Not a commission, just fanart for myself that took 15+ hours lol. I thought this scene would be super fun to see, so I drew it myself!

I loved this sports hockey romance, I’m not really a “sport” girl but I’m for sure a Nathan Hawkins girl (and Anastasia Allen girl). I’m not great at reviewing things, and I’m not trying to, I just wanted to do this being I enjoyed the book. :) 

ALSO, like I really want to do more of this stuff. There are so many books that would be amazing graphic novels. Like please authors do this! (And hire me!)

I was gonna 100% let it slide if on book 5 Tory and Darius actually ended up together after being Starcrossed if they slowly went back and worked it out and stuff. Because I really liked the breaking of the norm with refusing a soulmates, and it would've been much more genuine than them getting together because the stars said so. There is a lot of potential there.

But nooo, Everyone and their mother on this fucking book needed to force the thought onto Tory about them being perfect for each other and give Darius another chance, every one with a worse opinion on it than the last, and that while totally dismissing her traumas. (Gabriel talking about it made me so fucking mad)

Like, yes, she is clearly mizerable about it, but, they're all making like Darius is the victim?? And the ONLY victim?? Oh, Think about how he's feeling. That he's not that bad. He's not his father. You should've given him the chance to change, look at him now. Nah bitch, that's consequences of you actions, your actions have consequences even if you're being manipulated. Her reasoning of being scared if he would've hurt her even in love is super valid but all the character go past her saying this. Even her friends, God, pls stop putting Darius first.

I'm just mad. There was a great foundation there and all they needed to do was to let the characters go on their own pace, but they slammed it into the ground so early on the book. You could still have the plot B of the others trying to get them together, you didn't need to have them directly be "Yk, Darius could've been great, why were you such a bitch and didn't took it?" on Every. Single. Tory. Chapter.

YA fantasy readers. How do you imagine the book characters to look like?

I love editing tvtropes. Time to re-read the early books with the wiki and notepad open, I'mma clean this sucker up the best I can. (will be posting here if it get any updating done)

i need more stories about houses that are actually haunted. it's not a trick, not someone's delusional dream, it's not staged by humans for other humans.

the house is haunted, periodt. whether there are ghosts or whatever creatures that can haunt a character and harm a character (or want to be friends, or want to save a character from another evil creature that wants to harm them) is for author to create.

does anyone have recs for those? the closest thing I can come up with are:

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson (whether is was her imagination or not is still not clear after two or three reads, but damn, it's haunting for real. 'whose hand was I holding?' makes me lean towards the house is actually haunted.)

The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James (easily a five star read from me. (SPOILER ahead) the ghost of a kid screaming, "you got him!" still makes me want to cry. what a powerful book.)

Nightingale house by Steve Frech (a decent 4 star read only bc i had a lot of questions. otherwise 5/5, can recommend.)

I remember about King's 1408 (rated it 3 stars) & it's a decent example of what I want in general, it's just that his writing is usually not for me. I quickly lose interest and get bored with his writing.

so, can anyone PLEASE give me recs for good ones?
