olympics Y/N L/N dazzles in her short program, skating to Yiruma's "River Flows in You" on the first official day of the solo figure skating competition in Beijing. As of today, she is third on the leaderboard (the first American to have made it this far since Sasha Cohen in Torino 2006), behind the ROC's Kamila Valieva and Anna Shcherbakova.

junebug27 she'd be in first if it weren't for Eteri's drugged up girls, but ya'll aren't ready for that conversation yet
anuyshaliva Kamila and Anna deserve to be in first and second. If Y/N wanted a better position, she should've tried harder.
amarantheazalea stfu girl the russians aren't gonna thank you for riding them yk 😒
junebug27 i said what i said. kamila was literally found to have drugs in her system after the team events concluded, and i wouldn't be surprised if anna and sasha were the same. i'm sure the girls are all very talented on their own, but Eteri breaks them. look what happened to evgenia. look what happened to aliona.

livandluke it's just a bronze, i don't see why everyone's so happy about it
lorabelle even "just a bronze" means you're the third best figure skater in the world 😒 considering what y/n was up against (and all the russian shenanigans going on) this season, i'm hugely impressed with her performance. besides, don't forget, she has a gold team medal too; she just hasn't gotten that one yet because they have to investigate the doping scandal first.
charles_leclerc very well deserved! congratulations @y/nl/n!
y/n l/n merci beaucoup, charles 🥹

The Olympic Village Beijing, China
Her heart wouldn't stop its erratic thump-thumping. As she got out of the bath, wrapped herself up in a fluffy white towel, and threw herself onto the downy comforter, she couldn't help but try to trace her footsteps back; take deep breaths and try to calm herself down.
It was to no avail; the post-Olympic high was still going strong, and there was nothing Y/N could do to calm it down. She didn't know if she wanted to, even if the rapid breathing was getting annoying. She didn't know if she wanted to forget a moment more of this experience.
It had been such a wild ride, coming to Beijing. Y/N had never expected that something like this would happen to her. She'd never even predicted it in her wildest dreams. This had been something Cassie had always longed for, something Cassie had worked her whole life for, and somehow, the opportunity and the medal had been handed to Y/N. It didn't make sense.
She felt guilty for usurping that chance from her best friend, even if it was for sure that Cassie would make it onto the Olympic team in 2026 (It definitely wasn't for sure, but Y/N had to tell herself something to stymie the overwhelming contrition that flooded her every time she thought of Cassie getting fourth place at Nationals). Furthermore, she felt guilty for being where she was now, with so much less experience than her competitors.
Most people started ice skating at five or six. That was when Y/N had gotten her first pair of skates too, but she'd abandoned the sport until she was sixteen; until Cassie had graduated from the junior division to the senior, and had started seriously competing. Y/N had only started doing it as a joke, as a way to release tension from schoolwork and AP tests, but it had evolved into something else. Slowly, she'd realized that she actually enjoyed it, that skating on ice was akin to floating, or even flying. And then it became her passion, and - eventually - her job.
Y/N was here now, in Beijing. She had an Olympic bronze medal, a team gold medal (if the doping investigations would ever conclude), and a new fanbase who were eager and willing to be influenced by her, which was terrifying, to say the least. She had all of this, along with an F1 driver sliding in her DMs and inviting her to races - she had everything Cassie had ever wanted.
It was all so amazing, so good... But why did it feel so bad?

Help! I'm really struggling to pass my Chinese languages class.
Oh well… We all know the problem… I had to struggle with Russian. But when I chose the Russian Cosmonaut preset, a lot of things went a lot easier.
So: It would be cool if your mother tongue was Chinese. And if you were an ambitious, hard-working and clever student overall. But not the nerdy type. The best in every subject. Even in sports. Let's go!
Your Chinese teacher is already forgiving your stupidity again. When you suddenly put the dictated sentence on the blackboard in the finest Mandarin and read it out without an accent. Then you translate it into Cantonese just to be on the safe side. Your teacher's jaw drops. The class cheers. You make a deep bow for fun. And your pants crack. You almost hit yourself in the crotch with a red head. Everything seems to be fine. Pants are fine. No one in the class seems to have noticed either. But something is strange. Have you always had that perfect, muscular, tight ass?
Next lesson: math! Not your favorite subject. Nevertheless, you surprisingly have an answer to all your teacher's questions. You answer with great stamina until your teacher says "Don't take offense, Wang, but I know you know the answer. Why don't you give the others a chance too?" Wang? Why Wang? You put your arm down. You tense your biceps. A bit angry that you're not allowed to show the success of your learning. You burst the sleeve of your shirt. Damn it! You try to hide the tear. But there is no more tear. You're wearing a very form-fitting short-sleeved T-shirt. You admire your own muscular forearms and well-tanned, flawless skin. "Wang, if no one else knows, would you like to show us the solution?" You look at the task for a moment. And go to the blackboard to solve it. Child's play!
On the way to swimming lessons, you meet your tutor. You haven't seen her for two weeks. She looks at you and asks "Are you okay? Are you getting on? Is everyone nice to you? Do you understand me?" Lord in heaven, you've been in the USA for almost four months now. You speak better English than most of the long-noses here. You reply that you are doing great, that the material in your grade level could be a little more challenging, but that you are very proud to have made it to the swim team. And you offer her your support if she ever needs help. She looks at you like a cow in a thunderstorm.
Tumblr media
Yes, you actually work out too much on the weights for a good swimmer. But you love the water and you love the gym. It's a good time here. It's downright relaxing. Maybe you'll stay here and not go back to Beijing.
I have found your way out of bad grades @taurus-men1

Annual Leave
I spent 16 days touring across East Asia and Southeast Asia. I made a lot of friends throughout the solo trip and that's all thanks to Pelle. You see, I did say to people that I have a solo trip and just luckily made tons of friends, but it's always been a game of two from the get go.
I was so stressed out in my first day when I landed in Japan. They don't like or feel too comfortable to converse in English and boy it was a great sight yet so draining due to all the confusion. So I resorted to my back-up plan that I stored in my suitcase once I checked in to my hotel to relieve me from the stress of this whole solo trip. Pelle is a friend of mine that came from millions of light years away. He's been very important for me as he helped me to solve my bullies problem ever since my senior year of high school until now in my 3rd year with my roommate and those frat boys. Pelle slid off the jar quickly as soon after I opened the lid and just like that, he was gone for the moment as he already knew what it meant for him when he's released.
Around an hour later, someone knocked my hotel room and when I opened the door, this Japanese guy starts speaking in an accented English telling me to skip shower and let him guide me around the bustling megacity. A quick glance to his eyes confirmed my suspicion, Pelle override whoever this guy is already and used his body as as vessel
Aki shown me around his hometown, Tokyo, and then packed his bag to the countryside for 3 days where his built and of-course-fluent Japanese helped us to survive and have fun without getting lost.
Tumblr media
I think the time where he practically slut me out to the whole onsen where my head was pistoned in several succesive cocks truly left a memorable impact in me. Pelle's decision to take over Aki's body back in Tokyo despite me insisting on making this trip an actual solo trip was eye-opening (and hole-opening of course). Not only did that solve a lot of potential problem, having a local guide that you can have fun together with and not going to be fussy about your itinerary is a total blessing because it's still feels like the one that drive the trip is you and you only have someone to fully help you around.
But Japan was just the first out of many country I planned to visit. Pelle slid out of Aki in one of the toilet in Narita, and minutes later he messaged me that he already joined the flight directed to my next destination, Beijing. During the flight, I got informed by the flight attendant that my seat was upgraded to Business Class. I was quite suspicious to the studly flight attendant but as soon as I got escorted to the Business Class section, the flight attendant quickly shoved me to the carpeted floor much to my surprise. He then said
"Sniff and bark like the dog you are!"
I glared at him wildly, but then I realized that he's merely puppeteered by Pelle. So, Pelle is not inside the flight attendant any longer and he's instead hidden in one of this private cabin. After forced to be on all fours sniffing my way to find in which section the mysterious guy hid himself, I finally caught whiff of this leathery perfume and oaky stench. That's when I opened the private cabin to eventually stumbled with the sole passenger in the Business Class section.
"You found me,"
"Not like you can hide such strong smell,"
I once again got shoved by the flight attendant that just came outta nowhere, and then I literally fell on top of this buff young guy with his chiseled face and equally appetizing body. I can smell him even clearer now, he even smelled expensive yet super sexy too and he just giggled at me for being so awestruck with him
"Never been so up close and personal witb a hunk like me, huh?"
Which is clearly wrong because all those frat boys already left me cop a feel anyway, but I did have to admit that this guy is great on his own way.
Tumblr media
He's a Beijing native and he own a pad overlooking the city where I stayed for 3 days having the best time getting pampered by him.
Tumblr media
He also introduced me to his 2 best friends who willingly tag-teamed to destroy my hole from both ends while he's busy working in the next room.
Tumblr media
Pelle's control on the young, cocky businessman is a true masterwork on its own, but the way Pelle managed to also affect the businessman's two best friends without even needed to slid into them clearly shown how amazing his computational capability to manage 3 different human being doing activities of their own.
Then, after some digging, Pelle realized that the young businessman also have private jet he rarely used because he knew it was totally monitored by his parents. After influencing the pilot (that's also in his parents paycheck) to ensure that no tracking devices left behind the private jet, he let me use his private jet for the remainder of my trip. I asked the pilot to drop me in Hanoi.
I went to Hanoi a lot during my childhood since my dad is a Vietnamese immigrant but I've never been in Hanoi ever since I graduated elementary school. My companion in Hanoi was Van, a gym cutie I stumbled in this rooftop bar I went to during my 2nd night in the city.
Tumblr media
Pelle slid into Van when he eventually left his table that he shared with his 5 other friends for some quick fix in the restroom. Pelle did give Van a quick fix as the loud-mouthed asshole that slapped on girl's butt that went pass his table all night long turned into a horny gay motherfucker as he rode me to town in the cramped bathroom stall. We consummated our relationship all over town as he literally fucked me in his parked G-Wagon before heading for some 2 AM pho fix. Van lived in a high-rise apartment paid by this lady that frequent his gym and paid him as her boytoy. Pelle observed that Van's misogyny and rudeness came from the fact that he's self-aware that he's practically just a slut and that hurted his ego and I just nodded in silence when he explained all that. I don't know, I wanted to pity him but at the same time, isn't it his life choices? Who am I to judge anyway, he's just a guide too for me to shown me around so I decided to not be too sentimental about some life story of random meat puppet my alien friends worn
Van continued on to become my Vietnamese trip companion as I went to Sa Pa, Da Nang and closed the Vietnamese leg in Ho Chi Min.
Tumblr media
We left his body in the hotel room in the old quarters of Ho Chi Minh as I travel to Bangkok, still with the trusted private jet Pelle made the businessman let me use. In retrospect, I think Pelle enjoyed our Thailand leg the most. The country was in the middle of a heat wave when we came so everyone was wearing the thinnest shirt possible and the club is filled with people ditching their shirts and just danced the night away. That's when I also stumbled with Pat, who didn't even need to be taken over by Pelle to be nice to me.
Tumblr media
I just instantly have a good vibe from seeing him and talk to him briefly, but alas, I'm not here for niceties and it was actually thrilling to see how Pelle made that beautiful face of his smirked when he managed to take over Pat's body and directed me to meet him in the club's bathroom.
Pat, obviously, is a model and social media personality. An engagement for a brand in Pattaya the following day caused us to tag along for that event where Pat influenced one of his local friends to show me around while he's shooting all day. That's when I realized that Pat might be too busy of an individual to show me around so I contacted Pelle to just left his body. You know what he did instead? He wrapped up the shoot in lightning speed as he influenced the producer to not ask him for another take and then solely guided me around the places while occasionally grumbling on how I would be punished later for making him do all this work and almost jeopardizing his career.
Tumblr media
We spent 4 days in total in Thailand and Pelle, as Pat, showered me with attention, affection and his seemingly unrelenting amount of cum. He was the light of the party so it was easy for him to lure in some friends that quickly turned into a temporary additional muscle puppet as he put his own friends under his control. We literally spent our final night in Bangkok fucking like there's no tomorrow, the crowd of Pat and his friends all trying to get a piece of action with me and with each other as if they weren't bunch of straight guys or married man themselves before Pelle's takeover of Pat and the subsequent mind control he unleashed to these oblivious men. As we finished with him and his friends, we just silently left him in the aftermath of the orgy in his apartment to close off my Thailand's leg and headed to the real closing leg of my holiday trip
Tumblr media
The final part of the trip put me in Bali where the jet eventually returned back to China too after we landed in the airport. Pelle of course remained by my side as we went into this well-known beach side gym with outdoor setting where one of my bully, Kyle, already waited for me and Pelle. He's been taken over by Pelle before so there will be no issue for Pelle to slid back into Kyle and after that, we departed back to the States
Tumblr media
*** 18 hrs later, Hamad International Airport, United Arab Emirates ***
"What do you think of Europe?" asked Pelle through Kyle as he already in control of the jock's brain ever since our meet-up in the beach yesterday
"Huh? What are you talking about? My leave----"
He shushed me and then he winked at me as he motioned me to look into the opposing chair where a stud comfortably manspread in the chair with his headphone on while his left hand rested on that visibly hard groin. I licked my lips, thinking about Pelle making that dude's mine for the time being until we get called to board. But then, Kyle whispered to my ear
"What if I told you that you could be him?"

"Together with Stéphane" [x] [image description in the article: Shoma Uno holds a piece of paper with his hopes for the second half of the season, which says "together with Stéphane", in Beijing, China, on December 10, 2023.]
―This season you are focusing on expression, but do you actually feel like there is a dilemma between the skating that you want to do and the current rules? ◆Until last year, yes. I didn't like that what is considered as a good performance is 'jumping'. [...] But it's what we do within the rules. We have to be able to adapt to any rule. So I also want to practice according to the current rules. Until last year, my opinion clashed with Stéphane's on this aspect. I only wanted results, while Stéphane wanted me to work hard on expression as well. But expression doesn't really bring points. Until last year I was thinking, 'No, no, I have to focus on jumps'. Now I agree with Stéphane. I don't know if it's because I'm in a state of mind where I'm satisfied with my results, but now I'm going in the same direction as Stéphane, so I want to do the things he wishes for."
―After your performance, you turn to coach Lambiel right away. Is that because you want to see his reaction first? ◆First of all, yes. This time, after the short program was over, he looked really delighted. He was really pleased after this free skate too, and I was really happy about that. There's a part of me that feels like I'm working hard for that. I guess that that kind of moments are what make me happy.
―Your fellow teammate Koshiro Shimada also said, "The goal of Shoma and I is to make Stéphane scream in excitement as much as possible.'' ◆Certainly (laughs). That's for sure.
―Does it motivate you to perform in a way that makes people around you happy? ◆Of course that's one of my motivations. However, making Stéphane happy is more like a "goal" than a motivation.
―You wrote "together with Stephane" on the cardboard. ◆This is my current state of mind. My heart, mind, and motivation are overflowing, and although this grand prix series made Stéphane really happy, I can still make him even happier. From now on, I want to do my best and work hard towards the next events together with Stéphane, and show the results in competition.

if walls could talk | lee donghyuck
Tumblr media
CHARACTER: haechan/lee donghyuck and reader
WORD COUNT: 2.3k
GENRE: mafia
WARNINGS: mild s-exual content, some language, g-uns
AUTHOR'S NOTE: HERE'S THE FIRST INSTALLMENT OF 23 MOMENTS WITH DONGHYUCK! :) As usual please leave comments and send me asks!
The first mission with the notorious Lee Donghyuck involved looking for the hoodlums who attacked Na Jaemin during his trip to Beijing.
Lee Donghyuck is the syndicate’s big boy—the leader of the pack, they would call him, praising and glorifying the floor he walks on because that’s how good he is. People in and out of your organization, whether or not they’d had any interaction with him at all, would tell you how heartless this man is, then proceed to talk about the missions he’d complete and how he’s the most sought after agent, telling tales about different syndicates and organizations trying to recruit him. You don’t know much about Lee Donghyuck, only the ones the women from your organization gossip about inside the restrooms when they think no one’s listening. And if the walls could talk, well, they’d probably have the juiciest information about the Lee Donghyuck.
Considering his reputation in world of underground businesses, he’s known not to take missions that were too small for his big boy world, hence, it’s a surprise when Mark Lee calls you at two in the morning, telling you a private jet is waiting for you and Lee Donghyuck.
He’s dressed in the darkest shade of black, a thick, expensive leather jacket adorning his unassuming body, jeans ripped in a way one could barely consider it wearable.
“I was in a rush,” he’d explained when he caught you looking at the honey skin showing from where the material is ripped on his knees, legs, up and up. “Had to hop in the plane as quickly as I could.”
You’d nodded, still half asleep, the digital clock showing it’s 2:18 in the morning. You can’t recall if you even introduced yourself, but you remember being shaken, woken up by Lee Donghyuck when you’d arrived in China.
A man named Huang Renjun welcomes you and Lee Donghyuck as soon as you step foot off the plane. You’d met Renjun sometime last year, when he’d visited Mark Lee in Seoul’s headquarters and delivered the custom-made pistols you’d ordered from his city. You never really kept in touch—and it’s not like anyone from your world keeps in touch with anybody else.
He leads you towards the SUV waiting and tells you about the whereabouts of Qian Kun and how you’d find him at five in the morning. It turns out that Qian Kun knows where to find the group of people who put Na Jaemin in a goddamn coma. Renjun discusses the mission from the passenger seat, while you and Lee Donghyuck sit on the back. Lee Donghyuck’s jaw visibly tightens when Renjun describes Jaemin’s condition.
“I’m sorry, man,” Renjun sighs. “I do think it’s better if Jaemin stays here until he gains consciousness. There’s nothing you should be worried about though. The doctors working on him are the best of the best here in China. I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
“That motherfucker better be,” Lee Donghyuck huffs. “He owes me 20 million from the last time. And I’ll fucking kill him if he dies on me.”
Renjun chuckles. “He literally said the same thing when you had your incident here three years ago.”
It’s the first time you see Lee Donghyuck smile since you’d seen him today, or since you’d seen him at all if passing by him in the headquarters twice a year counts. He lets out the smallest of the small chuckles, lips upturned—both corners, not the infamous smirk he throws in anyone’s way—and looks up, quiet for a second before his mouth goes back to being a thin line.
“I’ll fucking kill them, Renjun,” he firmly says, like a warning—a promise.
Renjun nods. “I would to, if I had the skills like yours,” he replies. His phone chimes. “Kun’s been notified of your arrival. Remember not to trust him fully, yeah? We’re just taking the risk to go to him because he has the information we need to find the devils who attacked Jaemin. Don’t get your guard down.”
Lee Donghyuck smirks. “As if.”
Renjun reaches behind to hand Donghyuck the tablet that shows the map of Kun’s quarters. Lee Donghyuck leans close to you—you can smell his perfume from here—and shares the screen with you, fingers moving as he zooms in and out and navigate through the digital map.
“He probably setup some traps,” Renjun warns. “And they aren’t harmless, so be careful. Donghyuck-ah, you have to be careful, yeah? Mark thought it’d be a bad idea to send you here when you’re emotional and all—”
“Who said I’m emotional?” Lee Donghyuck grunts. “My hands are just itching to pull a trigger to someone’s head. Been quite some time.”
“That mission with Hendery in Germany went well, didn’t it?” Renjun asks. “Should’ve gone to Germany with you.”
“You’re practically useless in site missions, Renjun, no fucking offense,” the other spits. Renjun laughs. “Stay in your fucking lane. Inside the headquarters and in your makeshift laboratory and work on your gunsmith shit. Don’t get involved. Don’t want you to end up like stupid Jaemin who didn’t think of taking a someone with him when he wandered his stupid ass away in Beijing.” You stay quiet all this time. If the walls could talk, they wouldn’t know that Lee Donghyuck has friends.
Tumblr media
Qian Kun is a fucking nightmare.
Getting through all his stupid traps and annoyingly impressive security system was a pain in the ass, but you and Lee Donghyuck managed to get through it.
It turns out that you and Lee Donghyuck like to dance. Not in a way when your skins are touching or your feet are matching each other’s pace, but in a way that you know how to fucking tango. You wonder why Mark Lee ever thought of calling you of all people to take this revenge mission, but he’s worked with you and Lee Donghyuck separately for almost a decade now. You assume he probably knows how well you and the leader of the pack could work together. Lee Donghyuck knows how to speak with his eyes, and you know how to read expressions like it’s a game. He carefully looks behind him as if he’d been stabbed in the back before, while you like to focus on what’s ahead, eyes on the path in front of you—hence, dancing tango.
Kun smiles when he sees you and Lee Donghyuck untouched inside his office.
“Come on, it’s fun!” he defends when Lee Donghyuck stares down at him, not a hint of humor showing his face. “It’s like a pre-training before you actually go on your mission, you know?”
“Cut the crap, Kun,” Lee Donghyuck retorts. “You know you could just tell Renjun whatever you know over the phone, right?”
“Where’s the fun in that?” Kun sighs. “Also, how would I know Renjun’s not recording any of our conversations? For all I know, he’s out there telling the media I’m alive.”
Lee Donghyuck exhales. “The world still thinks you died in that fire five years ago, Kun. And you’ve known us since then. Have we ever sold you out?”
Kun shrugs. “People change sides.”
“Not us,” you say. “Mark Lee’s been very diligent in ensuring that people think your dead.”
Kun smiles. “He’s the most trustworthy person I know. Even though I only know like three people I can trust.”
Lee Donghyuck takes a step. “Now, tell me where I can find the hoodlums who hurt Na Jaemin.”
Tumblr media
The place that Kun gives you is located in between the largest corporations in Beijing—unassuming and hidden in plain sight. Renjun meekly equips you with the pneumatic air guns, while Donghyuck confirms he’s brought his own so he doesn’t need any.
The plan is to enter the corporation as Mr. and Mrs. Li from Tencent Holdings Ltd., the couple who is expected to visit. Kun’s found a way to delay the real Mr. and Mrs. Li by having them miss their flight and Mark, with the help of his tech friends from China, ensured they wouldn’t be able to contact the people they’re meeting.
The security lets you in after sneaking a careful glance on the IDs you present. But with the look of suspicion and a quick tap on the security’s earpiece, you know they know you and Lee Donghyuck aren’t Mr. and Mrs. Li.
Hence, you and him are now running and hiding from their security. Lee Donghyuck himself did not expect them to catch on so easily, and somehow, you think Qian Kun might have been involved.
“Fucking Kun,” Donghyuck grunts under his breath as you and him stop and slide yourselves in a narrow lane. “I knew we couldn’t trust him.”
You’re gasping, hands on your knees as you lean your back against the wall of a building. “Mark will take care of him,” you assure. “For now, let’s get out of here and plan better. From what it looks like, we’re dealing with something bigger. Maybe hurting Na Jaemin was just the tip of the iceberg.”
Footsteps and the sounds of weapons startle you and Lee Donghyuck. You take out your gun, but Donghyuck stops you and does the fucking impossible. He does it so quickly that it doesn’t sink in until you’re up against the wall.
He rids you of your hair tie in one pull and rips your jacket off, leaving your arms and chest exposed, only covered by your black tank top. He throws his own jacket alongside yours on the concrete, showing off his arms clad in a black shirt that fits his body well. And the next thing you know, he’s carrying you, your legs wrapped around his waist, his hands on your ass as he pushes you against the cold, hard wall for support.
Lee Donghyuck has the fucking audacity to bite his lips and look into your eyes before diving in and kissing the air out of your fucking lungs. You squirm, groaning as he kisses you open mouth. Donghyuck gropes your ass harder as if he’s telling you to shut up, but you don’t’ condone being kissed without fucking consent, so you keep writhing under his touch, until he pushes his tongue in and you let out a sound—a moan—and you kind of want to punch the smirk out of his stupid lips.
You bite his lips in return, wrapping your arms around his neck. “Don’t,” you grit. “Ever kiss me without consent.”
Donghyuck adjusts and pushes his—damn it—crotch against your heat. “This,” he replies, mouth still all over yours. “Looks like a consent to me.”
And oh, you’re mad. You’re mad that Lee Donghyuck thinks he can do this to you whenever he pleases, like you’re one of the girls who talk about him inside the restrooms when they think no one’s listening. Like you’re some girl he can just push against the wall and make out with when it’s convenient. (You’re not about to show him how true that is right now.) Hence, you take one of your hands and wrap it around his neck.
Lee Donghyuck, for the first time since you met him at two in the morning, runs out of breath and stay still. You keep your mouth on him, while he keeps his agape, so you take the opportunity to invite your tongue in—take, take, take—until he comes to his senses and fights back.
And it’s like dancing tango, you think, except you have your hand tightly wrapped around his neck and Lee Donghyuck’s crotch feels harder than ever against your heat, and he has to stop and almost drops you when he realizes the people running after you are long gone.
You and him are out of breath when it’s over.
“What’d you do that for?” you confront.
“I could ask you the same thing.”
“What? The choking?” Donghyuck blinks. You look down at the growing bulge on his pants. “I see you have a thing for choking.”
“Fuck off,” he grunts, turning to pick up his jacket. He kicks your towards where you stand. “Public kissing makes people uncomfortable.”
“That was your best idea?” you ask, bending down so you can pick up your jacket. “I knew everyone’s bluffing when they talk about how great you are.”
Donghyuck chuckles bitterly, walking further down the narrow lane and leading the way. You follow. “And I thought I made the smartest decision to bring you here with me.”
“You what?”
Lee Donghyuck chose you to come to Beijing with him? Now that you think about it, when Mark called you earlier today, he had said, “Someone needs your help today.”
Maybe it was the 2-in-the-morning haze, but kind of forgot about that. You are so used to being called at ungodly hours for a mission that you don’t really keep track of its purpose sometimes. You get up, get ready, and complete the mission—a cycle that you’re accustomed to. But this—Lee Donghyuck handpicking you as his partner for this assignment or revenge mission—is something new. Something you kind of want to get used to.
But Lee Donghyuck runs off before you could start asking questions. He quickly tells you that you and him better split off and try to get off the radar for a few hours and take the earliest flight back to Seoul. He doesn’t give you a rendezvous and just flees; he’s probably expecting you to know where to meet up at the end of the day.
You watch him take a taxi, your lips tingling as you observe the way Lee Donghyuck runs his fingers through his hair, fixing the mess you had made minutes ago. You lick your lips and taste him again; it sends you shivers down to your heat.
Oh, man. If the walls could talk, nobody would believe what just happened.

[The Hill is US Private Media]
Earlier this year, The Hill published an Op-Ed I wrote that was titled “Puerto Rico’s political status, an issue of national security.” In that piece I presented a series of events to stress and relate the political future of Puerto Rico, its importance to the U.S. national security needs and how foreign powers push their agenda through the pro-independence movement within the island.
This past June, the United Nations Decolonization Committee met to discuss the issue of Puerto Rico at the request of Cuba. That body also passed the 41st consecutive resolution asking for the island’s self-determination and independence, with complete disregard of the will of its residents, who are US citizens. I tried to set the record straight by submitting a written and oral statement but the representative of Cuba had other plans. My statement blew the Cuban representative’s mind that led to an interruption rampage. Somehow my statement[...] made him forget that he was not in Cuba and that the UN is a place where different points of view are supposed to come together in order to encourage a thorough discussion of the issues pressing the world. I can attest that this wasn’t one of the UN’s best moments.
But what was he trying to hide? Simple, for the Cuban representative, the truth is inconvenient. Its ties with China and Russia are publicly known and widely reported. The Wall Street Journal, in June 20, 2023, wrote “Beijing Plans a New Training Facility in Cuba.” This is something that the Cuban representative did not want on the UN record. But why would China want to establish a military training facility in Cuba? Maybe for the same reason, the Chinese wanted to buy what used to be Roosevelt Roads Naval Station in Puerto Rico but couldn’t. [...]
In June 2023, Francisco Urdinez wrote for the [US industry thinktank] Wilson Center, “At the OAS, where China is an observer, an analysis by George Meek showed that between 1948 and 1974, the United States influenced 75 percent of the 297 roll-call votes. That influence has clearly diminished. Between 2001 and 2021, countries in which China has displaced the United States economically were 26 percentage points less likely to vote in alignment with Washington than other member states.” This clearly represents a shift in political power because of ill conceived policies that fail to recognize the importance of U.S. leadership in Latin America.[...]
It is important to remember that the involvement of foreign powers and interests in Latin America is not new. In 2011, the subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence of the U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing on Hezbollah in Latin America — Implications on U.S. Homeland Security, and received the testimony of Ambassador Roger F. Noriega, former US Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OEA) and stated, “Hugo Chaves hosted a terror summit of senior leaders of Hamas (supreme leader “Khaled Meshal), Hezbollah (unnamed “chief operations”), and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (Secretary General Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah) in Caracas on August 22, 2010. That extraordinary meeting was organized at the suggestion of Iran,… In addition to the summit, operatives from other countries gathered in Caracas to meet with these terrorist chieftains.”
These are but a few indications that Puerto Rico’s political status may have a significant impact on U.S. security and foreign policy interests. The island’s current political status is not sustainable and when it comes to an end there will be only two options: it either becomes a state, thereby ensuring a strategic U.S. presence at the crossroads of the Americas, or it becomes a sovereign country which would be tantamount to ceding the island to our adversaries. The longer Congress takes to act on Puerto Rico’s political status, the greater the likelihood of the latter outcome.[...]
[The Author] José Enrique Meléndez-Ortiz, Esq., LLM., is representative at large in Puerto Rico’s House of Representatives.
"Puerto Rican Independence is a Russian-Chinese-Iranian Plot" now a mainstream narrative being pushed among self described progressive media by sitting politicians [22 Oct 23]

Aoi Honoo IV - Prologue (the introduction)
Disclaimer: Full translation of AH4's Prologue done via machine translation (ChatGPT, Google Translate, DeepL and several other obscure online dictionaries). This means: nuances may be lost, meanings may be vague/muddled, but the relevant information is present. (@/LiaRyFS)
In 2019-2020, Hanyu Yuzuru thought about various things and hesitated, but ultimately he strongly decided to jump the quad Axel. Looking back on that season, he said as follows.
“2019 was a year of constant battle for me, including the World Championships in Saitama in March. I had been practising the quad Axel for a while, but it didn't go well for a long time… Sometimes I could jump it when I practised with a harness, and I thought, 'If I could do more of this, I might be able to do it.' But I also got injured again while trying things out, and there were many things that happened that season.
It was a year in which I kept challenging myself, but it was also a year in which I felt a sense of defeat as if everything had been broken. It's like there's nothing I can do on my own power, and that's how it felt…
At the Torino Grand Prix Final, of course, I felt that even if I made a lot of effort, I couldn't win without the support of the people around me. I somehow felt at that time that there is a world where no matter how much effort you put in, you can't win without the moment when everyone's power comes together, like at the Olympics.
However, it was a bit different from the statement made at the 2022 Beijing Olympics that 'effort will not be rewarded'. At that time, I think my desire to 'just get better' was still strong, so I was expressing those kinds of thoughts. As the consecutive competitions went on, I lost the strength to say such things when I lost at the All Japan Championships. 2019 was a year in which I struggled, not wanting to just be someone who won two consecutive Olympic titles, or someone from the past.”
When the new year began, he tried to find his way out of that despair.
“Since 2020, I have tested myself and thought a lot about what figure skating really means. So with the desire to regain my confidence, I returned to skating to my programs, ‘Ballade No. 1 in G minor’ (hereinafter referred to as ‘Ballade No. 1’) and ‘SEIMEI’. Since I had not yet won first place in the Four Continents Championships, there was a similar feeling of joy to my first victory in the 2019 GP Skate Canada. (N/T: Winning Skate Canada and 4CC sparked similar feelings of joy) I was really happy to have won! I think it was a big deal that Nathan Chen didn't participate at that time, but still winning the Four Continents for the first time and being able to win all the competitions that I had left behind gave me a sense of achievement and I was enveloped in a great sense of accomplishment.
However, what was bothering me inside was still the quadruple Axel. Even if I skated 'Ballade No.1' more beautifully than before and improved technically, there was a sense of resignation that 'I can't get a score higher than 2015' or something like that. The competition was the one where I felt like I had finally let go of my doubts and decided to focus solely on attempting the quadruple Axel. In a sense, that season was when I was able to establish a clear path towards expressing myself through the program and the 4A.”
However, his feelings were complex towards the World Championships that were coming up next (N/T: WC2020)
“In retrospect, I feel like I wasn't as fully invested in preparing for the World Championships as I thought I was, although at the time I was putting in my best effort. Unfortunately, it was ultimately cancelled due to the impact of the coronavirus. Winning the Four Continents Championship was a very fulfilling achievement, and I don't think it's normal to experience burnout after winning Four Continents, but in a way, there was a sense of resignation and a lifting of the confusion in my heart, combined with the fact that I was going to compete against Nathan, so... to be honest, that World Championships wasn't a competition where I had to jump the quadruple Axel, and the quadruple Axel wasn't a jump I could do even after practising it for about two weeks.
Since the program with the quad Lutz, 'SEIMEI,' had a different composition, I aimed to stabilise that first, and also, I had already peaked a little since the Four Continents, so honestly, during that short period, I couldn't do much except to adjust to get back to my peak.
However, at that time, the fear of competing against Nathan had already disappeared. It's like, 'I don't mind losing anymore' (laughs). In a way, until the cancellation of the World Championships, I always thought that it would be enough for me to firmly express what I wanted to express and to firmly follow the path of figure skating that I believed in.
However, when the World Championships were actually cancelled, I cried a lot. I couldn't help but wonder, ‘What was I working so hard for?’ And when it was actually cancelled, I realised that I hated going into competitions with the mind-set of 'losing'.”
From there, the spread of the novel coronavirus increased and the situation became such that people were unable to move around freely.
“In the end, that was the end of the 2019-2020 season, and after that, the spread of the coronavirus began, but I didn't have much hope. I was devastated at the 2019 GP Final and All-Japan, and had given up after ‘Ballade No. 1’ at the 2020 Four Continents Championships. From that time on, I didn't have much hope while practising. Rather, the only goal was ‘to jump the quadruple Axel!’
Even if my skating skills and other things improve, it doesn’t mean that the program components score will grow any further. Even if I perfected the expression through music, even if I matched the sound of the jumps to the sound of the music. Even if I did jumps with more variations from difficult steps, the GOE will not improve significantly. Rather, because of that, the speed would be slower and the height of the jumps lower, so some judges give 0 or +1 GOE.
In that sense, I felt like ‘I don't really care about those things anymore’ and decided to be true to myself. Although it may sound like an excuse, rather than trying to do something while decorating myself as 'Yuzuru Hanyu', I think I started practising with the feeling of facing my own core and jumping the quadruple Axel, thinking ‘I'm going to finish this’. So, when I came back to Japan, I started training with that mind-set.
To be honest, there were times when I felt really hopeless, and when the World Championships were cancelled, I cried with relief thinking, ‘I'm glad I don't have to go to a losing match’. In reality, I hadn't been able to push myself to the limit and I wasn't able to perform as well as I wanted to.”
Challenging himself alone in Japan after returning home was even more difficult than he had imagined. Later, Hanyu talked about that time.
“In those days, I felt like I spent a lot of time having a dialogue with myself and facing skating. The desire to successfully perform a quad axel was always at the core of my being. After the Pyeongchang Olympics, I had absolutely no motivation, so if I didn't have the quad Axel, I think I would have definitely quit, and I would have thought about retiring earlier. But thanks to that, I think I now have a reason to live pursuing my dreams, and that is the centre of my current life. I think that hasn't changed from those days to now.
However, at that time, there were challenges in pursuing the quad Axel jump. There were times when the gears didn't quite mesh due to factors such as not having a coach to guide me, changes in practice environment, and issues with body care that I had to decide on my own. At that time, I had a feeling that not only my 4A but also the level of what I was doing was gradually decreasing. I had a feeling like, 'Why am I even doing figure skating?'...It was like a sense of loss. It's like my own abilities were diminishing, or like my skating wasn't my own anymore. I felt a strong sense of sadness, like seeing my ideals getting further and further away from me. When I perform in ice shows or when I have my coach watch me skate, I receive feedback like 'this was good' or 'let's try this a little differently' but when I set such a high goal for myself like attempting the quad Axel alone, I have to spend every day unable to achieve it. I was doing it without any self-affirmation in the midst of that.”
In addition, he completed his graduation thesis for the correspondence course of the Waseda University Faculty of Human Sciences at the end of July, but the burden of collecting data for it was also significant.
“That required a lot of energy. What was published in academic journals was really just a small part, and we actually collected much more data and did various things. It took time to collect that data and required a lot of mental effort as well. At that time, various things coincided. My foot hurt from practising the quadruple Axel, and I had to rest from practice. When I returned to practice, I couldn't jump at all... Everything was already leaning in a negative direction.”
The cancellation of the ice show that used to be held every year, due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, was also a loss for Hanyu, who had always continued to challenge himself with a forward-looking attitude.
“To be honest, there was a time when I didn't understand why I loved skating. If we really, really go back to the origin, it was something like an extraordinary feeling. The sensation on the ice is completely different from the sensation of living on the ground, isn't it? Because it's such a difficult thing, I think there was a sense of joy when I was able to do it. And then, skating alone on that wide rink and everyone watching only me. If my performance was good, I would receive tremendous cheers, but if it was bad, I would only get mediocre feedback.
I think that sensation of being watched, of being seen, is something that I really liked. But as I continued skating for a long time, that feeling gradually faded away, or became commonplace. In addition to that, there was also a lot of pressure to meet everyone's expectations, and it became not just fun, but also nerve-wracking, worrying about what would happen if I failed, and so on. It was because of the accumulation of those things, and the increasing burden that came with it, that it stopped being enjoyable, or rather, there was no time to think about enjoying it anymore.
I feel a lot of pressure to 'perform well’ even at ice shows, so I practise a lot for that purpose. So, I think that's why, during the off-season when I wasn't in front of everyone, I started to feel even more like 'why did I love skating again?'”
In the midst of feeling cornered, he had to think and make various decisions on his own. And he had to keep challenging himself with the high hurdle of the quadruple Axel.
“There were times when things didn't go well, and that's why at that time, my mind and my head were in a mess and I felt like I couldn't do anything. Normally, if I played a game or something, it would refresh me and I would think ‘Alright, let's do our best next time,’ but at that time, there was nothing I could do.
Experiencing the pain of practising alone to the point of hating it, Hanyu decided to withdraw from the Grand Prix series during that period. The Grand Prix series of this year was held in a modified format due to travel restrictions between countries. Each skater was allowed to participate in only one event, and the conditions for participation included skaters, judges, and officials from the host country, as well as skaters who regularly practised in the host country. In addition, only skaters from other countries who were invited based on their geographical location were able to participate.
Afterwards, the second event Skate Canada and the fourth event in France were cancelled, and only the first event Skate America, the third event in China, the fifth event in Russia, and the sixth event NHK Trophy were held. The Final was also announced to be cancelled.
In August, Hanyu took into consideration that "many people would have to travel due to my participation".
He announced his withdrawal, saying, "If I refrain from going and make efforts to prevent the spread of infection, I believe it can be one of the activities to prevent the spread of infection." For Hanyu, who has used going to competitions as a way to stimulate his emotions and as a source of energy for his evolution, it was a difficult decision.

Gifts Given
a The Root of All Ransom one-shot (see series)
Summary: Ran treats you when you aren't expecting it.
Warnings for suggestive language, but this series is 18+ only. MINORS DNI, please. Also highly unedited because this is basically a deleted scene. WC 865
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The private elevator slides open to the lobby of your residence. Ransom thought he would hate life in a hotel, and he does, in a way. It’s a little sterile and odd. There’s help everywhere and that may be nice at most times, but you never truly feel alone or separate from your work life and purpose for being away in a hotel.
There are perks, though, and Ran has found the perfect way to sneak you into taking advantage of one.
The bellhop trots his dolly of Ransom’s luggage off to the curb where the car waits, but instead of following outside, Ran steers you off down another hall. The extravagance of the lobby fades into serene simplicity. The spa.
“Hugh, what are we doing here. You have a flight to catch.”
“And I’ll make it to the airport just fine. You—“ he stops you in front of a cart of various infused waters, conspicuously away from the front desk “—have an appointment.”
He walks up to the counter and smiles, more so because he’s proud of himself than wanting to be friendly. He mentions your name, a facial, a massage, and a pedicure, and the hostess nods politely.
“Ransom,” you protest, stomping over with half-assed anger at best.
He knows these moods now. You don’t take time for yourself. Fine. He’ll take the time for you.
He pulls out his black card and taps it on the marble.
“I was gonna see you off,” you huff, grabbing his elbow gently.
He leans to kiss your cheek, a smooth way to cover up his whisper of, “second only to getting me off, but—“ he pulls the card out of your reach “—this is important, too.”
“Seriously, Ransom, I can just cancel it under the room.”
He tosses his card dramatically over the desk, making the poor hostess scramble to retrieve it.
“Oops. I guess they already have my card on file, so unless you want to waste my money, sweetheart…”
Your faux grumpy face is actually quite precious. It’s a shame he can’t take the time to wipe it right off your features by sucking hickeys across your chest and finger-fucking you on the ride to the airport.
Alas, decisions are made.
He knows you wouldn’t dare refuse, not with the way you stare apologetically at the woman swiping his card discretely beside a hidden computer screen.
The hostess smiles again. “Your service provider will take you back momentarily.” Her English is immaculate even if heavily accented.
Ran slides his arm around your waist while he pockets the card again.
“Just channel me for a few hours,” he mutters, planting a kiss on your temple. “Be selfish. It’s all about you.”
That makes you giggle (as he hoped), and just at the moment you tug at his scarf to chastise him, a professional woman pops out from behind an illusion wall.
“This way, ma’am.”
“I’ll see you soon,” he says, expecting you to drop into your own professional mode in the presence of others, but he’s surprised.
Your arms encircle his hips, pouring gratitude into a light squeeze that lingers as a warm caress beneath his travel clothes.
There’s a moment when you tilt your gaze to his, eyes watery but happy, and he’s not sure what’s happening or wrong or how long you two simply stare at each other. Then it’s over.
Your genuine smile is back but tamed.
“Bye, Hugh,” you whisper, smoothing the front of his shirt of imaginary wrinkles.
“Anytime,” he winks back.
Most of his trip to the States is slept through with a sleep aid he’s hoarded to use for this exact reason, but the journey is as fucking exhausting and arduous as the first time flying the other direction. Ransom is elated to find Dubois holding a sign with his name by baggage claim and shoots you a quick text in appreciation.
He doesn’t expect your immediate reply, considering the hour it is back in Beijing.
:I am a boneless puddle of human goo.
:And?
:And what?
He waits. Since you know he’s glued to the phone screen when you have time to text with him, he doesn’t have to wait long to get his point across.
:And that was very nice. Thank you.
:…not what I’m waiting for.
Ran helps your driver carry the bags to the black SUV. It takes you a few minutes to cave.
:Fine!
:You were right. I needed that.
:See? That wasn’t so hard.
He raises the partition in the car.
:And you’re welcome.
::melting emoji::
:Speaking of hard…
See, Ran is selfish to his core, and he loves phone sex. He also happens to know you are relaxed and very, very grateful. There’s no way that was on purpose.
Nope. No way.
:You aren’t even at home yet!
:I’ve got ears, don’t I? You’ll just have to give me an exact blow-by-blow.
:…
:Naughty boy.
Yes. Ransom Drysdale always gets what he wants, and he never tires of turning you on from all the way across the globe. He’s just that in control.

for umich week could u do the reader being powpow twin sister who is a snowboarder going to the olympics and having kjohnny and her get together
THIS IS FROM THE OLYMPICS!!!!!! I AM A HORRIBLE PERSON I AM SORRY!!!
-
You were going to the olympics first. You had known for months and your family were so proud of you. Especially Owen.
So when Owen and Kent came hurdling into your dorm waving around letters like crazy people you were shocked "We're going to the olympics!"
You sat for a moment before it registered in your head and you jumped up and straight into Kent's arms "Oh my god!"
Owen watched slightly confused but had no time to comment as you hugged him too.
The whole time leading up to Beijing you and Kent hadn’t seen much of each other with your respective practices happening.
So when it came time to be in the Olympic village you could spend a little more time together between matches and events.
Kent was front and centre, next to Owen of course to watch you.
“What do you know about snowboarding KJ?” Briss asked as the boys stood waiting for your event to start.
“I-I don’t but the Power’s are like family and I’m here to support Y/N”
Brendan only smirked while nudging Matty “Yeah, sure”
Kent rolled his eyes and Owen had no time to ask what they were implying before you were announced.
The boys knew something was going on between you and Kent, it was painfully obvious to everyone but Owen.
They thought you two would’ve come clean at some point in the start of sophomore year but it was February and it was still a massive secret.
Your runs were perfect - exactly like practiced and the boys were cheering louder than anyone for you.
The scores were perfect, you beamed at the end of the run.
You ran over to your brother and boyfriend, brought into a group hug of congratulations. When you pulled back Owen noticed how your hands lingered on Kent.
When Canada lost and the boys were sent home you were stood waiting for them to get off the ice. Your brother squeezed you tight and you swear you felt him shake with a soft cry.
Kent passed you by, giving you a cold shoulder before heading to the locker room which kind of hurt you. You wanted to support him.
He didn’t speak to you for the rest of the day, completely shaking you before your final event. When you got to the slopes you were wracked with nerves, pacing up and down when Kent found you, stopping your pacing
“You’re going to do great” your eyes shot up to look at him
“You asshole! You’ve been ignoring me all day I’ve been so worried!!”
He looks at you shyly “I’m sorry.. I just I didn’t want to do that infront of Owen!”
You look at him like a crazy person “Do what?!”
“if you held me after that game… I wouldn’t have let you go now stop worrying and go out there and bring home the gold! you’re all Canada’s got going for it now” he jokes and you smile, leaning into his side
“I’m so stressed” he kisses the top of your head “You’re gonna be the best, now go!”
He went back out to join everyone and wait for your run, watching with sweaty nervous hands when they called your name.
He watched your every move, every flip and kick you made and then to the judges once you’d finished.
You won.
You dropped your board into the snow and ran towards the group waiting for you, this time not going for the group hug instead you leaped up against the fence to wrap your arms around Kent.
Briss made a joke to Owen about you both, both turning to face your brother with guilty faces
“Pow-“
Owen put his hand up to stop Kent “I knew the whole time”
You giggled against Kent’s cheek and Owen adds
“Dude I’m your roommate I know you sneak her in after I go to sleep”
“We’re so not good at being quiet”

Biden and Trump are the same you say.
Trump wants to destroy the left. Biden is considered center-left wing.
These are quotes from the Mandate of Leadership, the promise that conservatives are going to try and fulfill if they get power again.
Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise.
Right now Biden is in power. So the time we're under him must be the same as being under a government that believes this:
"children suffer the toxic normalization of transgenderism with drag queens"
"Overseas, a totalitarian Communist dictatorship in Beijing is engaged in a strategic, cultural, and economic Cold War against America’s interests, values, and people—all while globalist elites in Washington awaken only slowly to that growing threat."
Contemporary elites have even repurposed the worst ingredients of 1970s “radical chic” to build the totalitarian cult known today as “The Great Awokening.”
"Most alarming of all, the very moral foundations of our society are in peril. Yet students of history will note that, notwithstanding all those challenges, the late 1970s proved to be the moment when the political Right unified itself and the country and led the United States to historic political, economic, and global victories.
The Heritage Foundation is proud to have played a small but pivotal role in that story. It was in early 1979—amid stagflation, gas lines, and the Red Army’s invasion of Afghanistan, the nadir of Jimmy Carter’s days of malaise—that Heritage launched the Mandate for Leadership project.
"Conservatives should be confident that we can rescue our kids, reclaim our culture, revive our economy, and defeat the anti-American Left—at home and abroad. We did it before and will do it again.
"This is an agenda prepared by and for conservatives who will be ready on Day One of the next Administration to save our country from the brink of disaster.
The Heritage Foundation is once again facilitating this work. But as our dozens of partners and hundreds of authors will attest, this book is the work of the entire conservative movement. As such, the authors express consensus recommendations already forged, especially along four broad fronts that will decide America’s future:"
"The next conservative President must make the institutions of American civil society hard targets for woke culture warriors. This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), diversity, equity, and inclusion gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists"
"In our schools, the question of parental authority over their children’s education is a simple one:
Schools serve parents, not the other way around. That is, of course, the best argument for universal school choice—a goal all conservatives and conservative Presidents must pursue. But even before we achieve that long-term goal, parents’ rights as their children’s primary educators should be non-negotiable in American schools. States, cities and counties, school boards, union bosses, principals, and teachers who disagree should be immediately cut off from federal funds. The noxious tenets of “critical race theory” and “gender ideology” should be excised from curricula in every public school in the country"
"they are taught to deny the very creatureliness that inheres in being human and consists in accepting the givenness of our nature as men or women. Allowing parents or physicians to “reassign” the sex of a minor is child abuse and must end."
"But the pro-family promises expressed in this book, and central to the next conservative President’s agenda, must go much further than the traditional, narrow definition of “family issues.” Every threat to family stability must be confronted".
"Finally, conservatives should gratefully celebrate the greatest pro-family win in a generation: overturning Roe v. Wade, a decision that for five decades made a mockery of our Constitution and facilitated the deaths of tens of millions of unborn children. But the Dobbs decision is just the beginning. Conservatives in the states and in Washington, including in the next conservative Administration, should push as hard as possible to protect the unborn in every jurisdiction in America. In particular, the next conservative President should work with Congress to enact the most robust protections for the unborn that Congress will support while deploying existing federal powers to protect innocent life and vigorously complying with statutory bans on the federal funding of abortion."
"-A combination of elected and unelected bureaucrats at the Environmental Protection Agency quietly strangles domestic energy production through difficult-to-understand rulemaking processes; "Bureaucrats at the Department of Homeland Security, following the lead of a feckless Administration, order border and immigration enforcement agencies to help migrants criminally enter our country with impunity;
-Bureaucrats at the Department of Education inject racist, anti-American, ahistorical propaganda into America’s classrooms
-Bureaucrats at the Department of Justice force school districts to undermine girls’ sports and parents’ rights to satisfy transgender extremists;
-Woke bureaucrats at the Pentagon force troops to attend “training” seminars about “white privilege”; and
-Bureaucrats at the State Department infuse U.S. foreign aid programs with woke extremism about “intersectionality” and abortion."
So, the year is 2025. Every mention of "sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), diversity, equity, and inclusion gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights" has been erased from our laws.
Abortion is crminalised across the country.
Schools can't teach about being trans, gay or about race.
Parental control over their children's and teenagers education is absolute.
A cold war is "won" following in the footsteps of Ronald Regan.
The environmental protection agency has been targeted and domestic energy production, fossil fuels, are safe.
There has been a further crack down on migrants entering the country "illegally".
Federal programs that teach about intersectionality, abortion or white privileged have bene shut down.
And "transgender extremists" are no longer allowed to "control" women's sports.
A world where they have fulfilled their promise to reverse every human rights progress Biden has made and ensure that nothing as "liberal" happens again.
Oh and "[Trump's]  Republican rivals for the 2024 presidential nomination competed with one another to show who could be more vicious in encouraging uninhibited Israeli military action in Gaza,"
" Trump has also used the Israel-Hamas War to reinforce his positions on other issues remote from the conflict itself, particularly his hostility to Muslim refugees, making it clear that Gazans (and, likely, Muslims generally) would be stopped from entering the U.S. if he is reelected." https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2023/12/trump-israel-hamas-stance.html
Is that the world you want to live in in 2025?

May I Have This Dance?
When Cinder accidentally messes up her dance with Kai at the 130th Peace Ball, the first ball Kai and Cinder have attended as a married couple, she fears that the people of the Commonwealth would never accept her after the "stunt" she pulled...
. . .
As Thorne would've said, she'd "Cinder'ed" it up.
Casting her gaze upward to the sky, Cinder sighed as she counted the stars in the night sky.
Kicking her heels off, letting them tumble across the grass of New Beijing Palace's garden, Cinder shut her eyes and gave up counting.
A headache throbbed against her temples again.
Curse her two left feet for letting her mess up.
Her retina display repeated the moment in her little head-portscreen.
Her left foot slipping beneath her, Kai's shocked expression, his arms sweeping her up, inches above the floor.
"Stop," Cinder hissed to herself as her retina display showed her the moment where she bolted out of the ballroom. "Stop!"
"Cinder?"
Cinder recognized that voice. That beautiful, gorgeous voice.
She ignored it, burying her face in the crook of her elbow.
The rustle of the grass beside her and the warmth of an arm around her neck signaled her that he was here.
Kai.
"Kai, what are you doing here?" Cinder said. "Isn't your priority is to be in the ballroom, chatting with the guests?"
"The only priority I have right now is you," said Kai in her ear.
"Don't do that to yourself."
Kai gave a little snort. Cinder's heart thumped. "You know, sometimes your sarcasm hurts."
Cinder said nothing.
Kai sighed and scooted closer to her. He gently patted her arm, making her raise her head.
"Cinder, it's okay," said Kai quietly.
"No it's not." Cinder tugged at her hair, releasing it from its bun. "After that little stunt I pulled, everyone's going to think I'm a disgrace and I'm not fit for a queen."
"They'll understand, Cinder." Kai slowly turned her face toward his. "It's normal. You weren't raised by royalty like how your mother expected. You're just adjusting."
A ghost of a smile flitted across his lips.
"You're right," admitted Cinder. "I'm just adjusting."
"I thought it was my fault you slipped," whispered Kai.
"What?"
"Because you've spent 5 years as a mechanic and 8 years in a suspended animation tank, I knew you wouldn't be quite comfortable with this. Yet I married you anyway. I'm sorry." Kai looked away.
"Are you crazy?" said Cinder. "Marrying you was the best thing that happened to me. I would never regret that."
Kai smiled, taking Cinder's hand in his.
They stood up, both shining brightly in the moonlight.
Kai pressed his lips to Cinder's metal knuckle. "May I have this dance, My Empress?"
Cinder kissed him softly, then pressed her forehead against his. "Yes, you may."

Title: This Time It’s Real Author: Ann Liang Genres: Contemporary, Romance Pages: 352 Publisher: Scholastic Review Copy: Purchased Availability: Available now
Summary: When seventeen-year-old Eliza Lin’s essay about meeting the love of her life unexpectedly goes viral, her entire life changes overnight. Now she has the approval of her classmates at her new international school in Beijing, a career-launching internship opportunity at her favorite magazine…and a massive secret to keep.
Eliza made her essay up. She’s never been in a relationship before, let alone in love. All good writing is lying, right?
Desperate to hide the truth, Eliza strikes a deal with the famous actor in her class, the charming but aloof Caz Song. She’ll help him write his college applications if he poses as her boyfriend. Caz is a dream boyfriend -- he passes handwritten notes to her in class, makes her little sister laugh, and takes her out on motorcycle rides to the best snack stalls around the city.
But when her relationship with Caz starts feeling a little too convincing, all of Eliza’s carefully laid plans are threatened. Can she still follow her dreams if it means breaking her own heart?
Review: [THIS TIME IT’S REAL contains a very brief mention of a stalker and a few scenes featuring online hate comments.]
If you’re looking for a pool- or beachside read this summer, THIS TIME IT’S REAL by Ann Liang would be an excellent choice. This is a cute contemporary romance with a lot of heart—after all, who doesn’t love it when two lonely people fake date their way into real feelings?
Eliza, our heroine, has been traveling all over the world with her family thanks to her mother’s job. At this point in her life, she’s no stranger to watching the vast majority of her friendships fade with distance and time, so she hasn’t put much effort into forming anything lasting at her new school. She has her family, and she has one best friend, and she’s otherwise just trying to hang on. And it’s Eliza’s loneliness that makes the first real (awkward) interaction between her and Caz resonate so much: for a second, she realizes he’s alone in his own way, too, despite his stardom.
Fake dating can be done for comparatively shallow/short-term reasons (e.g., a family event, a school reunion), so it’s fun when an author can build something with more longevity. I cackled at the scene where Eliza first proposes a mutually beneficial, time-bound relationship between her and Caz—there were some great comedic moments in that scene and throughout the rest of the book. I also appreciated that the author crafted the setup in such a way that I felt it was a fair deal between the characters, even if Eliza was the one who was desperate enough to propose it in the first place. Caz being in charge of much of their “chemistry testing” (or, date fodder for Eliza’s essays) helped make it feel like they were invested on equal grounds and was definitely a point in his favor when it came to wanting the two of them to get together.
Of course, the best part of fake dating is when the characters catch real feelings. I won’t go into much detail about that, but just know that I felt the payoff was very much worth it in my opinion. Eliza’s reactions to her own growing feelings were very well done, and I liked how Eliza’s emotional journey played out and how her and Caz’s relationship ended up against the backdrop of a slightly messy ending.
Recommendation: Get it now if you’re a fan of fake dating and related tropes. THIS TIME IT’S REAL is a great summer read for anyone looking for a contemporary romance with a lot of heart, and I’m very happy I got my hands on author Ann Liang’s latest book.
