Random Beetlejuice Musical Headcanon:

With how crafty Barbara and Adam are, they'd likely have small cuts and scrapes and callouses on their hands.

Adam probably has a couple nicks on his hands/forearms, and callouses on his fingers, plus a couple of splinters.

The side of Barbara's hands (the side opposite of the thumb) would essentially have been rubbed raw and red due to many lessons on a throwing wheel. (With how good her vases are, I'd estimate a few months of lessons, which would rub her hands raw. This is coming from someone who works on a throwing wheel.) She also probably has clay and glaze in her hair/on her dress and keeps lotion on standby to rehydrate her hands after making pottery on the wheel.

Would you be willing to write about Betelgeuse, Hellboy, Venom and a yautja with a S/O who cannot stand loud (specially sudden) noises and whenever they happen they just stop whatever they are doing and cover their ears? If they feel too overwhelmed they might start shaking and crying. They are also scared easely and the slightest unexpected sounds makes them yelp. Basically they are VERY sensitive to noise.

I hope this is not an uncomfortable topic to write about :( If that's the case, please feel more than free to overlook my request, no hard feelings whatsoever! Have a lovely day/afternoon/night! <3

Sorry this took so long. I finished it a few weeks ago, actually, but just forgot to post it because I have the worst memory.

Hope it was worth the wait.

How they react to a Noise Sensitive S/O

Notes/Warnings: GN!Reader, Reader being overwhelmed, Beej being Beej, exophilia, Fluff, Hurt/Comfort

Betelgeuse

Oh Honey

Beej is a dick when he finds out how you react to loud noises, at least at first

He jumps out and yells to watch you drop things and cover your ears, literally laughing his head off sometimes at your reaction

He carries it on for a while before one very chaotic and extremely loud ‘prank’ finally gets you too overwhelmed and you just sob, genuinely cry in a way he hasn’t ever heard from you.

Instantly he stops and steps back, quietly trying to laugh it off as a joke until you start to tremble and curl up on the floor with your arms wrapped around your head.

At that, he’s genuinely more worried than you’ve ever seen him before and you’d find it sweet if you weren’t having a bit of a meltdown. He doesn’t know what to do, though, so he just leaves you be

You don’t see him for a few days after that until you call out for him and he shows up looking like a guilty puppy. Tell him you forgive him and explain what you’re more sensitive to and how to handle it, he’ll be better after that.

He might still make you jump occasionally after that, but he won’t be half as bad

Should anything trigger you, he’ll sort it out; just hope it’s not a person you want/need around because he will make them regret being born.

Hellboy

HB tends to be soft around you anyway, seeing you similarly to his kittens even before he knows how sensitive to noise you are

When you tell him, he’ll be very understanding since he’s known many people who are sensitive to something or other, especially the people with talents at the BPRD

Of course, being him, he can be pretty loud without realising it and he can be heavy handed. There’s rarely a week that passes without him placing something down a bit too heavily and making you jump.

Since the BPRD can be a noisy place, he’ll get noise blocking headphones for you, and him and Abe set up a spot in the library where you can just chill out when it gets a bit too much

If it gets so bad that you have a meltdown and start trembling, hands over your ears, he’ll offer to wrap you up in his thick coat with him.

It’s warm and smells nice, and it’s thick enough that if you press your ear to his chest then everything outside will be muffled and all you can hear is his heartbeat or him humming something to distract you

If someone is being obnoxiously loud and obviously scaring you, he’ll shut them up. However, the way he’ll shut them up tends to be by yelling at them, usually loud enough to make you yelp.

He tries

Venom

Venom gets it; he’s very sensitive to noise himself though he has a bit of a higher tolerance and noise literally pains him past a certain point.

If he’s attached to you, he’ll try and distract you from the noise by talking in your mind and being a bit catty about whatever is making noise. The worse it gets for you, the more aggressive he gets towards the source.

If it is a person or animal and you start to get overwhelmed, he will offer to eat it. If you’re alone or in a place he can cover over you, he will do and become almost a cocoon for you.

If you're too overwhelmed to move he will happily take over and move you away to a quiet area where he can cocoon you and make sure you're okay. It can make you seem a little rude at times but V doesn't care much about that

Just as with Eddie’s loud neighbour, if it gets too much for the both of you he will scare them into shutting up.

If he’s still with Eddie, he’ll pop out like a lil worm and wrap around you, or urge Eddie to hug you and try to move you to a more relaxing spot if you're in public.

You have no say in if he eats the noise, when attached to Eddie; only Eddie has a say in that and he’s a bit of a pushover sometimes

Yautja

The nature of the Yautja is to be observant, so they figure out even without fully knowing your language that you are easily scared by loud noises

The first time they thud a trophy onto the table and you yelp, they tilt their head and note that away for later.

They roar quite a lot after a hunt and, if you’re there with them (which is rare unless they want to impress you), they notice that you jump or cover your ears when they do that.

When you eventually explain it to them, they’ll try and be quieter around you.

They won’t roar when you’re around, unless it’s purely defensive or warning, and they walk softer, they won’t throw things onto the tables, and if you’re on the ship then they will warn their clan to be quieter

They even make sure to click a few times when coming up behind you, just to make sure they don’t spook you that way as well

Since they’ve got a lot more advanced technology, they’ll try and find ways to make life a little quieter for you, even if you assure them you have plenty of things already

Anything that makes you tremble and cry, they will destroy unless they realise that they can’t, like if it’s your pet or something, in which case they’ll growl and snarl at it until it goes away or shuts up.

They are easily strong enough to pick you up and carry you off to a quiet place themselves

After the noise passes, if you’re still crying then they’ll lift you onto their lap and wipe away any tears and click at you a couple of times before muttering “Ooman. M-di H'dlak.” (No Fear)

You had just moved to your new home, an old and historic, dark wooden house whose prior owners almost gave you free.

They explained you that they had the urge to leave it as soon as possible, since "Bizarre things never ceased occurring there."

You took it as just a joke, since it would be easier to convince a young customer to purchase such an old house if they added a bit of drama to it. Maybe the house maintenance was too expensive for them. "Though...", you eventually thought, "They didn't seem as if they were joking..."

However, there you were, waking up on a comfy bed after surviving a surprisingly restful night at your new home. You yawned and stretched your arms before rubbing your eyes with somnolence.

Then, you headed to the bathroom first and started washing your face. As you had your eyes closed when wetting your face, you could swear you had heard a thump behind you. Convinced that it could be the wind, you dried your face and and decided to check behind you in case something dropped.

When you turn around your gaze meets your now completely messy room. All of your clothes are spread around, your desk is upside down and your closet doors, wide open.

"What the..."

"Just a little redecorating, babe, hope you don't mind!" Your breath hitched and your eyes widened the moment you heard a raspy voice followed by laughter coming from behind you, from the mirror.

You took a deep breath and slowly turned around, facing the neon-green haired demon that showed you a wide toothy grin.

Your mind raced with a million thoughts and you weren't capable of form a single word. The demon before you laughed again, amused with your apparent fearful reaction.

"Bee- Beetlejuice?" You managed to whisper, your hand touching the mirror glass as an excited smile made it's way to your face.

His expression changed drastically at your words and he quickly got out of the mirror to arrive by the bathroom doorframe, where he floated nervously. His hair had now tinted in the brightest of green except for his yellowish hair ends

"You...know me?"

"Of course I do! You're the ghost with the most, the demon straight from hell, the bioexorcist, the-"

"Woah, calm down, babes. I definitely didn't expect fans, you alright?" He asked apparently uncomfortable, though his bright green hair was revealing that he was indeed really flattered.

"Sorry, I'm just really excited to meet you. I didn't mean to bother you, I moved here just yesterday."

"I know. I spent the whole day thinking of pranks to put on you yesterday." He confessed as he scratched his neck awkwardly. "But you seem like a much better roomie than that decrepit couple, soo..." his hair was getting more and more yellow and his hands were fidgeting with his own striped tie until he mumbled a proposal, "...Roomies?"

Your eyes lit at his proposition and you couldn't help but to release an excited "Yes!" that gave him a huge grin and a bright neon hair.

And of course, he excitedly gave you an autograph.

And about the agreement, you both would win with it: Beetlejuice would have an amazing roommate and neither of you would feel lonely.

Living with him has his pros and cons. Yes, he had the ability to always boost your serotonin with his jokes and his cheerful personality, but he is also the filthiest friend you could ever ask for. Also, he seems to have a black hole for stomach and zero respect for privacy so all your savings end up in snacks, but at least he also eats every cockroach and spider that dares to set foot on your house.

And don't let me get started on visits. He will try to scare them away unless you state really seriously that they're your friends and mustn't be scared. If you seem to appreciate your visitors too much or you are away from home (due to work, college...) too much time, he'll feel so lonely that just only an entire week of spending time with him and him only will be able to cure him.

☆ I love him so much that I'm not capable to order my thoughts properly so to continue this request here is a blurb about living with him !! Hope you understand my chaos ☆

He is a very good friend. He will listen to your problems and will offer solutions, he has very good taste in horror films too so movie nights are a MUST in your house.

He is also the most affectionate, doesn't matter if your relationship is platonic or romantic, he will give you the best bear hugs at any time and will compliment your outfits, jewelry, hairstyle...

Show him about video games!! The previous couple had none but once he discovers them he will have so much fun. He loves playing videogames with you, specially horror ones (he makes fun of you if you play calm games like animal crossing or minecraft but as soon as he is alone in your house you can be sure he will sell shells to Tom Nook or build a sheep farm).

He loves singing too! Karaoke in your house is obligatory, he will sing whatever you put him with all the drama he can gather (but we all know he sings good as hell!)

The most negative thing about living with him is not the smell or mess he usually makes, but his unexistent sense of privacy.

He'll enter in the bathroom whenever you're in, doesn't matter if you're in the toilet or taking a shower, he has no problem with opening the courtain wide and ask you if you ate his cheetos. Picture him as kind of a cat, because your bed will never be yours only again.

With the excuse of feeling lonely he'll end up sleeping every night on your room, sometimes even in your bed too so I hope you buy a bigger one.

It doesn't even have to be romantic or flirtatious, he just wants to sleep with you so he doesn't feel alone (also because he has plenty of nightmares and hugging you tightly after one is far more therapeutic than having to deal with them alone. Evidently, you don't know about this reason. Not yet.)

Beetlejuice clone head canons

- He has very little control over them - but they are just really susceptible to suggestion - Anybody can tell them what to do and they will do it. - Beetlejuice can break suggestion based tasks with a look - they will eat anything - They enjoy trouble and mischief - screams are their favorite sound

- They do hold some individuality... very little they are clones so they all have beetlejuice trait's + little extra - Is there a range to how far away they can get from the original. - no clue...

- Beej's favorite group of friends - they go bowling sometimes - with severed heads

- Heights vary so do body types just cause... one is a midget (yeessss midget Beej! Imagine he's way worse about groping cause he's so short and fast) - midget beej is heavy but likes being held cuddles!

- Beetlejuice talks to them a lot - treats them sorta like personal therapists - he also pushes them around. - but he won't severely hurt them a limb torn off here and there won't do much too them.

Dark though - clones are people who sold their soul to him? - its why they are all different... - why they are sorta individual... but they all started turning into beetlejuice...

Betelgeuse I was hugely inspired by a bunch of artists and fic writers in the fandom, as well as a few monster artists who specialize in combining different creatures into beasts that actually look cohesive. I’m not sure how well I was able to execute the vision here, but I’m really proud of it regardless! DiamondZ, nonbinary-arsonist, stinkyhorsebitch, and arbuzyansky were the main catalysts for this, so definitely take a peek at their work or give them a follow. I was initially going to submit this guy for a staff art show, but I don't want to rush the rest of it, so I'm just going to post what I have finished here. Design notes are under the cut.

In earlier drafts, I was looking into more serpentine-looking designs since Beetlejuice turns into a snake in the film. Some of the concepts I was leaning towards looked like either a lindworm or centipede, but I think mammalian fits Musicaljuice since he’s “softer” in a lot of aspects compared to his film counterpart. I may look into playing with a more snake/bug-like design in the future. Beetlejuice’s overall look is heavily inspired by Chalicotherium goldfussi, which were huge Miocene ungulates that are distantly related to things like rhinos and tapirs. Given that Beetlejuice is super old, I felt like an extinct animal was a proper fit. On a more personal level, I really like the way these guys look and it was easier to rework their body plan into something that looks carnivorous. That, and I wasn’t really vibing with other mammalian body plans, especially because I wanted something that was close in shape to a human without being apelike. Huge herbivores also have larger stomachs, which I feel is a better analogue to Beetlejuice’s body type. You’ll have to pry that man’s curves from my cold, dead hands. All his forms are chubby and soft, and I’ll fight you over it in the Denny’s parking lot. I also added some hyaenid traits, especially for the head shape and teeth. Hyenas are very social animals (like Beej, except no one can see him), and striped hyenas and aardwolves specifically have these tall crests of fur that run down their backs and back legs that they can raise and lower to communicate. I’d argue it’s fitting since Beetlejuice’s hair sticks up at odd angles and communicates his mood (intentional or not). And hyenas laugh. Granted they giggle when they’re stressed, but it still fits. I modeled his stripes off of both species as well. His hind paws, ears, and tail are all based off of those of opossums. Beej is very “trash animal”-coded, and I felt like the opossum traits would fit better with the Chalicotherium body than something like a raccoon or skunk. I felt a little bad about not giving him a ton of bug traits, so I tried to add mandibles, but they just weren’t looking right in earlier design drafts. I gave him a bunch of small eyes to compensate, but making him look buggy wasn’t the only reason for the extra eyes. We know from early drafts of the musical script that Beetlejuice’s last name is Shoggoth. These creatures are mentioned by Lovecraft in Fungi from Yuggoth and At the Mountains of Madness, but I’m not sure if this implies that Beej is a shoggoth, or if it more so refers to him being able to manifest multiple limbs/shapeshift/warp reality like one. In that same vein, the mouth in his chest is mostly to look scary and is just another fun little Lovecraftian trait that I felt was needed.
