Comfy Cloud things:
The series where I give Cloud a soft loving polyamorous relationship surrounded by comfy slow living things, because HE DESERVES IT!:
Of all the things Sephiroth expected to find upon entering Genesis’ apartment that evening, a blanket fort in the middle of the room was not one of them.
The coffee table and couch had been commandeered as pillars; the cushions raked from every available place; the TV had been dragged from its place in the corner into the make shift tent, and Sephiroth was sure the slight glow from inside the fort had something to do with the solstice decorations box that lay abandoned in the hall.
As he shrugged off his coat and grabbed the hoodie Angeal had left on the Radiator for him, he stopped by the kitchen to ask what was going on. Inside, he was once again shocked to find that the soft tinkering that had been coming from behind the door was not in fact Angeal, but Gen and Zack.
“Am I having a stroke?” He questioned from the doorway, as he watched Zack hook his chin over Genesis’ shoulder. The latter appeared to be making Banora spiced cider on the stove, and chuckled lowly .
“If you are, your doing a spectacular job of pushing through it dearest.” They smirked, patting at the arms around their waist for Zack to release them . “How was patrol?” They asked, shoving a spoonful of warm cider into sephiroths mouth as they approached.
“Cold” The General mumbled around the spoon. He pulled back, “that doesn’t taste nearly as dangerously alcoholic as usual” he said gesturing to the spoon.
Zack snorted, coming over to greet him as well. “Cloud said he didn’t want to get drunk this evening, there’s no alcohol in it”
Genesis made a tsking sound at the reminder and pulled a face. They mumbled something that could have been ‘such a waste’ but Sephiroth knew from the way they stayed relaxed that they didn’t truly mind.
The mention of their chocobo shaped partner had Sephiroth noticing his absence almost at once.
“I take it, the pile of blankets in the living room is their doing?” He asked keeping clouds pronouns ambiguous until he was told otherwise. It had taken a while getting used to the constant switch from ‘he’ to ’They’ with Cloud, but it had gotten significantly easier of late to pick up on it without being told.
“He’s been grumpy all day.” Gen chuckled. “Zack stuck him in there in the hopes it would spare a training room porters feelings.”
“Did it work?” Seph glanced at Zack who looked a little too proud of himself.
“Yup” the younger popped the ‘P’ “he’s spent the last few hours snoozing to cartoons on mute.”
Sephiroth was impressed. Cloud had a tendency to be unbearable when he was in a funk. On a few quite memorable occasions it had been Sephiroth’s own blade that had handled the brunt of their frustration when dysphoria was kicking their arse, or when their ability was questioned as a Mako sensitive Third class.
Sometimes though, Cloud just woke up grumpy, and it really didn’t matter what was said. He’d stay that way until somebody realised he needed a cuddle.
Would Cloud ever admit that’s what they needed? No, absolutely not. When it came to stubborn, pig headedness the only one on par with him was Genesis, but it didn’t change the fact that that was the cure.
Sephiroth hummed amused and wandered out of the kitchen, back to the blanket fort. He knocked on the hard wood of the coffee table and waited until a little flutter of blonde pulled back the curtain of thick Duvets.
Inside, the fort was quite spacious, easily big enough for four of them, though they may need to adapt the design for future grumps if Angeal’s shoulders were to fit, let alone a entire fifth body. Cloud was cuddled up in the middle, dressed in one of Zacks too big hoodies, and what Sephiroth suspected was his own sweat pants.
The bottoms of them were rolled up and the general would never say it out loud (he values his knee caps, thank you very much.) but it was endlessly adorable.
“I’ve been reliably informed you are being a tyrant.” He goads, watching Cloud glower at him sleepily. “Am I to assume my person is forfeit to pillow duty effective immediately?”
The TV remote that was thrown at his chest was enough of a ‘yes’ that he scooted closer; pulling Cloud into his arms and settling them both into the downy soft comforter.
Cloud wiggles further down, getting their head directly under Sephiroth’s chin before huffing into the man’s neck. Sephiroth chuckles, tilting down to lay a Kiss on clouds spikes.
“Better?” He whispers fondly.
“I hate you,” Cloud half heartedly kicks at the man’s shin. There’s no impact behind it to hurt though.
“No you don’t.” Seph challenged gently.
Again Cloud huffed, exasperated but so, so content.
“No,” he mumbled. “I don’t,”
Ta da! Thoughts?

More art of what I have dubbed The Great Fort Wars, an epic tale of a family torn asunder as they battle to stake their claim as the superior type of fort. Pillows with be fluffed, blankets will be stretched thin, and brotherly bonds will be put on the line as traitors are revealed and battles are declared.
I'll probably be creating some comics for this. I've also toyed with the idea of writing a fic too.

Taking resort to imagination like little kids would often sneak into their blanket forts. I'm done with the outside world, I'm done with schools and homeworks, let me stay here in the cozy comforts of what I've built for myself. We've only grown in size, we still build these blanket forts inside our heads - peaceful, serene, spotlessly perfect...

Wooo! I am in the final stretch of my program.
For our final writing 4 class, we had to pitch our own television show and then script a segment.
My show was “Ca-Chan Can’t Sleep” and my segment was, “interview guests in a blanket fort.”
Instead of scripting a fake interview with a random celebrity, I interviewed my classmate about sexism and comedy.

Boom! Crash! Thunder roared outside as rain beat against the windows. Rebecca pulled the curtains tightly closed and returned to the book she was reading by the fire. Between her job at the restaurant and looking after her younger siblings, quiet moments to herself like these were few and far between. Well…Rebecca thought as the thunderstorm raged outside again, it was quiet from the noise of her rowdy, rambunctious family anyway. It was only moments like these when her parents were both at work, and her siblings were all in bed that the house was devoid of that constant yet comforting low roar only a house full of eight people could make. Rebecca didn’t mind the noise, and in fact, often thought she would feel almost lonely in the silence. A house filled with the rowdy sounds of chaos and love was far preferable to the quiet of an empty home without it. Or so she reminded herself as she listened to the patter of feet scampering down the hallway.
“You’re supposed to be in bed,” she said tilting her head at her younger brother and sister as they appeared in the doorway.
“We know, but the thunder was so loud, we couldn’t sleep,” explained Nella. She practically jumped as the thunder crashed outside again, and Milo darted through the doorway jumping up beside Rebecca on the sofa. She wrapped her arm around her brother comfortingly before she sighed and motioned for her little sister to join them as well.
“Alright. You can stay here for just a little bit.” She scooted over to make room as she ruffled her little brother’s hair. “But there isn’t anything to be afraid of. It’s just a thunderstorm.”
“But why does it have to be so loud?” asked Milo whose tiny shoulders were shivering.
Rebecca’s brow furrowed thoughtfully but a smile twitched in the corners of her mouth as she teased, “Well…I think it’s kind of like when you and Nella disagree. The thunder is trying to talk to its big sister the lightning, but she isn’t listening so he thinks he needs to get louder and louder to get her attention.”
Milo and Nella giggled. At only five and seven respectively, Rebecca was sure they enjoyed a story much more than an actual explanation of the weather.
“But we’re never that scary though,” Milo insisted nestling into her side as the thunder boomed again, and Rebecca nodded.
“That’s true. Thunderstorms can be really scary sometimes. I bet Luca and Marco will be down here in a minute too.”
“No, they won’t,” said Nella with a shake of her head. “They’re bigger so they’re brave.”
Before Rebecca could say anything in rebuttal, however, there was another loud crash of thunder, and Luca and Marco scampered through the doorway. “See…” she said with a gentle, affectionate smile.
Seemingly noticing that their other siblings were all staring at them, Marco’s cheeks flushed pink, and Luca shuffled her feet almost sheepishly in the doorway before she stumbled, “I just…wanted to check to make sure that you all were alright…”
“Me too,” said Marco with a nod though he didn’t look up from the ground, and Rebecca stifled a laugh. It was almost endearing what terrible liars they were.
“Well now that you’re up, why don’t you come over here with the rest of us?” she suggested with a shrug of her shoulders, and she certainly didn’t have to ask them twice as, with another crack of thunder, they quickly piled onto the sofa.
“We’re just missing Pem,” Marco chuckled, and no sooner had he uttered these words than Pem began to cry. With an almost affectionate roll of her eyes, Rebecca went to fetch him from his crib.
Once she had returned and all of the Scarlet siblings were at last huddled together in the living room, Nella asked, “Can we sleep in here tonight? I don’t want to go back to my room.”
“Yeah,” said Marco with wide eyes, seemingly forgetting about pretending not to be frightened by the storm. “Can we, Rebecca?”
Rebecca hummed. “I don’t know…”
“Please!” they all begged in unison, and Rebecca sighed.
“Alright,” she conceded. “But we’re all going to end up sleeping on the floor you know…”
“We wouldn’t have to sleep on the floor…” suggested Luca with a tilt of her head and the twitch of a smile. “We could make a blanket fort.”
“A fort! A fort!” exclaimed Milo excitedly, practically bouncing up and down.
Marco slipped his hand into hers and stared up at her with excited, wide eyes. “Can we really build one, Rebecca? Can we?”
“Please,” Nella added with her biggest puppy-dog pout, and even Pem joined in with a pleading babbling and blinking eyes.
Rebecca shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t see why not,” she said to the exuberant shouts and giggles of her siblings who excitedly ran off to collect their pillows and blankets for the fort, seemingly forgetting all about the thunderstorm.
Once all the bedding had been shaped into their makeshift “fort” of sorts, Nella asked triumphantly, “What should we call it?”
“It could be a magic knight hideout,” suggested Luca. “And we could come up for with a name for our squad.”
“But that’s two names, Luca,” Milo insisted with almost a whine. Rebecca patted his back. He was clearly tired. Pem was as well and was drifting in and out of sleep in her arms, and Rebecca left for just a moment to put him Pem back to bed in his crib. She was sure he would have plenty of forts to play in when he got older.
When she returned, she found the discussion over the name of the fort was still underway.
“I don’t understand why we can’t name the fort after me,” argued Milo.
“Because it can’t just be named after you,” Luca insisted with a forceful frown and cross of her arms. “We all built it.”
“What if we named it Fort Scarlet?” suggested Marco gently. “Because that’s all our names.”
Rebecca ruffled his hair. “I think that’s a great name, Marco,” she said with a smile.
“Yeah! Fort Scarlet!” agreed her other siblings with a bright enthusiasm followed by more than a few yawns.
“Maybe we should go in and go to sleep,” Rebecca suggested with a light chuckle. No one argued—whether from the excitement of the fort or their own tiredness Rebecca wasn’t entirely sure but she was grateful.
With a thoughtful tilt of her head, Rebecca took a step back to admire their work. It wasn’t the most elaborate structure—just a few quilts draped over the sofa and the wooden chairs she and Luca had pushed over from the kitchen table—but as she watched the light and wonder in her little siblings’ eyes as they crawled inside, Rebecca knew that, to them, “Fort Scarlet” was even greater than they could’ve imagined.
“Come on, big sis,” said Marco as he turned around and reached out his hand to her to her with a smile. Rebecca took his hand and smiled back, crawling under the quilt roof herself. As curled up among the remaining blankets and pillows with her younger siblings, she imagined it as she was sure they saw it: a wonderful place, a mighty fortress, a beautiful castle and, perhaps most importantly, a safe haven—a home that not even the storm outside could weather. Although… Rebecca thought with a gentle, affectionate smile as she nestled in next to her little brothers and sisters, they didn’t need a fort for that—they had had it all along.

Made a new playlists. I love the idea of Ed continuing to hide under a blanket fort every time he and Stede get into a minor argument 😂. Do you think they even have blankets in that inn?
