I know the most popular ships for oxventure deadlands are Edie ships (b*untybelle, b*sonbelle, q*een of d*amonds <- censored so they don't appear in the tags of those ships) but I'd like to point out other oxventure deadlands ships that I think are good, silly, or (at least) interesting.
Silas x Garnet: I view them as a qpr. I think they'd playfight a lot and make fun of people/things together. They don't strike me as people who would enjoy or do pda. They keep their soft moments to themselves. They cuddle when they're alone and press their foreheads together instead of kissing. After a long day of work, they just flop next to the other and tell them about their day. Silas gives Garnet his duster if she's cold, and she pulls it close to her bc 1) it does keep her warm, and 2) it smells like Silas, and that's comforting to her.
Silas x Billie: The literally only m/m ship that's possible (unless you hc one of the girls as a trans dude). They'd have a cat and dog energy. Silas is very skeptical of Billie, and Billie just has heart eyes. Giant loud extrovert and his grumpy introvert.
Garnet x Billie: It's similar to b*sonbelle to me in the way that it's girlboss x malewife. Garnet is so cool, calm, and collected, while Billie is just so silly and passionate. They both have a background in entertainment with being a croupier and a performer. I think Billie would do something so stupid to impress Garnet, and she would just smile fondly. They'd probably relax by watching a movie that one of them likes, and one of them will infodump about it while the other listens lovingly.

The Connors Problem Chapter 4: The Shadow of a memory
“You can’t be serious.” Curt glanced at Y/N. Luckily, she was still asleep.
“I’m afraid it is true. I trust you with this information…you are me afterall.” Connors said as he glared at Max and Flint, hoping they couldn’t hear their conversation. Connors had pulled Curt under the table to try to protect them from unwanted ears.
“Just like two of us…one a lizard, one man…one a spider, one a woman…” Curt inferred.
“No Crap Sherlock! Had to make it obvious.” Connors growled.
“The sad part is that I have to say it like that for my students at the college! The only people who could understand me most of the time were Peter Parker, Gwen Stacey, and Connor-”
“You had a Peter and Gwen too?” Connors’ eyes widened.
“I did. I guess that makes sense, Connors…should I call you Connors…or Curt…or Curt 1…Curt 2…” Curt trailed off. This was an interesting predicament. It is understandable for there to be two Curts in a room…but two Curt Connors…who looked nothing alike…who somewhat don’t even share the same personality…were together…in one room…for what could be forever.
“Call me Connors…that’s what Y/N calls me.” The Lizard smiled.
“I’ll be Curt then I guess.” He returned the smile. Connors nodded, a sorrow falling over his face. Curt fiddled with the jacket he was wearing. A silence, an uncomfortable silence, fell over them. Curt looked over at Max. He was surprised that the very stuck up man had joined Randy and Sandman to play games. He could hear the three laughing in front of the T.V. He also saw that Norman and Otto were waking up from their encounter earlier.
“Can I ask you something?” Connors said. Curt turned his head.
“Of course.” His eyes met Connors.
“Your wife and kid…do you miss them? Even if one of them…left you?” Connors' eyes were swelling with tears.
Curt hesitated. It had been years since he had seen Martha and Billy.
“They left…7 years ago. I miss them…sometimes. I know I have to move on, but it’s so hard. The day they left it felt like my whole world fell apart. I had no one. Later, I thought Peter and Gwen were people who I cared about and who cared about me…but that wasn’t true. Peter changed and Gwen…she passed. To be true, I miss them more at this point. I hope Connor is okay. He was my prodigy…I hope he didn’t end up here.” Curt held his knees with his arm.
“I guess we're not as different as I thought.” Connors smiled, “Also you have a prodigy named ‘Connor’...Connors.” He laughed. Curt smiled and giggled. They smiled at each other.
“Why are you two under a table?” Randy asked. He had walked over to them while they were talking.
“We were playing hide and seek.” Curt climbed out from under the table. Randy looked confused.
"You guys are really bad at this game." He snickered and ran off to see Flint. Connors squeezed out from under the table. Curt turned to see Y/N being to stir awake.
“Should we tell her?” Curt asked.
“No.” Connors said firmly as he walked away towards the kitchen. Randy followed him. He kept jumping on his tail. Curt walked over to Flint and Max.
“Hey, guys!” Curt said. He sat on the floor next to them. Flint smiled at him.
“Nice of you to finally join us.” Flint remarked as he took the T.V. remote from Max. “He’ll be back, Dillion. I wouldn’t change it if I were you.” Max glared at him and electrically changed the channel himself.
“WHO CHANGED THE CHANNEL!!!!!” Randy screamed.
“I told you.” Flint said. Max changed the channel back as Y/N got off the couch.
“Good Morning, Y/N!” Curt greeted her. She still looked tired, but seeing how she had slept four hours or so was refreshing.
“Morning, Curt.” She smiled, “Is it still morning?” She asked. Curt shrugged and looked at Flint.
“Probably not.” Flint said finally.
“Gee thanks, anyways I have to see if Peter is ready to pick you guys up.” She got out her phone checking text messages. Connors in the kitchen turned his head at her words. Flint frowned as Max shocked Randy a little. Curt was fascinated with meeting this other Peter Parker, but was more worried about the other versions of everybody else.
“Does he know about me?” Curt asked suddenly. He covered his mouth a little as if he hadn;t meant to say that.
“No, not yet. It was a hectic morning. He seems to need more time. I guess one more night won’t hurt us.” She remarked and got up to go to the kitchen.
“WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED OVER HERE!!!!” She suddenly shouted. She had noticed the pile of super villains caught in a web.
“Oh that…” Curt trailed off.
“That was the result of a revolt from two masterminds.” Connors emerged from the kitchen. Y/N raised an eyebrow as he came closer. Something was wrong and of course it happened while she was asleep.
                                                                            *
Why in the world did this have to happen? I had not expected them to fight so quickly. The summary they told me was…interesting. But I still was happy that Billy was okay. He was luckily saved by Peter. After that I had to clear my mind a bit. I told them I was going for a walk and that I wanted Norman and Co to be dealt with. I hadn’t expected to be gone so long. Especially since everything that could go wrong did. First off…
“Well if it isn’t my old friend?” A man in a long dark purple coat said. He smiled as he came closer to me.
“Who are you?” I asked. I was nervous but tried not to show it. He wasn’t that menacing. He didn’t look strong. He mostly looked like a rip off version of Dr. Octavius minus the tentacles of course and his brown combed over hair.
“You really don’t remember me?” He asked with a sly grin. Shadows danced around him. We were in the middle of the street. News stations surrounded us.
“Why would I remember you? I mean if I did, I’m sure I would remember someone like you!” I snapped. To be fair I was really tired. I had almost no sleep, there were super villains in my house, and now this random super powered guy wanted to pick a bone.
“Well, my name is Contour Hues.” He smirked, “But you may know me by Connor Hughes.”
I froze. Connor? My old friend, but how could he be here? He was…
“Do you have a reason for being here?” Connors growled as he jumped off the side of a building in front of me. He looked back at me and smiled. “Hi.” He said.
“Hi?” I replied.
“How pathetic. You of all people Y/N need a bodyguard?” Connor remarked.
“I’m no bodyguard. I’m the next step in human evolution.” The lizard smirked.
“What?” Connor replied.
“It means I'm a distraction.” The lizard laughed.
Suddenly Sandman appeared punching Connor with a sandy fist. Max smiled as he shot electricity at Connor. I was shocked (no pun intended) at what I was seeing. Though the victory was short lived as Connor suddenly let out a burst of energy all around him. Max was shot back against a building as Sandman lost his solid form. Connor’s eyes were glowing purple as he looked at me. I had never seen him this mad…nor had I ever remember seeing him this mad. I saw Connors look at the top of a building. Another purple figure stood atop the building with what I thought was a boy. Billy? But it couldn’t be. He was with Peter. Whoever it was was not a threat to Connors at least. He charged at him fighting against a shadow beam that Connor shot at him. He rammed into him, pinning him to the ground. Connor struggled at first before saying…
“Dr Connors?” He said.
“How do you know my name?” The Lizard accused.
“I’m very lost it seems.” Connor replied as he looked at the ledge where the purple figure stood with the boy. “I messed up.”
“Huh?” The lizard replied. I stood there astonished. More versions of Curt, another version of Connor, and maybe even another version…of me? This was starting to get confusing. The Lizard let go of Connor who looked at me.
“I’ve missed you.” He said to me,
“I missed you too.” I smiled. He stood up and hugged me, believe it or not. I wondered if Peter knew about all that was happening, but I couldn’t even bring myself to leave Connor’s grasp. There was something I never told people about Connor. I mostly tried to avoid talking about him. I let go of Connor. He wasn’t the Connor from my universe…but he was the closest thing I had.
“I wish I could stay with you both…but there is someone I have to talk to. Two people actually. I will keep in touch as much as possible. For now I will keep an eye out for anybody else who found their way here.” He smiled.
“You’re leaving already?” The lizard asked, “You just tried to kill us and now you’re on our side?”
“Don’t be so serious. It could be the death of you.” He smiled.
I looked at the Lizard. “Our side?” I smirked.
“Oh shut up.” He growled. Connor nodded at the two of us before he ran off onwards the purple figure. I had many questions to ask Connors…but I was silent. I just saw someone I haven’t seen in years. This was the second time ever that I had to watch him leave again.

Flint x Reader Hurt Oneshot
Good lord I had this short story in my grammery for a long time. X'D
Anyway hope you like this folks. I'm trying to get my groove back on writing these stuff. I miss doing them :')
And as always sorry if you see any grammer errors.
Tumblr media
“What the hell happened?!” You’ve gotten used to Flint’s temper after living with him for a while now. This time, however, he was yelling at his crew member after getting hurt from doing something stupid.
And oh man, this is probably the new record on his wrath that made your heart beat out of fright.
And also your wound wasn’t too bad. It was only a scratch on your palm. Not too long ago, you wanted to try that dagger trick after you saw someone performing it on the street.
But you accidentally cut yourself after your feet stumbled and grabbed the blades instead of the handle.
“S-sir we kept an eye on 'er!” One crew protested. "And to be fair cap'n, she wanted to perform this stunt. We didn't make 'er do it!"
"Is that so?" You saw him look at you coldly which made you bite your lips holding your hand where the wounded were.
He exhales his nostril in irritation and turns his men, mostly at his first mate, Billy. "Take 'em to my ship. I'll be there shortly."
"Aye, sir!" Billy replied. Then the Captain turns to you and grabs your arm.
"You and I going have a little talk on yer act," With that, you and he walked away from the crew. When you and he are alone in the dark ally he speaks lowly.
"Let me see yer hand,"
At first, your instinct tells you not to. Since you are afraid of what he’ll say or do to you. Then you hear your captain repeat in a strict tone.
“Let. Me. See. Yer. Hand.”
You show your wound nervously and you watch him examine it carefully. After about a few seconds he lets out a frustrated sigh.
“Just what the hell were ye thinkin'?”
You lowered your head in embarrassment.
“It’s only a scratch,” You muttered.
“But that stunt could’ve gotten yourself killed ye know that?!” Flint almost shouts.
You flinch and manage to reply. “I know it was stupid.” You added while trying not to sound afraid. “I just. I only want to impress your men that’s all.”
In the corner of your eyes, you watch him shake his head and take a few breaths silently to calm himself. You then feel your chin gently lift and your face is looking at his.
His face was now a hint of worrying that he never showed this side to his crew. He also was on his knees so you can see his face better.
“ Lass you don’t need to show your impression on my men. Since you joined my crew ye been improved your strength and agility. That dumb stunt is never the bonus. My men and I were already impressed with your skills lass." He brushes your cheeks with his thumb-bony finger and finishes.
" And what impresses me more is your improvement over a month living on my ship,"
You felt your cheeks almost blush at his compliment on your endurance living on his ship. But then your face made a frown when your Captain said this.
"And from now on no more handling daggers unless yer supervised. “
“Then how am I going to defend myself without one?” You asked. Feeling upset you can’t have one after that stunt.
“That until you be taught how to handle it properly.” As he spoke he took out his ray cloth from his coat pocket and wrapped it around your palm to stop the bleeding.
“Now promise me you'll follow this order, for yer safe sake.” He looked at you long and you made a silent huff, looking down with disappointment.
Y/N." He spoke sternly.
"Okay fine I promise, swear to pirate code," You gave in. Not because of his tone. More of there's no point in arguing with him. You felt it wouldn't change anything the more you tried to argue with him.
Also, you want to be done with this situation. You were embarrassed enough by that dagger stunt. Instead, you muttered for him to hear.
"Can we go back now Captain?" You hear him make a slight chuckle and begins to lead you back to his ship. While on the way he spoke lowly.
"Once ye handle some daggers properly, I can perhaps give ya a few tricks of mine."
"And how long that'll be until?" You asked, looking up at him.
"A year."
"A year?" You almost laugh. "Come on can you give me a month?"
"No,"
"Please?" You did your best giving a puppy pleading, thanks to B.E.N. showing you how to do it. You watch him avoiding your gaze and he clinches his teeth in frustration.
Soon he rolled all his eyes, "Remind me to punish B.E.N. on teaching ye how to beg when we get back.
"So is that a yes?" You grinned.
He snorted. "Maybe." That made your hope up, knowing he'll change his mind once you and him are on his ship...or as he puts it. Maybe.

The reason I keep watching this show even though I hate the protagonist popular blorbo so much is (a) James Flint, Anne Bonny and Max as well as the things that men do and say for Charles Vane, (b) because the protagonist isn't in it all that much but also (c) the show lays out clearly the reason I dislike this character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah. This is very boring to me. Any character that is this - no one from nowhere? I have a brick-wall block from investing in them. At all. I take it that it stays like this whole time for John Silver. Yawn x 1,000. This is a fictional trope I find never less than lazy, uncreative & cowardly. COME UP WITH SOMETHING, MAKERS.
And then there's the fact that he's a conman. I learned in the most unexpected way that I can find it in myself to be invested / stay interested in all manner of evil doers, but I cannot get behind conmen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh and then there's the endless lying:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That wasn't you, that was Billy Bones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That wasn't you, that was James Flint.
Ugh he puts me in SUCH a bad mood every time he does or says anything.

ROUND 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SUMMARY
[LEFT] X. (2.02) — A member of the Walrus crew unexpectedly returns, but finds himself cruelly tethered down on a beach. Flint, still stuck in the bowels of the ship, sets his plan in motion to become a captain in two days' time by offering advice to Dufresne on a certain route to navigate the galleon through. Meanwhile, Silver tries to make himself indispensable to his crewmates by reading them gossip that the quiet cook Randall witnesses daily aboard the ship. Meeks asks Eleanor to dispose of his captain, Ned Low since his unquenchable thirst for power is causing the crew to be reckless. After Jack learns about the intimate encounter between Max and Anne, he accepts it and later proposes his next money-making scheme with them.
[RIGHT] XXXV. (4.07) — Freed slaves from all over New Providence gather at the hidden village of the Maroons as they plan how to take control of Nassau. Governor Rogers finds out that Eleanor was pregnant before she died. Jack and crew head to Philadelphia to enlist the help of Eleanor's grandfather, who doesn't react to their news as anticipated. Black Sails X review (S2E2)
Spoilers for up to and including E10.
"Strange pairs, Lieutenant, they can achieve the most unexpected things."- Thomas Hamilton
Billy's back! I mean, he's being tortured, but he is still technically back. Unfortunately, because my brain only ever wants to cause me pain, my first thought was of what he's going to go through when he finds out Gates is dead.
We go from that awful biblical torture, to Thomas Hamilton reading the Bible (I want to say Genesis, but I truly know so little about it), and I'll get to the flashbacks later but the way the camera pans over to Flint as Thomas reads "it is not good that he is alone" just breaks my heart.
Anyway, first to Nassau, where shit's getting real. Ned Low's quartermaster is mad at him because he did massively fuck up with the blood on the crates and all that, but Low's violent, vulgar humour and whatever the hell that personality is has somehow won over his men. It's a bit like the season 1 Flint/Gates dynamic, in that Low has convinced his men to go along with his bullshit under the promise of some kind of passive payout, while painting the logical quartermaster as some kind of villains for pointing out flaws in the plan. In this situation, however, the captain seems to be completely irredemable and his plan for massive riches is to endanger and exploit a teenage girl. It's a much harder sell for the audience than attacking an empire. Missing the support of his crew, Meeks seeks support from Eleanor, who is less than happy about her reputation as someone who "(deposes) captains", given what it did to her the last time she did it. I mean, as it was with Vane, it would probably be a good idea to get rid of Low, just on the basis of him being kind of evil and also a massive dickhead, but, again, looking at where Vane is now, I can see why she wouldn't want to risk it. Speaking of Vane, he has somehow been talked into attending the consortium meetings, even if all he does during them is smoke and look general detached from everything. Baby steps, I guess.
Vane's attendence is the only thing that's going well for Eleanor and the consortium, though. The whole shipping plan that was presented as the solution to everything last season is barely working, and, even worse for Eleanor, it's her family name that's the problem. Vane's reputation is proving useful, but, as he (at least feels that he) holds all the power, it's down to him to decide whether Eleanor and her consortium can coninue to hold any power in Nassau, which is not ideal, because he's unreliable at best. Still, he's not entirely wrong when he refers to Eleanor as "a tyrant too weak to enforce her own tyranny". It's a harsh interpretation, sure, but it's not necessarily fully incorrect. Maybe it's this accusation of weakness that pushes her to take a harder stance with Ned Low. That was probably a bad place to start, though, because that man does not care about anything and angering him only results in further violence. Like, a lot of violence.
This level of violence is probably what causes Eleanor to relent and go to Vane for help. She knows that she can't appeal to him with her power, as he's already expressed his disdain for her "tyranny", so she appeals to his "concern" for her. Honestly, these two just keep making each other worse, but maybe if Ned Low's downfall can be brought about as a result of their dysfunctional relationship, maybe it's worth it. And then there's the "prize" Eleanor mentions. Poor Abigail Ashe.
And while violent shit is going down at Eleanor's bar thing, soft, romantic shit is going down at the brothel. I love this plotline so much-- the way it shows Anne slowly coming to terms with her sexuality and processing what it means for her and Jack is just so well-done in all its complexity and,,, emotion. Oh god I love them all so much. This is also possibly the first relationship in the show that is portrayed in a genuinely romantic way, and it's a sapphic relationship, which is one of the many reasons I love this show. It would also have been so easy to just take this whole Anne/Max/Jack dynamic and just put Jack in the role of jealous boyfriend and portray Anne and Max's relationship as just cheating, but my beloved Black Sails had better plans than that. Instead, we show Anne's internal conflict between her feelings for Jack and what she feels she owes him and her feelings for Max-- ones she probably hasn't let herself acknowledge before. Similarly, we all know by now that Jack isn't the kind of person to cause a massive scene and confront the other two, nor does he necessarily even want to. Instead, he just turns up to talk about his business plans. I mean, those are some good ideas, but there's a time and a place. They could also have had Jack go down the route of just completely ignoring the relationship, diminishing the importance/significance of sapphic relationships, but instead we get his wonderful reaction: "Darling, I can understand why you wouldn't want to tell me about this, but please know that all I have ever wanted is for you to be happy. Come to bed when you're through." Just everything about it, from the tenderness of the darling, to the acknowledgement of the conflict Anne must be feeling, and the way his love for her just radiates off him. I don't think I've ever loved Jack (or Anne for that matter) as much as in this moment.
Now to the Walrus crew (technically not on the Walrus but I can't be asked to differentiate at this point). Our unlikely couple are finally getting their shit together and making each other worse. Silver is still asserting that he does not want to be a pirate, and is simply sticking with the crew for the sake of Flint's get rich quick scheme. Flint is so committed to being a pirate that he's going to take down the british empire... somehow. These two are obviously going to work so well together. Both of them are using manipulation as their tactic of choice, but on different levels. Flint knows what he wants and goes directly for leadership. He starts with a slightly misguided attempt at small talk about books with Dufresne (he's so me fr), then turns the conversation into a confession, as if he believes that he can convince Dufresne that he's really really sorry and then Dufresne will just let him be captain again. Don't get me wrong, I do believe Flint when he says the guilt is killing him, but I just don't thing D is the best audience for this. Flint also knows this, as he (maybe) goes for a different tactic. It's never made explicit whether Flint meant to deceive or advise Dufresne. I'm sure his intentions weren't purely to help Dufresne, but he might have genuinely been advising Dufresne for the reasons he believed-- that if Dufresne had successfully taken a prize, his position would have been much more secure. I think it's much like the scene with Billy, neither we nor, possibly, Flint, know what his intentions were. Either way, Dufresne goes ahead with Flint's idea, one that De Groot approves of from a sailing perspective, which really says something about Flint's talent not just as a leader of men, but as a sailor. It really makes you think about what would have happened had he not had to leave London for whatever those reasons were.
As Dufresne's mission to capture a merchant ship goes on, it becomes harder to believe that Flint has the crew's best interests at heart. He narrates the whole thing to Silver and clearly knows what Dufresne should be doing, but makes no effor to advise him on this. As a result, the attack quickly goes downhill. Dufresne also runs into another problem-- aside from his lack of experience-- which is that he doesn't have Flint's notoriety and nor does he have the charisma to make up for it. It's probably this that tips the merchant captain off and gives him the confidence to call for his crew to resist. Then Dufresne's lack of experience also comes through as he doesn't know how to handle the crew in such a situation. Controlling a crew under fortunate circumstances is one thing, but, as we've seen with Flint, retaining their loyalty under hardship and chaos is something else entirely. Dufresne took control of the Walrus crew after a patch of difficulty under Flint, then found fortune under his time as leader but, as soon as he has to deal with something like this, he crumbles. As Mr Logan points out "no one is in fucking charge" on the ship-- Dufresne is too stubborn to give up on a mission that the rest of the crew have lost faith in, De Groot, voice of wisdom though he may be, doesn't hold much authority as a leader, and Flint is still disgraced. Ultimately, Flint is essentially decided as the best option, helped by his willingness to immediately order an effective retreat. Then he heads off to the captain's quarters with all the confidence in the world. The vote hasn't even happened yet, but he knows how to lead well enough to know exactly what he's just done.
At the end of the day, he's still nice to Dufresne, reassuring him that the vote was close-- Flint isn't the type to gloat, at least not in such an over way, and Dufresne could still be a powerful ally. And, most importantly, Flint has a new jacket.
Silver, meanwhile, is taking a different approach to winning back his position on the crew. Honestly, this showcases what I love about S1/2 Silver: he's scrappy. He's not necessarily inherently a team player, but he knows how to work with and against people to ensure his own survival, and, unlike (sorry) Flint, he does it in such an entertaining way that he also ensures that he's well-liked. Flint, god bless his autistic heart, has absolutely no idea what the hell Silver is playing at, and Silver gives him some kind of story about his past. Now, given Silver's track record of lying his ass off, we have no idea whether or not this is true, but, regardless, it's the only insight we've got into his life pre-merchant vessel. Honestly, it doesn't tell us a whole lot that we don't know-- well-off men were rarely conscripted onto merchant vessels as crew members-- but it still fleshes out the sense of powerlessness and potential tragedy in Silver's past. Either way, as the days go by, Silver's ploy of playing the men off against each other starts yielding some results, and, as Flint-- who he has formed an uneasy alliance with-- comes back into power, his survival becomes almost guaranteed.
And now we get more London flashabcks, i.e. backstory of Flint's previous unlikely partnership. In this partnership, however, Flint/McGraw is the realist, and Thomas is the dreamer. He's the one who tells McGraw that, in approaching Nassau, he should forget the pirates. Sure, he's not necessarily wrong in framing piracy as a symptom of a wider issue, but very few men, let alone members of the nobility, would have had the optimism and insight to take that approach. McGraw still tries to point out the flaws in the rest of the plan, listing the extensive resources that would be needed to establish stability on Nassau, and still Thomas is unfazed. I'm not sure whether he's being incredily smart or incredibly stupid about this, but honestly I support him.
Then we get a little insight into the other side of McGraw's life-- his relationships within the navy. It's clear that Admiral Hennesy holds him in some regard, and sees his potential (honestly, he's giving father-figure vibes in this scene, not necessarily good ones though), but, because of his class status, his peers don't hold him in that level of regard. This is yet another problem with the empire/civilisation that we haven't explored much yet, but classism is clearly a massive problem in both James' life and British society as a whole. Then, as the taunting continues, we see what we recognise as Flint's kind of passion and violence arise in McGraw, and a fight breaks out. Hell, he even looks more like the man we know as Flint as he gets roughed up and even gets some blood on him (a key aspect of Flint's appearance). I don't blame him for reacting, but Hennesy isn't wrong when he expresses about "the thing that arises in (James) when passions are aroused [where] ... good sense escaped [him]", and what it could become when "exposed to extremes", which we have already seen with Gates, and which I can't help but think is going to make some kind of comeback in episodes to come.

Flint x shapeshifter!Reader headcanons
(Part 1? Idk)
-alright, what you did was an accident
-for a shapeshifter to take form, the person you shift into kinda as to be… deceased, killed by your own hands
-you DIDN'T mean to kill one of Flint’s most trusted, it just HAPPENED. It wasn’t your fault the pirate snuck up on you and you had a gun, you were skittish. That guy should learn not to sneak up on people.
-after you ACCIDENTALLY “offed” the guy, the tried to sneak away, but another pirate- Billy Bones, found you, and mistook you for the actual guy.
-turns out the guy was a cook, and a cleaner, a violent one at that, from what you gathered as a lot of the other pirates were scared off you. That didn’t stop the higher ups from picking on you.
-you tried to play it safe, but it wasn’t long till everyone started noticing that something was wrong. You were a terrible cook, I’m sorry, they immediately knew something was off.
-when they do find out, the entire crew FREAKS
-you have to reassure them you’re not a siren, a ghost, a witch, or a demon, MULTIPLE TIMES
-Flint doesn’t kill you (yet)
-when the question of “so what happened to our actual cook?” You have to explain the shapeshifting basics
-they’re a bit surprised. Compared to them, you are a scrawny lil fella

Ok, rapid fire immediate thoughts on the ending, in no particular order:
Featherstone got to be governor??? Awesome! Also I am so fucking relieved that everything seems to have worked out for Jack x Anne x Max in Nassau. I needed at least one optimistic ending
Really fitting that Jack and Anne get to keep being pirates because they were often the most into simply being famous boat-based criminals vs pirates as metaphor or resistance movement
Seeing that pirate at the end like... Are they throwing in a Mary Read? They ARE!!!
SilverMadi WHOO BOY. That confrontation. The way she couldn't even LOOK at him. Flint was fucking right dude she will never forgive you, and that shot on the cliff (paralleling SilverFlint cliff shots!) still did not look happy. Even if she does love him enough to stay with him there is a crack there FOREVER
The SilverFlint confrontation in the woods though... That was fucking agonizing to watch. Too many thoughts. Moving on.
I am so glad that Jack and Flint got to tag team taking out Woodes Rogers instead of just knocking Jack aside so the main characters could wrap up. He deserved that
Charles Vane deserved his bestie taking down his killer
Also Jack deserved getting to write that affidavit 💕
FLINT 😭💔😭💔😭💔
Silver you sent your soulmate to lifelong imprisonment in a work camp for being a radical leftist terrorist. Like that is what happened. His radical leftist love being there doesn't change that they are in prison. For life.
"A story is true. A story is not true." Silver talked Flint into returning to Thomas. Silver killed Flint and is gonna lie so hard he believes it himself.
Seriously they did a GREAT job of making the Thomas timeline so tight as to be nearly unbelievable but still possible
Also - Madi - good on you for realizing he was making exit contingencies so early. Did Silver even realize that's what he was doing, though? Or was he just getting the Thomas info to decide how best to use it.
Loved the detail with the cook. Past vs Present HELLO
Billy stranded on Skull Island? I've never actually read Treasure Island so I thought I knew Billy would survive the story but end up sailing for Silver? Guessing that was NOT true lol
Also Billy. My dude. I liked you. I really did. But what the fuck was that traitor arc? Glad you seemed to be having some kind of guilty mental breakdown about it because MY DUDE???
Good show. 😵‍💫 Good show.
That theme song fucked as hard on the final watch as it did on the first one 🫡🏴‍☠️

Billy grunted as he leaned the ladder against the wall, stepping up the first prong to test the sturdiness. Seeing that it held his weight he climbed higher, closer to the moving vines and tendrils on the ceiling. He prodded at one with his finger and it retreated into the centre of the slash, so he prodded at a couple more until the opening was clearer, the goop narrowly missing his eye. The bright light from above shone in his eyes and he had to shield them from the sunlight that had been shining through the windowpanes of the same trailer above him.
“See anything?”
“Get up here.”
“Why me?” Chrissy asked, flinching slightly as he raised his voice.
“Do you want your ass saved or not, Cunningham? Get the fuck up here right now!” He uttered loudly as he descended. “Here, take my hand.”
Billy extended his hand out to her and kept her steady as she ascended the metal prongs. As she stuck a hand through the slash, it began to expand and retract, more so as she tried pushing her way through it, the slimy residue sticking to her skin like glue to paper. She squeezed her eyes shut as she tried pulling the rest of her body up, her hands firmly against the trailer ceiling, her heart dropping as she noticed something levitating in the air.
Her own body, dangling from the ceiling, inches away from her face. She swallowed down a lump in her throat and tried to stop the color draining from her pale face.
“Chrissy? Chrissy! Chrissy, wake up! I don’t like this!”
Chrissy reached out as far as she could while still holding onto the ladder and Billy’s hands, which he had outstretched his arms and kept his hands up to attempt to steady her movements. She yelped as she saw her body moving, her bones cracking, and Eddie screaming beneath her. And then she saw her left leg beginning to move by itself.
As Chrissy’s left foot squeezed through the opening, you noticed a burning sensation in the right side of your neck that hadn’t been there before. Bristles of flint brushed rigidly against steel and set your body alight, burning you from the inside out.
Then you remembered what had happened to you. What Papa had done to you.
“Get me a knife, or something. Something sharp” you ordered, wincing in pain as you tried to get the tiny piece of metal, or whatever it was, as close to your first layers of skin as possible.
“Why?”
This “gate” had another meaning, it seemed. Almost like an electromagnetic field that all compasses would point towards when charged, or opened, and all metal near it would be electrified. “Get me a knife and a wooden spoon, Hargrove!”
“Jesus, alright!” He groused, grabbing the nearest knife and spoon handing the wooden utensil to you.
You stuck the handle of the spoon between your teeth, grabbing Billy’s hand to pull him closer to you. “You’re taking this sucker out of my neck, got it? Slit the skin and root around to find it, and I’ll bite down on this spoon.”
He blinked rapidly, looking at you like you were insane, as if he wasn’t out of his mind himself. Yes, your plan sounded insane but what did you have to lose?
“What the fuck, Y/N?! I’m not doing that! I’ll… I’ll fucking kill you!”
“Oh please. It’s our only hope at getting Chrissy and ourselves out of here alive!”
He swore under his breath, squeezing his eyes shut as he pressed the blade to your neck, the electromagnetism causing the metal blade to become charged. Dangerous, but it would have to do.
“Get a move on, we don’t have much time!”
“Alright, alright, I’m doing it.”
Meanwhile, Chrissy was hanging from the ceiling, holding onto one of the vines by the slash for dear life, holding in her screams as she watched her own leg break. She looked down, being met with the cute metalhead from school that ran the Dungeons & Dragons club; Hellfire. He currently had his back pressed up against the nearest wall to him, the same knife in his hand Billy was using to retrieve the piece of metal from inside your neck, undeniable fear written all over his pretty face.
Chrissy let go of the vine, dropping onto the floor and landing on her feet, somehow. With newfound determination she ran up to her own body and jumped, trying to pull herself down by wrapping her arms around her waist, to no avail. She groaned in annoyance as that didn’t work.
Eddie couldn’t see Chrissy, too afraid to move as he might find himself receiving the same fate as she did, so he didn’t see her peeking her head back into the other world to ask for more help. You sighed, clambering up the ladder to stick your right hand and head through the portal, blood rushing to your head and out of your neck as you hung upside down.
You stuck your hand out, energy rushing from your mind to your fingertips, the blood rushing from your head now travelling to your nose and ears as you fought to lower her body back to the ground so her soul could reunite with her corpse. She gave you a thankful smile, tears of joy falling from her bright blue eyes, laying on the ground next to her soul-less corpse.
“How did you do that?!”
“Magic,” you shrugged, sending her an encouraging smile, wiping a drip of blood from your nose, desperately trying to ignore the excruciating pain in your neck.
Chrissy prodded at her own lips with her fingertips, letting her digits slip over her tongue, down her throat, through her veins and into her heart, the rest of her body getting sucked in with it. The squelching noises had become almost unbearable, but if she had a second chance at life she would be more than content to listen to anything and never, ever complain.
And before long she began to feel a sharp pain in her right leg, agonizing, the one she always landed on when doing her acrobatics for her cheerleading performances. Her pride and joy.
Shit.
Chrissy gasped, clutching her neck as she sat up abruptly, sitting to face Eddie, who’s already pale face grew white as a ghost. Chrissy dragged herself over to sit next to him as he slumped over, catching him in her arms before he could potentially hurt his head from the fall.
“Oh my God, Eddie? Eddie… Can you hear me? Wake up, Eddie! I’m okay, I’m here now. I’m back. Eddie? Eddie, can you hear...?”
The sound of ocean waves crashing against the face of a cliff played on a loop in Eddie’s mind as he began to regain his consciousness, his hand reaching up to rub away some of the pressure on his forehead as an angel sat before him in an uncomfortable position. Princess Chrissy Cunningham, sent from the heavens to rescue Eddie The Banished from the sinister, satanic Cult of Vecna before it was too late—
Wake up, you idiot.
Breathe. In and out, and in again.
And exhale.
In and out.
In and out.
In…
And out.
This was just a dream.
Fucking hell; a pain shot right through his chest as Chrissy’s clenched fist made contact with his chest just like Billy had done with her, putting pressure on his fragile sternum and ribcage as he opened his eyes.
“Eddie?” The girl cried out, hiding her blotchy face in the crook of his neck, lacing her fingers with his, squeezing once.
She woke up. And so did he.
“Chrissy?” He whimpered in pain, maneuvering his body to be even nearer to hers. “Oh my god, don’t scare me like that again!”
Chrissy dragged her gaze from the floor up to meet his beautiful, deep brown eyes, her own eyes glazing over with tears of relief. “Is it really you?”
You sighed, clambering down the ladder. “This feels… strange.”
“What, because they’re both alive and we’re not?”
“Mhm,” you nodded, feeling your throat beginning to swell as your emotions banged against your tear ducts, threatening to escape at any given second. “And we’re stuck here watching them being all in love, and neither of us can do that because we’re dead.”
It felt like a sick joke, or a hallucination, like you could wake up in Peter’s arms at any given second and he’d tell you everything was going to be okay.
“At least we’re not alone here, Y/N. We have each other,” he said, slinging a protective arm around your shoulders that was for both comfort and for his own support. He didn’t want to let you know, but he felt like his knees could give in at any given moment and the sensation of never ending falling could commence again.
You were about to respond, when the male voice from up above clouded your mind. “It’s really me— God, what happened to your leg? Did that happen when I passed out?”
Did Eddie forget what happened already? Or maybe he was in denial, pushing the fact that his crush since sophomore year almost died in front of him in his trailer to the back of his mind.
Chrissy sighed, pulling herself up to sit her back against the cupboard part of the kitchen counter, and Eddie mirrored her movements, sitting next to her, tapping his shoes off each other as he moved his feet from side to side out of habit. She flinched as his fingers made contact with the most tender part of the internal wound on her leg. Broken bones, more than likely.
She craned her neck to look up at the ceiling, watching in horror as the tendrils began to retreat back into the alternate dimension, the ceiling repairing itself, sealing you and Billy inside for good. Shit.
Your heart pounded as you looked up, crashing into something rock hard as you backed away, feeling Billy’s arms wrap around your waist from behind.
“It’s okay, doll. We’ll find another way out of here. I promise.”
From above, you could still hear Chrissy’s shaky voice. “Yes, it happened when you passed out, Eds,” she lied, not wanting to have to explain everything, he would never believe her.
Nobody would ever believe her, especially not Jason or any of the boys on the basketball team or the cheer squad. Even Lucas Sinclair, Hawkin’s brightest male student, who gave everybody the benefit of the doubt.
But he was the only boy she fully trusted, even though he was a grade below her she felt closer to him than any of her friends in the same classes as her. Just never in school.
Lucas was her only hope.
She knew he played Dungeons and Dragons with Eddie but swore to secrecy she wouldn’t tell anyone, and she kept that promise. He would be able to return the favour of keeping a secret, right?
Chrissy looked outside the window, peering through the shutters to see the sun beginning to set in the distance, the sky red, pink and yellow. Almost time for her to be home. She didn’t have long to get to Lucas’ and back before that time; 10pm sharp for tea.
“Think I could make it to Lucas’ house before the sun sets?” She asked, avoiding eye contact. “I um…”
Eddie’s brows furrowed.
“I could hop, or something,” she continued.
“Hot date?” Eddie teased, nudging her side with his elbow, though he stopped when her usual bright smile didn’t show itself. “Let me take you, you can’t be walking around with a limp, you’ll hurt yourself too much.”
He hated this. Hated seeing her scared. Putting her feelings before his own as a need to tend to her more since what had happened happened to her and not him. And he wouldn’t let it happen again. And… a date… with Sinclair? How in the world did Lucas manage to build up that much courage to ask her? Eddie himself could barely even ask for a pencil, let alone asking a girl on a date; though he knew they would all reject him and laugh in his face anyhow.
Maybe it was to get over Maxine? Though it was out of character for Lucas to move on that quickly, and with how vulnerable Max was after her step-brother’s death, Lucas wouldn’t leave her in cold blood. Not yet.
So Eddie still had a chance with the girl of his dreams.
“Thank you, Eddie, really.”
“No worries,” he started, grabbing the keys to his van, leading the girl to the front door.
He ignored the stare of somebody across the park with a dog as he helped Chrissy into the van, driving off almost as soon as he hopped into the driver’s seat.
“You might wanna hold on tight to your seat, sweetheart. I drive fast.”
You heard the engine of the van revving before it drove away from above, and you sighed, throwing yourself back down onto the bed. Billy lay down next to you, his chest heaving as he placed his hands behind his head. You couldn’t help yourself, dragging your gaze down his chest and stomach, slick with sweat. The only other bodies you’d seen before had been covered by white suits and white gowns like your own, so this sight was new.
And what a sight for sore eyes.
You couldn’t decide whether you preferred seeing boys with or without shirts on, but Billy helped by snapping you out of your thoughts.
“Like what you see, doll?”
Would you tell the truth and risk boosting his already sky high ego even more? No way. So you just shrugged and sat up on the edge of the bed.
“How do you get your body like that?”
“I work out,” he replied, rolling over to face you.
“Work out?”
“I lift heavy things, doll. Makes me strong.”
Chrissy’s words from above rapidly circled your mind. Who was Lucas Sinclair? Why did ‘Eddie’ sound so offended? Was this really a date or did Chrissy just want to get out of a study session from hell. But if she did, she would have stayed in this dimension with you and Billy…
“What’s on your mind?
“Do you know who Lucas Sinclair is?” You asked, and his face scrunched up like he just bit into the most sour of lemons. “Chrissy mentioned him when she was up there. Said she’s going to tell him what happened. Did you know him?”
“He’s my step-sister, Max’s, boyfriend,” he said, shuddering at the thought, and you wondered why. “If he even deserves that title.”
What could Lucas have done to Max to make Billy this upset and angry?
“But he’s not important right now. What’s more important is us finding another way out of here. If those slashes appear wherever the thing that happened to Chrissy happens, I know a place we can go to get things so we can go to a place where something like that also happened.”
“Where is that?”
“Brimborn Steel Works… where… I got possessed,” he revealed, taking your hands in his. “We can’t waste any time. I’m going to take you to where I remember Nancy Wheeler’s house being, we’re going to take her bikes and we’re going to go to Brimborn or anywhere we can to find a way out of here.”
You tightened your grip in his hand as he practically dragged you out the door, and he began running.
“Shit. Hargrove, wait!” You shouted, running after him, but as you caught your breath, you looked at your surrounding area;
He was gone.

More Marvel X DC
Here's the first one.
I had more ideas, after all! But first a correction: Darkseid and the Yellow Lantern Corps are both DC, so I cannot mash them up. I mean, I could, but it feels wrong. I miscounted, and will be more careful in the future. Revoked!
So instead Darkseid, or more accurately Apokolips, will be Galactus. The world roams around, the fire pits are thrusters, and it invades and consumes other worlds. Like Mortal Engines, but there's only the one. And it's a planet.
Could also have the implication Galactus sometimes has, that its existence is somehow metaphysically important for the well-being of the universe, even if it comes at such a high price.
Clark Kent is Spider-man. Ace reporter, Kansas farmboy, you know him. But he's secretly also the last survivor of planet Spider, sent by his father aboard his secret, illegal spaceship/combat platform, Leopardon, which he keeps in the Arctic.
With that I suppose this isn't a pure comics mashup anymore. I'm okay with that.
Cindy Moon is Lex Luthor. But it's the evil Cindy, from Spider-Gwen's universe. Her name is Luna Luthor, her company is Silk Corp, and her attempt to create an artificial Spider-man was mostly a failure, but one sample was lost, eventually becoming the goop that would then become Gwen's suit.
Peter Parker was the Joker. When Star-spider started heroing, he wanted to also be a hero, brewed up a serum that should give him powers, but it destroyed his sanity and he became a villain instead. She fought him and killed him, and then he transformed back, thereby giving her the requisite spider-guilt.
Also because I just like spiders, both Miguel O'Hara and Peni Parker are members of the Legion of Superheroes. Though her name is now Peni Drew, after the original Spider-woman, who I think won't otherwise appear. Also also, the future company they both work for is a distant descendant of Silk Corp; they are the result of ancient research on Spider-man and Leopardon, respectively.
Queen Maxima is also Black Cat. After the requisite "you have bested me we must be wed" "i must go my planet needs me", she follows Spider-Man to Earth, where after a bit of research she decides to settle, adopting the identity of an alleged secret illegitimate daughter of a famous dead thief, the original Black Cat; while also pretending she's pretending not to be her. She does do a little thieving, but is mostly a superhero.
Also like early Black Cat, she has no patience for "Clark Kent". She understands that he's just pretending to be weak and meek, and even agrees that it makes for a very good disguise, but she barely can hide her disgust. His friends all don't understand why he tolerates her. But then when the masks come back on they are both extremely happy together.
Leaving the spiders behind for a moment, there's the Danverses, Carol and Linda, a.k.a. Supergirl and Captain Marvel. Except it's not actually Carol, instead it's Mara Vell, alien invader who decided to turn on her people and become a protector of Earth. Her uniform is Supergirl's white shirt variation, but with the kree star as her logo.
Clayface's daughter, from Batman: the Animated Series, is Miss Marvel. First, Flint Marco was Clayface, accidentally gaining powers and trying to steal money to save his sick daughter. He failed and she died, and it broke his mind; he kept trying to use his power to re-create her, but they kept dying off. Eventually he made a big effort and transferred most of his essence to her, so he was the one to die. She had no understanding of any of that, so she ran away, got put in the system, and eventually was adopted by the Khans.
She also has the Miss Marvel uniform, but with the lightning bolt replaced by an oversized kree star.
Billy Batson was judged worthy by an ancient wizard, given a magic staff the order has guarded since time immemorial, and with its power transforms into The Mighty Thor. The olde englishe speeche is definitely him making fun of everyone.

The Connors Problem Chapter 7: Divided Attention
(I just wanted to say before you read that this Chapter was definitely rushed. My mother's birthday is coming up and I've been spending a lot of time making her gift. I had to rush this chapter out because of it. I don't exactly know where I'm going with the story I will admit, but I started writing out how I want to continue this story. This is not a great chapter in my opinion but it sets up what I need to continue. This and chapter 4 are really messy and some character motivations aren't true to the character so I hope to fix that in the next chapter. I still hope you enjoy and that you continue to read this passion project of mine. Thank you and now on to the story.)
Y/N’s POV
“Can you two please just leave me alone!” I snapped and slammed the door to my bedroom. I sat on the other side of the door holding my knees. How did it come to this? I panicked…that was it right? Then I heard the banging on the door.
2 days before
“Alright, Aright.” Flint said as he took my coat. I had gone out to check on Peter. Everyone sat around me as they waited for the news from Peter.
“Okay, Peter told me that they found more multiversal trespassers and that he needs more time to account for them all…and make cures.” I started.
“Make cures?” Norman growled as he was now free from the webbing.
“Peter wants to…save you, I guess. He wants to change your fate.” I said.
“Change our fate!” Octavius hissed, “He’s trying to fix us! Like a dog? I’ll pass!” Octavius motioned towards the window before his mechanical arms froze.
“I have a new friend.” I smirked as I held out my arm. I had the arm band Peter had given me when I last saw him. It was able to control Dr Octavius' tentacles. It also was enchanted to send any villain who presented a threat to a cell. I think Ned said it was in some wizard's basement or something. I moved him back to where he originally was sitting. Randy stared in awe at the arm band. Octavius growled.
“Extraordinary.” Norman said as he came closer to me. He seemed genuinely intrigued compared to some of his other moods. Flint stopped Norman from getting too close as he didn’t trust him. Max rolled his eyes as he went over to show Randy some tricks he knew with his electricity. I looked over at the Curts. They seemed interested but distant still. They kept looking at each other with small glares
“Are you two okay?” I asked them. Curt looked like he was going to speak before Connors hit him on the back of the head with his tail.
“We are just swell.” Connors remarked. I knew he was lying. Connors never said, “swell” and Curt was never this agitated.
“Okay then.” I smiled. I looked over to Flint and whispered, “Can you keep an eye on them while I handle Osborn and Octavius?”
Flint clenched his teeth. He wasn’t on the best terms with the Curts.
“Fine,” he said. I thanked him as I guided Osborn and Octavius to the dining room.
Flint’s POV (I’ve been waiting to write this)
I don’t think I’ve ever been tormented this much by anyone in my entire life…and that’s saying a lot.
“Why would you respond with ‘swell’!” Curt snapped.
“Well, I don’t like to lie to Y/N!” Connors roared back.
I was surprised Y/N wasn’t hearing this, but considering everything on her mind these two were the least of her worries. She knew they could handle themselves and trusted them enough to leave them on their own. She trusted me more and sadly that comes at a price…babysitting. Randy I could handle but a lizard man and a college professor…that was something else.
“You tipped her off! If she thinks we’re misbehaving-” Curt was cut off.
“She’ll spend more time with us.” Connors interjected.
“She has more important things to do!” Curt said with an angered face.
“Well how much time will we have with her before we go back to nothing!” Connors snapped. Curt paused and I turned my head to face them. Connors stormed off to Y/N’s room and shut the door.
“Connors?” Y/N said getting up from the dining table. “Flint what happened?”
“It doesn’t matter!” Curt yelled as he went up the stairs to his temporary bedroom. As much as I hated the two…I couldn’t tell Y/N the cause. These two would not be able to handle her finding out so soon in this way. Y/N already had so much on her plate and didn’t need two of the same person in love with her.
“They just had a simple argument, that's all.” I said, “It was over how…” I didn’t know what to say so I went with the one thing they had patronized me for the past few days.
“What?” Y/N asked.
“About how I drink water…and eat and stuff.” I spat out.
“Oh.” she said. “Well, I need to finish up with Octavius and Osborn…I’ll let them cool off.”
She walked back towards the dining room. I stood there. I just witnessed a weird love triangle and had to mention me drinking water…perfect. I was a little stunned to be fair. I thought that maybe I had been a little wrong about the Curts…but we all had problems. My daughter was dying and I just wanted to go home. Osborn and Octavius were threats, Max was temporarily good, and the Curts just needed to push through. They should have known not to get attached…like I had once.
Connors POV
I sat on the floor of Y/N’s bedroom as I thought through what I had said.
Well how much time will we have with her before we go back to nothing!
Why had I said that out loud? Ugh. I might as well go back to my universe now…
Knock, knock, knock.
“Hey Connors, you okay in there?” Y/N called from the other side of the door. “Can I come in?”
“Sure.” I responded sharply. She opened the door slowly before stepping into the room. She closed the door behind her as she came to sit in front of me.
“How are you feeling?” she asked. “I’m fine…it was just a simple argument.” I responded.
“It didn’t sound like a simple argument.” She said as she touched my hand? Claw? Talon? I should have shifted away but I let her hand linger on mine.
“Things are complicated at the moment. I think it would be for the best that we all have some alone time.” I told her as I stared at the floor. “And that includes you, Y/N.”
She looked at me before giving me a hug. I shouldn’t have felt so happy for her hug but I did. I shouldn’t have…but who could resist. I just wish the timing was better as I saw Curt in the doorway.
“Curt.” I said before he slammed the door. Y/N moved away from me.
“What was that?” She asked. I stood up and opened the door.
“Flint, where did Curt go?” I said as I walked out of the room.
“Why are you always asking me!…” Flint snapped, “He left the apartment.”
“Thanks Flint!” I yelled as I rushed out of the apartment.
“You’re weak, Marko.” Max said.
“Yeah I know.” Flint said.
Curt's POV:
I didn’t know where I was going. I felt like I was running for hours. I heard Connors behind me. I overreacted and I knew that. Something didn’t feel right in me though. I hid in an alley way as Connors passed. I climbed through an open window that led into a pub. At least I thought it was a pub. It looked like it was in someone's basement. I looked around. There was a kitchen with the living room being the “pub”. There was a pool table and a dart board. Beer was everywhere. I was never really a drinker in the past so I was a little uncomfortable.
“Hello?” I called. A man came trudging down the stairs.
“Hey! You’re not supposed to be here!” The man looked like he was maybe 17-18? He had some green like mold on his face and other parts of his body. “This is my hideout buddy!”
“I don’t plan to stay long. I was hiding from someone.” I said.
“Exactly, this is my hideout!” He snapped. He began to wheeze a little. “Who are you?” I asked. “You aren’t from here are you?”
“Fine. I’m not from here! It doesn’t seem like you are either.” He laughed.
“My name is Dr Curt Connors.” I said, holding out my arm.
“Wait. You’re the doctor who tried to turn the entire city into lizards?” He asked with peaked curiosity.
“What?” I said.
“You look different. You’re not blond and…” He looked me up and down. “Well, you aren’t a lizard.”
“Who says I wasn’t cured?” I snapped.
“Well, the news showed a lizard, not a man in this universe.” He smirked.
I was silent. The other version of me had caused some issue bigger than my own in his universe apparently. If that was him…the infinite amount of universes…
“Harry Osborn.” he smiled.
“Harry? Peter’s friend? You don’t look like-”
“Oh, you know Peter too? Could you point me in the right direction? I have a little bone to pick with him.” Harry’s smile grew larger.
“I don’t think the Peter you know is here…but I can lead you to Spiderman.” I grinned.
“Excellent.” He turned to leave.
“Wait!” He looked over his shoulder. “Not unless you help me first.”
“And why should I trust that you won’t leave me to rot?” He growled.
“Why should you trust that I won’t lead you away from Spiderman?” I smirked.
“Fine. Let’s get planning then.”
I don’t know what prompted me to make a deal with this man. Something inside told me to do it. A voice. A voice that sounded a lot like my lizard friend’s. This could also get me close to Y/N. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Y/N POV:
It’s been 2 days since the two left. I had no idea what was going on and everything was becoming more and more overwhelming.
“Y/N we need to order more food.”
“Y/N we need to check on Peter’s cures.”
“Y/N Randy needs help with his homework.”
“Y/N Otto tried to break out again.”
It was too much.
“I need a break!” I yelled. “The Curts aren’t back and Octavius keeps trying to escape.”
“Well, honey, maybe if you didn’t keep us inside this prison!” Norman snapped as he moved closer to me.
“You don’t have your two lap dogs to protect you anymore.” Otto grinned. I stood next to my bedroom. I quickly ran into my room.
“Can you two please just leave me alone!” I snapped and slammed the door to my bedroom. I sat on the other side of the door holding my knees. How did it come to this? I panicked…that was it right? Then I heard the banging on the door.

John Silver x James Flint /2 = Billy Bones.
Billy Bones has all the makings and training to be an excellent pirate governor. He truly does. He has John Silver's likability & ability to not lose sight of people when the goal is at hand, and he has Flint's decisiveness & capacity to make do by taking the next best step no matter how bad the current situation. It's a pity that ability doesn't ever guarantee that you'll achieve your goals.
(I'm sure there's a more sophisticated math equation for this, but I I took AP Calculus without understanding any of it).
