getting a sudden resurgence of art motivation is such a blessing and a curse tbh. bc on one hand im drawing a lot and having a lotta fun doing so but on the other hand i wanted to make Even More secret stuff for atbb that requires drawing so i told myself i would make a few very sketchy things that would have to be quick and don't have to be Insane Awesome Quality since they'll be blurry as hell in the final product anyway and i have like less than a week / a couple days at most to get it all ready in time

so anyways now it's 3am and i just finished the first of what i still want to do after 3 days

#trousled dumb #WHAT THE HELL IS IT WITH ME AND OVERDOING SHIT THAT'S JUST GONNA BE BLURRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!#there are THERE characters in this fucking thing btw. and a background. whats wrong with me who have i become #i was sooo close to just leaving it with minimal shading & detail and finishing it like So Many Hours Ago I Don't Even Know #but i had that thought. you know the one. the one that says Wait I Can Push This More. and well i fucking pushed it #i think im gonna have to do an art dump when this event is done. because where this is gonna be seen beforehand it's gonna be 400px wide.#its original width is 1694px for the record. can you imagine the compression #motion blur + scanlines filter + several gaussian blurs + ungodly compression.......................why did i . do this #sigh. at least i am extremely proud of it and at least i lost track of time solely because of how much fun i was having #but also fellas i do not think i will be drawing everything i want to be prepared by the time of the reveal lmaooo #head in hands. i have drawn a really really good pair of boots. and also a lesbian. and also fully rendered drinks with ice cubes in them #ice cubes that you cannot see. because they are already so small that they had to be drawn with a 2px brush. and now they are blurred #and also obscured by the glass details in general. but by god do they change color under the liquid and everything #goodnight . i would put a cute little emoji here but there isnt anything that represents a smile akin to baring my teeth like a wild animal

Today I:

-got my ass out of bed so fucking early (for ME lmao...I haven't had regular external reasons to wake up early for in ages) to get to a school north of the city by 8 to give my sherd nerds outreach. the smart screen tv whateverthefuck was acting up so it was not the smoothest presentation I've ever given, but the powerpoint really isn't the point. the point is letting kids get their fingos on some sherds from several thousand years ago and blowing their minds a little. and I did that so mission accomplished :)

-put my head down and got through the last things on my revisions to do list

-got the last two updated maps and sent the draft back to my advisor ahead of our morning meeting tomorrow

My complicated(?) feelings about Paldea's starters are that Skeledirge is my fave, but as an evolution line, Sprigatito's line is the best.

#dee p thoughts #pokemon #this is because crocalor's design is pretty awkward yeah love the nest hat but it wouldve been better if they established for quadpedalness #then. I dont have any feelings about quaxly theyre cute and then not when quaxly evolves imo unfortunately adfadlkjn- a peacockmon is #something I enjoy/would be hype for but Im not vibing with the designs in that line beyond quaxly-#I didnt even enjoy meowscarada that much but flower trick is such a BANGER it did change my opinion. I like floragato the best out of the #line I love the puss in boots sort of feel ahhh- and at the end of the day meowscarada's design is pretty good I even feel skeledirge's #design could be improved (mostly the backview it feels lacking) I just love the concepts going on sooo muchhhhh

Made some shoes for a cosplay project that’s 2 (almost 3!) months overdue 🥲

•

These are my first pair of shoes I’ve made by hand since discovering/ picking up the skill way back in May 💜💜💜

They’re pretty comfortable for the most part and mostly came out the way I wanted. The only thing I wish I’d done better were the outsoles, but I sculpted those by hand with EVA foam, a dremel, crafting knife and sandpaper so 🤷🏾‍♀️

[MATERIALS]

Uppers are a Faux Stretch Patent Leather

Lining is a Spandex Jersey

Interfaced with Cotton Canvas on the vamp and a knit interfacing on all the stretch fabrics

Insole is Texon Board wrapped in the jersey with a steel shank and cork sheet to fill the gaps

Outsole is 6mm EVA-70 + 2mm Hard-Lite EVA foam painted with acrylics

Sock liner is 1mm Form-Lite EVA foam + Cork sheeting wrapped in Polyester Satin

Embellishments are 4mm EVA foam wrapped in the jersey and Gold beading glued to 2mm Hard-Lite EVA foam and cut to shape
