be hard to determine when someone has established a boundary or been made uncomfortable, so we wanted to be as clear as possible in our rules.” and then platform a reply to your post that says “ making callout posts because you got kicked out of a space where you made people uncomfortable and pushing multiple boundaries to be THE reason sfw rules were reinforced and expanded on.”
[bolding mine for readability]
people are going to be uncomfortable. that is life, especially in an online and explicitly political space.* these are also, i would say, not boundaries. they are rules. and that’s fine! but to say they are boundaries is incorrect and gives a false idea of how boundaries and discord servers work.
*i mean this in that marginalized identities are often political in nature + butch/femme are political identities
11) it is also weird when these are the tags left on the same reblog:
Tumblr media
then how do you know what was said? why are you getting screenshots and we aren’t?
TLDR: we need to change the culture around behavior changes on tumblr, but also queer spaces broadly. the more this continues, the more we will see posts like this one, and situations like this one, which can (and will) explode.

@ladym-rules asked a rose for the politics AU! Here’s a *rough* snippet from an upcoming chapter:
“Brienne?” The question in Jaime’s voice poured cold water right over the her surety. What was she doing, ringing him in the middle of the day? She wanted a rant, that was all: the meeting that just ended had been unbearable. She’d thought Jaime would understand but they weren’t really doing this sort of — “Are you all right?”
“I’m.” Brienne took a deep breath. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have call—”
“That isn’t what I said. I always want you to call.”
“Oh,” she said quietly. Tried for a moment to slot that into a place which made sense within the context of everything, found she couldn’t. Certainly not when her blood was still thrumming hot. She set it aside for later. “Okay. I. It was. Do you know the MP for White Harbour?”
“Complete tosser,” Jaime said immediately. “Styles himself some sort of man of the people but the people tend not to be those who make up the majority of his constituency but rather those in his immediate circle of old money aristocrats —” said with a particular sort of ironic distaste, the next said with outright disgust, “— and financiers.”
“Right. I’m not in favour of incarceration or any sort of violent punishment. It doesn’t work. And even if it did, I don’t want that sort of horror on my conscience.”
“I’m aware.”
“I do, however, have a list of people I want to set loose in the wilds beyond the Wall. Possibly nude. Certainly alone. No tools or supplies. Or maybe something useless, like a twig. Some item metaphorically related to the extent of help they’re willing to extend to the average person.”
“My vision tends towards oceans and rowboats, no shelter, no supplies. One oar. I understand this implicitly.”
“I like that. The saltiest sea. No other water resources.”
“That’s it.”
“When it’s due to be clear skies. No wind.”
“Absolutely.”
“That MP,” she couldn’t even bring herself to name the man, “is a f*cking — A complete and utter — Jaime,” It was perhaps possible she whined his name in frustration but she was hoping they’d both overlook that. “I don’t even have the words! Every time I work with him, he makes my job heIl. I like my job. Mostly. Probably…” Jaime let the pause hang without comment, which she appreciated, finding it hard to navigate through the red. “I just hate him.” And wasn’t that an incredibly fatuous thing to say? She lost all her words when she got too angry.
“That seems reasonable,” Jaime said in direct opposition.

Ingo was in Hisui for four years, and the same time passed in his present while he was gone. People changed, both because he disappeared and that the world kept on turning and bringing more changes unrelated to him.
What are the changes in his loved ones that he takes the most time get used to? Which surprise him the most?
And vice versa, which changes to Ingo surprise his family and friends the most? Which take them time to adapt to?
Hmmm. Honestly that's hard to say. There's just smaller details, like appearances. Elesa changes her look often, so that's not much of a surprise. Emmer has gotten more fit from the last Ingo remembers, which took him for a loop. Though, I think can be the same for Emmet. Neither twin excepted the other yi get more buff.
I feel like in terms of work and getting things back to 'normal' is the changes that take the most time to get used to. Emmet has a completely different schedule than he had before compared to 4 years ago, as do Ingo. Waking up early to start the day is something both have in common, I think, but the routine is different. Emmet would have to remind Ingo that he doesn't have to do patrols anymore- at least in the context that Ingo was used to. Ingo was surprised by how....singular,things have gotten between them. Emmet did, after all, had to live on his own without Ingo for 4 years. He still kept Ingo's side of things intact and clean, of course, but he still did stuff alone. Bascically, both of their morning routines, which includes the banter and back and forth between the two, wasn't there anymore. It was hard to do that when there's so much uncertainty lingering around. I think they take it themselves to find a new routine, for both of them. It's hard, given the circumstances, but I'm positive these two will think of something that would bring back that brotherly banter in their mornings and routine. G
Going to the work side of things, much like the morning routines, it was very singular for a while. Everyone is overjoyed that Ingo is back, don't get me wrong, but they just found a system that worked for one subway boss, now it's back to two. They make it work. They always do. This is the Gear Station we're talking about.
I feel like for Ingo, it's weird to see people grow up. Iris, for example, was just a young kid/ teen when he last saw her. But now? She's almost a full fledge adult. Sti energetic and a bit of a wild child, but she has a more mature air to her. Ingo hates how he misses seeing her grow. Drayden, the man who seems practically immortal, is also growing older. This isn't to say that he's dying, but it's something that Ingo does notice. The same can be said with Alexis and Elliot, though they weren't in Unova when Ingo comes back. The video call was a tearful one, but the small changes in Elliot's hair ( he loves her red dye!) and seeing Alexis looking more refreshed and sure of himself if a wonderful sight to see. Both of them seem more sure of themselves, so he's glad it all worked out.
For Emmet specifically, having his brother back is both something he knew would happen, but also something he couldn't believe. It's weird. Ingo being here is weird. He doesn't want him to go away- no, never again. It's just....how can he be sure it isn't a dream? I don't think it really sunk into him yet, despite the crying and the hugs and the cheering. Ingo is here. Ingo is alive. What does that mean for him? He doesn't really know. Is it bad for him to not know? This is his brother, he should be more sure. Maybe he's waiting to wake up. For whatever dream he's having to end and he wakes up alone again with Ingo no where in sight. But he does wake up. And Ingo is there, just as confused as he is. It takes some getting used to. All this confusion. But it's a good confusion, if that makes sense. It's better to be confused together than alone, after all.

Eyy its back and about time too! Its that classic dimentio × Luigi or Luigi × Mimi bait its super unclear which ship this fic is for! Jokes on you: its for ME I wrote this for FUN
Title: The Alliance
Characters: Luigi, Dimentio, Mimi, Super Dimentio (technically)
Chapters: 1 (more to come)
Summary: Super dimentio wakes up after the final battle not dead and not NOT Super Dimentio
Something enters your space. A light tip-tap as it skitters across the floor is what first alerted you of its presence, but now even if it held still you’d know exactly where it was. You can smell the magic it emits, and even more damning, feel its presence within space and time. The divot it makes in the fabric of space, the border of its flesh- you could identify its location if it was pitch black and you were deaf.
PL■■ER S■■■■■: PL■■■■ ???
Easy meal.
You lunge at it, moving at not even half your top speed, and easily snap it up between your jaws without a second thought. You chew- and feel an odd nagging in the back of your skull. You slow… It feels like you should be focusing on something.
Well, the taste certainly isn’t nice. Sharp and bitter, coppery and cold. The texture is worse, the thing is cutting up your mouth something fierce. Its making quite a racket in there, and you feel like the noise its making is….important. Its not just any random series of sounds, its… a voice? Its speaking a language… the tone is very harsh, very mean… it makes your eyebrows furrow. You know this voice… its demanding somethi
“DON’T YOU DARE SWALLOW ME YOU NITWIT!!“
PLAYER SELECT: PLAYER ONE - LUIGI
You come to your senses and immediately hack up the creature that had been in your mouth. It tumbles a few times before steadying itself on extended, spiderlike appendages. It seems disoriented, then furious, then disgusted.
"EeeEEW LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY DRESS YOU JERKS! I KNOW YOURE ALL EVIL OR WHATEVER BUT SERIOUSLY?!”
Something seems comical about this tiny green creature disciplining you. Shes less than even a third of your size. You search your mind for a name. She’s… she’s….
“Do you even recognize me? Its me, Mimi! Hello???"
Your head lifts quickly. That’s the name! She seems pleased you’re showing recognition, a smile finding its way on her lips.
Talk about a mood swing...unless she wasnt that mad at all?
"Can I finally get a decent welcome now? I’ve been worried.”
Her face has been washed over with a new expression- relief. You’re unsure why. She approaches you, boldly, and places a hand against yours. Its shockingly tiny on your ring finger.
"…You’re still alive in there, right, L?“
That name just about sent a shockwave through you. L- your villain name- your whole villain identity for that matter, comes flooding back to you. Bleck's crew, the brainwashing, your machines, your fights with your brother-
You back away quickly, only to begin stumbling over your long, flexible limbs. You don’t know if you’re fleeing from Mimi or the nonexistent embodiment of the information itself, but you crash into a heap in your distress.
"Wh- hey! I’m not even trying to scare you guys!”
Something deeply disturbs you about how she addresses you in a plural sense. You still feel like your sentience is escaping you, like you’re moments away from returning to the mental state of a wild animal.
You try hard to focus. You forgot you even had an identity. You had just been prowling around in the ruins of Castle Bleck for some time now, like a predator. Remembering your own name was a slap to the face, scaring the last animalistic tendencies right out of you. You scour your mind for context…you try to remember…
The chaos heart was inside you- more specifically in your chest. You could hazily see your brother hopping from platform to platform, trying to counter you, trying to win…but also trying not to hurt you.
He couldnt choose both.
You remember looming over him. He went too easy on you. You had the upper hand. Your foot was raised to crush him.
And then you remember absolutely losing your mind.
The heart in your chest was subject to a sudden onslaught of emotional and magical violence that burst forth from you all at once. You remember forcing the chaos heart out of your chest and deep into the pit of your stomach, like most of your unpleasant emotions.
Down into your core, away from light, away from control, buried underneath the rest of your guilt and sadness you keep locked up inside.
And then you fainted.
Your name is Luigi.
You tentatively stand up. You can feel the chaos heart still deep inside your gut, though it feels different. Wounded almost…. changing? Its pulsing inside you, shifting. Its uncomfortable, to say the least. Bitterly cold.
"Hey, L, its ok."
Mimi gives your finger a slight squeeze, bringing you back to reality. You feel a little more at ease.
"The others are alright, y’know. Nastasia is kinda rough around the edges, but things have been ok!"
She offers you a semi-forced smile. You feel selfish for not worrying about the others- your main concern right now was yourself.
"Um, that Mario guy has been just fine too. He was really upset about…all this. But hes healing really well!”
She must’ve seen you tense up in fear, because she pursed her lips and patted your hand a few more times.
“Uh, lets talk about other stuff, yea? Like....oh! Nass says that you should have the power to change!"
You tilt your head.
"Like, y’know. Change outta this…gross ugly body. Using your magic or whatever.”
She gestures to you as a whole, which is only slightly insulting.
Does she really expect you to use magic? You’re not exactly an adept magic user, and you’re scared of trying to channel the chaos heart’s magic for any reason…
But apparently its not your choice, as someone else begins using it for you.
PLAYER SELECT: PLAYER TWO - DIMENTIO
As soon as you catch wind that it is an option, you begin to shift out of this bulky, uncomfortable form. Your height shrinks, limbs grow shorter, and your neck becomes a reasonable length as you manipulate the heart resting inside you. The thing is in shambles from its harassment earlier- presumably yours. You didn’t think your manipulation was going to break the damn thing, but now for some reason its dysfunctional.
As you weave the magic to your will, your body changes to a form more tolerable. Less powerful, certainly, but with the adrenaline from the battle wearing off, it turns out this kind of body is VERY painful to simply live in. You think comfort simply existing is worth having your hight reduced a little.
You finally are able to stand on two feet without assistance of your arms like some kind of ape, and casually float a few inches off the ground. You examine your body, much to an ignored Mimi’s annoyance. You don’t really want to talk to her. Your head is killing you, and taking the time to contemplate and form dialogue would only make the pain spike. You instead examine your body as Mimi taps her foot impatiently.
Your poncho which once fit your bigger form decently now drapes over you like a dress. You have scars all over your exposed legs and arms.
Well, those have always been there, even before the chaos heart.
Gloved hands, a fancy little ruffle around your neck… with your tattered clothes and ruffled hair, you look like quite the train wreck. You absentmindedly tap your cheek as you surmise the situation before realizing in horror that it is completely exposed, along with the rest of your face.
You scan the ground in a panic before finding your prize- your mask- and slide it on. You breathe a sigh of relief. It still fits perfectly. You feel a sense of comfort with it at home on your face. Finally, you cast a glance over at Mimi, who looks wholly irritated by you taking your sweet time.
"Is that Dimmy now?"
You scoffed lightly, attempted to come up with a retort, but were unsuccessful in forming a single sentence. Your throat feels horribly damaged for some reason. Possibly magic burns. You only manage a pitiful sounding "Ngh" before the pain causes you to fall to one knee, and Mimi quickly skitters over, despite her previous expression of distaste.
PLAYER SELECT: PLAYER ONE - LUIGI
Having a human-like body again fills you with so much relief it nearly blocks out the intense horror you felt when your arm moved against your own will to pick up Dimentio’s mask and place it over your face. The material was cold and uninviting, and shivers ran down your spine when it remained on your face despite there being no strap to speak of. You tried to gather your courage and stand back up, but just wobbled and collapsed on the ground. This is….ok, too, you guess. Mimi stared at you concerned.
"I’m gonna get Chunky to carry you outta here, ok? Its super cold and I dunno if its good for you in here. Its gonna be ok."
Mimi gave you a pat on your side, and as quickly as she came, the spiderling skittered off into the darkened ruins of Castle Bleck.
You remained on the ground, waiting. Mostly alone. Making horrifying discoveries by accident. You had ran your tongue along your teeth only to realize they were razor sharp. You could bite your own tongue off if you wanted to. You tried to rub your eyes, only to feel that they were empty sockets, devoid of your once charming blue eyes. You have no idea how you’re still able to see, even if your vision is rather poor. You decide to stop moving completely, before you make another nightmarish discovery, like your ears being inside out or your hands being on backwards or something.
The worst part about being left alone is having to endure the activity inside your stomach with absolutely nothing to distract you. The chaos heart was like some kind of animal, chewing away at you and leaving you feel horribly drained. You hugged your stomach, as if that would help
PLAYER SELECT: PLAYER TWO - DIMENTIO
You need…a compromise. Something else to occupy the chaos heart aside from your flesh. A power source maybe. If it had something else to gnaw on, it would likely be more easy to deal with. You moved your arms out of the vise-like grip they had over your stomach, and turned to lay flat on your back. You moved your hands under the fabric of your oversized poncho, letting them rest over your stomach. You noticed with a bit of distaste that it wasn’t as flat as before. Are chaos hearts fattening? Are they bad for you?? You ponder this for awhile as magic gently trickles through your fingers and into the flesh of your midsection. A mild pain relief spell, nothing too advanced, but enough to let you catch your breath. You breathe slowly, trying to ease away the panic that is flooding your nerves. Deep breath in, slow exhale out. You rest your eyes as you attempt to meditate, and for some reason you aren’t calmed in the slightest. This isn’t like you. Why is your heart racing like that? You don’t really know why Mimi is being so docile right now- you don’t really understand half of what she said. Why was she telling you about Mario of all people?? Do you look like you care? And another thing- clearly you must’ve lost the fight…so why are you still breathing?
And where did that green fool wander off to in all of this?
